(This ask got so long I had to split it into 4 parts, sorry about that!)I love your AUs so MUCH, oh my GOD!! Bandee realizing that the world is Wrong because no good, just world would let Kirby be so, so miserable... the heartbreak of him being powerless to stop Galacta poisoning Kirby's worldview, because to directly interfere is to doom them all... the way that he does everything in his power to support Kirby and tries to protect his heart (1/4)

rest under the cut just due to length. just general excitement and responses to the content of the asks, some minor mentions of lying/psychological manipulation.

i'm also super thrilled that you see and understand the bandee-centric vision. seeing this written out so transparently by someone else as though it was straight from my own hand was a really fun experience!! he is a loyal and heroic little dude... he loves kirby so much! save an entire timeline for his best friend? he WILL do it, no matter what!!

it does drive bandee nuts and hurts him so bad not to be able to talk about any of this with kirby directly, but galacta knight is paying such extremely close attention to kirby at that point that if bandee tried any harder than he did during that café scene, it would definitely get back to him and the jig would be up.

and indeed, kirby is directly parroting stuff galacta knight has said, word for word. it's hard to tell but some of kirby's dialogue is even in a tweaked colour (vibrant galacta knight hot pink, rather than the warmer kirby pink) to help make that clear. it's like... not what kirby would ever say or even really think, which is what makes it so sinister.

galacta knight is, as you said, poisoning kirby's worldview; and with it, kirby's legacy itself. by the time star allies occurs and they are trying to combat the effects of the jamba hearts, the citizens of dream land are not pleased when the great hero kirby shows up to help them. they're terrified

simultaneously, as you correctly pointed out, he's also damaging kirby's view of bandee. not directly bad mouthing him or anything, because he figured out that didn't work early on, but galacta knight himself certainly thinks that bandee is weak and expendable, so it's easy for him to feed that fear in kirby. especially because kirby has lost so many other friends to 'dark matter' at this point

especially because bandee is indeed all kirby has left

you absolutely hit the nail on the head with regards to the end of that café scene. it was incredibly intentional phrasing on galacta knight's behalf. he didn't even bother telling that to bandee who is- at this point- the last waddle dee in dream land. just "they're invading."

it's not even necessarily untrue; they were coming to take the waddle dees! but galacta knight can absolutely rationalise many things to kirby, at this point, by saying it puts bandee in particular at risk. he can and does weaponise their friendship, especially in the later stages of the au

we cannot afford to delay when faced with threats, kirby, not everybody is strong like you. mercy could get someone killed. make sure you train so, so hard, kirby, to protect the people you care about. make sure you make him train hard, so he isn't viewed as the vulnerable target he is.

make sure you act decisively to keep him safe.

you can ask questions later.

and if something were to 'accidentally' happen to bandee... well that would probably just confirm everything galacta knight had been saying all along.

Member? I'm not sure how to interpret this question, so I'll take it as what character I identify with most.

I'm gonna have to say Meta Knight. He's the reason I got into writing fanfiction! ...And then started tormenting him in every way possible. Sorry MK. Being a favourite comes with hazards. At least he gets to share the burden with Galacta Knight now. Honestly the way I write them represents two opposite but equally influential sides of me. They...don't always agree.

I do have some ideas I haven't gotten around to yet! Either because they are further on in the timeline or because I had an idea and abandoned it. (Or got burned out.) Here's a couple.

At least two more fics in the "Hatoful Dreams" series and one taking place after that's concluded. But that's spoilers!

"Go-Go Waddle Copter!" Wherein Bandee learns to fly with his spear, inspired by finding old video tapes of a certain legally distinct children's series.

A crackfic partially inspired by the Phantom of the Opera.

A prequel fic about Meta Knight's arrival in Dream Land with Sword Knight and Blade Knight, meeting Kirby and the lead up to the fight with Nightmare.

"The Sailor and the Swordsman". The penultimate part of the "P.O.P.S.T.A.R." series, taking place between "Rocks Fall, Everyone Flies" and "Stray Like An Aro". Consists of two parts:

Snippets of the past and how Sailor Waddle Dee became Sailor and joined the Meta-Knights.

The present where he confronts/reconnects with his family, while struggling to decide where his loyalties lie. Meta Knight? His biological family? ...Does he really have to pick a side?

Ok, I don't think about shipping much (this is a lie) so it took a while to sort this out.

Some notes (very, very personal opinions):

I added the DametaGala myself. I know they don't interact in canon. I don't care. Two quasi-reformed villains, both having cheated death, learning how to be normal again together after being imprisoned for years? Delicious. Dark Meta Knight finds someone who gets how it feels to have unreliable memories and violent urges, who helps ground him? Delectable. Galacta Knight finally gets to meet a different flavour of Meta Knight, on his own terms? Refreshing! So I'm shipping it anyway. It would be a bit of a Mayfly-December romance, though. But so is any romance with GK.

Sword Knight and Blade Knight are just kinda there. I had to put them somewhere.

I believe Marx and Magolor are both adults, albeit probably fairly young.

I'm not shipping Prince Fluff with anyone. Not that I hate KirFluff! But I'm a little tired he only ever gets to be the boyfriend. Sure he gets some SkirFluff for variety, but he's still always the boyfriend and nothing else. Let him branch out!

Drawcia is a screaming abomination I will not touch with a ten-foot pole.

I'm not interested in shipping Kirby with anyone except maybe in a puppy love sense.

I do ship MetaDedede, in a way. Its romantic status is very questionable since they are both different flavours of arospec/acespec/bi disasters to me. They are, however, Sworn Partners. Somehow. Despite the odds. Losing each other would feel like losing a limb.

Taranza may have loved Sectonia, but he never confessed. I'm also tired of him only getting to be the 'grieving over dead wife'-guy. Let him move on!

Morpho Knight go back to Yomi please.

For every timeline's Meta Knight, no matter how driven to seek him out, it's his first time meeting Galacta Knight. But for GK it's the 4738292nd timeloop by now. He doesn't even fight seriously anymore. He would probably develop an obsession with all iterations of Meta Knight. This fateful connection is not love, but a desire to study each other in a petri dish.

Sailor Waddle Dee and Bandee are cousins in my headcanon.

I was tempted to add Meta Knight with Trident Knight as a joke ship. There is no reason for this other than Trident is hinted to be a cyborg and they could bond over both having been mechanised to various degrees. You could have tension about how it's permanent for Trident (who now feels like he's ruined and hideous) while MK was mostly fine other than some scars and his eyes. (I still think the HWC took his eyes! Since they are permanently yellow even unmasked now.) I don't know where I was going with this. Anyway.
