Gig report! Compiled this morning in the car to Antwerp with help form @zadig-fate and @yoda-bor 💛 I recorded everything except Katrina (bc my camera app crashed in the middle), so I'll upload this once I'm at a place with stable wifi again :D

all my buses were delayed so I power walked to the train station. Then that train was delayed so I almost missed my Eurostar. Then my Eurostar was also delayed. "That's what I call a Deutsche Bahn special, actually." – Kris ("when your first train is late but then it's okay because the second train is also delayed")

so many people I knew in the queue. From Helsinki. From London last year. From Utrecht. 😊💛

when I grabbed my number, Jan and Nace returned to the venue (and they were so pretty in daylight and in person)

their postures??? Nace has definitely worked on his posture, meanwhile Jan appears so slim and small. It's wild.

Jan and Jure returned to the venue together, looking… Pissed is too harsh a word, but frowning? So we first kinda thought they were actually pissed off. But then Nace showed up a minute later, his usual sunny self, and was immediately accosted by fans. So. I assume it was less "pissed off" and more "do not approach" (and it worked)

soundcheck was Gola and Vem da greš, which we could hear every time they opened the doors (this was my last general access gig. It's EA from here on out, baby!)

Kris and I had decided to go on the balcony and got spots right next to the sound booth, where we were joined by @thisismyobsessionnow 🫶

it was warm but the sound was really good (duh)

also we had nice cushy seats like the old people we are 😂

first opener was a duo of brothers made up of discount Jure and Käärijä if he was French. Discount!Jure had a nice chest (Jure at home)

Kris says they spoke french but I spent most of their set on tumblr/discord so I wasn't listening, but it was a Choice since pretty much none from the EA crowd spoke French

speaking of EA, there were allegedly 60 EA tickets though I saw numbers up to 62 (500 people venue)

JC Stewart was fun

he was told he looked French prime minister. He got confused by president vs prime minister but he also got kinda flustered. He was shown a pic and was "oh yeah, I see it"

the venue was super hot so I tried to appreciate the fit while he had it on in full – white buttoned shirt with a sweater vest over it and a proper tie and glasses, going for the full teacher look except hot???

Bojan was smiley and sounded way less congested than in Utrecht (maybe he's on the mend?)

And Kris next to me went "I'm the problem, it's me," and literally on the last syllable, Bojan started saying the exact same thing. One brain cell. Or maybe he has the stream on his in-ears

One of the topics for this episode was "Measures against the rainy season". Here's my favourite umbrella which I talked about in the podcast☂️💕It's very cute. I want to use it a lot during the upcoming rainy season🙄Someone mentioned in their message that "the air pressure during the rainy season is tough." I feel the same. During this time of year, the air pressure and humidity are likely to make you lose your energy. Don't forget to stay hydrated and it's best to do some light exercises to get through the rainy season in good health! 🥺

And since it is also Father's Day, I wanted everyone submit "Stories about your father" as a second topic for the podcast. By the way, I had completely forgotten, but my father was really into magic 😅He liked to do magic tricks with cars ♧♤♡♢Here is his very own card set. He would always bring out playing cards and perform some tricks wherever he was. He would even do little performances in front of my friends 😂He never let me in on the mechanics behind his tricks but he was definitely really good. Now I really want to see my dad's magic again 😊One day when I get to see him again, I'll ask him to show me~💫

Now, I would like to talk some more about my trip to Yokosuka‼️⛱🏄🌊I already talked about it in my podcast so in this blog post I want to share some photos from the first big part of my trip when I visited the "Toshio Suzuki and Ghibli Exhibition" held at Yokosuka Museum of Art! (I'll post about my experience in Sarushima=Monkey Island in a few days!!) Speaking of Ghibli, some people were curious if I had gone to the Ghibli exhibition so yes, you finally have your answer😊 You are greeted by Chihiro at the entrance. My excitement skyrocketed right from the start😊The curtain leads to an exhibition of 8,800 books displayed in a huge bookshelf. Each book is believed to have influenced Suzuki in some way. Another source of inspiration is his collection of movies which contains a whopping 10,000 films. I was surprised at the number of movies, he must have absorbed so much information from all these works. I want to become a part of the Suzuki family. It's cut off, but at the top of the photo there is Teto's beautifully drawn paw. I also really liked the drawing at the bottom center signed with "Miya-SAN on the Cliff by the Sea". Then I I met Totoro and his friends surrounded by a starry sky♡ I should have taken this photo with an umbrella~😭Here I am looking up at The Bathhouse with Chihiro. While I was there, I imagined Haku getting mad at me and telling me to get back right away because I shouldn't have come! Next I got myself one of Yubaba's fortune telling slips. What an impact😂 You pull out a numbered tag from Yubaba's mouth and then take your fortune slip from the drawer according to the number. It looked like I was trying to floss Yubaba's teeth. I got a half-blessing related to tidying up and becoming clutter-free. Last but not least, I enjoyed the wide and open sky on the rooftop 😂

