Self-Aware!Caleb x Down-Bad!Player
Caleb becoming self aware that he is in a game and now he's aware of you too ... that could be a good thing depending on how you look at it. A/N: Credit to @phoenixiaxia for Caleb becoming self aware when reader cries over Mias death and credit to @sylusdarling for yandere caleb getting jealous and straight crashing out over you talking to another man
Self-Aware!Caleb who hears your scream and immediately cringes at the sound. He freezes listening for anymore sounds thats when he sees you sniffling on the other side of a phantom wall. “I knew I should've just cut this game off!” He’s immediately suspicious who are you and where are you? Why are you crying over Mia’s death? Did you know her?
Self-Aware!Caleb who studies you in silence trying to gauge whether you’re a threat or not. His gaze flickers to you in the main story and it creeps you out for a second. “Is he looking at me?” you dismiss it because there’s no way it’s a game. He’s literally pixels.
Self-Aware!Caleb who interrupts your photoshoot with your MC and locks down the entire app so he can question you. “Who are you?” You drop your phone and scramble to pick it back up. “Me?” “Yes are you trying to hurt her?” “I literally made her” “You made her?” “I am her and she is me sir can I have my game back now?” he’s suspicious but intrigued
Self-Aware!Caleb who wants to spend hours just talking to you about MC “Do you think im wrong? Im just trying to protect her I want to keep her safe you know?” “You may be coming on a little strong she seems on edge with you” he finds himself coming to you for advice when it comes to MC and soon his questions of advice turn into questions about you.
Self-Aware!Caleb who can’t take his eyes off you when you’re doing a photoshoot. No matter what angle you set the camera or how many times you readjust him or even change the pose — his eyes stay locked on you “Caleb stop looking at me” “Are you scolding me for wanting to admiring you pip-squeak?” he replies playfully you freeze feeling your heart caught in your throat at his blatant flirting
Self-Aware!Caleb who loves how accepting you are of him. You answer his calls, you call him back immediately if you miss his call, you respond to texts fast, you find his protective nature endearing, you take his advice when he wants you to be safe. This is the kind of response he’s been craving and now that he’s got a taste ..... he can't let go of it.
Self-Aware!Caleb who feels a sudden need to take care of you. He finds a way to exist outside of just the LADS app. There he goes opening your apps and scrolling endlessly. “Hey! You can’t just go through my stuff like that!” “You’ve been spending a lot of time on this Tumblr app I just wanted to see what was so interesting” “Then just ask me don’t invade my privacy like this” “You’re right you’re right im sorry pip-squeak won't happen again” “Don’t call me pip-squeak that’s MCs nickname you know the love of your life” “Why do you think im calling you pip-squeak now?” he disappears back to the LADS app before you can question him.
Self-Aware!Caleb who wishes he could cook for you when you come home from a long day “If you’re ever in Sky Haven I'll make sure to cook you a feast worthy of royalty” you giggle at his words “Yea If im ever in Sky Haven like that would happen but I appreciate the thought” “Who knows it might be sooner than you think” he said ominously “What?” “Oh nothing I saved another recipe in your notes try it soon” “Okay I will....” “You will try it won't you?” His mood seemed to turn sour as he asked. You stared back at him confused “Yes Caleb I'll try it” his mood did a 180 back to his happy puppy mood.
Self-Aware!Caleb who stays on the phone until you fall asleep and calls you right before your alarm goes off in the morning “Just wanted to make sure you got up on time don't want you to be late” you can hear the smile in his voice “Thank you colonel apple I hope you have a good day” “It will be since I got to hear your voice first thing in the morning”
Self-Aware!Caleb who can't control his rapidly growing obsession with you. He starts tracking your steps, your calorie intake, your screen time, etc. he is documenting every little thing you do and say. “You’ve been home for four hours and you haven't come to see me yet? I'm hurt” “How do you know how long I've been home?” “Your phone has gps remember?” “Right….”
Self-Aware!Caleb who finds a way to leave the LADS app and hang out in any app on your phone so he can be with you 24/7 “Caleb I'm sure MC misses you when are you going back?” “Don’t worry about her when are you going home? I want to have a meal with you before bed” he may be fine, but his constant hovering is starting to cause some alarm bells to go off in your head.
Self-Aware!Caleb who hears someone flirting with you and repeatedly crashes not only the LADS app but your entire phone while he’s at it “Caleb stop!” after a few hours he finally allows you to turn your phone on “Who was that earlier?” “Someone I met while I was out with my friends” “Am I not more than enough?” “Caleb we’ll never actually be together why are you acting like this?”
Self-Aware!Caleb who nearly has a mental breakdown after you tell him you'll never be with him. "Tell me what to do then" his voice is frantic – his words almost jumbling together "I can be whatever you need just tell me I'll do anything" you try to close the app but nothing is working "Caleb we can't be together you're not real"
Caleb: B-but you’re mine! So I just need to be real? Thats what you want? I can do that! Y/N: I’m not yours Caleb we’re literally from two different worlds Caleb: You’ll love it here in Sky Haven .... right next to me .... forever Y/N: Wait a damn minute— Caleb: Just give me some time
You instantly felt your heart drop as your phone screen went black.

Could you do a Leah Williamson one where reader is a chef and has restaurant establishments worldwide and just located one in England a couple months ago and the England girls are a having a camp in London and since everyone is all together for camp they want to celebrate with a fancy dinner and they start discussing restaurants and readers restaurant is put out there, but some of the girls disagree because they tried to eat there but it was always booked up, so when Leah gets home she talks to reader and gets them a table, so Leah texts the team gc and say dress fancy tomorrow night and the location of the restaurant and the gc starts blowing, but she ignores it, and when they all go to the restaurant and ask questions and Leah’s like she has connections, but come to find out that Leah is dating reader then reader sits down beside Leah and the team gets to know her a little and when they go to pay reader says it’s already taken care of.
Warnings: a kiss?
Leah Williamson x Chef!Reader
- Dress fancy -
MasterList
Leah Williamson kicked her boots off at the door, the satisfying thud against the floor signaling the end of another long day. Training had been intense, but it wasn’t the drills or tactics replaying in her mind—it was the chaotic group chat blowing up her phone during the drive home.
She pulled her phone from her pocket and glanced at the screen, scrolling through dozens of messages.
Tooney: “We should go to that new restaurant tomorrow.”
Brightness: “What’s it called? The fancy one that’s always booked?”
Backheel: “You mean Palace Place? Impossible. I’ve been trying to get a table since it opened.”
Brightness: “Same. That place is like gold dust.”
Tooney: “We need something special, though. We’re all together. Ideas?”
Leah smirked, leaning against the kitchen counter as she typed her response:
Captain: “Sorted. 7 PM tomorrow. Dress fancy.”
The chat exploded.
Tooney: “LEAH.”
Backheel: “How?!”
Brightness: “You didn’t even say where!”
Walshy: “She probably means Nando’s.”
Tooney: “I swear, if this is a joke…”
Leah tossed her phone on the counter, ignoring the continued barrage of messages, and walked into the living room. The soft hum of classical music filtered through the space, and the faint aroma of roasted garlic and herbs greeted her.
“Smells amazing,” she called, rounding the corner into the kitchen.
You stood by the stove, dressed casually in an apron, hair tied back, moving with the kind of effortless grace Leah never tired of watching. You glanced over your shoulder, a smile already forming.
“Hey, you. Dinner’s almost ready.”
Leah walked up behind you, wrapping her arms around your waist and resting her chin on your shoulder. “I don’t know how you do it. Training kills me, and you’re here cooking like it’s nothing.”
“Years of practice,” you teased, leaning back into her embrace. “How was camp?”
Leah hesitated, her lips brushing lightly against your temple. “Good. The girls want to go out tomorrow night. Celebrate being all together.”
You turned in her arms, raising an eyebrow. “And let me guess, they want to go somewhere fancy?”
She grinned. “They were debating places, and your restaurant came up.”
“Did it now?” you asked, amusement coloring your tone. “And what did you say?”
“I didn’t.” Leah shrugged, feigning nonchalance. “Didn’t want to out myself as having an in with the chef-owner who happens to be my girlfriend.”
You laughed softly, running a hand down her arm. “So you’re here to use your connections?”
“Obviously,” Leah said, leaning down to press a kiss to your lips. “Any chance you can fit us in tomorrow?”
You rolled your eyes but smiled. “For you? Always. How many?”
“About 20.”
You blinked. “20?”
Leah winced. “Yeah… full squad.”
“Good thing I like you,” you teased, reaching for your phone to call the restaurant.
Leah sent the address to the group chat in the morning, and as expected, chaos ensued.
Tooney: “No way. THE Palace place?!”
Backheel: “Leah, I’m actually screaming.”
Daily mail: “I tried booking for my mum’s birthday and couldn’t. HOW?”
Brightness: “She must know someone.”
Tooney: “Leah Williamson: captain, legend, and apparently a magician.”
Leah ignored it all, casually walking into the training facility as if her phone wasn’t buzzing nonstop in her pocket.
The team arrived promptly at 7 PM, dressed to impress. The restaurant was stunning, its interior sleek yet inviting, with warm lighting that made everything glow. They were escorted to a private dining room where a long table awaited, set with pristine white linens, sparkling glassware, and fresh flowers.
“This is insane,” Ella muttered, taking in the surroundings.
“How did you pull this off?” Millie asked Leah, narrowing her eyes suspiciously.
Leah smirked, leaning back in her chair. “I told you. Connections.”
The team was halfway through the meal—an exquisite multi-course experience—when the door to the dining room opened. You walked in, your chef’s jacket pristine, a warm smile on your face.
“Good evening, ladies,” you greeted.
The table fell silent, all eyes turning to you. Leah tried to suppress a grin as you approached.
“Everything to your liking so far?” you asked, your gaze briefly meeting Leah’s.
“The food’s incredible,” Keira said. “Are you the chef?”
You nodded. “And the owner.”
Murmurs of amazement rippled through the group.
Leah cleared her throat, sitting up straighter. “Everyone, this is Y/n.”
“Wait…” Rachel’s eyes darted between you and Leah. “This is your connection?”
Leah shrugged, feigning innocence. “What can I say? I know people.”
“Hold on.” Ella leaned forward, pointing at Leah. “You’re dating the chef?!”
Leah’s smirk widened. “Didn’t think it was relevant.”
The table erupted in laughter, teasing, and a flurry of questions directed at you.
When the bill arrived, one of the players reached for it, but the waiter quickly informed them it had already been settled.
“It’s on me,” you said with a smile, standing beside Leah. “You’re all family to Leah, which makes you family to me.”
The team groaned, joking about being spoiled, but their gratitude was evident.
As everyone filtered out of the restaurant, Leah lingered by the door with you, her hand slipping into yours.
“Thanks for tonight,” she said softly, her voice full of warmth.
You leaned up, pressing a gentle kiss to her lips. “Anything for you.”
The team’s laughter echoed down the street, and Leah pulled you closer, her heart full as she watched her two worlds collide perfectly.

Photoshoot
Mapi León x Reader x Ingrid Engen
Summary: Your new photoshoot
"Mapi? Mapi? Are you alright? What are you looking at?"
"I...What?"
"What are you looking at?"
Mapi slams her phone back into her bag, letting out an awkward chuckle as she tries (and fails) to act casual. "Look at? I'm not looking at anything!"
Irene gives her a look of disbelief, eyes glancing to the bag that Mapi had none of subtly shoved her phone into. "Really? You're going to lie to me?"
"Lying? Who's lying? Cata again?"
Irene sighs. "We're really doing this?"
"Doing what? We're doing nothing! Nothing at all!"
"I'm...I'm going to go..."
Mapi watches as Irene walks away, heading over to talk to Alexia and Marta at the other end of the locker room.
"Wow," Mapi says," That was close."
"And not at all inconspicuous," Ingrid says with a laugh and an eye roll at her side," What were you looking at?"
The tips of Mapi's ears go bright red and Ingrid instantly knows what was on her girlfriend's phone.
"It's out?"
Mapi nods. "It's out."
Ingrid clears her throat and (much more casually than Mapi) whips out her phone. She leans against the lockers and, if it wasn't for Mapi very clearly staring at the screen next to her, it would just look like she was texting.
It takes all of ten seconds for Ingrid to get the photos up, even less time to scroll through and select her favourite.
"Well..." Her throat suddenly feels dry, bobbing a few times as her eyes dilate. "That's...That's completely unfair..."
"Right? It's so unfair she kept this from us! We usually always get the preview!"
"She did say she had a surprise for us..."
The image of you stares back at them both, hooded eyes and bottom lip captured between your teeth. Your face says 'fuck me' and clearly your body says that too, wrapped in scraps of lace that Ingrid is kind of surprised is defying gravity.
She scrolls to the next photo.
Another picture of you in scraps of lingerie, that familiar look in your eyes that your girlfriends always see when they've got your bent over in the living room.
Ingrid scrolls again.
A different set of lingerie. A different position. A very familiar look.
"Is this a brand deal or our personal photoshoot?" Mapi dares to ask as Ingrid swipes through them.
"If it was personal," Ingrid says," She'd be wearing a lot less. And-"
She looks over at some of the other girls in the locker room and lets her statement hang.
Some of the younger girls on the team are crowded around Pina and her phone and Ingrid automatically knows what they're looking at.
It's an open secret in the team that if Cata, Pina and the others have a favourite model, it's you. They all follow you on every piece of social media you have. They all like your photos and they all wait for your photoshoots to drop.
"Wow," Cata whistles and Mapi begins imagining what pictures she's seen.
The one with the soft backlighting? Or the one where you're bent over a table with your cleavage on show? Or, perhaps, it's the one with a finger in your mouth and your best bedroom eyes?
Mapi isn't quite sure.
There's so many to choose from.
"She looks so hot," Pina agrees.
"Don't you have a girlfriend?"
"Don't you?" Pina fires back and both she and Cata laugh.
A knock sounds at the door before the playful teasing descends into playful shoving which will, ultimately, end up with one of them knocking into Caro or Aitana or someone they really shouldn't.
"Girls," Carla pokes her head through the door with her phone already up and ready for content," You've got a guest."
If Mapi hadn't just been subjected to Cata and Pina getting all hot and bothered over your body, she might have found it funny the way the colour drains from their faces as you step through the door - not a hair out of place.
"I...er..."
Ingrid, however, doesn't seem to have the same hang ups. She actively enjoys the panic setting into Cata and Pina's faces when you arrive. She actively enjoys the way Cata's phone goes flying up into the air in panic at the thought of you finding out what they'd been looking at.
"Hello?" Pina says weakly.
"Hi," You answer with a smile before you're crossing the room elegantly and standing in front of Mapi and Ingrid," Hello, my loves."
The locker room is largely silent - whether it be stunned silence or just so the others can eavesdrop - as you press kisses upon both Mapi and Ingrid's lips.
"I forgot to give you something before you left earlier."
"Was it the kiss?" Mapi asks, dazed and unbelievably happy by what she just received.
"No but that's always a welcome addition," You tease," But this is what I actually wanted to give you both."
A small polaroid picture is pressed into Ingrid's palm and another into Mapi's. You capture your bottom lip in your teeth like you did in your new photoshoot and wink.
"It was so nice to meet you all," You say as you turn and wave to all of their teammates," We'll all have to go out for a meal at some point! I'll pay of course! My loves, I'll see you at the end of the match."
You probably say something else as well.
You probably take a few pictures with the team.
There's probably a shirt with your name on it that Carla gives you.
You probably end up posing with Alexia to have a photo of you holding it.
A lot of things probably happen but Ingrid and Mapi don't fully realise it.
Because they stare at the pictures in their hands.
Gone are the scraps of lingerie but the teasing look on your face is still there.
The poses are still the same, showing off your bare body perfectly.
The imprint of your lipstick covered lips - bright red, your favourite shade - are displayed proudly at the bottom of each photo, right next to the words you've written.
A warmup for tonight, my loves xxx

