STOLEN HEARTS CHAPTER THIRTY-THREE
New Years Eve
December 31, 1990 11:58 PM
I had moved back in with Eddie, although we slept in separate bedrooms. I wanted to take things slow and steady; get to know each other again. Eddie was trying hard at proving to me he has changed. He hasn't even had so much as a beer; he doesn't even keep alcohol in the house. We'll, tonight was an exception. It's New Years Eve, and we have all our friends over including the rest of the band. My dad was over in Europe, but he called to wish us a happy New Year.
We all stood around the tv, watching as the minutes counted down until the ball dropped. We had the tv switched to a news channel where they had the scene of Time Square in New YorK City packed with people and the ball right in the middle. Everyone here has a partner. Jonathan and Nancy, Mike and El, Robin and Vickie, Steve and a girl he literally met a few days ago. Lucas and Max, Dustin's girlfriend Suzie were here, Jonathan invited his friend Argyle, who is dating Susie's sister, Eden. Will had brought someone he had been seeing. He met him right before Christmas. Even Billy had met someone. Some blonde chick he met a couple weeks ago. Then there is me and Eddie.
The timer was getting closer and closer; counting down the seconds now. We all turned to the tv and started to count down the clock once it hit ten seconds.

I looked over at Eddie and smiled up at him. It was about to be a new year. That meant we could really start over and leave everything that has happened behind.

Our New Year's resolution could be to be better for not just ourselves but for each other. To be better together and not let what came between us this year come between us again. We can keep the past in the past and start building a real life together.

“HAPPY NEW YEAR!”
Confetti poppers popped as we all yelled Happy new year when the ball finally dropped. It was officially a new year. New year and new beginnings. I looked around to see everyone was kissing their partners to bring in this new year. I looked back over at Eddie. He was looking down at his shoes, hands set deep in his pockets. This was a new year and that meant the Eddie that had hurt me was left behind in 1990.
I turned fully and stepped in front of him. When he lifted his head to look at me. When he was looking at me I saw the Eddie I fell in love with back in high school. I placed my hands on his cheeks and kissed him. He didn't kiss back at first; it took him a few seconds for his brain to catch up to what was happening. But when it did his hands gripped my waist and pulled me flush against him.
Later, after everyone had gone to bed, Eddie and I ran upstairs to our room. His hands were on my hips, head ducked down, and lips pressed against mine while he moved me backward towards the bed. His lips moved down my jaw to my neck, sucking on the sweet spot behind my ear. My hands were all over the place, not knowing where to stay. They eventually started to lift his shirt. He pulled away just long enough to pull it over his head and help me with mine.
My knees hit the end of the bed and I fell back onto the soft mattress. The next to go were my pants and then my underwear. His lips trailed down my neck to my chest, stopping to give my nipples attention before continuing down my stomach. He bypassed where I wanted him when his calloused fingers spread my legs apart. Instead they attached to my inner thighs, sucking a mark on the inside of my right thigh. The short hairs of his bread felt better on the soft skin between my legs than I could have ever imagined. It was soft yet coarse, sending shivers down my spine, and making me more wet than I already am.
I thread my fingers into his long curly hair trying to guide him where I want him the most. “So impatient,” he said, chuckling but complying. Eddie ran a finger between my wet folds, spreading me apart and taking a long lick. His lips sucked the bundle of nerves in between his teeth, scraping at it just enough to have me begging for more. It's been too long since I had an earth shattering orgasm. Eddie is the only one who will ever be able to satisfy me completely.
His tongue and lips worked wonders, licking and sucking. He added two fingers inside of me, curling and scissoring. They brushed against the spit only he could get to. My pussy spasmed, the muscles clenched around them. A moan bubbled from deep in my gut, escaping from my lips, and filling the air around us. My hand tightened in his hair, pulling him closer. The humming sound he made vibrated against my clit intensifying the feeling. I came around his fingers with his name on my lips, making a mess of me, him, and the bed sheeting underneath us.
“Move up further on the bed, baby.”
Eddie stood up, sucking his fingers clean before working to take his pants off. I laid there with my eyes closed trying to work up the energy to move. “Don't fall asleep on me. I'm not done with you yet. It's been way too long since I've gotten to feel you in so fucking long.” I jumped at the feeling of his hands running up my thighs. I gasped when he pulled me further to the edge of the bed. He bent knees, pushed my legs closer to my chest, and rubbed the tip of his cock through my wet pussy.
“You ready, Sweetheart?” He asked, slowly pushing himself inside of me. The burning from him stretching me felt amazing. “Fuck,” Eddie hissed, bottoming out. “You're always so damn tight. I've missed the feeling of you wrapped around me. Always so fucking perfect.” He pulled out almost all the way only to push back into me in one fluid motion. His pace was slow and gentle to start off until I started begging him. “Harder, please, Eddie harder!”
He licked his pace up, fucking me harder. Eddie moved my legs, spreading them apart so he could lean down and kiss me. “Doing so well, baby. Taking my cock like a good girl.” He pulled one leg over his shoulder pushing him deeper. The head of his cock hitting that sweet spot over and over and over. My nails dug into his skin, his name fell from my lips, and my pussy tightened around him. “That's it. Come for me. Good girl.” My vision blacked around the edges and my head felt dizzy as I came harder than I have in a long time.
“Good fucking girl. Now you're going to take everything I give you.” Eddie fucked into me harder and faster, his thumb drew tight circles on my overly sensitive clit. His thrust got slopper until he pushed himself as far into me as he could and stayed still, emptying himself into me. I'm on birth control luckily but that's also not a hundred percent effective; there's still always a chance. To be honest I don't think I'd be disappointed if it happened. I came again from the intensity of his thumb on my clit. My legs shook, my breath heavy, and my skin sticky with sweat.
My carded my hands through his hair moving it out of his eyes. “I love you,” I whispered. A lazy smile spread across his face and he leaned down to kiss me. “I love you, too, sweetheart.”

“You know Sankadevi, I really wanted to tie this raksha dhaaga on Arnav babua’s wrist. But...”
“Buaji, you know how much Arnavji loves all of you, right? He respects you so much. Isn’t that enough? And anyway, he doesn’t believe in these things, so it wouldn’t be right to force him.”
When he softly says "thank you," he's not just thanking her for his phone - he's thanking her for respecting his beliefs and supporting him in his absence. Such a small moment, but so poignant in showing how accepting they are of each other as partners.
One of my absolute favorite scenes in the entire show. The writers kicked it out of the park with these small but significant details, and it’s because of such interactions that we end up falling in love with their love, time and time again.
#it is just so heartwarming#when I first watched this scene 10 years ago I didn't catch onto this#just thought he was thankful for his phone LOL#the way he says thank you oh so softly#and k's expressions right afterwards#and then they say bye in the cutest way#i melt#ipkknd#iss pyaar ko kya naam doon#barun sobti#sanaya irani#rain's analysis

