Tin Wedding (Spencer Reid x ExWife!Reader)
Tumblr media
------------------
Author Masterlist | Event Masterlist
------------------
Pairing: Spencer Reid x ExWife!Reader.
Summary: You've become friends with Penelope Garcia over the past year, and after much insistence from her, you agreed to visit her at her office one day. What you didn't expect was to run into your ex-husband there. And surely you didn't expect that he - Spencer Reid - is Penelope's coworker.
Word Count: 7.2k (please, stop me!)
Warnings: Yes. I set this one as +16. Mention of Reader being drunk. Curses and some strong words. Mention of sex - oral (m&f). Nothing detailed. IDFK anything about the US marriage and divorce system.
A/N: 2nd Fic for the "We are not gonna make it" writing challenge I was hosting during October with my sis @babymetaldoll. I'm so sorry for the delay, but life has crushed me these past weeks.
---------------
The ding of the elevator signals you are already on the sixth floor. The doors open, and the first thing you see are people going and coming. It's the bustling of a lively office at noon. But this is not just any office; this is the FBI headquarters in Quantico. You never thought you would be in a place like this in your life, but here you are after your friend Penelope convinced you to visit her at work after insisting for weeks.
BAU - Behavioural Analysis Unit reads the glass doors in front of you. This is the place. Looking at the scattered desks on the open floor, you look for a clue that leads you to Penelope.
People walk past you without paying much attention. Maybe you should ask for help. But before you can decide to do so, a voice behind your back breaks you out of your thoughts.
"Can I help you?"
You know that voice. You're sure of that. But wait. It can't be—not after years of not hearing it.
You slowly turn around just to confirm that your suspicions are correct. Standing in front of you is a curious Spencer Reid, who pales when he sees your face. He remembers you, too.
"Oh God, Spencer?"
A stupid question with an obvious answer, but that doesn't take away the surprise of coming face to face with someone you never thought you'd see again in your life.
"(Y/N)? Wow..."
Time has passed, you tell yourself. Spencer looks more grown up. His hair is a little shorter, and he doesn't look so skinny anymore; it even seems there's some muscle under the white shirt he sports. Some stubble adorns his face, and dark circles can be seen under his eyes. But his beautiful eyes are the same as you remember them from when you first met in Pasadena.
"What are you doing here?" You ask, still shocked. Spencer's expression seems pretty much the same as yours.
"Uh. Well, I work here," he explains after clearing his throat.
A Caltech's genius working with the FBI? You wouldn't have expected it. But then again, you didn't expect to cross paths with him after all this time. "And what are you doing here?"
Good point. Why did you come? Oh, yes. Penelope Garcia.
"I'm here to see a friend," you mumble. Spencer's confused look changes to what? Disappointment? Of course, you're not there for him. It's stupid ever to think that, considering you haven't talked since the day you said goodbye and parted ways in that tiny apartment you shared in Pasadena.
And then an awkward silence. What are the chances that after so long, you were going to meet Spencer? And if you're wondering how long, we're talking about ten years when you were both pursuing your degrees at Caltech. In your case, it was the first one because Spencer was already in his third PhD when you met.
Before you can say something else, the one and only Penelope Garcia burst into the room, looking for you.
"There you are! Why didn't you call me when you got here?"
Totally unbeknown to the tense silence, she steps in front of you and hugs you. You can feel Spencer's confused look on you. "I'm glad you made it! We have so much to talk about."
"Garcia is your friend?" Spencer asks, gaze on you, and it's when you realize how weird the situation is. Penelope turns to him, an eyebrow furrowed.
"Of course, I'm her friend. And she came to see me," Garcia scoffs until she realizes something. "Wait a minute. For what reason would you ask that?"
Spencer clears his throat. He doesn't know what your opinion is about people knowing that fact.
"We know each other," you explain to her before asking. "How do you know Spencer?"
"No way! What a coincidence!" Garcia chirps. The exclamation raises the interest of the people entering the bullpen. Some of them approach to where you all are. "Reid? We work together!"
What were the chances of something like that happening to you, you wondered, as Spencer continued to stare at you, his eyes never leaving yours.
"What's happening here, baby girl?" A toned man asks Garcia, who can't contain her excitement.
"Oh, you wouldn't believe it," she announces as two women join the conversation.
Garcia briefly explains to the audience who you are and that she just found out that you both know Spencer, too. After the first impression, she proceeds to introduce you to those there: Derek, JJ, and Emily. From the corner of your eye, you can see Spencer downcasting his look at their curious glances at him.
"So you guys know each other?" JJ asks.
You both nod at the same time as Spencer mutters, "Caltech."
"Ah, fellow grads," JJ assumes. And in part, she is right. Indeed, you met while you were starting your master's degree and subsequent doctorate in the same area as Spencer.
"Kind of," you admit, seeing Spencer's cheeks flush and feeling yours burn too. The guy who was presented as Derek Morgan has a smirk plastered on his face.
"College sweethearts?" Morgan asks in a teasing tone. And he is kind of right, too. You lock eyes with Spencer, and you can't tell if he did or wants to say to his colleagues what you really were at that time. But before you both can even think of saying anything, Garcia's eyes widen in recognition.
"No! Wait a minute! Did you go to college together? You said the other day that you-" she starts connecting information, and you start to freak out internally. Before you can stop her, Garcia blurts. "Oh! Spencer is your ex-husband? You have to be kidding me!"
Shit. How did she figure it out so quickly? Sure, it might be your fault for sharing details about your college love life with her on a night filled with alcohol, but how could you have known she was already acquainted with him? You were careful not to mention any names or specifics, yet here you are.
"Wait, what?" Morgan's smirk turns to jaw slack in astonishment. There is no difference between JJ's and Emily's reactions. Spencer's face is flushed, and so is yours.
"Someone is going to say anything?" Emily asks, bouncing her eyes between you and Spencer.
"Uh, well—" you start, giving Spencer an apologetic look, who returns you an awkward tight-lip smile.
"Yeah. We were married," he confirms.
"When we were at college," you add.
You can feel the heaviness in the air and the mid-surprised, mid-incredulous looks from the people around you. Morgan is the first to break the silence.
"Damn it, pretty boy. What a story you had hidden from us," he says, patting Spencer's shoulder. JJ - the quietest one until now - senses how uncomfortable you and Spencer are with all the attention.
"Guys, why don't we give them a minute?"
After a moment of consideration, Emily seconds the motion. "Yeah, Morgan, would you help me with something?"
"Su- sure," Morgan agrees, still confused but following Emily nonetheless.
"But—" Penelope is still trying to understand the whole situation and has many questions she wants to ask.
"Come on, Garcia. I'm sure (Y/N) will find you when she is ready," JJ encourages, looking at you. That's when you get out of your daze and nod.
"Yes. Yeah. I'll text you, Penelope."
And just like that, the same way people surrounded you just seconds ago, now it's just you, Spencer, and an awkward silence.
"I'm sorry. I didn't know you worked here. I didn't know you were Penelope's coworker, and—" you start to apologize.
"No. Don't. It's not your fault," Spencer rushes to speak.
"I shouldn't have told her about - about," you trail off.
"About you having an ex-husband?" Spencer supplies, and you shyly nod.
"Believe me, it's not a thing I tell everyone I meet, but Penelope, well, she-" you try to find the right words. Spencer nods in understanding.
"Yeah, she can be pretty convincing when she wants to know something."
Another halo of silence passes between you until it's Spencer who breaks it this time.
"So, how have you been? I mean, it's been a while." You nod, still uncomfortable with the situation but just as curious as you assume Spencer is.
"Yeah, it's been a while," you confirm. "Good, all good on my end. Working and living. What about you?"
"Me? Good. Working here at the BAU."
"Cool."
Cool? What does that mean?
A sharp 'Reid' is heard from behind you both, making you turn to the source. A well-dressed man with a serious gaze is looking at Spencer from an office threshold. "Can you come, please?" the man adds. Spencer nods quickly. "Sure. I'll be there in a second, Hotch." The answer seems to satisfy the man, so he nods and returns inside.
Spencer turns to you again. "Uh. I - uh-" he stutters, motioning where the man called Hotch was a second ago.
"Yeah. I have to go, too." You have to, actually, but you don't think you can face Penelope or anyone else right now, for that matter. "It was nice to see you." As you are about to run away subtly, Spencer calls your name. Stopping in your tracks, you turn, and your eyes make contact with his again.
"Would you - uh. Would you like to grab a coffee with me sometime?"
It catches you off guard, but you only assume he's being polite. You think you should return the gesture.
"Sure. Why not," you say, giving him a little smile. "Now I have to go. Bye, Spencer."
And with that, you resume your escape to the elevator.
----------
From the moment he saw you at the BAU, Spencer has never been the same. He never imagined he would see you again, especially under those circumstances. Spencer was so astonished he wasn't even able to start a decent conversation or even ask for your number after inviting you to a coffee.
Also distressed about the interrogation he knew his colleagues would subject to him, Spencer wanders through the BAU halls as if he were not in the present. And, in fact, he is not. After seeing you, he has only been able to think about you and the years you both spent in Pasadena.
A smile tugs the corners of his mouth every time one of those memories comes to him.
"Okay, pretty boy, spill," Derek prompts when he sees Spencer in the kitchen two days after your encounter.
"Uh? What are you talking about?" he turns, confused, to see Derek looking at him with a frown and arms over his chest.
"Come on! You know what I'm talking about. About the pretty lady, Garcia's friend, who happens to be your ex-wife?"
Spencer huffs through his nostrils.
"I already told you. We met in college, and we were together until we graduated," Spencer says nonchalantly as if it's normal. He tries, at least. Morgan scoffs at his attempt.
"Reid. You married her. You just can't tell me you 'were together' as you're talking about any other relationship. She was important; what happened?"
Morgan remembers well a few years ago when Spencer told him about a great love he had while at Caltech and how, from time to time, those memories would come to plague his head. It wasn't hard for Morgan to connect the dots and assume you were the person Spencer was referring to.
Spencer sighs thoughtfully. "We ended it by mutual agreement. We both knew our career paths were going to be incompatible, and we both had so many dreams to fulfill. Our greatest act of love was letting each other go. At least that's how I saw it for a long time."
"But you regretted it at some point," Morgan adds, and Spencer nods. "Why didn't you try to find her then?"
"I didn't want to be selfish. What if she already had her life going perfectly, and I was just going to show like a kicked puppy? It wasn't fair for her."
"Man, I get it, but what about now? You found each other again. Can it be a kind of sign or something." Spencer glances at Derek with an incredulous look.
"Are you listening to yourself? You sound like Garcia," Spencer grumbles, making Derek laugh.
"Yeah. Definitely, it's something my baby girl would say. But, truly speaking, Reid, why not take a chance?"
Spencer huffs in frustration. "I - I don't know anything about her in these years! I didn't even ask for her number that day. I was frozen on the spot!"
"And that will stop you?"
A satisfactory smirk appears on Derek's face when Spencer stays silent, contemplating his options.
---------
Not wanting to talk about the encounter with anyone, you write to Penelope, apologizing for having to leave suddenly that day. She responds everything is fine and doesn't even ask you why, to which you are tremendously grateful.
But as the days pass by, you know you have to talk to her at some point, so you invite her to come over one afternoon.
You have been thinking a lot and rationalizing everything that happened. Of course, there was always a possibility of crossing paths with Spencer someday, but turning it into reality is different. So you conclude all your nerves were out of the shock of something unprovable happening, not because seeing Spencer after ten years made you fall off your balance.
With that in mind, you were ready to talk to Penelope.
Once she gets to your apartment, you first apologize for leaving that day and explain how you got frozen after the unexpected encounter. Garcia tells you not to worry and even says she is sorry for telling everyone about her discovery without any filter.
"It's just- I was so impressed. I couldn't help it!" she explains, and you nod in understanding.
"It's okay. I guess no one expected something like that."
"Right? But I have to ask. How did Spencer Reid become your husband? I mean, you told me about your ex-husband and all, but I'm sorry, I can't picture Spencer even talking to a girl without stuttering, less asking for marriage, and then divorcing? It's beyond me."
It catches your attention how she talks about him. Although you met Spencer when you both were very young, knowing how shy he was, over time, you managed to beat his barrier and meet a wonderful man full of charisma and not so sheepish after all. Has he never shown that side to anyone else in all these years?
"Why so much interest in my marriage? It's been a decade," you ask Penelope, and her scoff sounds a mix of obvious and disbelief.
"Honey, it's unbelievable Doctor Loving Reid has kept THAT information to himself for so long. So now that it is out, it does pick my full interest. Spill. What happened?"
You shrug your shoulder. "It's like I said the first time I told you. We were young, a whole life ahead. Neither he nor I wanted to cut each other's wings."
"But you loved each other!" Penelope complains with an adorable pout. You have known this woman for what? Less than a year? And she seems brokenhearted about something that happened to you and Spencer ten years ago. She's right, though. You and Spencer were mad in love. Unlike what people have believed for years, your marriage was not a result of a wild night of alcohol and passion in Pasadena. You were both quite sober when you went to court that day. Both even had written down the vows you professed in front of the judge- yours on a piece of paper and Spencer in his brain, of course.
