This is unlikely and I don't expect it to happen, but just as a treat:
Have we thought of the idea that Katsuki would stubbornly continue to try rehab on his right arm/hand, like he told the doctor?
And what if the first thing he does to demonstrate his progress to Izuku is to take/hold his hand??
He is still shaky and he can't squeeze Izuku's hand very much, but a gentle grasp is all it takes.
I can just imagine the warm smiles and laughter between the two of them as they hold hands.

[BKDK] Izuku keeps mentioning a Kacchan to reporters and they think that's his gf
this was a request on twt that i had way too much fun writing. warning for suggestive language!
--
“And is there…. a special person….or a group of people you would like to thank on air today? Anyone who inspired you? Anyone you would attribute your success to? An image of victory per say?”
Izuku’s eyes glimmer as the bright lights of the studio reflect on his irises. “Oh!” He jumps in his seat, his perfectly- coiffed curls bouncing as he nods frantically to the show’s host. “Yes! Yes!” Leaning forward with his hands on his leg, the camera zooms in on his face where the blush is painting his cheeks. “I wouldn’t be the hero I am today if it wasn’t for Kacchan!”
And it’s as if an earthquake alert dropped on the talk show. The host grows this devious grin on his face as he turns to the camera team and says, “Well, well, well, behind every great man is a woman after all.”
Izuku isn’t quite sure why the host is bringing his mother into this since the interview is reaching its end and he has already discussed her influence in detail very early on, but he doesn’t get a chance to ponder.
The host, Yamaguchi-san, leans into Izuku’s space with renowned interest and an interesting glint in his eyes. Izuku feels himself sweating in his oversized maroon-striped suit.
“So, Midoriya-san, Hero Deku, Rising Symbol of Equity and Hope, can you tell us more about … Kacchan?” His voice goes higher at the last syllable, almost sing songs, and Izuku is not sure if he should be worried or not, but he won’t pass an opportunity to gush about Kacchan!
“Ah, Kacchan is very … confident, hardworking, strong, and smart. Kacchan is a hero who knows how to lead a team and perform under pressure, an inspiration to both myself and our entire graduating class, and a”—Izuku can feel the heat rise in his face as he tries to hide in his colour— “a shining star who was closer to me than All Might!”
The host makes a loud ‘AWWW’ noise at the same time as the small audience in the studio. “My, my! Sounds like Kacchan is very important to Hero Deku! Don’t be shy! Tell us more! Is there a physical description to go with your precious person?”
“Ahm!” Izuku fiddles with his fingers as he avoids the gazes on him. There a long beat of silence before he manages to say, “Muscles….Blonde…..Sharp eyes….” With a vague gesture to his middle section, he mumbles, barely audible, “Big, ugh…..” Heart.
“OOOOOOOOOH!” The host goes wild and so does the audience. “So are we talking Hiromi Oshima type big or maybe Rio Natsume, or aaaah Aki Hoshino even ….?”
Izuku feels his ears ring in humiliation as he tries to process what they’re talking about. Something Kacchan has in common with all these beautiful women is his big successful career so Izuku nods. “Yes!” Then, a thought occurs and he rises in his chair. “Even bigger!”
After all, Kacchan’s net worth is higher than these ladies.
“BIGGER?”
“The biggest!”
“Oh my god!” The host is losing his mind now! “And is it … natural? Or did Kacchan get a little help from professionals?”
“No, no, no! Kacchan was a natural ever since we were in school together!” Izuku’s eyes shine with a fire to defend his childhood best friend, no longer trying to hide in his big suit. “No one helped Kacchan get this big!”
“That’s … amazing!” The host shakes his head in both awe and disbelief. “Now we want to see Kacchan in action! When the hero works around the city, defeating villains, does the size get in the way?”
Does Kacchan’s fame get in the way of his work? “Sometimes,” Izuku muses, “But Kacchan never lets the restless and perky nuisances stop him, y’know. With a little shake from his hands, and a few colourful words of wisdoms, nothing gets in the way!” Izuku laughs as he remembers Kacchan’s way of dismissing fans and reporters alike.
“Wow!”
“Of course, there are times where Kacchan’s big firm moulds become springy and hard to control, but I have yet to see an instance where that has been a major issue. ”
Kacchan is still having some adjustment problems with his new hero costume, particularly his grenade mould, but that’s as far as distractions go.
“Does Kacchan not use support?”
“Uhm, only when it’s a dire situation! Sometimes I’m even allowed to provide assistance!”
“You must be very lucky…”
“I am! It feels … exciting and … very special! Kacchan doesn’t trust just anyone, y’know! I can never quite get used to the trust we built together. We are one unit working together.”
“Do you use your hands…. Or something else?”
“Oh, hands! Yes! But anything works really! Whatever Kacchan is comfortable with and needs at the time. Black Whip, combo moves, an iron grip...”
The host furrow his brows and seems to be considering Izuku’s answer before he opens his mouth again. “Uhm, never mind.” He then turns to the camera, smile back on. “Our time is almost running out! Thank you, hero Deku for your time! We look forward to seeing you again in the big screen!”
--
The next day, Izuku wakes up to the headline: Hero Deku And His Mysterious Busty New Girlfriend: The Beautiful and Spunky Kacchan!
He’s doomed
--
He sees Kacchan early the next day.
Having spent the morning talking to tabloids and the host show agents about the misunderstanding and whether or not it was possible to take down the episode at least, Izuku slumps his head on his desk in defeat.
Oh, this is very bad.
He starts thumping his forehead on the wood in sync with the bleeps noises in the phone, already planning his funeral in his head.
Okay, so it seems the suspense around this girlfriend is raking up his popularity, but god, at what cost.
“Nerd, we need to talk.”
Izuku’s soul near flies to the roof at the sound of the door to his office slamming close. Fuckfuckfuck.
Kacchan stands before him with his hand on his hip, teeth snarled and looking ready to tear his flesh open. Oh, this is going to be fun!
After flashing a haughty glare at the glass door to scare away the nosy friends hanging about, Kacchan continues, “About the interview.”
Of course! Yes! His final hour is approaching. “Haahahaha, what about it?” Izuku feels his undershirt cling to his torso, sweat collecting on his face. He directs a shaky hand to a nearby chair. “Feel free to take a seat, Kacchan! You want me to get you anything? Water, tissues, uhm, a knife, a body sized bag, or uhhh, a shovel? I think I have some spare sheets of paper if you’d like to give me a chance to—“
“So…” Kacchan starts.
“PLEASE TELL MY MUM I LOVE HER!”
“…this Kacchan, huh?” Having completely ignored every single word Izuku just said, Kacchan crosses his arms and scowls. “Is she strong? How come I never heard about her before? Since when did you start dating this gravure idol and pro hero, huh?”
“Wha—?”
“So, you just go around giving everyone pretty nicknames now?” Kacchan snorts and his expression darkens before he slams his hands on Izuku’s desk. He looks at Izuku from under his chin, and Izuku swear he can see flames behind his eyes. He growls, “What’s her actual name?”
An alarm bell rings in Izuku’s ears and he stutters, “Ka— Ka— Kat— Katsuko! Bakugan Katsuko…….”
Kacchan’s expression doesn’t change and Izuku feels his heart leap to his throat. God, Kacchan is gonna call his bluff at any minute now. He’s going to reject him then he’s going to break his heart and his bones.
“What’s she like?”
Kacchan shifts forward slightly and Izuku is just know noticing the ample cleavage in clear view. Right there. In front of Izuku’s face. “Uhm. Ah, she’s very, ugh, im- pec— impeccable!! And strong! Muscl— mature!! Breasty too – I mean, pretty! PRETTY!” Izuku bites his tongue then swallows thickly. “Beautiful, actually!” Lifting his gaze to meet Kacchan, he whispers, “Gorgeous. Just the most amazing person in my life.”
Kacchan is staring intently with his sharp red eyes, and Izuku feels his chest swell with confidence he never had before. “Kacchan is my inspiration, and I just … love … Kacchan so much. I wish I had the courage to tell him— um, her that.”
“Are you two serious?” Kacchan asks, impassive but there is silent rage hiding behind his words.
Something flashes quickly through Kacchan’s eyes before he narrows them. It takes Izuku a second to recognise that it’s /hurt/ and then he realise what he has just done.
“No, no, no!” Izuku backtracks immediately. “I don’t even know her that well! In fact, she kinda smells and definitely has sweating problem.” Izuku needs to do damage control and come clean NOW. “You know what? I will call her and break up with her right now. Ha ha ha.”
What the hell is he saying? Who is he going to call?
Kacchan stands up while Izuku fumbles with his phone. “Don’t be a dick,” he says, before he heads to the door.
Izuku jumps from his chair and is ready to chase after him when Kacchan stops him. “How big?”
“Huh?”
“You said Bakugan was big.”
Ah, yes, he did. Tragically.
“Um, y’know just…” Izuku motions with his hands like he’s moulding two doughballs, palms up and fingers wiggling because he’s lost control of his life once he accepted his funeral date, but that’s not even happening anymore so what is he doing really.
He then makes am hourglass shape in the air and belatedly realises that he’s just outlining Kacchan’s shape in front of him. Izuku retreats his hands and puts them behind his back in shame.
Kacchan is looking at him funny. Like he’s trying to figure something out.
“Does she shoot aerial bomb or something? Is that a combat-style quirk?”
Izuku blinks.
Kacchan just sneers and turns around.
“Whatever. I’m doing a photoshoot this afternoon. The Sekushī clothing line is dropping a new summer set and they asked me to model.”
“Se- Sekushi?? You mean, like—” Izuku feels his face go impossibly red. “You’re saying that, you’re going to wear, like…..” his voice goes down to a whisper when he says “…..a b-b-b-b-b-bikini?”
“Swimwear,” Kacchan turns to say over his shoulder, “Among other things.”
The sexy smirk he sends Izuku’s way is doing very, very weird things to Izuku’s body and imagination, things too inappropriate to describe in a work setting.
Kacchan leaves but not without offering the most dangerous challenge to Izuku’s mental wellbeing. “Feel free to drop in.”
Oh, he absolutely will.
“Bring Bakugon.”
Oh, he absolutely will not.
Actually….
Maybe, he will.
Kacchan is going to ruin Izuku

A post for some BAMF Izuku fics <3 (more of these will be added and the list will be updated as i read them)
Fics i've read:
The Secret Ingredient is Crime- Izuku only had a whole month to further prove himself worthy of Yuuei's golden acceptance, and he was going to do whatever it took to make it in. Yuuei would never truly know what hit them until it was too late. (The secret crime AU in it entirety is fucking amazing and what wouldn't i give to read more stuff with it)
Deku the Villain Hunter: Support Hero - We all know the story: After being told he couldn't be a Hero by All Might, Midoriya Izuku still wandered over to a supervillain attack where he could save Bakugou Katsuki. But what if he had made the other turn? The answer is a butterfly effect that would lead him on a path to paving his own future. A path of revenge, finding his own moral compass, and doing the impossible. (OKAY MANY THOUGHTS. Very cool story and aspects. I binged it overnight and lost a bit of sleep the next night as well.)
The Story of How Midoriya Izuku Asserted His Dominance (And Traumatized Japan) - The Sports Festival was supposed to be a break from stress. Shouta should have known there is no such thing as a break with his class.
making it right (for real this time) - - Izuku is a support course student at UA, and Katsuki's neighbor, best friend, and former bullying victim. After Izuku's performance at the sports festival, Katsuki realizes something. He has to make things right. -
Hero Fall (UA Civil War Exercise) - It's now the end of the first year of UA for our students. Nedzu had decided to bring back the annual Heroes vs Villain fight. The fight shall last 5 days and the villain leader is Izuku Midoriya, with the commanding officer of the hero team being Katsuki Bakugo. But, what happens when Izuku is left alone?
Hero Class Civil Warfare - Heroes lead by Bakugo. Villains lead by Midoriya. Seven days prep time. Three days for Izuku Midoriya to show why they should be glad he's not a real villain.
"I Didn't Know You Had It In You." - Midoriya goes feral rage mode in his fight against Overhaul. The beat down still happens, but with Eri no longer at his back, he gets more violent. One For All reacts in an interesting way and Midoriya commits a terrible and unheroic act - the cold blooded murder and maiming of Chisaki Kai. Shigaraki is there to watch it all unfold.
Plan C meets Plan A - Even if All Might is right and Izuku can't be a hero, Izuku refuses to be useless. So Izuku uses his analysis skills to develop Plan C: Consulting in order to help the heroes. Eraserhead is impressed by this mysterious new consultant but alarm bells in Deku's behaviour quickly have Aizawa recruiting help for Plan A: Adoption.
Q. A. B. - One month after @hawks_unofficial's initial viral post, the blog titled "Quirk Analysis Blog for the Future", otherwise known as "Q. A. B.", has gone from an average of 10 views per post to an average of 20,000 views per post. Midoriya Izuku does not know how to view the impressions analysis for his suddenly popular blog, and only notices that sometimes, people actually comment on his posts now. He does not google himself or his moniker and thus does not see the rise in online articles and speculation. He is unaware that the "kyuu-ei-bee" he begins to hear about in passing refers to his own blog. He does not have a Twitter account. At the time, Midoriya Izuku is 15 years old.
How to murder your father - It's dangerous to be a bad father when you have a life insurance. Just saying.
Negation - Passive Quirks are a bitch. Izuku is reasonably done with the situation.
Thanks For Your Support - Izuku has the talent and the intellect to be the first Quirkless pro hero, and everyone at UA knows it. Unfortunately, his desire to become a hero has long since been buried thanks to the words of his childhood friend and childhood hero.
Policed To Meet You - Izuku takes All Might's advice and becomes a cop.
Vigilante Work And Other After School Activities - Izuku is a vigilante, Aizawa likes cats and therefore kids who help cats, and sometimes breaks must be forced upon overachieving teenagers.
When the Commission Lost Total Control - The hero polls have a small part where one can suggest their own hero. This is done just because of the amount of heroes is to great to name them all. This creates a little problem for the commission because a vigilante is assumed to be a brand new hero by the public- and ranks pretty high. Because of that, this vigilante now is too popular to hide and they can't come out with their mistake either! Think of the chaos that would bring.
Izuku being Badass but like in not that grand of a way but still tearing-people-down-in-some-way kind of way
He Was Quirkless - Midoriya get's sick of discrimination against the quirkless and decides to do something about it. It leads to some interesting situations. A trilogy.
bloody, but unbowed- It's Advocacy Week for Yuuei's hero students and it gives Midoriya Izuku a lot to think about about what kind of hero he wants Deku to be.
Called Out - When Izuku is hit by a quirk that will cause him to call out the first person to be rude to him on the way to school with every mistake they've made in the affected persons presence or have otherwise effected said affected person, Aizawa is in for a rough ride. In other words, with some help from a quirk, Izuku rakes Aizawa over the hot coals until he gives out. (a great fic but i've got mixed feelings on this one because on one hand, izuku is badass but on the other its Aizawa bashing and really like him skhdskdb so yea! Read it as per your tastes!!)
The time when everyone learned that izuku respects Bakugo more than all might. - I didn't like how Bakugo was tied up during the sports festival and so izuku didn't. Badass izuku roasted all might and midnight.
Villainous Sunshine - After an innocent question, Class 1-A learns just how terrifying Izuku's analysis is. Nedzu's along for the ride.
Never understand ( and you can't ) - Midoriya is sick and tried of his classmates bias and prejudice against the quirkless community and finally breaks
Mastermind: Strategist For Hire - Izuku Midoriya never got the chance to save Bakugo from the sludge villain and impress All Might. With his dream crushed, Izuku becomes bitter and angry. It also doesn't help that he faces discrimination at every turn. All he ever wanted was to be appreciated, so when the villains are the ones to recognize his talents rather than the heroes, well, Izuku just can't resist. He might as well help those who actually want him around. Mistakes were made, and now society must face a villain of their own making: Mastermind.
Malignance - Deku is far scarier than anyone gives him credit for.
Fics in my to read list which has/probably has BAMF izuku
Young Midoriya - Izuku Midoriya couldn't help himself when he saw someone in trouble. Even at 12 years old, his instincts drive him to help those in need. So when he sees Kacchan and his goons about to ambush another student, he has to step in, right? It's not like this hasn't happened before. What is different this time though, is that he's never had an audience that consisted of the Number One Hero.
Heroics and Other Things That Don't Require Superpowers - Izuku doesn't have a quirk. That's the long and short of it. After being told his whole life he can't be a hero, General Education at UA is the best he can hope for, right? Wrong. Dead Wrong. So super wrong that his best friend from Gen Ed, all of Class 1A and a whole mess of Pro Heroes are going to prove to him how wrong he is. Izuku has the makings of a hero, and his lack of a quirk only throws those qualities into starker relief. After all, who wants to be as strong as All Might when you can be the cleverest hero in the business?
Cases of More Than - Izuku is known as Deku online. He's an analyst of quirks, sometimes even working with the local detective, Tsukauchi, on a case. He meets new friends, builds a few relationships, and slowly crushes on his best friend. But then he's thrown into the General Studies Course at U.A. It doesn't help that All for One is showing an interest in him at all.
No Regret - In this world there is no hard set villain or hero. No victim and aggressor. Everyone is at fault for something and Izuku, with his own villain group, will make everyone pay. Even the bystanders who did nothing. This is what society gets for abandoning it's people. Deku will manipulate everyone and be the greatest villain, all so the world can be a better a place. With the stakes so high there is no time for regret.
We Are a Different Kind - Mirio doesn’t think he can be a hero anymore now that he’s quirkless, Izuku calls bullshit.
Live a Hero - "You either die a hero, or you live long enough to see yourself become the villain." Or, you're raised a villain, rebel when you're nine, and fight against the odds to become a hero anyway. That's how it is in Izuku's case.
Prodigal - After being convinced to give One for All to Mirio, Midoriya Izuku must rebuild his shattered dreams with bloody hands.
Two Sides of the Same Coin: Vigilante - Izuku is orphaned at the age of four and is sent into the Japanese Foster Care System. After multiple failed attempts at finding a forever home and some unfortunate circumstance, he ends up on the streets. Eventually, the vigilante, Deku appears. Eraserhead must gain his trust to bring Deku back to the right side of the law. If he he does, however, the untrustful but pure-hearted boy may just be a bit more than Aizawa Shota can handle.
