starting to think life is just a series of never-ending marshmallow tests
#a constant battle between decisions that are low effort and result in instant short-lived gratification#and decisions that take more effort and result in long-term gratification#there's also the conscious acknowledgment that those low-effort decisions don't always result in sufficient enjoyment and can be detrimenta#whereas decisions that require more effort often result in a greater sense of gratification fulfillment and improved well-being#(and the high-effort process can--though tbh not always--be enjoyable)#anyway#this is really about me needing to spend less time on my phone and more time on creative pursuits and work lmao
