I decided to do a nice thing for myself and my bf by upgrading the gpu on my desktop (which he primary uses) and it turned into a 4-hour headache where I thought I fried my computer.

the culprit? a $10 usb hub I bought 5 years ago decided to short at the same time as me installing the new gpu, causing my motherboard to not post. it took so long to figure out because I didn't expect a working thing to suddenly not