From Muddy Waters - - but the sleeve of his tracksuit was bulging, tearing and ripping and a mass of twisted flesh, nearly as big as the boy himself and nauseatingly familiar (the arm of the man that had torn a hole in his side with a grin and left him a frail shadow of himself) swung forward and slammed into the flat face of the giant robot. Izuku wants to be a hero more than anything.
Pieces are easily sacrificed when they're nameless - Nobody ever thought quirkless, weak, weird Midoriya Izuku was dangerous. This perception carried over to his first year high school class, because really despite the super strength Midoriya didn't have it in him to be dangerous. That was their first mistake. And the one that would see them fall.
Not exactly BAMF izuku but i just wanted to rec these fics <3
In the shade of a sunflower - Being biologically quirkless came more with an extra pinkie joint in the toes and a stunning lack of vestiges mutations. It came with smaller things, like extra teeth that did virtually nothing, exploding organs, and weird exposed nerves that weren't designed to feel pain.
Throat Punch - In which Aizawa attempts to teach Izuku how to use various battle tactics and it goes just about as well as you'd expect. At least Shinsou is there with his fantastic commentary. (just a fun lil thing where izuku is really stronk and trains with shinsou and aizawa)
So Be It - He could still do good. Midoriya could show them all what a hero without powers looked like. If he had to break a few rules to do it, so be it. So be it… (as stated not exactly BAMF but its a vigilante izuku so ye-)
Never Enter a Drinking Game with Bakugo or Izuku - Izuku walks in on Kirishima and Kaminari having a drinking competition (no alcohol involved). And it reminds him of an old story.
5 Times Midoriya Taught Class 1A about Memes and 1 Time they Found a Villain that Understood Them - After being diagnosed as quirkless, Midoriya gets into pre-guirk media and finds memes. He shares them with Class 1A. Aizawa doesn't get paid enough for this. (THIS FIC???? FUCKING AWESOME. LITERALLY WHAT I WANTED TO SEE)
Midoriya: JD Version - Nedzu has decided that a play should be put on so that the students can learn how to "go undercover", an idea which Aizawa thinks is utter bullshit. They're putting on Heathers and when Nedzu chooses to cast Midoriya for JD, everyone objects. Midoriya is a much better actor than they thought.
that is a lot!! I hope you have fun reading it!!!

CHAPTER 2:
The next morning, Bakugou ended up doing a lot of cursing. He had to use a shoelace to tie his pants up around his waist since, normally, he'd keep them baggy but his pants kept falling and it was getting annoying having to pull them up whenever he moved. He would've used his belt but even in the farthest hole it was still too big and it just ended up feeling bulky and uncomfortable on him. Whatever. His white button up and blazer were also a mess too. They were too big and didn't fit his new body right. Again, not like he cared. All in all, Bakugou looked sloppy and boxy in ill fitting clothes but fuck if anyone was going to give him shit for it. He did the rest of what he had to do and exited his dorm only to find Deku there waiting for him.
"Where's Kirishima?" he raised an eyebrow and Deku rubbed the back of his neck sheepishly.
"I hope you don't mind but I told him to go on ahead" he apologized and Bakugou sighed. Well, at least that was a problem he can deal with later.
"So why are you here?"
"Oh! I told Yaoyorozu-san about what happened yesterday and asked her if she can make you these! She hopes they fit since she didn't know your size" he held out a paper bag that Bakugou took after a few seconds of looking at it. "Want me to wait for you so we can go together?"
"No."
"Alright. See you in class, Kacchan!" the smaller smiled with a wave and Bakugou rolled his eyes, closing the door.
Bakugou emptied out the contents on his bed and out fell a white button up blouse, a red tie, knee high socks, a girl uniform blazer and skirt, and a simple looking white training bra. A fucking training bra. Of course Deku would go out of his way to get him these. The little nerd was always thinking about others, but damn if he was going to wear any of it. He wasn't a girl and he didn't need any of that stuff so Deku just wasted Ponytail's time asking for them.
Bakugou put everything back in the bag and left it on his bed before he slung his backpack over his shoulder to head to class. Because of Deku, he was going to have to hurry or he'll get there late. Stupid nerd.
...
Bakugou hesitated but only for a second before he was putting on a determined face and pushing open the door to class 3-A. What should he care what they think? The class turned silent as all conversation ceased and all eyes landed on him. He didn't even need to look to know that they were looking at him with wide eyes and open mouths. All except for Deku, at least. Even Momo who was informed of the situation thanks to Izuku looked surprised. This was her first time seeing the effects of the quirk in the flesh and she couldn't believe it. Deku looked around at his classmates and he knew what everyone was thinking because he himself thought it yesterday. Bakugou looked... pretty. He has always been a good looking guy but this... this was different. Or at least that's what everyone was trying to convince themselves of.
The blonde walked over to his seat and sat down. Nobody said anything until there was a high pitched squeal and a very bubbly Mina was suddenly rushing forward and wrapping her arms around him in a crushing hug, Uraraka following close behind with a wide, bright smile of her own. His head was practically stuffed in Mina's chest from how tight she was hugging him and it was suffocating. "Bakugou, you're a total babe! I didn't believe Yaomomo when she told Uraraka and me but oh my god!" she screeched before the rest of the bakusquad and class was joining in with comments and questions of their own. "GET OFFA ME, YOU LEECH!" Bakugou yelled, putting his hands on her arm to try and pry her off. He was not successful.
"Class has officially started. Everyone in their seats" Aizawa walked in and like magic everyone was quiet and in their chairs. "I can see you all saw what happened to Bakugou. There was an accident yesterday with a villain during his patrol with Midoriya that caused him to change genders. We didn't know the quirk of the man at first so he's very lucky it was just that-" Bakugou made a 'tch' sound, rolling his eyes, "-and not something worse. He will remain this way for three days. It's nothing serious so with that out of the way, class will be resuming as normal." The class all nodded and took out their notebooks and pencils to take notes. Bakugou pretended he didn't notice the way every so often, his classmates kept glancing his way.
...
By the time heroics class came, Bakugou had to sit that one out. His costume didn't fit and it was a hazard, according to Aizawa and Ectoplasm, to participate when his gauntlets fit him all wonky and his pants were hanging dangerously low on his hips. Mineta felt conflicted.
He sat off to the side and watched everyone else do their rescue missions with a bored expression. If he was out there, Bakugou would have rescued the stupid doll already. It was when Jirou and Kaminari were trying to get through Ectoplasm that Bakugou felt an ache in his back and stood up to stretch it out. It didn't hurt much but it bothered him a lot and he placed his hands on his waist to try and push forward while he leaned back to get some relief on his muscles.
"Are you alright, Bakugou-kun?" Momo asked, approaching him with a look of concern.
"S'nothin. Just my back that feels weird" he mumbled. Momo hummed, thinking about it, then smiled in understanding. "Are you wearing the bra I made you?" she asked gently and he scoffed.
"Course not. I'm not a damn girl" he argued and Momo laughed.
"Well for the next three days you are, Bakugou-kun. You need to wear one to support your chest. Otherwise you'll get back pain" she explained and Bakugou let out a snort. "I can come by after school and measure you so I can make you some clothes that actually fit!" Momo seemed eager to help and Bakugou would have denied it if Midnight hadn't given him crap about the uniform earlier that day after homeroom. "Fine" he answered instead and the black haired girl practically glowed.
...
After having gone to the support department to have some measurements done for temporary readjustments to his costume, Bakugou was allowed to go to lunch. He sat with his friends who were waiting with a steaming bowl of spicy noodles for him. The blonde sat besides Kirishima and Kaminari but immediately regretted his decision when Denki was throwing an arm over his shoulders. He was too exhausted for this.
"So, Kacchan~ Tell us, how's it feel being a girl?" he winked. Bakugou merely shrugged his arm off. "Fuck off, dunce face."
"Awww, come on! I just want to know!"
Mineta ran over and placed his hand on Bakugou's shoulder. "Yeah! Like have you seen yourself naked yet!?" there was practically foam dripping down the sides of his mouth. If he was the one who got turned into a girl, he'd be milking the opportunity for all it's got. Bakugou doesn't know how the purple creep hasn't gotten expelled yet.
"Touch me again and I'll pummel you to the ground, you little runt!" he snapped, baring his teeth aggressively, and Mineta immediately shrunk back with a scared yelp.
"Geez. Even as a chick he's still the same" the short boy muttered under his breath and stalked off.
"Guys, leave him alone! It's not very manly to ask him things that'll make him uncomfortable. At least let him finish eating first" Kirishima argued even though he himself was dying to ask Bakugou questions too. Sero agreed around a mouthful of food.
The bakusquad waited with bated breath until Bakugou was done eating. As soon as he put his chopsticks down, Bakugou mentally prepared himself as he was bombarded with questions.

Request: Two Nerds for the Price of One
Summary: What do you do when you have two crushes? By Bakugo’s logic, find a way to date them both of course. (Bakugo/Reader/Midoriya)
Wordcount: 2142
A/N: this is a request from AO3. I hope this okay. I don't generally write poly fics cause I primarily write only about things that I have experienced or been in a similar situation, and I never been in a poly relationship so how it works is still something I'm learning about.
You ran as fast as you possibly could down the hall to class 3-A, slamming the door open harder than you intended. But you couldn’t help it! “Izuku! Izuku! Look at this!” You hopped over to Izuku’s desk, holding a flier out in front of you, unable to hold still.
“I can’t read it when you’re jumping all over the place ___chan,”  Izuku giggled at you as he grabbed a hold of the paper. He gasped when he read it and started vibrating in his seat as well.
You plopped yourself at the empty desk in front of Izuku, resting your chin in your hands on his desk. “There is a sale of limited first generation hero merch with a chance of winning free tickets to the grand opening of the Hero History Museum! We have an opportunity to learn about some of the first vigilantes that changed our society and created the hero occupation! These are the people that inspired heroes who inspired heroes that inspired us!”
You grabbed both of Izuku’s hands in the air, your fingers interlacing. He smiled back at you, just as excited. “The first quirks to be recorded in history! Laws we have now were shaped by them!”
“The vintage costumes!” You squealed.
Izuku nodded with you and both of you yelled out happily, “New heroes to learn about!”
The two of you were kindred spirits. In first year, you took one look at his hero costume and knew instantly who he was inspired by. As a fellow fan of All Might and his amazing costumes, it was your duty to intervene when Hatsume tried to change the looks of his costume. That girl may be a genius when it comes to inventions, but as a designer she just threw things together. When she made Izuku new arm supports, you jumped in to adding some All Might esthetics.
Izuku was so thankful, it led to the two of you talking and finding out that the both of you were major hero otakus. It was so nice to have someone come over to your dorm room and not instantly judge you for the amount of hero memborbila you had.
You continued to gush. “Soon, you’ll have merch for sale and a museum with all the great things you’re going to do! I’m going to buy all of them! I’m your number one fan!”
“___!” He tried to pull his hands away to hide his blushing face, but you locked your fingers with his.
“Nope, no hiding Izuku! Take my compliments like the hero you are!” you laugh happily, making Izuku turn into an adorable strawberry, not noticing the eyes watching the two of you intently.
“There’s two of them,” Bakugo mumbled, leaning against Kirishima’s desk as he watched you and Deku gush about some hero nerd crap. “Two fucking nerdy ass Dekus.”
Kirishima chuckled to himself as he finished the assignment he’d forgotten was due next period. Thankfully, Bakugo is more lenient when it comes to helping with homework now. “Midoriya has really come out of his shell. He’s made some good friends outside of our class now.”
Bakugo starred as the two of you got up to walk out of the classroom. He tilted his head to get a better view. “I want to bite his ass.”
“Kats-”
“Her’s too.”
“Ew. Here, take my drink since you're so thirsty.” Kaminari thrusted an unopened juice into Bakugo’s chest jokingly.
Bakugo hummed, crossing his arms. “I’ve decided.”
Kirishima and Kaminari looked up at him, waiting for him to explain further as Bakugo paused to take a sip of the drink. “I want them both.”
Kaminari burst into a fit of laughter, holding his stomach, while Kirishima looked at him in horror. “What? No!” What the hell does his bro have planned?!
“I'm gonna make them both mine.” The ash-blonde just nodded in affirmation.
“Katsuki, no.”
The bell rang; the break was over and Kirishima hadn’t finished his homework! “Shitty Hair, I’m doing it. One way or another, their asses are mine.” Bakugo quickly wrote down the answer to the last question on the assignment before making his way to his seat, a suspicious-looking grin on his face.
“Well at least we know Bakugo has a type.” Kaminari leaned back in his chair, grinning as Kirishima sighed, giving up on trying to contain the chaos that is Bakugo Katsuki.
~
You groaned, completely depressed. Izuku and you had had a lot of fun at the hero merch sale; you’d both been able to buy so many items you never seen before. Of course Izuku bought everything All Might there. But when you two went up to the cashier, you were sadly informed that there were no more tickets. The museum was also sold out; you’d found out too late about the event. You lazily sketch out a new hero costume design for a first-year that needed more complex material for their quirk when a shadow hovered over you.
You looked up in time for a hand to slam down on the table and a body leaned in close to you. As you clutched your pencil to your chest, Bakugo smirked a few inches from your face. “Hey Nerd Number 2. What’s got you fucking moping?”
“Uh...I um…” You were completely tongue tied, heart pounding in your chest.
He just chuckled at you; you weren’t sure if it was a good sign or if you were about to be murdered. “I assume it has to do something about this?”
Two yellow strips of paper were thrusted into your face, “Hero Origins Exhibit” written on them. You gasp and reach out for it to see if it was real. He rudely dangled them above your head, out of reach.
“How’d you get that?!” You shouted. How on earth did he get two when you couldn't even get one?!
“I have my ways. I’ll give you them if you want...,” you nodded excitedly. “...but there is a price.”
Your eyes were locked on those tickets. Whatever it is, be it some gear or money, you’ll do it. If it means you and Izuku can go together to the museum. “What is it?”
He grabbed your chin with one hand, making you look at him. “You go on a date with me to the museum.”
Your breath hitched for a second as your brain translated what he’d just said. Date?! “Huh? Me and you? But I promised that I’d go with Izuku…”
Bakugo leaned in more, his nose grazing against your cheek as his lips made their way to your ear, and huskily whispered, “Then don’t tell him. How about if you agree, I’ll make sure Deku and you can go to the museum together. He’ll never have to know.” He bit at your lobe and then kissed the sensitive skin underneath. A shiver went down your back as he kissed your neck between words. “You want to see him happy, right?”
“Just one date?” You were completely melting in the palm of his hand.
He hummed, nuzzling your hair. “Sure.”
“Okay…” You dreamily whispered. If this is how he treats you, maybe it won’t be that bad...
The moment you agreed, he let go of your face. You blinked at his receding back, awakened from the dream-like state his warmth had put you in. “Good. I’ll text you the details later. And don’t be fucking late.” He threw you one more smirk over his shoulder before leaving the Support Course classroom. What….what just happened?! The shocked look on your classmates’ faces was all the evidence you needed to prove that, yes, that did just happen.
~
“Kacchan, I can’t believe you got these! You’re amazing!” Izuku was practically squealing on the common room couch, holding the tickets in his hands. Bakugo was sitting beside him, an arm resting on the back of the couch behind the smaller boy,  bodies pressed right up against each other.
Bakugo had been casually instigating more physical contact over the past year so Izuku didn't even bat an eyelash as he leaned in closer. “I know. Now about the price for them….” Bakugo pulled the tickets from Deku’s hands gently as he whispered into the nerd’s ear, making him blush deeply.
“Kacchan! You want what?! But I promised…” Izuku fidgets with his hands in his lap, mumbling and slowly falling into the depths of his mind.
Smirking, Bakugo firmly wraps his arm around Izuku’s shoulders, practically pulling the other boy into his lap. “Don’t worry, I know about your little nerd best friend. I got connections and I could get you two to the museum. If you make it worth my while, Nerd.”
Bakugo tried not to chuckle when he felt the nerd shiver; gotcha. Izuku held up a pinky to Bakugo shyly. “Okay, if you promise?”
“Of course. I’m not a fucking liar, Deku.” He links their pinkies together, pulling their hands to his face to kiss Izuku’s.
He heard the nerd loudly swallow before launching to his feet. “Okay…okay. Deal, Kacchan! Thank you for this!” Bakugo watched his nerd escape to his dorm room with an amused and triumphant smile on his face.
Kaminari and Kirishima watched the entire situation play out, in complete disbelief. They walked over to Bakugo as he texted on his phone. Kaminari flipped himself onto the couch to sit beside the other blonde, looking to see he was texting you where to meet up on Saturday. “This can’t possibly go well.” Kirishima sighed from behind the couch, leaning on his elbows as he read the text as well. When did he become the voice of reason in this group?
“It’ll be fucking fine, Hair-For-Brains,” Bakugo snorted, waving a heart filled text from you up, bragging as Bakugo does.
Kaminari laughed, actually enjoying watching his bro finally make a move. Leaning back with his arms behind his head, the electric blonded asked, “How did you even manage to get tickets and they didn’t?”
“Easy. Bribe the cashier to tell them that they didn’t have any more tickets while I bought three.”
“So glad you are on the heroes’ side.”
~
You waited in front of the museum, messing with your hair and clothes every five seconds while looking at your reflection in a shop window. The girls in your dorm had helped you decide on your outfit. In fact, you’d pretty much had a miniature fashion show in your room. You sigh to yourself, mumbling, “What are you doing ___?” Going on a date with Bakugo Katsuki was not what you had planned.
If there was anyone you were more likely to go on  a date with, you’d expected it to be Izuku. Oh Izuku…he’s so sweet and the two of you can geek out on a whole other level together. You wish he was going to the museum with you. But Bakugo did promise that he’d make sure that you guys got to go together for going on this date….maybe it won't be so bad.
“___?”
Your head whipped over to the side. “Izuku?”
