Greetings, I'm a fairly new gal to the beetlejuice fandom (I've seen the movie and the cartoon back in the day but I've never engaged in the fandom until the musical came out) And English speaking spaces are.. not exactly new, but still, most views they share don't come naturally to me, or I straight up disagree anyway. So, while I can't fully stomach how agressive you are with your views (I get why you are though, and I think you are admirable for how set in your ideals you are and how they are not your typical cancel culture cultists bullshit) your posts about dark romance and why a lot of afab like them and why mass media hates that afab like them give me some food for thought.
So, I just wanted to say thank you? I always felt so very guilty for liking stuff that *my* side of the internet wouldn't even look twice at, because most of spaces that use my language don't care either way, but English speaking side of the internet keeps telling you, you are a creep for liking (And I was literally a minor then I first started feeling like this). I just.. it's so refreshing to see that there's sides of eng speaking fandoms which aren't either a puritists who would devour you for saying or doing ONE minor wrong thing they consider unforgivable, or straight up (usually amab) creeps who find excuses for predatory behavior in real life and are straight up homophobic and transfobic.
It always felt like I either don a persona of being this.. strange ideal of a person with views that I don't fully agree with, blame myself for liking things I'm not supposed to, and keep very very quiet about myself and my interests or I'm joining the other side which is even worse. I, as a young adult woman (can't even drink yet if I was living in America), always felt the need to fit.fit.fit. And now that you pointed out how misogynistic most of the views of those people are, I feel less... uncertain? At least I know there's things I need to think on, and I might've viewed a lot of the things in a way I wouldn't agree with if I had more information. So, I wrote this to say thank you, and to tell you that while people hate you for speaking your truth, your opinions and your strong personality can and will make young adult women like me who don't quite fit, think. It will be reassuring to know that there's someone out there, who is older and more experienced who still likes the same things and is a nice person. Who is agressive, yes, but it's an indication of their strong personality their ability to defend their views who isn't afraid of being bold and loud and use curse words and balantly say "fuck you" to the people who try to shun them, even if I, myself, am not that brave or strong. I used the anon for a reason. I still fear people using my words against me, but the fact that you aren't despite not being part of either group I described is.. it means a lot.
So thank you.
(I'm so very sorry if my anon comes off a bit rambly and is hard to understand, I am still learning how to express myself properly in this language. )
I am picking up the message you are laying down, don't worry about translation issues. Your English is pretty good actually, if you hadn't told me it wasn't your first language idk if I would have known.
I'm aggressive because I have to be as a survival technique. Any show of vulnerability is immediately capitalized on and used to hurt me because these motherfuckers are obsessed.
If you don't stand for something, you'll fall for anything. I stand for freedom of fiction, and for women and girls; and everything that entails.
I've been cancelled and cancelled and cancelled and I'm still here lmao. I'm still popular. I still get messages like these from people like you who resonate with me. Cancelling isn't anything but free publicity for my nasty beetlebabes fanfic. My numbers always shoot after interactions like this.
I'm just saying what we're all thinking and I'm not apologizing for it. These people depend on your fear. Fear is how they control you. "Think/talk/act this way, don't step out of line, or we will use every tool at our disposal to destroy you." I welcome each and every one of them to please give it their best damn shot.
They ain't got shit on me. And they ain't got shit on you either, babe. Don't be afraid of anyone who uses fear tactics to control you. If you're not afraid of them, they lose all their power.
#nice anon#you're really such a sweetheart#i wish i could talk softly and sweetly all the time @ all the fans who are like you#but we don't live in that world

It is so true that the entire fandom has a massive obsession with furries.
And are also converting normies into furries. Sometimes when I see fanart of Sneasler and it’s drawn in a furry-ish way a big part of me wonders if this artist has a sideblog containing furry nsfw with Ingo.
Or those weird hybrid designs. (When I‘m able to look past the furry implications I can appreciate a creative design but I also can’t unsee potential nsfw stuff for a lot of these.) What icks me the most about this is that furry stuff is accepted and even embraced as to blankshipping is taboo and "the worst"…
Personally I’m rather someone who wishes to engage a lot more with the Japanese community since they are still very much have the old fandom culture intact.
(Also when I‘m leaning more towards blankshipper over here it’s because they’re less to throw hissy fits at everyone who doesn’t bend over backwards to their beliefs. They can be just as nasty on some topics)
And so much yes for your annoyance for the celebration of politics in fandom. I don’t know when this has become such an issue (especially when I remember that back in the day in a previous fandom called Hetalia [a series that was based on the idea that each country was represented by a human and being a bit stereotypical (in a way that was funny or made you feel called out)] people were constantly reminding everyone not to include current day politics in their stuff, that was no biggie back when but nowadays it’s normal to use fandom and fiction to push their political agenda on people… Be it characters waving certain flags of countries or beliefs and all those surgery scars everywhere… I don’t wanna see this kind of content. Though I’m at least somewhat happy that so far I didn’t have to see artificial "assets" down below in art.
