my local gp is only offering telephone appointments atm + the only way to book is to call them, which means that since I'm deaf I have to get my mum to book me appointments + she has to be there on the call with me. which is fine until ur trying to talk to the gp abt ur current mental health + ur mother is like nooo my daughter has never been depressed or anxious ever in her life shes so happy 🥰 and won't give u the opportunity to refute it 🙃

#the last decade of depression leaving my body when my mum says it doesnt exist #tbf shes right at least that i dont have anxiety.#i appreciate having her there bc she can hear things i miss. also sometimes i freeze up a bit + shes a good advocate #but it makes things difficult when im trying to talk abt smth personal.#whatever. the appointment wasnt abt me being depressed anyway it was just to ask abt the adhd referral process + for stress advice #its just. really frustrating + makes me feel like my struggles arent valid bc theyre not explicitly visible to other ppl.#.vent