Hell is For Children
Requested: Yes|No
Pairing: Aaron Hotchner/Spencer Reid
A/N: Special thanks to @oliverbrnch for editing this chapter and making it into what is is !!! I hope you all enjoy my first CM fanfiction !!!
Summary: After 13 years of trying to forget the man he was supposed to call his father, Spencer finds his phone riddled with messages from his father trying to catch up on "old times". He's met with criticism and shame when he reveals he has no want to talk to him. Everyone seems to think his father deserves a second chance. Everyone except for him. Aaron Hotchner. Logically it made no sense, Aaron had a kid of his own, would he not sympathize with his father for wanting to have a relationship with his son? Spencer finds comfort in the older man. Everytime his phone buzzes with a notification from William Reid, Aaron is always there to comfort him and distract him from the burning hole in his back pocket.
Chapter warnings: Angst, allusions to physical abuse. descriptions of violence and gore, swearing, and I think that's it.
Chapter One
December 16th, 5:15pm
"Hey son, I haven't seen or heard from you in a while. I hope you're doing okay."
Seeing that message was enough to twist the young doctors stomach in such intricate and painful knots he thought he might become violently ill.
"A while?" Spencer muttered to himself as he reread the message over and over. "it's been thirteen years, that's more than a while-"
A second message interrupted his train of thought.
December 16th, 5:27pm
"Why don't you come over sometime? My wife would love to see you, just something to think about..."
This message made something inside him break, the world shattering as his knees failed him. He swore he felt time stop as he reread those nauseating characters.
Wife? Since when was he remarried?
'Does she even know what he did to my mom, to me?' Spencer wondered, unable to tear his eyes away from his phone.
Does she even know she left a ten-year-old alone with his mentally-ill mother? Did she know what a selfish bastard he was?
Did they have kids?
Were they really that easily replaced?
Spencers mind was spinning, his apartment floor unsteady underfoot as his vision blurred. Tears stung his eyes, threatening to slip down his cheeks if he dared to blink.
His misery was interrupted as his phone buzzed once more in his palm.
Thankfully, it wasn't from the dreaded unsaved number, just Hotch.
December 16th, 7:14pm
"We have a case."
Spencer gathered his things, wiping the tears from his eyes on the cuff of his sleeve. He'd never been more grateful to hear those four words in his entire life.
His ride on the metro felt infinitely slower than normal, much to the young doctors dismay. The extra free time gave his mind permission to run away from his as much as it pleased.
His phone vibrated again and again with more messages from the unsaved number, each one more hostile and manipulative than the next when Spencer glanced at the device.
December 16th, 7:23pm
"Will you at least give me an answer? I know I screwed up, but that was a long time ago! I have a right to get to know my son."
December 16th, 7:25pm
"Imagine how I feel, not knowing my son has 3 PhD's and having to find out from my ex-wifes nurse. You're not the only one suffering here kid, remember that."
Spencer snapped his battered phone shut in frustration.
How did he even manage to make himself out to be the victim in this?
He's the one who left me.
'I don't owe him shit, not after what he did to me', Spencer thought furiously to himself, his knuckles white where they gripped his messenger bag.
'Maybe I should give him some kind of answer, let him know where he can stick-'
By the time the sentence popped into his head, his chest aching, he had reached his stop. Although cases weren't particularly a positive thing, anything was better than thinking about the man who had abandoned him and, subsequently, essentially ruined his entire life.
As soon as he stepped off the elevator and into the bullpen, he could feel his co-workers' eyes pierce right through him. It was almost like they could sense something was off with him the moment he entered Quantico.
Of course, while they were profilers, it's not like they were mind-readers.
He fled to the break room and poured himself a generous cup of coffee. He wanted to focus on what was important, which was certainly not the unread messages from a fetid man on his cellphone.
While pouring practically the entire container of sugar into his travel mug, he felt someone's hand touch his shoulder. He flinched slightly at the unexpected touch, and he turned to see Morgan, his eyebrows scrunched together in a confused and worried look.
"Slow down, kid. Have some coffee with your sugar." He said, his voice half-joking as he, presumably, tried to ease the tension practically emitting off of Spencer.
His phone vibrated once more from somewhere in his pockets, and Spencer's face twisted in fervent discomfort.
"Earth to Pretty Boy. You good?"
Spencer realized he was getting absorbed into his thoughts again and tried to brush it off with a quick sip of the sickly-sweet caffeinated concoction in his hand and a quick nod.
"Yeah, yeah, I'm fine. Just thinking." as if Spencer ever stopped thinking in the first place.
"Well, I'm here if you need anything, kid. But for right now, let's go find out about this case." Derek clapped Spencer on the shoulder again, which earned an instinctual flinch.
Instead of dwelling on that, Derek and Spencer strode towards the conference room, where everyone else had already begun piling in ad Garcia and Prentiss introduced them to their present case.
"Three men were found dead on the streets of a Nevada strip mall last night," Garcia began, pulling up the crime scene photos onto the screen.
Spencer flipped through the folder that was handed to him, scanning over the photos while distantly listening to the rather gruesome but ultimately unhelpful details Prentiss and Garcia were describing.
All three men had one of their fingers removed, yet their wedding bands were later found in their stab wounds upon closer investigation. They were all three found in close proximity to different hotels and known "lover's lanes".
The incessant vibrations and noise emitting from the dreaded device in his pocket was enough to make Spencer have a brain aneurysm.
He retrieved the phone from his pocket only to switch it off and shove it into the deep depths of his messenger bag. It wasn't necessary for a plane ride anyway.
His sudden movements earned him a few more concerned glances, but their attention was quickly diverted as Prentiss announced, "Wheels up in 30." effectively dismissing the team to get their things.
Spencer was restless the entire plane ride. It was only thirty minutes into the trip, with an hour and ten minutes left.
Normally, he'd be playing chess or even reading, but neither of those things seemed to tempt him, as all he could think of were the numerous messages probably flooding his discarded phone banished to the bottom of his messenger bag.
The last message he'd read replayed repeatedly in his mind like some awful alarm.
'Imagine how I feel...'
It made fiery anger swirl in his chest.
He could imagine how he felt. Because the pain William Reid inflicted before he finally left was enough to make Spencer understand what it was like to be sent to Hell and back, if such a place existed.
The memory of watching his own father leave his house at age 10 was enough to make him feel nauseous. His father leaving was the final stake through the young man's heart.
The physical pain, he could probably forgive him for. He would never forget, but maybe he could understand.
But leaving your young on to care for his mentally-ill mother? After all the pain he put him through, that kick while Spencer was already down was a new low.
For all Spencer cared, the man could rot. It was almost funny, thirteen years of healing down the drain with just a few text messages.
Once again, Spencer was ripped from his thoughts by a hand on his shoulder, It was Hotch, with a guarded but concerned look on his face.
"You've been way too quiet; is everything alright?"
'No', Spencer thought to himself. But he couldn't admit he wasn't okay, especially not before a case. More important things needed to be tended for than his own "daddy issues".
"I'll be okay," Spencer settled for. "Just some weird stuff has been happening lately. It's nothing I can't take care of, though."
It didn't dissuade Hotch's concerned look. If anything, it intensified the worry Spencer found there.
"Is it your mother? Is she alright?" He asked, leaning forward with furrowed eyebrows.
"She's okay! I actually just called her the other night," Spencer assured him. He bit his lip and gripped his messenger bag. "It's actually, uh, my dad. He's been messaging me, and I haven't spoken to him in thirteen years."
"Are you okay? Have you messaged him back any?" Hotch asked, releasing the worried lines on his forehead.
"I haven't, yet. I figured I'd wait until the case was over. That way, there's nothing in the way." Spencer explained, shifting uncomfortably in his seat as his eyes darted around the jet cabin.
Hotch must have picked up the signal to wrap up the conversation, because he gently reminded the young man that he could talk to him whenever he needs to, or just whenever he wants to.
Spencer smiled and inclined his head slightly. "Thanks, Hotch."
"It's not a problem, Reid. Now, let's get back to work."
Spencer flicked through the gruesome photos once more, the swirling anger in his chest dwindling for the first time since his phone at first pinged with that dreaded message.
For once, Spencer was able to completely forget about the slightly outdated phone burning a hole in the bottom of his messenger bag.

Catch up on Snowdrop here: Masterlist
The ringing phone cut through the silence of the New York home. It rang a few times before someone was able to answer it. “Happy,” The woman sighed as she answered the phone, not pleased to be called at home. “I know it’s late and almost time for Morgan’s bath but we got a situation here.” Happy quickly explained before she could manage to end the call. Pepper pinched the bridge of her nose before looking towards the teenager standing by the door. “Peter, can you just keep an eye on her for a moment.” The teen nodded his head as she left the room towards the office. “What kind of situation are we talking about?” She closed the door behind her. “Someone entered Stark Industries using Tony’s entrance code. They’re on the security camera and FRIDAY knew who they were.” Pepper sat down in the chair, her mouth dropped slightly. “Does anyone else know? FRIDAY, pull up the security footage from Stark Industries.”
The AI opened up the security footage on Pepper’s monitor as Happy replied, “No, I thought it best I handle it since Tony’s code was involved.” Pepper nods her head as she begins to watch the footage. “Happy, I’ll handle this, but this stays between us and this footage.” Pepper sighs and pauses the footage as she recognizes the person, even if they did only meet once or twice in passing. “Are you sure?” He sounded hesitant but Pepper hums to herself, “Yes. I can handle this. I know them.”

