In her zone. Lying down. Not a soul in sight.
Its her ideal kind of conditions, though... at this time of year, when the snow is thick and plentiful, it gets to be a but more gutting than normal.

MONKIE KID S3E5: Amnesia Rules (Live Blog) SPOILERS
Because I couldn't stop the temptation of reading, this is one of the episodes I get spoiled at. Of course, I only know SWK somehow has amnesia, how? IDK, but I'm hoping for Amnesia Wukong and Macaque interactions! It would be nice their earlier relationship! Especially with Mac's shadow play episode
I totally forgot that Tang and Pigsy are in a bad situation
Yeah! Wake that monkey up, Pigsy!
Wait, it's dangerous? Is this how we'll get amnesia SWK?
You know, I bet whatever predator outside is quite harmless and they're panicking for no reason
Good question Tang! But this is a cartoon, so cartoon logic!
Did I hear that right? Master?
Ummmm, so, like... Wukong is seeing Zhu Bajie and Tripipaka instead of Tang and Pigsy?
I had to pause the episode for 15 minutes cuz I'm reading this in
Yeah, it's the other way around Wukong
How is Mo...?! Nvm
Wait, Tripipaka isn't his Chinese name?! It's Tang SanZang!? Well, at least that explains ORV characters and how Tang got his name being the reincarnation of Tripipaka. And yes, I'll be still calling him Tripipaka instead Tang SanZang
Bonk thee head
Okay, why are you offended, SWK?
Just like Tripipaka, Tang also gets a demon kidnap
It just hit me. Scorpion female demon? That demon wanted to marry Tripipaka in JTTW, well at least that what Overly Sarcastic Productions said
Her voice is familiar. By any chance, did she voice Amethyst from SU?
SHE IS!
Tang knows what's up
Wait, Tang had been kidnapped before!? *mind blown*
One way to get a guy is through his stomach. And Tang is the embodiment of that advice
Like everything else, I'm suspicious and the foods are fake and has glamour on them!
Actually, with that evil laugh, she probs putted something in the food
I mean, SWK trainings are full of riddles and no straight answers
Then why have a successor when you, yourself don't believe in teaching someone? Oh right, 500 years on loneliness gets that to you
The local TD? What dat?
It took the whole night until the sun in the sky for this much information!?
WHAT!?
Oh, so the fire is a ring? Looking at the next episode title, seems like we're getting it there not here
The demons in JTTW would like to beg to differ
Wait, WUkong can dispel illusions!?
Not helping Wukong!
The 'ignore him', got to me. Wonder how the dynamic between Tripipaka and JTTW-SWK are. Tired master and energetic oblivious student dynamic
Awh(?) Wukong(?)
Awh, worried friend Pigsy!
Well, at least you'll have a new recipe of noodles! With permission of course is a need!
Woah! Tang!
Okay, why did you come to that conclusion? She never said anything!?
Okay, we're just rolling with it? Ok
Tang and Pigsy and shocked to be called friends
Yeah, SWK def had Mac in mind
This is what you wanted Amethyst-Scorpio-Demon
Yeah, he is getting worse
Pigsy your inner Zhu Bajie is speaking
Four?!
Okay! Bad timing! We could've gotten more info!
Don't worry! He's a stone monkey!
Aw, just like his birth
You're just feeling the effects of the chilli?
Yeah, that lonesome monkey is def missing his master and brother
And Finished!

Hello! Since I saw requests are open can you do one where reader has like a ton of stuff and any time someone would go to them it would just be for stuff and one dat they snap because everyone just uses them For resources? I would write that myself but I forgot I have to much homework (It's okay if don't want to)
Broken Promises
Pairings: DreamSMP x GN! Reader
Warnings: Self Doubts
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
(Y/N) remembered before the wars. Before even the first disc war.
There were fair trades and everyone worked for what they needed alongside them. Even Tommy was responsible with trades with them.
They were a harder worker themselves and it was no surprise they had hordes of valuable resources and it helped to even keep them well stocked on other items.
Then all the wars happened. There were no times for trades, only broken promises to return the favor and run off to battle. (Y/N) stayed away from sides and instead was there to just help people survive. They supposed that was why they were ok with it a first.
People needed to live and when these same people’s houses were getting blown up or burned down or resources stolen, it was only fair they helped them out. They were a kind soul as much as they were a hard-working one. What’re a few diamonds to help a boy who lost his home for the third time?
It took a long time for things to stabilize, it took even a few deaths, but in the end, it seemed to stabilize even just slightly. There was no need for a constant rush with supplies anymore. No impending war hanging over everyone’s head so they could finally go back to trading normally…But trading never seemed to come back.
It was still a give only system with promises for a returned favor. The only people that traded with (Y/N) fairly were Philza and freaking Ghostbur!
But (Y/N) would often take a deep breath and remind themselves, people were still recovering. There had been war after war. People still needed help. A nation had just been bombarded after all by its own past leader.
They kept their cool and let time pass, maybe it would improve…
“(Y/N)!” Ghostbur grinned as he just let himself into their home, a newly trimmed sheep behind him. “How are you today?”
(Y/N) laughed lightly as they close the chest they were organizing. “I’m doing pretty well Ghostbur, would you like some blue?”
“Yes! I’m running rather low. But I have some wool from Friend for it!” Ghostbur smiled.
“Thank you Ghostbur.” They chuckled lightly handing over a bag filled with the blue gems before taking the bag of wool Ghostbur had been trimming from Friend. “And here’s some wheat just for you Friend, no extra price.”
“Thank you!” Ghostbur beamed. “Oh! And Tommy asked if he could have some diamonds.” (Y/N) stiffened as they were turning to put the wool away. “He said he’ll bring resources back and he said you’d be alright with it”
(Y/N) gripped the bag of wool. It had been months since L’Manberg had been blown away by Wilbur. Their government was stable and they could finally worry about themselves. They had to put their foot down. These were their friends but they couldn’t just keep doing this give system.
“I uh, I can’t spare anything right now Ghostbur unless he trades. Can you tell him to come here himself with things to trade with?”
“Sure! Thank you for the blue (Y/N)! Have a good day! Bye, bye! Bye, bye!” He waved as he left, (Y/N) sighing once they were alone.
It was a reasonable request and they carried on with their day…until there was a furious knock on their door. They raised an eyebrow before opening it ajar and there stood a fuming Tommy.
“What do you mean you need resources to trade right now?” Tommy threw up his hands. “You haven’t asked for anything upfront before!”
“Hello to you too, Tommy.” They rolled their eyes before leaning on the doorframe. “L’Manberg is back on its feet and so are its citizens. I think it’s fair that I ask for immediate trades again.”
“Come on (Y/N)! We’re friends! And you know I’m good for my word!” Tommy tried to convince them.
“Are you though? Tommy, no one has returned the favor in months.” (Y/N) said.
“That can’t be true.” Tommy waved his hand dismissively.
“No, it is.” (Y/N) stood up straight. “I have less and less resources every day and I work pretty damn hard for these items. So, I think I should get some sort of compensation for the work I’m putting in.”
“(Y/N) come on. We’re friends. I swear I’ll-”
But (Y/N) finally felt something snap and threw up their arms.
“Are you though?! Everyone says I’m friends with them but I haven’t felt like I’ve had a single friend since all this fucking chaos started! Everyone said they were though! ‘Oh, (Y/N), we’re great friends, can’t you help me and my other friends with things.’ And ‘oh, (Y/N), we’re such good mates, why don’t you join us?’ But now! Now I realize all you guys fucking wanted was my shit! None of you were my friends!
“You don’t want to trade, you don’t want to barter, you just want my things and leave! Even now, you came here demanding to know why I didn’t just hand my own resources over without even a simple hello! So, here.” (Y/N) went over to a chest and tossed a bag of diamonds at the boy, which hit him right in the chest, though he caught it. “There’s your damn diamonds. Now, your favor is to tell everyone, I refuse to trade, ever. Good day.”
And they slammed the door, leaning their back against it before sliding down. It had been a pretty shitty time and now, it came all crashing down on them and they sat there, tearing up. Since the wars, they haven’t had anyone and now there truly wouldn’t be anyone but them…
(Y/N) ran their hoe through their small field, trying to get a new patch of wheat to grow. No one had been around in days and the loneliness was most certainly starting to seep in. They sighed deeply, leaning on the tool before picking it up and going towards their house. Maybe it was time for a break today.
As they went to open the door, they stopped seeing a handful of figures coming down the path. Sapnap, Tubbo, Fundy, Punz, Purpled. People they had “traded” with. The group of them was led by Tommy holding the reins of a horse carrying a large bag.
“What--?” (Y/N) started but stopped as Tommy took the bag off the horse and let it fall in front of them.
It was a heavy clang of what sounded like metals and gems. (Y/N) raised an eyebrow at the group and Tommy looked away as Tubbo spoke up.
“We’re sorry. We didn’t…we didn’t realize how much we had been taking. So, Tommy came and got us and we at least wanted to make it even and apologize.”
“Yeah, sorry man, I didn’t mean to go into debt with you.” Sapnap apologized.
They all gave their various apologies, and (Y/N) stood there silently before smiling lightly.
“Well, it better not happen again. Only proper trades for now.”
Everyone gave agreements before going to leave.
“Hey Tommy.” (Y/N) called and the younger boy stopped. “Did you use those diamonds to get this?”
He hesitated before nodding. Going into the bag, (Y/N) saw several different resources all smelted and ready for use, from iron to netherite. (Y/N) took out a few diamonds and held them out to Tommy.
“Here’s to repaying favors.” They said as Tommy looked at them surprised.
The boy hesitated once more before taking the resources. “Thanks…See ya.”
Maybe they did have friends after all…
Three Minutes to Eternity: My ESC 250 (#220-211)
#220: Yiannis Dimitras -- Feggari Kalokerino (Greece 1981)
"Κοίτα τον έρημο γυαλό Σου ψιθυρίζω σ’ αγαπώ Τώρα θα χτίσω εκκλησιά Για της αγάπης τα τρελά παιδιά" "Look at the desolate seashore I whisper you “I love you” Now I’ll build a church For the crazy children of love" The opening shot, the rose on the piano, set the stage for such a romantic journey under the summer moon. And the soundscape created through the piano and instrumental throw us into this endearing scene, one which is also tinged with melancholy. Feggari Kalokerino is not only an ode to this beauty, but also an admission of craziness for falling in love. With such pretty lyrics, one can't help but get enveloped in this pretty world, where everything is so beautiful. The combination of Yiannis' singing and the woman's piano playing is also quite cute, albeit with some...interesting undertones to it. Either way, it's classical yet timeless.