Izuku came over to you, wearing skinny jeans that you’d bought him and an open flannel shirt over one of his regular shirts that said, “t-shirt”. You swear one of these days, you are going to burn all those shirts and buy him a whole new wardrobe. “What are you doing here?”
“Simple, I invited you both here.” Bakugo strolled up to the two of you, smirking with his hands in his pockets. You and Izuku look back at each other, confused.
“Uh…but I thought….” You fiddled with your hands, not sure how to say it in front of Izuku. This is so embarrassing.
Izuku didn't hesitate though. “Isn’t this a date?”
Bakugo just smiled proudly. “You are right, this is a date. All three of us.”
“Huh?!” you both yelled in shock.
He sighed, leaning in as he placed a hand on each of your shoulders. “Really, do I have to fucking spell it out? I like both your nerdy asses.”
“Kacchan, you should have just asked one of us out at a time if you were confused about—”
“Not confused. I just don't half-ass.” He spun both of you around, his arms resting around your shoulders as he steered all three of you towards the museum entrance. You were completely at a loss as Izuku looked like he was going to continue to protest.
“If I chose one then I would only be able to give the relationship half of my attention since I’d still like the other. So I’m gonna sweep both of you off your nerdy-ass feet.” Bakugo left no room for argument.
You looked back at Izuku, his face was as red as your face was hot. Both speechless, you were only able to go with the flow of Bakugo Katsuki.

NSFW Alphabet ~ Katsuki Bakugo
Word Count: 1.7k
Key: ☆,♤
Ask: Okay for one, I love all the hcs you did for Todoroki! Would you be able to do something like that for Bakugo?
Thanks, Anon for requesting this, I was already planning on doing this but then I put it on the back burner to focus on other things and kind of forgot about it. Anyways I hope you guys enjoy.
Tumblr media
Aftercare ~ What he’s like after sex.
➯ After sharing such an intimate moment with you Katsuki’s tough-guy façade waivers for just a little while.
➯ He’ll be super caring (more than usual), checking up on you every two minutes to make sure that you're okay, and asking you if you need anything so he can provide for you.
➯ He wants you to know that he loves you and not just something that he uses from time to time to release stress.
Body part ~ His favorite body part of his and also his partner's.
➯ Katsuki’s favorite body part of his own are his hands because they are the very thing that drives you over the edge over and over and over again.
➯ Katsuki loves all. Of. You. He loves the shape of your eyes, the way that your collar bone pops, your stretch marks, your belly button, the softness of your lips, the way that your hair smells. Like for real, he can’t get enough of you.
Cum ~ Anything to do with cum.
➯ Suki’s cum is always very thick and completely opaque, it tastes sweet but also salty like saltwater taffy.
➯ Katsuki 's favorite place to cum is inside of you, he loves it, he believes it to be the most intimate part of lovemaking.
➯ If you're not game for that his second favorite place to cum is on your stomach, though it doesn’t do the same for him as the former, it’s close.
Dirty secret ~ Pretty self-explanatory, a dirty secret of his.
➯ Katsukis has always wanted to try anal. Not for any particular reason, he just thinks that it might be interesting, hell it might even be fun.
Experience ~ How experienced is he? Does he know what he’s doing?
➯ He has had a couple of girlfriends before, but compared to you, it’s like night and day.
➯ Dating you is like nothing Katsuki has ever experienced before. Half the time he has no idea what to do, but when you're in bed that's a whole different story. You had to teach him one or two things, but aside from that, he is amazing, every time he leaves you speechless.
Favorite position ~ This goes without saying.
➯ It’s Katsuki's personal goal for him to bury himself as deep as possible inside of you, he wants to feel all of you, and he really does mean all.
➯ That being said his favorite positions include the following: The Anvil, Head Over Heels, Cowgirl/Reverse Cowgirl, Doggy Style, and Missionary.
Goofy ~ Is he more serious during the moment? Is he humorous?
➯ Katsuki isn’t super, super serious during sex, so if something funny happens he’ll chuckle for a second before carrying on with whatever he was doing.
➯ However, he’ll never purposely joke around while having sex. Even though he isn’t super intimate sex it’s still a special moment between the two of you.
Hair ~ How well-groomed is he? Does the carpet match the drapes?
➯ Blonde pubes as far as the eye can see!
➯ I don’t see Katsuki as the type of person to trim his bush. It’s not that he doesn’t try for you, he just honestly never thought twice about things like that.
➯ Though if you were to say something about it he wouldn’t hesitate to fix things up for you.
Intimacy ~ How is he during the moment? The romantic aspect of it all.
➯ Katsuki usually isn’t very romantic, he knows that he loves you and thinks that is enough.
➯ But on special dates like Valentine's Day or your anniversary he tries his best. He’ll make reservations at your favorite restaurant and take you to see the movie that everyone has been talking about.
➯ Once your outside adventures are done you can expect a very steamy lovemaking session to take place in the bedroom, which he decorated with rose petals scattered on the bedspread and candles that illuminate the whole room.
Jack off ~ Masturbation headcanon!
➯ I’m not going to lie to you, Katsuki is one hell of a horn dog.
➯ When you're not around for him to pound you senseless then jacking off is the next best thing.
➯ He'll be quick about, fast strokes, and he'll be thinking about you the whole time.
Kink ~ One or more of his kinks.
➯ Though he would never admit it he is really into choking and bondage. There is just something about the dominance of it all. He loves to be large and in charge.
➯ He is also super into overstimulation, spanking, and teasing, he enjoys watching you squirm underneath him.
➯ So basically he’s a total dom, in fact, he might even be a little bit of a sadist.
Location ~ Favorite places to do the do.
➯ Anywhere literally anywhere.
➯ In the car, on a table, against a wall, in the pool, on the roof.
➯ Seriously anywhere, just say when.
Motivation ~ What turns them on, gets them going.
➯ Anything that you do. Anything that you say. Anything that you wear.
➯ Kacchan is already a massive horndog with barely any self-control, so when you come around wearing your PINK boyshorts with your hair tied-up any ounce of that so-called self-control that he did have goes flying out the window.
No ~ Something he wouldn’t do, turn-offs.
➯ Anything that will cause you pain that’s not pleasurable for you. As soon as you say stop he doesn’t hesitate to do so.
Oral ~ Preference in giving or receiving.
➯ Prefers receiving or giving.
➯ When you suck him off he likes to put his hands on each side of your head and trust hard into your face.
➯ Of course, he’ll return the favor. His tongue will help you experience new highs that will leave you shaking and begging for more.
Pace ~ Is he fast and rough? Slow and sensual?
➯ Sex with is Katsuki almost always fast, hard, rough senseless pounding.
➯ On days when he is feeling more romantic than usual, he likes to take things slower. Foreplay will be longer and incorporate much more teasing, once you arrive at the main event things will be slower and intimate than normal.
Quickie ~ His opinions on quickies, how often.
➯ Katsuki thoroughly enjoys quickies. It’s already been established that he is always, always horny for you, so I would say that quickies are pretty frequent.
Risk ~ Is he game to experiment? Does he take risks?
➯ He’ll never be the one to suggest anything because he thinks that you are more than enough for him.
➯ But if you were to suggest something he would be all for it, as long as you’re safe.
Stamina ~ How many rounds can he go for? How long does he last?
➯ This man has stamina for days.
➯ He can go for as many rounds as you need and then some. Like seriously, it’s almost as if he doesn’t have an off button.
Toys ~ Does he own toys? Does he use them? On a partner or themselves?
➯ He does not own any dildos, when Katsuki is in bed he wants to be the one who is making you scream his name.
➯ That being said he does have a couple of pairs of handcuffs (his favorite are the fluffy ones with the leopard print), very, very occasionally he’ll use a vibrator if he needs that extra “oomph”, and he has a scarf that he uses specifically for tying your wrist to his headboard.
Unfair ~ How much he likes to tease.
➯ Katsuki’s tease game is top tier. He’ll leave you a moaning, shaking mess before he even gets inside of you.
➯ Especially if you feel hornier than usual, he’ll take full advantage of the situation, and you’ll be in tears by the end of the night.
Volume ~ How loud is he, what sounds does he make.
➯ When he is not kissing you, you’ll hear grunts, pants, and the very occasional moan.
➯ Kutski is very vocal during sex, his favorite quotes include: “Your Daddy’s little slut aren’t ya”, “You like that, huh” and of course “I fucking love you so fucking much!”
Wild card ~ A random headcanon for the character.
➯Katsuki is big on cuddling. He might seem like a mean jerk on the outside but on the inside, he is a slightly less mean jerk.
➯ He’ll always find an excuse to have you in his arms, he’ll never admit it but he is desperate to be with you. He wants to stay with you in his arms forever.
X-ray ~ Let’s see what’s going on under those clothes!
➯ Katsuki is super strong (duh!) and has the muscles to prove it. You notice the way that his biceps and forearms are in a state of constant flex whenever he supports you while you ride him.
➯ His dick is definitely above average 6.8 maybe 6.9 inches (172.72 mm, 175.26 mm).  His girth is also something that he has the right to be proud of, he is quite thick so every time he thrust into you he fills you up completely.
Yearning ~ How high is his sex drive?
➯ Pshh!
➯ It’s literally all he can think about.
➯ He’s thinking about where it’s going to happen, when it’s going to happen, and if he should try out that new position he saw on the internet.
➯ Often he’ll find himself wondering if you are just as obsessed with him as he is you.
Zzz ~ How quickly he falls asleep afterward.
➯ He’ll make sure that you're okay and that you have everything that you need,
➯ Then he’ll doze off pretty soon after.
➯ He likes to fall asleep with your head on his chest so he can play with your hair as he listens to talk about how your day went.

Okay, sorry for sending another request, but I’m in my feelings again. How would the Bakusquad react to their partner (the reader) being apart of the foster care system? (Not due being hurt or anything, just parents being neglectful.) This is a situation that happened to me so I just wanna see how they’d react. Thank you, and I love you ❤️🖤💜🧡🧡💚
hi fluff! i actually don't write bnha characters x readers-i never did before and id feel uncomfortable writing the reader as a romantic partner to them since im an adult. I'll write this as the reader being part of the bakusquad though, like a short fic! Hope that's okay ❤️❤️
-I'll be adressing the reader as Y/N
****
It was another late night in the UA dorms, the students all gathering to cook dinner, some gathering their clothes to go take a shower whilst others simply lounged in the living room, their voices loud enough to be heard across the hall.
"Is it game night again?"
Todoroki'd been in the kitchen, unsuccesfully trying to chop an onion whilst Deku helped him, trying not to wince every time Todoroki brought the knife down to the onion with a loud thud.
"Yeah, Mina mentioned it's truth or dare tonight-it was either that or whatever Bakugo chose which is never a good ide-Shoto! You're scattering onion chunks to the floor!" Deku looked wide-eyed at the mess Todoroki was creating; yet with one wide-eyed look from Todoroki, a silent 'help' he couldn't help but roll his eyes, leaning down to gather the fallen onion pieces.
"Do you want to join them? For game night?" Todoroki asked.
Deku hummed.
"Nah, I'm too sleepy to deal with Kacchan today" he said with a huff, "I'll leave him to Y/N to deal with" he added with a grin.
Todoroki smiled, turning to glance at the couches in the common room where Bakugo and Kirishima were loudly talking about one thing or another, Kaminari sprawled on the other couch with his head in Y/N's lap.
"I just hope Bakugo won't start yelling again-Last time he lost at game night he set fire to the couch."
Izuku laughed, stifling his giggles behind his palm when Bakugo turned in his seat to look for the offending sound.
"Yeah...we'll see how that goes tonight I suppose."
***
"No! Helll no!"
"Awe c'mon Blasty, it'll be fun~"
"Shut up shitty hair! I said no, we are not playing truth or dare damn it!"
They had all been arguing over what to play for well near an hour, until Mina had suggested it-"why not truth or dare?" she asked in a sing-song voice.
Everyone agreed to it...well, with one exception.
"Bakugo, come on, why not?" Y/N asked with a pout. The gears in their head started turning as they saw their friend's grumbled expression though.
"Wait, are you scared?" they asked with a mischevious grin that made Bakugo turn and stare at them wide-eyed.
"Is the mighty King Explosion Murder scared we'll asl him something he can't answer? Or is it that you're afraid you won't be able to complete a dare?" they asked with a waggle of their eyebrows, and that was all it took for Katsuki to explode.
"Fuck you! I ain't scared of anything!"
"Then prove it" they said and that was that. With a click of his tongue, Katsuki flopped to the ground to join his friends in the semi-formed circle they sat in, a n empty soda bottle in the center.
"Okay then" Mina cheered with a clasp of her hands, "cap points to who'll ask and the other side to who'll have to answer. Ready, set, go!" she said as she spinned the bottle. The game was getting started.
***
A short while later found them all in the most disshelved state-Katsuki was wearing his hair in pigtails, Kaminari had lipstick and blush on his cheeks, Kirishima had swapped clothes with Mina-everyone was worse for wear, and their laughter and yells were heard all across the hall.
"Okay okay", Kaminari said as his laughter died down, "let's stick to just truth questions for a couple rounds at least yeah? I had to run for my life when Y/N dared me to go wake up Todoroki and tickle him!"
With that he turned the bottle again, seeing it land on Mina and Y/N.
Mina hummed.
"Well, guess I won't ask you truth or dare this time" she giggled, tapping a hand on her chin in thought. "Let's see, what should I ask.."
She ignored Bakugo's complaints of 'hurry the fuck up raccoon eyes' but her smile widened as she let out a little 'aha!' sound.
"How about..what was the biggest trouble you got in? Like, one that made your parents so furious but was totally worth it?" Mina asked with a grin. "I already used up all my good questions, sorry" she added with a half shrug.
"Oh um, I wouldn't know" Y/N shrugged, "it's not like I had any parents to begin with" they added with a half-hearted laugh.
The room went still as everyone turned to look to Y/N with various expressions of shock and confusion.
"Hah?" Bakugo exclaimed, and everything suddenly came back to life, everyone shuffling closer to Y/N awaiting an explanation.
"Oh uh, guess I never mentioned it-it's kinda awkward to explain um, long story short I've been in the foster care system ever since I was a baby? Moving into the dorms here has been my most stable home kinda" they explained, their gaze averting the concerned ones of their friends.
How would they react? It's not like this was some well hid secret but still, it's not like they go around telling people about their upbringing and-oh god, did they just make everything awkward? What if-
"Huh. Well, guess I gotta change my truth-or-dare question then" Mina shrugged, and just like that-the tension dissipatated, as if it'd never been there in the first place.
Denki gave Y/N a careful nod from across their circle, followed by Kirishima's supportive smile-it's amazing how just these small gestures could make such a difference, a silent 'It's ok-thank you for telling us.'
"What, you thought we'd care 'bout how you grew up or something?" Bakugo chided, taking note of the silent worry on his friends face.
Kirishima threw a hand over Bakugo's mouth before the boy could continue speaking, ignoring the daggers Bakugo's stare was throwing at him for it.
"What Blasty's trying to say", Kirishima said, "is that we all love you and would never judge or question your past-what matters is you're here with us now, and we're all happy for that!"
"Yeah dude", Denki chimed in, his eyes bright as he slid across the floor to come beside Y/N, slinking an arm across their shoulders, "you're part of the squad! Like, if you wanna talk about anything, we're always gonna be here for you, ok?"
Y/N couldn't help the tears threatening to reach their eyes. Looking around the room at their friends-they knew they had a family of their own right there.

Kiribaku Month - Day 18: Sea
Wordcount: 1632 words
@kiribakumonth2019
As the direct continuation of Day 17, you really need to have read it to understand the whole situation. I think reading the others independantly is fine, but this one I really don’t think so.
I also feel like the sea is not prominent enough, but it’s there so I did my job. Next is Prom and I really don’t know how I’ll balance plot and proms but I’ll do my best!
I hope you’ll enjoy it!
Day 18: Sea
Eijirou was fucking avoiding him. Kacchan had no idea what happened, and Eijirou kept saying that everything was fine, but there was definitely something wrong.
Eijirou barely talked to him, these days. He avoided staying alone with Kacchan and refused his offers to spar, arguing that he had important things to do with that shitty smile Kacchan knew wasn’t genuine. It was too bright, too tense. Maybe Kacchan didn’t know him as well as he should, with his missing memories, but he still recognized the signs. Eijirou had always been a shitty liar.
“Kacchan, is something wrong?” Deku asked as they roamed the desert, looking for a huge machine that had been reported there.
“Nothing, shut up,” he growled.
It had barely been a week since Deku’s reformatting and he was already annoying as fuck. He’d called Kacchan by his formal denomination for about two hours until his fucking Operators told him that he didn’t have to be so formal, and the shitty Defense unit fucking listened to them instead of him.
It kinda made him regret killing Deku. Especially since he didn’t even remember how or why it happened. But orders were orders, and the old Deku wasn’t any less annoying than this one, anyway. All shitty Dekus were an equal pain in Kacchan’s ass, and apparently, he’d be stuck with the fucking nerd forever. The only difference was that before, he had Eijirou to make up for it, and now the shitty haired android apparently didn’t want him anymore.
Fuck.
What did Kacchan do wrong, this time? He’d been doing his best, recently! Sure, he wasn’t comfortable with public affection yet, or with taking off his blindfold, but he was working on it! And from the memories he’d managed to recover, it had taken his past self much longer to reach that point, so it really wasn’t on him!
Was he too slow? Did Eijirou realize that who Kacchan was now would never measure up to who he was before? How was Kacchan supposed to know what was wrong if the dumbass didn’t fucking tell him?!
Kacchan was so caught up in his own thoughts that he almost slammed into the machine he’d been looking for. The fight was long and strenuous, but he’d managed to recover fast enough that his initial mistake didn’t turn into a fatal one. All in all, it had been a huge success, but no major battle could occur without Deku pointlessly sacrificing himself like a fucking idiot, leaving Kacchan to deliver the finishing blow. Not that he’d have it any other way, but it was still annoying as fuck that no amount of reformatting could get rid of this shitty, clearly defunct aspect of Deku's fucked up program.
Kacchan came back to the Resistance camp as soon as he was done with the mission, Deku on his heels with his new body. Eijirou’s eyes were on him immediately, but he didn’t smile like he usually did. He didn’t even greet them, leaving it to Black Eyes. Everyone at the camp was acting like normal except for their leader, so it was apparently just a thing between Kacchan and him.
