Husband series [8/8] | Jongho
Word count: 4.3k Pairing: ex-husband! San x single mom! reader x boyfriend! Jongho Genre: fluff, another make out session yeet A/N: aaaand thatâs the last one of the âseriesâ !! I hope it wasnât too repetitive and that you enjoyed it, feedbacks are appreciated! Thank you for reading!! (Jongho is bby tho đ„ș)
You had met San when you were in college. You were a business student, and he was working as a graphic designer in a company near your university. Meeting through a mutual friend one night at a dinner out with the so-called friend, you instantly clicked as good friend. Your friendship soon grew into a romantic one, becoming almost inseparable. Even with your busy schedules, you still managed to make everything work, sometimes going out for lunch or FaceTiming each other late at night, right when you had finished studying. Three years later, your relationship with San was going strong, and youâve never felt so pretty and happy. He was treating you the way you had dreamt to be treated, fulfilling every aspect that you were looking for in a man. San loved you with his entire heart, being called a simp by his friends and co-workers didnât prevent him from loving you unconditionally. (people can be mean sometimes let just people love each other ffs)
He understood your mood swings, your constant tired state, but he didnât mind. He knew that being at university was exhausting, so we let you have your space yet still had opened arms for you if you needed it. Since you were a teenager, you had an idea of a job that you wanted to do, so you did everything to make it work and study for it. Though one day, someone from a company came to one of your lectures to talk about his work and you immediately fell in love with his job. It was a job that you didnât even know that existed, and you suddenly craved to reach this work in your career. However, thereâs been a hiccup. You needed a masterâs degree to reach this post. That meant moving to another city, going to grad school and start everything. And studying even more crazily that you were currently doing. And thatâs what you did. You were getting busier and busier, to the point of almost not being able to handle your relationship with San anymore. You could already barely make your friendships work, let alone a romantic one.
There was another dilemma to all of that.
You had gotten married to San a few months after your bachelor graduation. Of course, you had celebrated it with a honeymoon over the Summer in Hawaii. And we all know what happens most of the time during a honeymoon⊠During your second month of grad school, you started feeling nauseous and dizzy several times during the day, starting right after you woke up. Worried, you went to the doctor to check if you were healthy, but it turned out that you were just pregnant.
Married and pregnant, you could say goodbye to your masterâs degree.
You felt like you could do it at first, that nothing could bring you down, not even a baby or your health. You gave birth to a wonderful daughter seven months later, one of the happiest moments in your life. However, a few weeks later, it came to a point where taking care of your daughter, your master and husband became way too overwhelming for you to control. One night, you sat in your bed as you breastfeed your daughter, San lying dead asleep next to you. He was curled up in the covers, softly dreaming as your mind was rushing. Trains of thoughts, anxieties, worries invaded your mind, preventing you from doing your activity with your daughter calmly. She whined as you sighed, probably feeling your anxiety through your feeding, so you tried to take deep breaths and calm down a bit.
You were becoming irritable and quite aggressive, stress and exhaustion taking over your body. San taking care of you was sometimes suffocating when he just wanted to take care of you and your daughter. He was simply trying to help. But to you, he was in the way. You hated to admit it, but it was falling apart. San accused you from taking too much time for your masterâs degree and Youngsoon, feeling left aside and abandoned as you privileged something and someone else more. San was always at work since he was the only source of income, sad and disappointed that everything had turned out that way.
âSan, I want a divorce,â you said one night, and your husband dropped his fork in his plate. âNo, Y/N, weâre going to make things work out, I promise.â âI donât want to do it anymore, Iâm tired,â you said, emotionless as you drank a sip of water, grimacing as it was lukewarm because of the candle standing next to it. âYouâre just saying that because youâre under stress, I know you donât mean it,â he said as he grabbed your hand across the table, but you took it away from him. Even when you were mad or angry at him, you didnât act like that. He knew when you retracted your hand, it was serious. You fought for days, watching your relationship fall apart. San took the couch a few nights in a row, and so did you. There were nights where San went out, probably drinking or doing something else and you didnât even get to see him in the mornings. No more post-it notes left on the counter, no more texts from him, just cold and bitter answers as you told him that you were going to bed.
[You] : Iâm going to bed, your dinner is in the oven. [Sannie] : Ok.
This was the last text that you sent him. He came from work one day and displayed a stack of paper in front of you, as well with a pen.
âHave fun,â he said as he went out the door without looking back, his blazer in his grip. Divorce papers were scattered in front of you, reading each line of it during the entire night, pondering if it was a great decision or not. He had finally accepted your decision, yet he still felt miserable and in love. San had great manners, so he helped you move out when it was time. He was cold when he was talking to you, but you knew that you deserve it, but you also knew that it was his way of shielding himself. He waved at you one last time from his porch and sighed, letting his tears roll down as you drove away. After a few days, he was still sending you messages, but you ended up blocking him because you needed to focus on something else. It was a hard decision but move on was your key point.
Your masterâs was doing quite well, you managed to get through the first two years. It was getting tougher yet more interesting, and you successfully ended your second year. Your third year consisted of you staying abroad or a semester or more and completing your thesis. Your grad school didnât really allow this, but due to your condition, they agreed on letting you take your daughter. When you arrived in South Korea, you, fortunately, knew the basics, living your life independently as you tried to learn a bit of Korean every day, getting more and more comfortable in the language as the weeks went by. The company you were working at was filled with nice people, welcoming you in their life as if you were an old friend. You've been hit on by co-workers, but you politely declined, too immersed into your job and daughter to even care about dating.
A handsome man named Jongho worked in the company you were doing your stay in, and you grew to have a crush on him. I mean, who couldnât. A lot of women in the company were cooing over him, he wasnât the eldest, yet he acted more maturely than some of the eldest crocodiles in the company. He was courteous, gentle and a very smiley man, warming you up on a cold way only by his smile. You had talked to him a few times, but nothing crazy. You had unexpectedly met him on your way at the park, and he was coming back from the gym, still sweaty and muscles rolling around. He was wearing quite tight shorts and a tank top, offering you a nice view of his body. You were walking your daughter to make her fall asleep, so you hid at a street corner to avoid him and got out of your spot as he walked past you, never seeing you. One night, you had a company meal and had to decline it, even if you really wanted to go. You had to take care of your daughter, plus you needed to start writing your thesis, and you didnât really like the fact that someone you didnât know would take care of her while you were out, drinking and eating with friends. You were more reassured to be with your daughter, comfortably sat at home with a cup of tea, lo-fi music in the background, hard-working as youâve been doing for the past five years.
The following day, Jongho intercepted you and asked why you werenât there last night. Panicking, you tried to explain that you were busy with your thesis, but he wasnât really convinced.