Personal ranking: 3rd/20 Actual ranking: 8th/20 in Dublin
#219: Liliane Saint-Pierre -- Soldiers of Love (Belgium 1987)
“Neem elkaars handen Smeed nou die banden toe Hoor je die verre kreet? Geen mens vraagt dat leed” “Take each other’s hands Come on, weld those bonds Do you hear that distant scream? Nobody asks for that suffering” Top ten opening themes of anime, haha. It also helps that "Soldiers of Love" is the English translation for the song "Ai no Senshi" from Sailor Moon (which I've listened to many times but haven't gotten that far into the anime...). That said, Soldiers of Love packs a punch with the instrumentation and the high intensity of the melody. The lyrics are a powerful battle cry, albeit one which advocates for peace amongst people. There’s so much energy and determination in Belgium’s host entry, one would prepare themselves for battle for a good cause. Liliane really delivers this earnestly and with determination, though sometimes the military-style get-up stands out to me the most when I watch it again. Though those two guitarists turning their ends as if they were firing guns is a cool thing to behold.
It's one of the host entries that is better than the song which one it for the country, which is something because J'aime la vie is considered a fan favorite.
Personal ranking: 6th/22 Actual ranking: 11th/22 in Brussels
#218: Beth -- Dime (Spain 2003)
"Cuántas veces te llamé en la noche Cuántas veces te busqué Por mis recuerdos yo vuelvo Y no pierdo la fe" "How many times did I call you in the night? How many times did I look for you? I return for my memories And I don’t lose faith" For some reason, Dime reminds me of "Die for You" from two years earlier--both feature modern pop bops with ethnic influences, both imploring about the state of a relationship (while they both want to make it wor. And they're both in the same key! At the same time, Dime holds its own as one of the strongest 2000s entries from Spain. They had similar flamenco/Latin inspired entries in 2001 and 2004, which were highlights in rather mediocre years because of their uniqueness overall. But the guitar flourishes here work well with the dance beat, and it provides its own fun.
Personal ranking: 3rd/26 Actual ranking: 8th/26 in Riga
#217: Svala -- Paper (Iceland 2017)
“Drawing every bit of my truth Colour me in with your blue” I didn’t actually pay attention to this song in the follow-up to the 2017 contest. I also didn’t watch the semi-finals, which could’ve led to me neglecting the song entirely otherwise, especially I've heard a lot about Blackbird during that time. However, the summer after the contest, I discovered the song and listened to it. And I liked it! (And then I got hooked with Svala's other songs through her different groups) I was interested particularly in the lyrics, which discussed a fight between one’s mental demons and anxiety. I like the English version more than the Icelandic one; the latter is a bit more optimistic on winning against the battle whereas the former really takes the issue seriously. The production, while a bit staid, added to the feeling of helplessness with its electronic coldness. The staging also tries to incorporate this, though it didn't work in making it stand out. (I did like Svala's cape and makeup, though!) While I do love "Hear them Calling" a lot, I had a more interesting journey with Paper--it grew until it became something I highly enjoyed. Personal ranking: 6th/42 Actual ranking: DNQ -- 15th in the first semi-final in Kyiv
#216: Live Report -- Why Do I Always Get it Wrong? (United Kingdom 1989)
“You can do what you want to do now...” Honestly, this has to be one of my favorite British entries ever. While "Go" from the previous year gets a lot of acclaim because of its songwriting and Scott's performance (along with how it ended up second in the end), "Why Do I Always Get it Wrong?" is better on how it envelops a mood and could actually be found from this era (though it sadly didn't do too well commercially afterwards, sigh)
Whenever I do something wrong, or self-hate, this is the song I turn to a lot. The synthesizers drew me in—it fit well with the late 1980s-early 1990s sound elsewhere. It's also helped that Celine performed "Where Does My Heart Beat Now" earlier in the contest, which piqued my interest. And while Ray’s ponytail was a choice, it didn’t distract from how he delivered the song.
Despite getting more 12-points, it ended up losing to Yugoslavia by just six points that year. While not my favorite that year, I think it was the better one of the top three; it equally reflects the times and holds up!
Personal and actual ranking: 2nd/22 in Lausanne
#215: Tommy Nilsson -- En Dag (Sweden 1989)
“En dag vi alla förstår, En dag, när stillheten rår, En dag jag finner din hand, När vägarna möts förstår vi varann,” “One day, we all understand, One day, when silence rules One day, I find your hand When our roads meet, we will understand each other” My two favorites from 1989 are sonically different, diverging between despair and hope. I listen to "Why Do I Always Get it Wrong" a bit more, but "En Dag' would stand out for me in a few different ways, more from being just the optimistic song of the two.
The intro features really good brass, which leads way to the fun instrumental. I like how it builds, and Tommy’s interplay with the backing vocalists is incredibly strong. You get a sense of energy from the both of them as they send the song to new heights.
Basically, it's just glorious!
Personal ranking: 1st/22 Actual ranking: 4th/22 in Lausanne
Final Impressions of 1989: It's a pretty fine year, both in songs in production. There are a number of good songs there, though not many classics which hold out in the long-term (except for Vi maler byen rød, which became famous in Denmark and even became the premise of a musical!). Highlights include an overactive conductor from Turkey, two children, and an awesome interval act involving a crossbow!
#214: Bang -- Stop (Greece 1987)
“Ότι κάνεις για δόξα και λεφτά Δες τι χάνεις, αλλού είναι η χαρά”
“Whatever you do is for fame and money See what you are missing, joy is somewhere else”
I’ve heard this song compared to Wham’s output, especially with its vintage rock-n-roll sound (wake me up before you go go). This doesn’t make it any less bad, with its charming tone and thoughtful lyrics about how a girl who only wants material goods should stop chasing them.
(This is another reason why sometimes, the original-language version is better that any other one--the English version to this song has goes on a completely different tangent)
The performance also falls into vintage aesthetics, with the suits for both Thanos and Vassilis and sock-hop style dresses for the backing vocalists. It's really cute, and the way they dance fits the scene.
On another note, apparently Greeks saw this as a favorite at the time, can someone verify that?
Personal ranking: 5th/22 Actual ranking: 10th/22 in Brussels
#213: Guy Bonnet -- Marie-Blanche (France 1970)
“Nous sommes là dans une douce quiétude Nous avons mis fin à notre solitude Nos corps apprennent de tendres habitudes Et Marie-Blanche est à moi”
“We’re there in a soft stillness We’ve put an end to our loneliness Our bodies learn tender habits And Marie-Blanche is mine”
By 1970, chanson was on its way out; in its place was folk, rock-n-roll (spearheaded in France by Johnny Halladay, who has a great French version of "House of the Rising Sun"), and psychadelia. Within France itself, some of the #1 singles from that year include Comme j'ai toujours envie d'aimer, Let It Be, and Bridge over Troubled Water (a total masterpiece, I tell you).
So, what does one make of Marie-Blanche, in this case?
It's a really sweet love poem, in which Guy declares his love for the girl. and conveys a particularly cute scene. Whenever I listen to this, I envision two lovers cuddling inside while watching the snow fall during the winter. There's a sense of magic and serenity in all this, and the lyrics match the pretty piano melody.
Basically, hits are important to keep the contest alive. But songs like Marie Blanche can pull on the feels in the right ways.
Personal ranking: 2nd/12 Actual ranking: =4th/12 in Amsterdam
#212: Justyna -- Sama (Poland 1995)
“I czuła się tak marnie Poczuła się tak marnie Jakby Bóg, dobry Bóg Nie lubił pcheł..”
“And I feel poor Feeling so poor As if God, the good God Didn’t love little fleas...”
If 1994’s To nie ja represented something classic and hopeful, 1995’s Sama takes it and reverses it. (And in the grand Eurovision timeline, they're only separated by the last song of 1994, Je suis un vrai garcon from France) Instead of a young woman filled with life and singing a decent ballad, we have another one pondering herself, all alone, with nobody to help her.
Also, this is more of an acquired taste with its out-of-tune recordings and Justyna’s scream. But it doesn’t feel out of place within the 1990s, with its alternative influences and production, and I like Sama a lot for that!
Unfortunately, it also caused it to do substantially worse, which is simultaneously explainable and baffling. A good result would've made waves for future Eurovision entries; the 1990s are my favorite decade, but they did misalign quite a bit from the mainstream.
Personal ranking: 7th/23 Actual ranking: 18th/23 in Dublin
#211: The Shadows -- Let Me Be the One (United Kingdom 1975)
"You and I could have an affair/make sweet music, go anywhere"
Isn't this lyric really charming? I couldn't help but have a little giggle because of it; there's a sense of naughtiness (especially with choosing "affair"; are they trying to something illicit?) underneath it.
That said, The Shadows are mainly known for their instrumental rock, but Let Me Be the One has a neat melody line. The rock-n-roll vibe, which could be released within that decade, is light but lovely, and added a jolt of uniqueness to the otherwise poppy contest up to that point. The flubbed line in the beginning ("let me be the one who literally holds you tight", haha) adds to the whole thing, but they were able to carry on, nevertheless.
And while I like all the 1970s winners to some extent, I would switch out "Ding-a-Dong" for Let Me Be the One in terms of winners vs. runners-up; like with Sama, it could've changed the contest in a positive way.
Personal ranking: =3rd/19 Actual ranking: 2nd/19 in Stockholm
Tumblr media
Sometimes, even when you actually find someone to be cool with, some fam of your own, the feeling of loneliness and fear comes back to you when they are not around. Sometimes you know it's coming because you feel it getting stronger in your heart. Sometimes it takes you by a surprise.
That's the danger of this feeling - you can stay in the middle of a high school party with a cup of booze in your left hand and with a lit-up cigarette in the second one and even though you should feel the life around you, you start to feel numb to all of it. You feel to be all alone. In the middle of that big and scary world.
It feels like the time is stopping right in front of your eyes as everybody's movements become slower and slower in your own head. The smoke coming out of a mouth of some black-haired chick appears too detailed, a boy who just inhaled a gram of cocaine is in the world of bliss as you can see in face and the group which was playing beer pong has the flying ball levitating in the middle of the table as they wait for it to fall down. That your perception of the world at those moments.
You are smoking and you're slightly drunk. You should feel happy, in one place and yet it doesn't come together at all.
The loneliness hits you from the darkness every single time. The feeling of being all alone in the middle of everything is unbearable, you're completely confused because you can't seem to find your own place in the crowd. Many of us felt it at some point. That you're an alien between all of those kids.
Especially when she has done it again. Left you to have your fun and left off to have some weed with her newfound friends. Fran was irresponsible at times. You were still underage as most of the kids out there - if the police would have found out, you were fucked. Like seriously fucked.
You made your way to the kitchen, finished your cigarette and poured four shots of vodka in a row to drink them all by yourself. And you knew that you'll have more. Who would pick up on that? There were probably a hundred bottles of spirits. One won't be missed. These kids were rich as hell. They could buy all the vodka in the world.
You stood there, holding the counter, feeling the taste of cigarette in your mouth, trying to get over the burning of the vodka in your throat, making it's way to your stomach. Then you sighed and poured another four for you. And drank them in an instance.