Annoyed, he left Deku with the extras and made a beeline toward Eijirou, grabbing his wrist and dragging him outside before he could react.
“Come with me, Shitty Hair. We’re going fishing,” he grumbled.
He told Deku to fuck off when he tried to follow them, with Black Eyes’ full support.
“You two better figure things out!” she said as they left, covering Eijirou’s protests.
According to the memories Kacchan had recovered, Eijirou had once mentioned wanting to go the sea. Kacchan didn’t know if they’d managed to go, back then, but he supposed it was a good time to do it now, whether it was for the first time or not. The Commander had given them no further instructions for now, after all.
The walk there wasn’t too long, nor too dangerous despite all the machines on the way. They were no match for Kacchan, with or without a fucking Defense unit.
“Blasty, what the hell? I have things to do at the camp!” Eijirou protested one more time.
“Black Eyes’ got it.”
“You have things to do!”
“Not right now.”
Kacchan was forced to stop when he noticed that Eijirou wasn’t following him anymore.
“Where are we even going?” he asked, arms crossed and chin up in a perfect picture of stubborn defiance. Kacchan could never get enough of this aspect of Eijirou, but he didn’t have time for this at the moment.
“To the seafront. Fishing,” he repeated.
A machine tried to sneak up on them and Kacchan annihilated it.
“Come on, we can’t stay at the same place for too long,” he said as he grabbed Eijirou’s wrist once more.
“No! I’m not coming with you!” he protested.
“Fucking why? I thought you wanted to do it! Was it that shitty last time?”
“What last time?”
“I don’t fucking now! You tell me! I just remember you wanted to go there, I have no fucking idea if we actually did!”
“We didn’t, but that’s not the point! Why do you want to do this so badly now?”
Kacchan let out a frustrated groan as he let go of Eijirou's wrist.
“You’re fucking avoiding me. I thought I could get you to talk if we left, and maybe if we did something you wanted you’d stop being fucking mad at me. So are you coming or what?”
Eijirou didn’t move, arms still crossed, brows still furrowed, scrutinizing.
“Fine, we’re going,” he sighed. “We were supposed to go fishing ages ago, anyway.”
They walked the rest of the way in silence, only interrupted by Kacchan’s yells whenever a bunch of machines crossed their path. Once they were on the gray coast, surrounded with water and half-sunk buildings, he cleared the area and taught Eijirou how to throw his pod, seek disturbance in the water, and send it to fetch whatever had caused it.
Eijirou seemed wary, at first, but he quickly got caught up in the fishing session, grinning and laughing whenever he managed to catch anything, be it a normal fish, a mechanical one, or just useless scrap. The tension between them slowly eased until Kacchan felt that things were back to normal. He risked snaking an arm around Eijirou’s waist, and was surprised when he felt him tense.
It seemed that quality time wouldn’t solve everything, after all.
“What’s wrong, Ei?” he asked again, softer this time.
Eijirou relaxed a little, but Kacchan didn’t like the look on his face.
“You surprised me, that’s all.”
“I meant in general, Shitty Hair!”
“You’re not supposed to call me that anymore,” Eijirou remarked with a teasing smile that didn't last more than a second.
“Ei, for fuck’s sake, don’t avoid the damn question!”
Eijirou turned toward him, pod forgotten in the dark waters.
“It’s really been bothering you, huh.”
“Of course it’s been bothering me, dumbass,” Kacchan scoffed.
Eijirou kept staring at him, thoughtful and inquisitive, like he could see through the blindfold and right into Kacchan's head. It was unsettling, and Kacchan didn’t understand what Eijirou wanted. Still, he couldn’t just sit on his ass.
“You want me to take it off?” he asked, reaching for his blindfold.
Eijirou shook his head.
“You don’t have to.”
“But would you feel better if I did?”
Eijirou looked away for a few seconds and said:
“Yeah, I guess I would. But if you don’t want to…”
Kacchan took it off. He still didn’t like it, but he should make an effort if he wanted things to get better. It was what his older self would have done, probably, and he couldn’t lose against himself.
It seemed to unlock something in Eijirou, but he didn’t seem any happier. In fact, when he cradled Kacchan’s face in his hands, he looked sadder than ever. Kacchan was this close to begging him to say something, but he felt that it wouldn’t help.
Fuck, he really had no idea what to do here. He wasn’t programmed to care about things, let alone fix them. All he could do was kill and destroy, and the sadness in Eijirou’s eyes wasn’t something he could get rid of with violence.
Slowly, he raised his hands to cup Eijirou’s face, mirroring his position, trying to smooth his sad expression.
“Eijirou…”
Whatever he was going to say was interrupted by Eijirou’s chapped, dry lips on his. He melted into the kiss, responding as best as he remembered how. There was something more to the usual sadness, he realized. The sea salt on Eijirou's lips tasted like tears, at least according to his sensory analysis system, and the kiss left a lingering sense of despair.
“I’m sorry I worried you,” Eijirou said when he pulled away. “It’s not your fault.”
“So you won’t tell me what’s wrong?”
Eijirou shook his head.
“I’ll get better, I just need some time,” he said. “You’ll have to trust me on this.”
Kacchan lowered his head. Trust wasn’t something he was programmed for, either. Not for the first time since he’d started working with the Resistance, Kacchan felt like there was a lot he was lacking.
Things wouldn’t get better if he didn’t try, however, so he looked back up and nodded.
“Fucking fine. I’ll wait.”
The pod came back with a gigantic fish, surprising them both, and they decided that it was enough for the day. On the way back, Eijirou slipped his hand in Kacchan’s, and offered to take a ride back as soon as they reached the plains. If they took the long way home in their mad race on wild boars, Kacchan had no regret. Everything wasn’t solved, but they were back on the right track, probably.

BnHA Chapter 181: 9:59 A.M.
Previously on BnHA: Gentle continued to rassle with Deku and asked him why he wanted to be a hero. Deku said it was because of everyone who helped him and supported him and believed in him; he wanted to make them proud and “show them a brighter future.” The two of them bonded in that shounen way, and meanwhile La Brava sprinted into the woods trying to hack U.A.’s network. Unfortunately she ran into Hounddog and a bunch of Ectoplasm clones. Realizing the jig was up, she went back to warn Gentle, only to find him lying defeated on the ground, having just fallen victim to Deku’s latest Shoot Style move, St. Louis Smash. La Brava was all “let him go!!” and ran up to Deku and started adorably beating on him with her lil fists. Gentle belatedly realized that he had put her in this situation and made her into his accomplice even though she was innocent. In an attempt to get her sentence reduced, he flung Deku into the air with his quirk to try and make it look like the battle never occurred. Ecto and Hounddog then came out of the woods, and Gentle surrendered.
Today on BnHA: There is a not-as-tense-as-they-try-to-make-it-seem scene where we wait and see if the festival is going to be cancelled due to Gentle’s shenanigans. Apparently the heroes have been instructed to start the evacuation process upon “confirmation of hostile intent.” But Gentle says he is not hostile. He says he’s committed a lot of crimes, but that La Brava is innocent and was brainwashed by him, and he asks them to pardon her. Deku then comes out of the woods and the heroes ask if he fought with Gentle. Deku white lies his way out of the situation, saying that Gentle was trying to pull a prank and that the two of them had “a small dispute.” Apparently Hounddog is satisfied by that, because he reports back to the other heroes that the situation is fine, and then he and Ecto apprehend Gentle and La Brava and take them to the police. Meanwhile Deku hurries back to get cleaned up and changed, and makes it back with only moments to spare. The concert begins, with Eri watching excitedly from Mirio’s arms.
(As always, all comments not marked with an ETA are my unspoiled reactions from my first readthrough of this chapter. I’ve read up through chapter 207 now, so any ETAs will reflect that.)
we’re opening on a “moments earlier” flashback of Ecto being informed via his headset that a student went out shopping earlier and hasn’t come back
and now Hounddog is contacting him and saying that something’s going on near to where he is, and he’s going to borrow a few of Ecto’s clones to go check it out
Ecto’s asking if it’s an emergency, and Hounddog is giving him a ton of detail based on scent alone omg
Tumblr media
wow Hounddog, you’re pretty cool aren’t you. “three people, not moving any more, and they’re all freaked out and sweaty”
and look how scary he is
Tumblr media
I freaking love him omg
OH THANK GOD
Tumblr media
so because the intruders have no hostile intent, the festival can still go on! what a stupid loophole! I’m so glad they exploited it lmao
you know, if this was in any way a serious villain operation, this kind of shrugging-your-shoulders approach would definitely get a few more students kidnapped and/or killed. nice to see U.A. hasn’t learned a damn thing lol
Ecto recognizes Gentle from his Youtube vids as “that villain that’s only quick to run away”
now Hounddog’s grabbing him by the collar and asking where his comrades are
Gentle says he has none
Hounddog is all “what about those injuries and the general mess in the vicinity indicating that a battle has recently taken place?”
and Gentle says he “had a stumble”
lmao. “one heck of a whoopsy-daisy there. good thing I have Life Alert”
Hounddog’s asking if it was just the two of them and Gentle says yes
oh snaaaaaaaaap
Tumblr media
I wonder if he knows which student? he should learn how to identify Deku’s scent specifically since it’s always him getting involved in these things. would save some time
meanwhile we’re cutting back to the student in question who is landing now
and he’s thinking back to what Gentle said earlier and he’s figured out that he was trying to protect La Brava and spare her from the full consequences of all this if possible
meanwhile Gentle is telling Hounddog, “if you’re looking for the boy, he’s just over there...”
oh have you finally learned a life lesson then
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Gentle gained +500 self awareness points! too late! but at least he got them lol
I hope Aiba has the sense to keep her mouth shut
he’s asking them to pardon her
she’s so little and cute, I’m sure they will omg
meanwhile Aiba is sobbing and clinging to Gentle and thinking no, he didn’t brainwash her, she really loves him
eh, a little of column A, a little of column B...
now Hounddog is asking Deku if he fought Gentle
well, aside from it being obvious at a glance, I’m sure he can probably smell it too
wow Deku
Tumblr media
look at this little green punk and his smooth white lies
anyways, so he says it’s all right now
Aiba is still clinging to Gentle and sobbing
Tumblr media
getting the feeling these guys can see right through Deku’s bullshit, but at the same time they can kind of figure out why he’s not being 100% truthful, and they don’t want to ruin the day for the kids and bring a storm of negative PR raining down upon U.A. either
so The Sheriff -- who we haven’t seen a while, how you doin bud -- is asking for a report!
AND OH MY GOD
Tumblr media
FUCKING CALLED IT. LOOK AT THIS GUY. JUST A BIG SOFTIE IN THE END ARENTCHA
so he says they’ll continue to keep their guard up, but for the time being they can stand down
and they’re taking Gentle into custody and telling him he can explain the details to the police
and as they lead him away, Gentle is telling Deku that he was once enrolled in a hero course, and that he became a criminal due to the despair of having to drop out
Tumblr media
look how fucking massive Hounddog’s arm is oh my god
and also! yes, that’s very sweet, very nice, catharsis, etc. etc. everyone understands each other yay
fsdfkhlk now Ecto is stepping in and suddenly unleashing an array of powerful dad moves!!
Tumblr media
telling him All Might was worried! seeing Deku look panicked when he realizes the time, and reassuring him that he still has time to get back! telling Deku they’ll go together to pick up the things Deku lost! ECTO YOU ARE GREAT AND SO UNDERRATED OMG. DARK HORSE MVP
MEANWHILE ONE OF DEKU’S ACTUAL DADS HAS JUST FOUND OUT HE’S MISSING AND HE’S REALLY PISSED OFF
Tumblr media
getting the feeling that Aizawa would have never signed that permission slip. it was pretty irresponsible of All Might tbh. just, statistically the data shows that you don’t let Deku go off on his own. you just don’t. you don’t, All Might
and apparently the shirts say “A Band”! even for the kids who aren’t in the actual band! I wonder who came up with that name. sounds like the work of Todoroki “my hero name is Shouto” Shouto to me
(ETA: as we now know, it was actually Yaoyorozu “Shouto and I have a lot more in common than you know” Momo)
now we’re following Deku on a brief journey to pick up the bags he dropped, while he thinks to himself about how similar he and Gentle were, and that they both fought for others
okay but let’s not pretend Gentle was fighting for La Brava’s sake until the very end, though
anyway, the bags weren’t where Deku left them, but thankfully an old lady picked them up and they found them around 9:35!
AND GUYS LOOK AT THIS OMG
Tumblr media
KAMINARI DENKI YOU TRULY KNOW NO FEAR HUH. that Kacchan thing really emboldened him. he came out of it alive and was all, “wow I can really get away with anything, huh?”
AND HE CAN! WHAT A REVELATION
(ETA: okay but for real, I know BakuDeku and KiriBaku are the #1 and #3 most popular pairings in the series (going by AO3 anyway), but after reading this arc, I can’t help but feel like KamiBaku is being slept on. Kaminari’s Little Bro Energy and his willingness to test boundaries put together with Kacchan’s frankly shocking levels of compliance make for an amazing combo. the cuteness potential here is off the fucking charts)
so people are milling around and wondering what class A has in store and saying they’re excited
and of course they are, because class A famously kicks ass as we have all realized by now
and now Eri is shyly tugging at her big bro Mirio’s sleeve and asking if Deku is going to dance
YOU BET HE IS, ERI. HE’S GOING TO DANCE YOUR SOCKS OFF
and All Might is running up to Aizawa, presumably to tell him they found Deku and everything’s hunky dory now
look at all these people!
Tumblr media
SO LET’S BE SURE TO GIVE EM A SHOW, EVERYONE
holy shit it’s 9:59 and still no Deku in sight. fucking kid always has to make an entrance
AHHHHHHHHHH
Tumblr media
I’M MORE EXCITED THAN THIS WHOLE FUCKING CROWD PUT TOGETHER OMGGG
WHO IS THAT SHOUTING “YAOYOROZU” OVER ON THE LEFT?? DID I SOMEHOW GET TRANSPORTED INTO THIS MANGA AND DIDN’T REALIZE
(ETA: apparently these are all of her fans from the commercials she did with Snake Hair Lady and Kendou. not my preferred way for Momo to get a following, but I can’t say I object to her having a following. what can I say, these people know perfection when they see it)
AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH
Tumblr media
I CAN’T BELIEVE THIS IS IT OH MY GOD. THE ANIME BETTER KNOCK THIS OUT OF THE FUCKING PARK
BUT OH MY GOD, EVEN THOUGH IT’S JUST ONE PAGE I’M FUCKING LOSING MY MIND
(ETA: oh my god I’m so glad we got more in the next chapter though. I was prepared to take whatever we got, but for a moment I genuinely thought this was gonna be it, and after all of that buildup I’m so happy we did get the full performance and each of the characters got a little moment to shine)
MOMO’S HARDCORE CHEERING SQUAD!! EITHER THAT OR JIROU ACTUALLY WROTE A SONG THAT CONSISTS OF NOTHING BUT MOMO’S NAME OVER AND OVER, AND THEY ELECTED TO PLAY THIS AS THEIR OPENING ACT. I KNOW THIS ISN’T ACTUALLY WHAT’S HAPPENING, BUT IT STILL CAN BE CANON IN MY HEART
MIRIO HOISTING ERI UP TO SEE
Tumblr media
THIS IS THE CUTEST PANEL WE’VE EVER HAD IN THIS MANGA. SUCK IT, ALL YOU OTHER PANELS
BAKUGOU PLAYING THE SHIT OUT OF THOSE DRUMS! FUCKING MURDER EVERYONE WITH YOUR SOUND BOIIIII
AND ERI SMILING
I’M DEAD. THIS IS BEAUTIFUL. THIS IS SO FUCKING GREAT. I LOVE IT. THANK YOU, MANGA. I’M PLAYING “Y CONTROL” ON REPEAT, FUCK YEAH
YOU DON’T NEED A BONUS, JUST ENJOY THE MAGICAL MOMENT

Revival of Midoriya Izuku Part 1
Alright you fuckin gremlins yall have been waiting months for this and so was I, so without further ado, heres new isntallment of demise!au fic
NOTE: THIS FIC TAKES PLACE ABOUT 9 MONTHS AFTER THE EVENTS OF ORIGINAL DEMISE FIC
you can also find it on ao3 under the same title
The interrogation room at Musutafu’s police station has long become a familiar sight for Izuku. Whether or not it was a good thing was a completely different issue. Let’s just say that the past 9 months of Izuku’s hospital free life were just an extended shitshow of t-posing at the legal system.
And in the middle of it all sat the boy himself, handcuffed to the table for probably a 100th time (‘kinky’ he said to the officer who cuffed him, and the man fled the room looking more uncomfortable than Kacchan during the ‘Bakugou shitshow’). With his mom sitting on a chair next to him, looking far too bored for a woman whose son gets arrested on a weekly basis and Trash Bandit occupying the rest of the table Izuku looks to his left, eyes meeting his own reflection in the two way mirror.
He might be handcuffed, but that’s not going to stop him from flipping off whichever officer was currently standing behind that mirror. And if he happened to be checking himself out while at it then, well it’s not really anybody’s business. Izuku’s green hair has grown out quite a lot over the past months, now reaching his shoulders and being even more unkept than usual. The brown coat from the hospital’s lost-and-found box became his second skin, and definitely needed a wash. All in all the boy would describe his look as ‘straight-outta-trash’, which also happens to be the only type of straight he is.
Izuku’s musings got interrupted as the door to the interrogation room slammed open, the sound being followed by what can only be described as a middle aged sigh of resignation and disappointment.
“Well fuck me if it isn’t my favourite detective! What’s up Tsukauchi, did you miss me?” asked Izuku with a shit eating grin.
“Didn’t have the time to, since I literally saw you yesterday. Would it kill you to stay at home and not get yourself in trouble?” asked the detective in the same exasperated tone Izuku often hears Shin use on him. Huh, they would get along.
“Honestly detective, you and your unrealistic expectations. No wonder you’re still single” replied Izuku in only a half-joking manner.