"If it's any consolation, the year we were married, we were very happy," you tell her, fondly remembering that time. Garcia rolls her eyes.
"Well, exactly that's what I mean, miss. If you were so happy, why end it like that?"
The only answer you can think of is 'it's complicated,' but that will surely increase her curiosity.
"We wanted the best for each other, even if it meant being apart. As good rational beings, we weighed our options, and the sensible thing to do was to end it."
Putting it in that way, Penelope can believe it. Having known Spencer for years, she knows for a fact his big brain is capable of analyzing every probability of every possible outcome. What seems incredible to her is how feelings - how love - can be rationalized like this.
A ding from your phone pauses your talk with Penelope. You glance at the device and see a text from an unknown caller.
'Hi. I'm Spencer. I stupidly didn't ask you for your number, so after cursing myself for the past few days, I had to find it out. Don't get mad, please. I would really like to grab a coffee with you if you are up to it. If you don't want to, I understand. And if you don't want me to contact you again, just say the words, and I'll stop. But I really hope you say yes. SR.'
Okay. This is unexpected. Indeed, you remember not having exchanged numbers with Spencer, and you didn't give it much thought either, assuming his invitation had been out of pure kindness. But here you are, reading the message and feeling an emotion you can't describe. Nostalgia, maybe?
You narrow your eyes to Garcia, who immediately suspects who sent you a text.
"Before you ask, I didn't give him your number!" she defends as you breathe a deep sigh.
"He's asking me out for coffee," you tell Garcia, and she can't help but squeal.
"Will you say yes?"
"I don't know. Is it a good idea to get back in touch after all these years?" you muse more for yourself than her.
"Honey, only you know what's best for you, but if you ask me, I remember you telling me after you both split up, you were left with a lot of 'what ifs' in your head, and some of them are still floating around. Maybe this could help clear them up once and for all."
Penelope has a point. But now, you have a dilemma in the form of a coffee invitation.
---------
It's just a coffee. Don't overthink it.
You have been telling yourself that for a while as you walk to the coffee shop where you agreed to meet Spencer today.
He is just being nice.
Sure, after ten years of no contact, this sudden encounter in the FBI - with all his colleagues there - maybe pressured him to invite you to grab a coffee.
Still lost in your thoughts, you don't realize you are already there. After taking a deep breath, you step inside and look around. You spot him in a booth in the corner, back to you. A smile tugs at your lips, remembering all the coffee dates you both had back then. It was your thing. Hours and hours talking about everything and anything until the owner asked you to leave because they needed to close.
"Hey," you greet, making Spencer look up to you.
"Hi," he returns, a smile plastered on his face. "Thanks for accepting my invitation," he gestures for you to sit.
"Sure. Why I wouldn't?" After taking off your coat, you sit in front of him in the booth.
"Yeah. I mean, we haven't talked in ten years. And then we see each other at my work, and- well, it's kind of weird, I guess?"
Weird is an understatement, you think.
"You are right. Kind of it is."
You notice there are two coffee cups on the table. Spencer follows your line of sight.
"Uh- I had ordered already," he points to the coffee in front of you. "I don't know if you have changed your order, though."
"Thanks," you mumble appreciatively. "I haven't changed it, actually."
"Great!"
You try to gauge his expression. Is he nervous? Anxious? Because you are.
"Spencer, if you are uncomfortable, we can just go home. There is no—" You can't finish the sentence before Spencer cuts you off.
"No. No, I'm not. Please, don't think that."
"Okay," you concede. "I won't. But you need to be honest with me, okay?"
"Of course," Spencer agrees.
"You felt obligated to invite me here after what happened?" You bluntly ask, and Spencer's eyes widen.
"What? No, of course not," Spencer immediately denies. "I really wanted to see you. It's just that-" he hesitates. You tilt your head, waiting for him to continue. "I just didn't know if it was right, you know? I mean, we never reach out, and then it happens. We never agreed-" he trails off. And you know exactly what he's talking about.
Back then, when you decided to go separate ways, Spencer asked you what would happen if you met again in the future, and you shook your head, saying it probably wouldn't happen. So yes, you never talked about the possibility, and Spencer understood he should never contact you, and so did you.
"I know. We didn't," you recognize, regret slipping in your voice. "I guess I didn't want to think about the possibility back then."
You two know there are things you left out and left unsaid the last night you were together in Pasadena, but you don't think it's a good idea to say them now—not when this is supposed to be a friendly reunion between exes.
"So, since when have you been working in DC?" Spencer asks after you tell him about your work career on the west side.
"Almost two years," you admit.
Two years living in the same city. Spencer wonders if Garcia hadn't met you, he would have ever seen you again.
Your professional career has certainly been prolific; Spencer can tell after the stories you have been recounting. Years of experience and important jobs, just as you had dreamed when you were in college. These are the same dreams you shared with Spencer during the nights of studying and those where there was everything else but studying.
"I thought you were going to pursue academics. When did the FBI happen?" you ask after saying it's enough of talking about yourself.
"I thought that too. And I did it for a while. Then I met Gideon. He - uh, he showed me what the BAU had been doing, and I knew it was my place to be."
Spencer fondly tells you about his early years working as a profiler and how much he has learned. It seems that, like you, he has found his professional calling.
Two hours and three coffees later, you are both laughing about the weird and funny things you have seen in the past years. It feels good, and much of the initial nervousness has dissipated. But there is one topic you both have actively avoided: romantic relationships.
You are curious about it, and Spencer is, too, but neither of you wants to be the one to mention it first. Spencer is who breaks first.
"Are we going to talk about - about that? I feel we have been dancing about the topic, but I don't know if you want to."
You can't help but snort out of being caught and for the subject itself. You are sure your almost nonexistent love life is enough to make anyone cry or laugh.
"I'm still that obvious?"
"You have your tells," Spencer shrugs. You raise an eyebrow.
"I have my tells? What about you, doctor? You have been bouncing your leg the same way you did the day you defended your engineering PhD dissertation."
Spencer's eyes widen. "You still remember that?"
The insinuation of you forgetting that day makes you scoff.
"Of course I do! I tried everything to try to calm your nerves. Do you remember what I did, and actually, it worked?" Spencer's cheeks redden because he remembers.
You won't tell the details, but you recall, as clear as the day, how you helped him to 'decompress.'
"Okay, okay. Guilty as charged."
"So, what do you want to know?" You ask, still not fully ready but resigned, leaning back in your seat and crossing your arms over your chest.
"Are you with someone?" Spencer asks, and you gasp, feigning surprise.
"No beating around the bushes, uh?"
Spencer's cheeks flush, and he can't help it. "If it's out the line, you don't need to answer."
Seeing him flustered and biting his lower lip makes your heart do flip-flops. It's something you haven't felt in a long time—ten years, to be exact.
"If you had asked me a month ago, I should have said yes."
Indeed, you had a boyfriend until a month ago when his insistence on moving in with you was too much to handle, and his frustrated self decided to say a lot of awful things when you said no to him.
Some people would say you have commitment issues, and maybe you have. But in all honesty, until this day, there is no one you have felt secure enough to take that step.
It's ironic, considering you already have a marriage under your belt.
"I'm sorry," Spencer mumbles.
"No. Don't be. It wasn't meant to be."
'Like I used to think about us,' you want to add, but you refrain. Instead, you explain in not much detail every failed relationship you have had. Spencer listens intently, his heart aching to think of how a part of you might have been broken with each failed relationship. He hasn't done any better, though.
"And that's all. As you can see, there is nothing too exciting to remark," you chuckle to lighten the mood. "Tell me about you. There is a Mrs. Reid waiting at home?"
Spencer snorts, shaking his head. "No. There's no Mrs. Reid. The only one who has held the title has been you," he says with a look that makes your breath hitch in your throat. What is it? Longing?
"Wow. I feel honored," you tease, trying to hide the heat rising to your cheeks.
Spencer tells you about the few relationships he's had over the years. In his own opinion, none of them are very meaningful. When you ask him why, he doesn't hesitate to answer. "This job not only consumes my time, but also a lot of me as a person. Not everyone understands that."
He would like to say no one has ever been so important as to make him doubt continuing to work in what he does. The only person who ever made him doubt was you. But instead of saying it, he prefers to end with a "I guess that's why no one has stayed."
Listening to him talk is like listening to yourself, trying to minimize the fact that professional success is possibly one of the main reasons why other parts of your personal life have never flourished.
It was your choice. You both decided to make it that way. But sometimes you wonder if...
"Do you think we made a mistake?"
Spencer's question gets you out of your thoughts.
You look at him, baffled. "What?"
"Do you think we shouldn't have broken up? That I shouldn't have left?"
You pondered his question for a second. It has to do with how you felt at that time? Or does it have to do with how you felt after or even now?
"Honestly? I don't know, Spencer." A resigned sigh leaves your lips. "I always wanted to think it was the right thing to do."
"You never regretted it?" He asks you, and you shrug, not knowing much to say. Instead, you opt to ask him the question back.
"Did you?"
"Yeah. I did," he admits. "Sometimes I still do."
A heavy silence settles between you. The admission that you both had doubts about the drastic decision you made almost ten years ago is difficult to take. It unfurls a whole new set of questions whose answers you are not sure you are ready to hear or say. But it's only fair he knows your truth as you know his now.
"For what is worth, me too. I regret it. More often than I would like to admit."
Spencer's heart starts to beat faster; breath hitches in his throat for a second.
He tentatively reaches out to rest his hand on yours. You watch the action and think you know what it means. His eyes are hopeful. Something you'd like to mirror in your own, but the uncertainty is there, and you can't help it.
"Spencer, no. Please, don't." You try to articulate but not take your hand away from his. "I wish I could tell you I'm willing to try- to try to make up for lost time, but I can't. Even though it may not seem like it, we're strangers to each other, and I'm not in a place to even think about- you know."
Spencer gives a little squeeze to your hand, nodding.
"I know. And I'm not asking you for us to redo our story and start from where we ended. No. But I would love to get to know you again and be your friend."
"Friends?" You ask, brows furrowed. He smiles.
"Yeah. First and foremost, you were always my best friend. My person. Even if we never get back together as a couple, and we don't have to, I don't want to lose you again."
You take a moment to think about his words. What would be the harm? You're at a stage in your life where you don't want to live thinking about those things you wish you had done and didn't. The things you might have done differently. Why not put reason aside for a moment and just be?
You squeeze his hand back, a sign of yes; you're willing to get to know the Spencer in front of you.
---------
Three months have passed since your conversation with Spencer at the coffee shop. You both agreed to reconnect as friends, which has led to many coffee meetings, lunches, dinners, movie nights, and walks in the park. And to say your heart feels full and happy would be an understatement. You've realized how much of the Spencer you met in Pasadena still exists, and the connection that once brought you together has revitalized and is stronger than ever.
Neither of you has wanted to rush things, and so far, you're both happy to be able to spend time together.
Spencer has also opened the door for you to the BAU team, which has been his family for eight years now. In addition to the bond you already had with Penelope, you now regularly attend the girls' night she hosts with JJ and Emily. You've also gotten to know Derek and Hotch better and understand why Spencer considers them like his older brother and father figure, respectively. You've also become a favorite of David Rossi, who doesn't take no for an answer every time he invites you to one of his dinners.
Like tonight, where you find yourself vividly chatting with the girls in a corner of Rossi's backyard.
"No way I could have passed Dynamics and Mechanics without Spencer," you acknowledge when you're talking about the most challenging subjects you had in college.
"It seems a very interesting topic," Emily jokes, not knowing what the hell you were talking about.
You giggle at the memory, cheeks turning a shade of pink.
"I still remember those afternoons Spencer spent trying to help me memorize the Euler–Lagrange equations and the Hamilton's principle. He made it interesting, if you know what I mean," you wink at them.
"I don't think I want to know," JJ muses. Emily snorts at the suggestion.
"Oh, I definitely want to know what that means," Penelope pipes. You chuckle.
"One night, he made me recite the whole equations with his head buried between my thighs," you confess with a mischievous look.
"Oh my God!" Garcia's jaw goes slack, and Emily's eyes widen in disbelief.
"You fucking kidding me!"
"Definitely, I didn't want to know that," JJ shakes her head.
"Well, I helped him with Applied Computer Science. He had to produce a code to operate a string of relational databases while I was on my knees su-"
"Okay! I get it!" Garcia cuts you off, with her hands in the air, as Emily laughs and JJ groans.
"You asked," you shrug, a smirk on your lips.
"Okay, okay. But hear me out. Since we are talking about college time, and honestly speaking, we all have had someone in college, more or less important, with whom to study or do other things," Emily prefaces, making you giggle. "But from that, to marry, and one year later to divorce? How do you get over something so intense like that?"
You have questioned yourself the same for years.
Looking past JJ's shoulder, you see Spencer talking with Morgan, beer in hand, and you can't help but feel the smile creeping on your face when he looks back and winks at you.
If anything, the past months have made you realize what you had back then with him was unique. But what you're having now? It is as unique as before and better.
"I don't think you get over it. And it's okay; you learn to appreciate it and value the chances life gives you after."