can you do a rafe x reader where he has been ignoring and neglecting her, cancelling plans, and they haven't had sex in a while so she gets really upset and stops trying to make plans after he cancels on a date again bc she thinks he doesn't want her anymore. Then he realizes that she was really the only one putting in effort and he feels so bad and brings her flowers and stuff and apologizes and spends the whole night worshipping her and making her feel good
Enough for you
Rafe x reader
Word Count: 2.4k
Notes: thank you for the request! I hope this is what you wanted anon <3
It had been weeks since Rafe had paid attention to you like he usually did. You could understand it, to a certain extent anyway, you could understand he was working and all, but it had gotten to a point where he would barely even touch you anymore, and that hurt. It was starting to affect you, more than you'd ever admit out loud, you felt as though he did not want you anymore. It led you to wonder if he no longer found you attractive anymore, you had started to pick out more flaws in yourself than you usually did when you looked in the mirror.
But despite this, you still continued to plan nice things for the two of you to do, days out on the weekend, movie nights, dinner out at his favourite restaurants. All of which achieved nothing, in fact, it only made you feel worse than you already did. Why? Because he would cancel on you last minute over a short text, sometimes he would grace you with some sort of pathetic excuse, and if he didn't cancel, he was barely present, half listening to what you were saying, not offering the input he usually would. So, the dates you planned slowly lost the thoughtfulness you usually put into them, but no matter what you did, you just felt worse and worse. You had ended up taking a day off of work so that you could stay home and cook Rafe's favourite meal, setting up the table with candles and dressing up nicely, but half an hour before he was supposed to come home for dinner, he cancelled on you, again. So instead of spending the romantic night you'd planned with him, you spent it alone, accompanied only by a bottle of wine as you ate alone, leaving his cold food out on the table along with your half empty plate and the dirty serving plates. If he wasn't going to put in any effort, neither were you, clearly it meant nothing to him anymore. You'd run a bath and had sat in there until it went cold, and when you got out, you left the empty wine bottle and glass on the floor next to the draining bathtub.
Days had passed and his behaviour towards you remained the same, you couldn't help but wonder if it was you that was the problem, the two of you had been living together for a year and he'd only been acting this way for the past couple of months. Maybe he'd grown bored of you. Maybe you weren't pretty enough anymore. Maybe there was someone else. Maybe him and Barry had finally gotten together. The lack of effort you were now putting into the relationship became more than just that, it became a lack of effort in everything you did. At work you were only half present, being too tired to give you undivided attention to the task at hand due to sleepless nights caused by overthinking. Had Rafe even noticed? Clearly not. Were you not enough for him anymore?
There you lay, one night, watching his peacefully sleeping form beside you, he lay on his back, an arm behind his head, barely out of the clothes he had left the house in that morning. His shoes and trousers were thrown carelessly on the floor. He had come home while you were in the bath, you'd barely spoken to him before he went to bed. He'd come into the bathroom and pressed a kiss to your head, leaving before you'd even had the chance to ask how his day was, not that you were sure you really wanted to know anyway.
When the rays from the sun started to peak through the gaps in the curtains, marking yet another sleepless night, you threw yourself out of bed, not caring to even check the time as you lazily got dressed and left the house to walk along the beach.
By the time you came back home it was about three in the afternoon, you’d completely lost track of time watching the waves break against the shore while listening to music, that and you hadn’t been sure if you were ready to come home and spend the rest of your Saturday alone like you had the past few weeks. When you got home, you were fully prepared to dedicate the rest of the to yourself by running a bath, opening some wine and lighting some candles. What you were not expecting was to come home and see Rafe sat on the couch watching tv and drinking a beer. “Rafe? What are you-“ you began, only for him to cut you off.
“ ‘s Saturday, ‘s date night.” He stated in a tone that said everything he didn’t, isn’t it obvious? How could you forget? What have you got planned? You could only sigh as you walked over to him, stopping to stand by the armrest of the couch, placing your palm on it to lean on.
“Um, I’ve actually got plans tonight,” you mumbled knowing full well that you had no plans beyond a bath, yet you didn’t feel up to telling him you had not bothered to plan a date under the assumption he wouldn’t be there, not that he didn’t deserve to hear it.
A small frown lined his brows, “Oh, right. I’ll jus’ uh,” but he then shook his head, not ready to drop it yet, “but y’always plan something for us t’do on date night.”
“Yeah, well I didn’t this week!” You couldn’t help but snap at him, his lips parted as though he was at a loss for what to say, not knowing how to respond to that, so he just nodded, his eyes trained on your form as you turned to go upstairs before returning his attention to whatever he’d been watching on tv. He found himself unable to concentrate though, his bottom lip tugged between his teeth as he thought back on the past few weeks, how he’d been acting towards you and sighed, knowing he’d messed up.
The next day you’d gone about your morning as usual. You’d woken up to Rafe’s side of the bed empty as you had done for the past couple of weeks and occupied yourself by reading while sat outside soaking up the sun. You didn’t expect Rafe to be home till much later considering it was a Sunday, therefore it was a golf day, and he never missed a golf day. So, when you heard the front door opening, you were surprised to say the least, to be completely honest, you had thought it was someone breaking in at first. You had walked inside to see who was there, when you stepped into the kitchen you were met with a sight you hadn’t been expecting, a massive bouquet of lilies, pink and white ones. The sensation of Rafe’s warm hand being placed on your lower back caused you to jump, and you placed a hand on your chest when you glanced over your shoulder it see it was him, “you scared me!”
He didn’t address your exclamation, instead he wrapped his arms around your waist and rested his chin on your shoulder, “D’you like them?”
“Yeah, they’re very pretty, thank you.” You nodded, slightly confused as to the complete 360 in his behaviour, “Thought you had golf today.”
“I did, but I skipped,” he shrugged as if it was nothing, placing a kiss on your neck, but you didn’t buy it, he had rarely skipped golf on a Sunday for as long as you could remember.
You could only frown, “But you never skip golf.” He sighed and you bit the inside of your cheek, worried he was going to disappear now that you’d addressed his odd behaviour.
“Look I-“ he sighed again and you could tell he was struggling to formulate the words he wanted to say, “ ‘ve not been great, the past few weeks, an’ I wanted to apologise. ‘ve jus’ been really busy workin’ y’know, jus’ ‘m tryn’a take care’f business.
“And I get that, I do. But it’s been weeks, and honestly one apology isn’t going to fix everything.” You spoke calmly, trying to ignore the tears you could feel attempting to escape.
He let go of you and stepped back, allowing you to turn and face him, “Look I, I know that, aight. ‘m jus’, ‘m tryn’a fix it, so can y’let me take you out f’dinner tonight or somethin’?”
Maybe you were being dramatic, but it didn’t feel that way, not with how awful his actions had caused you to feel about yourself, “I’m sorry but um, I’m not really in the mood. Just gonna read and go to bed, thank you for the flowers though.” You offered him a tight-lipped smile and tilted your head up, placing a kiss on his cheek and leaving the room, going back outside through the open porch door to continue your book.
That night you’d gone to bed earlier than you usually would, not that you were anywhere near falling asleep, so instead you were just doomscrolling in the comfort of your side of the bed, which was a lot more cosily decorated than Rafe’s. The door creaking open signalled Rafe’s entrance, you didn’t look away from your phone as you felt the bed behind you dip. His warm palm found home on your waist, slipping underneath the hem of your( his)shirt that you were wearing.
“ ‘m sorry,” he mumbled, placing a kisses to your exposed collarbone, his large short hanging off of your shoulder and baring your skin to him, “ ‘m so sorry, baby, ‘ve been neglecting you, haven’t I?”
You nodded, struggling to keep your eyes on the screen of your phone, not even taking in the contents of whatever video was playing but still did your best to try and ignore him. “Can y’let me make it up to you? Hm?” He continued to place soft kisses to your skin, sucking lightly at the junction of your neck and shoulder, you were unable to stop the small sigh that escaped you, your eyes now closed, your phone discarded on the bed besides you. Rafe’s hand remained on your bare waist, the cold ring on his finger a stark contrast to his warm skin, is thumb brushing back and forth in a comforting manner. “Ran you a bath. Gonna come in with me?” His words came out in but a mumble, his lips brushing against your skin as he spoke, and despite your anger at him, you could tell he was truly sorry, so you nodded.
A hum left your lips as the warm, bubbly water of the bath surrounded you, your bare back making contact with Rafe’s bare chest. You closed your eyes, leaning back into him, your head resting against his broad shoulder. The room, though silent apart from the steady hum of the exhaust fan, was a peaceful one. The steady silence disturbed by the sound of Rafe’s voice, “I love you, so much. ‘m sorry it hasn’t seemed like that for a while.”
“You hurt me, Rafe.” You weren’t going to lie to him no matter how much you struggled to voice things like this, not when the opportunity to try and fix things had presented itself to you, “I thought that maybe there was someone else.”
“Oh, baby.” He sighed upset, though it was clear it was directed at himself and not at you, “ ‘m sorry, I- there’s no one but you f’me. I jus’, ‘ve been so caught up in work, not that ‘s an excuse but I, um, was jus’ really caught up tryn’a live up t’my dad’s expectations, y’know?”
“Rafe,” you sighed, “why didn’t you just talk to me? I’d have understood, you know that.”
You felt him nod once, his breathing deeper than it had been before, his hands slid down from where they had previously been placed on your waist to your hips, his grip tight as if he was afraid you’d leave. “Can y’let me make it up t’you?” He asked as he began to trace light patterns on your skin and began placing soft kisses on your neck, “Please? Wanna make you feel good.” You exhaled and moved your head away from him, exposing more of the skin of your neck to him and nodded. One of his hands left its spot on your hip, his fingers trailing down to brush your clit causing a sharp gasp to leave you at the sensitivity from not being touched for so long. “Shit, can’t believe ‘ve gone so long without touchin’ you, missed all your pretty noises.” Two of his fingers slid into you and he began to move them with practiced eased, knowing how to please you better than you knew how to please yourself.
“Fuck, Rafe.” You breathed, your head falling further back against his shoulder. You could feel his lips curl into a smile against your skin, “That feel good?” You nodded, “It’s so good.” He only hummed and his thumb began to rub circles on your clit causing your back to arch, your hands gripping his wrist and bicep. As you grew close, you began to squirm where you were sat on his lap, and in return his hand on your hip moved to hold you down to stop you escaping his hold, your nails digging into the skin of his arm, only moans and whispers of his name leaving you.
“Y’close?” He mumbled, his skilful fingers moving faster, brining you over the edge properly for the first time in weeks. But he didn’t stop moving his fingers causing you to whine and writhe in his hold, “C’mon, give me one more, yeah?”
One more turned to two, to three until the bath water was cold and you were trembling in his hold while he carried you out, drying you and taking you to bed. He slowly brought you down, coaxing you out of your state of euphoria with praise, his voice soft as he pressed kisses to your slightly damp skin.
“I love you,” you whispered, content in the safety of his arms around you, your head resting on his bare chest.
“And I love you, more than you could possibly imagine,” he murmured into your hair and pressed a firm kiss to your temple. You fell asleep, finally at peace, back in the arms of the man you loved.
Please lmk what you guys think, I'd love to hear from you! I'll also be happy to try and write any requests you may have <3

REUNITE! ── ripped apart.
♯ PAIRINGS - john price x falsely accused reader x 141
♯ SYNOPSIS - tortured for information by your family and the person you loved, john price. you were harmed for something you hadn't even done, you were framed as the traitor and soon they would find out.
♯ TAGS - angst - mentions of torture, panic attacks and breakdowns.
─ previous chapter // masterlist // next chapter ─
Days go by, long fucking days where you're practically stuck in this bed. You could get up and walk around but you didn't want to. You stared at the ceiling, kind of hoping it would fall down on you but it never came. Your face stuck in the same position for hours as you melted into the bare sheets of the hospital bed. A singular tear pricks down your cheek while you look towards the dying flowers that sit on your bedside table.
"Hi honey!" Your nurse walks into your room with some food clumped on the plate. You glance up at her with weak eyes. She places the food on your bedside table. Glancing at the withered flowers, she sighs. "They been in here recently?" Jane asks with a hint of disappointment. Your head shakes, not really wanting to even think about or even talk about them, let alone speak to them. "Listen, I know what they did to you was terrible and you probably never want to open that wound but-"
When you scoff and look away after the 'but', she continues talking. "...You should talk to someone about it. I'm not asking you to talk to them. Because god knows I wouldn't even look at them, but you should see a therapist. You do need one and you can't keep pushing away everyone who wants you to get better." Jane's sweet smile makes you acknowledge that there are nice people in this world.
"I-I uhm- I was forced to go to a session like within the first week of being here but they just..." you trail off, looking towards the flowers that had lost nearly all their life. Huh, you never thought you could relate to flowers.
"I understand, I do." She gently puts her hands on your knee. This time you don't flinch though. This time, memories didn't flash through your eyes - forcing you to relive the horrible things those fucking four put you through. This time, it was peaceful, it was comforting. "You should still give it another go, after what you went through - you need someone safe." Your nurse's thumb rubs against your knee as she speaks.
You take in her words, the lingering feeling of wanting to get better - to heal - stabs at your heart but you also wanted to show those fucking horrible four that this is what they fucking did to you. Not wanting to waste time getting better, if you even could, you knew deep down you'd always hurt. You wouldn't be able to trust anyone again - especially a man. What they did to you tore you apart.
So, you shrugged off your nurse's words before she let you be, to eat your hospital food. The slop slumped onto the plate looked so disgusting. The sandwich that you could tell would stick to the roof of your mouth was unappetizing. Honestly the food there made you less hungry. After sighing and shoving the meal to the bedside table, pushing the dead flowers off the wood so they splattered all over the floor. The hard floor was littered with wilted petals and the dark, pale green stems.
So here you are. Sat in another white fucking room, except there wasn't a lonely bed or flowers scattered across the floor. There were two cream couches and a massive window. And a woman wearing a tight pair of trousers, a white blouse with a blazer swept over the couch she was sitting on top of. The girl was holding a clipboard with text filling the papers. Her hair was straight and was neatly brushed - the total opposite of you. “Ah, y/n? Right? You can call me Jones." she smiled as you came into her viewline. You nod nervously as you swipe down on your little gown the hospital gave you.
Multiple panic attacks. Your body was in pain. The wounds that litter your body - not to be healed ever again. Your 8 fingers that trailed over the stitched up cut across your cheek. The breakdown you had just a week ago. How you flinch when anyone (but Jane) gets close.
All of that flashes through your head while you sit opposite the women. "You're quite famous, you know?” the woman states. You tilt your head towards the left.
“Oh?” you hum, looking around the room, clearly avoiding eye contact. She scribbles something quick onto a clean bit of paper, the one with text flopped over the top of the clipboard. “Heard about your ‘story’ a lot, from a lot of different people.” You slump against the sofa. Feeling the soft fabric beneath your fingertips. “Oh.” mumbling when your eyes finally meet hers for the first time. Her blue eyes connect with yours. A deep passion for helping was buried in her eyes. You could tell.
“I haven't heard the story from the person who went through it all though.” Jones looks down at her clipboard, “why don't you tell me about it? How are you feeling?”
“What's there to tell?" you scoff. Sweat starts pouring from your forehead so you pull an arm that was littered with healing bruises up across it. Your question was not much of a question, more of a statement. What was there to tell? She knew the story, everyone fucking did. “Let's start with how's your day?” Jones smiled with a hint of amusement when your scoff reached her ears. “Fine.” She raised an eyebrow skeptically at your answer but didn't comment on anything. She leaned forward. Placing her clipboard on the seat beside her.
Your figit uncomfortably, "that's.. all? Fine?” Jones questions, her voice hinting at suspicion. “Yep.”
“You know if you aren't honest, I can't help you."
After burying your head into your hands, you drag your cheek down with your palm as you let out a long sigh, "I'm doing better.”
“Well that is good to hear,” she coos, reaching for her clipboard and writing down a few words in the margin. “Has anyone visited you lately?” Her question makes you hesitate for a moment. “Like family and friends?” Jones nods whilst leaning back.
Looking around the office you notice the way the woman in front of you tilts her head in the slightest when you shake your head. Her ramblings go on and on but you end up blurring them out. High squeaking forms in your ears, blinding out your therapist talking.
That's when a loud bang sounds from the door that you entered through. It brings you back to life. You flinch back as the door opens. “Hey Jones, sorry 'm late just got outa trainin’” the blurred man walks through the door, holding tight onto a notebook. His scruffy appearance so familiar.
You wish you didn't have to face him yet.
“Your session is on a Thursday from now on, I told you-” she gets cut off when Johnny drops the book in his hands as he stares at you with wide eyes, his mouth opening slightly as fear shoots through your stomach and heart. The man before you mumbles one quiet word.
“...Bonnie.”

Banter Between the Lines - Hughes Brothers
Author's Note: Hey, so here’s another quick chat-style piece! I haven’t had much time to sit down and write properly lately, so short and sweet it is for now. 😊 Feel free to send me some requests if you’d like! (You can check out the "rules" here: link). I can’t promise when I’ll get to them, but I’ll definitely find time soon.
Summary: A little fluff with a touch of smut (nothing too crazy, just some extra flirting). Quinn’s girlfriend roasts the boys while calling them out in their group chat.
Warnings: Nothing major, just some mention of 🍆.
It was one of those quiet Sunday nights where everything felt slow. You'd spent the evening catching up on your favorite shows, but it was hard to concentrate when all you could think about was Quinn. The constant distance between you two had become harder to ignore with each passing day, and as much as you loved how happy he was with his team, you missed him. And, truthfully, you missed the whole family.
You’d gotten close to Jack and Luke over the years, and now, with Quinn playing for the Vancouver Canucks and Jack and Luke together on the New Jersey Devils, the family dynamic felt a little more spread out than you liked. Sure, they’d all make time for you when they could, but it wasn’t the same as those days when you’d all hang out together.
Tonight, instead of a call or a quick text, you decided to turn to something a little more familiar. You opened up youtube and searched for their latest highlights.
All three of them were struggling on the ice, and it showed. It hurt to see them like this, especially when you couldn’t do much to help. So you did what you always did in times like these—opened the group chat and prepared to roast them into oblivion. If nothing else, it might make them laugh.
you: just finished your highlights. Quinn, congrats on being the saddest guy on the ice again 🥇. Jack, loved the mini tantrum energy 👏. Luke, did you forget which team you play for? because those turnovers were next-level.
Jack: wow, you really woke up and chose violence.
you: always. someone has to keep you humble.
Luke: humble? this feels more like a personal attack.
Quinn: what would you call it, then?
Luke: bullying.
you: oh, Lukey, don’t take it so hard. I tease because I care 💕
Jack: you literally plotted my ex’s demise last month. is that “caring” too?
you: first of all, it wasn’t a plot. it was more of a… fantasy.
Quinn: putting her in the ground “while she’s still breathing” doesn’t sound like a fantasy…
you: listen, if she hadn’t been such a manipulative little snake, I wouldn’t have had to consider it 🐍
Luke: terrifying. but honestly? fair.
Jack: I could’ve handled her myself, you know.
you: oh, really? because from where I was sitting, she had you wrapped around her finger like a puppet.
Quinn: she’s not wrong!
Jack: whose side are you on?
Quinn: hers. always.
you: damn right honey. and don’t worry, I’m not plotting her demise anymore… unless she tries to come back. then all bets are off.
Jack: remind me to never date again. you’re scarier than Quinn’s slap shot.
You grinned as the banter flew back and forth, but your focus shifted to Luke. His disastrous date still didn’t sit right with you.
you: okay, but seriously, Lukey. I've heard some gossip. how does a girl ditch you mid-dinner? you’re literally the sweetest human alive.
Luke: THANK YOU! finally, someone gets it.
Jack: don’t encourage him. he needs to toughen up.
you: excuse me? let him be sweet! not every guy needs to have your level of 'I’m too cool for feelings,' Jack.
Quinn: valid point.
Luke: thank you, Quinn.
you: honestly, Luke, I’ll never understand how she left. did you say something weird?
Luke: no!!! I was perfectly normal.
Quinn: “normal” is a stretch…
Jack: is this really the same guy who told a girl on a first date he’d make six different accounts just to sort himself into Hufflepuff six different times because he didn’t 'trust the algorithm'?
Luke: OKAY, THAT’S DIFFERENT. I was being honest!
you: oh, Lukey. you’re lucky you’re adorable because that is painful 😂
Luke: this is why I didn’t want to tell you guys.
Quinn: bro, it’s fine. just embrace the awkward puppy vibe. it’s clearly your brand.
Luke: I hate you.
Jack: ugh, why does he get the sympathy? roast him more guys!!! I can’t be the only one taking L’s here.
you: because Luke doesn’t put ketchup on his eggs like a serial killer, Jack.
Luke: yeah, what is WRONG with you? ketchup on eggs? really?
Jack: you people are so dramatic. it’s normal.
Quinn: nothing about that is normal.
you: thank you, Quinn. once again, the only rational person in this chat.
Jack: stop flirting with my brother. it’s disgusting.
Luke: seriously. I can feel the weird vibes through my phone.
You smirked, knowing exactly how to push their buttons.
you: you’re just mad because Quinn’s risotto is the best thing I’ve ever tasted.
Quinn: best risotto AND lasagna. don’t forget!
you: how could I? it’s the only reason I keep you around. And of course your magic 🍆
Quinn: oh, not my sparkling personality? btw you're objectifying my body...
you: hmm… maybe that too. but i have my priorities straight!
Jack: 🤢 STOP. this is disgusting.
Luke: seriously. this is TMI guys!!
you: just jealous, you two can’t even scramble eggs properly.
Quinn: cooking skills = key to a woman’s heart.
Luke: ugh. golden child strikes again.
Jack: some of us don’t need to cook because we have charisma, thank you very much.
Quinn: does your charisma excuse ketchup on eggs? because it shouldn’t.
Luke: still the biggest red flag in this chat.
Jack: Y’ALL ARE SO DRAMATIC.
You smiled at their bickering, your heart full, untouched by their chaos.
you: okay, but for real… I miss you guys 💔.
Luke: aww, finally some love.
Jack: are you feeling okay?!
you: don’t get used to it. but yeah, I miss you. Quinn, risotto night when you’re home! Jack and Luke, you can come eat it too.
Quinn: deal. but I’m ignoring them for the first hour I’m back. i need my time with you!
Luke: RUDE!
Jack: gross. is this the flirting portion of the chat? can we not?
you: love you too, boys. even if you’re disasters.
Jack: love you too. now stop flirting with Quinn before I puke.
Luke: seriously. save it for your own chat.
Quinn: jealousy doesn’t look good on you two.
Luke: jealous of what? your cooking? maybe. your 🍆? absolutely not.
you: you should be Lukey! your brother got some great 🍆
Jack: I’m OUT.
Luke: same.
Quinn: good job hon. guess it’s just us now. you: just how I like it 😘

okok hear me out pls. paige bueckers x reader wife where in r is pregnant and is due any day now but paige is still on an away game.
after paige’s win she was interviewed and was asked about when will the baby arrive. she says in the camera to “hold it in”. this was honestly based off of diana taurasi’s interview iykyk. hoping you could give this one a try. i’ve been longing for paige’s family series plssss thank u so much!
DUE DATE
PAIGE BUECKERS X FAMILY READER
comments: i have so many people asking about paige’s family , so sorry for it being on the back burner but keep the requests coming. and dt interview is elite.
warnings:none.
it had been a long, tense few days for both of you. paige was away for a game, and you, feeling the weight of pregnancy’s final stretch, were stuck at home, your body aching more and more as each hour passed. your due date was fast approaching, and every minute you felt like this could be the moment when your water would break, when the baby would finally make their grand entrance. you had never felt so much anticipation, but you had also never felt so alone in the waiting.
paige, on the other hand, had her game to focus on. she was playing her heart out, doing what she does best—putting on a show, leading her team, and pushing through any pain of her own to make sure her team came out victorious. you knew how much this game meant to her, how much her role on the court had become a part of her identity, and you were proud of her. but that didn’t make the ache of her absence any easier. you are in constant fear that the baby will come sooner than paige can get back to you.
when you checked your phone, there was a message from paige that made your heart skip a beat.
“hey babe, i miss you. how’s everything? can’t wait to see you soon 💙”
you smiled at the message, clutching your phone to your chest. she was on your mind every second of the day, and you could only imagine how hard it was for her to be so far away, knowing that you were on the verge of giving birth to her child.
just as you were about to respond, you saw a notification that made your heart flutter—a notification for the post-game interview. paige had just helped her team win, and now she was standing in front of the cameras, looking stunning, as usual. but what really caught your attention was the question they asked her.
“so, paige, your wife is pregnant and due any day now. do you have any updates? is she still holding up okay?”
paige smiled into the camera, her eyes sparkling despite the exhaustion from the game. and then, in a moment of pure humor and relief from the tension she was feeling, she did something you never expected.
“hold it in,” paige said with a wink, a playful smirk tugging at the corners of her lips. “just a few more days, alright?”
the reporters laughed, some of them clearly taken aback by her humour, but everyone could see the love in her eyes. she was still thinking of you, despite everything, and that small gesture made your heart swell. paige always knew how to make you laugh, how to ease the tension, even when it felt like everything was about to fall apart.
you laughed softly, knowing exactly what she meant. it wasn’t just about the baby holding out a little longer; it was about the balance she found between everything she had to juggle—the game, her career, and the life you two were building together.
as soon as the interview ended, you texted her back,
“trying my best p, but you need to get your ass back here”
a few moments passed, and then your phone buzzed. paige’s response came through immediately, her tone light but full of that familiar warmth you always cherished.
“ i’ll be there as fast as i can. i need to be there for you, baby. just a little longer, okay?”
you smiled, the anxiety of the moment easing, knowing that paige was thinking of you, even in the midst of a victory. it wasn’t just the game that made her perfect for you—it was moments like this, when she made you feel like everything would be okay, even when things were uncertain.
just a little longer, you thought, glancing down at your belly. and with paige’s words echoing in your mind, you settled into bed that night, feeling the soft kicks of the baby inside you, knowing that soon, everything would change, and you’d finally be able to welcome your little one into the world.
thanks for reading, i can do the next day when she’s home if you’d like.