âIt doesnât matter anymore. Do you wanna grab lunch with me today?â He changed the subject, and you almost dropped the folders you had in hand. âI planned on cooking at home, Iâm sorry.â âAlright,â he said with a thin disappointed smile, and you sheepishly smiled at him before going back to work. You hated declining opportunities to talk to him, but you needed to feed your daughter since the day-care centre had to unexpectedly close doors for this afternoon. Coming home from work, one evening, you noticed that you didnât have any food left in the fridge. You started to think about ordering takeout, but you suddenly remembered that your daughter still had a fragile stomach and capricious stomach, making you sigh. You quickly dressed your daughter and put her in her pushchair, making your way out to the local convenience store.
And you happened to run into Jongho. Again. He was coming back from the gym, hair still wet from his shower, his sports bag loosely hanging from his shoulder. âOh, hi, Jonghoââ you didnât even have the time to cross the street or hide that he appeared in front of you, almost crashing onto each other. âH-hi Y/N,â he stuttered, his eyes widening at your daughter, who was tugging on his pants. âYoungsoon, no!â You shushed her since Jongho didnât move, almost seeing gears working next to his head as he thought about everything you had told him by the past. And it clicked. He quickly excused himself from you and paced the other way, as pale as if he had seen a ghost. Thatâs when you understood that he wanted to be more than just co-workers and you had no longer a chance with him. You had done your best to avoid him with your daughter, but it needed to happen one night.
The following day at work, you avoided each other like the plague, sending each other glares, but immediately looking away when you were caught red-handed in the act. It came to a habit for the following week, and you started to move on. It wasnât the first time that you needed to move on, so you were kind of numb and used to it. At a lunch break, you prepared yourself to go home and felt someone touch your shoulder. It was Jongho, and your heart started beating faster. It had been a while that you hadnât seen him this close and his hand on your shoulder sent electricity in your veins.
âWanna grab lunch with me?â âJongho, I canât.â you sighed and kept on packing. âTake her along.â He winked as he placed a small piece of paper in your free hand before walking away. You opened it and discovered a restaurant address, making you dash and rush at home. Your daughter was slightly confused, but she clapped when you told her that youâd have lunch with the man that wore sweatpants the other night. When you arrived at the address, Jongho was already waiting for you at a table. You entered the restaurant, and he smiled, waving at you from his spot. You smiled, your heart banged louder when you noticed the highchair near yours. It was a small gesture, yet it was something meaningful to you; he cared about your daughter well-being.
âThank you for the invitation,â you said as you sat your daughter in her chair. She was quite shy around Jongho, she couldnât look at him in the eyes. She seemed impressed, which made Jongho smile. âItâs nothing,â he swayed his hand in front of him with a smile and bit back a laugh when your daughter harshly played with your hand. âDonât hurt Mommy,â he said, and Youngsoon looked at him, pink appearing on her cheeks as she stopped pulling on your fingers. You grabbed your ring from her hold and replaced it on your finger, smiling as Jongho offered to play with his hand instead. âSo how have you been?â you asked as you slightly smiled at the waiter, who was placing a bottle of sparkling water between you two. Jongho thanked the waiter with a nod and looked up, slightly leaning towards you. You shifted in your seat, trying to ignore the discomfort that took place between the two of you. âHonestly, not that good,â he finally answered after sighing. Your eyebrows furrowed, worried that someone bad happened to him. âDo you wanna talk about it?â you offered before taking a sip of the bubbly liquid, hitching your throat as you swallowed it.
âI missed you,â he blurted, and you almost choked. You certainly werenât expecting this, but you werenât nonetheless disappointed. âWhat?â you asked as you wiped your mouth with your napkin. âYeah, Iâve missed you quite badly. Those past couples of days without daring to look at you, smile at you or talk to you made me realise that, yeah, I really liked you. I know I disappeared like a coward when I saw you with this little one,â he admitted as he shook his finger, which was still in your daughterâs hold since she was whining for affection. âI shouldnât have, but I wasnât expecting that you had a past like yours. Iâm sorry, I realised I messed up the second I ran away, and I couldnât see myself coming to you as if nothing happened. I hope youâll forgive me because I really want things to work out together. I think we can go pretty far if youâre alright with it,â the last parts of his sentence sounded a bit unsure, which gave him an endearing appearance. âOkay, you're lucky that you're handsome,â you admitted with a smile and Jonghoâs eyes almost bugged out, a shock expression on his face. âI forgive you, but I still need a moment to process everything. I havenât dated anyone in a while,â you said with a nervous smile, which immediately reassures Jongho. âOf course, take the time you need,â he winked, and the remaining of the lunch went by without any trouble.
Time flew by, and it soon became the end of your stay in Seoul. You had to go back to your home country, leaving friends and co-workers behind. After that particular lunch date with Jongho, he invited you over his place the following night, cooking and spending the night together, as well as with your daughter. A memory of that night was still quite vivid in your mind, remembering your daughter sitting on Jonghoâs belly, legs dangling off his body and Jongho softly played with her as you watched the film displayed on the TV. You smiled as you heard her fits of giggles and Jonghoâs babbling. Your first kiss happened that night as well, right after putting your daughter to bed. He had waited for you to come back to the living room and sprung to his feet, almost knocking you to the floor. He held your waist and made you both fall on the couch, him underneath you. You were straddling him, a position that you didn't get to experience for years. You sat on his lap, and he cupped your cheek with his hand, the other clutching your waist, dragging you closer to him.Â
Everything went almost too naturally, Jongho did everything to make it happen that way. He stretched his neck, and you leant in, your lips meeting halfway through. As you were exchanging your first kiss, you hoped that your daughter wouldnât interrupt this precious moment. Jongho groaned in the kiss and roughly grabbed you by the neck to deepen your languid exchange, which made butterflies erupt in your stomach. Years that you spent every day without getting kissed on the lips, you hadnât realised how much you missed this. Jongho was the one to wake Youngsoon up the next morning, leaving you to sleep in as you were tired from your activities from the night before.
They had a great bond together, it was endearing to see them getting along so well. He came a few nights in a row at your place, your daughter almost taking him as her dad. She always ran to him when he showed up at the day-care centre with you, rushing in his arms, giving him only a few seconds to scoop her in his arms and hug her. She held onto him very tightly, small hands grabbing at the hair on the back of his head. You stroked her head, and she finally noticed you, making grabby hands as she tried to escape from Jonghoâs arms to come into yours. You were her mother, after all, she preferred to be in your arms than being into someone elseâs. She was your cherished daughter, and you were her cherished mother. Other people at the day-care centre mistook you too many times as married young parents. At first, you were embarrassed and nervous that people thought you had your child together, but you quickly got used to it. Having someone as Jongho by your side made you realise how lucky you were that he chose you because there was no shortage of beautiful women in the company you worked at.