The only way to interact with the fandom is to mute and block each political movement and only interact with certain content that doesn’t deal with all this nonsense.
I have said it before but I really enjoy sharing opinions with you. While a lot comes off as probably harsher than it’s meant to but I appreciate your opinion and your perspective.
That was absolutely meant to come off harsh because Submas fandom (Volo too) is a nasty little mean girl clique gone wild. That's how social contagion works. You'll have a handful of aggressive vocal petty little twats who will convince everybody that 'this stupid thing is acceptable and yet this other stupid thing that's equally as stupid and harmless as the other thing is not acceptable'.
Next thing you know, the few bad apples who draw top surgery scarred fat furries have the whole fandom thinking that's what everybody is into. Normies might be like, "Well, I actually don't like any of that because it forces me to have a wastebasket I puke in when browsing this fandom, but I don't want anyone to call me a bigot.."
Most fans might be drawn to beauty and good things, but the whole theme seems to be centered around dreck and wallowing in misery (the shipping end anyway. General is more upbeat). Since everybody has blocked me at this point, I'm one of the few who isn't afraid to say what a lot of people might be thinking (like most of you, don't lie. Nobody likes a fat furry chili fart in the face).
Side note: I had to unfollow someone last week because they put up a post about Submas celebrating Pride Month...and yet they had to put the dig in about 'Proshippers DNI'. Hey, Emmet's pronouns list is a mile long! -So what aspect of Pride do they celebrate? Is it okay for weirdos to wear dog masks around kids? Is it okay to give minors puberty blockers? -And yet shipping brother-on-brother action with fictional characters (that doesn't hurt anybody) is taboo? Would you be okay with a grown-ass man exposing himself to a minor at a Pride Parade, and yet a 20/15 year old ship between Volo and Akari is taboo?
Anyway, how about some good old Submas Angst?

Hello!! I want to say hi because I see you interact with Rads a lot, and he also told me you love Pokemon \ PMD :)
From your interactions that I noticed on Rads' page, you sound like a nice person to talk to in general, but also... as of late I've been slowly getting into Pokemon ^^"
I played Black last year (loved it, especially N lol), and now I'm finally getting into Mystery Dungeon too (I'm playing the DS version of EoS via homebrew). I wanted to try PMD for years, but it did not click for me until just a few days ago, so... When Rads told me you're talking to him a lot about it, I was like 'omg I could use some advice and just have fun hearing about the game!!'
so yeah, that's why I'm writing this. Have a nice day!!
hi, omg this is so sweet! i LOVE pmd2 eos and im always way too excited to talk about it. my sister and i played it together growing up - we'd do individual missions and grinding and stuff on our own but as soon as plot came we'd close the ds and wait till the other was around so we could both watch what happened. i've played it a billion times since then, i just think it's fun! it has a genuinely good story and smooth and fun, if routine, gameplay.
(i'm a fake pokemon fan though, i havent played a main pokemon game since x/y and i havent FINISHED a game since platinum. i obsess over the side games tho lol. the pmd games, the ranger games, and colosseum my beloveds)
advice-wise, i can give you a few tips without spoilers i think? if anyone wants to add more feel free though!
reviver seeds are your best friends. they are more important than any other item. hoard them. spend all your money on them. my sister always told me i was missing the 'spirit' of the game by going into dungeons with 12 reviver seeds, but when one of your missions is escorting a low-level pokemon through a dungeon and another is fighting a high-level bad guy, you will appreciate the reviver seeds then.
you will eventually encounter monster houses. always carry a petrify orb, foe-stun orb, or some other item that will affect an area of pokemon. you shouldn't get monster houses too early in the game but it doesn't hurt to be prepared.
pmd2 is a kids game, and as such you won't need to heavily grind. still, depending on your comfort level, it can be really nice to have a few extra levels. pmd2 also is a game where plot events are scheduled - meaning if you go on a certain number of missions/otherwise use up a certain amount of in-game days, plot points will automatically occur. if you want more time to complete missions and otherwise level up/goof off, you often don't actually have to go on the plot mission, even if an npc says you do. just do your own thing anyway, it's fine. they'll keep reminding you but whatever, lol
to that last point, sometimes you'll be on longer missions and will be offered two paths to take from area to area. it will be obvious which is the correct one, as the incorrect one will always be labelled as 'foggy path' 'dark path' 'rocky path', etc, ending in 'path'. that one will just send you in a loop. you can take it as many times as you want to level grind. or you can skip them entirely if you want to get on with the game!