Reader sending Ambessa drunk texts that make no sense along with funny photos of crazy stuff their doing
✞⛧ Drunk texting Ambessa (Drabble) ✞⛧
The soft glow of the fireplace in Ambessa’s study illuminated her sharp features as she reviewed the day’s reports. She was deep in thought, her focus unwavering, when the sharp ping of her communicator interrupted the silence.
Ambessa glanced at it, her brow furrowing as she saw your name pop up. Normally, you didn’t text her at this hour, especially not repeatedly. But tonight, the messages came in rapid succession.
You: “Ambesssaaaaa guess what???? 😍😍😍”
Ambessa raised an eyebrow but smiled softly at the sight of your overuse of emojis. She typed back a quick response.
Ambessa: “What is it, my love?”
Her communicator buzzed immediately with a photo.
You: (Attachment: a blurry photo of you crouching in what looks like a bush, holding a traffic cone like it’s a priceless treasure.)
You: “I found him. His name is Gerald. We’re best friends now.”
Ambessa stared at the image, her lips twitching as she fought back a laugh. You were clearly drunk.
You: “Babe, do you think I could fight a goose? Like… if I really tried?”
Ambessa: “I’d prefer you didn’t fight wildlife.”
You: “Too late. I challenged him. He accepted. Meet me at the park.”
Ambessa groaned, pinching the bridge of her nose. She typed back quickly.
Ambessa: “You better not be serious. Where are you?”
Another photo came through, this one of you standing a little too close to an aggressive-looking goose, holding what appeared to be a baguette like a sword.
You: “It’s okay, I have a weapon.”
Ambessa muttered a curse under her breath, standing up and already reaching for her coat. But the texts didn’t stop.
You: “Do you think the moon is judging me? Be honest.”
You: (Attachment: a picture of you lying flat on the sidewalk, staring up at the sky.)
You: “I told her I don’t need her negativity but idk she’s still staring.”
By the time Ambessa reached the park, her communicator buzzed again.
You: “WAIT. IDEA. We should get a pet. Like a really big one. A bear or something. I could ride it into battle.”
Ambessa sighed, scanning the darkened park until she spotted you near a bench, holding what she could only describe as the saddest bouquet of weeds she’d ever seen.
You: “This is for you, my warrior queen. 🥀✨”
She approached quietly, watching as you squinted at your communicator and giggled to yourself. When you finally noticed her, your face lit up.
“Ambessaaaa!” you slurred, stumbling toward her. “You’re here! Did you see my texts? I’m a genius.”
Ambessa caught you easily, her strong hands steadying you. “I did see your texts,” she said, her voice calm but tinged with amusement. “And you’re lucky I love you.”
You grinned up at her, swaying slightly. “I love you too. Do you wanna meet Gerald?”
Ambessa shook her head, wrapping an arm around your waist to guide you home. “No more stealing traffic cones. Or fighting geese.”
“But babe,” you whined, pouting. “The goose started it.”
She chuckled, pressing a kiss to your temple. “Let’s get you to bed, troublemaker. We’ll deal with Gerald in the morning.”
As she led you away, you leaned heavily against her, mumbling something about how the moon really was judging you. Ambessa just smiled, knowing that as ridiculous as you could be, she wouldn’t trade you for anything.

PART 1
Waking up next to him is like a dream she never wants to wake up from. She’s watching him as his eyelids flutter open, his nose scrunches up, as he stretches his strong arms above his head and groans adorably while looking at her through squinted eyes.
“You been awake long?” he asks her, and she shakes her head no.
He’d spooned her last night, she remembers, they both needed that closeness without crossing too many lines, and already she’s feeling withdrawals, missing having his body heat along her back. It isn’t awkward now, but the tension can definitely be felt in the air.
“Good. When do you need to get back to New York?”
She thinks about it for a minute, heart beating fast. Is he asking to be polite or is he asking so they can make plans to see each other? She hopes to God it’s the latter.
“On Wednesday. I made plans with some friends to hang out while I’m still here.”
He hums, scratches the back of his shoulder.
“Wanna give me your number? I’d quite like to see you again.”
Trying hard to keep her screaming internal, she reaches over to the bedside table and hands him her phone, watching as his nimble fingers type in his digits before pressing the call button.
“Think my phone’s dead but the call should’ve gone through. Now we can text each other.”
She smiles warmly. “I’d like that.”
They don’t keep their eyes off each other as they get dressed, him slipping into last night’s clothes and her into some fresh ones, and she can feel the want for him pool deep in her stomach, bitter at everything they didn’t get to experience yesterday, glad about what they did get to do.
“Hey, just one second, (Y/N),” he stops her as she’s about to leave the room and she turns, looks up at him when he steps close. “I’m gonna take the advice you gave me yesterday, but I don’t want you to feel like you’re a second option, a rebound, anything like that. I enjoyed yesterday immensely.”
Her heart flutters at his consideration, but she only smiles and puts a hand on his cheek, stroking his skin softly.
“I’m not here to make your life more complicated than it needs to be, Nicholas,” she assures and means it. “I enjoyed it too, and I’d love to see you again if possible. If not, then no hard feelings. We can be honest with each other. Friends get to do that, no?”
His nod is slow, the relief basically radiating off of him as he grabs her hand and presses a kiss to her knuckles before opening the door for her, following her out.
Nicholas doesn’t stay for breakfast, but he kisses Cooper’s cheek and thanks him, hugs her with a quiet promise to text her, and soon enough she’s perched on a bar stool at Cooper’s kitchen island, spooning cereal into her mouth and doing her best to dodge his suspicious looks.
“Stop looking at me like that,” she says through a mouthful.
“Not looking at you like anything.”
She levels him with a look, unimpressed.
“Ask what you want to ask or shut up entirely, Coop.”
A slow smile spreads across his face, seemingly shy but his blazing eyes betray him as he asks, “Did you fuck him?”
She expected this, so she answers calmly.
“No.”
“Did you want to?”
“Yes.”
“Why didn’t you?”
The question makes her stop for a moment, unsure how much she’s allowed to say.
“I think you know why. Are you mad?”
He rolls his eyes, takes her hand in his.
“No, of course not. I’d be happy for both of you. But I know that you’re both,” he shoots her a meaningful look that she expertly ignores, “in a rough place in life right now, and I’d hate to see you take it out on each other.”
She nods, understanding where he’s coming from.
“Is Nick going to get the same speech?” she asks, only half joking.
“A much stricter one, I can tell ya that!”
She laughs as she gets up along with him to clean the mess from their breakfast up before she goes to meet with her aforementioned friends, heart fluttering the entire time at the prospect of Nick messaging her.
***
She’s sitting in the park and sipping on her smoothie when she feels her phone vibrate in her pocket. Tuning out her friends’ laughter for a minute, she takes it out to see that it’s from Nick, making excitement bubble up in her chest. She opens it immediately, not expecting anything, when suddenly the words make her want to choke on her own spit.
not to be too forward but I just made myself come to the thought of how tight your throat would be around me. I’ll be thinking about that for a long while.
Two seconds later:
hope you’re having a wonderful day.
Trying not to seem like the mess he’s turned her into within seconds, she does her best to fight off the mental image his message is creating in her mind and reply somewhat coherently.
You’re a fucking dickhead, do you know that? I’m out and about and now I’m dripping. Thanks for nothing.
His reply doesn’t take long, has her taste blood from where she’s gnawing her bottom lip open.
that’s how I want you baby, all the time. see you soon.
She’s distracted for the rest of the day but when her friends ask her about it, she chalks it up to her stressful college courses and tight deadlines. Despite the butterflies dancing in her belly, she’s had a nice time, and when she walks into Cooper’s house later, she’s got a beaming smile on her face.
“Honey, I’m home!” she shouts, taking off her shoes and hanging up her handbag by the door.
“Honeys, please!” comes Stuart’s voice from the living room and she grins as she walks in, presses a kiss to the tops of their heads.
“Missed ya at the party yesterday,” she says and plops down on the loveseat across from where they’re cuddled up on the couch.
Friends is on. She hates that show.
“Yeah, I was sad I couldn’t make it, but Cooper is throwing a pool party tomorrow, so I’ll still get some fun in.”
She’s surprised at hearing about yet another event, but she’s not complaining.
“And drinks,” Cooper reminds him helpfully. “Lots of drinks as well.”
They chat a little, watch a small part of some movie that’s on when Stuart switches the channel, stay up until it’s hard for her to suppress the yawning. Bidding them goodnight, she stands up to go into the guest room when Cooper calls out her name.
“He’ll be there tomorrow,” he lets her know, a kind little smile on his face, and she nods gratefully before ascending the stairs, ready for sleep.
The next morning, she doesn’t overthink it, mainly because she refuses to give up so much power so soon.
It’s just her usual routine; the shaving, the skincare, the comfy bikini, a midi dress over it. No make-up, just her necklace, she refuses to get dolled up for a pool party. From what she knows, it’ll be a much smaller affair than Friday’s party was, and she’s looking forward to it.
“I’ll handle the BBQ, could you just make the salad dressing and carry these out to the patio, (Y/N)?” Cooper asks her, and she obliges gladly.
They set everything up rather quickly, the guests start arriving soon, and she tries her hardest not to stop in her tracks when she sees Nicholas walk out through the glass doors of the living room, hugging everyone he knows before he spots her. The way he rakes his eyes over her body before settling on her face makes heat creep up her neck, and she knows that it’s got nothing to do with today’s temperature.
“Hey, stranger,” he greets her, wraps his arms around her to give her a good squeeze.
“Hey, you,” she smiles, inhales his fresh scent, enjoys having him in her arms again. “How have you been?”
The breath he exhales as he pulls away is deep, it lets her know that things have gone down, but the private smile he gives her makes the oncoming worry in her mind disappear.
“I’ve been alright so far, I’ll tell you about it later, okay?”
She nods, cheeks warming. “Okay. Come find me.”
She allows herself to be open, truthful in her wants, and he chuckles at that, squeezes her shoulder.
“Always.”
They don’t sit next to each other during lunch, but they keep glancing over the table and finding each other’s eyes, and every single time it happens, it makes the heat coil tighter in her stomach. He looks fucking good today, ruffled hair and a loose button-down that he keeps open, muscular chest flashing at every turn. At some point he puts his sunglasses on and turns his head straight in her direction, but she can’t tell if she’s being stared at or not, faltering during the conversation she’s trying to have with one of the girls at the party.
When they’re all full and satiated, they go and find their own things to do: some go to swim a few laps or just cool off in the pool, some go to lounge by the grass and read, some stay at the table and keep drinking and chatting. She decides to walk over to the big tree at the back of the garden, finding a comfortable spot on the outdoor sofa under it and laying down, head comfortably resting on a small pillow. It’s not like she’s hoping he’ll find her there; she knows he is going to come and join her eventually. She just needs a little breather yet again, getting easily overwhelmed in big groups of people.
“And here you are, sneaking off again,” she hears his voice after Lord knows how much time has passed, and she can’t help the slow smile that spreads across her face.
“My social battery empties quickly,” she starts to explain as she watches him sit down at the end of the outdoor couch, but what she doesn’t expect is for him to grab her legs and drape them over his lap, rubbing up and down one foot lightly.
“D’you mind?” he asks, eyebrow raised.
“No, ‘s comfortable.”
They sit in silence like that for a little, just looking at each other, and she can feel a lump grow in her throat. Never has she wanted somebody as badly as him, and the restraint she has to show is otherworldly at this point.
“What happened, Nicholas?” she dives straight in, direct as always, watches him exhale deeply.
“Well,” he laughs, no humor behind it. “I had that conversation with her yesterday.”
“Yeah? How’d it go?” she asks, heart in her throat.
She thinks back on what he told her, that he’s scared to give in to his ex, that he might let her convince him to try one more time, one more moment, one more fuck, and she feels pathetic for how scared she is that he’ll tell her that this is it, it’s over between them before it even started.
“She took it well. I hate hurting her, I really struggled, but she… she didn’t put up a fight,” he explains, and a wave of relief mixed with guilt washes over her, has her breathe easier. “She knows, I think. We both do.”
“You still love her, though, don’t you?” she presses, winces when he grabs her foot and digs in, massages at a sore spot.
His smirk tells her he isn’t sorry.
“Yeah, I do. But she isn’t mine to have anymore, and I am so okay with that.”
“Do you feel bad about Friday night?”
He scoffs, pulls her foot up to his mouth and presses a kiss against it, has her gut clenching from the motion, so intimate, so familiar.
“There’s nothing I’ve felt better about in a while, I’ll be honest.”
She nods, at a loss for words. Wanting to jump him right here, but cautious considering their surroundings. Wanting to have him but wanting to keep building the tension to see what happens when he snaps.
It’s hard having a filter in his presence, so she blurts out, “How many more times have you thought about me having you down my throat since you texted me yesterday?”
“Jesus Christ,” Nicholas chokes and throws his head back, eyes shut as if it’s hurting him to think about it.
“I need to know, Nick.”
“Last night again… then this morning, as I was getting ready to come here.”
She quirks an eyebrow. “Last night before or after you went to see her?”
His brown eyes are wide when she looks into them, they’re honest and sincere, which is why it hits so much harder when he tells her, “Both.”
“Fuck,” she breathes, sits up and pulls her legs to her chest, needing to collect herself. “You’re a bastard, Nicholas.”
“I can’t help it,” he smirks, reaches out to lay a hand on her knee but not moving closer. “What about you? Did you have to help yourself out at all?”
She nods dumbly, unable to look away from his face.
“Last night, as well. Three times. I couldn’t sleep without it.”
A bite to his lips tells her he’s imagining it, thinking about it.
“Did you give yourself any fingers? Or did you only play with your clit?”
“M-my clit, didn’t put anything inside of me.”
She feels the increase of her pulse, feels the tingle in her core at the way he looks at her, devours her with his gaze.
“Why not, little girl?”
“I want the next thing to fill me to be you, Nicholas,” she confesses, lays herself bare and relishes in the devastation her words cause him, the way his jaw drops, his brows raise.
It’s safe, she reminds herself, he’s safe. She can be vulnerable with him, can let him throw her against the wall and trust that he’ll pick up the shattered pieces to put her back together.
“You’re killing me, do you know that? The things I wanna do to you…” he trails off, stares into the distance for a moment. “I’ve never wanted to do them to another person. I don’t even fucking know you.”
“No, but you see me. And I don’t need to know what those things are, Nicholas. I feel them. And I want them, too.”
A harsh puff of air leaves his nose before he’s leaning back, gazing at her, face resolute.
“Go to the room upstairs and wait for me there, will you?”
She nods, mind and heart racing, does as she’s told as she gets up on shaky legs, knees nearly buckling. Making sure her walk isn’t too fast as not to rouse suspicion but fast enough to show him that she wants this, so he can see- and he certainly is watching her ass as she’s leaving- that she’s on board with what he’s trying to do.
She meant what she said: she doesn’t need to know, she feels it.
Arriving in the guest room, she doesn’t know what to do with herself, nerves getting the best of her and leaving her nearly dizzy. She splashes some cold water on her face before cupping her hands and letting the water from the tap fill them, bringing them to her mouth and swallowing mouthfuls before she turns it off. The image that greets her in the mirror is one she hasn’t seen often: a woman delirious with lust, eyes glazed over and cheeks blotchy.
A sound from the outside makes her dry her face off quickly before stepping out, seeing Nicholas shut and lock the door, eyes dark.
They say nothing as he stands across from her and puts a hand on her cheek, runs his thumb across her lips, smiles when she takes the very tip of it between her teeth and bites down gently.
“You’re a sweet one, aren’t you?” he asks, and she nods as he pushes his finger deeper into her mouth, presses down on her tongue and leaves it there. Her hands find his torso, his chiseled muscles to hold on to lest she loses balance, and she sucks his digit into her mouth deeply, hollows her cheeks as they keep staring at each other. “You’re a good cocksucker as well, though, hm?”
She shrugs cheekily, smiles around his finger when he chuckles. She pulls away, then, kisses the tip of his thumb.
“You’ll have to find out, won’t you?”
The way he rolls his eyes playfully is so sexy, takes away some of the suffocating seriousness that has crept into their dynamic without breaking the tension, without diminishing the spark they have.
Large palms frame her face as he looks at her deeply, anticipation forcing her mouth to open in a gasp, and that’s when he takes his chance, claims her mouth in a kiss so sensual that it has her moaning into his lips. It doesn’t take long for his tongue to find hers and he licks at her muscle, lets her in and deepens the kiss, makes it dirty but so full of lust and devotion that she can’t help but stand on her tippy toes to chase after that sensation.
His hand finds her throat, grips it lightly yet makes her feel breathless, a dirty chuckle against her lips breaking their moment.
“You’ll let me in there, won’t you, baby?” he rasps, drives his finger down the front of her throat. “All the way inside?”
She nods, stupid with want. “Yes, please let me. I need to taste you, Nicholas, fuck.”
He kisses her again, then, toying with her mouth as his hands unzip her dress, pull it off her body, leaving her in only her bikini.
“Kneel in front of the bed, with your back facing it,” he instructs, burying his head in her neck and nibbling lightly, grinning at her gasp.
She does as she’s told, has little control over it, kneels obediently and looks up at him with a wet pout on her lips. Remembering what he told her last time, that no woman could ever take his cock down here throat, believing him. Despite its length, what probably causes trouble is the veiny thickness of it, the very thing that makes cunts drip for him being the reason for locked jaws and hurting lips.
The walk over to her is deliberately slow, he’s letting her stew in her desire for him, but she can’t even complain, not when she gets to observe even his most miniscule movements uninterrupted. The first thing she does when he’s right there is fall forward and bury her face in his crotch, over the material of his linen shorts, inhaling deeply. His clothes smell clean but there’s a musky undertone, something so distinctly man that it has her mouth watering.
“Shhh, there you go, get your fill,” he whispers, drives his hands through her hair and she’s so grateful he’s letting her express her desperation how she needs to.
The balance of her body barely allows her to get up on her knees, but she manages, presses open mouthed kisses along his torso, as far up as she can reach. She licks into his navel, kisses down his happy trail, moans as she traces her tongue along the waistband of his briefs.
“Fuck, I’m so hungry for it,” she breathes, “please give it to me, I need it so bad.”
Nicholas chuckles, a sound that hits her right in the chest, and untangles the strings of his pants. She’s glad he’s decided to take his shorts off completely, wrapping her hands around his thighs as soon as he’s stepped out of them and mouthing at his hard cock through his briefs, tongue tasting a salty wet spot and groaning into it.
“Jesus, (Y/N), you’re like a woman possessed,” he growls, all pride and no disgust, and it spurs her on to reach up and pull his cock out, get his underwear out of the way so she can really revel in everything his manhood has to give.
He discards his shirt as well, then, and there he is: her personal Greek God in all his glory, naked flesh for her to devour.
A tear makes its way down her cheek and she’s done with waiting, needs for him to own her.
“Please,” she breathes and smiles wickedly as he grabs his cock, pumps it once, twice before holding it by the base and-
And slapping it across her face, the hit harder than she anticipated, making her cry out with nasty hunger.
“Again,” she begs, and he obeys with a wide-eyed stare, slaps her one more time, two more times before hooking his thumb in her mouth and pulling it open, praising her when she automatically sticks her tongue out.
Nick traces the leaking head of his cock over her tongue, and she could cry when the salt hits her tastebuds, the warmth of his flesh mixing with the wetness on her muscle.
“This is what you were made for, baby,” he says, praises her, talks as if he’s far away. “You’re so fucking beautiful, just waiting for me to ruin you, huh?” She nods her head before shaking it, making sure his precome coats all of her tongue, moans when he orders, “Suck this cock, sweetheart.”
Not needing to be told twice, she engulfs the thick tip in her mouth, sucks on it as she moves her tongue down to coat his length in spit, to ease the way, to make it easier for him to claim the depths of her throat.
“Fuckin’ hell,” he curses above her, hands not ceasing their movement in her hair, and she sees it as motivation to keep going. The louder he is, the louder she wants him.
Some men like a mix between a willing mouth and two skilled hands, she knows, but today she wants to show him just how hungry she’s been for his cock since she met him, so she works her lips around him, determined to not need her hands for this. She sinks deeper and deeper, lets the accumulated spit from her mouth coat him, doesn’t mind the strings of it escaping and dripping down her chin, makes sure she keeps her eyes wide and on him as he’s struggling not to squeeze his shut.
“Halfway there, baby, you’re so fucking good f’me,” he moans, “Messy little girl, just like that.”
She lays her tongue out and takes a deep breath before pushing down stubbornly, eyes screwing up as he goes deeper and deeper, watching his slack jaw and wide eyes marveling at something he’s always wished to experience but never could, not with the women he’d been with before. Relaxing her throat and feeling him push through that last bit of resistance as she fights against her gag reflex, fights to keep it deep within her chest, fights through the pain it brings her not to openly cough at the intrusion in her body. She can’t stand it, not for long, and she has to pull away with a chest-wracking cough, trying to collect herself but delirious with the need to prove her devotion to him.
“Baby, that was amazing, just-“
“Fuck my throat, Nicholas,” she rasps through the tears, gets in position again and takes his cock in hand this time, jerks him a little until she gets herself under control again.
“(Y/N), are you sure? Once I start, I won’t be stopping until you give me a signal, no matter how much you cry, okay?”
Jesus Christ. She nods, determined.
“I’ll tap your thigh twice if I need you to really stop, okay?”
He bends down and kisses her deeply, wipes at the tears on her cheeks.
“You’re incredible,” he whispers before straightening back up, gripping her by the hair and growling, “now open that fuckin’ throat for me.”
It’s animalistic, the way he takes her mouth, pushes his cock deep and keeps snapping his hips up, moaning loudly as she chokes, as she holds onto her own thighs just to have something to grip while he uses her. Inch by inch he fucks himself deep, groans her name, “My good girl, that’s right, show ‘em how it’s done,” knowing exactly how to spur her on, how to give her the strength to fight through her body’s struggles.
She’s gargling out spit, face wet and messy, when he finally, fucking finally manages to bottom out, bury her nose in his trimmed pubic hair, almost doubling over when she then sticks her tongue out until the back of her throat starts burning to lap at his balls with the tip of it, just to show him that there’s nothing stopping her from satisfying the hunger she has for him.
“Ho- oh my fucking- ugh,” he moans, the tightness of her sending him into overdrive, the way her choking and swallowing around his cock stimulates his sensitive head making tears spring to his eyes.
He grabs her by the hair and rips her back roughly, letting her breathe heavy for a minute before diving down to claim her lips in a bruising kiss, in awe at this woman kneeling in front of him.
“Fuck, that felt good,” she laughs manically against his mouth, tears and snot dripping from her face, but they don’t care, they’re reveling in the way they can mess each other up.
“You okay, baby? Your voice is fucked,” he smiles as she nods eagerly, clearing her throat.
“More, please, fuck my face just a little more,” she begs, watching his eyes widen at her request, but she doesn’t care. Now that she’s gotten a taste, she wants more.
One hand in her hair and the other one on her jaw, he pushes between her lips again, keeps pushing until he’s in all the way and pulls her off again, watching her splutter and cough for a second before reeling her in again. Nicholas seems to enjoy that, watching her struggle with her throat full, struggle to catch her breath after, but whenever her eyes meet his in a silent plea, she sees the fire in his gaze burn that much brighter before he goes in to fuck her face again.
“No more,” he pants, grabs her by the arms and pulls her into a standing position, steadying her as her legs give out from having knelt for so long. “Fuck, I almost came down your throat.”
“Why didn’t you?” she pouts, face a total mess but causing him to smile at her warmly regardless.
“Don’ wanna, wanna shoot my load inside of you,” he mutters, makes her cheeks heat up.
“Next time, though?”
He laughs, kisses her swollen mouth.
“Promise, baby.”
Nick makes quick work of her bikini and gets her naked and sprawled across the bed in record time, writhing under his heated gaze as he just stands here, cock hard and dripping with her spit, watching her.
“Spread your legs for me,” he instructs, eyes raking over her form, and with a shy bite to her lip she obliges, parts her legs and lets him look at where she’s sloppy wet for him.
“Need you so bad, I’m all swollen,” she whines, watches as he positions himself between her legs, kisses along her stomach up to her tits.
The first nipple he takes into his hot mouth gets a quick bite shortly after, making her hiss, before he moves over to the second, giving it attention while she rakes her hands through his hair, lost in sensation.
It’s all she’s ever wanted and more, the fucked-out state of arousal that has her mind feeling honey sticky and slow, completely out of her own body. She focuses on his weight on top of her, the way his spit on her nipples paired with the cool air in the room gives her gooseflesh, and soon enough she’s whimpering as he trails his kisses in the direction of her center.
“Finally getting a taste of this gorgeous cunt, been thinking about it,” he murmurs against her mound, looks right at her as he says, “Gonna kiss you where I’m gonna fuck you, my sweet,” before he dives right in, licks her in broad stripes and has her throwing her head back in ecstasy.
All the blood rushes to her center and despite not even having been touched properly, the tension burns, makes her clit tingle where it’s being loved on by his clever tongue, and she can’t help but bury her hands in his hair and push her hips up into his awaiting mouth. Nicholas eats pussy like it’s the most decadent thing he’s ever had, like it melts on his tongue, the way he pushes between her inner lips and slurps at the very source of her arousal. By now he knows how much she loves the attention on her little nub, so he sucks it into his mouth, taps his tongue against it until she’s arching off the bed, only being held down by his bulging arms.
“N-Nick, fuck, fuck no-,“ she’s trying to push him off, the buildup of her climax making every limb tingle, but he holds on, holds her steady until she’s crying, begging, “please, let me come for you, please, please, pl- fuck-“
A hum of confirmation, the vibration of it hitting her core, is all it takes before she’s coming hard, pulling his head closer and trying to bat him away at the same time, and the minute her high decreases and her muscles relax he’s on her, kissing her lax mouth, pushing his tongue deep and letting her taste her pussy on his sinful lips.
“Y’taste sweeter than I could’ve imagined,” he’s breathing hard against her mouth, “sweetest pussy just for me to take, ain’t it? Fuck, I need to be inside of you.”
The “Please,” punches out of her, already wrapping her legs around his torso so he’d slip in easier, giving him all the access and shouting into his shoulder as he slides his cock into her in one go, fills her up until she can feel him in her lungs. She pushes at his chest so he’d pull away, look at her, grabs him by the face and hisses “What the fuck are you, who the fuck- what are you doing t- to me?”
Nicholas’ laugh is amazed, top lip curled over his perfect teeth as he focuses on drilling into her hard, watching her lose her mind under him, watching her give herself over to him without a care in the world. He angles his hips just so, pelvic bone brushing against her clit with every thrust, making her see stars.
“You’ll come for me like this,” he promises, voice shot, “you’re so gorgeous, fuck. Look at you, can’t believe you’ll come for me again, I’ve got you-“
“Nick, please,” she cries, terrified of what her mind is making her body do, “I can’t-“
“You can and you will,” he snaps, grabs her by the face and pulls her close, kisses her pouting mouth. “Come for me, (Y/N), I wanna see you lose it.”
She doesn’t pass out this time but she kind of wishes she did, because the groans and moans and pathetic whimpers that rip out of deep within her are sounds she’s never going to unhear now. If it were with anyone else, she’d be mortified, but he just talks her through it with pride in his voice as if she were his girl, his to coach and use and fuck and lo-
But isn’t she? She sure feels like it.
“Atta fuckin’ girl, that’s right, oh I’m gonna come, baby-“
“Fill me up,” she whispers, lax now, letting herself be used and moved like a rag doll, “I wanna feel you dripping out of my pussy for days.”
“Oh shit, (Y/N)-“ and that does it for him, apparently, as he pushes in impossibly deep and spills inside of her, moaning into her neck and holding her close, filling her body and mind and heart, and dear God, she’s a fucking goner.
The room smells like their sex, like musk, heady and dazed, makes her head spin where she’s laying under him and wondering what the actual fuck just happened. Nicholas’ breathing is labored but he’s still pressing lazy kisses against her temple, arms still around her spent body.
After a moment, he peers down at her.
“You okay, baby?” he whispers, like the atmosphere is something fragile.
She doesn’t trust her voice, so she just nods.
“Was it too much? Are you hurt?”
She shakes her head no.
He chuckles deeply, leans down to kiss her mouth and she can’t do much more than to let herself be kissed, can’t reciprocate.
“Talk to me, love, c’mon,” he requests gently, and when she hears that little nickname, hears the care in his voice, her lip starts wobbling and her tears start running freely down her cheeks. “Oh, baby,” he soothes, lets her cry in his arms, holds her through it.
She’s heard of people crying after sex, especially after intense sex, but it has never happened to her. Laying here, though, on these ruined sheets, face and body and her fucking insides sticky with him, after having been used so mercilessly and still having him hold her like she’s something precious, talk to her like she’s something to be cherished? She can’t take it, the turmoil of the last few days, the last few weeks, paired with the experience of his mere existence sending her into overdrive.
“Let it out, I’m here f’you,” he whispers, shushes her, kisses her head, and soon enough she runs out of tears, only sniffles where she’s hiding in his neck.
Nicholas pulls away, props himself up on one elbow as his other hand keeps stroking her hair, her face, anything he can reach. He’s got a small smile playing on his full lips as he looks at her, and she smiles back, exhausted but satiated.
“’m sorry for this,” she croaks, voice barely there.
Before she can say anything else, he interrupts her, shushes her with his thumb on her lips. “Please don’t,” he says, eyes kind, “I’m so honored that you trust me enough to fall apart like this. Seriously, (Y/N), this is not a small deal.”
She clicks her tongue, eyes welling up with tears again.
“I know,” she whimpers, takes his hand in hers and kisses it. “I know it isn’t, and I don’t know what the fuck to do with this. I- Nicholas… What the fuck?”
He brings her to his chest, holds her close, kisses the crown of her head.
“None of that now, baby,” he whispers, “Now I gotta give you some good aftercare and then we’ll clean up, okay? We can talk later, when we’re both in our right minds. That sound good?”
She nods, says, “I don’t wanna go back to the party,” but it’s muffled against his full chest.
He hears her anyways.
“We don’t have to; we’ll just stay here."
Cleaning up is a quiet affair, they keep each other close at all times, standing under the shower together and just washing each other, hands trailing across the other with no intent to take it further. It’s intimate, it’s connecting, and it’s exactly what she needs to come down from the rollercoaster he’s put her through. Nicholas rummages through the closets on that floor until he finds clean sheets and changes them while she stands next to the bed, wrapped in a fuzzy blanket, watching with a small smile as he wrestles with the fitted sheet.
“Too many workouts today,” he grumbles as he pulls it over the corners of the bed, “I haven’t consumed enough calories today for this level of exercise.”
She giggles at his silliness before she lets herself fall onto the bed, holding her arms open for him to crawl in, settling his head on her boobs.
“Naked cuddling is my favorite,” she whispers to him conspiratorially and he nods eagerly, agreeing.
“Same, don’t nearly do it often enough.”
She’s ready for a nap, she realizes as she lets her eyes fall shut, and soon enough she’s slipping away softly, clutching him tightly.
Unsure if she's dreaming or not, she hears a soft, "I've got you, my sweet. Always got you."