Today was the day that you all felt extremely sad. You had to leave all the great memories behind, as well as Jongho. You had tried to make him come along, but he had his family and friends there as well. You were exhausted, your daughter almost crying every night as you tried to put her to sleep, but the thought of leaving your boyfriend was near unbearable for her. The ride to the airport was silent. You barely greeted Jongho as you opened the door. He faintly smiled as he took your suitcases, stuffing them in his truck as you directly went to the passenger seat after installing your daughter in the backseat. She was pouting all the time, trying to turn around to look at Jongho for the last time.
Once you arrived at the airport, you happened to run into Yunho, one of Jonghoâs friends, who was also getting ready to take the plane to go on a holiday. You tried to keep your composure as much as possible, but your eyes welled up with tears when you heard the call for your flight. You were about to go for a hug, but Jongho did a handshake to his friend, Yunho passing him his backpack, as well as his suitcases. You looked at them, confused, but when Jongho smiled at you, it clicked.
He was coming with you.
âAre- are you serious?â your voice wavered as you felt your eyes burning. He nodded with a smile, and you swore that you couldâve yelled in happiness. Which you did. You screamed and ran to Jonghoâs arms, dropping your daughterâs hand in the way. She didnât understand why you yelled, so she cried, interrupting your euphoria. You let go of Jongho to stare at your daughter and took her in your arms. âHoney, Jongho is coming with us,â she immediately stopped crying and sniffled, looking at you. She then looked at Jongho, who had the brightest smile on his face, caressing your daughterâs cheek with his knuckle. He gave her a kiss on the cheek, before capturing your lips in a feverish kiss. You felt someone taking your daughter off your arms and mumbled something. âOh time to come with me pretty girl, I wonât let you see that,â you smiled in the kiss as you heard Yunhoâs comment and took the opportunity to wrap your arms around your loverâs neck. The kiss got quickly abrupted as you heard the last call for your flight, taking your daughter back and waving at Yunho with a big smile as you rushed to your departure gate. Jongho had managed to find a seat right behind you and your daughter, comforting and playing with your daughter when you fell asleep. You were relieved that she wasnât too loud, shyly looking at the man sitting next to you. You put your index finger on your lips to signal her to stay quiet, to which she slowly nodded. Her big eyes got distracted by a hand coming between the seats to scratch her belly, softly giggling at the tickles.
When you arrived in your home country, you were exhausted. You barely recognised yourself when you entered the bathroom, brushing your hair back into place as you yawned. Your daughter was barely standing up, you couldnât wait to go home and call it a day. Jongho was waiting for you with your suitcases, ready to go and hail a taxi for a drive home. Reality struck you right in the face; you didnât have a place to stay since you sold everything when you went to live abroad. The only place you knew was your parentsâ house. After a call with your father, Jongho stopped a taxi and put the suitcases in the truck. Youngsoon was dead asleep in your arms, keeping her against your chest as you sat in the backseat. The journey to your parentsâ house wasnât that long, so it should be good enough to keep her like that.
You wanted to sleep for the next week, but your thesis needed you, as much as you needed sleep. Fortunately, Jongho was working in the same field as you did, so he could keep on writing your paper when you were exhausted. He and your parents were taking turns to take care of your daughter when you were doing your thesis or sleeping, barely making it alive when you put a full stop to your work.
âY/N! Thereâs someone at the door for you!â Your mom screamed from downstairs and, from the tone of her voice, she wasnât the happiest. You frowned and ran downstairs, almost stumbling on the last steps as you recognised the silhouette in the doorway.
San.
He was standing there, hair longer and body slimmer than the last time you saw him. You swallowed thickly as you had wished to look more presentable, but, to your defence, you werenât expecting him to knock at your door a whole year and a half after your divorce. You clenched your teeth as you stared at him, whereas he had the softest smile decorating his lips. âYou havenât chââ âDonât you dare to finish your sentence,â you spat, looking at him dead in the eyes, âNo.â you sternly said, pushing your hair back. âOkay,â he said as he widened his eyes, putting his hands in his jeans pockets. âWhat do you want?â you asked, starting to get impatient at the sight of your ex-husband. âTo have you back,â he said, and your breath got stuck in your throat. âOf course, but you know thatâs impossible,â you stated as you crossed your arms on your chest, only to hear San sighing. âBut I know that we can make it work! Youâre back from your year abroad, we can start again from where we left. Iâve been waiting for you to come back, I was hopeful that youâd come back, and you did. I promise to give you my everything to make things work, Iâm even ready to propoââ âDarling, who is this?â you heard Jongho said and you turned around, only to find him with Youngsoon in his arms. The former stared at your ex-husband with a suspicious look. You looked at San, who was already looking at you. âHoney, this is San,â you answered, your eyes never leaving his, âmy ex-husband.â Your words stayed stuck in Sanâs throat, who struggled to swallow. He looked at your daughter with teary eyes, hopeful that sheâd recognise him, but she didnât. Instead, she cuddled further into Jonghoâs chest, her head turning away from her dad. Jongho still had the courtesy of extending his hand towards San, but the latter shook his head. He looked at you one last time, slowly moving backwards until his back came into contact with his car. You saw him clench his jaw and looked away, walking around his car, and entering it as quickly as possible before squealing your tires and taking off like a rocket. You sighed and closed the door, looking at your boyfriend.
âWas it her father?â you nodded, and he held your hip, kissing it with such delicacy that you faintly smiled. âI thought that he had moved on,â you mumbled, and Jongho dragged you close to him by the forearm. âDonât worry about it, heâll do it soon,â he said against your temple as you caressed your daughterâs back, âyou donât have to feel bad because he still hasnât moved on and you did, people move at their own pace, remember that,â he kissed your temple and tightened your hold around his waist, humming his shirt. You closed your eyes and felt at peace, the memory of San slowly fading away in your brain. You couldnât help but feel terrible, but deep down, you knew that heâd move on someday. It wasnât just meant to be now.

home is with you.
Your boyfriend is extremely important to you â but so is your job. When youâre offered the opportunity to do work abroad for the summer, you jump at the chance. Jongdae is understanding, the best boyfriend you could ever ask for. But even kind words meant to comfort arenât the same as having your best friend, the love of your life by your side.
