So we're in search of a couple Alaskan Bush rifles. I've been searching around locally, and just had a horrifying customer service experience at my local Cabelas. My thought is a .45/70 and a .338 both in lever action. #henryrifles and #marlinfirearms are leading the pack thus far. Oversized glove levers are preferable as the climate dictates. I'm in need of knock down power with a dual purpose.. Hunting and self defense. I can throw slugs and buckshot out of shotguns already, but a 12ga isn't practical to lug around the bush all day because of size and weight. We've already got plenty of bolt action hunting rifles.