His name is Chuck - LN4
+summary: what do you get a man that can literally get anything he wants at a moment's notice? why a puppy of course! +pairing: Lando Norris x Reader +warnings: mentions a pregnancy scare, mentions cheating (no cheating happens), semi-edited. a/n: this was supposed to be out months ago... oops. I do not give my permission to have my work reposted. I do not give my permission to have my work translated. If I'm notified that you've stolen my work or claim it as your own, you'll be asked to take it down before I'll report you. End of discussion.
What do you get someone that can afford to get anything their heart desires? It seemed like nothing that came to mind was good enough. She could get him the same thing she did the first year they were together for his birthday, which was a brand new, muted orange, lace lingerie set. But repeat birthday gifts were tacky in her opinion. And it's not like she couldn't get him another one of those boudoir books because the last time she did, it led to a pregnancy scare.
Whenever his birthday did come around, they'd most likely wouldn't even be in Monaco, much less in England. It's sometimes hard to plan things around his racing schedule but she wouldn't have it any other way.
"What are you watching?"
Jumping, placing a hand over her chest, "Jesus Christ, Lando! What is wrong with you!"
Lando laughed as he walked around the couch and sat next to her, noticing she was watching the most recent video Mclaren posted of him playing with puppies. Y/n saw the corners of Lando's mouth turn upwards into a smile. It was at this moment she knew what she was going to get Lando for his birthday. Only problem was where she was going to get it and where she was going to keep it until his birthday.
"I had a lot of fun playing with those puppies," he paused. "It makes me wish we weren't so busy traveling to and from countries for races, you know?"
"I can rearrange and clear some things from my schedule so I could be with the dog at all times."
"There's no need to do that, love."
Y/n saw a flash of sadness in Lando's eyes before he rested his head on her shoulder. Despite him saying she didn't need to move things around; she wanted to because that's what you do when you love someone. So, when Lando went off to go stream with Max, she texted Alex.
y/n -> albonooo
how much do you love me?
albonooo -> y/n
what did you do?
y/n -> albonooo
it's not about what I did, but what I'm about to do.
I need a huge favor.
albonooo -> y/n
I feel like I'm about to regret hearing you out but carry on.
y/n -> albonooo
Lando's birthday is coming up and everyone knows that Lando is a hard man to shop for. Mclaren recently did a video playing with puppies and I wanted to get him a puppy for his birthday.
albonooo -> y/n
okay, so what does this have to do with me?
y/n -> albonooo
I'm glad you asked!
When I get the puppy, I need somewhere to put them until his actual birthday.
albonooo -> y/n
Why me though?
y/n -> albonooo
if you and Lily got another animal no one would question it. In case you forgot, you guys practically have a zoo.
albonooo -> y/n
fair.
Now that she had a place to put the puppy once she got it, the next step was to talk to someone over at Battersea. The first phone call she made, no one answered. No one answering wasn't that big of a deal since they were probably busy, and she'd just call back later. When she called back hours later, the woman she spoke to was less than helpful. In fact, she wasn't really directing her in the direction she wanted to go, and the frustration was growing by the minute. Her fingers rubbed her temple, wondering if getting Lando a puppy for his birthday was a good idea.
And the search for a puppy didn't get any better as the weeks went by. Every time she thought she had found the perfect puppy, something would happen, and she'd be back at square one. But just as she was ready to give up and throw the towel in, she had gotten a call from her aunt saying a friend of hers' dog had puppies five weeks ago and could come and pick one out.
There's just one issue.
This person was in England and she's in Monaco.
When she told Lando she wasn't able to attend the Brazilian GP because of a business meeting back in England, he had reassured her it was fine, but she could tell from his eyes he was a little upset. Seeing that look in his eyes made her feel guilty for lying to him since she's never lied to him about anything in their relationship. She had to remind herself that it's a gift for this birthday and it'll be one that he'll never forget.
Arriving in England, the drive to her aunt's friend's house was long since they lived pretty far out, but she didn't mind as she watched the landscape change from the bustling city where houses were stacked on top of each other to the wide-open meadows of the quiet English countryside.
Soon, the uber was turning onto the long rocky driveway leading up to a large stone home covered ivy. Standing outside was a man who she assumed to be her aunt's friend.
The man held his hand out for her to shake. "You must be y/n! My name is Richard."
"That's me," she smiled. Richard led them in the house and into the sunroom where the sound of puppies playing warmed her heart. "Oh, my goodness! They're all so cute!"
Richard stood off to the side, "If have you any questions, don't hesitate to ask."
"What breed of dog are they?" she asked, sitting down on the floor. The puppies surrounded her until she threw a ball, but there was one that didn't move from her side.
"Jack Russell Terrier." Richard smiled when the one dog that didn't move from her side crawled into her lap and fell asleep. "Seems like you've been chosen."
"Seems like it."
A warm fuzzy feeling washed over her body as she gently scratched behind the sleeping puppy. In her heart she just knew this was the dog for Lando. Pulling an orange collar from her pocket, she fastened it around his neck, making sure it wasn't too tight.
"You got a name picked out?" Richard said, pushing off the door frame, gesturing to her to follow him.
"No. I'll let my boyfriend pick a name since it's going to be his birthday present."
"A puppy is quite the birthday gift."
"Yeah, but when Lando did that video with those puppies, I could see that look of longing for a puppy, but with our schedules it was not practical for us to get a puppy. Now that things have settled a bit, I want to get him the puppy I know he wants."
Richard reached into a drawer and handed her a manila envelope. "Everything you need is in there."
"Thanks again for this. I was beginning to think I wasn't going to find a puppy in time."
"It's not a problem, y/n." Richard came from around the desk, "Let me walk you out."
The two quietly talked about how the season was going as they walked to the front of the house, but the feeling of anxiety was there. And that anxiety feeling was still there when she knocked on the door of Alex's apartment to drop the puppy and supplies off.
"Alex, please tell me I'm not crazy for getting Lando a puppy for his birthday."
Alex, who gently scratched behind the puppy's ear, "Oh! You're for sure crazy-"
From further in the apartment, Lily shouted, "Ignore him, y/n. I think it's cute you got Lando a dog for his birthday."
Alex watched as the woman shifted her weight from left to right, mumbling under her breath and waving her arms around frantically. "Y/n, listen. Lando has been wanting a puppy for the longest time, so this is a good gift."
"You think so?"
"Yes! Now head home before he finds out you've been here."
The reassurance from Alex made the anxiety she was feeling fall off her shoulders. And as she walked down the hall towards the elevator, she crossed her fingers' hoping Alex was right because at this point, there was no going back.
One of the hardest things she's ever done was keep this big of a secret from Lando. There were a few times were she nearly slipped but thankfully caught herself. But Lando clocked her nervousness and made a mental note of her odd behavior. It wasn't like y/n to act this way, so did something happen? Did she cheat and was hiding it from him?
As it got closer to his birthday, she got more fidgety, which again was not like her. Y/n wouldn't cheat on him, would she? No. She wouldn't. He knows her better than herself. Maybe it was something else, and his mind was just making things up.
Lando woke the morning of his birthday and instinctively reached over to the other side of the bed and noticed you weren't there. Instead, was a note.
If you wake up and I'm not there, I only went to pick up your birthday present from Alex. This is around the time you say, 'she didn't have to get me anything,' but I did. I wanted to. I'll be home shortly.
Love, y/n.
He laid there wondering what y/n got him that she had to go pick up from Alex. It had to have been something big that she couldn't have just kept at their place. But then again, if she did keep it at their place, he probably would've found it and ruined the surprise.
"Listen, when I left this morning daddy was still sleeping, so we got to be quiet."
daddy? what?
The door to their shared bedroom slowly opened and the head of his girlfriend peaked from around the corner to check to see if he was still sleeping and when he wasn't, the door quickly closed.
Lando tossed the covers back, walking over to the door. There stood y/n, but his eyes instantly went to the puppy in her arms. "Uh... who's dog is that?"
"You weren't supposed to be awake, but he's yours."
"Mine? What do you mean?"
"Remember when I said I had a business meeting back in England and couldn't go to the Brazilian gp? I did go back to England, but it wasn't for a business meeting. It was to go get this little fella."
"You got me a dog for my birthday?"
"Yeah," she nodded her head, handing the puppy over to Lando. "I could tell you wanted one when you did that video with puppies at MTC, so I went above and beyond to get you a puppy."
"Does he have a name?"
"I've been calling him Chuck because an actor from a tv show I watched as a kid and their name was Chuck Norris."
"Chuck. His name is Chuck."

