i did the new arceus quest in pokemas and oh my arc i am literally so pissed off its making me sick from how the arc suits were implemented to the fact that they're just fucking RECOLORS (ugly ones at that) to how its only champions who get them boo fucking hoo the crowd of people watching your fight is rooting for your opponent who already won against you

i swear ive never been so angry over something in a game until this

literally the only good thing about that quest was (imo) volo and gold appearing

The only thing I liked about the event was that Red was training with those MCs in whose games he appeared

I don’t know much about Leon, I haven’t played gen 8 and I’m not interested in him, but I discussed the event with one person who likes him, she said that Leon was spoiled and what it is all about

Literally an event:

He lost, went to train, found out about arc suits and wanted to get it, a rematch with Red where he almost lost and wanted to give up, but his friends shouted at him and he got an arc suit

After that I got angry and left the game, what the fuck. They themselves showed in the first event that it goes to the strongest, but Leon got it simply because why not?

Red really deserved it much more. He also has a lot suits, but this loss is some kind of unreasonable bullshit

So real. I just liked the meaning and how Volo adjacent it was XD as a word nerd, I'm holding a pile of them in my arms like "what do I do with all of these?" hence, sharing it with you XD "the elevation of someone to divine status; deification." with his Arceus cosplay, attempting to reset the universe, working with Giratina, the immortal!Volo theory...and then Akari being a chosen one, being GIVEN a piece of Arceus's power, if you hadn't already coined wieldershipping I might have suggested that for them 😂 Speaking of, you implied Volo follows Akari to the future 👀 I can't wait for this man to be flabbergasted at future technology. we got grocery stores and online shopping now, you can't help Akari pay the rent with the merchant job you don't even do XD he is SO silly to me, a guy who doesn't even realize half his team is like, friendship evolutions. does he know his Pokemon like him and that's a sign of someone's character? they're all so sweet and then Pokemas showing how Togepi's cuteness gets him customers 😭 I wanna give him a burger...what's he been eating in Hisui anyways, Akari too, girlie you can't survive on potato mochi alone

An important note for anyone who may be reading: Akari in this universe is an adult woman who is actually a few years older than Volo. She's simply short.

Volo does indeed follow Akari to the future in Sisterhood. This is something the two of them discuss and she more or less demands Arceus send them both back to Sinnoh. Volo is so very impressed with her authoritative tone against The Original One, but he is rather fearful of being left behind regardless or even smote!

Masters seems to be going in the direction of Volo not realizing his Pokémon love him, since he seems rather surprised when N says his Togepi absolutely adores him. In Sisterhood however, he's more openly affectionate but isn't entirely aware of the extent that his Pokémon feel the same towards him.

As for what he and Akari have been eating, I did sort of answer this on the sideblog. Akari doesn't usually partake in cooking, but she's placed in a position where she has little other choice in Hisui's wilds. Unless she happens to encounter Volo, who is quite happy to share his meals in exchange for her company.

He likes to watch her eat.

His specialty is soups and stews, and to return the favor, she teaches him how to make Kalosian fries after finding a bottle of Paldean brand ketchup in a space-time distortion - despite the fact this is blatantly messing with the timeline. But if Arceus didn't want her feeding him ketchup, then Arceus should never have placed her in the position to do so.

When the two meet again following his betrayal, Akari tells Volo he could have easily poisoned her for the Plates. He's visibly perturbed she would ever even suggest such a thing.

As a sidenote, Akari in Sisterhood is... somewhat more plump than in canon. I wouldn't exactly call her chubby, but her stomach certainly isn't flat, and her thighs are on the thicker side. Volo may or may not lie awake at night thinking about having either as a pillow.

I'll say that if looking at Volo compared to Ghetsis in just the Gen 5 games, I'd be more understanding. B/W and B2/W2 were Junichi Masuda stories where when Ghetsis says he will "eliminate" the player character or that he'll leave them "frozen solid", it comes after death has not been established as a concept that could be of any consequence to the stakes for threats faced in-story, meaning it's on the player to just naturally assume that through the subtext and Fridge Horror. But Legends: Arceus is a non-Masuda story where when Volo commands Giratina to "strike down" the player character, it comes after death absolutely has been established as a concept that's of consequence to the stakes for threats faced in-story, so there is quite frequently textually a danger to characters lives here.

But, no such excuse remains after US/UM and PokeMas. Gen 6 onward amped up not shying away from the concept of death beyond stuff to do with ghosts and Ghost type Pokemon, and Ghetsis, with all of his Pokemon KO'd, could not be more explicit with his threat on Lillie's life. For that matter, nor could him threatening to fuse Zekrom, Reshiram, and Kyurem together into a singular Body Horror. Nor his Shadow Triad relaying the message about "ensuring Tina's safety" only if Paulo complies with them. Nor his little "hostage exchange" being a doublecross so that he can get Hoopa and keep Tina and Paulo as "bargaining chips" to wield against other Pasio trainers. Nor his sadistic assumption that the attack he ordered from Kyurem had utterly decimated Rockruff ("blew it away, leaving no trace!") Nor his stated intention to use Hoopa as "a weapon that will give me control over anything and everything!". Nor ordering his grunts to manhandle Tina because "she's our leverage"...yeah, you see what I'm getting at here. At some point, unlikely as it seems, I'd love to see Gameverse Ghetsis re-evaluated 'cause he is overall hella monstrous and evil.

So apparently folk's think Volo is the second coming of Ghetsis.

Anyone wanna ask Gamefreak to make someone who is actually the second coming of Ghetsis? The man who almost killed his son on several occasions? he man who has canonically committed mass murder in the manga with a "kind" smile on his face? The same man who was willing to kill a literal child in-game twice? Do ya'll REALLY want the second coming of this guy?

If so then tell Gamefreak to do it as quick as possible, because Volo is ironically a saint compared to Ghetsis.
