I maintain that we shouldn’t be playing timber out of position in matches like this…when teams are going to stay super organized, sit deep, and hope for a breakaway goal, our attack is INCREDIBLY reliant on overloads and runs from our fullbacks to make any sort of space for our attackers to work with. timber is an incredible player, but he can’t offer the same offensive help when we play him on the left and so we basically lose an attacking player. fulham only had TWO shots (one leading to a goal 😒)…..I think we do enough defensive work just by keeping possession of the ball to allow for a different left back to come on so that timber can play in his best position.