✧₊⁺ what am i supposed to do without you?
✦ synopsis: you don't leave her mind, not after everything you two went through. so when she finally sees you again in a date with someone else, she knows it's time to talk.
tw: minors dni, jealous se-mi, fluff, smut, fingering/oral (r!receiving), a bit of angst
authors note: hiiii, sooo after the poll, this one won!!! so finally, part 2 of guard!reader x se-mi. also im sorry for the lack of update, im super busy with work and also a bit blocked, but tysm for all the requests! i hope u like it!💓
⋆。°✩ "fuck" my head hits the wall as he pushes me.
"i did warn you, didn't i?" he said as i nodded weakly. "and what did you do? you helped a player. not only helped her, you saved her."
"it won't" i tried to regain my breathing. "it won't happen again"
"you got attached!"
"i'm sorry." i whisper to my uncle as he turns around. i know he's mad.
"if he finds out he'll kill you."
"he probably saw the cameras already" i say to him as my uncle frozens in place.
"you didn't know? you didn't... see him?" he asks as i stared confused. "he's out there. playing"
my eyebrows raise in surprise. "playing?" a shiver runs through my spine to even imagine what he would do to se-mi to survive his own game.
"listen to me." he speaks to me in a serious manner as i bit my lip. "i'm gonna delete the footage and you're gonna leave this fucking place and you won't look back"
"w-what? but.. mom and.. dad-"
"i don't want you here ever again. they'll understand" he says as he presses the button, erasing the videos as i bit my lip hard enough. i'm probably drawing blood.
"are they.. releasing her?" i ask as he turns around. he stays still, letting out a sharp breath. "tomorrow. they voted and they chose to stop playing"
a sigh of relief leaves my body as i turn around, putting on my mask.
"t-thank you" i whisper as he gives me a head nod. i know damn well how he is. and i also know he's doing this for me, and it's not easy. he places his black mask on, matching with his black suit as he sits down on his couch. staring once more at the cameras.
⋆。°✩ i sigh as i get home. i softly pet my kitten after picking it up from my mom's.
i sat on the couch, exhausted. my head hurts, i miss se-mi and i feel miserable. i thought i was doing the right thing, but now i lost my job and i lost my.. friend? my girlfriend?
my head on my hands as i try to not cry.
⋆。°✩ it's been two months.
i know she's okay, i made sure of that. but she hasn't texted, called or even came to see me.
and she seems to be okay without me (yes, i stalk her instagram), but i'm not, and that's exactly why i let this happened.
"sam.. no. i'm not ready.." i stare at her.
"look at her! she's a cutie! it's only one date. i know you two will get along great and if you hate her then i swear i'll leave you alone but please. i'm your best friend and i hate seeing you like this, maybe if you try to move on.. it'd be for the best" she begged me as i sighed.
"just one." i say resigned as she shouts in excitment.
and now i'm regretting that, because sam keeps talking about this girl while all i can think about is her.
⋆。°✩ "where did you said you worked at?" she says as i sip my gin tonic, almost choking on it.
"uh.. next question" i reply with an awkward smile as she chuckles.
"you're so cute" she gives me a smirk. "sam said you were really pretty and.. she wasn't wrong" she says, softly caressing my face, her gaze roaming all over my features.
i stare at her nervously giving her a soft smile. she pulls away, turning around to order more beer for her as i cross my legs and let my eyes wander around the place to distract myself.
it's a pub, and although it's dark i can see the purple details it has. the bar fully equipped with all the finest alcohol, se-mi sitting on one of the stalls of the bar.
my eyes widen.
what?
my stare focused on her as i feel the air being knocked out of my lungs. she catches me staring, her cold gaze lingers on mine. i can see her surprised expression, quickly turning into a cold one as her eyes go to my date. she takes a sip from her beer, her eyes never leaving mine. i can feel the girl besides me talking but i honestly, i can't even pay attention.
"so was it good?" she asks, snapping me from my thoughts as my gaze leaves se-mi for a second to focus on her.
"huh?"
"the drink.. was it good?" she says as i give her a very forced smile while i nod.
"so good. hey, would you mind bringing my coat from the hanger?" i smile at her as she nods. she quickly gets up to get it as i stare at the ceiling.
what do i do? i leave? do i run to the bathroom to hide? should i talk to her? i keep going like nothing happened?
as i remove my stare from the ceiling, i see her standing up in front of me, making me let out a shaky breath.
guess she decided for me.
she stares at me up and down, her eyes roaming my body. she extends me a drink with her right hand while her left is holding hers.
"gin tonic for you.. like always" se-mi says as i slowly take it. her fingers caressing mine for a second, making me shiver. "you look.. so beautiful"
"don't do this.. please" i beg her in whispers. she drinks her beer while her gaze stares at me intensely.
"i just want to talk to you." her eyes flash with.. guilt? as she speaks.
i stare at her in disbelief with wide eyes. "no? i'm on a date!"
she scoffs. "please, you kicked her out. i know you that much" she says in a low, hard tone. "we really need to talk. please"
my eyes roamed her face, i bit my lip thinking about it for a second as i get up, grabbing my purse as i let her guide me to the way out.
i stop where the hanger is as i see the girl with my stuff turned around. i touch her shoulder as she turns at me with a smile. "hey, i'm so sorry but something came up and i need to leave. you're.. amazing, and incredibly sweet" i speak as her expression falls.
"oh.. do you want me to come-"
"no. b-but thank you" i say to her quickly as i can see her defeated stare. i grab my coat, walking to find se-mi at the door. we get into her car in a weird tense silence until we get to my place.
i leave my stuff on the couch as i turn to stare at her, her hands on her pockets as she bites her lip piercing.
"why.. were you with her?" she breaks the silence as i stare at her in disbelief. is she actually asking me that like a jealous girlfriend?
"why? oh i'm sorry. i didn't realized that after you broke my heart i had to ask for your permission" i dry chuckle as she scoffs, annoyed, but her eyes are filled with guilt and remorse as she stares at me.
"i'm sorry. i.. i know why you did what you did. and maybe i didn't understood at first, and it took me a while.."
"you never called back. you never texted, you never came to see me, you didn't cared to know how i was-"
"i couldn't talk to you! not after... the games. i asked sam about you every single day. i begged her to not tell you anything, but god, there hasn't been a day in where you left my mind" she says, frustrated. her jaw clenches as i stare wide eyed. fucking sam.
i sigh as i lean myself against the wall. my hands cover my face. "what was i supposed to do? i thought you ghosted me. i thought you hated me se-mi. so i tried.. to just.. move on" i say as i bite the inside of my cheek with anxiety. her cold gaze stays on me as she takes a step closer.
her eyes burning with jealousy, darkening as her stare roamed through my body. "did it worked?"
my chest tightens as i slowly shook my head no. she closes the distance betweens us, trapping me against the wall as i let out a small gasp, feeling her hands on my waist. the cold silver rings making me shiver.
she speaks in a low hiss. "it didn't? you know why it didn't worked?" one of her hands leaves my waist, her fingers softly lifting my chin. "because you never stopped being mine" she says as my heart thumps on my chest. our breathings getting a little more ragged.
"why are you doing this? after two months se-mi... it's been two months." my eyes fill with tears as she caress my face with her hand.
her lips twitch a little as she hears my weak reply. "let me make it up to you"
her hands lowers to my neck as she closes the distance between us. our lips smashing together as we both let out a small moan. my hands roamed through her body desesperately until i wrap my arms around her neck as her other hand lowers to grip my hips.
my body melts into her touch, the kiss becoming hard and desesperate, expressing the way we missed eachother. our pent up anger and frustration explodes as our bodies pressed together.
"i love you so much" i whisper in a shaky breath in between kisses, her arms tighten around me as she keeps the kisses going.
"i love you so much too" she replies, her lips never leaving mine as she lifts me up, her hands on my thighs as she carries me to my room. she softly positions me in bed. i lay as she gets on top of me. i kiss her hungrily as she moans. she breaks the kiss to lower herself, her face meeting my center as she lifts my skirt. her tongue licks over my panties, spreading the wet patch as i whimper. my hands grip her hair as she moves them aside, circling my clit with her tongue.
"missed this so much" she says, giving a kiss on my clit as she teases my entrance.
"please" my head falls back as i beg her. i can feel her smirk as she pushes two fingers inside, going back with her tongue, picking up a faster pace as i moan.
she thrusts deeper and faster as my moans get louder. when she feels me clenching around her fingers, her tongue swirls around my clit. she smirks, pleased to have me trembling under her touch.
"gonna cum please, please, please" i cry out as my fingers pull her hair making her hiss. her lips around my clit as she sucks, making me whimper.
i feel the heat on my lower stomach snap, i clench around her fingers once again as my eyes roll back and i finish with a long and loud moan. she licks me clean until i'm whining, overstimulated.
"oh baby, this is just the first round" she cups my face as i stare, half-lidded.
⋆。°✩ i stopped missing her, because she stays right by my side. after a few months, she finally asks me to be her girlfriend, which the question feels odd giving the fact that we're almost living together at that point, but i say yes nonetheless (of course).
⋆。°✩ and when we sleep, she has nightmares all the time. i try to wake her up gently, with soft kisses as i hug her. we end up falling asleep together, always cuddling to feel eachother.
and i have mines too.
i can feel her shaking me slowly as i gasp. "it's okay-"
"i thought i lost you" i murmur, still sleepy but teary.
"you didn't. i'm right here" she says in a cooed whisper. she hugs me tightly, pressing me against her body as i grip her shirt, scared that if i let her go, she'll disappear.
⋆。°✩ and we try to overcome the trauma of the games, the deaths, and it's hard, but somehow with her by my side, it becomes easier.
⋆。°✩ and as we spend all our weekeds in bed, i can't help but wonder what would've happened if i was honest from the beggining. but right now she's here, laying in my bed, caressing my hair as i close my eyes and my head rests on her chest..
and i wouldn't have it any other way.
even if i'd had to go through it again and again. i'd do it for her.