The courage slowly filled your veins and your head as the world around started to spin slowly, everyone being a ghost of themselves. They were empty shelves of themselves, only you felt real.
"What the fuck ya think ya doin', dawg?" - You heard Rue's angry voice as she held some guy's hoodie I'm her palms. They were filming you. Great. Jules' hands slipped onto your neck, holding you in one place.
"Have ya seen that chick pouring that booze down, Rue? Calm down." - The boy laughed, but Rue shook him with all of her strength.
"If ya don't delete that shit now, we will see how good you'll be at pouring vodka down yo ass. Whaddaya say?" - She huffed angrily. All of a sudden a Latino girl with black hair appeared. You knew it was Maddy. Your so-called friend.
"What's your problem, Rue?" - She screamed and looked at both of them, tearing them apart.
"This little shit was filmin' my fuckin' friend. Tell him to call his shit off." - Rue went against him, almost punching him straight to the face. Maddy took a good at you and then she looked on the boy.
"Listen up you bitches. If anyone will try to harm this new girl, I and Nate will make your life a living hell. So let her be shitheads and mind your own fucking business." - She yelled over the music. Maddy took your side, she was defending you and your girls for some reason. Maybe it was a true truce. She shooshed them off and then approached you and Jules with Rue by her side. Rue almost lost her shit for you.
You slowly realized that you are friends for real. This wasn't a silly pretending game. Rue would beat the shit our him because of you.
"Sorry about that. The boys can be dicks here. Enjoying your night?" - Maddy smiled and smoothed your shoulder tenderly. To your intoxicated brain, it appeared that she truly cares for you and for your well being. You nodded, giving her a small smile. - "Gonna find Nate. If you need anything, just find me or text me." - Maddy said confidently, letting her black hair drop over her shoulder in long, beautiful black waves. You watched her as she left all of you and disappeared between the clouds of young drunk people.
"Well, that was unexpected." - Rue whispered and supported you while you walked. Her long face was all around her think face with seriously sharp contours, her eyes were surrounded by glitter and blue eyeshadow. You knew Jules was responsible for Rue's look because you knew that only Jules has that blue on her palette. She had a tight blue bra with long laces under her breasts and high-waisted blue denim shorts accompanied by a long old hoodie and her Converse shoes. - "Sometimes I wonder how she pulls that off, but that was fuckin' awesome." - She said to you and you felt as a cold breeze hit your face when she somehow got both of you through a big door.
You didn't know how Jules is looking that night - you couldn't seem to bring her focus on her. You only saw bright pink shorts or skirt. But she held your hand all the way to some sofa outside around a big fireplace.
"Gonna get some coffee for her. Eight shots? That's fuckin' wild you bad bitch. Look after her, you two." - Rue helped you to sit down. At that point, you finally realized that there's not only Jules when she next to you and brought your head to her shoulder. A man in a rainbow-striped sweater and jeans sat there and smoked - you quickly realized that he has some kush because it smelled all the way to you.
It seemed that his face is blurry for you, but you knew that sweater. You saw him wearing it once or twice. The man from the small shop which looked like a gas station. The one who sold you a cherry soda on a debt. That was him.
"Not lookin' like cherry soda anymore, girl." - A tired male voice laughed and it felt like it was taking all over your body, sending vibrations to all the right places all over you. He was chilled out of his mind, his mind exploring every last piece of Nirvana and space. - "More like booze, make ya feel good, girl?"
“Didn't know you planned to be here, Fez.” - Jules said and smoothed your hair as she watched Fez on the sofa. Fez just nodded a little but didn't answered, because it looked like he started to drift off to the distance.
“Hey man, have not seen you for eternity. Dat's ma girl Y/N. This is Fez.” - Rue walked to you with a big cup of coffee and smoothed your hair gently. She introduced you to Fez, a man or a boy, who were you seeing when you rode through the town a hundred times. The boy whom you liked pretty much. But even though you talked for the second or third time, you liked him a lot. His presence was calming down because he was an overly calm person.
“Nice to meet ya, newbie.” - Fez laughed it all off and looked at you, as you drank your coffee.
The word around you stopped once again as you watched Fezco with a curious look on your face. You felt as the hot coffee made by Rue slipped through your lips, but you were mesmerized by Fezco. In those red-blue-violet lights, he looked like a handsome young man, the smoke was setting off his lips slowly. The sweater made him look incredibly young, he was even smiling a bit, being all chilled out of his fucking head.
It was like seeing a treasure for the first time, beginning to explore some strange land or being mesmerized by a siren. All of those things mixed up together in one perfect essence that created Fez altogether.
“You alrite?” - Rue giggled when you stared in Fezco's for almost a full minute. You just smiled at her sloppily, drunkenly and kissed her forehead slowly. The loneliness was gone thanks to them, to the two people in this town who cared about you with love.
“I love you so much, guys.” - The weight of your body leaned to Jules's body and you closed your eyes lazily and happily as Rue put her head on your knees, smiling as well. Thanks to them you were slowly taking steps with un-missing your old hometown.
You took a deep breath and Rue looked up to you with her typical smile. Your Rue-Rue was back to tell ya all about that Morgan Freeman bullshit.
But as much as you loved your girls, as much your drunken ass was thirsting for Fezco. You might have been into Fez normally, but now you were fucking out of your mind, everything felt so easy. You gave the rest of the coffee to Rue-Rue and went in front of Fez, he was still smoking his blunt or joint, you could never tell.
“Come and dance with me, Fez. Please.” - You begged with a smile full of your teeth and your eyes closed a bit. Fezco giggled, he was high as a kite and took it as a joke, meanwhile, Rue climbed next to Jules, watching the two of you. - “I mean it, Fez. You and me, the dancefloor. Come.”
Rue shot a quick look to Jules and smiled at the both of you. She knew that shell finds out what was behind Fez asking about yo ass. You met, somehow, probably in his shop and he liked you. And per se, it was a two-sided thing.
“Fez, don't be a silly ass. Get up and take her hand. She is one fine girl. I swear.” - Rue put a palm on her heart as a scout who is swearing on America's flag. Fez laughed in a pleasant tone.
“I'm too hig' to have this conversation rite now.” - He said and looked at you as he watched you standing in front of his knees.
“He's a good boy. You'll see. I would take a bullet for him. Come on, boyo. Go for 'er, tiger.” - Rue smiled at Fez and Jules trailed her fingers on Rue's thigh.
“She drunk. Let it be, Rue-Rue. Will not make it worse for her.” - Fez answered and smiled lazily.
And had a point even tho even didn't tried to. He was seriously muted down because of that weed he had smoked that evening. You stood in front of him in a tight tank top that showed most of your boobs, long Adidas sports shorts and watched him with a dead serious face. You were not in a mood to play around games with Fez and you wanted him to touch you, to be with you, maybe to fuck you on the restrooms.
You were ready to become corrupted at that party, at that moment, with Fezco by your side in front of everyone's eyes, drunk or not. You wanted it as bad as anything before. Rue almost OD herself, Jules was fucking weird older guys just to feel like a true girl. What reason you had to stay innocent at that point?
The others have done worse things at an even younger age than you were at. Why should you hold back? You were almost eighteen. You were young. You felt like nobody could stop you, on the top of the world, higher than the clouds could ever reach. Mount Everest ain't got shit on you at the moment. You slowly leaned down, took a hold of the sofa with your palm, looking Fezco under you body up and down.
Fezco held your body with his gaze as well, smoothing your skin with red eyes and dark pupils. The blue color in the wild mix made his gaze completely flat nonetheless. As you were used to, he looked tired and kinda all over the place. But his palms were still lying in his lap, not touching you physically.
He was a man with manners even though his looks and his attitudes, he knew he has to act well around ladies, Fezco was aware of ladies being the more gentle and fragile ones, the ones who needed a strong shoulder to protect them. So he decided not to take advantage of your state. That would be just rude even if he didn't like you.
Yeah. Fezco found your whole appearance cute, you were messy just like his younger sista' from anotha mista' Rue, so that made him protective of you in the first place. You looked so clean to him, you were all innocent, too young to know anything about the underground world he was in and in which he took Rue and Ash down with him. It felt like a new wind in his direction. Fez was used to the corrupted teens of his hometown - but you were shy, new and tried to find your place in the city. That was something Fez wasn't used to. But he wouldn't say it out loud.
"Come on, man. Nothin' wrong ain't happen to ya. Just give her one of two dances. Don't be a fool." - Rue patted shoulder when you slowly climbed on his left thigh, hugging it tightly with your thigs a with your palms roaming all around his neck and shoulders. He was watching you with no intention to stop. He exhaled out loud, closing his eyes and inhaling another shot from his blunt, still being completely chilled under your body, only his left thigh was tensed as hell.
The small place where your bodies melted in one, your crotch being all splayed out all over his thigh, was almost burning. A war was progressing in his mind - his mind was all foggy, covered in the weed mist, was all loosed and ignoring, but his body felt the need to react on your touch. What should he do? Should he stay high, turning your unsaid offer down or just take your hand and dance?
"I don't think that's a good idea, newbie." - He said and exhaled and just at the moment, you leaned down, holding his face in your palms and inhaling the smoke coming out of his lungs. Fran warned you numerous times - shots were far worse than having a joint. But you decided to fuck that. Meanwhile, his eyes concentrated at your almost melted lips, your head bent backward and you exhaled slowly, playing with the smoke with your tongue, cycling it around in your mouth.
What was enough was enough. He maybe was there because of his private business things, but you were a serious number, a hotshot per se. You felt as you stood up bevause he did, your lips still almost locked. You were bat-shit crazy; you knew his name since that very evening and yet you almost climbed him like a mountain.
"Have you changed your mind?" - The warm, almost plushy feeling like warm skin on your lips touched his neck in a fast move, but it was hardly considered as a kiss or so. You just kept him close. That makes the others took notice of you, but nobody said a single word. Whether it was because of Fez or bevause of what Maddy said, it was cool.
"Maybe." - A whisper was delivered right to your ear. You smiled at Rue and Jules who were making out of the sofa, Rue showed you thumbs up and you lead the stoned man into the living room, to the beating heart of the party. Everyone was there, the cringy couples were there, the lonely stoners or fucking drunk people, or the creepy loners. None of them were scaring you off, because you held his fingers in yours with a tight grip.
Ten minutes later, Fezco was fucking sure that you're the sweeter version of the devil just acting all innocent, but having it all in you when you had enough alcohol to drink. You stood in front of him, swaying your lips, moving your head from the side and held his shoulders in your hands, maybe being too harsh with your nails. But he seemed to be into it, so you refused to stop right there.
The time probably slowed down for somebody at the party, seeing your ass bouncing at Fezco's crotch, with a sinful smile on your face, your back arched back and your palms lightly touching him. For them, you would look happy with a sweaty face, rosy cheeks and happy, shining eyes.