The girls follow your line of sight and share a knowing look. When they see Spencer approaching the group, they collectively decide to go inside the house for a new drink.
"All yours," Garcia whispers to Spencer before going in a bee-line with Emily and JJ.
"What was that?" Spencer asks you with a quirked eyebrow when the girls are out of sight.
You look at him, pretending not to understand.
"I assume they wanted a refill," you say with a shrug. Spencer nods and smiles at you.
"And you don't? Do you want me to get you something?"
"No. I'm fine," you respond to his offer. "Besides, I think I've got my alcohol ration filled for the night."
"If you're done for the night, I can take you home if you want."
That's the Spencer you know, always concerned about your well-being and comfort. You shake your head.
"Not yet. Walk with me, though?" You ask, extending your hand for him to take. Without questioning reasons, Spencer nods and takes your hand. The two of you begin to walk towards the pool area, where the sound of the music coming from the house is less audible.
It's not unusual for you to hold hands now. You trust each other, and it's been an innocent way of showing affection. And while the tension of something more has been building, neither of you has wanted to take the next step yet.
When you stop in the pool deck, Spencer moves to stand in front of you, his free hand reaching to tilt your chin with his index so he can inspect your face for some kind of clue.
"Are you okay?"
You nod as your fingers, from your joined hands, absently play with his. A thorough smile tugs the corners of your mouth. Your eyes admiring Spencer's honey ones in the moonlight.
"More than okay," you admit. But Spencer knows there is more in your mind you're not saying.
"Yeah?"
"Yep." You're stretching this on purpose. A smirk plays on your face. Spencer knows what you are doing.
"Good." His voice is amused. This game was one you both used to play back then, testing each other's curiosity and seeing how long it took the other to demand an answer about what the other was thinking. Usually, you were the one who won since Spencer couldn't stand not knowing.
"Have you grown patient over the years, Dr. Reid?" You ask, entertained. Spencer's laughter fills you with a feeling you thought was dormant inside you, but he has managed to refloat.
Not wanting to prolong his torture, and because you don't have it in you to hold back any longer, you decide to speak.
"I know you remember, but can you tell me the first thing I said to you the day I met you?"
Spencer's eyes narrow in search of the moment you're referring to.
-
You were in the library, busily searching through the shelves for a book you couldn't find. Spencer could see the stress radiating off of you. After watching you for a few seconds, he decided to walk over to the shelf, and leaning down, he pulled a book from the top shelf before presenting it to you. "Maybe this is the one you're looking for?" And he was right. Your first thought was, 'How did I not see it before?' and then you realized the weirdest thing of all, 'how did he know which was the book you were looking for?' You didn't know the guy, and as far as you knew, he didn't know you either.
Seeing your confusion, he proceeded to explain. "It was an educated guess, seeing as you have Fuller's, Richmond's, and Helbert's there. I assumed you were in Thermodynamics 301 and didn't have Priest's."
-
Spencer laughs before trying to imitate your voice. "Can I buy you a coffee in appreciation and keep you in my purse for future reference?" You nod, smiling.
"Bold of me for asking that to a stranger, uh?"
"Bold of you for thinking I would ever refuse," Spencer says in a mocking tone to match your joke. You both share a fit of laughter. Once it subsides, your eyes fix on him.
"Bold of me to think I wouldn't fall in love with you after all these years." Your words hit Spencer, whose expression changes from light to serious in a second.
"What?"
"It's like they say. At some point, something has to give. And this is my moment." You pause before continuing. "I can't say I'm sure what's coming, because I'm not. I also don't know if what you've seen of me these past few months is worth enough for you to love me again. But there's one thing I do know. I love you. I loved you, I missed you, and now I've loved you again."
Spencer is speechless. His brain tries to piece together each word you say. You take both his hands in yours, and you can feel them tremble.
"If you'll have me, I want to be the one that stays," you add, hoping your words are good enough to convey your emotions.
You don't know when tears start running down your cheeks. It might be when you see Spencer's glassy eyes.
"I do love you. And I want you to be the one who stays," he rasps before releasing your hands to cup your cheeks with his own, leaning down to whisper, "Let me be the person you want to stay for."
"You already are," you whisper back before closing the distance between you, allowing your lips to meet in a tender, sweet kiss. A new promise and a new beginning for two souls that were meant to be. Thanks to fate, or maybe not. That doesn't matter anymore.
-
As you kiss, part, whisper sweet nothings to each other, and kiss again, not so far away, are two people watching the scene with satisfied looks on their faces.
"Do you see that, Hot Stuff?" Garcia asks Morgan. A smirk appears on his face.
"Yeah, mama. I see it, clear as the day."
"We did it!" Penelope cheers, whisper-yelling, making Morgan chuckle.
"I should never have doubted you, baby girl," the man says, kissing her cheek.
"Of course not. But I forgive you only because I'm so happy our plan worked wonderfully."
-----------
SIX MONTHS EARLIER
Penelope Garcia's curiosity always gets the best of her. She has gotten to know you better in the past months since the IA convention where you met. She sees you as a beautiful person and a good friend. So when you told her on a night full of alcohol about your ex-husband and how important your relationship was for you, Penelope couldn't shake the feeling of wanting to know more, so maybe she could do something to help. Do what? She didn't know, but maybe more information about it would give her an idea.
Quickly typing on her keyboard, she finds a Pasadena Marriage License with your name on it. Checking the date, Garcia notes you had married in the summer before your senior year. It was expected. You already told her that.
What was unexpected, though, was finding out who the person you had married was. Garcia had to read the name twice before realizing the huge discovery she had just made: Spencer Walter Reid.
'No way! It has to be a mistake,' she squealed, fast-reading the information on the papers. No, there wasn't any mistake. You married Spencer Reid almost ten years ago. The same Spencer Reid she has known for so long and works with her every day.
But wait. You had said, ex-husband. Where are the divorce papers?
Typing again, she finds a divorce request signed by you and Spencer a year after you married. So that is true, too.
Overwhelmed by everything she has just discovered, Garcia is about to close the web tabs with all this data when something pops up: it's a court resolution dated six months after the divorce request. The resolution reads that the request has been denied because one of the parts couldn't be notified for comparison to the Pasadena tribunal. Garcia narrows her eyes and types again, looking for an updated legal document granting the divorce request. She finds none.
'Double holy fucking shit! They are still married!'
Without knowing what to do with this new information, she starts pacing frantically in the office. Garcia knows that the information she found wasn't for her to know, but at the same time, how does it not you or Spencer know this? She can't tell you, but she should, or maybe not. Grabbing her phone, she dials the only person she knows will help her with the dilemma.
"Derek Morgan. I need your delicious ass in my office right now!"
And just like that, a plan emerged. A plan to give a little push to destiny. A little push to you and Spencer cross paths again. Maybe this time, for good.
-----------
"And when are you going to tell them about their failed divorce?" Morgan asks Garcia, who is still looking at the couple giggling and kissing.
"Oh, shush. Let them enjoy tonight. There will be time for that."
Derek Morgan shakes his head, laughing. "Okay. You're the boss, mama. You're the boss."

Note
hear me out... spencer reid with hickeys I can imagine him getting all nervous and reader just gives him like 20 on his neck and he puts on a scarf and the next day Morgan tugs it off and l o s e s it poor thing WHAHHA
"That's... a new look." Morgan raises an eyebrow at Spencer's purple scarf with a confused half-smile on his face, like he's trying to be supportive for Spencer's sake but doesn't know how.
"I'm cold." Spencer blurts, avoiding the man's eyes and staring down at his paperwork. He's a behavior analyst, he'd pick his mannerisms out as shady if anyone else did it, but he can't seem to appear casual for the life of him.
"Okay..." Morgan sits cautiously at his desk, "Something eating you, pretty boy? I know we're not supposed to profile each other and all, but you seem tense."
"Nothing's wrong." Spencer dismisses in that same clipped, tight tone.
"Right," Morgan drawls, "Okay."
There's a moment of awkward silence in which Spencer scrawls in information on the form he's looking at, and Derek stares at him.
Then he tries making peace, "Here, uh, lemme help you with that."
"With what?" Spencer wants to glance up, but doesn't want to see any hidden amusement in his coworker's eyes, "I know how to fill this out."
"No, I mean-" Derek reaches over his desk, fingers outstretched towards Spencer's neck, "The- scarf."
Spencer jerks away like Morgan's touch will sear his skin, eyes wide and panicked, 'No!"
"Reid," Morgan drawls, hand still stiff in the air, "What's your problem, man?"
"I- It's nothing." Spencer huffs, "I'm getting coffee."
He stalks off to the kitchen, but Morgan isn't deterred.
"Pretty boy," He calls, rushing to join Reid at the counter, "Listen, usually when people show up with a giant scarf on and don't let anyone touch it, they're hiding a hickey."
"I'm not hiding a hickey," Spencer pours sugar into his coffee by the pound, nearly emptying the container as he stirs it in, "I'm going to file a workplace harassment complaint against you if you don't stop."
"Sensitive," Derek marvels, keeping the hand that's creeping towards the back of Spencer's neck out of the man's line of sight. Then, quicker than Spencer can stop him, he grabs hold of the purple cloth and yanks, revealing that Spencer was telling the truth.
He's not hiding a hickey, he's hiding twenty hickies. Fifty, maybe, Derek can't tell because they run into each other like someone had sucked him like a leech.
He doesn't care about being dramatic; his jaw drops.
"Holy shit!" Derek whoops, holding the scarf over his head and pushing against Spencer's chest when the man tries taking it back, "You're- Jesus, did Dracula get to you? Oh my god," He laughs, not even bothering to quiet down as Hotch stalks in, a stern frown on his face at the noise level.
"Give it back," Spencer manages to overpower Derek, only because the man is too busy jeering to use his full strength. Spencer wraps himself tight in the scarf once more, avoiding Hotch's eyes as he finishes stirring his coffee.
"I've gotta go break the news," Derek rushes out, headed straight for Penelope's lair, "Babygirl!"
The silence in the kitchenette of the BAU is stifling, and if Spencer weren't hiding an army of hickies so dark that they nearly painted him purple all over, he'd take off his scarf for some relief. He's silent as he finishes stirring his coffee, and tries to drown out Penelope's excited shriek.
Hotch makes quick work of the coffee pot, and stands beside Spencer to put minimal cream into the substance. Before he leaves, while Spencer is still sugaring up his concoction, he clears his throat.
"Congratulations," He murmurs as he claps Spencer on the back once, nearly ramming the man into the cupboards he's weakly clinging to, "I have an old turtleneck somewhere that I can bring you, if this is gonna be a regular thing."

Author’s Note: IM WRITING A PART 2 RN BUT WANTED TO SEE IF YOU GUYS LIKED THIS <3 I literally randomly had a burst of inspo to write this and i lowkey love it…
Summary: You’re a waitress at the local diner to pay off tuition in the summer. You have a small crush on the chief of police who comes in to get his coffee from you. You thought that was all it was until you met the resident doctor when you have a mishap and now you’re stuck between two incredibly charming men that both have a little crush on you.
I don’t own these characters. They belong to author/director/creator
(not my gif)
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Forks, Washington was under a near constant cover of rain. You were aware of it when you woke up in the morning, prepared to see the dreary weather that greeted you through the window. You could smell the rain on the pavement before it came, see it in the clouds as they hovered above. You were always prepared for it, always ready for it.
Today, the sun was out. Summer usually calls for something more temperate. You found that those days weren’t necessarily unwelcome, but never your favorite. Everyone went outside when it was sunny. You could see people you hadn’t seen in ages. You never made an effort to see them in the first place for a reason. There was an uncharacteristic amount of skin showing. It may only be mid 70s but everyone suddenly acted like the ocean water was a relief to their burning skin.
You sweat easily, especially in the diner. The Lodge had little to no air conditioning and the sun brought people in droves. Everyone wanted a bite to eat. They all remembered the diner had milkshakes. It was never a great mix for a waitress.
You turned the corner on your heel, giving a quaint smile to Cora, your coworker. She looked like she was going to melt away.
“Do you think anyones gonna leave early today?” she asked quietly behind the counter. You shook your head. She had the coffee pot in her hand and was holding it tightly so it didn’t spill. You looked around the packed diner, laughter bubbling from sections where it normally was silent. You shook your head, giving her a sad look.
“We’re in for one.”
“I should’ve called out,” she muttered. “You should’ve called out. This place needs us.” You shook your head.
“You’ve gotta put food on the table,” you reminded her. She had a kid who was going into middle school. You had met her when Cora brought her in, her headphones stuck in her ears and reading some trashy teen novel.
“Always the voice of reason,” she muttered. “Plus, you gotta pay tuition.”
“Don’t remind me.”
You were going to college in Seattle but always worked the summers back in Forks. You loved the little town despite its insanity. You found that most of it was quiet, even on louder days. Plus, it was always easy to find a job back home. You were practically shoved the waitress apron when you returned this summer. You had been doing it since you graduated high school, always trying to find something to keep yourself occupied. You were coming upon your senior year in college and the extra money helped immensely.