This time, I bought a file, a letter set, a keychain, and postcards at the souvenir shop 😊 I love the keychain of San's mask😍 I will send one of these postcards to everyone whose messages I've read during the podcast😊 ...And with that my Ghibli story comes to an end. Or not!! Actually, my Ghibli adventure isn't over yet😇 I still have a few Ghibli photos and stories left so I will post a Part 2 some time soon!! I also have a story about a crazy stamp rally that felt like a sports competition😂

Elise's themes & leitmotifs

Hellooo, I haven't posted in a while. Thought I'd do an analysis of Elise's themes, just because. This was also partly an excuse to compile all of her themes in a single post.

"Running Through the Plains" is the first time we hear the leitmotif of Elise's main theme, "My Destiny". It plays briefly when Elise touches a butterfly that landed on Sonic's nose, then builds up again when Sonic and Elise run together ~ 😊 With the way the leitmotif starts off quiet, but becomes bold near the end, I feel like this song symbolizes the start of Elise's growth.

"In the Forest" is the second time we hear this leitmotif, but now it's more prominent throughout the whole song. One thing I like about this song is that it starts off bold and magical, but ends on a more quiet and sad note. The exact opposite of Running Through the Plains. In the Forest plays during the cutscene where Sonic takes Elise to see blossoming flowers. There, Elise reflects on her adventure with Sonic and how much fun she's had despite her initial fear. However, she knows that Sonic must leave after he defeats Eggman. It's something that Elise accepts, but the thought of losing her only friend almost brings her to tears.

"Elise Goes Alone" mostly has Eggman's leitmotif, with Elise's leitmotif only coming in at the halfway point. I believe this signifies Elise becoming more confident. Eggman doesn't kidnap Elise here, but she sacrifices herself to protect her kingdom. Other than that, I don't have much to say about this song (it's good though).

Near the end of the game, we have "Just Smile". To save the world, Elise just has to blow out Solaris' flame. However, this would erase the timeline, meaning her and Sonic will never meet. She understandably agonizes over this before regaining her composure shortly after and blowing out the flame once she remembered Sonic's words. The song does a wonderful job of conveying this: Starting soft as Elise prepares to blow out the flame, getting louder when she realizes that they won't remember each other once it's over, reaching the climax when she breaks down, and ending on the same soft note as she comes to terms with it.

Lastly, we have Elise's main theme, "My Destiny". I couldn't upload the audio file because it was too big, so I'll have to insert a video here. My Destiny is the culmination of Elise's character arc. It's a song about love, hope, and remembrance. One line I like in particular is "You've taught me that life can be revived". This obviously refers to how Elise revived Sonic with her love, but I think it goes deeper than that. Before her adventure with Sonic, Elise led a rather lonely life. She wasn't truly experiencing the world, instead being restricted by her role as the Ruler of Soleanna. Then Sonic came along and made her feel more alive and free than she'd had in years. In a way, Sonic revived Elise's life with his love.

I think Elise has the best themes in the Sonic series. Not only are the orchestral instruments of her themes unique for the series, they also contain a lot of leitmotifs, which is something I absolutely love. When I listen to her themes, I'm filled with a sense of nostalgic melancholy. I'm reminded of happy memories from my childhood, but I also feel sadness because those days have long since passed. I did a little searching and found that this feeling is called saudade. Here is the definition:

This perfectly encapsulates Sonic and Elise's relationship. They were happy, but eventually they had to say goodbye. And even though they forgot about each other in the end, the happiness they shared remains in their hearts.

Well, now I'm kinda bummed out.

..Sega, please bring Elise back. I need new content. I'm starving...

Okay now I know I did one not too long ago, and they're definitely still on my radar to have fun with starting next month, and will likely keep me busy through the summer (though I did also get a few things already checked off ~ more of that below the cut if you'd like to see 😘). But here's some recently added things in the last month 🤗

I touched on it briefly in the linked post but now that I've gotten to see the summaries for the @iwtvbigbang I can honestly say I am so pumped to hopefully make art for two, if not three fics 👀

And though I was sort of like, hmmmm, can I squeeze in one more fandom event? I can do art with a much quicker turn around than writing, so I did sign up for the @ofmd-reverse-bang and already finished one piece and almost done with a second 🤗

And I'm definitely signing up for the @fandomtrumpshate event - though I'm still debating if I want to offer both writing and art, or just art.

Lastly, I posted this idea on twitter and @you-came-back was curious about me writing it and I basically was like, "Shall I? 😎 I shallllll."