Naturally, Fez in your company caught the stare of many. Everyone, probably except you, knew he's dealing on the most of the teen parties because the teen drive for some good trip was fucking huge - but he was never seen doing anything except sitting and smoking weed, sometimes selling a private custom made orders. This was the first time he was seen doing anything else except drinking with the kids.
That made the news spread quickly, but it brought more attention to you, whether you wanted it or not - Maddy was right. The local boys were dicks.
The provocative moves of your ass and hips caught the attention of almost thirty, but your boobs were a killer. And you looked beautiful when you looked back at Fez and smiled when he decided not to leave you alone in it - his eyes gently circled around your hips as he moved with yours. Not in sync - but in the exact opposite direction.
A lot of girls whispered around when you made a spin around, slowly getting down on your knees, riding his right side from his hip down to his feet with your crotch, looking him deep in the eyes, biting your lip and basically dry humping in front of everyone. You looked magical, as your hair fell out of the bun and the red-yellow lights lighted up your moves with a second between appearing again.
It looked like a movie made out of photos.
But nobody took it like if you tried to make yourself cum in front of them - they were used to those dance move from Maddy and Nate who did it all the time on parties or school balls. You were at least somehow dressed - Maddy walked there practically naked on these events daily. But there were other speculations.
What the fuck did you two had together, how did it happen and if you were his girl actually. They didn't ask - they just took you all Lykke Li Late Night Feelings move as an answer.
But you didn't react to any of those looks or words, you just stuck your nails into his leg harder and slowly swayed your hips his direction just you began to stand up. Only if you knew what thing have crossed his mind at that exact moment - but he stopped himself before actually going in with those details because he knew your exact age.
Rue, your best friend of the last three weeks told him about you because he saw the three of you riding a bike together and you truly were cute, especially when you have him a shy smile and those all puppy Y/C eyes. She was curious about how he knew you, but Fez just smiled and didn't answer.
He helped you as you climbed back on your feet, circling your hand around the back of his neck and catching his cheek in your hand as you leaned to kiss him.
And at the moment he knew, he was practically sure that everything will go to shit. You were too drunk to slow down or stop yourself and Fezco didn't want to stop. He could barely image how you tasted, but just as your body hugged his tighter, you closed your eyes and let him tasting every piece of you. Your hips made his move in the rhythm but he felt that you bumped and humped his junk more or less. But he let his palms to travel down your waist to cup your ass tenderly. When you just held him tighter, you felt how the grip on your ass began to be almost unbearably right, holding you in one place.
Any of you knew how long you were there and just made out in the middle of the dance floor, but when you ended, you took his hand out of your ass and walked him to the pool in the back, kicking your speakers on and slowly entered the water still dressed up. Fez stopped you for a minute, so you looked at him with a curious stare. Then, when his flat baby blue eyes still looked unsure, you took off your tank top and threw it in the direction of your sneakers.
You will never have a single idea of how beautiful you were at that moment, when your hair laid on your shoulders, showing him those fuckingly beautiful tits in a brightly red lacy bra and only in Adidas shorts, taking your soaking wet socks down.
"Don't be shy." - You smiled, taking his hoodie off his body, leaving him only in his t-shirt and jeans. You slowly lowered down to your knees, your look heavily indicating that you're imaging his cock down in your throat at that exact moment, but you just took his shoes off. - "Would taking my shorts off help you with deciding?" - You stood up again, but he could easily recognize that you're still drunk as fuck.
"Nah, I'm good." - He went with the stairs by your side, slowly making his body wet. You swam to the middle, taking a swift sweep under the water before ascending back to the surface. You felt as your make-up smudged on your skin and his your had got stuck to your hair, while Fez was still standing next to the steps, watching you as you made few tempos to where he was standing.
"How's the water?" - You whispered, crawling onto his shoulders with your hands, hugging his waist with your legs. Fezco only smiled back, putting his hands to hold your ass again. He liked your ass, you could feel that it's firm, but his fingers could still play with it.
"Fine?" - He answered and smiled a bit when you leaned once again to give him a kiss. This one was passionate, desperate, your teeth sometimes hit each other. You tasted sweet - there was a sign of alcohol, but overall, he could feel only you. He tasted like a weed. But you didn't mind.
He could say that he was totally ok with kissing you in front of everyone. It was nothing too harming for what the others thought of you and he didn't feel like he was getting a benefit of you being drunk.
That was the last thing you could recall that night. Since the last kiss, it was blurry and black-outed in your head.
Bad Things Happen Bingo! The event where you send me requests according to this marvelous card! (Red cross is the completed prompt, dark red crosses are already completed fics and mint lambda-ish signs are prompts I’ve gotten requests for already).
What's that? I've already written a glorified 70K-word Peregrine fic? Psh, you can't have enough Peregrineshipping in your life, stop dat.
You know my friends have my back when they can guess what combination I'll immediately want writing for. Cookie's been a genius there, considering he's picked a very cool prompt + my Arc-V OTP, whose themes and characters just match it perfectly. I'm flabbergasted at how quickly he's come up with it after I shared my card in our Discord server. It's short, it's harsh, it's been a while since I've written like this. The context isn't obvious, not even to me, but I'll say that it's some canon divergence, it's maybe not even the real show's settings. I just wanted to write a scene like this that isn't a dead giveaway for Black-Winged Icarus's events, it's kinda hard.
May be OOC, proceed with caution.
“Don’t you fucking dare pity me!”
 His words are harsh, piercing through her attempt at a monologue like a spear through a papier mâché cast. She’s trying to reason him, but it’s clearly not working, and the way he presses the wounds against his chest don’t reassure her. Not that she isn’t injured either, as she’s taken some hits, but that’s besides the point.
 “Kurosaki, that’s… That’s not what I meant to do!”
“You don’t even know what my people’s gone through! Don’t you dare look at me like I’m some defenceless chick who’s fallen off the nest, I know what I’m doing! We don’t need someone from Fusion to tell us how poor we are when Fusion’s the reason this madness started to begin with!”
 He’s furious, she can sense it from his tone alone, the words are just giving him a reason to be this infuriated. He’s spitting out all of his anger at her, and some blood with it. She doesn’t know what to say: she’s never been a smooth talker. How’s she supposed to have him calm down so they don’t get killed?
 “I see it in your eyes! That stare who’s trying to empathize with something you can’t relate to! Have you been tracked down night and day, wondering if you were gonna see the sun rise again, if there even was a point to all this misery?! Have you contemplated ending it right here and there because there was nothing better to come?!”
“No.”
 Her sudden response interrupts his flow like a barrage in the middle of a tempestuous river.
 “No. I haven’t been through the same experience as you, Kurosaki. Frankly, I wish it on nobody, not even my worse enemy. I’m not pretending like I can anyway, because I’ll never be able to relate. I’ve been luckier than you, this much I’ll admit.”
Serena takes a breath. In truth, she wants to cry; but crying in front of a warrior like Kurosaki is likely to anger him even further, which they really don’t need right now considering he’s bleeding out, they’re both injured and exhausted, and this is where they’re supposed to rest so she can do something about that wound he’s insisted on not feeling.
 “I just want us…” To get along? That sounds cheesy. “Never mind. I just wanted you to know that I’m sorry for representing what you’ve been through. I can’t pretend like I know how hard it is, but I’m certain it is.”
They stare at each other in silence. She swallows her tears, he gulps down some of his anger, breathing finally evening out.
“I know you don’t want to be pitied by someone like me, someone who’s from the enemy’s side.” She looks at his calloused hands, then back at her smooth ones. “I’ve never known war until recently. I’m not a warrior like you are; yet I know warriors hate pity, because I’ve been raised along them, like the orphan I’ve always been. But, even knowing that… I still try to sympathize. I just don’t want to see you like this, in pain from all meanings of the term, wallowing in your misery. This isn’t how you’ll fix anything.”
She has to show herself as strong, so she has to hurt him in some way. She simply didn’t expect the thought of doing that to hurt this badly.
“You’ll have to open yourself to others if you want to save Ruri.”
 She also doesn’t expect him to almost kneel to the ground, eyes almost rolling back in their sockets, until he catches himself on the wall and glides against that instead.
 Serena doesn’t think: she rushes to him, already getting out her first-response materials from her pouch. He doesn’t look as angry as he is pained, so she uses the commotion and his general confusion to both of their advantages, taking this opportunity to check on his wound. It’s less deep that she thought it’d be, making her sigh in relief, as it’s a mere slash that he’s just let fester around. To be fair, they had to run away from soldiers, so it wasn’t like he could have stopped and put some bandages on that cut. Still, neither of them wants to let that get infected – the lessons she’s gotten on that were scary enough for her not to see that happen – so she quickly patches it up as well as she can.
 “Why? Why the hell are you doing this, Serena?” He asks in a much lower tone, as if his voice doesn’t want to rise.
“We’re comrades.”
“You’re… you’re serious?”
“Of course I am. Do I look like I’m kidding? What do you think I’m doing?”
“Fair enough.”
 She tears herself apart again to look at her bandage placement. It’s a fairly pristine white against his bruised and scarred skin, but she tries not to let the embarrassment of having half-stripped a guy she wants to get along with get further inside of her than her ears and cheeks starting to burn spontaneously.
“Here you go”, she says with a small smile of satisfaction. It’s like seeing work well done, even if that’s the least she could do for him.
“…thank you,” he tells her, his tone still quieted down.
“It’s nothing.”
 He’s still upset, she can tell with how his hands twitch, but he seems calmed down enough for her to remain sitting in front of him. Still, when she tries to look into his eyes, he’s the one who looks away until she feels two arms pull her against his chest and she doesn’t know what to say or think about it all. The hell’s happening? What’s taking him all of a sudden
Still, she said they were comrades, so she’s content staying there and trying to complete the weird embrace he’s triggered, even if she has no answer to the questions starting to grow inside her mind like weed quickly appears in humid spaces after the rain.
 Serena then remembers she reminds him of Ruri, and she guesses that’s why he’s hugging her so suddenly, the guy who must feel too lonely to even say it out loud and instead spits in the faces of whomever has a hunch on that theory. That’s, however, only until he says this one thing that gives him away way more than he probably thinks.
“I… guess don’t mind you, Serena,” he whispers under his breath like a confession that he doesn’t want to hear himself say.
Is this him admitting they are, indeed, comrades? She hopes it is, for them, for her, for him.
“I don’t mind you either.”
 She may not be able to pity him for his trauma as a teenage soldier, but she can at least sympathize with his loneliness, the girl who’s always been protected in a tower of ivory.