“Please still work. Please still work.” (Y/n) mumbled to herself as she entered the keycode she was given a few years ago to enter the same building she now was praying she could still get into without having to cause a scene. Her prayers were answered as the door opened allowing her entrance. She ran through the dimly lit corridor to the lab she had been in only a few times. “Hey FRIDAY, miss me?” She let out a laugh as the lab lights turned on. Her head turned towards the security camera in the corner giving it a salute. “Hello Miss (L/n).” The woman rushed over to an enclosed case that held exactly what she needed. “FRIDAY I need AG-10.” The nurse’s eyes locked onto the suit behind the layer of glass. “AG-10 is not ready. Testing has not been completed.”
“FRIDAY either give me access to AG-10 or I will override your code.” The order in the woman’s voice was tense as she glanced at the clock on the wall. A small release of air was the only sign that the door was now able to be opened. “Thank you FRIDAY.” In a hurry she opened the case, pulling everything out. “FRIDAY, leave a message for Pepper for me.” She instructs as she starts to put on the AG-10 suit. “What would you like the message to be Miss?” (Y/n) twisted awkwardly as she struggled to put the suit on for the first time without help. “Pepper, I’m sorry to barge in without notice but Sam and Bucky need me. Yes they know me. I have been working with them recently. I’m sorry for taking the AG-10 but I promise to bring it back when I can. Uh, let Morgan have an extra cookie, okay? I gotta fly.” There was a pause as the nurse slid on the last part of the suit.
AG-10 was the tenth model of a suit Tony was tinkering with for her after they met. The design was based off of an angel, drawing inspiration from her former name of Amazing Grace. The suit was made from the same material that Steve’s suit was made with. The suit was black and white with golden accents. Then there was a white leather material over her torso that provided extra protection that split at her hips to form the appearance of a skirt. She had black knee high boots that were accented with the same gold as her outfit, it almost reminded her of Bucky’s arm. Strapped on her back like a high tech backpack were the closed compact version of wings. Tony told her he had used a modified version of Sam’s wing design to make hers. The white metal was lined with gold and when the wings expanded to allow her to fly the repulsor rays had a golden glow. Just under the wings was a med pack that had nearly everything she might need for an emergency. The last important part of the suit was the head gear. The ear piece was built into a halo shaped head piece, that when worn a holographic visor covers over her eyes like high tech glasses.
“One last request FRIDAY. Patch me into Sam and Bucky’s coms.” She hurried out of the lab with the suit fully on. She made it up to the roof where she took a running jump into flight. She let out a small scream when it took a moment for the wings to open and the jets to kick on. “I’m insane.” She muttered to herself, while focusing herself on getting to the location she was sure Bucky and Sam would be. “You are now connected to Barnes and Wilson, Miss (Y/n).” The AI announced.
“(Y/n)?” Sam asked, confused having heard FRIDAY announce the connection. “What? You didn’t think I would miss out on the fun, did you?” The nurse smiled slightly. “I’m on my way as fast as I can.”
“Yeah well you better speed things up, Sam. The chopper’s about to take off.” Sharon’s voice came over the coms. “Bucky!” Sam called over the coms for assistance. “I don’t fly, man. That’s your thing.”
“I’m on it!” The nurse calls swooping into the range of the building. “What do you mean you’re on it?!” Sam asks seconds before she caught sight of him jumping out of the building in his new Captain America suit. “On your left Cap,” She came up on his left side in the air giving him a salute. “Where the hell did you get that?” Sam’s shock was clear as he looked at the woman next to him. “I, uh… borrowed it from Stark Industries.” The angel looking woman laughed. “Tony would have hated you.” Sam muttered. “Actually he found me annoying. Then again I did keep hacking FRIDAY,” She corrects while hearing Bucky chuckling. “To think you were going to marry his old man,” Bucky’s playful tone was heard over the faint rumble of the bike he must have been driving. “Howard? You were engaged to Howard Stark?” Sam exclaims dropping towards the helicopter.
“Guys! Not the time!” Sharon yelled at them to refocus the three of them. “Yeah, yeah Carter we’re working on it. Sam’s diving after the helicopter, I’m not that good at flying yet so I can’t dive like him.” The nurse huffed as she followed after Sam and the helicopter at a slower speed. Ahead of her she noticed Sam using the shield to block bullets. “(Y/n) I got this fall back and help Sharon or Bucky.” She nods her head and starts her descent to the ground, “On it Cap, call if you need me.”
(Y/n)’s eyes widened as she watched a truck light up in flames next to Bucky. “James!” Her worried call went unanswered until she saw the man on the ground. With a rough land the woman’s feet touched down on the ground a few yards from Barnes. Both super soldiers quickly moved to the police transport vehicle that was burning. “Hold on!” Bucky told the people trapped inside. (Y/n) grabbed onto one of the metal bars to help Bucky try and pull it open but quickly pulled back hissing at how hot the metal already was. Worried blue eyes glanced at her before they hardened.
“Morgenthau!” The two heard John Walker shout. “Go. I got this,’ Bucky told her with a slight nod of his head. She looked at him for a moment before nodding her head. She turned to see Walker there in his Captain America suit and what appeared to be a homemade version of the shield. “Let’s finish this.” Walker was still upset over Lemar’s death that much was very clear.
“I didn’t mean to kill your friend. I don’t wanna hurt people that don’t matter.” Karli spoke, shaking her head as if her statement would mean something. “Karli..” The nurse spoke softly trying to warn the girl that talking wouldn’t help but she was cut off by John, “You don’t think Lemar’s life mattered?”
“Not to my fight.” (Y/n) glanced over at Bucky who was still struggling to open the sealed doors while she slowly side stepped towards John, sure the man was a bit deranged but in the end she was more on his side than Karli’s and a fight was bound to break out. “I just want the people on that truck.” Karli’ kept talking.
An angered yell came from Walker as he threw his DIY shield at the young girl. (Y/n) quickly moved towards John’s side as she watched the shield be kicked away. “You’re an idiot Johnathan.” She huffs, raising her arms for the incoming masked super soldiers. John punched the first of them towards the woman who punched the masked person farther away from where Bucky was. John was practically blindly punching at anyone that came too close so that left (Y/n) to make sure they didn’t get to Bucky.
There was a clatter behind her, distracting her for just a moment. Bucky had broken the lock sealing the door shut and was now helping people out of the burning truck. With a few kicks and a punch (Y/n) was able to make a clear path for everyone to escape through. While she cleared the path John lost the upper hand he had and was thrown to the ground where he was practically piled on. The nurse rushed to his aid, grabbing someone's back and pulling them away. Meanwhile, not noticing one of the flag smashers ripping a parking meter from the ground and reading it to hit the woman. Bucky ran over kicking the flag smasher away making the meter drop to the ground. As soon as the person stood back up they received a metal punch to the chest sending them flying back into a chain link fence. “Don’t. Touch. Her.” Barnes sneered in a low growl punctuating each word with a punch.
Behind Barnes Karli picks up the meter and goes for Bucky. “James watch out!” (Y/n) calls while dodging a kick. Bucky dodged and kept dodging each time Karli swung the meter at him. The woman’s eyes left Barnes for a moment as she kicked away the man she was fighting by the time she looked back at him Karli had kicked him, making him slide across the concrete. Sparks flew from where the vibranium grinded against the concrete in Bucky’s attempt to slow down. “James!” (Y/n) cried out as soon as she realized he wasn’t going to stop in time. The nurse jumped up and over the guard rail, white wings expanded and repulsors ignited as she dove for him, grabbing his arm and easing the impact of the several story drop by easing his fall to the ground.
Both locked eyes for a moment that was gone in a flash as they both looked up to see someone jumping down after them holding a beam of some sort. Barnes’ turned grabbing (Y/n) with his right arm as he brought his left arm up to block the metal beam as best as he could. While the long haired person was focused on Bucky, (Y/n) made her way behind them to knock their feet out from under them. The fall gave Barnes the upper hand to take the beam which he then used to knock them out.
“Um, we have an incoming truck.” (Y/n) gasped looking up at the other police vehicle of victims teetering at the top of the metal construction frame. Barnes moved to her side looking up at the vehicle. The two glanced at each other before they both got themselves prepared to catch the falling vehicle if it came down to it. There were eyes everywhere now watching as welds began to break causing beams to break loose. The truck shifted, creaking and bangs could be heard. Then a flicker of something fell to the ground, Walker’s dented backyard shield landed on a pile of gravel.
“Hey, sugar, once this is all over I want to take you to dinner.” Bucky almost sounded hesitant as he spoke eyes locked on the truck above. The woman nods her eyes in the same place. “You still owe me a dance soldier boy.” She tried to smile but her worry for those in the truck and the outcome prevented her from doing so.
The two chanced a quick confused glance when they both noticed the truck moving backwards. It took a small step before they were able to see Walker behind the truck attempting to pull it back to safety. As hopeful as that had briefly mad her feel it was all ripped away when two flag smashers pulled him away causing the three of them to fall and the truck to once again teeter over the edge, this time further.
A gasp left (Y/n) mouth as she looked up at the truck barely hanging up above them. Right when she thought it might fall Sam swooped in holding the truck from falling. The nurse readied her wings to fly up and assist him. Bucky pulled Walker up from the ground as mini redwings attached to the truck assisted Sam in pushing the truck into safety. Next to her she could see Bucky’s proud smile. “Great job Cap,” She told Sam with a smile of her own on her face as she looked up at him.
Neither Bucky, John, or (Y/n) were looking as Karli picked up a metal rod and threw it towards the three. The rod was caught mid air by two different hands at the same time, Bucky and (Y/n). Both turned to look at Karli and the other two flag smashers with her. Just as Karli was about to attack she was hit back by the real vibranium shield, which bounced around like a little pinball taking out the other flag smashers as well before being caught mid air by Sam as he landed in front of Bucky, John, and (Y/n).
Sam’s wings retracted as Karli stood from the ground, removing her mask. “You of all people bought into that bullshit?” The sound in the girl's voice almost sounded like betrayal. “I’m trying something different. Maybe you should do the same.” Sam explained. Exploding gunshots were fired from above cloaking the scene in dust from the gravel. Everyone scattered in the dust. “FRIDAY, I need sight,” (Y/n) instructed in a hushed tone as she instinctively stepped closer to Bucky. Through the golden hue of the visor in front of her eyes she could see the fleeing flag smashers. Right as she went to say something she heard Sam’s voice. “This way.”
Sam led the way through the underground tunnels while Bucky updated Sharon what was happening. “Hey Sharon, we’re underground. We entered the tunnel on William. Heading south.” The pace slowed slightly as they reached a fork in the tunnels. “Looks like they split up here.” Sam pointed and John immediately turns, Bucky goes to follow but pauses, “I got it. Sugar, stay with Sam.” Bucky didn’t give her a chance to argue before he jogged after the other man leaving (Y/n) to follow Sam.
“Sam, I hear whistling.” The nurse whispered, not sure if he could hear it or not. Sam nods his head and points in a direction signalling for the two to split up. With the help of the visor she could see three heat signatures somewhere in front of her as she made her way through the work tunnels. She was above them and as soon as she got close enough to hear them she stopped, staying hidden. At that moment she learned some very surprising information. Two gunshots fired below her springing her into action. As she jumped from the catwalk above Sam came from somewhere else.
(Y/n) placed herself between Karli and the gun she held and Sharon who was laying on the ground with a gunshot wound. “Sam, stay back.” Karli warned. “So, what’s next, huh?” Sam asked, Karli’s attention on him giving (Y/n) time to kneel down next to Sharon. “You kill ten this time, then what, a hundred? Where does it end?” Karli glanced back at Sharon and the nurse who slid around to almost act as a human shield to the injured woman. “Please let me help you.”
“Don’t try to manipulate me.” Karli raised the gun higher aiming for the nurse now. “Don’t do it kid!” The Nurse said in a firm tone. Karli didn’t get to do anything before Sam tackled her to the ground. “(Y/n), get Sharon out of here.” Sam ordered while blocking his head with the shield from a thrown cinder block. Not wanting to leave him alone against the girl (Y/n) hesitated for a moment before scooping Sharon up in her arms.
The nurse carried Sharon through the tunnels being guided by FRIDAY out from under ground. Once they had made it back up to the city street the nurse set Sharon down and instantly got to work tending to the bullet wound. As she worked she her mind drifted back to the war, no longer was it just Sharon she was tending to but a soldier. With everything at the ready the melody of Amazing grace fell from her lips as she worked on removing the bullet and stitching the wound closed. As she finished her eyes scanned up to Sharon’s face. “I don’t trust you. I don’t think I ever truly have. I’ll be keeping my eyes on you.” (Y/n) told her before she packed away the extra supplies that could still be used and put the kit back on her back.
For the sake of Bucky and Sam the nurse still made sure Sharon got to one of the paramedics, even if it may not have been necessary given she had already done the work. That was where she ended up meeting with Sam and Bucky. Sam flew in, Karli limp in his arms. A paramedic team took her away on a gurney and Sam followed. (Y/n) stepped over to Bucky, who was standing between two ambulances with John.
“What happened to the Flag Smashers?”
“When did the government make you Captain America?”
“What do we call you?”
“Is it still Falcon?”
“Or is it Captain Falcon?”
Questions came pouring in from reporters that Sam walked past without answering. He was thanked by a senator and a few others that were involved with the meeting that he just helped save. Bucky leaned against one of the ambulances as John stepped forward, (Y/n) moved over to Bucky, his arm wrapping around her sounders as she leaned against his side. Watching Sam talk in that moment, addressing the real issues, made her proud to know him. “I’ll follow that, Captain America, anywhere.” She whispered to the man next to her who gave her a nod, his thumb rubbing her arm gently.
Sam walked away from the group he was speaking to after his speech that was captured by a TV camera. He paused to nod at John Walker, who nodded back at him. The nurse stepped away from Bucky and the man stood up straighter before Sam could fully reach them. “Sorry, I was, uh, I was texting and so, all I heard was, um, ‘a black guy in stars and stripes.’” The three of them let out a soft laugh at Bucky’s lie. “Nice job, Cap.” Barnes said honestly looking over at Wilson with a proud gleam in his blue eyes. “Thanks.” Bucky gave Sam a pat on the shield. Sam turned his head over to the nurse, “How’s Sharon?”
The nurse gestures a head to where Sharon was leaning up against a car. “I patched her up but she refused to go to one of the ambulances.” (Y/n) told him as they walked over to the blonde. The nurse stood father back, arms crossed as her eyes stayed locked onto the woman. “You should get checked out.” Sam told her. “She’s not going to listen.” Bucky comments checking around for wandering eyes. “I’m fine Amazing Grace sang to me and everything.” The sarcastic way that Sharon said it made the nurse roll her eyes. “Told you.” Bucky adds glancing at the nurse.
“Uh, Cap?” Someone called from over by the ambulances. “Think they’re talking to you.” Sharon states before looking up at Sam. “Sorry for how things ended down there, but for what it's worth, the suit looks good on you.” Bucky looked around again before grabbing both (Y/n) and Sharon and nudging them away, “Okay can we get out of here now please.” As the three began to walk away Sam spoke again.
“I haven’t forgotten my promise. Pardons, for both of you.”

