i've got no real opinion on ufo/uap phenomenon and whether they're Really military or Really aliens, but it does strike me how endlessly funny and futile trying to "prove" anything is, no matter the time period.
past "evidence": it's too grainy, it's too blurry, it's too smudgy, it was filmed on a potato, you can't see anything, it's on a string, it's a hoax, it's an optical illusion, it's just flares
current "evidence": it's Too clear, it's Too crisp, it's Too detailed, it isn't detailed Enough, it's cgi, it's digital effects, it's photoshop, it's ai, it's too convenient, it's a Drone
no matter the method you use to capture whatever it is you Think you might be seeing, you just can't win lol.
#i just love‚ growing up it was always 'well if people have camera phones why don't they just take a picture of it?'#when 1) older camera phones had Terrible just Awful quality. especially for objects taken at a distance#and 2) smartphone cameras with sharper quality can now just easily get written off as 'you edited it' lmao like#you lose either way! the doubt transcends both time and technology and i think that's beautiful#of course it does suck for the people who know that they Saw Some Shit but have no way to prove it (or their proof is dismissed)#no wonder some ufo enthusiasts seem to go crazy. they're on a fruitless pursuit to prove that they're not#idk why i'm thinking about ufos rn lol just one of those nights#ufo#rambles