“Hey, your boyfriends here,” Cora teased. She pushed herself off the counter to refill someone’s coffee cup. You furrowed your brows in confusion even though you knew exactly who she meant.
You watched as chief of police Charlie Swan walked through the doors with a clink of the bell above his head. He met your eyes and gave you an awkward half wave, which you returned slightly more enthusiastically. He walked up to the counter, squeezing between the people sitting there. Someone said hello to him and he gave them a nod in acknowledgment.
“You guys are busy today huh?” he questioned, scoffing.
“Just a bit,” you admitted. His presence never ceased to bring butterflies to your stomach. Maybe you were harboring a small/not so small crush on the sheriff but you tried your best not to show it. You assured Cora it was just something silly for you to feel as you passed through your work day. Still, her eyes lingered on yours as she went around the counter to greet someone else because she knew you were busy. “It’s the sun.”
“Brings out all the loonies,” he said.
“I imagine you’re busy out there too.” He was always scanning around to make sure no one was doing anything wrong. His eyes flicked from you to the people beside him, then back to you.
“Taking my 15.”
“Just to see lil ol me?” you teased. Even as the words left your mouth you felt self conscious of them. This time though, he gave a half smile.
“You make the best coffee I’ve ever had,” he promised. You tried not to get flustered.
“Well, it looks like you need a double today, Sheriff.”
“Charlie, how many times do I have to tell you?” You rolled your eyes. He leaned against the diner counter even though there were no seats. You turned around, every other table lost in your mind. Cora would help you out until he left.
“Well Charlie, it might be too hot for a hot coffee. You could’ve gone to one of those fancy coffee shops,” you offered, grabbing a coffee pot.
“Yeah, can you imagine me ordering there? I have a hard enough time with you.”
“I think I get what you mean by now,” you joked. You poured him a cup and grabbed three sugars and two creams. “Anything else?”
“You always this quick with your service?” he questioned, looking at the people down the line who hadn’t gotten their food.
“I’m just the coffee girl with a pretty smile. I don’t control the food orders.” You handed him a stirring stick as he opened his sugar packets. “Plus, you’re the chief of police Charlie. I don’t wanna get arrested.” He chuckled, a real genuine laugh.
“I think I’ll let you off for this one.” You smiled at your success. The laugh was guaranteed to be the highlight of your shift.
“Thanks Charlie.” You turned back to the kitchen which was starting to call things out. “Anything else?”
“No ma’am.” He grabbed some cash out of his wallet. “Keep the change.”
“You’re my favorite customer Charlie,” you joked at his more than generous tip of 100%. He did a little salute with his finger and raised the cup to you.
“Go do your job otherwise you’re bound to get more angry customers than I am.”
You nodded once and bowed out of the conversation gracefully. You grabbed the food from behind you and started to bring it out. Cora gave you a look as you passed her, the smile plastered on your face a clear tell of your conversation.
“Peach cobbler,” you said to one of your regulars. She was a small old lady who always came in on Saturdays, at exactly the same time. You enjoyed talking with her and catching up on her life. She got the same thing each time and the consistency was something you appreciated. “Sorry it’s been slower today Miss. Heidi. The heat has the whole of Forks out!” She shook her head, brushing you off.
“No worries at all,” she assured you. “It’s not like I’m not gonna come back.” You shared in her shaky laughter. She picked up her fork just as you were about to leave and pointed it at Charlie. “You making heart eyes at the chief over there sweetheart?” You flushed immediately. Maybe you weren’t so great at hiding it.
“Maybe. But keep your mouth shut Heidi,” you whispered with a smile. She chuckled. Her eyes lingered on Charlie who was finishing his coffee already. He had started a conversation with the man beside him. Charlie seemed to know everyone in town.
“Aren’t you a little young for him?” You rolled your eyes.
“It’s perfectly constenting and legal,” you assured her. “I’m plenty older than his daughter if that’s what you’re gonna say.”
“I was gonna mention.” Her eyes wrinkled at the edges, shaking her head. Her movements didn’t feel like she was disagreeing with you. More so that she was gossiping with a friend, just girls being girls. “He had his heart broken by her mother, you know. He’s a good man.”
“Is that your consent Heidi? Because I don’t even know if he feels the same way.” Your voice was lighthearted. She grabbed your hand, her saggy skin feeling comforting.
“I wouldn’t worry too much sweetheart.” You scrunched your face a little and shook off her words. You were still on the clock.
“Enjoy your peach cobbler Heidi.”
-
You brushed your hair out of your face. The sun had finally subsided for the evening, giving way for the clouds. You embraced their presence, appreciating the way that the cool air felt on your overworked skin. Cora was still hanging around after her shift, waiting for her husband to come pick her up. You sat on the back steps of The Lodge, watching the trees sway.
“The air feels so crisp,” you muttered.
“You say the weirdest things,” she grumbled, laughing. She was leaning against the building. “It’s the trees.”
“I know.” You were going to leave right after work and finally drive back home but you needed a moment to sit and enjoy the day. It had been a long shift. Cora and you were officially trauma bonded.
“How was the chief?”
“Good,” you promised. “Sweet.”
“A guy can be sweet and catch criminals?”
“He’s assertive,” you argued. When Cora laughed she did it with her whole chest.
“Honey, you’re down bad.” You rolled your eyes and stood up. Cora’s eyes followed you as you did so, turning back to the door inside the diner. “You’re goin back into that hellhole?”
“Forgot my phone,” you said. “Also, I am not. It’s a work crush. I’m entitled to one! Just like you like the produce guy!”
“I do not like the produce guy. I think he’s hot. Big difference!” You rolled your eyes as you opened the door back inside. The heat hit you again, unpleasantly. You had to weave through the cooks to get back to the front. You couldn’t remember when you had put your phone down. You were making a phone call during your break. Maybe you had left it on hte steps outside after all?
“Hey Jerry?!” you called to the cook in the back.
“What?!”
“You seen my phone?”
“No! All I’ve seen are burgers!” You rolled your eyes harder this time and dipped underneath the counter to see if you had put it with the sugars and stuff. You let out an annoyed groan when it wasn’t there.
You turned too quick and ran right into the closing waitress. She was holding a hot pot of coffee and effectively spilled it all over you. You gasped involuntarily, the feeling of scorching coffee seeping through your clothes. The gasp turned into a seethe as you packed up. You could hear her speaking, the high pitched, “I’m sorry, I’m sorry!” reverberating off your eardrums. You had dropped coffee on yourself before. All you could think of was that you needed a towel and some cold water.
You turned on a dime and walked back to the kitchen. You turned on the sink back there and fumbled your hand around for a towel to use.
“Jerry, towel,” you mumbled, the burning skin now setting into a tingle. He turned his head around and saw you. He started to fumble around. You walked in front of him to grab the towel and just barely lost your balance, causing your hand to fly up onto the table.
Right onto the stove.
This time you yelped. The coffee was already forgotten as there was now more of an issue at hand.
“Woah dollface!” Jerry exclaimed. He grabbed your wrist because you were just staring at your red hand. You had put your entire palm down. You looked up at him, tears staining your eyes from pain, and he brought you over to the sink.
“Oh fuck,” you groaned as he put it under the cold water. It didn’t subside any pain, just added another sensation. “Jerry that hurts!”
“Hey Y/N, I have your phone in my apron.” Cora came through the door to witness you breathing heavily next to the sink, Jerry the cook practically holding you down.
“She burned her hand on the stove,” he explained.
“She spilled coffee on me,” you blubbered childishly. You could feel all your body parts at once, like you were on fire. You had no brain power to say anything else.
“Oh Jesus,” Cora muttered. She rushed forward, grabbing your wrist to look at it. “You gotta get this checked out honey.” You gave her a somber looking face. “I know, I know. I’ll take you. Where’s your car keys?” You reached in your apron with your non burnt hand. It was soaking wet from the coffee.
“Is she okay?” the waitress asked, sticking her head through the window.
“She burned her hand on the stove,” Jerry said.
“She what?!”
Cora put her hand on your back, leading you out the door. You took deep breaths, in through your nose and out through your mouth. You were fine. You were gonna be fine.
“I’ll be okay,” you whispered. “You have to g-”
“I’ll have Steven do it,” she said. Her husband. You gave her a look of pure thankfulness as she helped you into the passenger seat of her car.
“I really don’t have to go to the hospital over this,” you tried to say.
“I know you don’t. But I think it’s safer than waiting.” You put your head against your headrest.
-
Cora dragged you by your free arm to the front desk. She was the one who gave your name and your information as you stood beside her, holding your hand. You looked like a mess, given the coffee all over you. You were sure this could all just be fixed by some water and ointment from the store but Cora insisted.
She rambled on about how a family member hadn’t gone in for a burn and it ended up being more severe then they thought, damaging below the skin. Her words were not comforting.
Eventually they called you back to be looked at. You sat on an exam table with a thin paper on top. A nurse had come in to check on you and give you something for your hand while you waited for the doctor.
You were in a row of beds. Cora pulled the curtains aside to give you privacy.
“I really don’t think that’s necessary,” you said.
“They don't get to know all your business. HIPAA or whatever.” You squinted.
“I don’t think-”
“Ladies.” Carlisle Cullen stepped through the curtain at the open side. He was holding a clipboard, a charming smile plastered on his face. Your breath hitched at the sight of him. He was gorgeous. “Y/N, I hear you burned your hand.” You nodded.
“And her chest,” Cora muttered. She must have noticed Carlisle’s looks as well. Or maybe she just noticed your reaction to him. You cleared your throat.
“I had coffee spilled on me.”
“No, you should check it out. It’s bad.” You gave a look. Carlisle’s smile remained, shaking his head. You had heard of him but never had a reason to come out and see him. You wouldn’t even call this a valid reason.
“Sounds like an awful case of bad luck.” You nodded. “Can I take a look?” He sat on a spinny chair and pulled it towards you. You extended your hand to him.
“I’m gonna go call Steven,” she said to you. You nodded. She patted your back, her eyes lingering on your doctor even as she left. Carlisle held your hand in his, gently looking it over. You looked down at him.
“A stove did this?”
“Yeah. It was dumb,” you promised. “I lost my balance looking for a rag for the coffee burn.”
“And that’s okay?” You nodded.
“I think. I mean, my hand feels way worse,” you assured him.
“Your friend seems to think otherwise.”
“Cora’s dramatic by nature.” He laughed gently.
“Well the stove fought back.” He wheeled backwards towards the table beside your bed. “It looks like second degree burns on your hand. I’ll send you home with some ointment for it and you’ll wanna wrap it up so that you don’t get it caught on your clothes or anything.” You nodded. “I’ll wrap it for you first, show you how to do it.”
“Thank you.”
“Of course.” He stood up and fumbled in the desks drawer. “Are you sure you don’t want me to check on the coffee burns?” He glanced back at you. You looked down at your shirt. It had mostly gotten your stomach. You could still feel pain there, probably driven by the fact you never got to clean it off.
“If you think it’ll help?”
“Stomach burns are interesting just because of their placement. It’s harder to wrap them. I think it would be beneficial for me to make sure they’re only first degree, if anything.” You nodded. You would listen to him read the phone book.
“Okay.” He walked back over. Before even touching your shirt he made eye contact with you.
“Only if you’re comfortable. I can wait till your friend comes back if you want me to.” You shook your head.
“I’m okay!” you promised. You cleared your throat and grabbed the hem of your shirt. You carefully lifted it up over your torso, holding it just above the wet spot. Carlisle’s eyes went down to your body.
“You said the hand hurt more?”
“By far.”
“Can I touch you?” Please. You cleared your throat again.
“Sure.” He put an icy hand on your hip, lightly brushing your burn with his thumb.
“How much does that hurt? Scale one to ten?”
“Five.” He applied more pressure.
“Now?”
“Seven. Your hands are really cold, which could be worsening the effects,” you joked. He chuckled, his lips turning up a bit.
“Sorry about that.” He backed up a bit. You put your shirt back down. “Those are first degree burns. It only hit in some spots. Should feel numb or touchy for a couple days. You can put the ointment there too but you shouldn’t have to wrap it up.”
“The hand needs it.”
“The hand needs it,” he agreed. He had put some stuff on the counter, which he now took in his hands. He squeezed something out a bottle and put a bit of it on his finger, taking your hand back in his. “Let me know if the pressure is too much.”
You watched him, your free hands fingers curled under the bed you were sitting on. He gently covered your hand, using such a light touch that it was like he was barely there.
“You’re good at this.”
“It’s my job,” he said, smiling. “Are you from out of town? I don’t think I’ve had you in here before.”
“Just lucky,” you quipped. “I go to college in Seattle too so I’m usually out there.” He nodded slowly.
“Fancy.”
“The drive back is beautiful.” He nodded slowly. His hand lingered on yours as he examined his work. “So is this town.”
“Do you work at the diner?”
“Yeah! That’s where I got this beauty.” He scooted back, grabbing the bandages.
“I think my son’s seen you there. He’s graduating high school in a year and likes his seclusion,” he explained.
“Son?” you asked.
“Edward.”