Bucky didn’t send, nor did (Y/n) return to Wakanda to wait for her impending pardon. No, instead she hid out at Stark cabin. After meeting up with Pepper to return AG-10, which Pepper insisted she keep since it was to be hers anyway, Pepper offered her to stay at the cabin. Well it didn’t go that quickly there was a long chat in between that was interrupted when Morgan asked for a tea party, the two women could not say no to the child.
It was during this time at the cabin that (Y/n) met Peter Parker for the first time. Peter had come to spend time with Morgan, something Pepper told her that he does often since Tony’s death. Peter was a nice boy and (Y/n) quickly bonded with him over inventions and technology when he walked in on her tinkering with an extendable staff that she was tinkering with in Tony’s old office. Bucky visits daily, always promising that their date will happen as soon as she’s pardoned.
It was lunch timed during one of Bucky’s visits when (Y/n) noticed the far off look in his eyes. She moved over to his side running her fingers through the short hair. “Hey, what’s on your mind soldier boy?” Barnes leaned his head back to look up at her. “Do you want to take a risk and come with me somewhere?” He asked, looking into her eyes. “To keep you from doing anything stupid? Always.” She teased bringing a small smile to the man looking up at her. The two rode his bike back to the city.
She held James’ hand as they walked through the hall of an apartment building. He stopped outside of a door, body stiff. She gave his hand a light squeeze taking a step back so she wouldn’t be in eye sight of whoever opened the door. During the ride here she had managed to piece together that this had something to do with the past, the Winter Soldier. “I’m right here. You can do this James.”
There was no reaction from him but he raised his hand to knock on the door, his head lowering in shame about what he was going to confess. The door opened and the first thing she noticed was the faint smell of an incense burning. “Hey, what are you doing here?” An aged man’s voice asked. “It’s late, come in before someone calls the cops.” James glanced over at her and she nodded her head in encouragement before stepping behind a pillar out of sight.
It was only a few minutes before Bucky came back out of the apartment. The woman stepped back out from where she was hiding and she could see the pain in those ocean blue eyes. Few short steps and her arms were wrapped around his larger frame. His head buried in the side of her neck hiding the few tears that fell from his eyes. Her hold tightened, fingers gently combing through his hair, comforting him. “I’m proud of you.” She whispered into his ear.
That was the first of many risky trips she took with him. Every time he went to finish checking a name off from his book he brought her along with him. She would comfort him after each one and then he would take her back to the cabin where most nights he would fall asleep on the couch. He didn’t have nightmares when she was near, with the exception of one. He woke up thrashing but she was there. She held him close, played with his hair, and right as his eyes began to flutter close he would hear her sing to him.

“James, are you sure I should be going to this? I haven’t even been pardoned yet. My trial is next week.” (Y/n) was worried as she looked around at the amount of vehicles around them as they arrived at the cookout Sam was hosting. “Sugar, you’re fine here no one is going to send you to the Raft here. This is Sam’s home and everyone is nice. I promise. Besides once they get a slice of that cobbler of yours I’m sure they are going to be in heaven.”
The woman’s eyes narrowed as she grabbed the cobbler out of the back of the car Pepper loaned to them for the trip. “I swear you brought me so you didn’t look bad bringing a store bought cake.” Bucky winked as he walked over, taking the cobbler from her as he leaned over to place a small kiss on her cheek. Placing his left hand on her lower back to lead her around to the docks. As soon as they rounded a truck Bucky was skillfully dodging fake attacks from one of Sam’s nephews. “Don’t drop that cobbler James Barnes!” She called when both of Sam’s nephew’s pretended to attack him and he raised the dish so quickly it teetered in his hand. He looked over his shoulder at the woman following him, giving her a boyish grin since she wouldn’t see the wink behind his sunglasses.
Bucky turned his head around, took off his glasses as he moved to a table to set down the peach cobbler. He patted a woman on the back before bringing the nurse to his side. “Sarah I want to introduce you to (Y/n). (Y/n) this is Sam’s sister Sarah.” Sam walked over, sneaking up behind the nurse and giving her a hug. “You made it!” He grinned, making her nod. “I did! Although I think someone,” She glanced over at Bucky. “Only wanted me to come for my peach cobbler.” At the mention of her dessert Sam’s eyes widened and dropped down to where it was on the table. “Classic recipe?” Sam teased earning a light slap on the shoulder from her. “Oh laugh it up.”
The cook out turned out to be a lot of fun. Bucky made conversation with Sarah while letting kids hand on his metal arm. It was just something that warmed her heart to see. There were many flashes as people took pictures. When the instruments came out (Y/n) pulled Bucky away from the kids and his conversations, apologizing while doing so, before making him dance with her. Sam was cheering as the two did one of the classic dances from their time before the war.
The sun was setting and Bucky wrapped his arm around (Y/n)’s shoulder before going to join Sam by the pier looking out over the water. The three of them exchanged a smile before turning to return to the party that was still roaring with stories and laughter.
A week later, Bucky and Sam were there when (Y/n) received her full pardon. The relief and excitement that moved through her bubbled into excitement and happiness that she released all at once as soon as she left the courtroom. Grabbing the metal dog tags hanging from around his neck she pulled Barnes down to press her lips to his, although taking a moment to get over the shock Bucky kissed her back before they pulled away. “I’ve wanted to do that for a long long time.” She smiled up at him.
“Sorry to keep you waiting, Sugar.”
“Damn right you are, soldier boy.”
“You two make me sick.” Sam groaned, turning to walk away from the two laughing super soldiers following behind him.