Tsukauchi opened his mouth as if to retaliate, then looked down at the sheep standing on the table and back at Izuku. He closed his mouth promptly, his face morphing into a very accurate expression of ‘I don’t get paid enough for this’.
‘They would really get along’ thought Izuku.
The detective sat down on the chair on the opposite side of the table. He took out the evidence file and laid it down on the table, which wasn’t his smartest move given the sheep that occupied most of the surface. Izuku scoffed at the offending file. Upon noticing his owner’s reaction, Trash Bandit started to chew on the papers while looking Tsukauchi dead in the eye as the man tried to pry the evidence from the sheep’s mouth.
“Do we really have to go through this every single time?” asked Izuku, motioning to his handcuffs to make a point “It’s always the same old drill, I go and do my shit, you guys arrest me, the law doesn’t account for me being quirkless, you let me go. Honestly why do you even bother at this point?”
“Because-” stated Tsukauchi as he waved around a half eaten photograph from the evidence folder “-you really outdone yourself this time!”
“I did the right thing and YOU KNOW IT!” shouted Izuku as he stood up from his seat, the handcuffs being the only thing holding him back.
“Izuku that’s not up to you to decide-”
“Don’t! I get that you work in law enforcement, but if your sense of right and wrong is dictated by the legal system then you have a moral spine of a chocolate eclair!”
“Says the troublemaker who plays a hero-wannabe in his spare time” replied Tsukauchi.
Izuku scoffed at the man and sat down once again. He turned towards his mother who rather predictably had a worried look on her face at the mention of ‘heroes’. It was still a bit of a sore topic for Izuku, even after all these months and she knew it better than anyone else. The fact that it was Tsukauchi who rubbed at the wound only made it worse.
“A hero?! If you were any good of a detective you’d know that this statement couldn’t be further from the truth” sneered Izuku.
“Then HELP me get the truth. All I know is what they showed in the news and we both know that it’s not worth much, so why don’t you tell me what actually happened?”
Well, Izuku doesn’t really have much of a choice in that matter since this IS an interrogation and all of you noisy fuckers reading this are probably wondering how he got here in the first place.
The day started out rather peacefully. Now that Izuku was homeschooled he had a lot of free time, which was definitely not a good thing and led to a boredom driven shenanigans, but more on that later. Now all the teenager wanted was to get something to eat. Preferably at a place that won’t kick him out for going in with a sheep, but well, you can’t have everything.
Izuku was currently walking through the town centre with Shin, the doctor moving almost like a zombie after his night shift at the hospital. They agreed to meet up in the morning and have a breakfast together before the morning rush began. The two were heading to a cat cafe ‘ Nyanny ’, one of the very few establishments in the city that he’s yet to be kicked out of, mainly because the cats there got really attached to Trash Bandit. Afterwards Izuku plans on hanging around UA since a friend of his will be taking the entrance exam and Izuku, being a semi-decent friend that he was, wanted to be there for emotional support.
“Can you not?” asked Shin as he pulled a cigarette out of Izuku’s mouth, who in turn looked over dramatically “Don’t look at me like this! As your doctor I can’t let you ruin your health like this in my presence!”
“You’re my psychiatrist, you’re supposed to be fixing my mental problems, leave my physical problems out of this.”
“A single cigarette can take away a day off your life, is this what you want?”
The teenager looks at the doctor with a face expression that can only be described as ‘fuck yeah’ as he opens up his backpack, retreats a pack of cigarettes, takes all of them out of the box, puts them in his mouth and lights all of them while looking Shin dead in the eye to establish dominance.
The doctor sighed in resignation “I expected nothing and was still let down” he said.
“To be fair letting people down is like my main skill” is what Izuku would’ve said if it wasn’t for the 20 cigarettes in his mouth, but that didn’t stop him from trying.
The doctor eventually gave up on lecturing the teen and the two continued their walk. As they neared the intersection leading up to the train station the streets got much more crowded, although that is to be expected. What was unexpected however was the commotion that seemed to be taking place there. With the amount of people gathered at the street you’d think Beyonce is in town and she challenged All Might to a rap battle, and Izuku would pay good money to see that shit.
Unfortunately there was no Beyonce in sight, only a fuck ton of people blocking Izuku’s way and half a dozen of police cars.
“Hey Shin, wanna check it out?”
“I’m literally on a brink of exhaustion, but sure, why not”
As the two - or three if you count Trash Bandit - made their way through the crowd, Izuku realized that whatever was happening was far more serious than he originally thought. Heroes and police alike were scattered across the whole area, civilians were screaming and something was definitely on fire. He also noticed a camera crew trying to get good scope of the whole action. All in all it was Izuku’s dreams come true.
“I’m betting you all my money that it’s another villain attack”
“First of all, you have no money. Second of all, please don’t do anything rash” begs Shin.
“I would never” says Izuku as he pulls out an axe out of his backpack.
Events like these aren’t uncommon, Izuku has seen plenty of public hero displays as they detained villains on the streets and obnoxiously gained the favour of the public eye. He’d know, he used to be one of the morons staring at them in amazement. What was unusual however was that none of the heroes were closing in on the source of this whole chaos. From where he was standing the boy couldn’t even see the villain in question, but just form people’s reactions he could tell the damage was bad. The fire prevented most of them from getting close and Death Arms was trying to keep civilians away from the area. Mt. Lady couldn’t enter the area and she got stuck the narrow road due to her size and the rest of the heroes didn’t even attempt to get closer. Cowards, was what they were, running around like a bunch of mindless lemmings.
As Izuku pushed past the crowd, dragging his doctor along he finally saw what, or rather who was causing all the havoc.
It was a person captured by what Izuku thinks is a sludge villain. Boy does that give him some late night ideas-
“Get your mind out of the gutter, you weirdo!” exclaimed Shin.
- oh, he said it out loud, haven’t he?
“Kinda hard to do when this thing looks like it crawled straight out of the gutter itself” retorted Izuku.
He then separated from Shin to try and find a police officer and get a better idea of the whole situation. Although his relationship with the cops wa far from great, they were far too busy trying to contain the situation to argue with Izuku and so he managed to find out that the villain was originally captured by All Might last year and he escaped from jail seeking chaos and revenge. The entire situation was just as cliché as it sounded.
He went back to find Shin who was currently sheep sitting for him in this entire madness and using his height to get a better look than him “I know I haven’t been up to date with all the hero stuff, but I think even I would’ve heard of this sludge” he said to the doctor.
“I remember when they were reporting it on the news” he replied “It was the day you were admitted to the ward.”
“Oh”
“Izuku”
“What?”
“I think the sludge has Bakugou”
“WHAT?”
The bespectacled man pointed towards the sludge and as Izuku looked closer, sure enough, it was definitely Bakugou thrashing around and using his quirk to try and blow himself away from the villain with little success so far.
“Huh, so that’s where all the fire came from” mused Shin.
Izuku looked down at his axe and back up at Bakugou, whose eyes were screaming for help. He had a choice to make.
“Well this has just gotten personal” states Izuku.
As he moved forward through the remainder of the crowd, he realised once again that the choice has made itself without his brain’s input, but what else is new. His mind was blank as he ran past the police tape, evaded Death Arms and went straight into the fire.
He realised how ridiculous the situation was. Here he was; a quirkless loser running head first towards the danger with nothing but an axe like an IDIOT, because a bunch of pro heroes won’t do their fuckin job. This is absurd!
Keep running!
There’s so many people around who are much more qualified to save Bakugou-
Keep running!
And they’re doing NOTHING!-
KEEP RUNNING!
“KACCHAN!”
“DEKU, what the fuck are you doing? GET AWAY!”
“FUCK THAT!” screamed Izuku as he threw his backpack at the sludge, temporarily distracting the villain “Today’s the entrance exam! I’m getting your ass out of this, whether you like it or not!”
Bakugou fought against the sludge trying to suffocate him as he took shallow breaths in between his pleas for Izuku to get away. Izuku tried clawing at the sludge without much success and the villain laughed at his incompetence.
“Silly boy~ Your efforts are useless, you might as well say goodbye to your friend now!” sneered the sludge “Look around you, all these heroes at the scene and none of them willing to get close enough to save you. Face it boy-”
Oh, shut the fuck up!
“-you’re going to die soon”
Suddenly, Izuku stopped fighting altogether. The screams of the crowd, the fire, the heroes and the cops surrounding him; they became nothing but a background noise. He stood eerily still and for a second, both the villain and Bakugou thought that he sobered up and decided that the fight wasn’t worth it, until they saw his hand; the one holding the axe shaking uncontrollably.
“You think you’re the one who gets to kill me?” asked Izuku, in a strangely calm voice laced with a drop of sarcasm.
Without any warning the boy held his axe high in the air, ready to strike. Although he looked like an embodiment of madness, his mind couldn’t have been clearer. He knew that he couldn’t inflict any damage to the sludge itself, but everyone had a weakness and Izuku was staring it right in the eye.
“You think YOU are strong enough to kill ME? Don’t kid yourself you slimefucker!!!” screamed Izuku as he swung his axe down right into the villain’s eye. The villain let out an ear-splitting screech and completely let go of Bakugou, who fell to the ground like a ragdoll trying to catch his breath. The heroes were speechless and the police was already calling for an ambulance, while the civilians screamed in surprise. Amongst the crowd stood a tall figure, who has seen more than enough and decided to step in.
As Izuku pulled his weapon out, his movements were followed by a sickening sound of wet flesh, blending in with the noises made by the movement of the sludge. He took another swing at the villain.
“Listen up you you gooey pile of shit!-”
STAB
“-If a fall from a four story building couldn’t kill me-”
STAB
“-NOTHING WILL!”
Before Izuku could take another swing he was stopped by a gust of wind so strong that the villain went flying into the sky. Izuku lost his balance and promptly fell on his ass next to Bakugou. The attack was so powerful that the sludge started to fall down like rain, putting out any remaining fire in the area. It seemed like the whole atmosphere cooled down in an instant. Both teenagers were shocked beyond belief to say the least as they looked up to see the source of the powerful blast.
Lo and fuckin behold, it was All Might himself and the whole crowd clapped. Izuku was brought out of his shocked state as the Number 1 Hero leaned down and picked the boys up as if they weighted no more than a couple of grapes.
“My boy, what you did was certainly brave, but ought to be more careful in the-”
“Zip it He Man, I don’t have time for lectures” spat Izuku, with far more venom than he anticipated. Meeting a man who used to be his idol and a symbol of his long dead dreams was not as easy as Izuku would’ve thought. It’s been months since the hospital days, but it looks like time does not heal all the wounds, at least not the emotional ones.
As Izuku became fully aware of his surroundings he realised that how much of an uproar his arrival at the scene has caused. While most of the civilians were too busy admiring All Might, the police looked like they wanted nothing more than arrest him at the spot like usual. Bakugou was strangely quiet, though Izuku brushed it off as still being in the “I almost died” shock. Izuku knew something about that.
Since the fire was put out people could move more freely and soon enough Izuku was cornered by a reporter and her camera crew. As much as he hated being put on the spot like this and he was a bit short on time, Izuku couldn't help but think bitterly about how this whole situation wasn’t HIS fault at all. He wouldn’t have to intervene if these so called pros actually did their jobs. The fact that he couldn’t see Shin anywhere in the crowd only added to his irritation. In the corner of his eye he could see the police approaching, he needed to move fast. Although looking at the reporter, Izuku thinks he might have a little fun before their race to the UA began.
He grabbed the reporter’s microphone and faced the cameras, putting on his best shit eating grin.
“You people want some news? Well here it is! You see these fuckers over there?” he asks while waving his axe in the direction of the pro heroes “They’re full of shit. They call themselves heroes, yet they stood and did nothing when my friend needed to be saved. Is this what it means to be a hero? To stand around fighting small fries, but the moment something serious happens, unwilling to step in and help those who need it? Wake up people, because this is what your tax money pays for!”
Te reporter tried to pry the microphone from Izuku’s hands and the police was coming closer, he had to hurry it up.
“I’m Midoriya Izuku, a quirkless nobody and you are watching the NHK News!” he finished off before handing the microphone back to the distressed reporter.
He grabbed Bakugou’s hand, looking around in panic for any way to leave the area quickly enough. The villain attack was close to the train station, so he wouldn’t be surprised if the trains were temporarily down. There were people everywhere and the police officers looked like they were itching to arrest him. They were running out of time, he had to get Bakugou to the exam on time. Think, a way out. Quick, no time. No path, no way-
Suddenly, the crowd parted like the red fuckin sea itself, except instead of Moses a car drove through like it was speeding to get to the mall on a Black Friday. It made a sudden turn and stopped with a loud screech right in front of Izuku and Bakugou. Izuku should probably be surprised at this point, he really should, but life was already so goddamn weird, it might as well happen. The car’s windows rolled down and Bandit’s head poked out of the vehicle.
“Baaaa”
“Holy shit, Bandit did you steal a car?”
“Don’t be ridiculous” shouted Shin, who as Izuku just noticed sat in the driver’s seat “Hurry up and get in, you two caused quite a scene!”
Izuku and Bakugou looked at each other, then back at the car. Well, they literally had nothing to lose…
“Except our dignity” said Bakugou, because Izuku still hasn’t managed to get his shit together and fix his muttering problem.
“Bold of you to assume I have dignity” he answered instead.
The two teenagers entered the back of the car as quickly as possible, with Shin flooring the gas pedal before they even managed to get the door closed.
The car made a sharp turn as they drove away from the scene like a bunch of criminals on the run.
“I’m gonna be honest with you boys, I‘m not quite sure what just happened” exclaimed Shin as he drove past a red light like it was his second nature, although it was more likely due to his sleep deprivation.
“We’re in deep shit, that’s what happened” said Bakugou.
“What else is new?” said Izuku, before turning back to Shin “Anyway, less thinking, more driving, we have to be at UA in like 10 minutes if we want Kacchan to still have a chance at the entrance exam!”
“Deku are you crazy?!” shouted Bakugou “There’s no way we can get to UA on time! We barely escaped a villain attack just now, which by the way you should’ve stayed out of-”
“IF I STAYED OUT OF THIS YOU WOULD BE DEAD!” screamed Izuku.
“WHY DO YOU EVEN CARE?!”
“BECAUSE YOU MADE A FUCKIN PROMISE!!!”
The car fell silent as Shin tried to focus on not falling asleep behind the wheel, completely blocking out the teenage drama in the backseat. Bandit was having a time of their life sticking the head out of through the window, feeling the wind in the wool, completely oblivious to the tension. The two teenagers meanwhile were busy having a stare down.
“For fucks sake Deku, is this what it’s all about? Some fuckin promise I had my arm twisted into making because you dragged my ass in front of my parents?”
“The Kacchan I know is a rude, overambitious, self-centered bastard-”
“Are you looking for a fight!-”
“-a bastard that never breaks a promise!” exclaimed Izuku “That day at the hospital...you said you would get into UA and become ‘Number 1 Hero’ regardless of what I said.”
“And you said that I’m not a hero material...” pointed Bakugou “...but those heroes at the scene were pretty useless…”
“They sure were” mumbled Izuku.
“Maybe you were right” sneers Bakugou, humourlessly “maybe being hero isn’t worth shit if a quirkless ass like you can do a better job than them!”
“That’s like the nicest thing you’ve ever said to me, Thanks Kacchan!” relied Izuku in the most sarcastic tone he could utter.
Their little ‘moment’ was however quickly interrupted by the sudden turn that had them flying across their seats, which could’ve been avoided if they wore seatbelts has it not been for Izuku’s life philosophy of ‘No safety measures, we die like men’. The teenagers turned around to see what caused the sudden turn and noticed that they’re currently being chased by two police cars. And it’s not even noon yet! That’s a new accomplishment for Izuku.
At that point Shin just rolled down the window and started to flip off the police “I’M NOT GOING BACK TO JAIL!” he shouted while speeding past other cars on the road. There was something almost poetic about seeing your psychiatrist - the person whose job is to make you into a sane and functional human being- screaming at cops and accidentally admitting that he was in jail at some point in his life. The doctor then turns around and says “Don’t worry, I haven’t killed anyone” as if it was supposed to be reassuring to his patients in the middle of a police chase.
“Huh, at this point we might actually make it to UA on time” said Izuku in a rather nonchalant fashion, leaving Bakugou scandalised to say the least.
“THAT’S WHAT YOU’RE WORRIED ABOUT?! WE’RE BEING CHASED BY THE FUCKIN POLICE!”
“Well how’s that any different than my usual day?”
“HOW WOULD I KNOW? I HAVEN’T SEEN YOU IN MONTHS!”
“Can you two shut up? I’m trying to drive here!”
And with that, the car was overtaken by silence, the only thing interrupting it being the police sirens heard from the behind. For a situation as bizarre as this, Izuku felt strangely calm about the whole thing. It was almost nostalgic, getting to spend time with Kacchan in a civil manner, or as civil as they could get considering the circumstances and having Shin’s support in the strangest way possible. ‘I wouldn’t mind it if all my days were like this’ he thought while reluctantly putting on his seatbelt.
Soon enough they reached the gates of UA just as they were about to be closed. In a moment of panic, Izuku reached into the pocket of his jumper and pulled out a flask, unscrewing the cap and quickly handing it to Bakugou.
“Look we’re a bit short on time, so drink this and go kick some asses, you can process your near death experience trauma after the exam is over.”
“What is this?” asked Bakugou, rightfully suspicious of the mysterious flask that Izuku seems to casually carry around.
“The quil”
“What qui-” unfortunately Bakugou didn’t get to finish the sentence as Izuku forced the flask into his mouth and tilted his head back, making Bakugou drink all of the liquid.
“Ok, so this shit will make you see through time, but that’s normal, you can do it!” shouted Izuku as he clapped the blond on the back and pushed him out of the car.
Both Izuku and Shin watched him run up to the gate right before it closed and they simultaneously sighed in relief.
“You did the right thing” commented the doctor “Your method was questionable at best, but you did the right thing in the end. Not many people would have the strength to help someone like Bakugou.”
“I know”
“What you did was very heroic”
“Oh, fuck off!”