Word Count: 5,904
Masterlist
You werenât always this lucky to have time to call Jongdae nowadays.Â
âAnd then, Jongin realized that he had left his keys inside his car, but the door had already locked behind him! He had to call a locksmith to get him in.âÂ
You laughed along with Jongdae, hand coming up to cover your mouth in a half-hearted attempt to stifle yourself. âWas it the same person as last time?â Â
âThe exact same one. They looked pretty annoyed,â Jongdae told you, chuckling to himself from his side of the phone.Â
âHe should just leave a spare key somewhere, for the next time that this happens.âÂ
âYou know Jongin, heâd end up losing that one too.âÂ
You hummed in agreement, rolling onto your back and pressing the phone closer to your ear. It was 5:18 in the afternoon in Seoul, but 10:18 in the morning for you. You were currently on a summer trip with some other professors and a handful of graduate students from your university studying a small sample of the wide variety of languages spoken in South Africa. The hotel you were staying at in Johannesburg was beautiful, but it didnât have the same appeal as home.Â
Especially when your favorite person was almost 8,000 miles away.Â
âHow is your work going? Fluent in any new languages yet?â Jongdae asked, a crinkling noise carrying through the phone as he moved around.Â
âI wish I was that good,â you said with a giggle. âWeâve been focusing on finishing up our lessons on Xhosa first before starting on Zulu next week.âÂ
âOh wait, Xhosaâs language that they used in Black Panther, right? The one with the clicks?â Jongdae gave a small click of his tongue himself.
âYep! Iâm surprised you even remember that.âÂ
âI learned from the best.âÂ
You chuckled, never failing to be flattered by the way Jongdae dropped compliments on you out of the blue. He always did it so easily, you couldnât do anything but accept them gratefully. âI can only hope that my students think the same thing.âÂ
âIâm sure they do. You always have a bunch of students talking to you and trying to get in touch with you. Speaking of, you have some letters in the mail from some of them.â
âDid you read them?â
âNo. Did you want me to?â You heard a creak and guessed that heâd gotten up from his seat, heading over to the counter where you keep your unread mail. You could picture it so clearly, Jongdaeâs slipper-covered feet padding across the floor as he flipped on light switches in the hallway until he reached the mail. The thought was so vivid, you felt a familiar wave of uneasiness come over you. These periods of homesickness still came to you often, even though youâd been in Johannesburg for almost a month already.Â
You cleared your throat, forcing yourself to focus on the present. âNo, itâs okay. How many letters are there?â
Jongdae hummed to himself as he counted, and you knew that he was flipping through the letters one by one, movements swift like they always were. âFour. Are these all your senior students?âÂ
âThey might be. Actually, can you open them up and send me pictures of them? They might be urgent.âÂ
âYeah, of course.âÂ
âThanks, Dae.â You stretched out on your bed, sighing as you felt yourself physically relax. âI miss being home, even with all the work.âÂ
âI miss you too. Eating at home by myself is getting pretty old.âÂ
Your eyes closed shut at this, a grimace finding its way onto your face. âI feel so guilty. I wish you could have come with me.âÂ
âOh babe, I didnât mean it like that. Donât feel bad, please? Iâm glad you got the chance to go on this trip. How often do you get to go travel, especially to places far away like South Africa?âÂ
âI know, but still.... I miss having you with me.â
âI miss you too, Y/N.â Jongdaeâs voice was more quiet, taking on a more somber tone. âBut itâs two months away from home, and youâre already halfway through. Before we know it, youâll be back home.âÂ
You smiled to yourself at these last words. Home. Back home with Jongdae, in the comforts of the apartment the two of you have been living in for a couple of years. âYouâre right. Iâll be back home and leaving my lecture outlines and worksheets all over the place like usual.âÂ
Jongdae laughed, the sound light and cheery like always, reminding you of sweet lemonade on a warm day. âI found a page from one of your lectures the other day. It was under the table in the living room. I didnât realize how much I really missed you until I started getting all emotional over a piece of paper, and it was like the most boring of papers you could have ever imagined. It was a sample page from a dictionary, your freaking Latin dictionary, can you believe it? I was tearing up over that?!â
A snort escaped from you, and you fought back the giggles as you heard Jongdae joke over the line about how it wasnât supposed to be funny, it was supposed to be touching and romantic.Â
Youâve missed talking to him like this.Â
A couple of days later, you were sitting beside one of your colleagues in a private bus on your way to your destination: the University of KwaZulu-Natal. The trip would be long, almost six hours if you were lucky, but the dean of your department had a close friend who taught Zulu at the university, and had arranged for him to get your travel group familirized with the language. You were looking forward to a change in scenery after staying in Johannesburg for the past month, and thankfully the hotel that you would be staying at in Durban was close to the ocean.Â
You stared out the window aimlessly, watching the other cars and people as they passed by while the rest of your colleagues chattered amongst themselves. Since you were so caught up in your own thoughts, you almost missed the slight buzz coming from your cellphone.Â
Quickly, you pulled it out of your pocket, letting out a sigh of relief when you saw who had texted you: Jongdae.
JD: did you sleep well? :)
đ·: I did! đ what are you doing right now?
JD: missing youÂ
đ·: jesus CHRIST dae
JD: i love you!!! so much
You giggled softly to yourself, garnering the attention from your seatmate, Nari. She had been teaching at the university a bit longer than you had, and she was like an older sister to you. âTexting your boyfriend?â she asked with a playful wiggle of her eyebrows.Â
âThe one and only,â you replied, sending Jongdae a text before putting your phone down so that you could talk to your colleague properly. âHeâs been extremely cheesy lately.âÂ
âHe must miss you a lot.âÂ
âYeah.â Nari didnât fail to notice how your face fell, and she gave your arm a light poke.Â
âLook at you, Miss Lovebird over here,â she sang with a childish grin. âI bet youâll be the happiest out of all of us when we get to go home.âÂ
Her efforts to cheer you up didnât go unnoticed, and you were overcome with gratitude for this entire experience. Not only was the trip extremely well-planned out, but your colleagues and seniors were also friendly and kind as well. You really couldnât ask for a better trip.Â
âI guess so,â you replied, resting your head against the back of your seat. âAlthough I heard that youâve got someone waiting for you back home too.âÂ
âWhat?! Who told you?â Nari exclaimed in a hushed whisper, quickly looking around to make sure no one had heard. âI didnât even say a word about him to anyone!âÂ
The next hour was filled with soft giggles and gossip about the budding romance between your colleague and another professor in your universityâs History department.Â
When the long drive was finally crawling to an end and you were able to catch the sight of the rippling crystal-clear ocean by the coast of Durban, you let out a sigh of relief. Being landlocked didnât suit you, and getting even a small glimpse of the water was enough to put you at ease.Â
The hotel was situated close to the beach, promising you a beautiful view of the sunrise and the sunset every day for the remaining month in South Africa. Eager to show Jongdae, you stepped out onto the balcony of your room and held your phone up, snapping a vibrant photo of the landscape before you. Without hesitation, you sent the picture to Jongdae before remembering that it was almost midnight over in South Korea.Â
JD: youâre at the beach??Â
đ·: close to it, our hotel is like right by it     sorry, were you about to fall asleep?