save, idk, 3-5 blue gummis in storage if you plan on finishing the game and doing post-game stuff. it isn't game-changing, it really isn't important, but it'll save you some minor time and annoyance.
there's no shame in looking up a guide for the personality test at the very beginning that determines which pokemon you play as. if you enjoy the surprise and/or actually want to align your personality/pokemon type, hell yeah! but there's a fun list of possible pokemon and it can be fun to pick which pokemon/type you like playing best as. personally, i love being riolu, learning focus punch, beefing it up with ginsengs, and destroying all in my path. i'm also weak to eevee, skitty, and shinx, because these four were the two my sister and i played most.
don't be afraid to use your normal (non-pp) attack, but also don't be afraid to use pp attacks. max elixirs aren't hard to come by, but not endless. however, you Will Not make it if you never use pp attacks. you'll find a balance!
you can control the moves your partner uses by switching them on/off in their move menu. if they have no moves selected, theyll default to the normal attack. im pretty sure they dont use normal attack if any pp moves are selected, though? you can also edit their "battle tactics" - eg, whether they follow u, seek out battles, run away, etc. this can be really useful as the only character you yourself fully control is the main character. make sure ur partner saves their low-pp high-attack moves for important situations, etc.
this isn't a NECESSITY but it helps if you and your partner are well-balanced or at least not exactly the same type-wise. it'll be just you two a lot, and you'll save yourself a lot of trouble if you picked a partner pokemon whose type balances out yours so you're not struggling through certain dungeons.
if you're using an emulator, save states are lovely, especially since dunegons are all randomly generated, but i know some people consider it cheating and don't like it. up to you!
there will be randomly encountered shopkeeper kecleons in dungeons. unless you can get to the stairs IMMEDIATELY, do not steal from them. jesus christ do not. or at least prepare to reload the game or give up on the dungeon.
if you can, take a bunch of missions at once in the same dungeon and just blast through them all in one trip.
play with the music up if you can! it has a deceptively incredible soundtrack.
i think that's enough to be dangerous with! there's more i could add, but honestly this game is pretty straightforward. if you have any specific questions, feel free to ask! this game means a lot to me, nostalgia-wise, and i genuinely love the story and the characters. just let yourself feel out what your favorite play style is. some people like bigger exploration teams and some don't, some people use every amenity in treasure town and some don't, everyone prefers different items and moves. but in the end, it's a kids game, and i know you'll do just fine!

I'm new to tumblr, so I apologize if this isn't the right way to respond to these posts. Just wanted to give my two cents.
People's only exposure to bugs tends to be seeing them framed as dangerous or as pests when this is the VAST minority of bugs. It is hard to grasp just how many types of bugs there are when you aren't looking for them.
For example, most people would be surprised to learn that there are over 100,000 species of wasps. The only thing that crosses through their minds are yellow jackets, paper wasps, or other communal, territorial wasps. Of course those are going to be the only wasps people remember because they hurt! This leads to people being afraid of anything that remotely resembles a wasp because the only thing they know about wasps are that they sting. What is crazy is that almost 99% of wasps are solitary. Solitary wasps are not aggressive like their communal counterparts and almost never sting, if they even can. A perfect, and very common example (at least in the US) is mud dauber wasps. Those are the wasps that leave those little mud pods everywhere. They are solitary and very docile. The thing is, only 1-5% of the 925,000 identified species of insects can actually cause harm to people, animals, or plants.
All that said, even bugs that can hurt you still aren't evil. They exist outside the realm of human morality. They're just trying to live their lives to the best of their abilities. The best thing you can do is leave them be unless they are a direct threat to you. Our planet depends on bugs to support life. They are pollinators, population control, food, decomposers, and whatever other niche you can think of. They fulfil so many rolls.
I am studying to become an entomologist. I have been obsessed with bugs since I could walk. I am lucky enough to live in a house with a wooded backyard. Over the last year, I have taken up the hobby of photographing bugs with a little $40 macro phone camera attachment. I will go out into my yard for hours, looking for the lil dudes that share this land with me. I never understood just how many types of life can exist in one patch of grass and moss until then. I finally got to see multiple species of my dream bug (tree hoppers). I discovered flea beetles, which are freaking adorable. I've gotten to see robber flies hanging from a tree with their two front feet while feasting on their latest prey. I have seen an ant try to pick up a little dome-shaped beetle and fail because this smooth beetle tucked in all its appendages and slipped through the ant's jaws. I've found fungus farming ants in my yard. I've seen globular spring tails chilling together. I've found little junk bugs that cover themselves with lichen and look like little crawling dust bunnies. I've seen bugs that mimic other bugs, lichen, sticks, snakes, and even poop. There are so many amazing creatures you could have never imagined if you never looked. There's so much beauty and value in the smallest animals we don't even know exist.
