Means I've seen several people talking about how theyfab is transandrophobic without any mention of exorsexism or nonbinary people in general (some mentioned transmascs some just trans men) and also the revisionist attempt to claim it's a word for "punching up" rather than active bigotry. (Where with that revisionist definition it is now being primarily targeted at transmascs and trans men who want to speak about their issues rather, hence the transandrophobia.)

The most recent thing was a series of posts by several different people who were talking about shinigami eyes being transphobic (specifically transandrophobic when specified) and intersexist for saying id as afab transfemme is transphobic (specifically transmisogyistic when specified) and enough to mark you red/anti-trans and theyfab (and tenderqueer and transtrender) is just a mean word meant to discuss problems within the queer community and not enough to mark as anti-trans/red (and frequently people marked in green/trans-friendly will be throwing theyfab at other people).

Crucially so many of those posts failed to mentioned nonbinary people who were not transmasc or intersex. Did not mention that it is exorsexism. (And in a larger scheme the only time nb people get mentioned is when they can be shoved under transmasc or transfemme gender binary 2.0)

It's very much camel meet straw vent post I did not expect to get more than like a handful of likes and maybe one reblog that went nowhere.

(Also bc ppl hate talking about exorsexism so much they bad faith read everything: this does not mean it's wrong to talk about the intersexism or transandrophobia at play or it should have less space- those absolutely need to be talked about, keep doing it. It just means add a seat at the table to also discuss exorsexism and stop contributing to the erasure and invisibility of nonbinary people.)

(Also I am happy to say I've since seen many more posts mention nb explicitly and yay keep up the good work there.)

I swear if I see one more person talk about how theyfab is transphobic and mention transandrophobia and intersexism (which they should, esp given the specific context of the shinigami eyes guidelines) and leave out exorsexism and the nonbinary people the term originally targeted I am going to scream. Like. I know y'all love to forget nonbinary people exist in general but the gall to do it when talking about theyfab is just. Wow. Do you just not see exorsexism as a thing either, or not important enough to mention? Would you care about theyfab if it weren't being used to target binary trans people?