JD: no iâm over at minseokâs house    he and chanyeol say hi đđ»
đ·: tell them i say hi too!!     babe, weâre coming here together someday so we can stay in this hotel
JD: YES!!!! âïž
đ·: lol i love the enthusiasm!
JD: you know me, your trusty hype man always on hand
đ·: true, true đ do you have time to talk? not facetime tho, i look so sweaty ugh
A couple of seconds after sending the last text, your phone screen changed to alert you of an incoming call from Jongdae. You smiled at the profile picture you had set for him: one of him grinning widely as he stood with his arms wrapped around you from behind. It had been taken at your birthday dinner last year, and you could never find the will to change the picture. âHello?â
âBabe!â he yelled, a laugh filled with giddiness filtering out through the phoneâs speaker. âI want to go over there to see you right now,â he said, a wistful whine seeping into his voice. âAnd you know I donât care how sweaty you are,â he added in reference to your last text.Â
Before you could answer, another voice broke in. âY/N!â You easily recognized the voice as Chanyeolâs. âHurry up and come back, your boyfriendâs going crazy without you!â
âI am not!â You heard Jongdae yell, and the sounds of scuffling as you assumed the boys were fighting over the phone.
âDae? Hello?â you called out, rolling your eyes as they continued to wrestle over the phone. Suddenly, as if at the flick of a light switch, all traces of the boysâ fight were gone, leaving only an empty silence on the other side of the phone. âDae?â you tried once again, eyes growing shifty as you tried to figure out what had happened.
âHey, Y/N,â a new voice spoke. âI stole the phone from these goofs before they could break it.âÂ
You let out a breath you hadnât even realized you had been holding. âHi, Minseok. I hope Dae hasnât been bugging you too much. Howâve you been?âÂ
âEh, same as usual.â You could tell the older boy was smiling, the thought of his wide grin bringing back memories of home with your friends.Â
âHey, give me my phone back! I was talking to the love of my life!â Jongdae yelled out, probably from behind Minseok, you guessed.Â
Minseok sighed, pretending to gag before you heard him yelp. âIt was nice talking to you, Y/N. Iâm giving the phone back before Jongdae punches me again. Enjoy the rest of your trip!âÂ
âThanks, Minseok!âÂ
A breathless Jongdae was heard once more, panting slightly as he spoke into the phone again. âHi again, babe.â
âDae, why are you breathing like that?â
âHave you ever tried to grab a phone from Chanyeol? That monsterâs like two buildings tall.â You heard the sound of a door clicking shut. âIâm hiding out in Minseokâs bedroom now so they donât try to steal it away again.â
âMm, good thinking.âÂ
âSo, where were we?âÂ
âI honestly donât even remember. Probably something along the lines of us missing each other a lot.â
âYeah, that sounds like us.âÂ
âJust four more weeks, and then Iâll be back home. I canât wait to show you all the pictures I took. And the beach here is so pretty! I mean, I havenât gotten a chance to actually go down there yet, but Iâm planning to whenever I can.âÂ
âIs it prettier than the ones here?âÂ
âNothing beats the beaches back home.âÂ
âWe should go on a trip together someday, but your semesterâs coming up soon and Iâm always busy with work.â Jongdae made a small noise, a small humming as he tried to think of a solution.Â
âWe could always leave work behind and go on a surprise trip,â you teased, knowing both of you would never actually do such a thing.
True enough, Jongdae laughed. âEven Iâm not that spontaneous, athough the idea is tempting. Iâd love nothing more than to just have more than a couple hours just for the two of us. No work, nothing to worry about.âÂ
âSame.â You thought back to your last date with Jongdae; a trip to the movie theater to go see Infinity War. Both of you were entirely too busy to have more than the weekends and the occasional day off. Even then, it seemed like some parts of your minds were always reminded of something that needed taking care of at work.Â
The door to your hotel room opened behind you, and you spun around to see Nariâs head peeking out from behind. Her eyes glanced up to the phone at your ear before she tapped at her watch, then held up five fingers.Â
You looked over at the clock on your nightstand, surprised to see it was almost time for dinner. With a grateful smile to your roommate for the reminder, you watched as she silently closed the door behind her. âDae, I have to go. The rest of the staff is meeting downstairs for dinner with the dean, and I canât be late.âÂ
âYeah, no worries! Iâll text you later before I fall asleep.âÂ
âOkay, bye Dae. I love you.âÂ
âI love you too, babe.âÂ
The next couple of weeks passed by so quickly, you were almost convinced that they had been a dream. Your team got to learn from some of the universityâs professors not only about the Zulu language, but also about the culture and the history of the people who spoke it. The professors were kind and accommodating every step of the way, and you had been over the moon when they gave you copies of some of the materials that they used to teach in their classes. The appeal of having new material to share with your students and colleagues back home was so great, you almost forgot about how homesick you had been at the beginning of the trip.Â
Before you knew it, it was your final week in South Africa, and you had almost everything prepared for your return trip back home. Your suitcases were nearly packed with your belongings and souvenirs for your loved ones waiting for you, a daily reminder that soon, you would be back. It seemed that the feeling was contagious â the number one topic that you and your colleagues all talked about was what it would be like when the plane landed back in South Korea.Â
âThe first thing Iâm gonna do is run back home to visit my mom,â Justin, a professor in Ethnic Studies, spoke up. You were all gathered around a set of tables at a restaurant, lazing around and relishing in the easy conversation that came to you all. Drinks had followed after the savory dishes, and you would be lying if you said that you werenât feeling a bit tipsy at this point.Â
âBecause you miss her?â someone called out, too far down the table for you to see who it was.Â
âWell, yeah, that too. But also because I miss her cooking.âÂ
The table broke out into groans and chortles of laughter as Justinâs voice grew louder. âWhat?â he asked, face red from the drinks he had earlier and his embarrassment.Â
âI never wouldâve guessed that alcohol makes our friend Justin here all sentimental,â Nari whispered to you, hiding her smirk behind her hand.Â
You hummed in agreement, downing the rest of your drink before setting it down on the table. âYouâre one to talk,â you said with a laugh, the sound more of a silly giggle as you let yourself relax. âRemember that time we went drinking to celebrate you getting approved for tenure and you cried for hours at the bar?â
âShe did what?!â Justin yelled, eyes bugging out as he glanced from you to Nari. Who would have imagined calm, always-prepared Nari as emotional when drunk?