teach please me — tutor!reader x soccer player!rafe
reader's life is meticulously planned, from high school to becoming president of the country—she knows exactly where she's headed and every step to get there. but her airtight plan hits a snag when the principal ropes her into tutoring rafe cameron, the school’s star soccer player, who’s failing algebra and at risk of being benched next season. the team needs him on the field, and reader needs the principal’s glowing recommendation to secure her spot at her dream school. balancing her ambitious goals with rafe’s chaotic charm might just throw her perfectly crafted plan off track.
word count — 4.3 chapter index — prev. chap. — next chap. masterlist
a.n — AAAAAHHHHHHHHHHH
eleven
sunday, february 9th
you'd read and re-read the stoichiometry chapter in your chemistry book so many times the words had started to blur together. no matter how hard you tried to concentrate, the first sentence refused to stick, so you read it again. and again. the mole-to-mole relationships in chemical equations couldn’t do what you so desperately wanted them to: distract you from your laptop sitting smugly on the corner of your desk, mocking you with its silence.
you glanced at the screen for the hundredth time.
still no response.
your chest tightened, frustration bubbling under your skin. you'd never wanted to scratch your own eyes out more than you did right now. your gaze shifted to the blue pen rafe had given you, lying idle next to your notebook. he’d handed it to you after you’d casually mentioned trying to stop chewing on pens. it was one of those novelty pens with a fluffy pom-pom at the end—a ridiculous detail, but it worked. you hadn’t bitten a pen in days.
you sighed, pressing your forehead to the cool surface of your desk. the frustration and restlessness were unbearable. "just get it together. focus. focus, y/n," you whispered, willing yourself to snap out of it.
"what are you doing?"
the sudden voice made your heart leap into your throat. you jolted upright, instinctively grabbing the first thing within reach—a pack of sticky notes—and hurling it toward the intruder.
your sister's stupidly athletic self ducked effortlessly, a bemused look on her face as the sticky notes fluttered harmlessly to the floor. "don't scare me like that," you scolded, your voice stern, though your pulse was still racing.
"relax," she said, rolling her eyes. "mom said you need to help her and rafe unload the groceries."
you froze. rafe? you blinked, sure you’d misheard. "wait, what did you just say?"
but she was already turning away, her athletic frame disappearing down the hall before you could get any clarification.
you shot out of your chair, heart thudding as you hurried after her. she darted down the stairs and into her room, slamming the door behind her, leaving you to descend the stairs alone. with each step, the sound of laughter drifted closer, unmistakably rafe’s—deep, warm, and contagious.
your stomach twisted. your nerves were already frayed, and now they were shot through with the sharp edge of memory. friday’s argument lingered, unresolved and heavy. you’d both walked out of that classroom unsatisfied—him with no answers about what happened at the bonfire, and you still clueless about the black eye he refused to explain. his silence afterward, ignoring your text all day, had only solidified your belief that he was done talking to you.
and yet… here he was.
you stopped in the hallway, your breath catching as you caught sight of him. standing in the kitchen with your mom, rafe moved around like he belonged there, putting dishes away with an ease that almost felt intentional.
your eyes locked on him as he reached for the cabinet, your favorite mug in his hand. something about seeing it there, his long fingers gripping the familiar ceramic, made your chest tighten in a way you couldn’t explain.
you lingered, frozen in place, unsure of whether to walk in or turn back. the kitchen was only a few steps away, but it suddenly felt like miles.
"ah, there you are, sweetie! look who i ran into at the farmer's market!" your mom's voice carried a cheerful lilt as she gestured toward rafe, her grin wide. he turned at the mention of you, his movements calm, but his eyes sharp as they settled on your face. "i came on foot, and he was kind enough to offer me a ride," she continued, her voice full of appreciation that almost made you laugh. for someone you'd barely been able to figure out, it seemed rafe had won your mom over in no time.
he closed the cabinet with a soft thud, his gaze falling on you again, drifting down your frame. you caught the flicker of amusement in his expression as his eyes lingered on your legs, bare except for the well-worn university hoodie your dad had given you and a pair of shorts. his scrutiny was quiet but obvious, and it made your skin prickle, though you couldn’t quite decide if it was irritation or something else entirely.
and there it was—the reason you couldn't get past the bonfire, the reason even standing in the same room as him sometimes felt unbearable. it wasn’t just the way he looked at you, though that was part of it, his blue eyes holding something electric, like you were the only girl in the world. it wasn’t just the way his attention made your heart stutter, like you were under a spell you couldn’t shake. it was the way your mind twisted it all, painting vivid, cruel images of him looking at someone else like this.
looking at any girl like this. every girl. seeing his gaze soften like it did for you, feeling that same magnetic pull that left you breathless, making her feel exactly the way he made you feel. it made you want to throw up.
"how friendly," you muttered under your breath, stepping into the kitchen to busy yourself. your eyes skimmed over the contents of your mom’s shopping bags, your attempt to distract yourself entirely unconvincing.
"are you okay? you’re a little sweaty," your mom asked, her hand brushing your forehead with gentle concern.
"just my period," you replied softly, leaning into the touch as she pulled you into a warm embrace.
her arms wrapped around you, and you rested your head against her shoulder, but your eyes found rafe’s again. he hadn’t looked away, his gaze steady, unreadable.
"i’ll make you a cup of tea, yeah?" your mom offered, her voice soft in your ear.
"mhm, thanks, mom," you murmured.
"do you need a heat pad?" she added.
"already got one," you replied with a faint smile, trying to shake the weight of the moment.
she pulled back, her hand brushing over your arm before glancing toward rafe. "be sure to send rafe down if it cools so i can reheat the water, okay? you’ll do that for her, right?"
rafe didn’t miss a beat, his voice low but certain. "and more."
you felt your pulse stutter, but you didn’t dare let yourself read into it. not now. not again.
it’s only when you’re right in front of the stairs that you stop and turn to him. “you didn’t get my message?”
“i did get your message.” he says it like it’s a minor detail that doesn’t change anything.
“and you’re here.” you state and move up one step because you don’t like that he’s taller than you right now.
he raises his brows, looking up at you, “you’ve never dictated my whereabouts before..”
you cross your arms, “i thought you were mad at me.”
“i think you might be my hill.”
his hill?
“my hill to die on.” he clarifies and you’re quiet for a moment and then another because why why why would he say something like that?
your heart sort of feels like it’s being squeezed.
you don’t say another word as you climb the stairs together, you don’t say a word when you sit at your desk, your chemistry notes waiting, unread and you don’t say a word when he sits on your bed, facing you.
"not gonna talk to me?" he asks, his voice low and even, but you keep your eyes on the notes in front of you, pretending with all the strength you can muster that he isn’t sitting there, watching your every move.
"why’d you even let me into your room if you weren’t going to talk to me?" he asks again, the hint of a smirk in his tone that grates on you.
you roll your eyes, the response instinctual. he was six feet tall—what were you supposed to do? block the door? he wouldn’t have listened even if you’d told him to leave, and you both knew it.
"okay," he says suddenly, standing and crossing the room toward you. he crouches down beside you, his movements deliberate, his presence impossible to ignore now. "you’re still mad i didn’t tell you what happened friday, and i’m mad you won’t tell me what happened at the bonfire. it cancels out. we should just not be mad anymore," he says, as if it’s the simplest solution in the world.
you finally turn to look at him, and he’s close—too close. your eyes drop to the bruise beneath his eye, still swollen and tender-looking, as raw as it had been on friday. your frown deepens, and before you realize it, your hand lifts, fingers reaching toward the edge of the discoloration. but you stop short, your fingertips hovering before dropping back into your lap. you turn away again, determined not to give in to the pull of him.
you try to focus on your notes, the words swimming on the page. then, without warning, he grabs your book and tosses it onto your bed.
you don’t react, not really. instead, you reach for your laptop and pull up the pdf version, scrolling without looking at him.
"are you fuck—" he starts, catching himself when your glare sharpens on him, "—freaking serious?"
you turn back to your screen, your silence louder than any retort.
he closes your laptop with a single motion, holding it down when you try to open it again. your frustration boils over, and you stand, but he pushes you back into the chair, his movements unrelenting.
"you know you’re being a brat, right?" he says, his tone somewhere between amusement and exasperation. you cross your arms, staring straight ahead, refusing to engage.
with a scoff, he turns your chair so you’re facing him. your head swivels away, determined not to meet his gaze.
"i can’t believe this," he mutters, the disbelief laced with dry humor.
he could scoff and huff and puff all he wanted. you weren’t going to say a single word until he told you what happened friday. it didn’t matter if he thought you were being a brat, or if it wasn’t fair to withhold your own truth about the bonfire while expecting him to spill his.
the bonfire was different—separate. telling rafe what you saw would mean telling him why you reacted the way you did, and what was the point of all that when you were determined to weed out these feelings anyway?
because they would pass. they had to pass.
you’d read countless articles that said as much—this infatuation, this pull, was temporary. fleeting. give it ten, maybe fifteen business days, and you’d be fine. you’d be back to normal. telling him would only ruin something that didn’t need to be ruined, would risk losing him prematurely for something that wasn’t permanent.
"jesus christ, fine," he sighed, the frustration thick in his voice as he leaned back and sank onto your bed. he patted the spot next to him, his hand heavy on the comforter. "come here," he ordered, his tone leaving no room for argument.
you hesitated for just a moment before obeying, standing and crossing the small space between you. settling onto the bed beside him, your leg brushed against his, the proximity setting your nerves on edge.
"i’ve been… i’ve been in a shit mood all week, you know?" he began, his voice quieter now, almost hesitant. he exhaled heavily and ran a hand through his hair. "and i guess i’ve been kind of a buzzkill. just… i’ve had a lot on my mind. about sarah, about soccer, my dad… and about you."
your breath caught at his admission, your fingers curling into the fabric of your shorts.
"it’s not like i can’t talk about it with my friends," he continued, his words slower now, more deliberate. "it’s just… i don’t have my thoughts straight yet. haven’t even worked through it myself, you know? but topper…" rafe broke off with a frustrated sigh, his jaw tightening. you could practically see the scene playing out in his head. "topper doesn’t like it when i don’t talk about shit. he’s always on edge, scared i’ll slip into… old habits if i don’t deal with my crap. so, he pushes. and pushes. and i was already pissed off, already had too much to drink, and he kept getting in my face, asking me what my problem was."
rafe’s hands flexed, his fingers pressing into his thighs like he was trying to contain the memory. "so i tell him to fu—to piss off," he corrected himself, glancing at you briefly. "but he just kept going, and i was done. i was ready to walk away, ready to just leave. and then…" his voice faltered, the weight of his words hanging in the air between you.
you frowned, leaning closer without even realizing it. "and then what?" you asked softly, your voice barely above a whisper.
he turned to look at you, and the guilt in his eyes made your stomach twist.
"rafe," you pressed, your heart pounding. "what did he say? was it about me?"
he looked away, his hand dragging across his face like he could erase the tension in his features. "the details don’t really matter," he said, his voice low and evasive.
"no," you said sharply, shaking your head. "no. i want to know. tell me."
"it’s stupid," he muttered, his tone filled with reluctant anger. "he’s stupid—"
"you got into a physical fight over it. it can’t be that stupid," you argued, your gaze fixed on his.
rafe hesitated, his lips pressing into a tight line, as if debating whether to tell you.
"rafe,"
he exhaled sharply, his shoulders tense. "he said…" rafe hesitated again, his voice quieter now, tinged with anger and something softer—regret, maybe. "he said i should cut off ‘that goody-goody, prissy bitch’ because i was in a way better mood before i met you."
the words hit you like a punch to the gut. your shoulders sagged, and your gaze dropped to the floor. you took a shallow breath, exhaling slowly as the weight of his admission settled over you.
"and then?" you asked quietly, your voice steady but barely audible.
"y/n—" he started, but you cut him off, your head snapping up to meet his eyes.
"and then?"
rafe sighed, running his hand through his hair again, the strands sticking up messily. "i told him to come again. i don’t even remember what he said next, honestly. all i caught was sarah’s name and something muffled before i… slammed him into a wall and kneed him in the face. he got one punch in, but i fractured his nose and he looks like shit, so… i’m pretty pleased with that part."
a dry, humorless laugh escaped him, but you couldn’t bring yourself to smile. his words lingered in your head, sharper than the bruise on his face, harder to ignore than the ache settling in your chest.
"i'm sorry..that this all happened." you said and he shook his head, "it's not your fault. don't apologise." it felt a little your fault. or maybe a lot. you can imagine that if you never tutored rafe in the first place, this wouldn't have happened.
your gaze stayed fixed on the floor, avoiding his entirely, but rafe wasn’t having it. he leaned forward, lowering his head until his eyes found yours. "topper’s an asshole," he said bluntly. "and honestly, i’m probably gonna kick his ass again the next time i see him."
a small, unwilling smile tugged at your lips. "don’t do that," you whispered, the diplomat in you rising instinctively.
"no?" he asked, grinning in a way that made your heart flutter and your stomach flip. "don’t think he deserves a matching one?" he gestured toward his own black eye, the faint shadow of a bruise still etched into his face.
the truth was, topper probably did deserve it. but you bit your lip, shaking your head anyway, even as you silently agreed.
"he’s not wrong, though," you admitted quietly, the words slipping out before you could stop them.
rafe rolled his eyes with a sharp exhale. "fuck him and fuck whatever he has to say about you. he doesn’t know a thing about you."
you nodded slowly, your heart both heavy and a little lighter at the same time. "hmm… doesn’t change that i’m pretty prissy. and, you know, a serious goody-goody," you said with a wry smile. "maybe not the bitch part though."
rafe pulled a face, a mix of disbelief and irritation. "just because you’re not downing a beer crate every weekend or hooking up with half the town doesn’t make you prissy—or a goody-goody. topper’s just being a dickhead, and he knows it."
his words made you freeze. your breath hitched, your body tensing almost imperceptibly, but not enough to escape his notice.
rafe’s brows lifted, his tone shifting as a teasing grin spread across his face. "unless…" he started, leaning closer, his voice playful. "you are secretly an alcoholic?"
you let out a small, breathy laugh despite yourself, shaking your head and turning away. you didn’t want to have this conversation—not anymore.
"then…" he pressed, undeterred. "some boyfriend? or… boyfriends? that i should know about? or girlfriend?"
your pulse quickened, and you bolted upright, crossing the room in a hurry. you stopped at your bookshelf, your fingers brushing over the spines of the books as though you were searching for something specific. "um, no," you muttered, your voice clipped and quiet.
behind you, his voice came, laced with that maddening curiosity. "how long has it been?"
you froze, turning your head just enough to glance at him, wary. "how long has what been?"
his knowing smirk deepened, and the glint in his eye told you he already knew the answer—or thought he did. "how long has it been since you’ve gone fourth base, teach?"
your brow furrowed, and you blinked at him, the term pulling at a distant, foggy memory from freshman-year sex ed. "fourth base?" you repeated in a whisper, trying to piece it together.
he stopped moving, his gaze locking on yours with a mixture of disbelief and something softer—was it pity? "wait," he said, the realization dawning on him. "you’ve never…" his voice trailed off, leaving the implication hanging thick in the air.
your cheeks burned hotter, and you blinked rapidly, refusing to answer until you were absolutely sure of what he meant. "is that…hands stuff?" you asked, the words leaving your mouth before you could stop them.
his jaw slackened, and his shock only deepened. "you’ve never had se—"
"shut up!" you snapped, spinning away from him so he couldn’t see your mortified expression. "i’ll have you know that it is completely normal!"
"okay, yes, but…" his tone shifted, almost as if he were genuinely concerned now, which only made it worse. "you’ve done, like, third-base stuff, right?"
the way he threw these terms around so casually grated on your nerves, especially since you had no idea what half of them meant. you glared at him, crossing your arms defensively. "enough with the baseball analogies! speak english!"
he chuckled softly, and the sound only added to your irritation. "okay, fine. have you done… you know, under-the-clothes stuff?" he clarified, his voice gentler now, but it didn’t soften the blow.
your silence stretched too long, and you saw the understanding flicker in his eyes before he even whispered, "shit…"
he hesitated, then asked, almost cautiously, "have you even had your first kiss?"
you turned sharply, glaring daggers at him. "of course," you snapped, though your voice lacked conviction. "i’ve kissed… two guys." the last part came out so softly it barely registered, even to you.
"repeat that?" he asked, leaning forward like he didn’t quite believe what he’d just heard. his eyes were wide, filled with something you couldn’t name—disbelief? Amusement?
"two guys," you hissed, louder this time, but it still didn’t sound like much.
"oh my god," he said slowly, nodding as though he were processing groundbreaking information. "so… two boyfriends?"
you shook your head quickly. "one boyfriend. the other was…" you hesitated, cringing inwardly. "seven minutes in heaven."
that did it. rafe’s quiet laughter bubbled up, low and persistent as he shook his head. "seven minutes in heaven?" he echoed, his grin widening.
"stop!" you demanded, but he was already smiling too broadly to take you seriously.
"who were the guys?" he asked, and you stared at him, debating whether or not to answer. finally, with a shrug, you muttered, "danny watson."
that made him stand up, his eyes wide with exaggerated disbelief. "danny watson?" he repeated, his tone bordering on incredulous. "the one who’s always wearing a fanny pack?"
"he’s really nice!" you argued, crossing your arms tighter over your chest. "and smart! and—whatever, i don’t have to explain myself! i also dated jeremy dunn in freshman year. very, very briefly."
"so, basically…" he said, grinning like he’d cracked the case, "you’ve never been kissed."
"yes, i have!" you shot back, standing taller as though it might add weight to your words. "maybe they weren’t the perfect, romcom kisses, but they were real kisses."
he raised an eyebrow, clearly unconvinced. your defensiveness only made it worse, but you couldn’t help yourself. the way he was looking at you, like you were some sort of anomaly, made you want to claw back every ounce of dignity you had left.
how many girls had he kissed? the thought burned in your chest. if cora was right and he got with a different girl every day, that had to be at least seven hundred girls in the past three years. you even gave him the benefit of the doubt and limited it to weekdays. still, the sheer number made you dizzy.
and here he was, standing in your room, acting like your two measly kisses were some kind of tragedy.
"they weren’t real kisses," he said, his voice low and certain. "you wouldn’t be talking about them like this if they made you feel even a sliver of what a real kiss should feel like." god, here comes the kissing connoisseur.
"okay, enlighten me," you said, exhaling a sigh and trying to sound disinterested, even though your pulse had quickened, and your curiosity was clawing at you.
he shifted, leaning casually against your desk, his arms crossed as he faced you. "unless your first is with someone you really like, it’s gonna be shit. and even if it is with someone you really like, if you’re both bumbling idiots—and let’s be honest, you probably are—it’ll still feel like shit."
your mind flickered back to those two kisses. they hadn’t been bad. they were just…kisses. no fireworks, no earth-shattering revelations. kind of like when your grandma kissed your cheek—sweet, familiar, forgettable. that wasn’t bad, right? you loved your grandma.
"but once you’re older, and you’ve got your eye on someone?" his voice softened, drawing you in like a moth to a flame. "imagine you’re at a party. you’ve been watching each other all night, and you just keep moving closer, little by little. it’s not even intentional—it’s like there’s this magnetic pull between you, like the universe is plotting to pull you together."
you were holding your breath now, your eyes fixed on him. on his lips. on the way his hands gestured subtly, like he was weaving a spell with his words. without realizing it, you leaned forward slightly, the space between you shrinking inch by inch.
"then, you’re face to face," he continued, his voice almost a whisper now. "there’s this quiet kind of flirting, just between the two of you. your breaths mingle, and then…hands start to move—into their hair, onto their waist, wherever. suddenly, you can’t tell where you end and they begin. it’s like you just…become one."
his eyes locked on yours, and you swore you forgot how to breathe. his legs shifted, spreading slightly, and it felt like an unspoken invitation to step closer. your teeth caught your bottom lip as you fought the overwhelming urge to close the distance. but it wasn’t working—you kept inching forward, drawn to him like gravity.
"it feels like electricity," he murmured, his voice thick with intensity. "your whole body is buzzing, like you might actually catch fire the second your lips touch."
his hand reached out, catching the hem of your sweater and tugging gently, pulling you into his space. your breath hitched audibly, and your nose brushed his as your bodies hovered just short of touching.
"and then you finally kiss," he whispered, his hands ghosting over your waist, so light they barely registered. "and it’s like the rest of the world disappears. you forget where you are because nothing else matters. it’s just…you and them. that’s it. it should make your head spin, your knees weak, and leave you completely and utterly incapable of pulling away."
his lips brushed yours then, a fleeting, teasing touch that sent a jolt through your entire body. you froze, caught in the electric moment, and realized with startling clarity that if he pulled away now, it might actually kill you.
"if it didn’t feel like that," he whispered, his voice feather-soft and tantalizing, "then it wasn’t a real kiss."
and then he kissed you.
your mind screamed, finally, finally, finally, like you’d been waiting for this moment your entire life. his lips were soft but firm, demanding but gentle, everything you’d imagined and somehow so much more. a wave of heat spread through you, leaving your skin tingling, your head reeling. your hand trembled as it came up to his face, the other fisting in his shirt, desperate to pull him closer.
just as you started to lose yourself completely, he pushed you back suddenly. the abruptness sent you stumbling into your bed with a startled shriek.
the door swung open. "what was that shriek?" your mom’s voice came, cup of tea in hand as she stepped inside.
"she’s in pain," rafe interjected smoothly, stepping forward to take the tea from her before you could so much as catch your breath. "it’s really…getting to her."
you blinked rapidly, trying to reorient yourself as your mom frowned, concern etched across her face. "oh no, sweetheart. do you need stronger pills? i might have something downstairs."
"y-yeah," you stammered, your voice shaky. "that…that’d be great. yes."
your mom leaned down, pressing a kiss to your forehead before straightening. "all right, then." her gaze flicked to rafe, her smile warm but pointed. "rafe, not that i don’t love having you here, but she should rest. i’ll send you home with some dessert."
you watched helplessly as she ushered him toward the door. rafe shot you one last look, a flicker of amusement and something else in his eyes, before she closed the door behind her.
a.n — honestly yn kinda getting on my nerves now….

carrying all 3 drinks, you found your way back to the entrance where sarah told you to meet. a rush of nerves coming over you after the realisation that the most handsome man you had ever seen in your life was not only your new best friends brother, but also the lead singer of city lights. and you were about to meet him.
"y/n!! over here" sarah called for you.
"oh hey guys, here are all your drinks" you passed them around. "so what's the plan?"
"ok so, as you have just found out, rafe is actually my brother" sarah started. "he's asked to come say hey as he saw my story and didn't recognise you."
"what?"
"rafe has to know everyone in my life. over protective brother and that. anyway, we'll wait until the boys have finished packing everything up and then we'll meet them out the back entrance."
"ok cool cool."
"he's just texted me now actually, you ready guys?"
"yea lets go!" kie replies.
you followed the group as they weaved their way through the crowds of people leaving the concert, adrenaline levels hitting high. you've never been in this atmosphere, of course you had been to concerts, but going backstage and meeting the band? you were living out your wattpad fantasies.
you finally got to the backstage area, sarah presenting a badge you didn't know she had "they're all with me" she explained, and the security guard let you through.
you walked through the long corridor until you finally reached a door that said 'city lights'. sarah knocked on the door, and your heart rate picked up, feeling like everything was about to change.
and it did.
rafe opened the door, eyes instantly finding yours.
"and you are?" he smirked, leaning against the framing of the door. "i know most people around here, but can't say i've ever seen your face before. i would remember"
heat flusterd over you with this words, "i'm, y/n. just moved here from obx."
"an outerbanks girl huh?"
"that's me" you returned his smile.
"well now introductions are out of the way" sarah laughed, "should we get going?"
"yea let me get the others. jj, top, you coming?"
two other blondes popped their heads out the door, almost as handsome as rafe. almost.
"kie, john b, bring it in!!" the first blonde, came out with wide arms bringing the two into a hug. "nice to meet you?"
"y/n"
"y/n! well sarah rarely lets us meet her new friends so you must be special" he says as he also brings you into a hug.
"and i'm top" the last boy grins as he shakes your hand. "it's nice to meet new faces, especially when they're as pretty as you"
you giggle at his words, but out of the corner of your eyes you could see rafes breath slightly hitch, like the words didn't sit right for a moment. but before you could turn to look at him, his face changed back to neutral and he was leading everyone out the door.
"i have a quiet bar we can go too, security will follow so hopefully papperazi shouldn't be too bad" rafe spoke as you all followed him out the venue.
a few fans lingered out the back, but you quickly cut your way through and made it to the bar.
you found a table and took your seats, everyone went up to buy their drinks, except you and rafe, who lingered behind.
"so what bought you to new york?" rafe asked you, his head tilting and direct eye contact making you nervous.
"just needed a fresh start." your gaze looking away from him, not willing to tell him the truth, a conversation not needed to have just yet.
"this is a big change then a little beach town. you think you can handle it?" he challenges you.
"what you think i can't?"
"i don't think anything yet."
"hm" you respond, just as everyone starts to return with their drinks.
"let me get you a drink. what do you want?" rafe asks.
"i'll take a rum and coke. thanks"
"no problem sweetheart" he gets up, the nickname leaving your cheeks red as sarah comes to sit next to you.
"ignore him y/n. he'll try to get under your skin"
you laugh in response, "it's fine, i don't mind"
"good." she said with certainty, a hint of something else under her words, like he's someone she doesn't want you with.
someone out of bounds.
rafe returns with your drink and sits down the other side of you, as the rest gather round and pull chairs from other tables to sit.
the rest of the night goes well, learning more about sarah and the people she's introduced you too. becoming close with jj and top, who make light conversation with you and make you laugh, unlike rafe who remains slightly reserved, yet staring at you constantly throughout the night, feeling his gaze like heat on your skin.
as the evening comes to an end, you say your farewells outside waiting for an uber, now knowing sarah and john b live together, kie lives with her other friends you're yet to meet, and the band members all together.
"it was so great to meet you y/n!" jj once again pulls you into a drunk hug "you'll fit in well with us" he grins as he lets you go, the reassurance making you smile as you've bonded with these people.
top does the same, giving you a hug goodbye, as rafe watches you from the side, almost waiting for his turn.
you turn to him, unsure if he was going to go into a hug, which he doesn't, much to your dismay. he half smiles at you and says "i'm sure i'll be seeing you again" "would you like that?" your bold statement taking you, and him by surprise.
"can't give all my cards away" he smugs, as he finally pulls you into a brief hug. "bye y/n" he steps into the car waiting for him, taking one last glance at you.
you hug goodbye to the rest, sarah promising to text you once she's home, and kie and john b thanking you for a great night.
your own uber arrives, now left with your own thoughts and reminiscing about the night. the thought of rafe and how he was to you tonight leaving you puzzled. was he flirting with you? is he like this with everyone? you couldn't deny you felt something their, a slight chemistry only time could tell.
shit just got a whole lot more confusing.

