y'know we don't talk a lot about how weird the US culture of people publicly broadcasting their political inclinations with stuff like bumper stickers & pins and whatnot is like it's very sports team-y
#i don't mean like... having a pride flag or a raised fist bumper sticker for example#i mean stuff that spells out exactly which party and/or candidates you vote for#like if i walked down the street and i saw a car and it had a sticker that was like ''EMMANUEL MACRON 2020'' i'd be like. uh?#like that's how you get your tires slashed around here GKGJFKDJD#people usually try to keep which party they vote for a secret to some extent#like maybe they Will talk politics with their loved ones and all but. signalling it to random strangers with merch ? hell no#every time i've voted so far i went to vote with my mom and every time i never knew who she voted for#like i have a p good idea of who she Doesn't vote for but i couldn't tell you exactly who she does vote for#if any of them. honestly she doesn't know shit about politics#anyway i guess the fact that y'all are under a bipartisan system kinda exacerbates this ? like... everyone is in one of 2 categories ig#whereas here with our like... dozens of parties it's easier to keep things to ourselves#but also we just don't have that culture of broadcasting to the whole world which candidates we support#it's more of a ''if you know me you'll be able to tell who i vote for. if you don't know me you don't need to know who i vote for'' thing