She shot you a glare, but you pretended not to notice and continued on. âIf you ever see Nari drunk, she gets all sappy and basically starts giving speeches about how much she loves every single person in her life. That time, I was worried until she started talking about how thankful she was to everyone she worked with. In. Full. Detail. We were there for practically the whole night.â âAlright, and alcohol turns you into a chatterbox,â Nari interrupted, pulling you up along with her. âIâll be taking this girl back to the hotel before she gets even more intoxicated.âÂ
The rest of your drinking party shouted out their farewells, some of them advising you two to stay safe as you stumbled out of the restaurant.Â
âIâm not that drunk,â you grumbled, although you let Nari hold onto your arm for safety. As you continued to walk, you found yourself leaning onto her more and more, your steps growing heavier.Â
âYeah, okay. Iâm pretty sure your boyfriend would lose his mind if I let you do something crazy.âÂ
Your eyes widened at the mention of Jongdae, and you clumsily got the clasp of your bag open, rummaging through it for your cell phone. âI should call him! I canât remember the last time I even texted him.â
âY/N, I saw you texting him an hour ago. Heâll live without you texting him until tomorrow morning.â
Despite her words, you finally got your phone out and began typing out a text to Jongdae.
đ·: dae i loove yiu
JD: babe? are you okay??
đ·: aveolutelyy fome
You squinted at the screen of your phone, trying to decipher your own text while Nari stood beside you and tried to call a taxi. Your phone suddenly started to ring, the familiar ringtone that you reserved for Jongdae playing in your ears.Â
âY/N?â you could hear him say, and you pressed the phone lazily to your ear. âWhere are you?â he asked, concern lacing his voice.Â
âOut eating. And drinking.â You stifled a small burp before continuing on. âI love you, Dae.â
âI love you too babe, but are you sure youâre okay?âÂ
âI am absolutely, one hundred percent fine.âÂ
Nari leaned closer, rolling her eyes at your statement. âJongdae? This is Nari, your girlfriendâs pretty drunk so Iâm taking her back to our room.âÂ
âThanks,â Jongdae sighed out in relief.Â
âHe says thanks,â you relayed to Nari. âBut youâre wrong â Iâm not pretty drunk, Iâm only slightly drunk.âÂ
Nari snorted at this, continuing to look for a taxi while you heard Jongdae speak up through the phone. âI really doubt that,â Jongdae said with a chuckle. âGet some rest and Iâll call you later.â
âPromise?âÂ
âPinky promise.âÂ
âOkay. You better remember.âÂ
Jongdae let out a breathy laugh before making a sound in acknowledgement. âI will. Goodnight, babe.âÂ
âGoodnight,â you murmured before hanging up, the phone cold and heavy in your hand.Â
A taxi suddenly drove up to the sidewalk, and Nari patted your shoulder softly. âCome on, Miss Lovebird. Letâs get you back so you can catch some sleep.âÂ
You let her help you into the cab, leaning against her shoulder as she gave the hotelâs address to the driver. âNari?â you asked, watching the lights of other cars whiz past as you looked out through the window.Â
âYeah?âÂ
âThanks for always looking out for me.âÂ
She glanced down at you, brows raised in surprise. âYeah, of course. Itâs nothing.â As your best friend, it was second nature for her to have your back. Of course, she didnât tell you that before this trip, Jongdae had asked her to keep you safe as well.Â
âThat boyfriend of yours is a real gentleman,â she told you, a smile tugging at the corners of her lips. âYou guys are so cute, it makes me sick.âÂ
You shook your head, closing your eyes. âJongdaeâs the cute one.â
âOkay. Just go to sleep, dream about Jongdae or something,â she teased.
You didnât answer, the only indication that you had heard being a small nod.Â
You didnât remember much of anything else, except for being woken up by Nari, heading up the elevator and then a fluffy blanket being draped over you.Â
And silly as it was, you did dream of Jongdae.
The countdown to your flight was drawing excitingly closer, and you felt as if you were all the way up on cloud nine with no intention of coming down. But of course, something managed to bring you down anyways. Multiple things, in fact.Â
The first disappointment came a couple of days before your flight was scheduled to return home. Jongdae had called you just as you were about to leave the university and head back to your hotel, his words coming out in a blur.
âBabe, Iâm sorry, but something came up and I canât pick you up at the airport when you get back. But Iâll send someone to come get you, I promise!âÂ
âDae, donât worry about it. Iâll grab a ride from a friend or something,â you told him, even though you did feel slightly let down by this change in events.Â
âNo, Iâll make sure thereâs someone there to get you! I donât want you to have to go home by yourself.â
Even with the sudden drop in your mood, you still couldnât find it in yourself to be mad at Jongdae. Whenever things fell through, he always found a way to make up for it. âAlright, Dae. Iâll see you soon.â
The next blow hit you when you were finally, at long last aboard the flight and realized that you were missing a USB full of notes and assignments you had collected during your summer in South Africa. The files contained things you wanted to include in your lectures for the new semester, and after failing to find it in your carry-on with your laptop, you could only hope that it was with your luggage. It really wasnât as big of a deal as you thought it was, considering the fact that you could email the professors in South Africa and explain the situatoon to them. But with tensions already high and fatigue riddling your brain, the USB remained a dark cloud over your thoughts. For the rest of your flight, you were constantly plagued with the worry that it had been left behind in South Africa, now thousands of miles away and laying abandoned on a polished hotel table.Â
When your flight finally landed after an excruciating twenty-seven hours up in the air, you grabbed your belongings and headed out to where Jongdae had texted you to wait for your pickup. At that point, you were so tired that you forgot about looking for your USB, and you were determined to catch some sleep in the comforts of your bed with your favorite person.
You had said your goodbyes to everyone else, giving Nari a hug and promising to call her before heading over to where Jongdae had said your ride would be. You were walking with your bags in hand, looking down at your phone when someone called out your name, the voice all too familiar. Looking up, you saw Junmyeon waiting for you, waving his hand and holding up a sign that read: âProfessor Y/N, welcome home!â Â
âJun!â you screamed excitedly, or at least, as much as your jet-lagged, exhausted self would let you. You came closer with arms outstretched, leaving the suitcases a couple of paces behind.Â
âWelcome back!â he greeted you cheerily, returning your hug and then taking the suitcases himself. âHow was your flight?â
âLong. I honestly just want to sleep for decades. Oh!â You suddenly remembered the USB, explaining the story in full detail to Junmyeon even as he looked over you warily.