Here are just SOME of the amazing lil guys I've seen over the last year!
if you learn to love bugs with all your heart the world will feel half as hostile and a thousand times as big

Credit to this post by @enderwalking and some Discord convos with @thequackcity for getting me thinking about this topic again (please let me know if you'd rather not be tagged)
Okay so my short answer to the disc duo "obsession" question is that a good chunk of it is a silly semantic debate. They obviously have a toxic and abusive dynamic, and they're obviously crucial to each other's narratives. Whether or not the word "obsessed" is appropriate is a minor quibble, imo.
My longer answer to this question requires me to analyze why their relationship is the way it is. What I'm going to say here hinges on my interpretation of both characters as being fundamentally afraid of change and instability. Which for c!Tommy manifests as needing someone to follow, look up to, and idealize (even as he chafes against authority he thinks is flawed), and for c!Dream manifests as needing control over his environment.
On c!Tommy's end, it's not exactly fair to call it an "obsession" if his fear of c!Dream is repeatedly justified by experience. After all, this is the person who nearly drove him to suicide, who blew up his home multiple times, who killed him and revived him and gleefully promised to do so over and over again. But his feelings are very complicated, because the man who ruined his life was his friend once, too. Think about the repetition of his exile, the cycle of creating and watching those creations destroyed, and how c!Tommy latched onto the routine even as he spiraled into depression. These events happening in the aftermath of losing c!Wilbur only support his craving for a steady friend. Even after he snapped himself out of that rut, he keeps coming back to the person who abused him, both physically and in spirit. He can't fully rest as long as c!Dream is alive, and who knows if even his death will give him peace. In that way, it's an incredibly lopsided bond; c!Dream's very continued existence gives him power over c!Tommy, whereas c!Tommy can't directly influence c!Dream as strongly or consciously.
On c!Dream's end, the "obsession" with c!Tommy is sometimes misunderstood as a monomaniacal fixation, when his goals are clearly a lot broader, all wrapped up in his quest for peace and unity (whatever that entails...) on the SMP. And I think that's where a lot of miscommunication between the two sides of this argument happens. c!Dream isn't singularly focused on making c!Tommy's life hell, or on possessing him in the most literal way we might think of it. Nor do I think his controlling and ruthless personality is exclusive to just one person or situation.
But c!Tommy does take up a disproportionate place in c!Dream's mind. The kid is an easy symbolic scapegoat for the server straying from the original ideal, given that the Disc Wars were some of the first big conflicts on the server, that he was one of the founding members and arguably the "muse" of L'Manberg, and that he has a (somewhat earned) reputation as a troublemaking gremlin. However, I think c!Dream finds c!Tommy's presence a strange comfort as much as his mischief is an annoyance. Especially as time passed and the number and scale of the wars increased, c!Tommy became a convenient "stress toy" due to his emotional transparency and, later on, the conditioning from months of history. c!Tommy is uniquely frustrating to him, but that also makes him uniquely satisfying to put down; if c!Dream wants to feel powerful, scary, and competent, he can count on c!Tommy's reactions to give him that boost. It's a combination of practical motivations (intimidating the server members into responding in ways that suit his plans, starting with the one who fears him the most) and more emotional ones (feeling control over something or someone in a world that rapidly escaped his ability to cope with its transformation) that make c!Tommy the perfect victim.
And yes, there is once again an uncomfortable awareness that they were buddies once, if vitriolic ones, and that they've remained constants in each other's lives even as they've become bitter nemeses. That combination of chaos and consistency keeps them so horribly entangled, and both of their emotions are so much more complicated than simple hatred.
As a final note, I like the interpretation of c!Dream seeing c!Tommy as a wayward little brother figure that he needs to "correct" by any means necessary and also has fun tormenting, much like one would pretend to be a big scary monster or put a spider in their sibling's hair to make them cry after being irritated one too many times. (This twisted familial dynamic also opens the door for a lot of thematic parallels with c!Wilbur, a more explicit brother figure, though his dynamic with c!Tommy is hardly healthy, either.) But I also think the idea that c!Dream opportunistically ruined the life of a teenager who once admired him and rarely gives a second thought to the harm he caused because he's so obsessed with a "united server" that never truly existed - thus making c!Tommy's devastating trauma mere collateral damage - is very terrifying and tragic in its own way. They're both compelling frameworks to play around with, and I don't think either one is entirely right or wrong.