“No, I’m just stunned you have a child. You look far too young,” you said, laughing incredibly. He grinned sheepishly. You tried not to think of him being married or the lack of ring on his finger.
“He’s technically my foster son,” he described.
“I see. Do you do it all on your own?” You winced. That was aggressive. “I don’t mean to pry.” “It’s alright,” he said, shaking his head, completely cool. “Yes, they’re all under my care. I haven’t found the right one quite yet. Plus, she’d have to take on more than a couple stragglers with me.” His eyes flicked up to yours. They met for a moment longer than they should have. You had to look away.
“Sounds like a task.”
“It’s definitely not for everyone.” He tightened your bandage. “There. I’ll send you home with some of this, it’ll be sent to wherever you get your prescriptions.” He stepped back from you. “Try to be careful around stoves next time.”
“Yes sir.” He gave you one more look, a kind hearted smile and then was on his way. You followed him until he was gone out of view. You were glad he hadn’t checked your pulse because you were sure it was beating out of your chest. Cora came around the corner.
“He’s too old for you too,” she said. You laughed dryly, shaking your head. You could practically still feel his touch on your hand. So gentle.
“You’ll learn to get used to it,” you teased her. She rolled her eyes. “Were you waiting out there the whole time?”
“Wanted to give you and Doctor Dreamy some alone time.”
“You’re such a wingwoman!”
“Don’t worry, I won’t tell the Sheriff.”

Pairing: Armando Aretas x Black Reader
Genre: Jealousy/Fluff??
Warning: use of the n word and slight smut
Note: this is my first time ever writing anything so it might not be good. I been wanting more Armando fics but people barely be uploading anymore so I had to step in lol. (Also I added Megan in it…am I the only one that seen Jacob and Megan together cause nobody is talking about it)😭
Summary: A night at the club with your coworker, whom you secretly had a crush on, altered the dynamic between you two. What was meant to be a one-time thing spiraled into a whirlwind of feelings you struggled to navigate. Everything shifts when a new girl joins the team, and Armando seems to take an interest in her.
Tired was an understatement. After countless hours debriefing and working on the latest case, all you wanted was to collapse into bed, pour yourself a glass of wine, and binge-watch Love Island. But it was your coworker and best friend Kelly’s birthday, and she was adamant about hitting the club. "Why don’t you invite Armando?" Kelly suggested, her excitement barely contained. You looked at her like she was stupid. “Armando? Really? He doesn’t seem like the type to hang out with coworkers, especially not at a club.” Kelly persisted, oblivious to your hesitation. You sighed, pinching the bridge of your nose. “Kelly, I don’t even know if he likes going out, let alone to a club. And besides, he barely acknowledges me at work.”
“He doesn’t have to hang out with us,” Kelly pointed out. “Rita, Dorn, Marcus, and Mike will be there too.”
You considered her words, the idea starting to seem less far-fetched. Still, you were uncertain. “I suppose. But what if he doesn’t even show up? And what if things are awkward?”
Kelly gave you an encouraging smile. “Come on, just give it a try. It's my birthday, and I want all my friends there, including the mysterious Armando. You never know, maybe this will be the night everything changes." Reluctantly, you agreed, sending a quick text to Armando, half expecting no response. But to your surprise, he replied almost immediately, agreeing to join.
After work, you went over to Kelly’s house so that you two could get ready. You were wearing an oversized sweater and sweatpants and had no idea what to wear. Kelly said, "Girl, your body is literally banging. Let’s show it off tonight!” She pulled out a dress that looked too small for you to fit. It was a black, snug dress that hugged every curve. You hated wearing anything tight, but because it was your best friend's birthday, you wore it anyway. You did your hair, deciding to let your curls out instead of the usual slick-back bun, and fixed up your edges. Kelly looked you over and grinned. "You look stunning. Tonight’s gonna be unforgettable."
You two were on your way to the club. When you arrived, the place was packed, and the sound of Sexxy Red’s "Fuck My Baby Daddy" playing got you excited for what the night had in store. You walked until you found the rest of your coworkers: Dorn, Mike, Marcus, and Rita. Mike, flirting as usual, said, "You need to dress like this more often. If I were around your age, I'd be all over you."
You laughed it off, but you didn’t see Armando and assumed he hadn’t come. You sat down with Marcus and Rita, taking your time to warm up to the large crowd. As you did some people-watching, you finally spotted Armando leaning against the bar, and your heart skipped a beat. He wore a fitted black shirt and dark jeans, a gold chain glinting under the neon lights. His hair was freshly styled, and he exuded a confidence that seemed so different from his usual office demeanor. He walked up to the group, greeting everyone. His uncle Marcus said, "Damn, that Lowery DNA is a bitch," seeing the resemblance between him and Mike. Armando looked at you and smiled.
"You look amazing tonight," he said, his eyes lingering on you with an intensity that made your breath catch. This was the most he had spoken to you since you started working together. Your cheeks flushed under his gaze, feeling the magnetic pull between you.
"Thanks," you replied, your voice barely audible over the music. "You look pretty different outside the office too." His smile widened, a hint of mischief in his eyes. "Glad you noticed."
"Want a drink?" he asked. You nodded, feeling a mix of excitement and nervousness. As the night went on, one drink turned into several, and your best friend Kelly soon interrupted your conversation with the others. Her song "TGIF" by Glorilla came on, and she pulled you to the dance floor. Normally, you wouldn’t dance so openly but after seven drinks you had no care in the world and now here you were in the middle of the club with your best friend Kelly twerking together.
Unbeknownst to you, Armando made his way towards you. The distance that usually separated you at work seemed to dissolve. Here you were, throwing it back on Armando, who was catching every movement. The heat between you was undeniable, a magnetic pull that drew you closer with each passing moment. His hands rested on your hips, guiding your movements as you swayed to the rhythm of the music. The crowded dance floor seemed to fade away, leaving just the two of you in your own world.
As the night wore on, the tension between you two intensified. The proximity, the stolen glances, the subtle touches – it all built up to a crescendo. When Armando’s lips finally met yours, it was like a spark igniting a wildfire. The kiss was urgent, filled with pent-up desire and longing. You could feel the heat of his body against yours, and your eyes hungrily traced the outline of his form. His bulging veins, the prominent bulge in his jeans – every detail fueled your growing desire. The kiss deepened, and the world around you seemed to vanish, leaving just the two of you in a whirlwind of passion and longing.
"Let's get out of here," he murmured against your lips, his breath hot on your skin. You nodded, your mind a haze of desire. He grasped your hand and guided you through the swarm of people and out into the cool night air. By the time you reached his car, you were already tangled in each other, the tight space only heightening the intensity of your longing. When you finally arrived at his place, the anticipation was almost too much to bear. The moment the door closed behind you, he pushed you gently against it, his mouth capturing yours in a fierce, heated kiss. His hands roamed over you exploring and memorizing every curve of your body.
You couldn't resist any longer you pushed Armando back against the arm of the couch as you climbed into his lap. He responded eagerly, his hands roaming up your thighs to grasp your ass, pressing you firmly against his growing erection. His grunts mingled with your soft moans as you grind against each other, but it wasn't long before his impatience got the better of him.
With a swift motion, Armando lifted you and carried you to lay you down on the bed, his gaze dark with desire as he took in the sight of you. He moved to climb on top of you, but you were quicker, grabbing his arm and pulling him down so that he was flat on his back, with you straddling his waist. His hard cock pressed enticingly against your clothed cunt, just waiting to be released. His hands gripped your hips tightly as you rocked against him, the friction sending shivers of pleasure through both of you. You could feel his hardness through the thin fabric, driving your desire even higher.
“Me estás volviendo loca" he growled, his thick Spanish accent laced with lust as his eyes locked onto yours.
"Good," you replied with a mischievous smile.
Your fingers worked quickly to undo his jeans, freeing his cock. His breath hitched as you positioned yourself, sliding your panties aside and sinking down onto him in one smooth motion. The sensation of him filling you was electrifying, both of you groaning in unison. Your hands braced against his chest as you began to move, riding him with a rhythm that drove you both wild. The sounds of his rough groans and the intense heat between you heightened the moment, each thrust sending waves of pleasure through you. Not wanting you to reach climax just yet, he flipped you over onto your stomach and pounded into you roughly. His hands gripped your hips firmly, and he leaned over to kiss along your jaw, his lips brushing your skin with each passionate thrust. The sound of his thick Spanish accent giving you praises, mixed with his low moans, pushed you over the edge. With one last powerful thrust, you both came together, the intensity of the moment leaving you breathless and entwined. When you finally sank into each other's arms, exhausted and satisfied, you knew your relationship would never be the same again.
The next morning, you woke up before Armando, the weight of what had happened hitting you like a truck. The whirlwind of emotions swirling inside you was overwhelming, and you left without speaking to him. Armando had always been a distant crush, someone you admired from afar. But now, the lines had blurred, and you found yourself tangled in feelings you didn’t know how to acknowledge. As you gathered your clothes, you glanced back at Armando, a pang of longing striking your heart. All you wanted was to stay wrapped in his arms, but the weight of last night’s events pushed you to flee. Checking your phone, you saw a bunch of missed calls and texts from Kelly, wondering where you had gone. With a deep breath, you dialed her number, ready to face the aftermath.
“Girl, where did you disappear last night?” Kelly's voice was laced with curiosity and concern.
You hesitated for a moment, then blurted out, “I left with Armando. We… ended up at his place.”
Kelly’s gasp was audible even through the phone. “No way! What happened? Spill!”
“Girl, I don’t even know where to begin,” you admitted. “All I remember is us dancing together and then going back to his place... We slept together.” The weight of your confession hit you hard. “I don’t know what to do now...”
“Wow,” Kelly said, stunned. “Are you okay?”
“Honestly, I’m not sure,” you admitted. “I just need some time to figure things out.”
Weeks passed, and finding a new normal became a struggle. The memory of that night lingered in your mind, a constant reminder of what had happened whenever you saw him. At work, things seemed to fall back into their usual rhythm, but the atmosphere was charged with an underlying tension. Armando barely acknowledged you, and when he did, his responses were curt and one-worded. Whether it was during meetings or on missions, he made a deliberate effort to keep his distance, intensifying the emotional strain of your interactions. You found yourself constantly thinking about him, the memory of his touch and the way he made you feel. It was impossible to focus, and the unresolved emotions gnawed at you, making it difficult to move on. Every interaction with Armando, no matter how brief, was charged with unspoken words and lingering glances.
One day, as you passed each other in the hallway, his gaze met yours for a moment longer than usual. There was something in his eyes, a mixture of regret and longing that mirrored your own feelings. But before you could say anything, he looked away and continued on his way, leaving you standing there, your heart pounding in your chest. The tension between you two was palpable, and you knew that sooner or later, you would have to confront it. But for now, you were caught in a limbo of uncertainty, waiting for the right moment to address the complicated emotions that had taken root in your heart.
The next day, Mike and Rita called a meeting to let us know a new person would be joining the tech team. Her name was Lana. When she entered, it was like a burst of sunshine filled the room. She had a vibrant, bubbly personality that instantly drew everyone in. It didn’t take long for everyone, including Armando, to take a liking to her. You watched from a distance as he laughed with her, their conversations flowing effortlessly. He never did that with you, but could you blame him? You never took the chance to talk to him, still holding a grudge against him for what he did to Captain Howard. Jealousy gnawed at your insides, a constant reminder of the unresolved feelings from that night with him.
One afternoon, you walked into the break room to find Armando and Lana in deep conversation so engrossed together that they didn’t even notice you walk in. You felt a pang in your chest, the reality of the situation hitting you hard.
"Hey," you said, trying to sound casual. They both looked up, and Armando's smile faltered for a moment before he greeted you.
"Hey, how's it going?" he asked.
You forced a smile. "Good, just grabbing a coffee." As you turned to leave, you heard Lana ask Armando something, her voice light and teasing. You couldn't make out the words, but the laughter that followed felt like a punch to the gut. Tears clouded your vision, and you quickly left the room before anyone could see you cry. You ran to the bathroom and, with trembling hands, texted Kelly.
"Kelly, can you come to the bathroom? I need you," you typed, your fingers barely able to hit the right keys through your tears. Moments later, your phone buzzed with Kelly's response. "I'm on my way. What happened?" You tried to steady your breathing as you waited. When Kelly finally arrived, she found you sitting on the floor, your face buried in your hands.
"Hey, I'm here. What's going on?" she asked, concern lacing her voice.
You looked up at her, tears streaming down your face. "It's Armando. I walked in on him and Lana. They were so close, laughing, talking... I don't know what to do."
Kelly sat down next to you, wrapping an arm around your shoulders. "I'm so sorry. Armando is an idiot if he doesn't see how amazing you are. But you need to decide what you want. Do you want to talk to him and try to work things out, or is it time to move on?"
You sniffled, trying to gather your thoughts. "I don't know, Kelly. I still have feelings for him, but seeing him with Lana hurt so much. I'm scared of getting hurt again." Kelly hugged you tighter. "Whatever you decide, I'm here for you. Just remember to take care of yourself first. You deserve to be happy." You nodded, feeling a bit of comfort in her words. "Thanks, Kelly. I don't know what I'd do without you."