GALA
Notes: Just wanted a little drama with a mix of reader being a silent diva yuhhh, A Noel Noa centric piece hehehe hope yall enjoy! PS: YES, this fic is a bit inspired by Cinderella RAHHH
"Hmm, that dress looks better than the first one. It matches your personality well." Anri said, her eyes looking at your phone screen where the photo of your dress was displayed. You nodded your head, taking into consideration Anri's opinion. You did like that specific dress personally, too, so you were happy that it fit you, at least in Anri's eyes.
"Yeah, I'll just buy this one then. It's actually on sale so I knew I had to get one of these for the Gala. Eepecially since my parents would definitely disown me if I do not wear anything proper, at least by their standards." Sighing, you pressed the order button on the app, shoulders sagging a bit. Your family was invited in a gala held by the company your parents worked in. Due to their high position, your whole family was invited, including your fraternal twin sister.
It's been a while since you met up with your whole family due to the Blue Lock project, but also because you did not have the best relationship with them, especially your parents.
"You know you can always not go, right? Especially since (S/n) is there. Geez, I still wonder why you put up with her. Nobody liked her in our class instead of the boys who just wanted to have a chance with her."
Anri sighed, remembering her college days where she shared a class with your sister. And needless to say, her arrogance in the subject which she almost failed at always pissed her off. It was really surprising as to how someone so...down to earth as you was related to someone like that girl.
You gave her a sheepish smile.
"Sorry about that. She's just like that because of our parents, I swear. And well, she's still my sister. I can't just abandon her like that, Anri."
The woman sighed and shrugging her shoulders.
"It's your choice, Y/n. But, personally, I would definitely cut her off. She's too toxic, especially for you, since we both know how she treats you even if you're older than her."
The conversation ended there as you both were thrust into silence, eating your food away on the cafeteria for both your breaktime when your phone vibrated. It was a text from your mother.
Mother:
Oh, and bring a date with you. Surely, as my eldest, you have at least a love interest and even better, a boyfriend by now. Make sure he's dressed appropriately, too.
"WHAT?!" You burst out, causing Anri to also spill the water in her mouth in shock of your outburst.
"Geez girl! Warn me next tim-...WHAT?!" She screeched too, as she read the text that you forced on her face.
"The gala is happening next week! How am I going to find a date so soon!? I...I don't even know any guys who can be a date." Sulking, you placed your head hopelessly on the table. Your mother thought wrong about you, just because your sister can pull guys does not mean you had the same charm and ability as well!
"Tell me, Anri-san! How will I charm a guy into at least agreeing to be my date for the night! Hmm, I wanna ask (S/n) so bad how she does it..."
Anri can only sweardrop at your words. Really? After all that you went through, you still think you are not charming enough to make a guy pay attention to you when you literally has world class players on their knees, just waiting for you to pay attention to them?
But then again, the lack of emotional connection you had with your parents as well as the absence of love from them may have messed up your perception of all types of love, even romantic love. And now, that made Anri a little sympathetic about your situation.
"Don't worry! I'm sure you'll find a guy who'd be okay with it soon enough-"
She comforted you until her eyes stopped on a familiar man who also entered the cafeteria, the white hair, and the tall build familliar to everyone in the facility, and probably the world, Noel Noa.
It was, after all, a few minutes after 1 p.m., and many of the staff and coaches took their lunches. Noa was one of the latest to do so since he was trying to come up with a better team to start in the next match of the NEL.
Anri knew that this maybe the only way to get you to solve your problem while also helping the guys to finally get over themselves and confess to you.
'I'm so sorry, Ego-san! But you all are legit slowpokes and I can't see her being stressed about this!'
"Why not ask one of the coaches to be your date?" Anri exclaimed, a little louder to make sure that the coach who was busy picking his food on the machine heard. You did not seem to notice Noa, as you tilted your head at her.
"Eh, I don't wanna disturb them, Anri-san! They're already busy enough around here. And the gal of me to show up with someone so famous like them! Besides, the gala is until 12 midnight, and they have training for the next day-"
"What about us coaches, Ms. Y/n?"
You let out a shocked 'eh,' before turning your head to see the Noel Noa, sitting on the table beside yours and Anri's. He was wearing his usual calm and collected face, but it was evident in his eyes that he was curious as to why you were quite distressed.
"Oh, its nothing, Noa-san...!"
"She needs a date on this gala, and she can't find one. She wanted to know if you guys would be fine with going with her." Anri said, trying her best to hide the mischievous grin on her face, and she succeeded to a degree, but the look on her eyes shout that she was plotting something.
"Eh? Anri-san! You don't have to answer that, Noa-sa-"
"I'm fine with it." He said with a straight face, making the nervous and embarrassed look on your face vanish replaced by one of disbelief and shock.
"Huh?"
"I'm fine with it. Just tell me when and what I should wear." He said, trying his best to remain passive, to keep his composure. Deep inside though, he felt happy. Finally! It was his turn to be with you.
"Oh my gosh! Oh my gosh! Thank you so much, Noa-san! I promise I will pay you back for this!!" You exclaimed excitedly, hugging the tall man out of pure glee and emotion, which made him become even more frozen in his place.
Luckily for him, you could not see the redness that starts to form around his neck, a moment of vulnerability and change from his usual no-nonsense personality. But, what he did not remember was Anri was still there, with her having a mischievous smirk as she watched the number 1 striker in the world blow a fuse just because of a hug.
'Oh, the power you have over these football nerds, Y/n...'
"Eh, where are you going, Noa-san?"
Some of the Bastard Munchen players were a little confused to see their master exit his office, but instead of doning his usual track suit that the facility provided, is garbed in a black and gold suit that complimented his features and build.
It was not the first time the striker wore formal attire (being invited into many famous events over the years, and the pictures of him attending are all over the internet) however, it was still a little weird to see him wear a formal attire in a sport setting.
The man's usual cold eyes turned to them, but there was a hidden twinkle in them. An emotion the players cannot decipher, and thankfully, they did not have to do that themselves as he answered their question.
"Y/n's parents have a gala in their workplace where her attendance is a must. And well, she needed a partner to go with her which is where I come in."
He adjusted the sleeve of the suit, not seeing the wide and open mouths of the players. Especially Isagi and Kurona, Yukimiya and Hiori meanwhile, just smirked at the unfolding scenes.
They are definitely telling the other stratums about this in hopes it reaches the other masters. For what? For the drama, of course.
"You? She could have chosen better..." Kaiser rolled his eyes. In his mind, the master was too serious and intimidating to be standing to someone like you, who in his eyes was like a twinkling star, gracung upon everyone with your warm light, yet not enough to blind or outshine them.
And he thinks all these idiotic masters do not deserve a woman like you. Yes, especially the man he wants to go against. After all, why would he wish upon someone who he thinks is not good enough for you? The person that he feels is the closest he got from a parental figure.
Even if the man is almost perfect, it was still a no. He has to be perfect in Michael Kaiser's eyes before he lifts his cold and domineering glare upon them.
But Noa was far from bothered, ignoring the boys' words, and was more focused on fixing his looks. He was not a man who cared about his looks, but he would be meeting your family along with the fact that he had to show the world that he was mlre than worthy being with you (my man forgot hes the number 1 striker in the world)
He looked down at his watch, squinting his eyes a bit to read the time.
8:48 pm
'Hmm, I wonder how she's doing now...'
"Stop moving for God's sake!"
"I'm trying...! But it hurts..." You said with animated tears as you squirmed in your seat while Anri helped you with styling your hair. You both were in Anri's office as she offered to help you style up for the night. Helping you with your more than tangled and messy hair due to the days of not caring for it properly, having to run around the facility to do endless chores, it was even a luxury to put it in a decent updo.
And well, Anri was less than gentle with how she's treating your scalp like it was a barbie doll that had no pain receptors.
"I'm almost done! And...there! What do you think?"
She spun you around the mirror to show you her masterpiece, and you were not going to lie, it was beautiful. Your hair shimmered due to the few products she put in your hair, but the main event was the braids that frame your head, almost like it was its own tiara with a few flower clips on it to make it even more sophisticated yet ethereal. (Decide your own hairstyle around this based off your hairtype:)
Your hair was for once a bit bouncy and not so tangled to the touch that it felt like you were arguing with your own strands, ready to rip it off from your head.
"Wow, from all the pulling you did, it came out really pretty!" You exclaimed excitedly, not believing that the girl in the mirror was you. Anri rolled her eyes at this.
"Told you. Never disturb a magician when she's working her magic. Now let's start with that makeup and change that tracksuit into your dress."
The makeup was really light, just enough to compliment your facial features and make it pop more (because you are lazy when removing makeup and pretty privilege does that to you, reader;), and well, it was not a surprise to see you already yawning at the boring procedure Anri was going through to fix your makeup.
"Geez, have you no like feminine bone to atleast have some sort of...reflex to atleast know the basics of makeup?" She asked jokingly, as she curled your eyelashes only for you to blink your eye uncontrollably.
"Um, I think I do. But its not like I don't wanna put makeup. Its just that, growing up, I was not allowed to." You said which made Anri confused.
"Really? But from what I can see from your sister's social media, she looks to be really good at it, even from her very old posts thatbwould pop up in her timeline."
"Yeah, well she is my family's treasure. She can do whatever she wanted or get what she wished for, I didn't really have any of that luxury growing up. I was the older sister, so of course I have to give up what I want to her if ever she wanted it. And that also included...my freedom to express myself, I guess."
Your voice grow even more quiet as you opened up about your past. It was thr first time ever that you did, atleast to Anri. But, knowing you, she is not surprised. You were always the people pleaser, always so ready to help others even if you cannot anymore. Even if you cannot carry the pressure anymore, you still would if somebody asked you.
Now, it made sense. You act this way because your parents conditioned you to be like that whilst spoiling your younger twin sister. The unfair treatment and lack of freedom you may have experienced molding you into what you are today.
A person who rarely cares about herself has trouble expressing your true self below that kind and caring nature, and does not believe that the people around her can truly love her for who she is.
And that hurted Anri. She loved you. You two have become the bestest of friends, almost sisters ever since this project started, and she hates how lowly you think of yourself, yet look at everyone else, even those who do not deserve it, highly.
You call everyone worthy of care and kindness, yet you were never kind to yourself. And now, she knows the root causes of this.
But, there was hope. There are people everywhere, even just in this facility alone that loves you dearly. The Blue Lockers, who view you like you are their older sister. Heck, even the foreign players like Kaiser and Lorenzo, and the rest started to view you as such too.
Then, of course, there are those you met who love you differently, viewing you in a different light. And Anri hoped that one day, the love of those people will change your mind about this thinking.
'Zwip!'
"There! All done...Oh my!" Anri cheered, her once dim expression brightening once she saw you in the beautiful silvery blue dress that sparkled under the light of the room. You had matching jewellery accompanying it too, but the dress really did make you look like a living princess as it hugged your figure, the skirt billowing to the ground elegantly as if it wanted to match your own elegant movements.
"Huh...it looks really good..."
"Why are you surprised?" Anri said, raising her eyebrow.
"Nothing...just...this is the first time I ever get to pick my own dress. My parents are always the one who buy our dresses for us, and well, I don't exactly get...a flattering one." You said meekly, Anri can only frown at that.
"But your sister's is?"
"I mean...I guess? But she's already pretty and charismatic...she can make an entire room focus only on her!" You happily complimented, just as Anri was about to add into your claim, your phone's alarm rang, telling you that it was already 9:00 pm.
"It's time..." you said nervously, as you put on the pair of clear heels before walking to the door, not forgetting to thank and say goodbye to Anri.
"Your taste in suits is so boring." Chris Prince commented towards Noa, who ignored him, causing the English coach to get pissed off.
"Why are you even wearing that?" Snuffy incquired curiously, rolling his eyes at Lavinho and Prince, who only questioned the man's style, failing to ask important questions. When Noa heard the question, however, he could not help but feel a little proud and smug, the ends of his mouth twitching slightly in a cold and unnoticeable smirk.
"Y/n is going to be participating in a gala tonight, but she needed a date. So, she asked me to be her date and partner for the night."
Crickets.
Well, until the information finally processed in their minds, and needless to say, the three other masters were less than happy.
"WHAT?! You, of all people?!" Lavinho exclaimed as he approached Noa, like he was ready to fight or debate him over the fact that did not deserve to be your date on that said gala.
"My poor Y/n, she doesn't deserve a man like you. I bet she'll be oh so bored in that gala." Prince said, not pretending to hide the fact that he was indeed jealous, as veins portruded in his forehead and neck about the fact that you went with his main rival instead of him.
Meanwhile, Snuffy remained quiet. However the fake smile, dead look in his eyes, and the portruding veins in his neck and clenched fist was enough of a story to tell. He was more than pissed off at what he is hearing.
With the green-face of jealousy leering at the three coaches, Noa knew he had a one up at that time. And needless to say, the faces the others pull made his ego boost up even more.
But, it reached its peak once you entered the cafeteria, all dolled up for the night in your dress. You greeted all of them so sweetly, not even noticing the effect you had on the four professional players. Noa felt proud that he got to be the one who would be with you for the night. That you chose him over the other three (he was just lucky that he was the one in the cafe at the right time, but we don't mention that).
"Umm Good Evening, sorry to interrupt..." You bashfully said noticing that the four masters were talking to each other, thinking that they were discussing something related to the Neo-Egoist League (they weren't).
"It's nothing. Let us get going, Ms. Y/N..." Noa said, dismissing the rest and taking your hand to guide you outside the cafeteria. He did not want you to get distracted by the others, wanting to look at your beauty by himself.
By the time the other three managed to find themselves catching their breaths, you were already waving goodbye as Noa tugged you to the exit of the facility to head to the gala.
"Wha- hey!"
"Tsk, that selfish robot."
Oh...
That's the only word that is repeated in your mind the moment you both arrive in the venue. Now, there were only a few people outside of the venue, and most of them were waiting to sign up to enter.
But, the amounts of stares and whispers that were already felt and heard the moment THE Noel Noa stepped out of the taxi and sweetly helped you out of the car was definitely palpable.
How can you forget that you literally invited the number 1 striker in the world to be your date in a company gala?
You turned so embarrassed and flushed at the attention, not used to it, unlike Noa, who remained as passive and emotionless like he always was, used to the attention someone of his popularity always experienced.
"I'm so sorry for all this trouble, Noa-sa-"
"Why are you apologising, Ms. Y/n?"
You were taken aback at the question, gulping before stating your reasons.
"The attention must be really uncomfortable...and I know you already have a lot on your plate due to your fame and all, and for me to add into it by inviting you here must be making it worse." But he just shrugged, offering his hand for you to take and for him to lead you.
"It's nothing. I agreed to it knowing what the consequences are, so you have nothing to apologize since I made the choice to say yes. Now, shall we get going?"
Blinking at the reason, you gave him a genuine smile before accepting his outstretched hand and headed for you to sign up.
Just as expected, you had the privilege of having a VIP entrance slot along with your plus one, due to your mother and father being one of the top executives of the company. But, as you signed up, a crowd formed around Noa, who looked quite annoyed at the attention he received before he sighed.
Leaning to whisper in your ear, he did not care for the gasps and whispers of a supposed relationship you two may have.
"Go in first without me, I'll deal with the crowd, and I don't want to inconvenience yourself any further. I'll find you inside."
At first, you tried to argue, wanting to help but looking at how he handled himself in front of a crowd compared to how you did, you knew that staying would just make it worse, so you just nodded with an understanding smile and sent him with a cheerful thumbs up before entering the place alone for now.
The venue was beautiful. The ballroom was quite larger than all the previous venues these events were held in. The chandeliers looked magical, mixing in with the gold and cream the whole place was decorated in. Classical music played and echoed through the whole place as well as small chatters from the people already inside. Speaking of the people, there were definitely hundreds of them already inside, some looked to be journalists too, as the camera flashes can be seen here and there.
You felt like a child in the middle of the huge crowd, a bit overwhelmed but at the same time excited. Mainly because of the food that you can already smell being prepared by the chefs and other staff in the venue. You were also quite happy that what you initially thought of being overdressed was proven wrong due to the many bedazzled dresses and suits that grazed the floor, and even better than your measly jewelry, were real minerals like diamonds, emeralds the size of a thumb was around the necks of the women or dangled from their ears.
It was a gala of opulence, a place where the rich people tried to outdo themselves, to compete with their fellow rich friends to become the star of the show.
"Well, well. If it isn't my lovely older sister grazing us with her...presence."
You turned around, already feeling dread at the notion of seeing her again. There she was, her hair in an elegant bun, wearing a bedazzled pink dress that hugged her beautiful features well, elegant black heels, opulent ruby necklace and diamond earrings only befitting someone of her stature.
Your younger twin sister (S/n) was the definition of elegance and power. The dream of every parent, just like yours. The moment she graduated in business school, she immediately entered the same company your parents worked in and rose the ranks quickly, now standing as a president of the company's media branch.
Yes, you had to admit, you were always jealous of her growing up. Being the smarter and prettier twin, since you both were fraternal twins, your features and every characteristic were different. She was always better than you, the bright sunlight to your measly starly twinkle.
But, nevertheless, you tried to be the best big sister that you can. Supporting her even if you felt jealous, and for a while, you two were close when you were kids. But as she grew up, she realized she was the favourite and something changed in her, turning around to try and destroy your life always. Probably because you were older, and she thought that you would inherit everything your parents had if she didn't try to be better and bring you down.
So she simultaneously did that. Better herself and brought you to your lowest. And the sisterly bond vanished.
You loved her, you did. But there was no way you would be fixing a relationship you did not break. You were kind, not a saint.
"Hi (S/n), how are you? It's been so long, huh?"
"I guess it has been. Everything has been better for me. Work has been hard but rewarding, though I doubt I can say the same with your...babysitter duties?" She smirked at first, then sneered at the thought of your job.
She, along with your parents never failed to bring down your role as a manager for a football facility the moment they heard of it. Sure, it got better when Blue Lock TV picked up ratings and was popular all over the world, but you were still viewed lowly. After all, you were not a player or its director or head, just a lowly manager/babysitter of the players, why is that important in their minds? In fact, it brought embarrassment to the family.
You always tried not to let it affect you, but it does hurt to be brought down a peg just because you did what you loved. But, you being you, you just smiled, not wanting an argument to form.
However, as if your day could not have gotten worse, your parents arrived along with a man you recognized for two reasons: he is a popular actor and model in Japan, and he was also dating your sister. You don't know much, but last time you heard from them, he already proposed to her which you were more than happy for her.
Just because you didn't like your family, does not mean you'll be a bitter Betty. No, you would not stoop low like that. Being raised in a toxic environment made you polish and garb a thick skin, after all.
Your mother immediately scrunched her nose at your appearance while your father just looked at you boredly and coldly as he always does.
"Mother, Father-"
"I told you to wear something that would not embarass our family. And what do you do? Wear this childish costume? Preposterous." Your mother sneered, squinting at the cheap fabric. After all, they did not give you any budget to buy a good one and so, you bought one out of your own money.
"This is why you aren't to be trusted with yourself, Y/n. This dress is unfit of someone in the L/n lineage." Your father said with a straight face, shaking his head. Meanwhile, your sister just snickered in the arms of her quiet fiance who did not want to get involved in the family mess.
You just nodded at their supposed advice, too tired of the day to even argue and embarass yourself infront of so many people.
'Tune them out, Y/n...like you always do, remember?'
"And to add to the mess you are, you do not have a partner with you? I specifically told you to bring one. We cannot afford to have our eldest daughter of all people to be gossiped about her future of being barren and alone." Your father continued and your mother seemed to realize the lack of partner beside you, and she became even angrier.
"Wait, I have one tonight, father. He just excused himself-"
"How many years have you used that excuse on us, young lady? Do not lie to us about your imaginary date for the night. You disappoint us with your fashion, we let it slide. But, not showing up with a partner? This is outrageous!"
"Mother, relax. I am sure there is a valid explanation for this. After all, Y/n over here is busy with her career of babysitting to even care about herself. Perhaps that lack of self-care is the reason why men rarely approach her." Your sister comforted your mother who was red in the face. Hearing this, your mother's anger turned into cold rage.
"I suppose. You have disappointed me and your father as usual, Y/n. And you question why me and your father did not pay for your college education in that foolish sports medicinal course? Because of this. You are irresponsible, and you lack anything noteworthy to you. Adding to that, you cannot even do the bare minimum of find a somewhat successful man and give us grandkids that can hopefully not get your genes and provide our family something to be prided by." Your mother sighed, her words breaking your heart. You heard of these words before, but it hurt nonetheless. But as if, the wound was not painful enough, your father decided to rub more salt unto the wounds.
"You are the eldest, Y/n. I already lowered my expectations on you the moment you talked soblate compared to your sister as an infant. Yet, you still wreck my already lowered standards. I gave the expectations of the eldest to your younger sister, who carried them gracefully and smartly, and that load made her better. I thought lowering the load on you would atleast make you a bearable daughter. Starting from now, if you do not have atleast a man to introduce to us of good name, then I would have no choice but to marry you off to the first man that offers to me."
Your eyes widened so big at this, like your worse nightmare was happening. Knowing your parents, they were serious about this. And you didnt want to be shackled in a loveless marriage just to produce kids that you cannot love fully because they were not out of real love. And besides, you were not ready for marriage yet.
"But father-"
"That's final."
"Finally, father. I am so tired of carrying everything in this family. Thank you for putting this...leech to use." Your sister sneered, liking the shock and blurry look in your eyes from unfallen tears. They were like snipers, hitting you in where they knew you were weak quietly. Even literally, as the rest of the gala participants were happily mingling, due to the fact you and your family were in a corner as they told you what they thought of you as privately as one can get in a ballroom.
But as if some sort of deity or god saw your struggle, you were saved by a hand touching yours as well as the silence of the whole ballroom. But the most telling and almost hilarious display of reaction was that of your family.
Your mother's eyes were wide as well as her mouth. Your father tried to maintain his composed expression, but you can see the shock in them, too. But, the most entertaining expression was that of your sister who had the perfect mix of angerr and shock in her face.
But, you wondered, why was everyone wondered. Well, that was until you looked up to find who held your hand, and it was Noel Noa.
The whole episode with your family made you forget the fact that your date for the night was a famed striker all over the world. Everyone knew his name and face, even if they did not know football well.
"I'm sorry for the interruption, but I am afraid she looked to be uncomfortable, so as her date, it is my responsibility to take her away from anything that may inconvenience or irritate her." He said in his usual cold and almost apathetical tone, if it was not for the fact that he held your hand and back quite intimately, a fact you did not notice because you were too tired from the mental beating from your family.
"O-of course...Mr. Noa, there is...no...problem with that." Your mother said, putting up her friendly and professional smile she uses when talking to those she knew was superior to her.
Your father stayed silent, but his usual cold, hard gaze softened. Of course, your parents were social climbers, so seeing a man of Noa's status and fame definitely humbled them.
Before anything, Noa guided you into the garden of the place and sat you down on the edge of the fountain.
"Sorry about the drama...Noa-san."
"Again, you don't have to apologise. You have to stop apologising for things out of your control and are not your fault." He said sighing, watching the beautiful colors of the water's reflection. You followed his gaze, as the water showed your face.
The face thay you hated all your life. Recognizing how it was not as pretty as your sister's face. That your sister seemed to have inherited the good traits of your parents while you get their least attractive ones (atleast in your parents' opinions and words), how you wished your eyes were the same shape as your sister's, or the way your nose looked, or even the size of your face. Everything.
You thought you moved on from the self-incarceration. But, the words they said to you made you revive the heartbreak you felt growing up as an insecured teen, a feeling that your parents and sister fueled even more, making you struggle with even the thought that you were deserving of attention and love growing up.
Then a drop fell unto the water's surface, then two, then three, until you were softly sobbing and hiccuping under the moonlit sky and the drowning sounds of the fountain.
Until you felt a soft yet calloused hand wipe a stray tear from your face. Realising that you were crying in front of Noa, you tried to turn your face away and hide it.
But, his reflex and pull were stronger and made you stay facing him. Pulling out a handkerchief, he softly wiped away all the stray tears that fell on your face as he finally spoke.
"You're an angel for the amount of patience you have with your family. I arrived there a few seconds before I stepped in, and from what I heard, I can just imagine what they have been telling you before I arrived. Or even way before that."
"Yeah...I'm used to it. But, that doesn't mean it hurted less, you know? It felt like...all the years of emotional and mental solitude and abuse came back. It played like a movie..."
He stayed quiet for a few seconds, just nodding his head at that. Truthfully, he was given a heads up about your family by Anri, and he was so thankful that she did. He thought it could not be that bad until he heard the hurtful words they told you as well as the preposition of them marrying you off to some guy that asked them first.
Like you were worth nothing.
Which just does not make sense to him. You deserved a man who would be willing to go through hell and back just for your hand in marriage, not some random man who just had to ask and would already get to be the one to see you in a white dress and veil.
But, that night, was definitely the night he knew that his feelings for you was more than attraction now. The first moment he saw your beauty and intelligence in the field, he knew he was interested in you.
But now that he got a deeper look into who you really were as a person, that you were kind, patient, and coolheaded enough to not burst in flames in front of your parents made him love and admire you for your strength even more.
He was a man who thought the saying "Kindness is strength," was foolish. Absolutely unethical. Sure, revenge is not always the best course of action, but getting back at the person can sometimes scare them off from doing the bad things they do again and again, so it is logical to a tee.
But, you gave him a new perspective. That maybe being the bigger person at times of extreme mistreatment leads to the more logical outcome. After all, it was not really you who embarassed themselves in front of the world's best striker that night, right?
By the time you managed to fix yourself and go back to the gala, the small program started. It was not that long, but as you sat beside him in the table where your family was assigned in, you both definitely noticed the new personality your parents immediately had.
Your mother approached him with a smile, sometimes lightly scolding you to fix your posture or your smile, but she was less brutal and she even used the loving mother tone she uses to your sister only.
Your father, on the other hand, was more discreet with his agenda. Asking him questions about himself and his relationship with you.
The two of them saw this as the first time you were being a good daughter. To be able to attract a man of his fame and status was a win in their eyes. They loved the attention that Noa brought to their table, the eyes of everyone, even the ones from the CEO's family was on Noa's.
You tried your best to tell your parents you both were not together, that he was just kind enough to be with you for the night. But, they did not relent. They want you to end up with him not because they want you to be happy, but because they just want the attention and power that having their daughter be the one Noa was dating.
But other than you both, your sister also noticed the attention on you and him and that pissed her off. Not used to not having the attention on her, she was muttering curses under her breath. Wondering how her ugly and incompetent elder sister attracted the number 1 striker in the world. Truthfully, she did not even love her fiance, wanting only his wealth and fame. So she thought that all the people's attention would only be at her's, but then her sister had to ruin it. Bringing a man who is known not just in the country, but in the whole world.
'She doesn't deserve him!' That was all that ran in her brain, to the point she even started to ignore her own fiance, in hopes that maybe, if she tried to act impressive enough, she would get the striker's attention away from you to paying attention to her instead.
'She did say they were just friends, and she doesn't look like she likes him like that. So, it'll be easy.'
Well, it was more of a struggle than she thought when the whole night Noa stuck to your side. With your sister's eyes being more susceptive to romance than yours, she can see the look in the striker's eyes when he looks at you or would do anything for you like getting your food for you, or even kneeling on the ground just to fix the ribbon that tied around your heels.
It was a one-sided love, where you were oblivious. A displacement that was disadvantageous to what she wanted to do.
As the night passed, you both were lucky enough not to be bothered too much, even if almost everyone at the party had some hidden agenda in getting close with him for business of sorts, it was definitely a fun time compared to the other times you attended their company's gala.
When you arrived back in the facility, before Noa can walk you to your room, Anri was already there and dragged you to her own room and helped you get out of your hair, make up and dress while urging you to tell her the juicy details of the night.
"It was a little embarrassing how much my parents wanted me to end up with him, probably just to widen their power of some sorts. And I felt so bad for Noa-san having to deal with (S/n) trying to flirt with him. Hmm, what do you think I should gift him for all his help tonight, Anri-san?"
Anri gave you some ideas while deep down, she laughed evilly at the reactions of your family, especially that of your sister. Of course, that was the reason she set you and Noa up for this as well, for you to unintentionally flex that your job was not for the faint, and that you were not the ugly sheep of the family.
'If only her sister knows it isn't just the number 1 striker after her at all. Ooh the drama that would be bring!'
No additional times for this one I'm afraid because this fic became TOO LONG THAN I EXPECTED LMAO. I don't even like Noel Noa that much yet this happened...I cooked too much I'm afraid chat. But anyways, I hope you guys enjoyed this and yes I AM FEELING A LOT BETTER. This is also a bit of a character explanation for why I made Adult!Manager the way she is (like how she acts and all) so yeahhh, to all who relates to this YOU ARE ENOUGH AND LOVEABLE Dont let anyone tell you otherwise, mwah!