“...so after we parked the police cars caught up with us and they arrested us. Well, me for whatever the fuck that was and Shin for breaking some traffic laws” said Izuku as he recalled the events of this chaotic morning.
“What’s going to happen to him now detective?” asked Inko, because although she might not look like it, she was very much worried about her son, despite knowing that he wasn’t in the wrong for doing what he did.
The atmosphere in the interrogation room became tense as the Midoriyas stared at detective Tsukauchi expectedly. The man looked down at his notes, the evidence folder and sighed in defeat. They’ve been here for hours and it became clear that even the detective didn’t want to be a part of this.
“You’re a lucky kid Izuku” exclaimed Tsukauchi “The only thing we could technically charge you with would be a possession of a fixed blade longer than three inches, but even then it was used in defence of a civilian, and you better thank God that no one has bothered to fix the legal loopholes for the quirkless under the Citizen’s arrest law.”
“Does that mean I can just go?”
“Fortunately yes”
“Nice~” said Izuku “Alright then kinky bastards, uncuff me!”
Right after he said that the door to the interrogation room opened, followed by the entrance of Ignenium himself. Although the appearance of the hero was unexpected, it was definitely appreciated. You see, while Izuku does have a problem with heroes in general, Ignenium, both as a hero and the man behind the mask was one of the most kind and righteous people the boy has ever met and could never bring himself to dislike. And sure the way they met wasn’t the most favourable one, but that’s a story for another time.
“Tensei! What are you doing here?” asked Izuku excitedly.
“I came in here a while ago after making an arrest and an officer told me you got caught doing something stupid again. I couldn’t help my curiosity so I sat and listened to your story” explained the man as he pointed to the one-way mirror. He then closed in on the table and unlocked Izuku’s handcuffs from the surface “Alright let’s get you out of here.”
As Tensei took still handcuffed Izuku out of the room, Inko stayed behind to sign some paperwork that Tsukauchi tried and failed to stop the sheep from chewing on.
The hero and the teenager made their way into the main lobby where they had to wait for the keys to the handcuffs. As they stood around, Izuku with his hands behind his back they were approached by another teenager who looked vaguely familiar and very attractive, as in hot, beefy nerd with dark hair and square glasses that would help you with homework and carry you on his shoulders type of attractive. He stood tall with posture and confidence that the old Izuku could never dream of having, and one that the current Izuku had wet dreams about.
“Nii-san! Mother has informed me that you were at the station, so I came here to tell you about the entrance exam!” exclaimed the boy in the sheer volume of a person with ‘no inside voice’ while moving his hands in an almost robotic way.
“You sure look excited! Alright Tenya, tell me everything!” said Tensei and that’s when it dawned on Izuku…
“TENSEI WHAT THE HELL! Why didn’t you tell me you had a hot brother?!” he whined before quickly turning back to clearly confused Tenya.
“What’s up stud? You dropped something~” said Izuku in a clearly flirty tone as he checked the other one out.
Nevertheless Tenya still looked down in confusion at Izuku’s words, choosing to ignore the way he said it.
“What did I drop?” he asked.
“Your standards. Hi, I’m Izuku~” exclaimed the freckled boy with a shit eating grin as he brought his right hand forward that still had a pair of handcuffs hanging from it, awaiting a handshake.
The other was flustered beyond belief, while Tensei just groaned out in second hand embarrassment from watching awkward teenage flirting with his younger brother on the receiving side.
Wait a minute…

One Moment In A Lifetime
hhhhh okay, first BNHA fic ever, hooray! No clue what the point of this is supposed to be, though, it’s just . . . words. Just ran away from me entirely. Exploring relationship dynamics, I guess? I don’t even know. Hope you enjoy anyway!
Summary: A battle goes wrong in a way it shouldn’t have, and Shouto is not happy. What he ends up receiving, though, is something precious he never expected.
Includes hurt, regret, friendship, and platonic love and care.
(reposted)
*
Shouto usually isn’t one to lose his temper. On rare occasions, yes, when he’s been pushed way over the edge or been offered insufferable provocation or has found himself in situations he can see no clear way out of. It had turned out, amazingly, that Midoriya Izuku (face like a blushing puppy, body like a Greek statue, voice reminiscent of nothing more than a shy deer, personality of an enthusiastically fanatic nerd) was one person who could actually get him furious and throw him off balance (the determination of a piranha that’s just tasted blood, too). Apart from him, though, no single person from 1-A gets him rattled. Bakugou tries - oh, does he try - but Shouto can easily deal with such overt displays of aggressiveness.
Any tendency to back down, to waver, show weakness, has been beaten out of him long ago. Now, he looks in the mirror and is reminded of a mountain lake - still and undisturbed. That’s not a bad thing, he thinks. If nothing else, it’s certainly a safe way to go through life; unaffected by little upsets, little irritations, reserving all focus and discipline for the things that really matter.
So it comes as a surprise, to put it lightly, to find that this - this - has upset him.
“You,” he snaps, whirling around, “are a reckless idiot. What the hell did you think you were doing?”
Fire sparks in his left palm - not the best idea when facing Bakugou, but he pays that thought no mind. He won’t extinguish it. If he has to, he’ll beat Bakugou with his own element. He’d prefer to do so, in fact.
Bakugou backs down, though, looks down and away with a sullen scowl. It isn’t much of a surprise - Bakugou may be many things, but he’s not an idiot, and he never refuses to face any mistake he makes head on - but it exacerbates the itch inside Shouto, the itch to break something, burn something, create some outward manifestation of the frustration and lingering shock (not fear, he tells himself, not fear at all - and hates that he knows he’s lying) that’s burning somewhere deep in his chest.
Midoriya is crouched on the ground, wide eyes, anxious, tattered hood pushed back to hang limply down his back. “Uraraka-san, can - can you rate the pain on a scale of one to ten for me, please?”
Uraraka’s helmet is lying on the ground, pink visor smokey and splintered. One of her bracers is cracked, her belt is missing, and her boots are a maze of dirty scratches. The defect that draws the most attention, though, is the large, ragged hole in her costume on her left waist, where the skin is horribly red and blistered.
Still she smiles, as much as she is able, still she offers Bakugou no hint of resentment or anger in her clear eyes.
“M-maybe six?”
Bakugou snorts irritably, edging around Shouto with a defiant glare to crouch by Uraraka, a little away from Midoriya. He’s keeping his distance from her, Shouto realizes, aware of what he’s just done and ashamed of it, and understanding that makes him grudgingly extinguish the fire that was beginning to burn steadily in his palm.
“My explosions aren’t that weak, girl,” Bakugou growls. “They don’t burn me, but that don’t mean I ain’t aware of how much they hurt. I - “
He hesitates, glances up at Shouto, who stares back unforgivingly, and sideways at Midoriya, who still looks antsy and anxious.
“I’m sorry,” he mutters, glaring at the dirt. “I should’ve been more careful.”
“You should have looked,” Shouto says, the words clipped, “to see who exactly was in your line of fire instead of blasting away because one villain pissed you off. Both Midoriya and Uraraka were already taking care of him. Do you know what his quirk is?”
Bakugou grimaces. “No, damn you, I don’t!”
“Any object, any tool, anything remotely useful will have an effect opposite to the one intended. Since you tried to roast that guy alive when Uraraka was in the way, and she used her quirk to move him, he had the opportunity to touch her and activate his own quirk. And that means no medicine, no cooling pack, not even my ice will help with the massive second degree burn you just gave her!”
Shouto doesn’t even realize how loud his voice has become until Bakugou gets to his feet, snarling.
“I already apologized, you bastard, what the hell else do you want?! Want me to go back in time and fix it? Hah?!”
“I want you to understand exactly what you - !”
“Kacchan!”
Uraraka’s soft voice cuts through the crackling air like a knife. Both Shouto and Bakugou turn instantly, watching as Midoriya helps her struggle into a sitting position.
She smiles again, weak and painful. “It’s fine, Kacchan, it really is, I swear. I know you didn’t mean to. Thank you for apologizing. And Todoroki-kun, I appreciate your concern very much, but please don’t yell at Kacchan. It’s not -” She sucks in a breath, wincing as Midoriya’s gently probing fingers touch a particularly painful spot. She dismisses his hasty apology with a slight shake of her head, and continues, “- it’s not necessary at all.”
Shouto huffs shortly, and Bakugou jerks his head away, scowling at the ground. “Whatever. I’m going to go check that the last of the fires are out.”
Midoriya looks up at that. “Kacchan, don’t forget to check on the guy with the knife quirk! I don’t think he’ll be able to cut through the rope, I don’t think they can reach his wrists from his fingers, but just make sure - “
“Shut the fuck up, Deku, I know!” Bakugou gets to his feet, hand brushing across Uraraka’s shoulder for a brief, hesitant moment, cheeks dusted light red as he does so. “I’ll check on all those assholes, you don’t have to nag me.”
He gives Shouto a glare, and Shouto gives him a cool look in return, but steps aside to make way for him. Bakugou understands, and he regrets it, and that’s enough for Shouto. For now, at least. Later, he will talk to Bakugou and demand to know what had him distracted, what had him riled up, because it’s not the first time he’s been careless like this. It’s been happening for more than a week now, and if he doesn’t get it together, they may not be permitted to work together anymore, as rookie heroes. He needs to tell Shouto what’s wrong, or he can tell Midoriya, or just anyone, but it needs to be worked out before anyone gets hurt again - including Bakugou himself.
That it’s I’ll-Crush-You-And-Any-Dreams-You-Ever-Had-Bakugou that this is happening to, of all people, is, of course, a minor consideration, no matter how worrying it is. Shouto is good at leaving personal desires out of the picture, focusing only on the final goal to be achieved.
He learned that a long time ago, too.
Freezing Bakugou into the world’s most bizarre popsicle until he agrees to talk to (to confide in) Shouto can wait until later, though. Right now -
He kneels where Bakugou had crouched, not sure if Uraraka will be uncomfortable with the idea of being around him, his fire, especially when it’s the reason that the buildings around them, in this part of the abandoned town, are scorched and soot-streaked.
“We need to get you help,” Midoriya says, all wide and earnest eyes. “Will you be okay while one of us goes, Uraraka-san?”
The corner of her mouth quirks up vaguely - it’s all she can summon of her earlier smile.
“Of course, Deku, I’ll be fine. It’s really not - as bad as it -”
Shouto reaches out without thinking, to steady her as she sways, but his touch is, of course, unneeded. Midoriya already has one strong arm around her shoulders, keeping her upright, silently urging her to lean back against the rough block of concrete that is part of a fallen pillar. Shouto doesn’t remove his hand from her arm, though. Useless as the gesture may be, it makes him feel like he’s helping somehow, providing her with some modicum of support and comfort, that he’s not entirely useless in the situation. And it - gives him some small measure of comfort.
“You’re exhausted,” he says. “You were fighting longer than we were, and using your quirk almost constantly. The burn is the worst of it, but that’s not all that needs attention. We need medical professionals, or at least transport to a medical facility.”
Uraraka makes a soft sound that’s something between a snort and a laugh, one hand brushing against her useless phone. “And we just had to run into someone with a quirk that disables electrical devices today, didn’t we . . .”
“I could carry you,” Midoriya offers. “We could be at the next town in ten minutes.”
Uraraka shakes her head weakly, brown hair limp over her eyes. “Already - nauseous from Zero Gravity. I - thank you for offering but - bounding up and down like that - “
“Right, of course,” Midoriya says instantly, forehead creasing with worry. “Then, Todoroki-kun? Is your quirk - ?”
“It’s possible, yes, I can do it. But it would be slower, it would also exacerbate the nausea, and I don’t want to take the risk of my ice worsening your injury. If even the slightest bit comes into contact, I think it would feel like - like fire, probably - “
Uraraka shrinks back at that, just a little bit.
Shouto forces himself not to clench his fist, and continues, “And anyway you’re not supposed to apply ice to burns.”
Midoriya exhales, short and sharp. “Okay. Okay, okay, then I’ll go, I’ll get them, since I’ll be faster. I’ll be back as soon as I can, okay? Todoroki-kun, you’ll stay with - ?”
“Of course,” Shouto says before he even finishes the sentence. Of course, because where the hell else would he be?
Midoriya nods and is in the air almost before Shouto can blink. The thuds of his jumps are loud, concussive, and fading rapidly. They only hear three before he’s outside their range of hearing.*
Uraaka slowly lets her head fall back, her breathing going shallow and her features scrunching up in a way that implies that she’s been trying far too hard for far too long to seem calm and composed, and has just allowed herself to break. To stop.
It hurts, in a dull kind of way, because this is someone bright and kind and good, someone Shouto has fought beside too many times to count, has trusted with his life and been trusted with hers in return, someone who is comrade and friend and just - just dear to him, he realizes, she is dear to him in a way few people are. A bond forged in battle is no easy thing to replicate. And so seeing her like this, in pain, and being unable to help feels like something is squeezing his heart, compressing it until every heartbeat is a subdued ache.
But there’s nothing he can do, so he keeps his hand on her shoulder and resigns himself to feeling jittery and uncomfortable as he waits for Midoriya to return.
There are flakes of ash floating by, the air horribly still. Stifling. The only sounds are distant crashes of rubble that’s decided to fall only now, and the faint grunts of the trussed up villains. Bakugou, Shouto can’t hear at all (for once). He’s executing his mission in unnatural silence. Shouto hopes, vaguely, tiredly, as exhaustion sweeps over him in a wave, that he hasn’t run into any trouble - or killed the guy who’d irritated him so much in the first place. That’s an odd quirk, to be sure . . . it seems ridiculous, frustrating, but are there . . . possible uses?
Shouto’s eyes snap open.
“Uraraka,” he says, softly, urgently.
She levers her own eyes open and blinks at him blearily.
“If my ice would burn you - would my fire cool you?”
Her mouth opens a little, shock sharpening the features of her face.
“I - it - it might? But . . .” She frowns a bit, getting that look of furious focus that only appears when she’s trying desperately to think. “But ice isn’t good for burns, so would it - how would it - ”
“I don’t know,” he tells her, left hand already itching to be set ablaze. “Would you - like to try?”
Her eyes flick up to meet his, and he catches a glimpse of dark fear in them before she forces it back, swallowing.
“If you don’t want to -” he says immediately. He doesn’t want to pressure her in any way.
But she shakes her head weakly, biting her lip. “I think - m-maybe we should. It- “ Her voice breaks on a rising sob. “It really hurts, Todoroki-kun.”
“Okay,” he murmurs, trying to sound as soothing as he can. “We’ll do that, then. If you feel the slightest pain, anything at all, tell me immediately and we’ll stop, yes? We’re going to take this slow.”
Uraraka nods, pushing herself upright. Shouto allows one small flame to kindle at the tip of one finger, holding it like it’s a baby bird.
“Ready?”
She nods again, eyes screwed shut. He moves it towards her side carefully, the sight of the red-gold light against her burned, angry-looking skin making him wince. But he presses on, moving closer, closer, until he’s less than an inch away, and she should definitely be feeling some heat now, even if nerves have been damaged. But she says nothing.
“Feel anything?”
She shakes her head, relaxing a little. “No heat, but there’s like - a cool breeze?” Her eyes fall open. “I think you were right, Todoroki-kun.”
He moves closer, gingerly, until it’s almost licking at her side. “Now? Is it too cold?”
“N-no, it’s - good. It’s - ohh -” She almost shudders in relief when he allows it to press against her entirely. “It’s like cool water, it’s perfect.”
Shouto sighs quietly. “Good.”
He allows the flames to envelop his hand entirely and, very carefully, lays it flat against the burn. He can feel her skin even through the fire licking at the underside of his palm, rough and puckered and blistered, and his mouth twists without him meaning to.
“Todoroki-kun, could you - here?” She points, and he moves his hand accordingly, thinking about how if he had Kendo’s quirk in addition to his own he could just enlarge his hand to cool the entire affected area. But he doesn’t, and he can’t, and so he ends up absently stroking the entire burn in controlled sweeps, taking care not to get too close to the cloth of her costume because he has no clue as to whether the villain’s quirk extends to the clothes of the affected person as well.
It’s - weird. Once the buzz of his shock and anger has worn off, now that he’s doing something useful, helpful, it’s just odd. The whole situation is odd, kneeling on ashy ground in the middle of a ruined town, stroking a teammate’s burn with a hand on fire. And it’s even weirder that he’s doing this for Uraraka, of all people, because he might not be the most attentive person when it comes to social relationships, but everyone who had been in their class knows that there’s something between Midoriya and Uraraka, something tentative and nebulous and undefined that the two of them are too embarrassed to address; something that lasted through all the years since UA till now. And so if anyone should be - uh, touching (petting, Shouto thinks, and shudders slightly, shaking the uncomfortable thought out of his head) - Uraraka’s waist like this, it should most definitely not be Shouto.
But . . . it’s Uraraka. And since it’s Uraraka (as adept at defusing uncomfortable situations, with soothing words and just the right gestures, as she sometimes is at creating them, with nervous chatter and flustered hands) the smile she gives him and the way she relaxes, peacefully, ensures that he settles down to his task soon enough, the repetitive motion soothing away the chaos of battle still churning in his mind surprisingly effectively.
It’s one moment in a lifetime, one incident among hundreds that Shouto will experience in a lifetime as a pro hero. Yet later, when he’s older and more battle-scarred, when the white has started encroaching onto the red half of his hair, it’s that moment he thinks of when he thinks of tranquility, stillness, peace - Uraraka with her eyes closed, head tipped back against cracked concrete, the rise and fall of her chest gentle and steady (when before it had been harsh, stuttering) because his hand on her waist, his flames, are washing her pain away, keeping it at bay. It’s that atmosphere that he remembers, smokey and heavy and silent but - quiet, and comforting, as the adrenaline in his blood slows to a halt and his whirling thoughts slow and settle around a centre of silence.
It’s a feeling he will only be privileged to experience a few times in his life, that feeling of true peace. And he will never tell anyone, but to himself, Shouto can admit that the reason he watches Uraraka’s back more carefully in fights after that, the reason he listens to her worry about how Midoriya might never like her back, the reason he helps her make horrible Valentine’s Day chocolate and trains with her more and reads the books she recommends and -
- and becomes something of a best friend -
- is that he’s grateful to her for giving him that, that single, precious period of peace.
