If you enjoyed the piece, then why did you lie in your tags and say "I can't even enjoy a fanart representation of it"? That's right there in the tags, you can't deny it. If you don't enjoy it, don't reblog it. And if you want to give it exposure anyway, don't add rude comments like that in the tags, it's not hard. And the word I used was CONcrit. Concrit, or constructive criticism, means giving advice in addition to criticism in order to help the artist out. Saying (1/2)
“I can’t enjoy this” is criticism, but it’s not helpful. Even “this is OOC so I can’t enjoy it” is just criticism without being constructive. If you want to be constructive, explain it. Say, “I find this OOC because [reason], but you can maybe fix that by doing [solution].” THAT’S concrit, which you did not give. You did nothing to help the artist (who might not even want concrit - you should ask first). You were just rude. All I’m saying is you might want to NOT be rude in the future.
Okay, anon. I originally wrote a whole thing about the inaccuracies in your comments sent to me but I decided it just wasn’t worth it. Instead I’m just going to shrug, move on with my life, and take what you said with a grain of salt.
You had no part and no reason in coming to my ask box over this seeing as you aren’t the artist. If the artist wants more commentary from me then they’re free to ask for it. If they want me to shut up, not reblog their art from now on, then they’re free to say so. That’s how I see it.
I’m sorry you felt I came off as harsh but I offered criticism as I saw fit, stated my feelings as I saw fit, and also gave a compliment for the art itself, calling it cute, because I would never just say something rude/negative without offering anything positive when it comes to fanworks I reblog.
So that’s that. Good day to you, anon. Hopefully I didn’t ruin yours for you. But if I did? Well… *shrug*
Like I said, it’s possible to like something for one reason and not like it for another. A fanfic can be grammatically perfect, flawless in story and development, but if the characters are acting OoC then… there you go. A fanart can be masterfully sketched, colored gorgeously, but the same thing applies. OoCness is, on its own, reason to feel iffy about something. I stated that I can’t enjoy an artist representation of something that seemed OoC, but I also felt the art itself was cute, and of course, I would reblog my number one OTP, which is always cute.
