HDM VERSE EDIT : LENORE & HER DAEMON NIKOMEDES

a daemon who took the form of a red fox, characteristically for a sly and adaptable individual who has a silver tongue. More so than others with fox daemons, those with red foxes come across as open and polite, though they are highly keen people who love to probe for answers. They are naturally inquisitive and have an ingrained concern with their self-image, and like to come across as a capable and charismatic person. ( x )

Nikomedes aka Niko has been Lenore's constant companion for the last few centuries after meeting her when she stumbled into Lyra's world. As sly & cunning as she is, more oft than not he is the voice of reason she requires in situations where she might be tempted to be impulsive and where impulsivity is highly ill-advised. Thick as thieves ( which for the greater good, they at times literally are. ) , his only true annoyances are when Lenore teases him by calling him Nicky Nik or similar things. Niko is the only acceptable short form.

" soft brush of fox's tail against her legs, nikomedes' silent warning to keep herself in check as well as to be on guard. it always was a challenge when these things came up, as one could never assume it was about their own secrets. never volunteer information, a valuable lesson more people ought to learn and put into practice.

but this may have no relation to her own secrets, in which case she might get something new to investigate and write about. which nikomedes might despair about it, considering how he complained about his peace or lack thereof so oft. if not, they had to prepare to put their respective silver tongues to good use to talk their way out of it.

in her hdm verse, it is not uncommon at all to see nikomedes draped across lenore's shoulders ( slightly reminiscent of a stole ) , though some people feel uneasy as niko has a rather piercing stare. like he's waiting for you to slip up, make a mistake. lenore finds it highly entertaining.
