One of the most important things that happens in totk but almost no npc talks about it is Link losing his arm. We don't even see a big reaction from him also, he just accepts he got a new arm from a dead king and that's it. I know he has the stoic-knight-personality going on yet, but that's such a big thing that happened and there is no emotional impact at all?
And even if Link won't emote about it because is probably a traumatic event and he could shut down because of it, other characters that know him should immediately notice his arm is gone. And the fact that almost nobody did is so weird and a missed oportunity to highlight Link as a character and as a protagonist
And his new arm? Imagine you waking up with your arm gone and you have a strangers arm in place, and knowing that you were so close to dying (again). You find out the person you care the most got teleported to the past and you can see glimpses of things that happened, but everything is still confusing and you don't know what is going on yet
But when we discover with Link what in fact happened, we don't get anything from him, just our own reaction as the players
Link deserves to have more highlight for the things that happens with him, and I wish they gave him that at least now in totk; he deserves it as the one of the main protagonist of the series
#I was going to rant just about his arm but you know the cutscenes also bothered me#and I know maybe Nintendo didn't want to make a super dark game bc thats not what they do#when they said totk was going to be the darkest game in the series and stared with link losing his arm I was like omg lets goooo#but the emotional impact is just not there#at least not in the parts I already saw#I didn't finish the game yet#also I still think Majoras Mask did things better in the emotional aspect#and skyward sword also did better with Link#tears of the kingdom