U make me proud u know dat right. 4 lyle
Lyle wouldnever claim himself as a leader for the charity. The team had since thebeginning announced there was no such thing as a proper leader to boss themaround and steer plans into action or ideas into play. They were given their monthlycut and past that sat down and discussed their separate ideas and wants for thepeople and organizations connected to their funds, of what craved what and howmuch. Lyle, however, was known to be the most vocal of the bunch – havingpushed through thoughts since day one and spent a few hours too many attemptingto piece together gaps in their budget when others saw no options and believedthemselves to be stuck. Something he had now gained more than enough “free time”for since he had quit his job and, by the nudge of his now girlfriendDominique, glued his full-on attention to the charity under her family nameinstead of finding another. ( @satanxwrites / @domxbaudelaire )
There was something quite motivating waking up and knowing he didn’t have a single place to visit nor people he didn’t like to be around for a rather far off future. He’d have to meet up with them one day when Dom pulled for his attention that direction, but not this week and hopefully not the next. Instead, he had shuffled around his usual schedule to add to tasks and events within his line of fire, filled to the brim with new and glowing possibilities now when he wasn’t seated into his otherwise two days of freedom that narrowed his pathway. And it showed.
First thing Lyle had dug himself into was their economy like usual, calculating what they had left to spare but also not worrying about outside expenses as he (for once) didn’t fear the Baudelaires would deny him another two-hundred euro if they fell short. Dom knew what went into these people by now, how little you could do with so much and yet have it be so satisfying in the long run when these said people didn’t demand much for their basic survival. When that was done, he and another volunteer had taken off to the supermarket to fill up their kitchen for the week; making them seated and done for the day. Past that he had chatted up a family whose half a house had been swallowed by a fire, offering some needed cleaning help among the rubble and to make sure what still stood didn’t damage itself further. They had a few store rooms to spare and some people that passed by the charity pitched in to cover the area faster.
Then came a day off, or was supposed to be, but his head had swiftly traveled elsewhere in the loneliness of his apartment and just like that had he found himself meeting up with a pair of teens who hid away from society under their known comfort; giving them the sole task of wrapping sandwiches and prepare the soup for the evening rush. Yet, none of it had managed to hit him as hard as the person he had encountered earlier during the day. A small event, something Lyle wasn’t known to linger upon or even question in the long run, but it had caused him to think – and Dom was no stranger to his knitted eyebrows of confusion and wonder, a glazy stare that exposed him as being in deep thought, and since long gone from the present time of attention.
“We had a person today, she’s new to our establishment”, Lyle began where he lied in bed, his arm wrapped around Dominique who had spent the majority of the last ten minutes replying to emails on her phone. “She announced today was her birthday, she was so shy about it, almost as if she felt ashamed to share. I reckon most don’t like bragging about their birthdays but it sounded so… different. She first didn’t want to celebrate it at all, which is fine – my family isn’t that high on birthdays either – but we decided to group together and Levi went off to buy her a gift.” He shifted upwards on the bed, now demanding Dom’s full attention although he wasn’t necessarily looking her way; rather still stuck in his own train of thoughts. “Her face when she got the gift, it was heartbreaking. She couldn’t hold back the tears at all and wouldn’t stop thanking us and tried to tell us we were doing too much, but that’s such a basic thing – isn’t it? To just buy someone a gift.”
He pursed his lips together, disbelief over his own words. “You sometimes forget just how little they have and how society has stripped them off the most basic of interactions or things we take for granted everyone gets to experience and par-take. She straight out told us she hadn’t celebrated hers for five years just because she didn’t think she was worthy of it any longer. Why? Because people kept judging at her for saving up for, and buying, herself a damn cake.” With a sigh, Lyle sank back into place. “I really think we should get a birthday system of sorts. It might require some tinkering but neither does it require much from us, so… just let them write up their birthdays and other important things they might want to remember and let them be heard for it. I don’t want them to drop human rights and be stripped off of even more human decency just because society likes to act as if they aren’t worth it.”
Lyle finally silenced, satisfied with the point he had wanted to make and he wasn’t expecting Dom to comment back but she soon followed it up with a sturdy nod of her own. Her eyes were soft and warm, tracing away from her phone and along his face with a glimmer at the corner. “You make me proud, you know that, right?” She was no late to hover above and to place a kiss to his lips before he had a chance to respond, Lyle was able to taste the sweet smile that lingered among it and spoke of the truth in her words – causing his body to shiver.
However, the comment itself made him scoff in an amused manner as she pulled away, attempting to wave it aside or approach it in a light-hearted fashion instead. “Thank you, but it’s really something we should have considered ages ago. I’ll bring it up tomorrow, I don’t see why anyone would disagree on it.” Lyle pulled at Dom’s arm to shift her closer to himself, not willing to spare another second of air as he responded to her kiss with one of his own and he happily moved his hand from her body up to her face, grazing the skin on her cheek with an alluring smile to follow. “How about we discuss something a little more upbeat? Or find something upbeat to engage in, we can’t just sit here and both dive into work.” There was nothing more than could be done today anyway and it would do him no good to dwell further.
The Two Of Us || Min Yoongi
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Word Count: 2.3k
Genre: Angst
Happiness was something you couldn't afford. It was something that only the lucky got and somehow you turned out to be just another unlucky fool. Happiness was overrated anyways. All it meant was that you got to live your life without trial and error, without pain, without hurt, and god you wanted that so badly. All you wanted was for a chance to be happy, and not feel the ache in your chest that you felt now.
There was the thought, that maybe you never would be happy. Maybe you were destined to live a life of loneliness and pain, and never overcome it despite how hard you tried. Maybe you were never supposed to make it over the mountain and just continue falling down like you had been your entire life.
You thought for a while, that there was finally an end to the pain, and you had found it in a man named Min Yoongi. Everything with him had been perfect. Nights and days were meaningless to both of you as you had each other. Everything you ever needed could be found in one another, and that was how the both of you lived during your relationship.
It was a year and a half into your relationship when you had found out. The doctor had told you the news after you had gone for stomach aches and morning sickness, and you had found out you pregnant. Unlike most girls at your age, you weren't afraid. Your parents had already known and they were there to support you the entire way, and you knew Yoongi would be fine with it because that's who he was.
The sun had already set by the time you had decided to head home. You had spent the afternoon with your parents discussing the pregnancy, them being very supportive and telling you if you ever needed a baby sitter they would be there for you. Yoongi had told you that he was going to the bar with the guys tonight so you hadn't expected him to be home.
When you had pushed the door open to get into the apartment you shared with Yoongi, you were surprised to hear a crash from the bedroom. You didn't know what it was, but the first thought that crossed your mind was a drunk Yoongi, stumbling in the dark and hurting himself. Without a second thought you rushed off to the bedroom, pushing the door open and gasping in surprise.
The first thing you noticed when the door had been pushed in fully, was the girl underneath your boyfriend, laying on her back, her legs wrapped around his middle. Your eyes were locked on the way they were holding each other and you felt your heart drop. Everything inside you seemed to hit a roadblock and tears rushed too your eyes.
"Y/N." Yoongi said in surprise, pulling away from the girl immediately. He looked at you with wide eyes, taking in your appearance and the tears that were slowly starting to roll down your cheeks. You wiped them away quickly and nodded to Yoongi in greeting.
"Yoongi." Your tone was formal, something strangers would use among one another and Yoongi looked hurt at that. "I should get going then."
You turned on your heel, heading out of the room and walking into the living room getting ready to leave. You grabbed your coat off the back of the chair where you had thrown it as you heard footsteps following closely behind you. The feeling of his hand locking around your wrist made you stop. You turned on your heel to look at Yoongi, your eyes locking with his.
"Please don't go, I'm sorry Y/N." Yoongi started. You shook your head, not wanting to hear the words that were about to come spilling out of his mouth. You couldn't deal with it right now, especially not after what had happened that day.
The moment you had found out about being pregnant, you were excited. Every little thing inside of you came to life, and the moment you saw Yoongi with another girl, you could feel your heart shatter into pieces. It seemed like everything you were happy about, came crashing down on you and began drowning you under it's waves.
"I can't do this, Yoongi." You said, pulling your wrist out of his hands. You didn't want to feel his skin on yours, knowing it had just been against some stranger minutes ago. The image still flashed clearly in your mind and you had to hold back the screams that were dying to let loose. "I'm leaving, I'll be back tomorrow to get my stuff."
"You can't just leave me like this. It was a mistake okay, I'll get rid of her, I won't do it again."
"But you could. And that's what scares me Yoongi, I'm not going to let this affect them. I'm not letting your future mistakes hurt them." Your hand went protectively to your stomach as you held it and spoke. You weren't going to stay with Yoongi and have this child only for something like this to happen again. It would just be better if your child didn't have to deal with it, if they didn't have to deal with the pain later.
"What do you mean them?" Yoongi asked. His eyes flickered to where your hand was sat on your stomach and he seemed to process it even in his drunken state. Somehow he still understood what you had been insinuating and you heard the sob that let loose. It shocked you as you saw the tears start falling down his face. It wasn't what you expected, but then again you hadn't expected any of this.
This was truly the sight of a man loosing everything he loved, and everything he would come to love. You didn't let it get to you at the time, just leaving without another word and exiting the apartment as quickly as possible. When you had returned the next day to get your things, Yoongi wasn't there and you were grateful, because it meant you wouldn't have to see him before saying goodbye forever.
It had been two year and a half years since then. You had turned 21, and your son was two years old. Your parents had done as promised, after learning about what happened with you and Yoongi. They were more than helpful in the last two years, helping you through the pregnancy and babysitting your child when you had to go to work.
It was getting late into your shift when your boss came up to you and told you that you had a phone call. You were shocked, as the only people who knew where you worked were your parents and you hoped to all heaven's that nothing was going wrong. You walked into the main office and took the phone, pressing the receiver against your ear.
"Hello." You said quietly, not knowing what to expect from the other person on the line.
"Hi Y/N." You were relieved as you heard your mothers calm voice, letting you know that nothing was wrong. "Your father and I got a phone call from one of his friends about a dinner we had totally forgotten about. I know this is so sudden, but we won't be able to bring Haku with us, so we were hoping you could come and get him or we could drop him off."
You felt a little bit anxious about the idea of getting off work early or having Haku come and stay with you until the end. You worked at a small little diner, and there wasn't much for him to do here.
"You can bring him here." You answered. Having Haku with you was easier than getting off work early, and there had been instances where your boss let you have him before. It wasn't a big deal, as he understood what was happening in your life, and it made you feel better about having him there. Your parents bid you goodbye and you let your boss know about what was going on.
It was a half hour later when your parents had arrived. They dropped Haku off and you let him run to the bar stools where he tended to sit while he waited for you. The small little two year old was usually comfortable with sitting on the stools where you could see him because he could play with the napkins and draw on him with the crayons your co-workers supplied.
"We're very sorry about this Y/N." Your mother apologized.
"It's okay, it's not like it happens all the time. Tell dad I say hello." You waved goodbye to your mom and turned on your heel to return back to work. Your eyes looked towards the stools where Haku should have been sitting but you couldn't find him. Your heart started to beat a little faster and your eyes quickly scanned the diner. Your eyes quickly locked on him where he was standing and talking with a couple of customers.
"Haku, you can't disappear from mommy like that." You said, walking towards your son and picking him up into your arms. You turned towards the customers to apologize before you locked eyes with the guy sitting on the left. The familiar blonde hair and the same grumpy look you had grown used to was staring right back at you, but it soon melted away as he recognized who you were.