pinn reviews - final fantasy xv
a long ramble about final fantasy fifteen that sort of looks like a review, as written by someone who finished the game fifteen minutes ago and needs to get these words out of his head. spoilers inbound.
i'm a pretty big fan of video games. i don't know what my first was, but it was probably either banjo and kazooie or mario kart 64, at my cousin's house when i was very small. i think that video games as a medium are so interesting, since the fact that video games are inherently interactive changes the way that they tell any story. it's a shame that despite loving video games so much, i'm absolutely terrible at them.
i'm absolute dogshit at video games. whenever i boot up something new, i always play on easy mode because. i'm that bad. unfortunately, this means that a lot of video games are simply. impossible for me to beat. that's fine, as at the moment i live with my good friend lizz, who is certifiably Good at Video Games, and so we've been playing video games together for a little bit now. typically this means that she will actually play the majority of the game while i sit with her and watch, but occasionally i'll have a go, but she'll end up with the controller as soon as a boss fight or puzzle or a mechanic i just can't seem to grasp shows up. we recently played through the entirety of the kingdom hearts series together, and this was an absolute blast of a time. i'm glad to say that i adore kingdom hearts now, and it's become one of my hyperfixations, which you might be able to tell from my icon. but we'd finished the kingdom hearts series, and we were left to move onto something else. we'd also played final fantasy 7 remake, so in my wisdom, i suggested that we play another final fantasy game.
we looked through the ff games that were already purchased on our consoles thanks to lizz's uncle, and eventually, we decided that we should play. all of them. however to start, we were going to play final fantasy xv, 15, and work our way backwards through the mainline, single-player games.
i'd heard that xv wasn't very good, but honestly, i was still quite curious. one person who i'd been following on twitter for years was pretty obsessed with the main party members, to the point where i knew their names and what-not even though i didn't have much of an idea what the game itself was about. i remember watching a video by supereyepatchwolf a few years ago about how the game sucked, but i couldn't remember much of the details, and i knew, based on my obsession with kingdom hearts, that xv had started as a different game called final fantasy versus xiiv. i don't know all the details about versus thirteen, but i do know that it was originally helmed by the creator of my beloved kingdom hearts, mr tetsuya nomura, and that after many years, the vast majority of the game was thrown out, nomura wasn't in charge any more, and the whole thing was rewritten and reworked, which sounds like a fairly rough development cycle. but so what, i don't care about gameplay. i want to play the video game with those cute guys that i see fanart of on twitter, and lizz seemed happy enough to play through it with me.
and so we started final fantasy xv. i've been told that since the game was practically dead on arrival, they threw in a bunch of new content and reworked a lot of the early game before i got my hands on it. so my gameplay started with a scene of the four guys fighting some demon dude on fire and they're all old and grotty. whatever, that cutscene ends and we're put into a combat tutorial. that's over and we're on the road in what looks to be central america, pushing a car.
our four leading lads are noctis, the prince of the lucis empire, his best friend prompto, his bodyguard, gladio, and his chef and other things, ignis. i do quite like the main four members of the party in xv. prompto is quite easily my favourite, voiced by robbie daymond of goro akechi fame and with a bunch of fun little animations and quips that make him very likeable. he gets extremely excited at the idea of riding chocobos and has what i considered the best scene of the game, where he and noctis meet on a motel rooftop and discuss prompto's imposter syndrome, since he's only part of noctis' official retinue as his best friend. noctis is a fairly typical main protagonist, he's in love with a woman he hasn't seen in eight years and needs to go marry her or something, i don't care. gladio is a tough macho man with a mullet who wears leather jackets and wields a greatsword, and is apparently only 22, which is at least 10 years younger than i assumed. ignis is a strategist and chef, who takes on the most authoritative role and constantly tells noctis to not drive his car at night. i was not a fan of ignis at the start, but he grew on me, especially with how hard the game hit me with his personal arc. the four boys are off, driving to noctis' wedding in a different country across the desert when their car breaks down. we then run into the first issue of the game.
cindy is a mechanic. she also has her ass and tits out constantly, like your sleazy uncle's shirt with a naked woman was instead semi-alive as a video game person. she fixes your car and acts fairly sexual and it's just like. why do we have to do this. aren't we over overtly sexualised women in video games who have no reason for the way they dress other than the character designer was horny? whatever, i like women as much as the next guy, but cindy's design just. makes me feel so uncomfortable.
anyways you get to do a little driving around with the boys, until you stay the night before catching the boat to your fiance. overnight, you find out that noctis' kingdom has been basically destroyed by an invading empire called niflheim, and practically everyone noctis knows, including his father, are dead. you learn that noctis and his bride to be are also assumed dead, with noctis hearing his own death announcement on the radio. the game has a bunch of added cutscenes that are actually footage from the three-hour-long prequel movie that came out after the game, are extremely hard to follow and honestly i had no idea what i was looking at. anyways, noctis' family is dead, so it's time to do some hunting sidequests.
that brings us to the combat, i suppose. rather than the turn-based or even active turn-based combat that the series is known for, xv opts for more modern action rpg-styled combat. i was, naturally, terrible at this, but i managed to get around it with the fact that. it is almost impossible to die in this video game, provided you have enough items. the game allows you so much time to heal yourself that there's practically no way to have your entire party wipe unless you're doing absolutely terrible, and even then, your party members will probably try and heal you themselves before that happens. lizz tells me that the combat is boring, you just push the same button over and over and then you win. i do appreciate that, for someone like me who is terrible at reading enemy movements, there is a giant button that pops up on screen that tells you when to push the block button, but even then i was prone to fucking it up. whether that's the bad game design or my terrible gaming abilities is up to you to decide. anyways, the game is fairly easy but has annoying combat, your teammates limit breaks will only land about 50% of the time (or never, if you are gladio) and i was still bad at it, so i didn't have all that much fun.
instead of an active levelling system, the game will only tally your character's level ups when you either make camp or visit a hotel. camping is, in my opinion, the only saving grace of this game. each time you make camp, you get to see the characters doing fun little camping activities together and just hanging out, ignis will cook up a new meal in a dramatic fashion and everyone will compliment him and eat it off their coleman's branded plates, it's just very fun. you also get to see what pictures prompto has taken, which is one of my favourite gameplay features. prompto's passion is photography, and while i support him in this wholeheartedly, his picture taking skills are, quite frankly, awful. the game will randomly take shots while you're on the move, which leaves you with a delightful selection of awkward poses, characters hidden behind bushes, pictures taken while someone is half-dead in combat, and snaps where the natural lighting absolutely makes it impossible to tell what's going on. it's hilarious and going through prompto's collection of photos each night is honestly the best part of the game. we managed to wind up with a few shots that, even despite being scripted events, turned out absolutely terrible, and i will cherish those forever.
anyways, since noctis' father and fiance are dead, that leaves him the king of lucis. the only important person to make it out of the capital alive tells you to drive to the middle of nowhere, where he randomly springs on you. hey. go into a bunch of these dungeons and absorb a bunch of swords, this is your destiny as king and how you will defeat the empire. noctis goes, uh, alright i guess, and you're set loose again to wander around for a bit collecting the 'royal arms'. this plot point wasn't explained well but hey, whatever, we're collecting the glowy swords and that's fine.
you're introduced at some point to ardyn, the main antagonist. he's old, kind of groady and wears a fedora. he's a dick to you and talks about his automobeeel. apparently my friend miri thinks he's hot, she is wrong.
i can't remember what happens specifically but you're told that your fiance is still alive and in fantasy venice, and she's talking to the gods on your behalf to borrow their powers. there's a mission where you follow some purple trees that are electric, and you do that i guess. i enjoyed riding the chocobos around, but couldn't care much for the plot at this point. ardyn leads you to a volcano, where you fight a giant lava god. he tries to step on you and i, a denizen of the internet and with an active fear of foot fetishists, was extremely uncomfortable. noctis becomes friends with foot man and a lightning god who lived in those trees, and ardyn steals your car.
very upset by this, noctis and his gang risk everything to sneak into a military base and steal it back. because this is a video game, this works out fine.
there's a little mining city which is all about Girl Power, because all the Women run the Mining Industry like Girl Bosses, and you hang around there for a bit. because all the women are so Empowered, they wear bikinis all the time with overalls over the top. gladio decides he needs to fuck off for a bit, i have no idea what he does since i haven't played the dlc, and then he comes back with another scar. you hang out with his sixteen year old sister, who has a crush on the engaged and 20-year old noctis, and then you drive her to a lighthouse. when she's in your party, she can't really fight, but she gets a pink chocobo and i thought that was very cute. we turned out own chocobo white and lizz named him 'jones' after a mount she has in ffxiv.
eventually, you have a long boat ride over to fantasy venice. this is the part where the game stops being 'fun with a few issues in combat and a rushed and poorly told story.' the open world, which was a main feature with a bunch of little areas to find where noctis can fish, little hunting sidequests and random photo spots where prompto takes touristy photos, is now gone, and it will not return for the entire rest of the game. you can 'go back in time', but the open world was the most enjoyable part of the game, and it kind of really sucks that the main story doesn't let you have any more freedom like that.
after arriving in fantasy venice, you have a talk with fantasy hillary clinton and beg her to let your girlfriend summon a god into the middle of her city. hillary agrees, and you don't get to meet up with your fiance, because even if the game is constantly telling you how much noctis loves her, there is. barely any interactions between the two in the entire game. from what i can tell, they met when noctis was a child and they haven't seen each other in ten years but are still fantasy dog pen-pals. noctis marrying her was supposed to make an alliance or something like that, but her brother has betrayed her to the army. noctis' girlfriend is also an oracle, which means she can heal people, i guess? everyone talks about how important she is and she's constantly telling people that she needs to use her powers to help noctis but she's practically a non-entity.
as can be expected of most female love interests in a game primarily focused on men, noctis' fiance is killed while summoning a god for noctis to befriend. noct gets very mad about this, and turns super saiyan and kills the god back, but his girlfriend is dead and that's super sad you guys. there's a beautiful prerendered cutscene where she says goodbye to noctis but since we barely know her, and we've only been told over and over that they're in love without anything to actually well, show this, it didn't have much of an impact. fantasy venice is destroyed, and ignis is blinded while trying to help calm the giant raging god.
iggy's blindness and how the game makes you account for this and grow to care for him was one of the highlights, in my opinion, as well as crushingly depressing. while i'm not disabled and have no right to say if this was 'good disabled representation' or anything like that, i believe that the game handles it decently enough. the group falls apart as noctis is upset about his girlfriend, gladio is extremely mad that noctis won't care for ignis, and prompto just wants everyone to get along. there's a mission where gladio constantly yells at you passive aggressive things to noctis about how he's a cunt for running, which is obnoxious, but the character arc itself is fairly strong. when you make camp, ignis can't cook anymore, so everyone eats cup noodles in a depressing ass cutscene. ignis remains in your party for the rest of the game despite his disability, and he doesn't magically regain his sight like other fantasy media would do, which at the very least i think is good. i'm not sure what the opinion of actual disabled people is of the character, considering how often disabled characters are either turned into misery porn to make the abled audience be glad that isn't them and if ignis' arc falls into this trap, but i hope that it wasn't handled too poorly, as that would just be another terrible mark in this game's list of bad moves.
the characters eventually make it to the evil empire's capital, which is abandoned and filled with daemons. the characters learn that ardyn is super evil and taught the king of the empire how to turn humans into daemons, which has now happened to the entire city. the 'magitek suits', presumed to be enchanted armour that fights as the empire's infantry, actually house the souls of the human-turned daemons. honestly i like this as a plot point but the game handles it pretty terribly. there could have been more lead up to this, the explanation is pretty lacking, and prompto's Big Plot Twist is. terribly handled. turns out that prompto was born in the empire and was going to be one of those empty soldier daemons, but he was rescued by people belonging to noctis' empire. not that the game tells you that. instead, prompto goes 'turns out i'm one of ... them' and Does Not Elaborate. The game doesn't tell you shit, not about prompto's past, not about how he feels about this, not about how anyone else feels about this either because the other party members just go 'oh that sucks, good thing you're not evil' and the scene ends. robbie daymond tries so hard to sell these terrible, terrible lines, and it almost entirely fails, i'm so sorry prompto. fortunately because i'm a nosy ass, i read prompto's wikia page and knew the plot twist ahead of time, because i don't think i would have even registered it if i didn't.
anyways everyone in the evil empire is dead and ardyn starts talking about how he's immortal and an ancient king of noctis' country but the gods thought he sucked because he's too evil. i missed most of this because the cats got the zoomies and were dashing across the couch right in the middle of his speech so i can't tell you anything else. noctis tries to get a big magic crystal to fight him and instead. gets schlorped inside.
TEN YEARS LATER
yes then ten years actually pass while noctis is asleep. the game shows this by switching the head on noctis' character model to have a beard, but that's it, no changes in animations or whatever. the sky is permanently night and only one human civilisation remains, the rest destroyed by daemons. as a plot point, this ends up feeling. extremely worthless. why was noctis asleep for ten whole goddamn years? so we can wake up and go 'damn it sucks out here'. but it's barely even a like, incentive to fix everything, because you have a long talk with a former child you were friends with where he talks about how humanity is still going fine and everyone's okay and the world has moved on without you. it feels. pointless. when you meet up with your party members, they are exactly as you left them, only with slightly different character models. there is no change in the voice performance, the character's movements or how they talk to show that they've been without you for ten years. they barely mention it. i'm just. so confused as to why they decided that a ten year timeskip was the way to go? since nothing really changes, couldn't you have made it like, two years? one year? six months?? have the characters react a little more? something??? at least if it was only a year or so i wouldn't have to deal with the fact that noctis looks like norman reedus with his shitty facial hair now.
anyways after that there's a bunch of long and boring boss fights. you fight some dead kings for some reason, your party members get a little bit to talk about how cool they are and how much they love noctis, and then you meet up with ardyn. there's another boring boss fight and god this was only a few hours ago but it's already gone from my head. you summon the gods and the old kings to beat the shit out of him after you both go super saiyan again? there's incredible music but it feels barely earned and just kind of eh. anyways, noctis dies, which was the price of using the crystal of light or whatever the fuck. his ghost marries his fiance's ghost finally, and they smile as they look at one of prompto's pictures. you can pick any picture you want to go here, and then the credits roll, showing all of the pictures you saved of prompto's shots. showing me all the pictures at the end is honestly lovely, but it really only served to remind me of how much more fun the game was in the first half. and that's the end, of final fantasy xv.
so what did i think of the story? it's terribly cobbled together and struggles to get you to feel anything and play out all the plot beats. you feel awful for the countless employees who spent years working on the beautiful cutscenes only to have them be in this game, which sucks and the story barely gets through. there were parts that i enjoyed, mostly the thing about the daemons being people, but honestly the rest of it is a mess. it's hard to follow at the best of times and just awkward and terribly written at the worst. the ending is cheap, and it doesn't feel like you've actually accomplished anything. i left that game feeling numb and empty, sad that i'd wasted so much time to end up with such a colossal failure of a conclusion.
i had fun with the game when it was my four little guys running around doing sidequests and camping together. after the midway point of the game, there's none of that, and you're bogged down into a plot that just pushes you from point a to point b and boring overlong bossfight to boring overlong bossfight. the character moments between your party are a lot of fun, but the second you hit fantasy venice, everything is pretty much on rails and you can't do anything except what the game tells you explicitly to do.
should you play this game? no lol. if anything i've mentioned about the story interests you, you'll be better off watching a lore video or reading the wiki. if you do want to play it after all that, just don't proceed after the myrthril refining quest, it's pretty much all downhill from there. will i play the dlc? unlikely, i think lizz and i will just watch a cutscene movie of those.
this game left me feeling empty and numb and not in a fun way. i wanted, so, so hard to like this game, and it all crashed around me in a beautifully overproduced and confusingly written cascade. i love you prompto, but even your cute little freckly face and terrible photography can't save this trainwreck of a game.
tl;dr - final fantasy xv sucks. i hope that 13, our next ff game, will be better.
#ramble#review type thing#did you read all of this? im impressed#i did not proofread#so if its a mess#just pretend thats a meta commentary about the game itself#i wrote this for like an hour trying to understand the feelings this game gave me#final fantasy xv