âWe can look for your USB later, I think your health is more important. Plus, Jongdae will be pissed at me if you end up fainting from exhaustion. Come on.â
You lumbered into Junmyeonâs car, letting your head rest on the window as the two of you talked. Junmyeon filled you in on everything you had missed: from Jongin and Chanyeolâs joint cafe venture being a success, to Yixingâs latest return from Changsha. You gave him the gist of your trip, elaborate stories shortened down to small summaries in your weary condition, but Junmyeon knew heâd end up hearing the full stories sometime later on once you were well-rested.Â
He pulled up to your place, immediately getting out to grab your suitcases for you. âWill you be okay getting this stuff up by yourself?â he asked worriedly, his feet shuffling slightly as he thought.Â
âYeah, Iâll take the elevator, donât worry. Is Jongdae home?âÂ
His eyes widened briefly before he looked away, clearing his throat before he spoke. âUh, I donât know. He didnât tell me anything before I came to pick you up.âÂ
Too worn out to question his behavior, you gave little thought to his response. After waving goodbye, you managed to get all of your belongings inside, up the elevator and to your floor. The wheels of your suitcases made a hushed, rustling sound as they rolled over the carpeted hallway. There was no one else out yet, seeing as it was still only eight in the morning and on a Saturday, no less. You let out a small huff of exhaustion as you got to your door, unlocking it and pushing it open with your shoulder. What lay beyond the threshold, however, left you speechless.Â
You were taken aback to see papers scattering almost every available surface of your home, each one slightly different from the rest. From where you stood at the door, you could tell that there was a line of text on each one of them, although you couldnât tell what they said from this distance.
After switching your shoes for your well-missed slippers, you ventured closer to a sheer of paper laying on the floor next to the shoe rack. A smile lit up your face as you realized what was on it: the words âI love youâ. A glance at the pages nearby showed the same phrase, but in other languages.Â
A small journey around the room had you gaping in awe at the diversity of the langauges scattered throughout it. âI love youâ in Korean stared up at you from the couch, one in Italian was taped to the TV. You were even impressed to see it written out in Icelandic and even Xhosa and Zulu, the two languages you had been studying during your summer trip.Â
âOh my God,â you breathed out, taking precious time to study each sheet of paper, every symbol on them all written in a hand you knew too well: Jongdaeâs. âDae?â you called out, stepping over a sheet of paper in your way. âAre you in here?â
You turned the lights on as you made your way to the bedroom, the bulbs sputtering to life as they lit up overhead. When you finally got there, pushing the door open cautiously, you were disappointed to see no sign of Jongdae anywhere. Upon further inspection, you caught sight of a small, yellow envelope resting on top of the blankets.Â
Careful to take your time in reading, you couldnât help the smile that came to your face and the sudden warmth settling in your chest.Â
âWelcome home, babe! Iâve missed you, I hope you enjoyed the small surprise I set up~ Iâm sure youâre wondering where I am, right? Meet me at the place where we first met, Iâll be waiting for you there â€ïžâ
The place where you first met? You remembered first meeting Jongdae at a mutual friendâs housewarming party, but you were confident that he didnât mean for you to meet him there? Surely you were missing something...
You paced around, the envelope in your hand as you willed yourself to think. âCome on brain, work with me here,â you pleaded, throwing your head back to stare up at the ceiling as you continued to walk around in circles.Â
Circles. A hand came to your mouth as the answer suddenly hit you like a flash of lightning. The party was the first place where you two had actually spoken to each other, but you two had met each other for the first time while walking in circles at the botanical gardens close to your university. You were there on a lazy Sunday afternoon with Sehun taking pictures to fit his Instagram aesthetic when he had spotted his friends, Jongdae and Kyungsoo. Jongdae had assumed you two were dating at first, and he had later confided to you that he was glad the opposite was true.Â
Quicker than you would have thought physically possible, you were back downstairs and beginning to worry about how to get to the gardens when you recognized a car parked outside.
âJun? What are you still doing here?â you asked, peering into his car.Â
Junmyeon rolled down the passenger window, a playful grin on his face as he unlocked the doors. âNeed a ride?âÂ
âYouâre in on this too!â you exclaimed, hopping into the car.Â
âIâm guessing you know where weâre going?â he asked, already setting off.Â
âSeoul Iris Garden!âÂ
The drive was far too long for your waning patience, your feet tapping against the floor of the car as you fidgeted in your seat. All of the fatigue that had been weighing you down earlier was gone, a sudden rush of adrenaline replacing it.Â
âWill you at least tell me where heâs waiting?â you pleaded, for what was probably the fiftieth time since you got in.
âItâs a secret. And if I tell you, it wonât be as fun.âÂ
âFor you, or for me?âÂ
Junmyeon ignored this with a knowing smile, pulling into the parking lot. Before he could even put the car into park, you were out and jogging into the depths of the gardens.Â
The gardens were peacefully quiet, only a couple of people walking around in the early morning. You, by contrast, were out of breath and starting to get sweaty with all of the running around you were doing. You had seriously underestimated how difficult it would be to find Jongdae.Â
As you dashed past patches of flowers, you finally caught sight of a small figure standing atop a bridge spanning a small stream. âJongdae!â you chirped out, a triumphant laugh leaving your lips as you approached him.Â
He turned around, his grin spreading on his face and his eyes alight with mirth as soon as he caught sight of you. A burst of laughter bubbled out of him as you wrapped your arms around his waist, holding him close to you as you rested your head against his chest. âYou found me! And you saw all the papers back home?âÂ
âI did! I canât believe you had me run over here in my airport sweats though, especially now that I see what youâre wearing,â you joked as you loosened your grip to look him over. Jongdae stood before you in a button-down you had bought for him a couple of years ago, with a pair of black pants and shiny dress shoes.Â
âYou know it doesnât matter to me even if youâre even out in pajamas,â he murmured. He lifted a hand to your face, running his thumb over your cheek as he gazed into your eyes, as if he couldnât believe you were really there before him.Â
âSo whatâs the big occassion? This is all a bit much just to welcome me home, isnât it?âÂ
âWell...â Jongdae cleared his throat before dropping his hand from your face. He held onto both of your hands in his own, his thumbs running over the back of them nervously. âI missed you so much, more than I even expected.âÂ
âI missed you too, Dae.â You leaned up to press your lips to his, the sensation of his lips against yours something that you had been longing for ever since you left.Â
Jongdae pulled away, much too quickly before your liking before resting his forehead against yours. âThis trip was an eye-opener to me. I mean, I already knew that I loved you, but I didnât know that I had room in my heart to love you even more until after you were miles away from me. I looked forward to every text, every phone call, every picture that you sent me. Chanyeol wasnât kidding when he said I was going crazy with you gone,â he added with a small chuckle. âI think I went over these plans like crazy for the past month or so.âÂ
âAnd it definitely swept me off my feet. Thank you, Dae.â You nudged his nose with yours, giving a hushed giggle when he pressed back, just as gently.Â