"Y/N." The words left Yoongi's lips and you felt your feet freeze underneath you. You wanted to move, but no matter how many times you told yourself, it wouldn't work. The boy beside Yoongi looked at you and you recognized Hoseok within seconds. You had been friends with him before you had left Yoongi, not saying a word to any of them when you left. It was as if you had just disappeared off the face of the planet.
"I thought Yoongi had been lying when he said you were pregnant, but I guess not." Hoseok said, trying to make conversation with you. You didn't know why you couldn't move, or why your feet hadn't responded yet. Yoongi stood up from his chair and looked at you.
"Can I talk to you?" He asked. There was something about the tone of voice he was using that made you give in. There wasn't a single part of you that wanted this to continue, but you couldn't handle it. The look, on top of the tone was just too much for you. It reminded you of all the times before.
"Who dat?" The words left Haku's lips as he looked between Yoongi and yourself. You weren't sure how you were going to break the news to your son, but it was better to say it now then never.
"That's your daddy, Haku." You watched the smile come over your son's face and tears sprung to your eyes as he reached out for Yoongi. You couldn't deny him something that he had never had before and Yoongi quickly took the child into his arms. He held Haku, a bright smile coming over his face and it made your heart hurt. This is what you had been denying the both of them up until this time, and it was because you were too hurt by what he had done.
"Do you want to go say hi to Uncle Hobi?" Yoongi asked. Your son smiled even wider at the implications of more family and he nodded his head. Yoongi let Hoseok take your child from his hands and as much as you wanted to deny it, you were glad it was Hoseok and not a random friend of Yoongi's. You knew you could trust Hoseok, more than you could trust Yoongi.
He gestured over to the corner of the diner where nobody would see the two of you and you walked quietly, not wanting to attract a lot of attention to yourself. Yoongi was quiet for a few seconds, and you let him have the moment to think. You had to think over this yourself, how you had just managed to bump into him at work like this.
"I'm just going to say it Y/N, I miss you. I know I screwed up and these last two years have been hell for me. The only thing I could ever think about was how I lost you because I had been stupid." Yoongi spoke quietly, trying to hold back the emotions you knew you were fighting off yourself. "I want to try and make this work. I want to be with the both of you."
You shook your head immediately. There was no way you were just going to accept Yoongi like that. Not a chance in hell. But you knew after this Haku would ask about Yoongi more and more if you went back to the life you had before. There would be no escaping it now, so you knew you had to come up with some sort of in between.
"It wouldn't be fair to Haku, not to see you. So I'll make you a deal, and you either take it or you don't. You can watch Haku, while I'm at work and then I'll pick him up afterwards. That'll be it, nothing more than that. You can be the father I hope you want to be, but there is going to be nothing between the two of us." You answered, biting your bottom lip as the last words left your lips.
Yoongi stared at you for a few seconds before looking back to your son who was laughing and giggling with Hoseok. The two of them seemed to be having a grand time compared to the one Yoongi and you were trudging through. He took a deep breath before nodding and agreeing to the rules you had set out for him.
This was the most interaction you would allow between the two of them, until you knew that Yoongi was trustworthy again. There would be nothing between the two of you, because you couldn't deal with that. You couldn't deal with the happiness you had now, being ruined by him again. You weren't going to allow that, and he would just have to deal with it.
Tyler, The Creator - Flower Boy Review
Tumblr media
On the track “Where This Flower Blooms” by my soul animal, Tyler, the Creator says, “Tell these Black kids they can be who they are”, and this has always been the reason I have loved this man. Before I found Tyler’s (and Gambino’s) music, I was lost and eagerly trying to find an identity. At the time, a lot of (ignorant) people from different races would tell me I acted “White” because I didn’t act the way they thought a “Black” person should act. Not to mention I wasn’t naturally athletic and was really into Sonic The Hedgehog and anime which didn’t help me at all (I’m still am into those things too).  That year, I felt alienated and lost. For a small period, I acted the way everyone thought I should, but it didn’t feel right. I knew acting tough talking with slang wasn’t me, but this got me everything I always wanted: being popular, girls liking me, etc, that all ended when I heard Gambino’s Camp and Tyler’s Goblin. Finally hearing black people sharing the same struggle as I did was not only refreshing, but encouraging and finally realized I don’t need to be a follower anymore. Those two really shaped me to be the person I am today and Lord knows where I would be without them.
ANYWAYS, as a fan, I have loved every Tyler, The Creator album (Goblin has not aged well with me though). I understand that many thought Cherry Bomb was his weakest album, but to me, the album is my favorite. Every song on the album inspires me to continue my ambitions and one day acquire my own empire like T has. I also just love the beats on that album too. Yes, the mixing is weird on some songs, and the title track is awful, but I felt like Tyler was talking straight to me. Plus, we got the best verses from Kanye and Lil Wayne in a while on Cherry Bomb, so your views are invalid. Even though I love Cherry Bomb, I was still thirsting for a new T album. I am here to announce that this album is great.
First of all, Tyler’s rapping on this entire album is INCREDIBLE. There is damn near a quotable on each verse on these tracks. To me, Tyler’s bread and butter as a rapper was never his rapping and flow, but that is the exact thing that draws me to this album. I love the ongoing metaphors on “Foreward”, the Braggadocio in “Who Dat Boy”, and the introspection on “Pothole”, “Garden Shed”, “Mr. Lonely” and “November”. My favorite bars on this album are housed on “I Ain’t Got Time”. Just a taste of Tyler’s wordplay is when he says, “walk weird because my pockets look like thick Yoda/with a Skywalker, ridin’ round solar/Anakin skin Sprite, my tint Cola” I have never heard Tyler spit bars like that on any of his albums and it is a breath of fresh air honestly. Tyler has always great at tackling a topic, but having an expanded sense of wordplay and flow makes the songs that much better. Besides the bars, Tyler is flowing in a way I have never heard him. I got a taste of this on “What the Fuck Right Now” and “Telephone Calls”, but I just thought beat on those tracks brought it out of him, but on “Who Dat Boy” you can tell A$AP Rocky and Tyler were just going at it.
Speaking of A$AP Rocky, Tyler’s collaborators all throughout this album are stellar. England’s own Rex Orange County is a standout on the album with his choruses “Foreward” & “Boredom” (Checkout his own song “Untitled” if you want to be in your feelings), Kali Uchis brings an angelic presence to my favorite song “See You Again”, Steve Lacy and Frank Ocean bring charm to “911” and even Jaden Smith contributes a no-BS hook on Potholes. Now, can we PLEASE talk about Lil Wayne on “Droppin Seeds”. Not only did Wayne kill his verse, but the man stayed on topic for an entire song! If Wayne and Birdman ever end their legal dispute, Wayne should enlist Mannie Fresh and Tyler for the entire album.
Even though the features are prevalent throughout the album, the focus on this album is Tyler’s vulnerability. On Tyler’s promo run for Cherry Bomb, he often said this was the album that sheds the characters and stories that were on Bastard, Goblin and Wolf, but now listening to Flower Boy you can tell T was hiding behind a mask still. On Flower Boy, Tyler tackles topics like loneliness, love, race relations, and his own sexuality with a great maturity. Even though I have pretty much hated every think piece on Tyler, The Creator coming out, “Garden Shed” (his powerful eye-opening track about his sexuality) is a very important track as it does give context as to why Tyler feels as lonely and isolated as he does on this album. On “Mr. Lonely”, Tyler raps about looking for love and never being good with keeping women. He even talks about his possessions are just filling voids for his sadness. in “November”, Tyler asks himself “What if my Day 1s turn to three Four’s because of track 7” and proceeds to question his choices in his life, and wishes to go back to “November” a happier time in his life. Even on Glitter, he talks about how his love-interest makes him feel great, but realizes that it will never workout saying, “we a fat boy/yeah sumo”. The album is an extremely deep listen and it is Tyler as we have never seen him.
Lastly, I feel like the production on this album is stellar. Tyler took what he learned on Cherry Bomb and made it even more layered and beautiful than before. I just love the Guitars and Strings he arranged on this album, especially on “Foreward” and “Boredom”, they just sound so pretty. Tyler even takes on Trap music on “Who Dat Boy” and it sounds great.
My only gripe with this album is how the album ends. I feel like “Where This Flower Blooms” could have gone first, and had “Foreward” the last Track on here. “Enjoy Right Now, Today” is a pretty instrumental, but with an album this serious and hefty, I feel like that is not the best closer.
It’s hard to argue that Flower Boy is not Tyler’s best album. Tyler took what worked on each of his past albums and groomed it out to get this masterpiece. Tyler hit it out the park and I couldn’t be any prouder of him.  Even though I thought this album we would get a Gambino x Tyler track, I am still waiting on it!!!