All-STARS -STORY MODE- CHAPTER 18 PART 2
Part 3
Part 1
This is a continuation of the first part.
-Back to the rest of the Group in the hardware store-
10:48
“Do any of you believe in the existence of evil?”
Ash had asked the whole group that question after they got back without U!Takeo, after they had to explain what had happened back in Wonderland Plaza. “A force of nature capable of giving rise to all things wicked?” his back was back to everyone with his hands on his hips when he asked further, waiting for an answer.
“Most of us do.” Primis Richtofen answered as he was seated on a crate he shared with the Engineer, “Back in 1918, before the end of World War I, me, Doctor Maxis und our men had gone to Excavation Site 64, we had uncovered an ancient tomb vith large amounts of Element 115 inside, from vhat ve had found is very likely from zhe middle ages, zhe statues zhat looked exactly like us und elemental stones zhat can be used by staffs.”
“It was long before we got involved, German.” Primis Nikolai growled in anger as he glared at him, “You and others had uncovered and created something that should never be unburied and undisturbed but you went ahead and unleashed the evil upon the land with no second thoughts!”
Diego was silent as Ash turned around to face them with his arms crossed, Engineer then spoke up “Before all of this, we had met and seen things on every Halloween, most of it was normal before but some of ‘em ain’t good.”
Ash looked at everyone as he explained “Guys, listen to me and what I had gone through in my own experience, alright?”
“It happened 30 years ago, my friends and I spended the night at the cabin,”
[Digitally drawn by Meaghan “Icefir” Halter, images, screenshots and movie poster belongs to Sam Raimi and the one and only; Bruce Campbell.]
The walls shown the memories of Ash’s younger years with his former girlfriend, a friend with a girlfriend of his own, and his sister in the car riding into the woods and arriving to the old cabin behind everyone as they settled to listen to his story
“We shouldn’t be looking but we have found the book… Necronomicon Ex-Mortis, Book of The Dead. Created by the Dark Ones as it was inked in blood and bound in human skin. Having the power to resurrect demons and summon the powers of darkness.” as the scene of these memories changed into a book, like Ash had said himself; the book was bound in human skin and flesh, and it was inked in blood of the fallen to write and drew the book in as Ash and his friend, Scotty, looked at it before they found a reel-to-reel tape player with the type left behind.
“The professor, Raymond Knowby, long before we got there, had taken it to the cabin to study but when he read the box’s text out, he was never seen again.”
Scene had rewinded to an elderly man, Professor Raymond Knowby, his wife, daughter and assistant wandering into the ruins of a castle until they discovered Necronomicon Ex-Mortis and along with a dagger, both of them were covered in dust before it showed the cabin once again as the windows was glowing light through them.
“When we played the tape Knowby left behind, we unleashed something dark, something evil that lasts for centuries that lives in the woods.”
Then we are shown a flashback of Ash having pinned his possessed hand onto the floor with a knife in order for it to stay in place while he uses a chainsaw to sever it while blood- his blood, sprayed onto his face as he screams in agony.
“It got into my hand and went bad so I lopped it off.”
We then saw into the evil entity's point of view flying and dashing through the forest as it was going towards the same cabin and it broke down the back door, flashbacks shown the images of Scotty, Sherry, and Cheryl had been possessed; Cheryl was the first one to be possessed, locked in the fruit cellar of the cabin as she was banging under the chained up cellar door for most of the night. Sherry was then the next unfortunate victim of the Kandarian Demon when she was attacked in her room and eventually Scotty was too the next one to go as he was severely injured when he tried to find an alternate route back to the outside and he was eventually resurrected into a Deadite.
“It then got to my friends, twisting them, changing them, they made them… less than human. And Linda, she…”
We are then presented to one more flashback of Linda in her night gown as an unseen force breaks through the glass while she screams and then presented to the now Deadite Linda being decapitated by Ash with a shovel and her head flew upward and back down to him in a struggle.
“...And then soon, things escalated quickly after that.” he finished.
“Escalated quickly?” Primis Nikolai commented on Ash’s story, the way he looked at him now as the Russian suspects that this Necronomicon Ex-Mortis may have something to do with this and Ash Williams may somewhat be involved with it.
“A lot of sh!t, I was the only one that managed to escape and now all because of a screwup I’ve made; read from that book, one lousy time, evil has found not only me but all of you somehow. and I am now, as I was thinking, responsible for all of this.” Ash somewhat confessed with his hands raised and then fell down onto his sides, everyone looked at him as silence remained until U!Dempsey said “Huh, funny that you were the reason why we are here in the first place.” as he gave him the stink eye while Ash then remarks “You don’t think to catch a rabbit once it’s on the wrong foot, do you?”
“Okay, that’s it; I’m shooting him.” before he got out a pistol and then aimed it at Ash who got his “Boomstick” out and the only one that prevented this was the Engineer who stood between them and said “Hold on, let’s not make it worse, boys.” with his hands raised in a gesture of calming the situation or an attempt to calm it down.
“There’s gonna be other theories, if what Ash says about the Necronomicon story didn't have anything to do with this then what we are dealing with is worse than zombies and Deadites.” Shaw had to explain as he stood up from his place towards the standoff between El Jefe and the marine.
“Examples?” Corporal asked as he still was looking at Ash, “Stanton may have a point.” Primis Richtofen added with must, “Apothicons are the second one to be on the list, as of now the Book of The Dead is top of it but now with other theories that anyone want to share?”
David Tapp then spoke up with raw rash, “Jigsaw may be behind this zombie outbreak but now when I think about it, I don’t think that kidnapping people through interdimensional means was a way for him to act out his games on.”
More and more theories are coming up more in people's minds as Ash and Tank had to lower their weapons to listen.
“A part of us believed that the Order was somewhat behind all of this,” Diego finally spoke up before two of his teammates could, “If this was their plan the entire time, then we must surely do something about it.”
“Maybe Saxon’s mistake,” Medic suggested, “He might have caused a universal rift in our universe to yours.”
“Stop, stop, stop!” Miss Pauling interjected, “It could be Gray Mann, he is the only one that is advanced with machinery and technology, maybe he could be responsible for all of this.”
“But it doesn't explains how those creepy-looking f*@#ers that brought us here, ones with jack-o-lantern faces.” U!Dempsey had poked a hole into these conspiracies'.
“Still,” Bill finally spoke after they all talked, “Last thing I remembered was turning on the generator to help my teammates to get away from zombies and then getting the wind out of me before things turned back.”
David Tapp, up until now, looked at Bill with concern and said with hasite “Did you think that you’d died?”
“I think so, Detective.” Bill Overbeck had confirmed and then the store went still, silent, “I think I had died too but how are we even alive?” David said as he placed a hand on his forehead as if he was pressing against a headache.
“How the hell are you even here, breathing, not undead?” U!Dempsey asked, adding further questions but Primis NIkolai already figured out how, “You were both resurrected. By something.”
“Resurrected?” They both said, not believing the Russian but before he could say anything, a knock was heard and he honestly had no idea who got out a shotgun as a bang was heard and split the wooden door and a yell was heard.
“Engie!” Ash yelled to whoever saw him with the Frontier Justice, “Sorry, Ah panicked!”
“Stand down!” A familiar voice was heard from the back of the door, their ears perked up as P!Richtofen questioned “Takeo?”
As if it was automatic, Pyro had gotten a flamethrower and then walked over to the door as P!Nikolai tried to stop them but Spy stopped him. “Don't recall what happened in the Wonderland Plaza.”
Nikolai looked at him for a moment and said “Do you think Mercer had found us?”
“Oui., I believe so, if I am wrong, it could be Takeo.”
Pyro slowly grabbed the handle and then slowly pulled it open and pointed at whoever it was on the other side of the door with the weapon. On the other side was Frank West who had his hands up and beside him was Ultimis Takeo who tried to ushered to the pyromaniac but then realized two reasons: his encounter with the shapeshifter with biomass and his allies may had relayed this to the rest of the group.
“Pyro, lower the flamethrower, we are not like him.” he reasoned as Pyro looked at U!Takeo with suspicion, he carefully walked over to the Pyro as slowly as possible. When he got close only for Pyro to see more than Frank, and then rolled his sleeve a bit for the same vine to present a flower for them as proof.
It was good enough for Pyro but not for Frank West yet the Samurai were able to have their back turn and they talked quietly as the photojournalist watched rather dismayed with tribulation.
“He?”
“Hai.”
“But what if he’s?”
“He’s not Mercer, if he’s him, he could’ve consume me rhen he had the chance but he didn’t on rhe rhole way here.”
“He’s not him?”
“Iie, his name is Frank West-san, not Alex Mercer.”
Frank examined the private conversion between the two with loathsome pause while these two whispered to each other with no end it seems, Pyro seemed to be in two minds on the dilemma until the delay that took 5 minutes they finally turned to Frank West, saying nothing but Pyro moved and lets Takeo in, he turned and looked at Frank before saying “Are you coming?”
Frank was a startled at first as he was be bit suspicious of this before he cautiously walked into the hardware store, so far on his first day; he had countered a mad man known to him as a Psycho in form of a gun shop owner when he was out trying to find more unlucky survivors in the zombie after he helped Brad to try take down a terrorist reasonable for this.
He was thinking that these people could have something to do with this outbreak as well when he entered the store and there were people inside, he recognized them right away as they were with the other townspeople before the barricade was broken in but there are two old-aged men who are unfamiliar.
“Well, hello there, stranger.” Diego was the first one to greet him, “Hey, you must be the ones from the Entrance Plaza, I guess they did get away rather all.”
“And you are?” Ash asked as he crossed his arms while he looked at him. “I’m Frank West,” Frank introduced himself, “Right now I rather want to know than exchanging pleasantly.”
“Right on the spot,” Bill said as he stood up, “Are you writing a story about this?”
“I’m a photojournalist, just listen, your friend has led me here, I guess to convince all of you to come with me.”
“To where?” U!Dempsey said with suspicion, “As I recall nothing in this mall is safe.”
“There is,” Frank rebuked, “An security room was wielded shut so none of these walking corpses could get in.”
“Welded shut?” Scarlett perked up, that caught their attention so the Engineer urged “Is it true?”
“A Janitor, Otis, had wielded it shut with a blowtorch to make sure none of them would get in, that would be the only place left that could be safe.” He explained to the group who were interested in this conversion.
Miss Pauling looked at him before pulling Primis Richtofen, and Scarlett away, “Guys, a word please?” and they were on the other side of the store right away. “What do you zhink, Frank vas telling zhe truth or…?”
“If he was lying, he couldn’t spill it out. There’s hardly a window there and…”
“If the door was wielded shut from the inside, how did he manage to get out of the room?” Scarlett had to inject the two, “And I want to know how.”
“Still, better than being here with the dead.” Miss Pauling as she and P!Richtofen looked at her with treaty, “If ve follow him, he could-”
“He had said rhe “helicopter” ras coming,” another voice joins in the meeting of theirs, they looked and saw him, Takeo who was watching them with arms crossed across his chest.
“Vhat/what?” the three said at once.
Ultimis Takeo walks over to them, stopping once he got close enough to them, “He had spoken of his “ride ``coming rithin three days. Rhis is how he had planned; find the story to make sure it will be worth for these three days.”
“Why can’t it be three hours?” Miss Pauling thought with hefty impatience, they were silent for a moment and soon, Richtofen said “Is his escape route reliable?”
The warrior nodded, “Hai, story was the reason he is here.”
The three looked at each other with the thoughts, possibly thinking it over about it but you could ask why couldn’t Primis Richtofen use the Summoning Key?
Well, he had tried earlier but for a shocking reason, Key didn’t open up the portal like before. He had tried and tried but it failed each one time.
Primis Nikolai had berated him on this but it wasn’t honestly his fault, the key wasn’t working and something was very wrong.
This seemed to be the only option for them now, much as he doesn’t like it but he had to agree to the deal. “Alright.”
“Okay.”
“Sure.”
U!Takeo looked content with their decision, but not before Richtofen stated “But if ve all had to vait for three days for it to arrive, ve'd need supplies.”
“Brad’s gonna handle that.” Frank had came around the corner where the four were, “Frank, you see-”
“I kinda heard the whole thing, Tak,” Frank had confessed, no joke, he had listened to what he said, U!Takeo felt a bit bad for what he had overheard and looked at him to say something but Frank continued “I'm gonna check if everyone could fit inside the helicopter, afterall, my guy is reliable.”
“Well, Brad is going to need help with supplies.” Scarlett suggested, “Where is here now?”
“Well…”
12:14
Two hours it took for a few of them to get in the security room with much supplies they needed but of course, they had to share them with the survivors Frank had rescued for the three days as Tank had tied his jacket around his waist as he had a black tank top with his dog tags is standing guard of the vent, making sure that there won’t be any shambling zombies won’t get inside the room through the vents.
Brad had got back with more supplies as Tank was pressing his back against the wall close to the door to the monitor room, Brad looked and then said “Yo guys! Gimme a hand here!’
Dempsey and Frank walked over to Brad who had the supplies in a box that was sitting inside the air duct, Frank grabbed a cola from it but Brad gently grabbed him by the arm and made the photojournalist look at him.
“Wh-what gives?”
Brad grabs the soda and pulls it away from him, “Considering the helicopter, bringing more hands here and all, we have to work together.” Brad said as Ultimis Dempsey nodded and added “But that doesn’t mean that we all tell you anything of what was going on.”
“The corporal had the point; things are classified for security reasons and things that, if we do tell you, cannot be printed as necessities.”
“Yeah?” Frank sledded with his arms crossed, “So?”
“So, we just want you to appreciate the situation.” Brad answered as he and Tank looked at him, Frank looked up at the ceiling and said “Well, we are all trapped in a mall with a bunch of zombies.” before looking at them again “Yeah, I think I appreciate the situation just fine.”
“Zombies….” The Afican man looked down at the floor before looked back to Frank, “I still can’t believe all of this is happening, you know, it seems unreal.”
“But this is reality, we know how to take them out.” Tank blissfully thinks as Brad gives the cola back to Frank West and carries the box to the monitor room as the marine goes with him.
“Ya alright there?”
“Yeah, we got it.” Dempsey answered as he opened the door to let Brad and himself in while Frank opened his drink and sipped it down.
Dempsey went into the hallway as where the rest of the group was, Shaw was making another batch of Acid Bombs with Ash looking over at his work before looking over at the old man and greeted with “Making new friends, already?”
“Hahaha, go f*** yourself, Ash.” mocked Dempsey with a sneer as he walked to P!Richtofen with Scarlett and Pauling on what they will be doing once the rescue arrives. Tapping him on the shoulder, making him jump a little but realized that it’s Dempsey.
“It was a tiring day, too bad that the stuff we could use is back at the hardware store.”
“Ve could always come back to it vhen ve go out of zhe room vhen ve still can but on limit of three days,” P!Richtofen recounted with the 1940’s marine, “Ve sleep for about 4 hours per night to switch shifts, ve vill figure out more by morning.” he then turned to walk over to his own living place with little supplies he had carried with him as U!Takeo nodded in agreement.
4:56
Four hours passed with David Tapp, P!Nikolai and Richtofen and Engineer kept awake, ready for action while others slept. U!Dempsey was up to get ready for watch as he cracked his knuckles as Miss Pauling was up as well with her legs against her chest, looking down.
“Your turn was up, German.” It was Primis Nikolai who looked over and said this to Richtofen to rest, with a nod as he got and then walked away so Ultimis Dempsey could take watch. He looked back and saw David Tapp doesn’t let anyone have a turn, just kept watching that lead having five of them, one being the Pyro, sat with them.
“He must’ve been determined.” he thought as he walked over to his sleeping quarters, gently sitting down on the floor and sat down with ease next to Bill. The old man looked at him and said “Did you figure out what the hell was going on?”
P!Richtofne looked at William with confusion at first, “Hmm?”
“The whole “Interdimensional Time travel” bullsh!t?”
“I do not know yet, William.”
“Not even the parts on how me and Tapp are still alive?”
“I do not know about zhat either, if I do know, I vould.” P!Richtofen replied with skepticism. Bill looked at him with his arms crossed, he had been through hell and back in a form of war through Vietnam and Green Flu zombies with his teammates whom he will now consider them as friends and he hoped they are still alright right now after… What he must do to ensure their safety.
“Doc,” Overbeck insisted, “I am not that stupid, if this… Whatever is happening, did those “App-o-con” creatures have something to do with this?”
“I believe so, William-”
“Just call me “Bill,” Ed.”
“Bill,” The Doctor corrected himself, “As much as I vould love tell you everything about vhat had been going on und vhy zhis is happening in zhe vhy is has been, I couldn’t find zhe words for that. Time travel und all zhat had happened, vhy zhe dead vas resurrected but as a normal person, not a zombie is beyond my level of reasons.”
Bill seemed to get that but then said “Maybe it was out of no reason whatsoever or just brought me and David back to live on purpose, a bullsh!t purpose.” before turning over to Richtofen before he lays down.
“Besides, I didn’t sign up to be in this hellhole but I’m here anyway.” before closing his eyes and then starts trying to close his eyes to sleep.
Primis Richtofen looked down at the floor as he wondered back at what had happened at the hardware store. “But it doesn't explains how those creepy-looking f*@#ers that brought us here, ones with jack-o-lantern faces.” U!Dempsey had poked a hole into these conspirities.
Frustration, irritation and condemned in this dimension, he groaned in fervid and furious at this sudden change to his plans to save the universe as something had not only brought him and his fri- Allies to do god-knows-what, but everyone else getting involved in this agenda as well. He fully believed that Dr. Monty would do something about this but…. A thought came to him, it should’ve been sooner but his mind had heaved it from it too late; Why wasn’t Dr. Monty doing anything right now? Putting a stop to this?
Edward was amazed yet uncertain by it. If Dr. Monty knew what was holding him and his team up and figured it out, he could do something to cut this situation short, get everyone home and resume what they were doing but why wasn’t he?
Maybe, just maybe, something must’ve figured out that Dr. Monty could try but must’ve shuttled him out from this strange modern dimension as a precautionary measure if he did find out what was going on. Or maybe it had found him, Dr. Maxis, Samantha and-
“Nein, Edward, do not overzhink it…” he swallowed those thoughts before they could get more avid. Shaking his head at this as he closed his eyes to let out a sigh.
“Hopefully soon, ve could be able to get back vith zhe rest of our groups und figure what is going on yet most critically: vho vas behind it all.” he whispered to himself as he laid down at last.
Using a handbag filled with clothes from the store as a makeshift pillow for his displeasure yet usual slumber, it took him a jiffy for him to find comfort on the floor until he eventually found it and fell off into a slumber….