"Anytime," she said, giving you a reassuring smile. "Now, let's get out of here and go get some drinks,” Kelly said, helping you to your feet. With some convincing from her, you agreed to head back to the same club. Though hesitant, not wanting any feelings about that night to resurface, Kelly's persistence won you over. Unknowingly to you, Armando was there too. You sat at the bar, waiting to get drinks for you and Kelly, lost in your thoughts, when a familiar voice interrupted them.
"Mind if I join you?" Armando asked, his expression unreadable. You stiffened, but gestured to the empty seat next to you. "Sure." For a moment, neither of you spoke, the thumping bass of Megan Thee Stallion’s “Thot Shit” filling the silence. Finally, Armando took a deep breath and broke the tension.
"I've been meaning to talk to you about that night," he said, his voice barely audible over the noise. "I didn't want things to be awkward between us."
You looked at him, your heart pounding. "It's not just about that night, Armando. It's about everything since then. I know I left without saying anything to you, and I regret doing it, but it feels like you’ve been toying with me. Keeping your distance, giving me one-word responses... and Lana," you said slowly, locking eyes with him.
Armando's expression softened, and he leaned closer. "I never meant to toy with you. Lana and I are just friends. I didn't realize how it looked from your perspective."
"You didn't realize?"... “Nigga really?” you echoed, frustration bubbling up. "How could you not see it? Every time I see you two together, it's like a knife in my heart."
"I know, and I'm sorry," he said earnestly. "I was trying to keep things professional and not make things awkward, but I see now that I ended up doing the opposite." His phone buzzed again, and you saw Lana's name flash on the screen. The sight of it was too much to bear. "See, this the shit I'm talking about just go be with her, Armando."
You got up to go back to Kelly when he reached out to grab your hand gently. "No, listen to me. Lana isn't who I want. You are." Your heart skipped a beat, but doubt still lingered. "Then why didn't you say anything before? Why let me suffer in silence?"
"I was scared," he admitted, his voice raw. "Scared of making things worse, scared of losing you. But I can't keep pretending. I have feelings for you, real feelings, and I want to be with you." The sincerity in his eyes made your resolve waver as this is the most emotional you ever seen Armando. “If that's true, then we need to start being honest with each other. “No more games and hiding how we really feel about each other."
He nodded, a look of relief washing over his face. "Agreed. No more hiding.”
You took a deep breath, feeling the tension start to lift. "Okay. But you have to prove it, Armando. Show me that you're serious."
“Mami, te puedo mostrar cómo puedo demostrarlo.” he replied, a smirk playing on his lips. You couldn’t help but laugh at his comment. As the noise of the club swirled around you, a glimmer of hope began to stir within you. Maybe, just maybe, things could be different this time.
Translations
“ Mami, te puedo mostrar cómo puedo demostrarlo.” - Mami I can show you how I can prove it
“Me estás volviendo loca - You’re driving me crazy

dominating..ceo soobin….dominating CEO SOOBIN!!!
using his tie as bondage ..haha im normal about this haha..but hear me out!!!!! hes a total nepo baby, getting the ceo position because of his father. different than his older brother in the sense that he thinks following in the steps of his father is his duty, none of that sense of “carrying tradition” translates well to his work though bcs he effing fucks up virtually everything that he touches. terrible at his job (nobody really tells him though) that his father has to literally hire someone to take it upon themselves to make the right decisions..so basically he has his CEO title for show. terrible at negotiation but not at asserting his dominance in the work space lol has the face of steel, not cracking a smile at any formal work events (not everyone knows hes playing with the cuffs of his stupidly expensive suit behind his back).
networking networking..networking!!! you approached mr. choi for networking. like everybody else. being friends with your ceo is unlikely, but being friendly with him would give you some perks. itd be hard though, considering the reputation he holds (cold, aloof, distant…bleh). with your simple black dress paired with pearl accessories to compliment it and your glass of wine in hand, you walk up to the rigid man by the weirdly empty bar. soobin is…awkward, really awkward. stumbles around his words when he offers a longer response to you, definitely is unprofessional with the way he just cant hide the blush on his cheeks and the fact that he even mildly finds you attractive. okay so change of plans, you’re flirting with your boss. harmless fun, everyones sort of drunk and in their own world with their plus ones anyway. “what department do you work in?”
“mm, you’re quite a curious guy.” you hide the amused smile managing to break through at seeing how his eyes widen, looking like his brains working at hundreds of miles per hour, “i’m in marketing.”
“oh, i hope you don’t take this the wrong way—sorry if you feel uncomfortable with so many questions.”
“i don’t mind them, keep asking.” you were definitely crossing an invisible territory with the way you bat your lashes at him, swirling your drink, pushing your tits up..just a bit.
himbo soobin getting more tipsy by the minute, he definitely becomes a little loose, a lot more confident with his words, though more susceptible to your teasing remarks, getting flustered every time you decide to slur your voice and actually hold eye contact.
now imagine you end up pushing soobin in a bathroom definitely not meant to fit two, at the party where hundreds of your coworkers are present, and giving him a fucking …handjob. “the bathroom?” he whispers, shocked at his whereabouts. you don’t pay him much mind as you hurriedly unbuckle his jeans, “raise your hands.” you order.
when you realize he didn’t listen to you, you take it upon yourself to take untie his tie, to which he audibly complains, “wait no—my outfitttt..”
“do you want to get like, the handjob of your life or are you going to keep being a whiny bitch?”
you’re not sure where the surge of confidence comes from (considering he could fire you with the snap of his fingers), but it shuts him up. using his expensive tie to keep his hands restrained, arms up high while you play with the himbos dick, haha…im gonna pass because the way hed be sooo whiny, whimpers slipping through but even more so when you experiment with dirty talk to see how he reacts—trying an insult about his work ethic, and how everyone sees him as incompetent, destined to throw the company to the ground..oh yup, there it is, his dick’s reacting. beads of precum’s dribbling down his tip, and you coo having found what he likes. “mr. choi likes getting degraded? imagine if your subordinates found out…”
“don’t—don’t tell anybody..please” its barely a whisper through the gasps you pull out of him every sudden speed up on his girth, but you could pick up on it.
you could’ve reassured him that you won’t, his secrets safe with you, pathetic ceo who likes to be dominated by a woman?!?!! scandalous!!! you obviously wouldn’t tell anybody, and you’ll make sure to clear that up after this but…having some fun wouldn’t hurt. not when you’re already giving your boss a fucking handjob. “my mouths tight shut… if you follow through. no cumming unless i say so.”

I guess I'm just gonna post all of my daydream scenarios lol. Another batfam one!
tw: feelings of inadequacy, memory loss
So. You wake up, no idea where you are or what's going on. No memories of who you are or your life before this.
The people who call themselves your family try everything to get you to remember, show you around the mansion where you apparently live, showing you different trophies that are everywhere in your (admittedly, very beautiful) room, explaining to you how and when you won them, pointing at pictures hoping you'll remember where they were taken... But, nothing.
They even tell you about the vigilante stuff! They try throwing stuff at you and seeing if your reflexes still work subconsciously (you get hit in the face with a lot of pillows, Damian has to be stopped from throwing knives multiple times). Don't you remember when you solved the Riddlers puzzles with Batman? When you and Nightwing took down Poison Ivy? ...Nothing sounds familiar? You lost your memories after being hit by a weird ray gun from a new villain, they haven't been able to figure out exactly how it works yet...
When none of that works they try stuff that they think might upset you, but it's the only thing left. How you lost your family before being taken in by Bruce and joining your new family, becoming a vigilante to stop other kids from losing their parents in the same way as you. Unsurprisingly, that doesn't ring any bells whatsoever. They show you pictures of your old family, and... you think you remember them? But not dead, not gone, you get flashes of going grocery shopping with them, looking older than they were when they died, apparently? How can that be...? After that, most of your memories return pretty quickly. You don't belong here.
You all figure out together that apparently you didn't just lose your memory, you switched places with the version of you that actually belongs to this universe! It's nice knowing what happened and that they might be able to figure out a way to switch back with their version of you, to get you home, but it also hurts.
Looking more closely at the other-you's life, it's pretty close to everything you've ever dreamed of... Having hobbies you've always wanted to have but never had the time and/or money for (they can play so many instruments, they dance, etc), a close friend group, maybe even a relationship, even their room is decorated exactly how you'd decorate it if you had the space and money! And all of their achievements... Graduated top of the class, got a scholarship to college, trophies for all sorts of sports. Basically everything you could think of, they excelled in.
You start sleeping in one of the guestrooms.
It's awkward, answering the other-you's family's questions about your life. What are your hobbies? Oh, um, nothing much, mostly I just go to work I guess... What's your job? Do you like it? Uhm, well, it's nothing important or groundbreaking or anything, but I guess there's worse ones! I mean, especially considering that I dropped out of university... Ok, well, what about your friends? Family? Friends? Um, I mean I get along with some of my coworkers, but I wouldn't really call them friends... And my family is just a normal family, I guess?
Needless to say, they want their helpful, smart, wonderful family member back. And you get it, they don't know you, you're a stranger to them! But, after they're able to contact the other-you (unable to bring them back yet, but their memories came back as well and they started working on something similar to the Batfam, which makes it so they can at least talk to each other for now), you find out that they're doing better in your life than you ever did. They got a better job or re-enrolled in university, show way more motivation and discipline than you ever did for anything in your life... The worst part is, they couldn't tell your parents that they're not you, they'd never believe them! So your parents are of the opinion that the mysterious accident is the best thing that ever happened to you! Sure, it was rough at first, but look at you now! Finally making something out of yourself, they couldn't be prouder!
So you're just stuck knowing that both families prefer the other-you, the better-you, smart-you, vigilante-you... Sure, maybe your parents would want you back if they knew it wasn't actually you who was achieving all of these things, but still, now you know they really were disappointed in you, that you weren't living up to their expectations...
[The other-you is having a rough time as well, though. Imagine suddenly remembering that the people you've been living with after your accident/memory-loss are dead where you're from, and you can't even tell them that! You missed them so much, but it's been so long they're strangers to you now... You try to get your mind off of it, work hard, etc, but everyone acts like that's so unlike you and doesn't seem like something you would have done before? You don't know them, they don't know you, you missed them so much, you'll have to lose them all over again. The other version of you seems mad at you for changing your life even though you think it's better now than what they had before.]

Can you do adler and makarov how they gonna comfort me? I really really need it, please make it sweet like very, am very depressed and k really need it
I’m so sorry to hear that, love, and im real sorry I took forever to answer this. I was busy with school and I had a few personal things I needed to get to before I came back to my socials. Forgive me🧎‍♀️
———
Makarov-
Vladimir knows he probably the worst person to come to or even be around when you’re feeling down. The man knows nothing about how to comfort you, he knows he’ll say something wrong at one point. And he beats himself up about when he knows he struck a cord with you, so he often asks Yuri/Nolan if they know anything about helping and if they have any advice. But one thing for sure is he will let you tell him what’s bothering you, he’ll let you cry and he won’t say a word. It makes it a little harder when he’s traveling for work, knowing he can’t be there to rest your head against his shoulder while he wipes your tears away with his thumb. He can’t offer a supportive pat on the back or a very (awkward) tender cuddle. However, when he comes back home, he’ll treat you to a few gifts he brought back along the way. Handing you a bag as he stands there with his hands behind his back- hoping you’ll at least like what he got, which reminded him of you. Sometimes he curses to himself when the realization sets in that he actually really cares about you when he’s scrolling through his phone- shopping. Looking through your favorite comfort items, or even just anything in particular he thinks you’ll like. And he knows he can just have it shipped back to you, but he’d rather personally deliver it to you just to see that smile grow on your face. That or he just sends you money and lets you get whatever. Sits with you on the couch, watching as you go through the things he bought, silently hoping you’ll like what he got. Gently pulls you in closer as he kisses the top of your head and apologizes for how long and how far he was away from you. Whispers words of love and mainly asks himself how someone like you trust him of all people to help you during your state, in Russian
———
Adler-
He knows a little more about feelings and what you’re going through. He’s more on the ‘know your peers’ side, he already gets how you feel when you have slightly smaller states of depression, if you want, he’ll let you have your space. But if he knows you really need him, he’ll let you do what you need him to. He’ll tell Woods and Mason to lay off you, gives you time off from work, he’s not one for much backlash against his coworkers. But if Hudson so much as says something he considers rude, he has no problem saying something back. Once he’s done with work for the day, he’ll come back and sit with you, asking if you’d like anything to make you feel a little better and comfortable before you both settle down. He’ll make your comfort food, offer a jacket or a shirt. Always makes sure you’re eating properly and drinking plenty of water. He knows it’s a far fetch to make you laugh and actually feel better, but he’ll be damned if he won’t make you smile by the end of the day. When night time rolls by he’ll scoot up on close to you. Asks you to tell him about your day, even if you did nothing interesting, he’ll ask you to go into detail about what you thought about. If there’s a specific memory that makes you smile all while he holds you close. He doesn’t like when you stay up late, he can see that some things are bothering you. And he hates to say it, but always tells you that even missing one nights sleep can really impact your week. He’ll make you tea, give you a massage because of how tense and anxious you get. He knows insomnia is a real pain, but he also doesn’t want you missing out on sleep. so he’ll cuddle behind you, one arm as your pillow the other- up and under your other as he smoothes your hair back. Fingers softly brushing against your temple as his legs tangle with yours, pulling you close as he keeps an eye on you throughout the night. Jumping up at anything you want or need
———
♡̩͙im a little rusty but im sure it’ll all come back to me soon. Im sorry i took so long without any updates and i didnt say that i was leaving. I just thought that my work was going unnoticed and i didnt need to explain. But I hope i got a bit of this right, it’s a little sloppy and doesn’t exactly fit everyone’s bill. But send me some ideas so I know what to put down the next time i write something like this. Much love, Deacon ♡̩͙

3.8k, deja vu au, reader appears in the end, alcohol, drinking, depression, past relationship, amnesia, gaslighting, manipulation, denial, character deaths, implied character deaths, car accident, lingering spirits, traveling dimensions, 99% certain you will cry, I cried writing this (@starillusion13)
“Hey… it’s me again…”
Yeonjun laid in bed, staring up at the ceiling while he was on the phone. There was so much he wanted to say, but it was hard to find the words at times.