Flower Boy gets a 9.2/10 Favorite Tracks: Foreward, Somewhere…, See You Again, Who Dat Boy, Garden Shed, Boredom, I Ain’t Got Time, November, Glitter Least Favorite: Enjoy Right Now, Today
1-30
1. describe your idea of a perfect date ⁃ mm i haven't put too much thought into this, but I think it would be really cute to take a girl to the beach in the evening, and then buy her gelato, and theennn after we'd walked a bit we would like lay back on the sand by a fire pit or somethin, and watch the moon and the stars and talk about life and trivial shit2. whats your “type” ⁃ um I always find myself hella attracted to people with short hair, especially if it's dyed some crazy color. Idky but that seems to be more successful at getting my attention. Also if you have freckles,,, or tattoos oml. But I find all kinds of people attractive, and I would never limit myself in that department:)3. do you want kids? ⁃ One or two probably. But I wanna make sure I take care of myself and do all the things I can do in my youth before I commit myself to something like a family.4. if you do, will you adopt or use some other form of child birth? ⁃ Honestly, I love the idea of adoption, so I'd probably do that with one of the kids, but then I also think I'd wanna experience childbirth or have a child with some of my dna in them. So I guess adoption and artificial insemination are what I'm looking at 5. describe the cutest date you’ve ever been on ⁃ mm well I've only been on like three dates ever, but I'd have to say the first one I've ever been on was the cutest. We went to kerbey lane (which is like a cafe that serves pancakes at night; it's fuckin awesome), and we basically opened up to each other about how much we'd stalked each other in the halls for like the past year (she was a senior, I was a sophomore, so we didn't share any classes). We got to know each other a bit, and then we went and got frozen yogurt. I was a nervous, awkward mess throughout the entire thing, but she was really sweet and comforting about it, so I still felt like. Special:). It was nice 6. describe your experience having sex for the first time (were you nervous? or was it easy peasy?) ⁃ Um. I would need experience having sex to describe my first experience having sex 😂 NEXT QUESTIOOOON, BEFORE THE LONELINESS HAS TIME TO SET IN7. are you a morning time gay or night time gay? ⁃ oh definitely a night time gay. That's the best time to stalk my prey, ya know? How tf a bitch gon catch her hoes in the daylight?(see it's funny because I'm forever alone)8. opinion on nap dates? ⁃ you mean like a date where all you do is sleep and cuddle???!!! UMTHAT SOUNDSFUCKIN AWESOMEBitch I need to go on nap dates more often with myself thooWith another person tho? AMAZING9. opinion on brown eyes? ⁃ Gorgeous af. Whenever the light hits them, they turn gold or like a deep red, and sometimes they have a bit of green in them, and idk I think they're beautiful as helll. They also have this really warm, inviting quality to them.10. dog gay or cat gay? ⁃ Doggo gay. Their only desire in the entire world is to make you happy, and honestly I love dogs so much more than people because they have the purest, most beautiful and loving souls on the planet. Although I wouldn't be opposed to cats 🤷‍♀️. I've never owned one before, but I think they're fucking cute, and also me as fuck. Who knows? we could get along.11. would you ever date someone who owned rodents or reptiles? ⁃ Hell yeah. Why not?12. whats a turn off you look for before you start officially dating someone ⁃ If they're not interested in you, your family, how your day went, your wellbeing. . . Basically I want someone to care about me as a person. I don't want to date, or really even be friends with, someone who only likes to talk to me because I'll listen to all their problems and care about them unconditionally, without really showing the same type of (or any) interest in me.13. what is a misconception you had about lgb people before you realized you were one? ⁃ Lmao I've always known I was into girls, but I didn't know what a lesbian was until I was like in 4th or 5th grade. So once I figured that out, I was kinda just like "oh shit dat me", and uhm didn't really have preconceptions of what lgbt people were before I found out I was one. But I heard people talk about it being immoral a lot, and I didn't understand why, so I used to have this really dumb obsession with looking up YouTube videos of religious people debating activists and scientists about the morality of sexuality. And it would make me so upset, because I would always feel so frustrated and hopeless afterwards. I felt like I needed to change just so I could be appreciated and live a normal life. And I felt so alone, because as far as I knew, I was the only lesbian in my vicinity, and I couldn't talk to anyone about it. So those were my feelings about being gay in the beginning 😂 not good14. what is a piece of advice you would give to your younger self-You're gonna try to like guys in sixth grade. Don't, it's a waste of your fuckin time15. (if attracted to more than one gender) do you have different “types” for different genders? ⁃ lmao not applicable ✌️ 16. who is an ex you regret? ⁃ Uhm if you're only counting ex girlfriends, I've had none of those, soooo 😂 But I've had a lot of "things" where I opened up a lot to the other person because I have a severe condition known as U-Haul Lesbo™, and I regret pretty much all of those because I ended up caring a hell of a lot more about them than they did me, and it was really just a waste of my fuckin time. Not to say it wasn't my fault that I got so attached tho; I'm just a hella clingy bitch, and it comes back to bite me. But idk they also helped me grow a bit, so I guess that's good? I don't let people step on me as much?17. night club gay or cafe gay? ⁃ Night club gay all the way, nnts nnts nnts nnts18. who is one person you would “go straight” for ⁃ UHM EW. NO ONE. NEVER. Penii are gross af19. video game gay, book gay, or movie gay? ⁃ video game gaaaaaayyyyyy SO HARD. I used to read a lot of books, but school has kind of ruined that fun hobby for me, plus I can't stay awake whenever I read anymore 😂 my attention span has shrunk to the size of an apple seed thank you v much20. favourite gay ship (canon or not) ⁃ Wayhaught, and I haven't even watched Winonna Earp. That's how much I ship it.21. favourite gay youtuber ⁃ Ari Fitz probably. She fine as hellChanging my answer to question 1 to Ari Fitz 👌 22. have you ever unknowingly asked out a straight person? ⁃ I've never asked out anyone so, nope. I have had a couple straight crushes (sexualities pending, some of them), but gay people are infinitely more attractive imo 😂 23. have you ever been in love? ⁃ I thought maybe a couple of times, but nah24. have you ever been heartbroken? ⁃ Yeah, but who hasn't? 🤷‍♀️ that's just how the ball rolls25. how do you determine if you want to be them or be with someone ⁃ If I find myself wanting to be held by them or eaten out by them or kissed by them or whatever, then logically they'd have to be . . . Not me. So I guess that's how I determine whether i want to be them or be with them. It depends on whether I see them as competition or game. 26. favourite lgb musician/band ⁃ Mm I don't know of many, but Hayley kiyoko 👌 Also Halsey's a gay too, right ? Idk, but I also really like her stuff:)27. what is a piece of advice you have for young / baby gays ⁃ Have patience. You live in a world where fellow gays are relatively few and far between, so it may take a while before you can really put yourself out there. Also your parents most likely will not understand what it means to be gay, nor will they probably treat you like they should in the beginning. Have patience with them, and remind them to treat you in the ways you want to be treated (if it's safe). Eventually, it will be okay when you leave to find your own way in the world and get in touch with your fellow gays, and won't have to suppress your gay any longer :). Or that's what I tell myself lol, I have yet to actually leave the nest 28. are you out? if so how did you come out ⁃ I'm out to my parents, my sister, anyone who asks, anyone who figures it out, and anyone I'm interested in. I don't really "come out" to people, because I don't typically feel like that's something they need to know about me. Unless they're curious. Or cute. Or tryna hit me up and they got a dick. But yeh, I was forcefully removed from the closet when my parents found out I had a girl in middle school 😂. I had this chick in my phone as "*insert name here*
Flower Boy Review
Flower Boy Review:
Quick Thoughts:
Let’s just start with what type of album I think this is. I think it is a mixture of neo soul, funk and trap music.
I do not think there is much trap in this album but I it is worth mention with tracks like “I Ain’t got no time” and “Who Dat Boy” and even there is a little trap on “Foreword”. First note I had about this album is it's a very cohesive album, it is well put together and all the sounds are very similar to a point where I was unsure when the first track ended and then I realized I was already on the third song. Which is also a compliment on the production of this album it's very well done and it's glossy.
Tyler has never really been afraid to talk about what is on his mind. There are definitely some outlining topics in this album from self-love, relationships and loneliness, which is a big theme here. Although, he talks and mentions these topics I think he does it through talking about himself and in a very self-reflecting manner, which makes this an interesting album because I think Tyler is an interesting person.
Before I go into the song reviews I also enjoy the way this album is themed. Tyler like in the past has made his album into a radio show were the radio host has transitioned a couple of songs and made some good appearances. On to Track reviews.
Extended Track review:
Foreword:
I enjoy this track. I think it sets a pretty good tone for this album moving forward. In this song Tyler is questioning a few issue that he has come across lately and questioning a few issues in society to round out the song with this very lonely bridge with lyrics like, “And I ain't seen my friends in a minute, guessing nothing lasts forever.” Plays well into overall theme. Rex Orange County feature was well done, no real complaints from this song.
Where This Flower Blooms:
This track kind of falls flat for me except for Frank Ocean’s feature in which he was gives this song some life. In the first verse, Tyler doesn’t seem very interested in this track not to say that it is a throw away track or anything like that. I do think the message in the track is beautiful especially where he says, “Tell these Black kids they could be who they are, Dye your hair blue, shit, I'll do it too.” Be yourself kids it will make you better in the long run.
Sometimes….
A transitional track this is where he plays the role of the radio host which I already mentioned I enjoyed.
See You Again
Wew, I like this track a lot it starts off pretty slow it kinda takes you on a roller coaster from there and when the track takes off it’s pretty boisterous. Throughout this album also I enjoy Tyler’s different use of the talent he pulls into sing. This is a very soulful song I think, although, there is not much said in this song I just enjoy the vibe it brings. It’s almost a song you would expect from like a Jhene Aiko in a sense. This is a love song a very melodic one at that.
Who Dat Boy
This single/song is amazing from top to bottom. It gets you really hype. WHO DAT BOY WHO HIM IS. The A$AP Rocky feature is perfect as they have shown in the past two have great chemistry it continues here. The bass hits heavy and really gets you into the flexing that Tyler showing and it’s just perfect to get a flex king on this track in Rocky, one of the very Trap heavy tracks from this record. I also think this track is seated just perfectly in the middle of the record it gives you a break from the serious themes Tyler speaks of before this. Track is just fuego!
Pothole
I am not a huge fan of this track I do like the chorus on here though. I think that is Jaden Smith doing the Chorus as well unsure. I do not think there is much to say about this track as I do not find this as a very memorable track and its a very boring one compared to others in the album.
Garden Shed
In the same boat as Pothole for me it doesn’t do much for me. Maybe, when I give this album another listen at a different time it will do more for me. This track is probably worse than pothole for me. It’s probably the least well-constructed track of all of them on the album until Tyler comes in toward the end of the song. It feels like this song was more of a feel it out type of thing. This is one of the few features I actually did not care for on this project.
Boredom
WEW, okay, so this track right here I found it great right away compared to the two tracks before it because it’s very melodic very melancholy and then all of a sudden it gets even better because of the track following after it. This track plays into the overall theme of album, promoting his loneliness in a way were it was like he didn’t go out because it was his choice, noting that it may have been some depression there that is preventing him to doing enjoyable things. With lyrics really embracing that he was tired of the walls he was in like they were a constraint. Again, more great usage of the chorus and singers he has on this record. Lastly, to end this track going into another great radio skit to bring in the next track.
I Ain’t Got Time
I think this track works so well because of the song Boredom another trap influenced song here. I just love the energy Tyler brings on this track. I AINTTTT GOT TIMMMMEEEEEEEEE FOR THESE NIGGGAS. This song also has a hint of Spanish influence in it which Tyler has dipped into in the past. It’s almost as if Boredom is Tyler is in a depressed state then he comes up to himself and pumps himself up and makes himself feel much bigger than what he was at the moment. This song really is on the attack, this song also could be a response in the way of how he feels when he tells other he was going through something and maybe that’s how he felt their responses were coming off either way this was a great song.
9/11 Mr. Lonely
I do not have much to say about this track simply because we all know how great it is already. Continues to play into the theme of loneliness. There are definitely two sides to this track and both are enjoyable. I could definitely see this being a killer song at his concerts. To kind of just chill everyone out and maybe even ramp them up for another song toward the end.
Dropping Seeds
This song definitely feels different from the rest of the tracks it has a very rap heavy vibe to it with Lil Wayne having the only verse here and a good feature at that. It just feels like this track was maybe an interlude to the remaining tracks, it’s also very short as Tyler does a collab outro with Wayne here.
 November, Glitter, Enjoy Right Now, Today
I am lumping these three tracks together in one paragraph because I do not have much to say on these tracks. November and Glitter aren’t really memorable tracks for me. November is a little funkier has a little more pop to it but nothing that stands out in particular. Glitter is pretty flat line for myself, others may enjoy it though. Lastly, Enjoy Right Now, Today is just a looping beat until it gets toward the middle and end of the track which isn’t bad just wondering why Tyler chose this as his con conclusion.
