Imagine an au where the blacks win the war/end the succession battle on top, etc. Now, what if Alicent and Viserys had another daughter as sweet as Helaena, but with a secret temper to match her twin Aemonds, plus she takes after Alicent more in looks. Imagine she was offered a choice by her elder half-sister to pick a lord that was loyal to Rhaenyra to marry, to ensure her loyalty, and ensure another succession crisis doesn't arise so soon. What if she baffles EVERYONE when she doesn't choose Cregan Stark, or a Celtigar son, or Lord Tully or Blackwood, but instead she offers herself to her dear cousin Rhaenys? The sea is a tempting freedom from the chains of growing up sheltered by the hightowers in King's Landing and Oldtown.... And surely Rhaenys and Lord Corlys need more heirs now...

Lan and Moiraine’s bond/friendship in the scenes we’ve seen, where you can TELL they’re BFFs and platonic life partners who have seen everything about the other person (she’s a hardass, he’s a sometimes himbo) and they’re still both like…”that’s my person”

Lan whining about the water temperature in THE BATH SCENE like “Mo, come on and heat up this water a tick plz” (ModernDay!Lan would call her Mo...at least in his head, haha)

Lan rushing to Moiraine’s side to protect her when the rubble falls + checking on her when she spends her energy helping the kids/horses keep their strength up + the little top of the head touches when he checks on her + the silent understanding when she has to hide her ring

but I'd be lying if this wasn't one of my favorite scenes which was written solely for the adaptation, to show the non-sexual intimacy between Aes Sedai and their Warder. Platonic Life Partner Bestie status.

and we get a classic "Henney brow arch"™ iykyk #Team Henney

pacing is as good as can be expected, given how much material is in the books and how many books there are in the series. I've already watched the current episodes at least twice, and I'll probably end up watching them again before the next episode drops on Friday. I love fantasy shows of this nature, so I'm cautiously optimistic the rest of the season will keep us glued to our seats. It's exciting to know they're already working on season 2 AND it's already been renewed for a 3rd season.
