Men and the "perfect" woman
It's really disgusting to watch men ( online and real life ) talk about what a woman has to look like. Not too tall, but not too short either, beautiful without heaps of make-up, breast cup B-D because A is too flat and everything over D is too much, dressing up for them because they don't look sexy enough in comfy clothes, high-heels are a must, no cellulite or stretchmarks because that's ugly, flat stomach, perfect butt and long legs, tan of course and nipples in the right size and colour ( yes, I've actually come across bullshit like that ). Now we could say, okay, that's personal preference, but especially those guys who pretty much want a devoted super-model continue to diss every woman who doesn't meet their standards. Short and big boobs? Gheez, running dwarfs with mega udders. Large nipples? Eew, grotesque. Hanging boobs? Haha, looks like an old hag, no thanks. Cellulite? So disgusting, probably doesn't work out enough. When talking about the "perfect" woman those essays are usually about their looks, because who cares about personality as long as she doesn't cause too much drama and doesn't run off with other men? Now that made me ponder how men would react if women started treating them as superficially as they do vice versa. Beard? Only if you have the face and hair for it, otherwise big no, it will just make you look like a hairy toddler or a Neandertal. A thin beard just makes you look pathetic. Trained body? Yes, but without going to the gymn every day because that's annoying, and no exaggerated muscles, no one wants the Hulk as boyfriend. And don't miss leg day, the muscles on your body have to look consistent. Skin not too pale but not too tan either, please. Has to be a head taller than the woman, we don't want a Hobbit walking by our sides. Hairy body? Eeew, no, that's disgusting, dating a man, not an ape. And don't you dare to wear your oversized hoodies and ancient jeans, keep an eye on the latest fashion and dress up accordingly. Flat butt and no Marvel-superhero upper arms? Off with you to the gymn, but be back in time for us to go shopping! If women started being more condescending like this towards equally superficial men, giving them a bit of their own medicine, I'm pretty sure those would be the first ones to snap and freak out , probably get violent, because their fragile male ego got a scratch and can't handle that. The ego that is so huge that even a 300 pound hairy and sweaty guy or a 35-year old scruffy nerd, who still lives at his parents' basement, thinks they can demand a supermodel as girlfriend, but the moment someone criticizes their own insufficiencies they crumble like a dried-out cookie. Men who can't deal with any kind of criticism aimed towards themselves should quit talking about what a woman "has" to look like as if we were only a piece of aesthetic meat. Not all of us have a skinny body, not all of us have full hair and good looks, perfect perky boobs or smooth cellulite-less butts. Most of the time, we KNOW about our flaws, because we are women and get confronted with what we are expected to look like daily. But it still hurts to hear how we are ugly, disgusting, unsexy or grotesque just because we are not perfect. Dear guys, no one is perfect. Not us, not you. If you are a superficial asshole who makes fun of women for not meeting your beauty standards you are in fact far from being perfect yourself. So stop making demands.