“I know you’re busy but… you know it’d be nice to hear your voice again… I’m really-”
The beep cut him off as that was all the time he had to leave a message. He thought to try again but he left it that way. He sent you a lot of messages throughout the day, and he didn’t want to piss you off more than you already were. He laid in bed for a while longer before getting up and preparing for the day. The apartment was a lot quieter without you around, and he was well aware of that everyday. Still he didn’t touch your things, leaving them as they were, always waiting for the day you’d forgive him and come home.
On his way out he stopped to look himself over in the mirror, wiping away the tears on his face. He always woke up crying, and he couldn’t understand why. He never remembered his dreams, but he always felt such heartache every morning. He knew he missed you so much, but perhaps he missed you a lot more than he even realized. Once he was out of the apartment he texted his coworker, letting them know he was on his way. He worked as a line cook at a small little joint. It wasn’t anything fancy but it paid the bills and gave him a consistent schedule, so he didn’t hate it too much.
For his lunch break Yeonjun went up to the rooftop, eating in peace and watching the world go by. The scene was quite lovely and it brought back memories. Back then when you had been dating you’d stop by to visit him during his lunch break whenever you had a chance. You could enjoy the view together, and had taken a few pictures together, as well as shared a handful of kisses. It was a little awkward now for Yeonjun, knowing you wouldn’t come up there to meet him anymore, but the memory of you here was what always brought him back. When he heard the door open he perked up, thinking a miracle was about to happen, but instead he saw Soobin walking over. His friends knew of his lunch spot too after all.
“Where you been, man?”
“Ah, you know, just living my life.”
“But you don’t have time to text or call?”
“My bad.”
“It’s okay. I understand.” Soobin took a seat next to Yeonjun. “How you been though?”
“Okay, I guess. Just going through the motions.”
“You know we’re here for you, right?”
“I know. I just don’t wanna burden you guys or sound like a whiny bitch.”
“You wouldn’t be a burden, or annoyance, you know that.”
“Yeah, but I don’t wanna test our friendship over something like this. It’s not a break up, just some miscommunication. We’re taking a break, that’s all.”
“… oh…”
“I’m fine though, really.”
“… yeah… yeah I can see…” Soobin cleared his throat. “You know, the guys are gonna get together on Friday for some drinks, you wanna come? Wouldn’t be bad to spend a night out with us, right?”
“I’d like that.”
“Cool. I’ll text you the details.”
“Thanks.”
Yeonjun admired the view once more, deciding to take a picture and send it to you. Soobin watched him curiously. He could admit it was nice to see the world from up here.
“Who you texting?”
“Y/n. We used to come up here a lot and enjoy the view together. This way we can still share it even if she’s not here now.”
“… right… I, uh… I gotta get going, but I’ll see you Friday?”
“Yeah.”
“Good. See you later.”
“Be safe.”
Yeonjun stayed up on the roof for a while longer before heading back down to finish his shift. He lived close to work, so the commute wasn’t that long, but most nights he’d pick up a few odd jobs doing deliveries. That way he got to travel past all the places you’ve made memories together. The restaurants you’ve dined at, the walks you took together, the ice cream you shared. It was a happy trip down memory lane, and he hoped to do it all again someday. He stopped along the way to check his messages, and just like before you hadn’t responded. Countless messages have gone unanswered, and he could see that you haven’t even opened them. When he finally got home he decided to try giving you a call.
“Hi, you’ve reached y/n, I can’t come to the phone right now, but I’ll get back to you as soon as I can! And if it’s you, Yeonjun, I’m sorry I missed you, but I’ll see you later, love you! Okay, bye!”
Hearing your voicemail message always brought a smile to his face. Perhaps that’s why he kept calling. After the beep though his mind went blank, unsure of what to say at first until the words came to him.
“Hey… how are you? I hope you’re doing well… I, uh, I sent you a picture earlier from the rooftop… it brought back a lot of memories… you know, you could at least let me know you’ve seen my messages… I don’t mind if you leave me on read, but I guess you must be busy… Soobin came by today, told me this Friday-”
Another beep told him his time was up and the line then went dead. He sighed and looked back at his texts, but there was nothing new from you. He lingered in the shower afterwards, trying not to break down in tears. It had been so long now without you, but he was still doing pretty well to hold himself together. He laid in bed, staring at the ceiling for who knows how long before he finally fell asleep. His alarm would wake him in the morning, freeing him from whatever tear filled dream he wouldn’t remember. It was probably more accurate to call them nightmares, but all he knew was what he felt in the morning, nothing else.
This was his usual routine, so he just went about his day as normal. He’d call and leave a message, getting ready for work and spending his day out in the world, distracting himself from your absence. He felt cold in a way he couldn’t describe. It was spring, leading into summer, so the weather itself wasn’t a reason for his feelings. He knew what was, but he didn’t want to dwell on it too long for fear of being swallowed up whole. Yet every passing day made him feel as if you were fading away, and that’s the last thing he wanted.
Every morning he’d feel the tears on his face. Sometimes he’d wake before his alarm, sobbing uncontrollably, his throat burning from the tears. His face hurt from all the crying, but it seemed he was getting used to the pain now. Once he calmed down he found himself staring at the blank ceiling once more. It was easy to zone out that way, drifting back into the memories of the past, the memories forgotten. Although every time he tried to look back it seemed harder to grasp those moments, to grasp onto you. Such feelings always led him to call, even if you wouldn’t answer. He still hoped that someday you would.
“I miss you… I really fucken miss you… and I’m sorry… I honestly can’t remember what we fought about that day but I know it must have been something stupid… we’ve fought before over worse things but this… whatever it was… y/n please… please let me make it up to you… I want to hear your voice again, I want you to say my name again… I can’t… I can’t lose you-”
He screamed after the beep and threw his phone across the room. It was all true. He missed you like crazy and yet you were nowhere to be found. He desperately wanted to remember what happened that day, but even after all this time it was a blur. The stupid anger he felt, knowing you were leaving upset. Things shouldn’t end that way, and all he wanted was to make it up to you, to see you again and apologize for hurting you. Yet ever since that day you’ve disappeared from his life and gone silent. All his messages and texts have gotten him no response, and he was quietly going insane. Somehow he still managed to live his life, day by day, but it was becoming unbearable the longer this went on.
🖤🖤🖤🖤🖤
“Yeonjun! It’s so good to see you!”
Taehyun and Kai ran up to hug their friend when they saw him, the atmosphere growing brighter with his presence. Everyone was happy to see him as it had been a long time since they all last hung out together.
“Thanks. Soobin invited me, and I thought I’d see how you were all doing.”
“This is gonna be fun.” Kai admitted. “I’m so glad you’re here.”
“Let’s drink till sunrise.” Taehyun added. “I’ve built up my tolerance, I can totally take you on.”
“Ya, relax.” Soobin stated. “We haven’t even ordered the first round. We’ll see if your words hold up later. Sit, sit.”
“I’ll order.” Beomgyu said. “It really is great to see you, Yeonjun.”
“Same here.”
To be surrounded by friends, and drinking for joy, it was truly something Yeonjun had needed. He wasn’t alone, and he could forget his sorrows while in this moment. Everyone talked about what they had been up to, their plans going forward, and they all promised to see each other again soon. It was kinda strange to feel happiness like this again after so long, and Yeonjun wished to share it with you. By sunrise they were all pretty gone, but Yeonjun still had enough sense of self to act on his own.
“Excuse me for a minute, I gotta do something.”
“Hurry back.”
Yeonjun got up from the table, stumbling a bit towards the door. He pulled out his phone and dialed your number. Of course he was met with the usual ringing, but this time things were different. As he was walking out he stopped, hearing a familiar sound.
“Y/n, could you please pick up the phone, it’s your boyfriend calling.”
Yeonjun had recorded a special message for you to use as a ringtone whenever he called. So hearing it now sent chills down his spine, sobering him up in a second. He looked around the place, searching for the source, but it was naive to think you were there somehow. Out of the corner of his eye he caught the truth. Beomgyu pulled out a phone, your phone, quickly shutting it off before slowly looking up at Yeonjun. Their eyes met and for a moment the world froze. It was just the two of them in this silence, but the rage inside Yeonjun quickly burned away the cold and he stormed back over to the table. Yeonjun dropped his phone and reached over to pull Beomgyu close, getting up in his face.
“Why the fuck do you have y/n’s phone!”
“Yeonjun, I, I can explain.”
“What the fuck! I have been trying to reach her for weeks! Why the fuck do you have her phone!”
“Yeonjun, calm down!”
Everyone had sobered up in an instance. Soobin and Kai grabbed Yeonjun, pulling him away from Beomgyu. The boy took a few breaths, Taehyun looking him over. Yeonjun tried to free himself, a fire burning inside him, and his eyes locked on Beomgyu.
“Where is she!?” Yeonjun yelled. “Where is she, Beomgyu!?”
“Yeonjun…”
“Tell me! Where the fuck is she! You fucken bitch! Where-”
“Yeonjun, stop it.” Soobin interrupted. “Don’t do this here.”
“Let me go! I need him to tell me the truth.”
“That’s not gonna help.”
“Fuck you! Tell me where she is, Beomgyu! What has she told you!? Where is she!?”
“Yeonjun-”
“Where-”
“She’s gone!” Taehyun spat. “Yeonjun, she’s fucken dead.”
“… huh?”
“Taehyun, don’t.” Kai said. “This isn’t-”
“She got into a car accident a few weeks back.” Taehyun continued. “You were there, you went with her to the hospital and she… she didn’t make it…”
“… no… no… no, that’s not true! Liar! You fucken liar!”
“It’s true.” Beomgyu added. “You disappeared after the doctors pronounced her dead. You didn’t even go to her funeral. We didn’t see you for days, and when you suddenly reappeared you were talking about some fight and that you two were taking a break. You fucken gaslight yourself, and we just let you be cause surely you’d come to your senses eventually.”
“She… where is she?”
“I can tell you where she’s been laid to rest…”
“No, no… no…”
“We all miss her too, Yeonjun.” Kai added. “I’m sorry…”
“… you’re lying… you’re all liars…”
Yeonjun fell to his knees, his vision being blurred by tears. He didn’t want to believe any of this, yet his heart hurt like never before in this moment. Soobin and Kai let him go, cautiously stepping away to give him space. They all knew the truth had to surface somehow, but they didn’t want it to happen this way.
“Why did you have her phone?” Soobin questioned. “Why didn’t you tell me?”
“I was the one who took her belongings and before I could deactivate the phone I noticed Yeonjun kept texting and leaving messages. I couldn’t… I don’t know what would happen if I suddenly cut the line.”
“You should have told me you had it. I thought he did and he was feeding his own delusion. Why did you even bring it!?”
“I forgot to leave it at home, besides I didn’t think he’d leave a message right now.”
“Yeonjun- where did he go?”
When the others tried to look for Yeonjun they realized the boy was already gone, having run off when he had the chance. Yeonjun had no idea where he was running too, but he just had to get away. Tears blurred his vision, wiped away only for a moment by the wind. Somehow he wound up running away from civilization and out into the fields. The light from the sunrise illuminated his path, but it did nothing to soothe the pain in his chest. His legs could only take him so far and he eventually collapsed, falling to the ground. He struggled to breathe, the lack of air and pain from his tears making it hard to regain his breath.
While he laid there images began to flash before him. A car wreck, fire, sirens in the distance getting louder and louder. The crowds around him, screaming and calling for help. A vague image of an injured hand sticking out from an overturned car. He stood frozen in place, taking in the whole scene before screaming and running towards the fire. Yeonjun jolted up, still in the field and looking around at the emptiness. He was alone, completely alone. He didn’t want to believe you were gone, he couldn’t, yet he felt it in his heart. All those dreams he had, they had truly been nightmares, memories of that day. Yet he wanted to deny it all.