Rating:
Overall Good project from Tyler. I hope he doesn’t go on another longer break before we hear an album from him again (Ha Ha look at me talking like two years is a long time.) Do I think this is better than Cherry Bomb probably not I do think there aver very enjoyable tracks on here some that are lackluster.
Going to give this album a strong 6.5 - 7 BZZZZZ out of 10 BZZZZZZ.
Review - Flower Boy - Tyler, The Creator
    “Scum Fuck Flower Boy” (SFFB) is California based rapper Tyler, The Creator’s fourth studio album. Tyler has grown up surrounded by music, and founded the controversial and mega-popular hip hop collective that was Odd Future Wolf Gang Kill Them All, commonly shortened to Odd Future or OFWGKTA, in 2008. Odd Future included members such as Frank Ocean, Earl Sweatshirt, and Tyler himself, putting out four records together before disbanding in 2015. Despite the group’s falling out, Tyler found success in his solo mix-tapes as well as his fashion line, Golf Wang, which Tyler founded in 2011, which sports a wide array of colorful clothing and skateboards that Tyler designs himself.
Tumblr media
Tyler, The Creator in Golf Wang’s 2017 fall/winter look book
     Tyler is known for his aggressive rap style, and was the focus of huge amounts of controversy for using extremely homophobic, misogynistic, and overtly shocking lines in his past projects, which managed to earn Tyler a ban from entering New Zealand, Australia, and the UK entirely. But these same projects showed a lot of potential in Tyler, as his production and wordplay was promising when he wasn’t going for shock value, and the amount of disturbing lyrics was dropping exponentially between each project.
“Rape a pregnant bitch, tell my friends I had a threesome”
- Tyler, The Creator on “Tron Cat,” from his debut studio album “Goblin”
    SFFB, on the other hand, can come as a bit of a surprise to those more used to Tyler’s bombastic delivery and jarring production. Tyler appears to have fully left his signature shock-value lines in the past, opting for more singing, more simplistic beats, and very few solo tracks. There are only two tracks on the album that feature lyrics solely from Tyler, one of those being “Glitter,” in which Tyler’s voice is pitch shifted to the point of unfamiliarity.
Tumblr media
“Scum Fuck Flower Boy”
    That’s not to say ‘Old Tyler’ has been entirely abandoned on SFFB. Tracks like “Who Dat Boy,” featuring rapper A$AP Rocky, and “I Ain’t Got Time!” the other solo Tyler song on the album, both feature Tyler’s classic deep-voiced, braggadocious lyrics, partnered with eclectic, aggressive beats.
Tumblr media
A$AP Rocky and Tyler, The Creator on the lyric sheet for “Who Dat Boy”
    This duality is very intentional and reflected in the title of the album, “Scum Fuck Flower Boy.” “Scum Fuck” representing his aggressive and grungy tone we’ve heard so much of in his past projects, and “Flower Boy” representing his more colorful and creative side seen heavily on this album, his clothing line, and given peeks of in past albums.
    Tyler’s personality absolutely shines on SFFB, one example being his adoration of cars. Not only is there a car on the album cover, but on the previously mentioned “Who Dat Boy” Tyler ends his final verse by speeding away in a McLaren, and just as the song is ending we can hear the car hitting a pothole and Tyler quietly swearing “Oh! Fuck.” This is immediately followed by the track “Pothole,” featuring Jaden Smith. This example is accompanied by a plethora of car references scattered throughout the entirety of the album.
“Crashed the McLaren, bought me a Tesla
I know you sick of me talkin' 'bout cars
But what the fuck else do you want from me?
That is the only thing keepin' me company”
- Tyler, The Creator on “911 / Mr. Lonely”
       SFFB is also easily Tyler’s most introspective album, as Tyler spends most of the album working through his desires, worries, and sexuality out loud. Tyler’s longings pour from his subconscious into his music on SFFB; whether it’s a crush Tyler’s scared of calling or a simple sense of loneliness, Tyler’s opening up about it on the album. Tyler opens up even further by including several lines and tracks that seem to hint at Tyler’s apparently closeted gay or bi-sexual orientation. Songs like “See You Again” and “I Ain’t Got Time!” hold single lines that suggest this, but the track “Garden Shed” appears to be his full-on confession.
“Garden shed, garden shed, garden shed, garden shed
For the garden
That is where I was hidin'
That was real love I was in”
- Tyler, The Creator on “Garden Shed”
    Tyler’s introspection is the core quality that pushes this album into excellence, giving each song it’s own sense of importance and meaning. Tyler’s mood is heavily visible on each track, as the beautiful, simplistic production gives his lyrics their own room to breathe while still supporting them. The album closes with a simple instrumental track in “Enjoy Right Now, Today,” that ties up the project smoothly, but can be unsatisfying as a concluding track. For all of these reasons, I’d rate Tyler, The Creator’s “Scum Fuck Flower Boy” a 9.5/10, and I’d call it my early album of the year for 2017.
Favorite Tracks: Where This Flower Blooms, Sometimes, See You Again, I Ain’t Got Time, 911 / Mr. Lonely, Droppin’ Seeds, Glitter
Flowerboy by Tyler, the Creator -my review
I said to myself, “Wait, these chords are so fucking astounding.” As I listened throughout the album. Damn, Tyler is really going to fucking do it to them again was the first thing I thought when I heard Foreward. Foreward  introduces the topics of the album from materialism, not wanting to have that materialism, how he’s different and successful, lacks friends and a partner and the topic most talked about throughout this album is his sexuality.
Starting with Garden Shed just to get the “oh my god, he’s gay” out of the way. That seems to be what everyone is focusing on, but they don’t just listen to the way the music expresses the static feeling of having to hide emotions because that’s what Tyler lays down with the lyrics and music. It starts with the slow chords from Austin (kind of like when you find someone cute) , then the drums (want their attention), the synths (wanting to risk it all and go for a kiss), a second guitar (the what ifs) and then Estelle. All this comes so beautifully together, focusing on how to find the words to tell that person who can “smell” what you got to say. Followed by some really distorted strums from the guitar symbolizing the tough feeling of how to tell that person how you feel. Then Tyler comes with the lyrics speaking about the feelings he was hiding, and coming out the garden shed and all this put together just makes my eye shed a tear. Making more of a reference to his alleged “homosexuality” he mentions “kissing white boys since 2004″ in Who Dat Boy.
Who Dat Boy was the first single to pretty much announce that Tyler has been working on music and that we shouldn’t fret. When I listened to this and watched the visuals I felt like he was going to start rapping in a way he “disliked”. I was shaking my head, but I was really left feeling something like “Find Your Wings” from Cherry Bomb but it was cool to see him still tapping into his Wolf alter ego with the deep bass and crazy snares reminding me of his past self with a new friend ASAP Rocky. As much of a decent song it is, it’s one of my least favorite of the album just because I don’t feel as if it fits the entire feeling of the album but it does touch on him being successful and different. But the fact that he says “that cherry be the bomb” makes me think this song was cut off of Cherry Bomb but it’s cool that it was because he got ASAP Rocky on this song who provided that “jiggy” verse. Something that did get me feeling jiggy at the end of the Who Dat Boy visual was 911/ Mr. Lonely.
911/ Mr. Lonely is what I wanted. “This is what I want!!!!”- I yelled to my mom as she heard the music blasting all the way to the living room and me yelling at the top of my lungs when I got a hold of the single. Steve Lacy, Frank Ocean and Anna of the North make this song 200%. I yell this song at the top of my lungs whenever it comes on when listening to this album because it was so catchy, but it brings me down to reality after listening to the angelic  first 9 songs of the album. Making me feel alone, ringing all the bells that reminded me of why I did things as he defined them as loneliness and that essentially marked the turning point of the album as the interlude Droppin Seeds featuring Lil Wayne is a good bridge to November.
November slaps us in the face with the fact that we all face insecurities. The overthinking, the anxiety, the pressure and stress of having to complete what we got to do is what Tyler highlighted in this song and compiled it in such a beautiful manner. Making me feel even more human and making me think of my own November, and once he made me think about it he hit me with that beat switch. Making me want to go back, but I couldn’t. We got to keep moving and we realize that after singing along “I ain’t doin fine, I lost my motherfucking mind, time travel back and help me find” to a gentleman saying “My November is now” as a kind of response to that lost feeling to help us catch ourselves and come back and enjoy today. Ending it with a phone call to explain to someone that they make Tyler feel like “Glitter”.
Glitter is what we all feel when we are infatuated with a wonderful being. Until we have to hope if that’s how they feel, then being hit with a beat change to only realize that it’s not how they feel and you are hit with the image of being fat boys and how y’all ain’t going to work out. Then I remember that maybe that’s why he hopes to See You Again in a last attempt to get you to feel what he has to lay down.
See You Again is perhaps the number one song in my opinion. We get to hear Tyler sing again, and it’s not as rough as it used to be and this song is just magical, makes me feel love through music, the chords and the entire composition with Kali Uchis just gives me the chills every fucking time. Cupid hits us and that person we love comes to our mind because they are not with us but they’re just a vision, and we’re chasing and waiting in angst as we are waiting for them to come around. But we know they have rose tinted cheeks and dirt colored eyes and they’re so sweet they have bumblebees following them around. But they’re just a vision, so he hope’s he’ll see them again as we probably hope the same.
The last five songs that I didn’t mention are titled “Where the Flower Blooms”, “Pothole”, “Boredom”, “I Ain’t Got Time”, and “Enjoy Right Now, Today” and they all kind of tie in together in one section pretty much summing up the whole theme of the album. Growing up being different can be a blessing, as it was cause he rocks, rolls, as he preaches in Pothole about how it wasn’t easy to be as successful. And he blooms and grows spoken about in I Ain’t Got Time and Enjoy Right Now, Today as he doesn’t have time for these Ni**as and Bitches because he’s too successful to worry about them and how he’s grown to not worry about what others say as he used to, which is why he kind of blew up when he dissed Hopsin.. And well Boredom touches on how time flies when we’re having fun so that’s why we should find the time to do something which is essentially why we should “Enjoy Right Now, Today”. The last song of the album is an instrumental with vocals from Pharrell and it’s just such a good instrumental, just as Treehome95 from Wolf was, it kind of makes you want to get up and do something, and it inspired me to get up and type out this review of the whole album.
Personally, this album to me was a 9.5/10 and it’s just so good. I hope Tyler goes #1 and I wish him nothing but success because he’s gotten many of us through depression, heartbreak, confusion of our love life, anger, etc. For those of you that hated Tyler for his lyrics back from 2010 to now, please don’t act like you’re his number one fan. To those that say he’s lost it since 2010 shut the fuck up and grow up. To those that are looking for a new album to listen to that will keep your ear interested, look no further. To those that have listened to him since Bastard and have stuck through with his progression, I love you, hit me up let’s geek together.
