#i could write a whole essay on this episode#this was the first time they went out of their way to protect fire nation civilians#atla#atla watch#this truly started in The Solstice Part 2 with the Fire Sage#but this was them choosing fire nation people over a resistance#because it was the right thing to do#and this gets hammered home in season 3#when theyre living in the fire nation and seeing what ordinary civilians in the homeland experience under the fire lord#and see that freeing the world from his tyranny#includes the fire nation itself
