hmm there aren’t any popular sokka ships that i’m Strongly against really? like i’m a fan of yuekka, sukka, and zukka, and i’m not really a fan of anything else i guess

favorite platonic/familial relationships

sokka and toph “violence is ok sometimes when i’m the one doing it” bff rights! i just feel like their (platonic) love languages really match up, he’s very caring but in a big brother practical what makes the most sense will keep you safe way, and toph struggles to receive care in more intimate, emotional ways so she benefits a lot from having him there to be logical for her and he benefits a lot from her giving him the space to not be the responsible one 100% of the time, like sokka u can have some fun and money for a messenger hawk. as a treat.

a headcanon that is popular in the fandom but that i disagree with

that he would be ambassador to the fire nation… like ive come to enjoy it sometimes bc there’s just so much content about it but i think it’s kind of a lazy move from #zukka nation to get them in the same place. i think sokka would feel stifled being in the fire nation for long periods of time with no end in sight, and i also think he would want to do lots of different kinds of work and learning and so i think he would do better as a professor at a university like ba sing se or republic city - schedule flexibility for research, easy access to collaboration with others in various fields and incorporation of a range of arts and sciences into his own work, getting to talk to a giant room of people who really want to listen to him and share his discoveries with students who recognize him for the genius he is, a nice big travel stipend to go see his friends wherever they are and travel home to spend time with his family and test like. sea ice or something. and in a place like ba sing se he would also be at the convenient epicenter of huge political stronghold, so he could sit in meetings with king kuei and maybe serve as a strategic advisor to him and leaders of other nations whenever they come by (especially considering he’s either dating or related to like. half of them). he would have plenty of inspiration all around him and lots of different foods to try and he could go to play pai sho and chat with iroh whenever. ok i’ve thought about this a lot apparently