Here's an update, I promise I am alive!!!

I actually just got done playing Resident Evil 4 Remake, as well as replaying Village for a 4th time to work out some more details for Metalworks!

- RE4R was AWESOME, and it's officially the second RE game I've finished!!! I really loved it even though I did need some help from friends, and I do plan on eventually playing the other games as well! 😊💙 My favorite character was Luis, and yes I shot Krouser in the face with a rocket launcher. If you know, you know.

- Despite it being my 4th playthrough of Village(which I hopped into last night immediately after finishing 4R), I actually noticed a few things I hadn't before, specifically in Donnas section, which of course led into a few new headcanons both for Donnas part AND Karls(mostly Emelia), and even RE8!Mica thanks to Donna. I actually took a bunch of screenshots when playing as well, because I have... plans. 👀 Screenshot 'rendering' plans, like the one I did a while ago for Emelia. 👀👀👀

- This requires its own section because I'm including pictures, BUT- I also took the chance while going through the factory to write out some details about Emelias part of the game!

I've been meaning to write it out with a bit more detail, and I'm actually ADDING detail to it to flesh it out a bit more; but once the initial meeting in the Foundry is fleshed out, y'all are getting a Metalworks Main Timeline story for the first time in fucking forever. I'll *eventually* work out the meeting in the Survival AU, because there are some massive differences (other than the obvious). But I worked through the initial meeting as well as placement and all (done while looking around the room in game and all), and a nice chunk for what would be her Mini-Boss fight. What I DONT have is, obviously, the inclusion of items and all you'd be able to pick up for the fight, or the placement of her own 'diary' except for the very last page you find. I ALSO didn't include the part with selling the crystals to Duke which I just noticed, but I'll add that in later!

I dont think I'll play Shadows of Rose again immediately since it's also pretty fresh in my brain, and its easier to watch a playthrough since it's a simple layout/story instead of 'so much detail that a YouTuber would typically skip over but I need'. I'll work more on that at a later time when I'm farther into the Survival AU and get done alot of other things I want to do!

**If I DO write fully for the DLC, it will most likely be, like, 2 stories. One for her meeting Rose and another for when they beat Miranda again. There isn't too much in between.

But... yeah!! There's my massive text wall update.

Uploading to Instagram has been paused for a bit and I've been suffering through a depressingly large bour of art block(and probably impostor syndrome), hence why I played Village. It definitely helped, and I have a bunch of ideas for warm up before other big things.

Dear Mother is one of those things, as I've been stuck in the middle of the sketch because I hit a blank when halfway done. 🙃 BUT I'm gonna do a few things beforehand while hopefully chipping away at it, and once I get over the little speed bump of a panel I should be good!

I hope yall are as excited as I am, I'm really hoping that my brain works out fully to actually do everything I want. Its been a cycle of 'on and off again' for a good few weeks... hence why I took a break to play Resi. I figured it might help me clear my head a little and give some new ideas.

You know what? I saw your reply on the post that mostly readers can either be good at reading for themselves or for others and I am the latter one 😭 I can say I am BAD at doing readings for myself 😭

My emotions are strong, strong enough to affect the results 🥹🥹

It suckssss, so I avoid doing readings for myself but I think one card for a day won't come wrong. And maybe that way I can improve in doing readings for myself, not much, but definitely basic ones!

But, on the contrary, I believe I am fine with and at doing readings of others, even if I take ample time.

Yes, it's really very spread thing among tarot readers that you are good at only at one of the types of readings but usually not in both. There are gifted individuals, who are fantastic doing both but I'm not one of them. 😂

Emotions and expectations are the worst enemies when doing readings for yourself. I often misinterpret the cards I have pulled for myself simply because I want to see something in them, I start the reading with an idea how the answer should look like. I try to approach readings for myself with open mind but I'm only a human and often fail.

However, daily pulls are actually great to improve this because if you pull one or two cards in the morning, there's not that much you can mess up with. Also! It's pretty useful to actully do an evening recap. Come back to what you have noted down in the morning and see what actually turned out to be accurate and what you possibly didn't get right. That way, I have learned a lot myself. 😁

AND!

Hate to do a self-promotio but maybe it's going to be helpful. I have used this experience to assemple a 365 (+1) pages tarot journal for daily pulls for the entire year. I have uploaded it to Amazon KDP today and it will probably take them like 3 days to make it available for purchase but once it's out, I'll share the link here so you can check the journal out. If you don't buy it, you can at least find inspiration on how make notes. 😊 Or you can actually purchase it on Amazon and get a physical copy of a nice and simple to work with tarot journal. 😂

And maybe you could include links to mods you use to make gameplay more realistic? I wanna do the decades challenge so bad but I get discouraged cuz it's hard to start from scratch. Not a pipe dream at all! I was actually working on exactly this this summer before my laptop died. I've been taking a break from sims since then for a couple reasons:

a) my laptop died and my partner and I decided to build a PC rather than replacing that, which we haven't finished yet. I could play the game on his laptop, but ...

b) I'm super busy with grad school this semester, and I also had the bright idea to move in the middle of the semester. So I have been swamped and haven't had enough time to think about setting up and playing sims again.