Even if is just - one moment in a lifetime.

The Definition of a Hero (FMA x BNHA, 9)
Notes: It is important to me that Ed becomes friends with the other kids in Class 1-A. (LBR Al is already friends with everyone except Bakugou, who doesn’t know who he is. lmao) Also, it was high time that Todoroki get some of those backwards life lessons Roy likes to dish out.
The Definition of a Hero adapt: become adjusted to new situations
Recovery Girl appeared slightly at a loss as she stared at Ed sitting on top of the bed in her office, a cheerful if not sheepish smile on his face and one of his legs in his hands. Well, it wasn’t really a leg, Ed reasoned. It was a metal prosthetic that he’d been forced to wear since the accident with his quirk. Of course it was upgraded as he grew, which seemed to be slower than average, but after five years it was basically like his flesh and blood leg, minus the fact that it couldn’t bleed.
He could still injure it, which usually involved him doing something terribly stupid or rash. He’d known that attacking Kirishima head on would end badly, but he couldn’t have known how bad. It turned out that the other boy’s hardening quirk was a lot stronger than he’d anticipated. Had he been kicking with his real leg, he would’ve known when to stop, but Ed had used his metal leg in hopes that it would compensate against Kirishima.
It had not.
Instead, he’d managed to bust it bad enough that when Kirishima managed to get a lucky hit in, his leg had broken partly off. Realizing that he was basically done for but not willing to give up unless he passed out -- especially not after that insane battle between Midoriya and Bakugou -- Ed had done the only thing he could think of. He was in an almost blinding amount of pain, but it was only hanging on by a thread anyways, so he’d torn the rest of his leg off and whacked Kirishima over the head with it like a baseball bat.
That had worked at least. Kirishima had been so shocked by seeing Ed rip off his leg, which he hadn’t known was just a prosthetic, that he’d frozen and panicked. It not only had the effect of slowing him down, but Kirishima had let his guard down completely, releasing his quirk and shouting, “What are you doing!?”
His team had won the combat training exercise and now he was down a leg sitting in the nurse’s office next to an in and out of it Midoriya.
Worth it.
“I...don’t know what to say, young man,” Recovery Girl told him. “That’s not something I can fix.”
Ed laughed and set the leg down next to him. “No, I guess you can’t grow back limbs.”
It was still strange to feel the air on his skin where it had been amputated. He wore the prosthetic all the time, even when he was showering or sleeping. It was a part of him, connected to his body and mind like it was just another limb. That was the beauty of Winry’s skill and quirk. Sometimes even he forgot that it wasn’t real. He still got phantom pains in his leg and his prosthetic arm. They seemed to move just as quickly as the rest of him. The only difference was the weight. Made with the lightest metal, it was still more than bone and blood.
Recovery Girl got closer to inspect him. “This is an old wound.” Ed nodded his head. “And not your only one.”
Glancing around to make sure no one was there besides Midoriya and Recovery Girl, Ed pulled off white glove on his left hand to reveal metal. It wasn’t that he was embarrassed or even ashamed. He just liked to keep some things to himself. Midoriya was out of it right now, breathing softly in his bed while he recovered from the nurse’s quirk that was healing him slowly. Ed wouldn’t have minded him knowing, but for now, it felt good to not be seen as someone with a weakness, even if he himself didn’t think it was.
“I, uh, had an accident with my quirk,” Ed explained vaguely.
Recovery Girl tsked and stood up straight. “As long as you don’t now.” She waved a hand in Midoriya’s direction. “I have my work cut out with him already.”
No shit. Midoriya’s fight with Bakugou had been on a grand scale that seemed insane for a high school class. There had been a serious grudge match going on. That explosion from Bakugou was still bright in Ed’s mind. He didn’t know how Midoriya hadn’t freaked out then and there, but Ed supposed that out of everyone here, Midoriya was the one most equipped to deal with Bakugou and understanding him. What a fucking nightmare.
He still couldn’t believe that Mustang had jumped in to keep All Might from stopping Bakugou. It was mad. Bakugou had clearly gone off the rail. Was Mustang trying to teach them or get them killed? Still, Midoriya had beat Bakugou at his own game -- at the cost of some pretty bad injuries, of course. His quirk had broken his arm while Bakugou’s had burned his other.
It was really...enlightening, Ed thought, to see the way Midoriya fought. This wasn’t just a class to him or a way for him to fulfill his dream. It reminded Ed of himself when he’d really began pushing the limits of his quirk. In the end, he’d injured himself severely, but it wasn’t like Midoriya, whose quirk literally hurt him. But to see someone so willing to break themselves over and over again in order to be the best…
Well, it made sense to Ed.
“What can we do then?” Recovery Girl asked him.
Ed rubbed the back of his neck. “Uh, well, there isn’t anything really that we can do. If you could just, uh…” This was going to be painful. He hated doing this. The last time something like this had happened, she’d almost beat him over the head with his broken prosthetic. “You’ll need to retrieve Winry Rockbell in class 1-F. She designed and installed my prosthetics and any upgrades.”
“That’s quite an advanced ability,” Recovery Girl pointed out. She didn’t seem to doubt him though, as she reached for the phone.
“Yeah, she, er… It’s part of her quirk and her family’s business. Runs in the family. I got lucky.” It was a grave understatement and Recovery Girl knew it, but she didn’t call him out on it, instead making the call.
Ed focused on the leg, preparing himself for the worst, when a groggy voice behind him mumbled, “Ed...ward?” and he turned around to see Midoriya rubbing his tired eyes with the hand that been burned. His other hand and arm was in a cast, his quirk having broken it.
Swinging around so that he could face his friend, Ed put his hands on his thighs and greeted, “Morning, sunshine. Or I guess I should say evening. You’ve been out of it for a while.”
“I…” Midoriya blinked. “What happened?”
“You passed out after All Might announced your team won,” Ed told him. “You’re at the nurse’s office. I bet you feel like a train hit you.”
Midoriya groaned but then sunk further in his bed. “Basically.” He looked over at him, his eyes a little more aware, but he still looked close to falling back asleep. “What are you--?” If not for the severe injuries and a very serious  depletion of energy, Ed was almost positive that Midoriya would’ve bolted out of his bed. “Your leg!”
“This old thing?” Ed pat the metal leg lying next to him on top of the bed. “It’s nothing. Winry will fix it in no time. I’ll be fine.”
“Winry?” Midoriya’s eyes went distant as he tried to remember and then it clicked. “Oh, yeah, your friend from the support course. She was nice.”
His eyelids began to droop again and Ed could tell that he was fighting against his own exhaustion. Ed knew it wouldn’t do any good though. When he’d been recovering from the surgery to remove his arm and leg and then the one to connect his new metal ones, it had felt like all he had done was sleep.
“You’re pretty wild, you know?” Ed told him. “Taking Bakugou head on like that. It was crazy. ”
“I had to do it,” Midoriya said, although he sounded almost regretful. None of the students had been able to hear what each team was saying while in combat. Besides those four, only All Might and Mustang knew and Ed had a feeling that even then whatever had been said between Midoriya and Bakugou was truly known to them alone. “I had to beat Kacchan.”
“Yeah, well, you did a damn good job of it,” Ed said. “He looked rocked.”
Still, Midoriya didn’t appear happy about it. Might have been because he was beat to hell. Ed could tell when the other boy drifted back to sleep and silence fell over the room. He was considering laying down and getting a bit of rest himself when the door was kicked open.
“Edward!” Winry shouted. “What did you do?”
Surprised by her explosive entrance, Ed wobbled on the bed in panic and almost fell off of it. “I-I can explain!”
“Quiet, you two!” Recovery Girl hissed. “If you’re going to have a lover’s quarrel, do it outside and not where I have a patient in desperate need of rest.”
That sucked the fight right out of them. Both Ed and Winry turned bright red, mumbling apologies and that they were absolutely not having a lover’s quarrel. Winry shut the door, a lot quieter compared to how she’d opened it, and then walked over to Ed’s bed. She was still red in the face and refused to look at him, which suited Ed just fine since he didn’t want to see her reaction to the damage he’d caused.
“What did you do to it?” Winry mourned quietly. “This was some of my best work!”
Ed gave her a weak grin. “Let’s just say that I pretty much kicked a concrete wall repeatedly for like ten minutes.”
Winry goggled at him. “What do they teach you in the hero class?”
Apparently it was how to take a beating right now. Ed had never felt so sore in his life, not even when he’d been spent hours training his quirk and sparring with Al. The last time he’d felt like this had been right after Winry had connected his limbs. He was not looking forward to that again. Still, as Winry inspected the damage and sketched out a plan for a new leg, he was confident in her abilities. He cast a quick glance back at Midoriya. Now he just had to be confident in his own.
*
“Yo, you’re batshit!” Kirishima exclaimed.
A grin cut across Ed’s face. “It was the only thing I could think of.”
Kirishima shook his head. “I about freaked. Like one second you’re kicking the hell out of me and I’m thinking, ‘Man, how is this guy’s leg not broken?’ and the next you freaking pulled it off!” His laugh was loud enough to echo down the hall, causing the few remaining students to give them weird looks, but he either didn’t notice or care. “I swear I almost pissed myself.”
This time, Ed laughed. “Now that would have been hilarious.”
“I wouldn’t have even been embarrassed,” Kirishima said. “You tore your damn leg off.” He snorted, somehow making it a sound of disbelief. “How was I supposed to know it wasn’t real?”
According to Al, everyone watching the screen had freaked out when Ed had resorted to using his own busted up leg as a makeshift weapon. No one but his brother had known that it was a prosthetic, so to everyone in the class, it was a horribly visceral scene. Even All Might had panicked for a second and was then overcome by pride at Ed’s ingenuity and tenacity.
Only Mustang had seemed unimpressed. “He wasted time and made himself useless to his partner.”
Useless, ha! What did Mustang know? Ed didn’t need two legs in order for his quirk to work. He still would’ve been able to fight and give support. Maybe not as good, but he hadn’t been done for yet. Besides, his team had won their combat simulation, hadn’t they? Mustang just had a stick up his ass and thought he was better than everyone. They hadn’t needed him today. They’d had All Might. What more could they need?
“Does it hurt now?” Kirishima asked.
Ed adjusted himself on his crutches. Winry would need to night to perfect a new leg for him. The more complex the robotic, the more time she needed. She could’ve done it in an hour or so, but he had told her to take her time and do what she wanted. It had been time for him to get an upgrade anyways, according to her, and she had some new ideas on how to improve it. He didn’t know what, seeing as how it functioned perfectly as it was, but if she wanted to tinker with it, so be it.
“Not really,” Ed answered. “It did at the time. I’m kind of surprised I didn’t pass out. I didn’t feel any pain until it busted and and broke off partly. It’s connected to my nerves.”
“So no pain while you were kicking me?” Kirishima asked and Ed shook his head. “No wonder you were going at me like a mad man.”
“It does make me act kind of rash, I guess,” Ed conceded. Winry had pointed it out to him before. He had to remind himself that he couldn’t always fall back on her. One day, she would be doing her own thing and he would be doing his and neither one of them knew if they’d be as close as they were now. Besides, she put a lot of work into his prosthetics. They were insanely complex. He didn’t understand half of it. “I’ve had it for five years so I kind of forget every now and then.”
Kirishima nodded his head. “It’s a good thing you’ve got a cute girlfriend to help you out.”
“What?” Ed yelped, his face turning almost as red as the other boy’s hair. Kirishima stopped and gave him a confused look. “Girlfri-- Winry isn’t my girlfriend! She’s just-- well, she was my neighbor-- we’re just friends!”
“Really?” Kirishima raised an eyebrow. “You two seem awfully close.”
Ed bit down on his tongue and then forced himself to slowly respond, “We’ve known each other since we were little. Our families were really close, so we grew up together.”
“Ah, like Bakugou and Midoriya,” Kirishima surmised.
“Minus the insane grudge match,” Ed put in. “I’m not a complete ass to her for no reason.”
Kirishima smiled. “Yeah, because probably she’d beat you over the head with your own leg.”
He was, by all definitions, right, but Ed wasn’t about to admit that. He knew that a lot of the kids in 1-A seemed almost confused that Ed and Al were friends with someone that wasn’t in the hero course, but he didn’t understand why they weren’t. U.A. wasn’t just made of one class of twenty-two. There were a ton of other students in the school, all of which were rivals or allies in some way, especially the support course. It was like many of them had secluded themselves. Ed wasn’t even sure that Bakugou was aware he had more than five classmates.
It didn’t occur until after he parted ways with Kirishima, who had popped in to check on him at the nurse’s office right when he was being discharged, that Ed realized that the other boy had never asked him why he had a fake leg. He hadn’t even seemed curious and there had been no attempts or hints at prying. It was like it didn’t matter. The only thing that did matter in Kirishima’s eyes was that Ed had done something unexpected and “manly,” which made him cool. It was surprising and felt good.
*
The class was still working on smaller, more precise attacks. Some were getting obviously better while others were struggling. It was clear that some students were quicker on the uptake or simply more talented in combat. He could see some of them slowly improving, but they needed to be better faster. Roy couldn’t help but feel like they were in a race, but he wasn’t for sure what it was or what the end even looked like. There were times when he felt like he was still running. Maybe he always would be.
Roy tsked. “Too big, Bakugou.”
A snap of his fingers and small burst of fire forced Bakugou to jump backwards away from Kirishima. The explosive teen shot him a seething glare, but grit his teeth and went at it again. If it looked like Roy was being particularly hard on him, it was because he was. Bakugou was so used to overpowering people with the magnitude of his quirk that his control would slip if he got angry and he’d start letting off larger explosions that made a few other students around him jump in surprise. With his hardening quirk, Kirishima made a good partner for him.
Still, Roy could tell that Bakugou was getting beyond frustrated. There seemed to be a permanent scowl on his face and he was grinding his teeth so badly that Roy was almost concerned there might be damage. Nitroglycerin-laced sweat dripped from his hands, like it was used to being used up completely and he was making too much. Every time Bakugou made too big of an explosion, Roy would dock points. Whoever had the most points by the end of the session won.
And Bakugou was definitely not winning.
Once again, Midoriya wasn’t using his quirk at all. He’d seemed particularly mournful over this lesson, but was still pushing himself hard in fighting back against Edward. Roy thought back to the punch that had nearly blown that building to kingdom come during the combat training simulation. Could Midoriya not do any less than that? If he could, he either didn’t want to or he was still too wary to use it. Anything close to what he’d showed so far would kill a person. It appeared as if he didn’t want to take any chances. Roy would have to dock points for not using his quirk at all though. Midoriya knew that, but kept fighting.
Ed was doing a particularly good job with this lesson. Now that all the students knew about his prosthetic leg -- and that had been an interesting way to find out -- he was able to show off another part of his quirk. He could transform the metal of his leg into a shield that he lifted up to block a hard kick from Midoriya and then back to normal. It would have been a better technique had it been his arm, which would’ve allowed him to maneuver more, but it was creative and clever. If they were somewhere other than a field, Ed would have free range of any metal around him to use his quirk on.
The next step would be to move them to an urban area where they would have to watch out not only for their opponent but also their surroundings. He’d beat caution and awareness into their heads if it was the last thing he did as a teacher.
Another student doing well was Todoroki, but that was to be expected of Endeavor’s son. Roy would expect nothing less than the number two hero to have trained his son extensively before he even attended U.A. After all, he had done everything he could to ensure that his progeny would be exceptionally strong and that didn’t mean just in quirk strength. Todoroki was years ahead of everyone else not just in strength, but also combat, fighting, and strategy. Clearly Endeavor had spent years cramming as much knowledge as possible into Todoroki’s head.
However, Todoroki was very obviously holding back himself and not just in the sense for the lesson. Roy had noticed it during the last class, but now it felt confirmed: Todoroki was only using half his quirk. He was completely ignoring his left side, as if it didn’t exist. He used his left hand and leg just fine in hand-to-hand combat against Tokoyami, but he was only using the quirk on his right side, his ice. It was the quirk he’d inherited from his mother. His fire he didn’t even consider bringing out, even if it would’ve made things easier.
Was it a conscious decision? Was he trying to strengthen his ice quirk more or did he just not want to use his fire side? Roy thought back to the way Todoroki had coldly eyed the sky when Roy had blown up the baseball in demonstration. There had been a strange look of determination on his face. Todoroki was very impassive for a teenage boy, especially in comparison to Bakugou and Edward, but there had been a hard set to his entire body in that moment.
“Uraraka!” someone shouted in shock.
Roy turned around to see the girl in question blinking wide-eyed up into the sky and followed her gaze. Iida was spinning around in a circle, his quirk unable to bring him back down to earth. Roy’s first instinct was to laugh -- the poor kid looked like a pinwheel -- but he had to push through that, only allowing an amused grin to appear. “Too much, Uraraka.”
“I--” Blush tinging her cheeks, Uraraka anxiously glanced at him and then back up to Iida. “Right, sorry.” She pressed her fingers together. “Release.”
When Iida crashed down into the ground, it was none too gracefully. Still, he stood up and brushed himself off without complaint. He knew that it was his own fault for allowing Uraraka to get a complete touch on him to activate her quirk and send him into the air. If he could learn to use his quirk in tandem with hers, it would be an exceptionally good trick. Maybe combo training would be something to consider later.
“Can you activate your quirk on only part of a person?” Roy asked.
“Um…” Uraraka put a finger under her chin to consider. “I’ve never really tried.” A light went off in her eyes and she held her finger up. “But I can do it only clothes and stuff. I did that during Aizawa’s physical exam to make myself lighter.” As quick as the idea came, the excitement faded from her face. “Which wouldn’t really make much of a difference in a fight.”
Roy shook his head. “Nonsense. Any advantage is still an advantage and even a small one can tip the scales in your favor in a fight.” Both Iida and Uraraka nodded their heads in understanding. Roy felt like such a...teacher. It was a strange realization. Maybe Nezu had been on to something. “Strengthening your quirk will help you expand it in other ways later on.” He held out his hands palm up and created a small flame a few inches from the left before it flew into an arch and settled over his right. “Do you think I had this sort of control right away over my quirk?”