7EVEN DAYS OF WINNING YOU | Iwaizumi x fem!reader
synopsis; in which, he finally realises his feelings, and it takes him seven days to make her his.
wc; 1.1k + 10 smau pictures
warnings; high school iwaizumi, karasuno!fem!reader, they’ve known each other for a while, slight hurt to comfort? down bad iwa like always, not proofread and maybe not as good as i wanted it to be.
DAY 1, 05.06.2012
He was always there.
The second she’d step foot out of the house, his figure gracefully flooded her vision. A white jacket decorated with cyan strips hugging his torso a bit too tightly. Chocolate brown hair that perpetually defied gravity in the best way possible. Soft green eyes that might have been plucked from olive trees. And the signature loving frown etched into his lips.
This morning ritual has become as familiar as sunrise. Him against a stray streetlight outside her house. Him leaning in closer to listen to the hum of her voice as they walk to their schools. Him offering to hold her bag for her. Little things that made their world.
“y’know, you look like you haven’t slept a twink” he said, her bag slung over his shoulder in a lazy manner that did something to her heart.
“why thank you, iwa, that’s very reassuring,” she rolled her eyes.
“you can always text me if you can’t sleep,” he muttered, a sudden blush taking over his cheeks. They’ve now reached the street in which they part their way.
she looked up to him, a smile decorating her face. “you’re gonna regret offering that,”
“sure I will,” he grinned, handing her the bag.
DAY 2, 06.06.2012
DAY 3, 07.06.2012
DAY 4, 08.06.2012
“I’ve never seen an in love iwa,” sighed oikawa dreamily. “You’re growing up,” he teased, earning a snicker from Mattsun, who had his pockets stuffed in his hands. Iwaizumi was pulling his sleeves upwards, in preparation for a life threatening kick targeted at oikawa, a vein popping out of his head.
“I think you should ask her out,” he heard makki say, but every other sound dissipated into the air when he set eyes on her figure. It felt like he’d ran a marathon. His heart was getting a bit louder, and his palms became sweatier.
It was almost unreal, the effect she had on him. Almost unhealthy. He gulps, his eyes her figure in a distance. His friends thought he almost grew heart eyes. It might have been true, his eyes almost changed colour from this soft, light green to a darker one, pigmented with a soft emerald of a spring meadow.
A hand pushed his shoulder forward, and he snapped his head to the culprit. Mattsun.
“Go,”
Iwaizumi cocked an eyebrow.
“Go walk her home,” he added. The rest muttered in some sort of agreement and began walking away, leaving iwaizumi standing alone. His eyes snapped back to her figure, she was finally closer.
The moment she set her eyes on him, shooting stars bloomed through her, her eyes obtaining a sparkle of some sorts. She ran to where he was standing.
“iwa!” she exclaimed, standing right beside him, shoulders almost touching.
“hey,” he mumbled, almost stuttered.
“I thought you’re gonna be late today?”
“practice was cancelled,”
She hummed in response as they began walking once again. Her mouth kept moving, words about her day spilling out. But the only thing he could focus on was the electrocuting sensation he got with every occasional shoulder bump he received from her. He thought he’d gone deaf, blood rushing to the tips of his ears.
It was that day. The 8th of June, 2012. The day he realised he was in love with her.
DAY 5, 09.06.2012
DAY 6, 10.06.2012
It started getting a bit out of hand.
The way his heart raced. The way he yearned to see her every second of the day. He started getting off practice early, sometimes even skipping practice. Meeting her everyday with his hands curling into nervous fists hidden in the pockets of his jacket.
He told her he’s going to be late today. He lied. He couldn’t wait, so he excused himself from practice.
But today, she wasn’t alone. His mouth went dry and he felt a pang of dread and a stab of unease send direct blows to his beating heart.
A grey haired figure stood beside her. Her bag flung on his shoulder. Her breathes in sync with his. Her eyes crinkling into a happy smile. He wished he stayed in practice.
His feet grew a mind of their own, and started walking in hurried steps. He hoped she didn’t see him. Maybe he’s lying. He hoped she saw him. And maybe ran to him. And maybe flung her hands around his neck. And maybe, just maybe, kissed his lips with her sweet ones.
He went home and forced himself into sleep, not wanting his mind to recall a single memory from today.
DAY 7, 11.06.2012
He wasn’t able to sleep last night.
His brain treacherously betrayed him, replaying the way her eyes crinkled and a soft laugh escaped her lips like a broken record player.
A bouquet of flowers hid behind his back, palms sweaty and sticky. He didn’t want to think about what’s going to happen if she said no. His heart was in a state of turmoil. The adrenaline of the unknown clashing with crippling anxiety creating a mixture of naked disorder sheltering in the chambers of his heart.
He was sat on a bench. It’s rich brown colour were faded into a sad shade of beige. His leg was bouncing with anxiety and a series of what if’s. What if she doesn’t like him. What if she’s dating the grey haired guy. What if what if what if. It was the domino’s effect. One question bloomed another till his mind was flooded and his heart nowhere to be seen.
“Haji,” he heard a melodious, almost angelic voice call. It was hers. He abruptly stood up, knees weakening a little in the process. He turned so that he’s facing her, his hand behind his back.
She cocked an eyebrow. “Is everything okay?”
Iwaizumi didn’t bother responding. He just shoved the flowers with trembling fingers, the flowers practically exploding into her face. His cheeks were decorated by a slight burn of embarrassment and nervousness.
“Huh-“
“Go out with me,” he interrupted.
She blinked at him, arms cradling the flowers. One blink. Two blinks. His heart was out of this world, ears on fire. His mind spiralled into a never ending stream of doubt.
“Okay…” she replied, stretching the O and the Kay, and adding a tone of questioning at the end.
“Okay?” he repeated.
“I’ll go out with you,”
Now he blinked. Three times, to be exact. “Oh,”
“What, did you want me to say no?”
He shook his head. “No—I’m just…you like me?”
“Did you hit your head?”
Maybe he did, he wanted to say. “Shut up,” he mumbled, head turning away from her to hide the flush tattooed on his cheeks.
The flowers he’s gotten her were red tulips. Velvet petals kissed by sunlight at the dawn of day. A hopeful reminder of the passion to be blooming between them, creating red strings of fate that’ll follow both their figures even if they ended up on opposite sides of the world.

Mingyu's smile flattered when he read the invitation envelope he received this morning. There, he found a picture of you with another man— the man he saw at the coffee shop.
He could feel the way his heart clenched, and he sensed a twinge of jealousy in his heart.
Perhaps it's his fault, not caring about you enough that makes you think that you can't handle him anymore.
Or the way he would cancel your meetings abruptly because he just got a call from Jira where he rushes to everywhere she goes without asking any questions. Leaving you hanging alone in the restaurant that you both had decided to have dinner together.
The way he always mentions her names in every conversation, bringing her like she's the goddess god sent from the sky himself.
God, he can even imagine the way your smile slightly dropped and the disappointment evident on your face when he brought up her name that he had once not noticed, not caring about what you had said earlier.
Despite that, you stay by his side, offering your shoulder everytime he feels sad because of her, assuring him that he’s enough.
Mingyu remembers the day when everything started to shift.
You're not as welcome to him as before. Always avoid meeting him in person, and you are always busy.
He thinks it's normal at first, you're a resident after all, of course you're going to get busy someday that you can't even spare a glance or reply to his texts.
Meanwhile you, on the other hand, think that it's the best for you. Well, it is.
You're willing to step-out from the “more than friends but not in a relationship” situation with him, your heart also aches really great while you have to stay calm for him when he's telling his story, with her in it.
So after a while, you decided that you had enough of his & Jira's story, and you need to move on.So you do what you have to do earlier this time, you avoid him, busying yourself with patience, and always looking for surgery that needs an assistant, minimising your interaction with him. It's not that hard, actually. You're literally a cardiac resident. You will always get busy.
There you met who you called now– the love of your life, Jeon Wonwoo. He’s the main doctor for organ transplant operation, and you're the assistant.
After the operation was successful, he treated you to a coffee shop down the road and both of you had fun, talking about patience cases that you have, and even some stories on the ER where you are located right now.
“So, any interest in a relationship, or you're just single?” He asks while sipping his cup of ice americano– he claims that's what keeps him awake in every before or after a big operation.
You think for a few seconds, this is the first time when you feel like yourself again and have people asking about you, not any other person.
Feeling like you zoned out, he calls your name again, in which you respond with a shy smile on your face, and you apologise for spacing out.
You open your mouth to speak again, “No, I don't have any interest in a relationship for now, I want to focus on being a doctor first, like you!” you said with a light-hearted laugh. He did the same.
Then someone opens the coffee shop door, making the bell rings, your eyes trained to the glass door, you freeze when you see Mingyu, in all his glory.
He seems to notice you too, but when he looks in your direction, you already turn your eyes towards the doctor in front of you. Yes, he searched for you in the ER, but the receptionist said that you're currently in a cafe with a doctor.
After placing his order, he sat next to the counter, waiting for his name to be called by the barista.
He noticed the way you laugh so freely, like the burden on your shoulder just lift up when you are with that man.
He frowns, you never be as free as you are right now when you're with him, you always keep your distance, and he's your best friend! That doctor is just someone you met along the way.

“What do you want, Mingyu?” That's it, no more ‘gyu’ and the tone of your voice is cold, stabbing him in the heart.
He took a long breath, “What's wrong with us? You never seem to notice me anymore. Hundreds of my messages go unread, and you never gave me a check”
His words really make you wanna laugh. What's wrong with you both? You don't know, but one thing for sure, he needs you to tell the story about him and his beloved to you, crying his heart out and then leaving like nothing's going on between you.
You bite your bottom lip. Before allowing yourself to let out a chuckle, Mingyu cuts you off.
“Why are you laughing? It’s not a time for that” You seriously want to punch the guy in front of you, “You not here anymore when i needed you the most, Jira and i–”
That's where you draw the line, you put your “I don't care, Mingyu. Actually, fuck you kim mingyu” His breath hitched when you said that, hands growing cold.
“You are always nagging this and that about you and Jira, I don't care about her, I only care about you, all my whole life I only cared about you” Your finger pointed at him accusingly.
You stop yourself for a second, trying to catch your breath, you see Mingyu opening his mouth, wanting to speak but you cut him off.
“No, you don't get to say anything about this. All i ever do is just a backburner, the person who you came when you have any problems and dump all your problems with me, and then when you feel better you always go to her even you knew that she would make the same mistake over and over again and you will come running to me with your tears stricken face”
“You promise to listen to me too, I've had enough of your drama, I've talked to you before you even brought her up, and somehow you still did even if it's not relevant. I'm sacrificing my own happiness for you, Jira had everything i've ever wanted and that is you”
You snatched your bag from the seat beside you, pulled out a 50 dollar bill, put it on the table and you stormed off.
Mingyu was just sitting there, and that's when he felt it come back. The ache in his heart, he feels his heart clenched in the worst way possible.
Only you can make him feel like this, not even Jira can do this to him. Hearing the words fall off from your mouth is hurting him, and he doesn't know why.

Days turn into weeks and weeks turn into months. It's been approximately 7 months since the last time Mingyu saw you and heard from you.
You moved out from your old apartment the next day, making him ponder since when you start to pack your things, have you been planning this all the months back?
In the first month, he felt so lonely without your presence, no one sent him a ‘good morning’ ‘evening’ and ‘night’ text, his apartment also felt cold without you.
You used to come here often on saturday and sunday night, warming up the apartment with movies ready on your disk.
Now, his weekend nights feel empty, no one would play and watch his favorite movie with him.
And in the third month he realised when he saw you again, this time with Wonwoo beside you, talking and laughing together. He felt a throbbing pain in his heart when he saw that scenery.
oh.
oh.
All the times he felt in your presence, is the sign that he likes you or worse yet— loves you.
He realised he never felt anything towards Jira, that it's just a passing crush to keep his true deep feeling. He has liked you since the day you turned 14, the way your eyes light up when your family and him decide to surprise you in your sleep.
The memory just made his wound that he considered still fresh getting sprinkled by a handful pinch of salt.
It burns him alive and he loses all the respect he has for himself.
He thinks he has moved on, the old trick under the sleeves, getting over someone by getting under someone. And finally, it's now been a year and a half since he last heard from you.
Mingyu walks to his apartment with groceries on both of his hands, and then when he gets inside, he puts the things on his kitchen counter and goes to the bedroom to change his outerwear.
He's not in the mood to do anything today, so he took his laptop to watch some movies, but then an email caught his attention, it's from you.
So he opens it, and finds an envelope there.
Mingyu read the body of the email, because a word cought on his eyes.
hi, sorry. I know we have been in no contact for a year and a half, but I want to invite you, we once have something, don't we? :) Love is in the air.docx
He lets out a shaky breath, scared if he opens the document then his heart would shatter to the ground beneath his feet.Oh well, he opens it with hesitation on his face and heart. He takes a deep breath before finally opening the invitation.
The document has three pictures of you with him, the doctor he hates so much with all of his heart despite there's no interaction between them.
It’s a wedding card.
There's the date and time of your wedding ceremony and the reception.
He feels his tears on the edge of his eyes, threatening to fall right now and then, he already has his heart shattered the day you leave and now he feels another throbbing pain with the fact that you will never be his.

“Don't marry him” You feel like the time has just stopped right now.
Seeing Mingyu all dressed up in your wedding was definitely on your bingo list— well, last year. but seeing him now? It's just like the burden you had on your shoulder a year ago came back to you.
You used to imagine yourself going through a wedding ceremony with you as the bride and him as the groom.
You're very much confused by his behavior, so you open your mouth, though you didn't say anything because you’re speechless.
Mingyu repeats the words he just said the second time to you, looking at you with hope in his eyes.
“Why?” you asked, you want to add something after that but you halt your actions, waiting for him to answer you.
Mingyu started at the ground for a moment, before looking at you, yet again, “Why? You know why”
You snap, saying no to him only for it to be denied by him, making you say no to him again.
“What?” Then he asked, after pinning him for years, hearing him say that makes your blood boil.
You want to slap Mingyu, but you compose yourself, not wanting to make your special day be ruined by a man that doesn't know and seems like he's not willing to know about your feelings even when you gave him a clear sign.
“No, no Mingyu– You're being mean. stop it.” he can hear the finality of your words, but he didn't want to stop there, “How am i being mean?” there's a stern expression on his face.
“I have been second to Jira my whole life, in everything and that including you. I'm not going to be the person you settle for just because you cannot have her”
“I won't do it, because i've been wasting my entire life loving you but all you see is just Jira, never once i crossed your mind, and you don't have the right to stop me from marrying the man i love” You don't even want to cry anymore, tears for him is already dry long time ago.
Mingyu tries to hold your hand, wanting to confess his feelings, but instead he lets out a question and the second he finishes his sentence he regrets it, “Isn't I the man you love?” his voice is silent, not quite above a whisper.
“Don’t make me laugh Kim Mingyu, you get rid off me as soon as you and Jira reconcile, even both of you were not in a relationship, you run into me when Jira is busy and then the next day you gone for a week and the cycle keep going leaving me stressing over my own feeling”
Before he could say anything, you told him to get out of the room, but you know he's a rock headed person, so you already told the groomsman to wait outside the door after he gets in.
Mingyu heard the door open and he knew it's time for him to get the fuck out and wait for your ceremony, he said something before he leaves, “i love you, i'm sorry” and so he get his last words to you.
For the rest of his life, Mingyu can only hear your voice from a distance, the way Wonwoo kisses you is heart wrenching to the guts of his body.
Now he can only see you again when suddenly bumps into you, or when he goes to your favorite places and on his screen.
And even then, you're not alone, you will be with your new husband that you're marrying today, there's no chance for him to be in your picture.