Hi! If it's not too much trouble, may I ask for a one-shot with Bakugou x reader? Like she's in class 1-C and wants to become a hero but her parents didn't let her take the entrance exam for the hero course because they thought she was way too weak. And she moved across the country to UA to get away from them, and one day Bakugou hears her talking to Shinsou about it and he starts subtly and indirectly helping her but being a tsundere about it? Thanks so much if you can write it, no pressure! :)
(Y/N) watched as the 2nd year students walked by, the hero course students… what she wouldn’t give to be one of them. (Y/N) was a first year in general studies, but had always dreamed of being a hero, sadly her parents would only let her attend UA if she applied to general studies. Her parents never believed that her quirk was good enough, and that she would get hurt or get in the way as a hero, and maybe they were right; but that didn’t make her stop dreaming. Dreaming that she could be like the parade of students before her.
Midoriya, Todoroki, Iida, Yaoyorozu, and… Bakugo. The stars of the school last year, class 1A was full of amazing hero candidates, but one of them was a cut above the rest, at least, in (Y/N)’s eyes. Katsuki Bakugo was the winner of last year’s sports festival, and one of the strongest students in the hero course, and definitely the most handsome. Most of (Y/N)’s classmates thought he was a jerk, and they weren’t wrong, but she couldn’t help herself from being drawn to him. Maybe she saw something in him that nobody else did, or maybe she was just into bad boys, only time would tell.
(Y/N) was brought back to the moment when she saw a familiar face in the parade of would-be heroes, Hitoshi Shinso. Hero of the general studies course, and her childhood friend, Shinso was legendary for being the only general studies student to make it to the last round of the sports festival, and for successfully moving from general studies to the hero course. (Y/N) and Shinsou went to the same primary school, and even though he was the year above her, they had been good friends, at least, until her family moved during middle school. She wondered if he remembered her.
“Hey Shinso!” (Y/N) called out, before her better judgement warned her not to make a scene. He turned his head and their eyes met, whether he remembered her or not, she was committed now.
Shinso looked puzzled for a moment, then cracked a half smile. “(Y/N)? Is that you? It’s been a while.”
“Yeah… it has.” She replied, returning his smile. “A lot has changed since then, I hear you’re a hero course student now.”
“I am, my dreams seem almost attainable now.” He took a breath and exhaled slowly, he wasn’t usually very expressive, but (Y/N) knew that it was an expression of happiness. “It’s good to see you here. A step closer to being a hero, right?”
“Unfortunately no, I’m general studies…” She sighed.
“Didn’t pass the exam?”
“Didn’t even get to try. You know my parents, they don’t think I’m cut out for it.” She tried to sound like it didn’t bother her, like admitting she wasn’t good enough didn’t crush her heart.
Shinso nodded knowingly, then put a hand on her shoulder. “Well, you know what they say. Do well enough in the sports festival and you may get moved. You just need to prove yourself.”
“Hey, Shinso!” A green haired boy poked his head out of a classroom. “Are you coming? Iida wants us all to be in our seats before the bell rings!”
“I’ll be there, get off my case!” He shouted back. Shinso then returned his attention to (Y/N)
“A friend of yours?” She asked, almost mocking him.
“Friend is a strong word.” Shinso replied with an eye roll. “Anyway, I better go. Hopefully we can catch up later.”
“Yeah, I look forward to it.” She replied. Shinso then turned and walked into the classroom, and (Y/N) started towards hers. She was worried she might be late, but still took the time to steal a glance into the classroom. When she did, she locked gazes with the fiery eyes of Bakugo. She blushed intensely, and took off running. I can’t believe it! He actually looked at me!
*****************************************************************************************************
Shinso took his seat in class, groaning loudly to express his annoyance. He wasn’t really annoyed, he was mostly excited, he loved his hero classes, but he had a reputation to keep up. If he stopped being so abrasive then the other students might try to befriend him which is not what he was here for.
“Who was that girl?” Midoriya asked him.
“Not that it’s any of your business, but she’s somebody I used to know a long time ago.” He replied.
“What’s her name? Is she a first year? Is she someone you knew from general studies?” Midoriya began bombarding him with questions. Shinso responded by putting his head down on his desk and ignoring him.
“Hey nerd, Shut up!” Bakugo shouted at Midoriya.
Midoriya stopped asking questions after that, and Shinso was grateful since he was starting to get a headache. Shortly after, class started and his attention was absorbed by the material.
When class ended he got up to leave before anyone could ask him for anything else, but Shinso was surprised by which student caught him.
*****************************************************************************************************
“Who was that girl?” He asked Shinso aggressively.
“How unexpected, why do you care?” Shinso replied, turning and cocking an eyebrow at the boy behind him. But he received no answer, just the glare of auburn eyes back at him. “Spit it out Bakugo, I don’t have time for this. What do you want?”
Bakugo grabbed Shinso by the collar. “I’m the one asking questions, and you’re answering.”
“What, don’t you trust me?” Shinso queried.
“I know better than to answer one of your questions.” Bakugo countered.
“Apparently you don’t,” Shinso chuckled. “Let go of me.”
Instantly Bakugo released his grip on Shinso’s collar. He then blinked a few times and looked around, confused, then enraged. “You bastard!” Bakugo snapped. “You’ll pay for that.”
“Maybe you shouldn’t be so aggressive to the person who has what you want.” Shinso countered.
“Just tell me who she is and how you know her. Then maybe I’ll let you go.”
“Suit yourself. Her name is (Y/N), we went to primary school together. She’s a first year in general studies who shouldn’t be.” Shinso started to walk away, then paused and turned back. “That all you needed?”
“Yeah, fine.” Bakugo answered.
“Good, then after school, you’re going to start a fight with her, in front of the school. And you’re going to make sure she wins. In front of a teacher. Beating you should show them what she’s made of.” Shinso commanded this of Bakugo, then walked toward the front of the school.
Bakugo stood there a moment in a haze, then began walking towards the school entry. The words Shinso just said floated around in his head, along with the memory of (Y/N)’s stunning eyes.
*****************************************************************************************************
(Y/N) Walked out of the front doors, heading back to her dorm. It wasn’t like she had any friends to hang out with here, and she was feeling pretty sad. She wondered if coming here had been a mistake. It was her dream school, but being in general studies, being at UA just reminded her that she wasn’t a hero, and she was never going to be. Maybe it would’ve been easier on me to just go to a normal high school.
“Hey you!” (Y/N) turned to see Katsuki Bakugo pushing his way through the crowd. “Yeah, you there! Get your ass over here!” She was shocked to see him pointing directly at her, and didn’t know how to answer.
Bakugo closed the distance between them, but (Y/N) was still stuck to the spot. The guy she liked… he was talking to her! She could hardly believe it.
Bakugo’s fist landed squarely under her chin, sending her flying backwards until she skidded to a halt on the ground, completely shocked.
“What the hell, man?!” Kirishima shouted, grabbing Bakugo’s arm and shaking him.
The sharpness returned to his eyes, and he glared at Kirishima. “Shut up! What does it look like i’m doing!?! I started a fight and I’m gonna finish it!” He then pulled off his uniform jacket and threw it at his friend.
A fight?!? Against Bakugo!??! I don’t stand a chance! (Y/N) worried. But she wiped her bloody lip with her wrist and stood up, trying to hide her fear. Part of being a hero was standing up to fear, and even if she couldn’t be one, she could act like one. “Alright then, come at me.” She said, voice trembling slightly.
Bakugo cracked his knuckles. “Now that’s what I like to hear.” He smirked, then began charging at her.
(Y/N) responded by flipping her hair in front of her to form some kind of shield, bracing it with her arms. He didn’t know if it would hold against him, but she had to try.
Sure enough, Bakugo’s second punch collided with her shield. But (Y/N) didn’t flinch, or move. Instead, Bakugo staggered backwards, shaking his newly injured hand. “The hell!?” He growled.
(Y/N) was in shock too. She couldn’t believe how well her mega-keratin held up. When did I become this strong? She then stood tall, flipping her hair out of her face. “That all you got?” She taunted.
Bakugo charged again, preparing an explosive right-hook. But (Y/N) ducked to the side fluidly, leaving her super strong hair to intercept the punch. His explosion was hot and concussive, hurting her ears, but hadn’t caused any damage. As her hair was blown back by the pressure wave, she spun and flipped her hair around, using its strength and momentum to land a blow on Bakugo’s back, knocking him over.
Bakugo looked stunned when he hit the ground, trying to take in a breath after having the wind knocked out of him. (Y/N) knew she didn’t have much time before he recovered, so she quickly positioned her fingers to trap him.
Bakugo coughed as he rolled over to sit up. But as soon as he rolled onto his back, what looked like 10 long spikes stabbed around him at different angles and pinning his arms and upper body to the ground.
(Y/N) was ecstatic, she had him pinned with her fingernails now. She could hardly believe it, was this actually a victory!? She reveled in the moment briefly, then turned to her captive. “Ready to surrender?” She asked.
“Like hell!” He spat. A massive explosion seemed to erupt from his entire upper body, blasting (Y/N) back across the courtyard.
She skidded to a halt on the ground, ears ringing from the blast and eyes unfocused. As her senses recovered she looked around, seeing her long fingernails still in tact she reasoned he must have simply dislodged them from the ground. She then looked up to see if she could locate her opponent.
Her eyes were greeted by an angry Bakugo charging at her, preparing to blast her in the face. “Now die!!!!!!” He yelled.
(Y/N) didn’t have enough time to react, only to hide behind her hair and hands. But to her surprise, she didn’t feel the blast, only Bakugo’s hand colliding with her makeshift shield.
“The fuck?” Bakugo murmured, turning his head.
“That’s enough.” A tired voice groaned. (Y/N) met eyes with the man walking towards them. He was tall and dressed in black with a white scarf. His glare was unwavering, directed at both of them, and every second it was focused on her she felt weaker. “Both of you, principal’s office, now.”
“Ye-yes sir.” (Y/N) stammered getting to her feet.
“Yeah, whatever.” Bakugo grumbled, clearly more upset than he was acting.