âThereâs still one more thing.âÂ
Jongdae let go of your hands, and before you knew it, he was down on one knee and pulling a small box out of his pocket as you gaped down at him. With trembling fingers, he got the top of the box open, revealing a delicately designed ring inside, the diamonds there sparkling in the light of the morning sun.Â
âY/N, I love you. So much. I canât imagine a day without you in my life. I love hearing the sound of your laughter, the way you whisper to me when weâre falling asleep at night. I want to wake up beside you everyday for the rest of my life, not just as your boyfriend, but as your husband. Will you marry me?âÂ
You were nodding even before he could finish his question, dropping down beside him and catching his lips with yours in a kiss. âOf course,â you breathed against his lips. âOf course Iâll marry you.âÂ
Jongdae beamed at you with a smile so full of love, you werenât sure how any single person was capable of carrying around so much affection. You let him slip the ring onto your finger, the cool metal resting there as if it had been there all along. He brought your hand up, his lips brushing over the ring as you felt a flush start to dust your cheeks.Â
Your relationship was strong enough to withstand time and distance, something both of you had learned through this trip. Together or apart, you two would always come back together. Home was with Jongdae, and his was with you.Â
And now, the two of you would create a new one together.Â
A/N: i knew going into this that there really was only one option for the ending â absolute fluff haha! i hope that you guys enjoyed this and that it was worth the wait! this fic was inspired by exo-cbxâs âmiss youâ, which talks about a long-distance relationship as well (and also the song is just really good, so that was definitely on repeat while i was writing this) also fun fact: i almost majored in linguistics, and then decided against it because grammar is my #1 enemy đ

Colby Brock: Your scentđ
Warnings: none except I really like to cuss xD
To anybody who doesn't know: Y/N- your name
Once again you're in your hometown, billions of miles away from your friends and your crush. So you sit there in this cold-ass living room, wrapped up in three layers of blankets, zapping through the channels of your TV and sighing melancholy every once in a while. By each minute that passes by your boredom gets worse and your sighs louder. Your parents aren't even at home to see your suffering self because they are both gone hiking. You wanted to tag along with them but they went with some friends and told you to sleep in, after all it has been a long time since you really had some relaxation just by yourself. That might be true but you still barely can handle this situation right now. You remember the promise you gave your parents months ago,"I promise you, I'll be at home with you guys for at least three weeks in the summer break! You can even plan what we are going to do! "... Great job there Y/N... It's not like you don't love your parents or dislike hanging out with them it's just if you had known that they would just be gone the whole time and you would sit around with nothing to do, you would have known better. Like for example maybe make a list of what y'all could do together and not letting them plan. Anyways you love your parents dearly but you also miss your friends. You miss Corey's dance moves, Devyn's make-up tips, Sam's challenges, Kat's hugs, Aaron's singing, Elton's traveling ideas, Amanda's laughter, Brennen's nicknames for you and who you miss the most is the wonderful Colby Brock. While your thumb is still zapping through the thousands of channels your mind drifts off, "What might they all be up to right now? I kinda wonder what Colby is doing... should I text him? What if he's working right now and I'm just bothering him? I might be thinking too much.." You shake your head to get all of this thoughts outta your head. Suddenly your phone starts vibrating. With a lazy groan you roll over to unlock this noise-maker. As soon as you see who texted you, you jump off the couch with pure excitement:It's Colby! After you've finished your happy dance and totally failing at the attempt to play the air-guitar, you open the chat.
Colby: "How's it going pretty lady? đ"
"WINKY FACE! WINKY FUCKING FACE OH MY FUCKING GOD!HE CALLED ME PRETTY AND LADY WE ARE PRACTICALLY MARRIED", you scream and jump around the house. Of course you want to keep your cool in front of him so you try to think of a laid back answer. But it still took you 47 tries to simply type,
"Pretty good, boredom tortures me a little tho. What about yourself handsome? đ"
You bounce around and kinda regret calling him "handsome" even though he certainly is one hella attractive man but it sounds kind of cringey when you think of it. But because of your excitement you just shrug and don't give a single fuck. Not even a minute after you've hit send Colby texts.
Colby:"handsome huh?đAre you trying to make me blush? Well your plan works I'm a tomatođ
Anyways Brennen's keeping me company in my room right now and I'm laying in bed watching him taking selfies... Quite interesting I must say"
You giggle to yourself imagining those two and before you could type your answer you see a message from the contact "Hot stuffđ" pop up. It's Brennen asking if you have time for a quick chat on FaceTime. You slightly fix your hair and call him. Brennen greets you with a wide smile and a loud, "What's good what's popping what's Guccii baby? " As far you've noticed, Brennen's in the kitchen of the squads house at the moment holding a sandwich in his right hand. You laugh and ask, "Hey Brennen everything's just fine here. Why did you wanna call me it sounded like you wanna tell me something really important?" The young YouTuber chuckles and says, "Well it's not necessarily an emergency but surely important. So yeah let's begin: I'm at the squads house and I think you've noticed that by now and some minutes ago I was like chillin with my bae Colby and taking some dope-ass selfies and he was texting you of course. He had like this big-ass grin on his face and I decided to go through my Instagram. After a short while I noticed him pulling out a piece of clothing that was underneath his pillow. And I thought 'what's he doin with that shirt?' so I continued watching him sneakily. Colby then decides to start sniffing the shirt and boy I was so confused. I thought this was a hella new level to self love but then it got me like a lightning strike. The shirt was the shirt you wore on your last day here before you left when we were camping in the garden with the others. Man this boy misses you like crazy! Oh and he has also been talking bout you all the time since you've been gone! "
You can't believe what Brennen just told you. The smile on your face can't be stopped and all you want to do right now is dance around and hug everybody on this damn planet. Your friend notices your joy and says, "Aww look at your cute smile! Besides I didn't want him to interrupt me telling our angel this cute but weird story so I told him I gotta grab a sandwich.",he took a big bite out of the sandwich and keeps on talking, "But now I have to show you this kid in love~" So Brennen walks up the stairs, slams the door of Colby's room wide open and sings/yells, "COLBYYYY LOOK WHO'S ON THE PHONE WITH MEEEE" He switches cameras so you could see Colby laying on his bed cuddling with a black shirt. This boy is so confused and just looks up to Brennen and says, "Bro what the fuck? Who are you on the phone with?" You hear laughter behind the camera and Brennen's voice saying, " It's our beloved Y/N wanna explain to her why you are cuddling with the t-shirt she wore just some weeks ago?" Colby's eyes widen drastically and his shocked mimic makes you burst out in laughter. As soon as he heard you laugh the embarrassed YouTuber starts to laugh himself and blushes heavily. Looking at his beautiful smile and hearing his laughter makes you think to yourself, "I can't wait to soon hold him close again"đ