Edward, ever the one to be unimpressed, rolled his eyes. “That’s child’s play.”
“I suppose you’re right,” Roy conceded.
The fire suddenly seemed to take on a life of its own. Though it didn’t grow wider in width, the fire did in length, snaking around the students in a spiral design. All of them froze and gawked at it half in fear and half in amazement. If it they moved towards it though, it wouldn’t hurt them. When Todoroki half reached out for it, Roy moved the line of fire a step away and Todoroki pulled his hand back. After holding it for a few seconds, Roy gently closed his right hand into a fist and the fire faded away.
“Wow!” Midoriya exclaimed. “That was so cool!”
Roy shrugged his shoulders. “It’s all about control. You’ll never be as strong as you like if you don’t have it.”
That sent Midoriya into a tailspin of deep thinking as he turned slightly away from everyone and began muttering to himself, something that apparently happened to him often judging from the way his friends looked at him sideways. Control was something he had to seriously consider and train, seeing as how one use of his quirk broke whatever part of his body that he used. Roy had little idea how to go about that. He’d had problems controlling his quirk and it had gotten even harder after figuring out the fire aspect, but it hadn’t been like Midoriya’s. His quirk had never turned against him.
Realizing that class was basically over, Roy went ahead and dismissed them. It was a good place to stop anyways, giving them all something to think about as they examined their quirks on a different level. There were many ways to strengthen a quirk. Looking at them differently -- like not that they were zero or all -- was one way. It was like working out a specific muscle instead of the whole body. It didn’t look like much progress, but it took time. Unfortunately for them, time was something a hero-in-training didn’t have an unlimited amount of.
As all the students gathered their things and began to leave, Roy noticed that Todoroki was going at a slower pace than normal, his mind elsewhere. Lost in thought, not all that unlike Midoriya, the boy’s movements were languid and his mismatched eyes were unfocused, which was very unusual for him. It was like he was on autopilot, slinging his backpack over his shoulder without even realizing it as his mind wandered. He didn’t even notice that he was the last student to leave.
It was as good an opportunity as any.
“I see your father trained you well,” Roy said mildly.
While neither he nor Riza could be certain exactly what Endeavor had put Todoroki through, Riza had found out through his older sister that Endeavor had been training him for years and that he’d isolated Todoroki from the rest of his family. When Riza had asked about the scar covering nearly half of Todoroki’s face, Fuyumi had not wanted to talk about it. Both Riza and Roy knew what burn scars looked like. All Fuyumi would tell them was that it had not been by Endeavor’s hand.
What had gone on in Todoroki’s childhood? Riza had been more disheartened after meeting her cousin in person than anything else.
Just as Roy expected, Todoroki halted at Roy’s words and snapped out of whatever fog he’d fallen in. His eyes snapped up to Roy’s and he pressed his lips into a thin line. It didn’t appear as if he was going to respond vocally, but he didn’t have to. Those eyes spoke volumes about his internal anger. It didn’t burn hot like wildfire like Bakugou’s or shine like hard metal like Edward’s. It was as cold as his ice quirk, as if he was smothering all the fire burning inside of him.
Knowing that Todoroki had no intention of responding, Roy continued, “But I couldn’t help but notice that you’re only using half of your quirk.”
“I don’t need my father to become a hero,” Todoroki responded in a flat tone. It felt as if he’d thrown up a wall with those words, blocking anyone from going any further. Too bad he was dealing with Roy instead.
“No, probably not,” Roy surmised, “but you won’t be the greatest one either.”
Todoroki’s eyes hardened like ice. “You don’t know that. You don’t know half of my strength. You’re forcing us to hold back.”
“I didn’t become one of the top heroes by going all out,” Roy pointed out. Before Todoroki could interrupt about how he was contradicting himself, Roy continued, “But I didn’t half-ass anything either.”
A mixture of emotions flittered across Todoroki’s face before he could squash them down: anger, confusion, and then disappointment. It was like he had known that this conversation was going to happen, but he was let down that it was actually going on. Of course he misinterpreted what Roy was leading into. Roy would bet his entire salary that Todoroki thought that Roy was going to try to force him or at least convince him to use his fire ability. He wasn’t, at least not in the way the kid suspected.
“I won’t use it in combat,” Todoroki swore. “I won’t be his puppet.”
“And I wouldn’t want you to be,” Roy replied. “All I’m saying is that by ignoring it completely, you’re only going to make yourself weaker.” He began to pull his gloves off one finger at a time. “I’m not telling you that you need to start lighting things on fire and blowing stuff up like Bakugou.” Todoroki rolled his eyes at the comparison. “I’m not telling you that you should even like a quirk that was essentially forced onto you.” Roy flexed his bare fingers like he was seeing them for the first time and then pocketed his gloves. “But if you don’t accept it, then you’ll never become strong enough to truly beat your asshole of a father.”
Todoroki blinked, the only sign of him being taken aback by Roy’s sudden harsh words that didn’t match the cool expression on his face. He gripped the straps of his backpack tightly and looked away. “What do you know of him anyways?” His voice was a little more heated this time. “You don’t know anything.”
“I know what it’s like to be pushed into becoming something I’m not for the sake of someone else’s dream,” Roy told him.
In more ways than one. Riza’s father had seen his quirk as something special and had convinced his foster mother that training Roy would be beneficial to him. A young Roy, so eager to become a hero, had jumped at the opportunity. Roy was who he was today because of that man, but it had taken years for him to realize that he had been used, even if it had also given him more power than he could imagine. That would have been Riza had she inherited her mother’s fire quirk. His life might not have been nearly as brutal as Todoroki’s, but he understood what it meant to be a tool for someone else’s goals.
Whether he liked it or not, ragged pieces of the Incident came to mind. A soothing voice in his ear, a kind hand on his shoulders, a gentle prodding forward into a dark abyss. “You know what you have to do.” The nightmares had gone away for the most part -- sometimes he couldn’t even remember what they had been about -- but the feel of those things had never gone away. The feel of being twisted and used never faded completely.
Endeavor might have been a total bastard and a terrible father for using his own son to complete his goals, but he wasn’t a villain.
“Do with it what you will,” Roy told him as he turned and headed back to the school building. “The choice will always be yours.”

I loved this request thank you! I think I got a bit too invested in it though xD I hope Bakugo’s not too ooc, but I really do think he’ll mature when he’s older and a parent! Also, I didn’t include the daughter being a police officer part because that would require a 15(?) year timeskip at least, but rest assured Bakugo would be super duper proud! Thanks to everyone who suggested names for the daughter! In the end, I chose Natsu.
Word count: 1,314 (under read more!)
"I think we should take Natsu to see a doctor." You confessed to your husband one night. Your daughter, Natsu, was already asleep in her bedroom upstairs, getting a good night's sleep for preschool tomorrow.
Katsuki cocked his head, "Why? Did something happen? She doesn't seem sick."
"She's already five and her quirk still hasn't manifested. Maybe we should just make sure that--"
"So she's a late bloomer. I'm sure it'll come around soon. Or if it's something absurd like talking to animals or ripening fruit or some other shit, she just hasn't had a chance to use the quirk yet. She has a quirk. Or she'll have one."
You frowned. This wasn't like Katsuki, who was normally very invested and protective of your daughter's wellbeing. You sat down on the couch besides him and took his hand into yours. "But surely the thought crossed your mind? I think we should check with a doctor-"
"She's not fucking quirkless!"
Silence. Katsuki's outbursts were far less frequent than they were in his adolescence, but they came back ever so often. You kept his gaze, unwavering, until Katsuki buried his head in his hands.
"I'm sorry." He mumbled - he hadn't meant to raise his voice. "But she's not quirkless. She can't be."
Your daughter's cries filled the silence of the doctor's room. You scooped her up into your arms and embraced her tightly, smoothing her hair and whispering comforting words, but Katsuki didn't hear any of it.
Natsu has an extra joint in the little toe. I'm afraid your daughter will not manifest a quirk.
The doctor's words swam in Katsuki's head. He stared, dumbfound, at the scene before him. His daughter, crying, and his wife, desperately trying to comfort her.
And all Katsuki could do was stare. Heartbroken.
Quirkless people were even more rare in this generation than in Katsuki's. What was Natsu thinking now? The despair she must be feeling must be terrifying…
Katsuki found your gaze. Your own eyes were glazed with tears, but you didn't let them fall. Somehow, even in your sadness and while comforting your daughter, you managed to glare at your husband. Why aren't you doing anything, your eyes seemed to scold him. Katsuki knew he should do something, anything. Kneel down besides his daughter and tell her it's okay, that they love her all the same and that this didn't change anything. He wanted to say that. He really did.
So why couldn't he?
Memories from his childhood and adolescence swarmed his mind. The accompanying guilt flooded, threatening to drown Katsuki in it. He couldn't breathe. He mumbled something and left the doctor's room.
CRACK. He punched the wall. The skin on his knuckles was raw, but it didn't bleed.
God. Why?
Was this some kind of joke by god for the things he'd done? For what he'd done to Izuku in their youth? I deserve it, Bakugo thought, squeezing his eyes shut, I deserve it, but not Natsu. She didn't do anything punish me don't punish her don't make her pay for the stupid shit I did fuck this to hell-
Katsuki sank to the floor. He was so angry. At himself. At god. At that doctor. But not at Natsu. Of course he wasn't upset with her! Of course he wasn't disappointed in her. He loved her so, so much!
"Katsuki." He looked up at you when he heard your voice. Your eyes were still red, but your voice held an edge to it.
"Where's Natsu?"
"She went to the bathroom. Katsuki," you said again, and your husband stood. He wiped his face with the back of his hand. "You have to talk to her. You have to. On top of everything, now she thinks you're angry at her, too…"
Katsuki's heart sank. No, no, no, no, no. That was the last thing he wanted his daughter to feel! "I'm not angry at her! I just…"
Your gaze was challenging. He could sense that part of you was worried that he was angry, but he could also sense you would not allow him that. Your husband would support your child, no matter what. You would make sure of it.
"Just what? Why did you leave when she needed us? When she needed you?"
"Fuck, I didn't mean to-! I'm just so scared… What if her classmates bully her because of this?" What if she meets someone like me?
You took his hand and gave it a firm, reassuring squeeze. "I don't doubt she'll have a hard time but," you held his gaze, "that's what we're here for. We have to support her. No matter what."
Katsuki closed his eyes and inhaled, then exhaled, and did so two more times. Calm down, he told himself, you have to be strong for her. "You're right," he finally said, "I'll talk to her."
You nodded, "I'll wait in the doctor's office, then. I'm close if you need me."
Your husband nodded, and soon you left, leaving him waiting in the hallway. After a while, his daughter came out of the bathroom, face puffy and red from crying. Katsuki walked over to her, and then kneeled down and spoke gently, "Hey."
She didn't look at him.
"Do you want to sit to talk?" Still she avoided his gaze. Katsuki mentally cursed himself. He was such an idiot. "I'm not angry. I promise. I'm sorry I made it seem like I was. Will you listen to me?"
She didn't say anything, but she didn't leave, either. Katsuki took that as a sign to keep going. "I love you so much, Natsu. Nothing can change that. I love you unconditionally, and I will love you forever. I love you just the way you are. Do you understand?"
Natsu's face contorted, lips turning down and forehead creasing. "I want to be a hero just like you, daddy!" She sobbed. "That's… that's what I wanted but now…"
"Hey, hey," Katsuki tried to catch her attention back to him, but she was lost in her tears now. Gently, the man picked up his daughter in his arms and smoothed her hair in (what he hoped was) a comforting manner. "Shh, it's okay…"
He let her cry it out. When her tears subsided once again, Katsuki placed her on one of the waiting chairs and kneeled in front of her. Like this, they were nearly at eye level.
"Listen to me, Natsu. You can be a hero. Nothing's in the way. Pro-heroes aren't the only heroes there are, either. Police officers, firefighters, doctors… Anyone who helps others is a hero. And with your spirit, I know you can be one."
She sniffled.
"And you know what else? I even know someone… I won't tell you who, because it's a secret, but… I know someone who was quirkless who's a pro-hero now. It's not impossible." Maybe she couldn't be a Hero. But that didn't mean she couldn't be a hero.
Natsu tried on a wobbly smile. "Then, I'll help people, somehow. Just like you, daddy."
Katsuki pulled her into another embrace. "And I'll support you with whatever you choose." And beat up anyone who bullies you. "I love you."
Extra: Though the situation at home and Natsu's mood had improved since the afternoon, Katsuki was still feeling terribly guilty. It was years too late, but… better late than never, right? He pulled out his phone and opened a new text message to Midoriya Izuku. Deku. Today I found out that my daughter's quirkless. It made me reflect on everything again, and I just wanted to say I'm sorry. For treating you like shit all those years ago. I don't think I properly apologized for it before. And I know an apology can't change things, but that's what I wanted to say. I guess I never realized how much I must have hurt you. - Kacchan

Second Chance
Chapter 1: A Second Chance
Also on ao3
Izuku had died. He knew that he died, and he didn’t regret for a single second dying in the process of protecting someone. So, why…?
The moment after he died, all he saw was darkness, but, then, his sight was bombarded by a bright light.
“Congratulations! It’s a boy!” Izuku heard. He suddenly became overly aware of how small he was, and he couldn’t seem to stop himself from crying.
He sobbed as he was transferred from the doctor’s arms to his mother’s. Inko smiled down at him, and it was almost a relief to see her, even if she looked absolutely exhausted.
“What do you want to name him?” The doctor asked. Inko responded immediately.
“Izuku. Midoriya Izuku.” Inko smiled down at Izuku, and her gaze was just so full of love and affection that Izuku started crying again.
Soon, they made their way home.
Okay, Izuku needed to analyze his situation. First, he needed to go over what he knew. The facts.
It seemed like he was reliving his birth, not that he actually remembered what his birth was like. He was a baby who just got out of the womb. He could barely talk, much less anything else.
But why? Did he get hit by someone else’s quirk? No, he knew the quirks of everyone around him at the time, so he knew that it couldn’t have been someone else’s quirk.
Was… was it possible that he actually had a quirk? Maybe it was a hidden quirk that only showed itself when he died?
It was probably wishful thinking, that he actually had a quirk this entire time. But, if it was, that means that his quirk was something like a ‘Second Chance.’
Whatever it was, whether it was someone else’s quirk or the possibility of it being his own, he was given a second chance at… life, he guessed.
A second chance at being a hero.
With that realization, Izuku made it his goal to work even harder in this life than he did in the previous one. He will become a hero.
He befriended Bakugo again. Izuku hoped that maybe, just maybe, Kacchan and him could be friends again. Maybe he wouldn’t be bullied this time.
He was wrong, of course, Bakugo was just as fiery and full of sharp edges as he was in Izuku’s past life.
“Deku means useless! So, you’re Deku because you’re useless and always will be!” Bakugo said, and, even if Izuku had already gotten used to the nickname, it still hurt. But, this time, Izuku had a come back.
“...But doesn’t it also sound like ‘You can do it’?” Izuku asked. “I can’t be useless if I can do it! Right, Kacchan?”
“I mean, I guess.” Bakugo was still glaring at Izuku.
At least the bullying was less because of the fighting moves Izuku learned in his past life. It allowed him to stand up to Bakugo more often.
Izuku still didn’t develop a quirk in this lifetime, but that was to be expected. He tried to use One for All, but, of course, it wasn’t there. He was just as quirkless as his last life, except maybe not.
Because, when he went to the doctor, he didn’t have the extra joint in his pinky toe. It was confirmed that he had a quirk.
“But Izuku’s quirk hasn’t developed yet.” Inko worried. “Are you sure?”
“If he was quirkless, then he would have an extra joint in his pinky toe, but he doesn’t.” The doctor explained.
“Um…” Izuku swung his legs back and forth. “I think I know what my quirk is.”
“Izuku! You never told me!” Inko said. “What is it? I would think you would be so excited about finding out what your quirk is that you would tell me immediately.”
“I, I think it might be a resurrection quirk of the sort.” Izuku mumbled. “I don’t know what it is exactly, but I’ve been calling it Second Chance.”
“A resurrection quirk? That’s certainly rare. What makes you think it’s a resurrection quirk?” The doctor questioned, look at Izuku very intently.
“Well, I, I…” Izuku frowned, unsure of whether or not he should actually say anything. Was there a timeline to worry about? But so many things were already different, so he guesses it doesn’t matter that much. “I died, and I came back.”
“Died!?” Inko exclaimed. “What? When? When did that happen? Oh, my goodness.”
Inko looked like she was about to pass out.
“No, no!!” Izuku immediately said. “Like, I lived my life to adulthood, and I became a top hero. And, I died trying to save someone. And then it was like I was given a second chance at life when I was born again, so…”
“I’ve never heard of anyone with a quirk like that.” The doctor mentioned.
“I don’t know if it works more than once.” Izuku said. “Or if I just have to die a certain way to activate it, but I don’t think it was someone else’s quirk.”
“So, what you’re telling me is that you remember everything in your past life?” The doctor questioned.
“I guess so.” Izuku admitted.
Inko was worried about Izuku. He knew it. It might have been the reason why he didn’t tell her anything.
But Inko also didn’t accuse him of withholding information from her, even while she was visibly upset.
“...So you became a top hero in your past life?” Inko asked when they were going back home.
“I did.”
That made Inko smile in a way that was sad and proud and happy all at once. She even had the beginnings of tears threatening to fall.
“I’m glad you were able to achieve your dream. I have no doubt that you’ll be able to achieve it this time around too.”
Izuku didn’t have any doubts either. In fact, he put nearly all of his energy into training for the future, keeping in mind that his body was still growing, so he should keep any intense training to a minimum.
It was kind of difficult when thinking about how many years he had left to be able to get into UA. His last life had been so long, so he guessed the days seemed shorter, so the years went by faster.
Inko helped keep him in check with her frequent worrying. She was very insistent on making sure that Izuku didn’t hurt himself.
Izuku did manage to create a schedule that wasn’t too harsh that his mother was okay with. It mostly involved morning runs and small strength exercises. Inko, of course, made plenty of food for Izuku to keep up with his development, and she supported him Plus Ultra!
Izuku was going to become a hero once again.
