Made a mistake and read the notes so, as one of the many military brats here, let me explain why the Wonderbolts are very clearly a military unit (just for the shits and giggles)

The Blue Angels are a stunt team that is funded/operated by the US American military. They are the jets you tend to see flyover major sports events (or if you have the brass/connections, you get them for your podunk county airshow [my dad was a Presidential Helicopter Squadron Crew chief] much to the delight of everyone wearing earplugs)

The US American Military runs not just The Blue Angels tho, they have a basketball team, football team and a full marching band for every branch in addition to several other performance teams (the most famous internationally is still the USMC Drill line, I have too many Marines in my family if I don't say this they'll accuse me of looking bad in front of the Army)

All of these front facing propaganda teams are in addition to the US American Military's MASSIVE spending on sports sponsorships, movie production and Weird Recruiters Embedding in YOUR local high school. They attempt to make the military Look Cool and they work VERY hard at it. The NCOs who play military band are often directly recruited solely to serve in the band.

The Wonderbolts of course, do stunt flying. And at least in the USA, stunt flying is almost entirely performed by: white millionaires with more money than sense and The US Military. That's it. So, for the Wonderbolts it's quite clear that they are a reference for The Blue Angels and thus unfortunately, have probably dropped a bomb on an Equestria Territory at some point or another