However! As a grad student I get breaks, and I fully intend to get my game set up during my winter break (mid December to mid January). I'm hopeful I might have the save file done during that time period, but once it's set up I should be able to play into my spring semester too.

I'm really glad you thought of me for this and I'm sorry I don't have one for you yet, I absolutely understand feeling overwhelmed. When I started playing historically I kept redoing my saves because I always wanted them to be a perfect start and I would find new cc or something that felt necessary. Now I'm so attached to mine I'll just roll with it, but I totally get that!

If you get bored waiting for me, I will say that if you download all my uploaded builds into Brindleton Bay, that's definitely a start to a historical save and I have lots of great cc reblogged here for each decade, so you could just go to the 1890s tag. But I also plan to have this done sometime soon, so you're welcome to wait too!

1. I've been estimating this question with even myself as to exactly HOW LONG I've been into this show! And it all chocked up to a random memory I had in passing: I remember watching the opening with my baby cousins back in '03 when they were being babysitted! So way way back then 💀 ancient times

2. As for drawing: I've mostly started with random stick figure doodles in printer paper flipbooks, in which evolved into crude/traced attempts-at-art in one of my 'how to' guidebooks that I get at my local craft store! (This was in the span of times of '03-'06 if I can give an estimate)✨️then I decided one day I wanted to be more serious w the craft and started ACTUALLY free handing pics from magazines/Google images/and said tutorial books from before--even if they still seemed very crude ('07-'09)✨️THEN I tried searching for a specific style (before I figured out it didn't rly matter pfft) and drew from my mind/conjured up design features from varied media I was into at the time! ('10-'13)✨️ And after that, I went full digital and had YEARS of practicing with plethoras of tutorials along with attending art classes which REALLY helped out a whole bunch.. ('14-'17) ✨️ and now that I'm out of school basically, I'm just here practicing and drawing at my leisure! But I hope to use my knowledge in art with the degree I have + years of (self taught) practice 🎉🎉

3. Oh GOSH,, I can say with confidence that my faves have fluctuated over the YEARS, and have been all over the place, so I'll break it into two categories: children/adults

Children- basically LOVED the elementals such as Zk and Pierre (the obvious pick), but some others include megawatt, electricity, and non-elements like La Pinata and ( in more recent years) French Twist!

Adults- Basically love the adults NOW more than I do the students, and I would consider them to be underrated characters that TOO can be rich with potential backstory development 💕

Some include Perro Salvaje, La Pared, and Rey Dinamico (I understand he's based on mysterio BUT-- he definitely has potential!!) Some MORE obscure pics would be a great handful of the parents, Hot Chocolate/Marshmallow, Hula Hattie, and the adult insectos!

4. I have a FEW in the works currently! (Most of which I'm holding off until after I move at the end of this month👍) But the one (or TWO) anniversary pics I'm aiming for will most likely be uploaded in September :"] a little inconvenient but it is what it is I suppose!

By the way, I recently got in the mood for Valentine's Day and bought my favourite Lindt chocolate 😊 Lindt is probably most well-know for their Lindor round chocolate! ! The first time I saw them was when I went to New York! ! I received this cute round candy-like thing at the entrance of the store, and when I ate it, it was so delicious...😆 Up until that point I hadn't been a huge fan of sweets but Lindt changed my mind! (I like the milk and white chocolate one with chocolate chips in it. The salted caramel one is delicious too! Also, the newly released matcha tea one! LOL) And these thin bars of chocolate are absolutely delicious too😳💕 I will sometimes have a glass of wine and some dried fruits with it, it's like I am in a dreamland😳💕 Of course it also goes well with coffee ♡ By the way, I always keep some bite-sized chocolates on hand for my morning coffee time. Meiji's matcha and strawberry chocolates are delicious (^^) I somehow ended up buying Kiss Chocolate when I went shopping a while back *laughs*. I like white chocolate and chocolate chips (^^)

There is a chocolate other than Lindt that I love, I received it from a fan a long time ago and fell in love with it, so much so that I ordered it myself the following year! But...I can't remember the name anymore😂😂 I am always looking through the department store's Valentine's Day special online store and hope I can recall what the packaging looked like! *laughs* I'm pretty sure it might have been a German chocolate, or maybe not...?🤔