Anyway, those are my thoughts. I'll leave it to more prominent discduo enjoyers to add on or correct details, but for now I'm leaving it here
#i don't know if i'm saying anything new here but these are my opinions#dsmp#c!tommy#c!dream#analysis#tw abuse#tw suicide#long post#idk if this counts as c!dream critical#i'm doing my best to discuss his motives neutrally#he's just a Very Strange Man

Things I don't like about my fav K-pop groups:
Red Velvet - the fandom mainly. They have a superiority complex that is through the roof, however it has been growing less over the years as the fandom gets older. Also, the small mismanagement of SM with Red Velvet, there have been so many times especially in this year where they say oh yh here's an activity that will happen with rv and then it gets cancelled, like what? This doesn't happen, or at least not as much, in other K-pop groups under SM, I'm tired of it.
IVE - Unnecessary hate that the members get. Like ong where is it all coming from? It's too much. Sometimes, I may understand it but like sometimes it just gets out of hand. Especially with Wonyoung, the strawberry issue was ages ago and people are still angry over it like chill. Liz is getting unnecessary hate for weight gain like are u actually angry about someone gaining weight? You must be bored af. Gaeul got some hate in June for someone on Twitter saying that Gaeul said the n word yet there was never any evidence in the first place for her saying it and these claims were false in the end. The hate is so unnecessary many times. Really. Also, there are rumours that Starship only wants Yujin and Wonyoung (possibly Gaeul as well as she was supposed to go with Yujin and Wonyoung to pd48) to shine and I can see where that comes from. Btw, mini album when? I'm getting tired of only 2 songs each comeback... Another thing is the tension between the girls, it's clear that there is not complete good communication, clearly Yujin and Wonyoung are upset about Iz*one disbanding and they're not over it yet, so it's sad. They communicate with each other not as people who are close but like co-workers almost.
Seventeen - this was difficult to decide because in my opinion everything about Seventeen and the fandom is near to perfect. However, the only problem I have is that they're too perfect. They're too good to be true and I'm scared that we will get a twisted and ugly truth when all of seventeen ends. They have been in barely any controversies and the ones that they have been in were not that big as well. So, I'm just afraid it's going to backfire on the whole load of us, carats, yk? Because no one is perfect and you know it. But, I'm going to enjoy them while it lasts yk?
TXT - I think a lot of MOA's feel this way but the huge change of direction of music, it's too much almost. HYBE really needs to know how to change concepts smoothly so the public isn't shocked when it comes to them, especially the fans. Tbh, I really liked the emo punk they were going for but this new bad boy concept is cringy and annoying in my opinion. Don't get me wrong I love my boys all the way, they're my favourite 4th gen BG atm but yk it hurts to see the inconsistency. It's one thing to experiment with music and another to be inconsistent, they didn't have enough time in my opinion to solidify their sound and that's why it becomes worse, the songs don't sound like TXT and ever since gbgb I've become quite distant from TXT.
NMIXX - scared of the beat drops and the overall superiority complex from people that are obsessed with nmixx and with people that are obsessed on hating nmixx with all their might. Other than that, I love that a lot of people are aware of how talented nmixx is, because the music may not be to everyone's taste but we have to admit that they are really talented especially for rookies. But even that doesn't allow nswers to have such a superiority complex within the fandom, and no we are not going to win roty, I think that's pretty obvious, if it was because of talent, yh we would win but through achievements, no we aren't.
Newjeans - I mean probably obvious but it's Min Heejin and the audacity she had to debut a group filled with minors. I also hate the fact that people try to brush off the fact that they are minors because they are "talented". Don't get me wrong they are, they're your average kpop rookie girl group, and still quite talented but they're minors and talented or not, it puts them in a lot of danger. The world of K-pop is not for children unfortunately, it's very easy for them to be manipulated or exploitation.
Twice - either the fandom is toxic (small minority tho) and the fights with blinks that are completely stupid. Anyway, also ig it's how much they being overworked, I mean they are at least, the second biggest K-pop girl group internationally, but it's still hurtful to see them getting worked so much especially now that they are growing up as adults. Some people can't even accept the fact that they have grown, some people think Jeongyeon is fat on purpose, she's not even fat, that's the normal weight a human being should weigh. She's not fat. Also, JYP old use Jeongyeon as an actual lead vocalist thank you very much.
I'm sorry that the majority of these us about the fandom but I, and many others, don't know a lot about the idols themselves or how they work or what they do in general and it's none of my business anyway.