(Y/N) fidgeted in her seat nervously, eyes focused on her lap. She sat next to Bakugo in principle Nezu’s office. Bakugo seemed more relaxed and irritated in contrast to her anxious demeanor.
“So…” The rodent before them spoke. “What happened?”
“We had a fight.” Bakugo grunted.
“Obviously” Nezu retorted. “What I wanted to know is who started it.”
(Y/N) wasn’t sure what to do, should she tell the truth? Or would that get Bakugo in trouble? He may have attacked her, but he also gave her more confidence than she had ever had. And, despite all the craziness of this afternoon, she still liked him. “I-”
Bakugo extended a hand in front of her. “Me.” They made eye contact briefly, causing her to blush and look away.
“I figured as much. Would you care to explain why?” Nezu asked, shuffling some paperwork on his desk. After receiving no response he continued. “(Y/N): quirk: mega-keratin, first year in general studies. No record thus far, so I’ll let you off with a warning. You may go, stop by the nurse’s office before returning to the dorm, and please refrain from brawling again.”
“Yes sir.” She said, then got up and left, stealing one more glance at the young hero before disappearing out the door.

“Katsuki Bakugo, quirk: explosion. Second year in the hero course, you already have brawling, breaking curfew, and trespassing on your record. I’m afraid I can’t overlook you starting another fight. Are you sure you don’t have and explanation?” Nezu asked him.
“I don’t.” Bakugo sighed. “I felt like I was in a haze, I just knew I was supposed to fight her. By the time I realized what I was doing it had already started. It’s not like I could back down from a fight.” He shrugged as he finished.
“Interesting.” Nezu commented, pulling more paperwork. “On another note, what did you think of her?”
“W- what??” Bakugo blushed when this question was asked, then glared in a different direction.
“Her potential.” Nezu explained. “Is she strong?”
Bakugo regained his composure. “She’s no slouch. Her quirk has a lot of defensive power, and she wasn’t bad at attacking with it either. Of course, it’s not like she was a challenge for me.” He said the last part with inflated confidence, trying to keep up his persona.
“Yes, interesting. Do you think she would fit in hero course?” Nezu asked.
“Yeah, sure.” He responded, trying to sound indifferent. “You moving her?”
“What I can say is that several teachers were impressed with her potential. We’ll have to see how she does in the sports festival.” Nezu replied. “And if she even wants to move.”
Bakugo saw the opportunity and took it. “I heard her friend murmur something about her wanting to join. She’d probably accept. She’s stronger than some of the other losers in hero course.”
“I’ll keep that in mind.” Nezu said, closing all of his files. “Now, for your punishment. Two weeks of detention with Aizawa. You will start this afternoon, report to his office now. You are dismissed.”
“Whatever.” Bakugo groaned, getting up and walking out.
“So, how’d it go?” Shinso asked. He had been waiting a ways outside the door.
Bakugo didn’t answer, just kept walking.
“Sounds like you did your job. Planted the seed at least.” He continued, following Bakugo down the hall. “What I want to know is why you went through with it. Kirishima broke my hold on you, so why did you go through with it? Why did you help her?”
Bakugo kept ignoring Shinso, trying to contain his temper so he wouldn’t get caught again. He wasn’t going to let a little crush and an annoying classmate ruin him.
“Could it be that you like her?” Shinso prodded, getting on Bakugo’s last nerve. He turned to look at Shinso with rage in his eyes.

A loud crashing sound caught the attention of the teachers in the lounge, causing them to rush into the hall.
Cementos emerged first, seeing a student crumpled on the floor, steaming and surrounded by charred ground. He rushed forward, stopping at his side. “Shinso?” He asked, he then looked down the hall, seeing Bakugo casually disappearing down the hall. He was about to shout at him, but a small paw rested on his arm and pulling his attention.
“Let him go.” Said Nezu. “I have a feeling this was justified.” He then approached Shinso, resting a paw on his wrist. “Will someone please fetch Recovery Girl? It seems young Bakugo was particularly riled up over something.”
“Yes sir.” Cementos ran off. Then the remaining teachers began to disperse. Leaving Nezu chuckling lightly next to Shinso.
“Seems your antics upset him.” Nezu commented as Shinso came to. “Though you did have it coming.”