“Please… please…”
Tumblr media
Yeonjun had gotten on his knees, praying, begging, to see you again. Things couldn’t end this way, definitely not like this. He had been terrible at times, unable to keep promises or leaving you alone in all kinds of ways. Still he loved you, he loved you more than anyone else, and he’d never love another like he loved you. So he prayed, begged, to anyone who would listen, if he could have you back, promising to never let go again.
“You lost her, didn’t you?”
Tumblr media
Yeonjun opened his eyes to see Beomgyu standing before him, then the boy kneeled down to embrace him in a hug.
“It’s okay, it’s okay… I lost her too…”
“She can’t be gone… she can’t be…”
“She is… but I can give her back.”
“Huh? What do you mean?”
“Promise me you’ll look after her.”
“I don’t understand.”
“Yeonjun!!!”
Yeonjun turned around to see his friends running in his direction, all four of them. Once it clicked in his head he looked back at the Beomgyu by his side.
“What…”
“There isn’t much time. Please, promise us you’ll take care of her. She can’t be alone.”
“I…”
“Promise us.”
“… I promise.”
A blinding white light changed day into night. Yeonjun found himself alone once more, standing in the middle of nowhere. It took him a moment to truly regain his composure, confused about what had just happened.
“Yeonjun!”
Your voice, he had almost forgotten what it sounded like in real life, and not just some recording. Tears stung his eyes, except they were of joy this time. Although that feeling only lasted for a bit. When he turned around his eyes went wide, memories rushing in. That day you had come to pick him up, the two of you planning to get the others and you were all going to go on a weekend trip. He had a bad day at work and just snapped at you for no reason. You were rightfully upset, telling him to get himself together and call you when he wanted to be picked up. You drove off without another word. He already regretted his actions as he watched you leave, and when he turned his back he heard a loud noise.
Screams soon filled the air and he ran over, seeing smoke rising into the air. He was met with a horrifying scene. Your car was turned over, some other idiot hitting you and causing the whole wreck. He was frozen in shock, being able to see your hand sticking out of a broken window. When he saw your fingers move he snapped into action and rushed over. It was all really a blur from there but now he stood before a similar scenario. There was an overturned car just off the road, a giant fire roaring from it and the bits of debris around were also engulfed in flames. You were on your hands and knees before a body, screaming and crying.
“Yeonjun! Yeonjun! Yeonjun, get up! Please, Yeonjun… Yeonjun… you can’t leave me alone… please… Yeonjun! Get up! Please… please… yeonjun…”
Yeonjun wasn’t dreaming this time, or reliving a memory, this was something else entirely, and there was no waking up to reality. This was the real world, and it was like deja vu. He took a shaky step forward, one foot after another. Your name escaped his lips as a whisper, in the moment he struggled to call to you although seeing you again was what he had desperately wanted. As he got closer he noticed four other bodies scattered around, and your face became clearer, illuminated by the fire.
“… y/n…”
“… yeonjun… please wake up… please…”
“Y/n.”
Yeonjun choked back tears as he said your name. From where he was he could see your clothes were torn up, and that you were covered in cuts and bruises. When you looked up to meet his eyes he froze. It really was you, he could never forget those beautiful eyes, even when they were full of tears and agony. He couldn’t forget your face either, regardless of how many injuries decorated it.
“Yeonjun…?”
“Y/n.”
“Yeonjun… Yeonjun!”
You scrambled to your feet, ignoring the searing pain from your leg as you finally stood. You tried to run, but it was more of a desperate limp as you made your way over to Yeonjun, tears blurring your vision. Maybe this was all just some hallucination, or maybe Yeonjun had come back for you, either way there was only one way to know for sure. Yeonjun caught you in his arms, almost in disbelief that it was really you. He held you tightly, so fearful you’d suddenly disappear again.
“Yeonjun, is it really you…?” You sobbed into his shirt. “Don’t leave me alone… please…”
“No… no, I’m not going anywhere… I got you… I promise.”
Yeonjun’s legs gave out, the adrenaline wearing off, but he kept his hold on you. The two of you collapsed to the ground, but neither said much. Yeonjun stared at the car wreck, slowly looking down at your battered body. The car suddenly exploded, causing you to scream and hold Yeonjun tighter. He did his best to shield you, watching the flames grow brighter, and noting all the bodies were suddenly gone.
“Yeonjun… what’s going on?”
When Yeonjun heard his name he looked over to see his friends walking towards him. They looked worried, and confused, coming to Yeonjun for answers, but he had none.
“I… I don’t know…”
Yeonjun noticed his friends covered in injuries as well, their clothes different from when he last saw them and now torn up. He suddenly winced, looking down at his own body, seeing injuries that hadn’t been there before, and realizing his own clothes had changed.
“I thought you were dead…” You sobbed. “I thought you were all gone…”
“Y/n?” Kai questioned. “Is that…”
“We’re all okay.” Yeonjun cut in. “We’re all gonna be okay. I promise.”
The boys all looked at each other, but now wasn’t the time for questions. Soobin and Taehyun helped you and Yeonjun get up. You were in no position to walk, so Soobin picked you up in his arms, carrying you bridal style and having you wrap your arms around his neck. They all had a vague sense as to where to go, starting to walk away from the wreck. Yeonjun stayed close to you, softly petting your head and assuring you he was right here with you, they all were. Your eyes stared deeply into his, feeling that his words were true. Yeonjun saw the fire reflecting in your eyes, seeing something strange and turning around. Among the flames he saw five silhouettes, not needing to wonder what that was.
“I promise.”
The smoke overtook the fire and he turned back to you, offering you a smile. You reached out to hold his hand and he took it, feeling the warmth it brought him. He may not know the past here but whatever the future held he knew you’d see it all together, and make new memories. He leaned forward to place a gentle kiss on your hand, forever grateful his prayers were answered. Yeonjun would keep his promise, as he was sure they all would.
“Yeonjun.”
“Hm?”
“Everything’s gonna be okay… we’re gonna be okay… right?”
“Yes. I promise.”

MASTERMIND — TREVOR ZEGRAS
trevor zegras x fem!reader
part of the Midnights Fic List
summary: in which y/n confesses to her boyfriend, Trevor, that she planned the night they met and knew they would end up together.
specific lyrics: “once upon a time, the planets and the fates and all the stars aligned. you and i ended up in the same room, at the same time.” and “what if i told you none of it was accidental and the first night that you saw me, nothing was gonna stop me. i laid the groundwork and then just like clockwork, the dominoes cascaded in a line. what if i told you i’m a mastermind? and now you’re mine.”
notes: i feel like all 3 of this weeks midnights fic list works have been so short and i hate that but i also feel like they didn’t need to be long? idk if that makes sense but like, i feel like if they were longer then they would suck and be too much.
Tumblr media
**FALL OF 2021**
i don’t want to be here. i was a last minute invite after my sister, Liz, got sick and could no longer make it. her boyfriend, Carson, needed a date, so Liz offered for me to take her place. platonically, of course. so, now i stand next to Carson, in an uncomfortably itchy evening gown. at some charity event for his work, watching as people mill about the ballroom.
“i’m gonna go grab a drink.” he tells me.
he’s gonna leave me alone in a room full of people i don’t know? where i already feel awkward and out of place?
not wanting to seem needy, i just nod, watching as he walks away. heaving out a sigh, i lean my back against the wall behind me and continue my people watching. i look towards the entrance, watching as a group of guys i immediately recognize walk in. i freeze up as i scan the group. as a hockey fan, i would’ve appreciated if Carson had told me that the Anaheim Ducks would be attending. i’m about to let my shoulders slump in relief when i see him. Trevor Zegras. my favorite hockey player and the most gorgeous man i’ve ever seen. he looks up from his phone as he walks and our eyes lock. he throws a half smile my way and then catches up with the rest of his team. he says something to Jamie Drysdale before they break off from their teammates and walk towards the food table.
i tear my gaze away from him and glance toward Carson, who’s locked into a conversation with a coworker at the bar. looking back towards Trevor, i contemplate in my head.
this may be my one chance to charm him.
i’m gonna do it.
i walk over to the food table and saddle up right beside him. grabbing a plate, i then reach for the same strawberry as him at the same time, making our fingers brush.
“oh, so sorry!” i feign surprise, and look up at him. his blue look into mine and he smirks.
“it’s no worries.” he picks up the strawberry, setting it on my plate. “for the beautiful lady.”
i feel the blood rush to my cheeks and i smile back at him.
“thank you, handsome gentleman.” i tease.
“does the beautiful lady have a name?” he asks, turning his body to face me completely and i mimic him.
“i’m y/n.” i introduce, sticking my free hand out for him. he clasps it in his, shaking.
“i’m Trevor.”
**SUMMER OF 2023**
i lay in bed, watching Trevor’s reflection in the mirror through the open bathroom door as he gets ready for the day.
i’m so in love with this man. i need to come clean, because what if he hates me for it and leaves? if i wait any longer, it’ll hurt me more.
“what if i told you that us meeting wasn’t accidental?” i blurt the words out before i can even think about what i’m saying.
“what?” he asks, turning and walking out, back into the bedroom.
“when we met. at the charity.” i clarify, looking down at my hands. “i planned us meeting. i mean, i didn’t know you would be there, but when i saw you, i planned it in my head. i went over and i faked getting that strawberry so our hands would touch and then i faked not knowing who you were. and then it cascaded from there.”
Trevor is silent for too long for my liking and i finally look up. but his reaction isn’t what i was expecting. he’s standing in front of me with a wide smirk on his face.
“i was waiting for you to confess.” he chuckles and my face contorts in confusion.
“what?” i’m so confused. he knew?
“honey, i knew that night.” he tells me.
“you did? how?” i ask, sitting up in the bed.
“i saw you leaning on the wall, remember? it was written across your face that you knew who i was. i’m glad you made the first move though, because i thought you were stunning. still do.” he takes a seat in front of me on the bed. taking my hand in his. “you’re my little mastermind.”

Can you write some stuff about Spot with one bed trope. You can either write pre collider or after collider. Which one is easy. I just have this idea for days and you I love your writings
one bed trope with Jonathan Ohnn!
basically jonathan has a crush on reader, no confession happens, and reader isnt confirmed or denied to reciprocate mostly just jon watching you sleep and thinking about what could be admin got a little silly not proof read, the bangers im listening too were too intense, we die like the spider that bit miles not sure how long this post is going to be! im not used to typing on an actual computer so my shoulders going stiff </3 anyways!
Tumblr media
honestly i wouldnt put it past him to not get a room with one bed on purpose/hj
but lets assume he didnt and this is a genuine coincidence, because i think his misery and half hidden crush would be funny
gonna do a middle road here and assume spot has a crush on reader but hasnt confessed yet; whether reader feels the same is going to be up in the air
you see his body language immediately change when he sees the single bed in the room; you two had booked a hotel for the night for one reason for another
perhaps a work trip?
regardless the point still stands that there is only one bed
he offers to sleep on the floor, he doesnt mind it for one night, he can suck it up and-
you stop him before he can go on a full thing about how you can have the entire bed to yourself and how his back can stand sleeping on the floor for a few hours
yeah, no, with how hes always hunched over himself, his back will most certainly not thank him in the morning...
thank god the room is dim, otherwise youd see just how red his face is... not that his nervousness wasnt evident with how he was stumbling over himself
you convince him to take the left half of the bed, while you take the right
oh boy this is awkward
the air feels so thick, like you could cut straight through it... or is that just jonathons thinking?
his back is to you, so his face isnt right in yours; whether that makes it more awkward he cant tell...
he considered breaking the silence, but stopped himself; what if you were already alseep
you werent talking..
he carefully rolled onto his back and looked at you, hoping he wasnt too obvious
you were asleep already.... oh how he envied you, for dropping so fast
he turned, now facing you, alone with his thoughts
his mouth parted, before closing again
what? was he really going to talk to you, while you were knocked out?
"get real..." he thought to himself
he wasnt sure how long he ended up laying there, but for the majority of the time he was awake he thought about you
every part that he liked, everything that he wanted to tell you, the future he wanted to have with you
he wanted to hold you, to take you out and spoil you. maybe even move in together in a nice house? maybe even, if you wanted, have kids? he never really saw himself as a father but if you wanted him to be, he'd step up-
and and
he would make sure that you knew you were valued to at least one person, everyday, and would remind you how much he loved you, and...
but-
but you were coworkers; and thats how it would likely remain..
"but," hed interject, only to shoot himself down
it was agonizing, actually
that repeating cycle of thoughts kept up until his eyelids were about to close
but as he was about to drift off, your form suddenly scooted closer to him
eyes wide he looked at you, oh god were you awake the entire time he was staring?
no
you were still asleep
on one hand he was relieved that he wasnt caught being... weird... and his body relaxed' but on the other hand he felt his heart wretch knowing that you werent really. snuggling into him on purpose
as much as he wanted to stay close by and nuzzled into you, he shifted himself to the edge of the bed and sat up
he looked at the clock, it was a few hours past midnight...
he pulled himself up, and tugged himself to the bathroom
yeah... there was no way he was going to be able to sleep with you in the bed... not that it was your fault..! its just..
he frowned, desperately avoiding accidentally glancing at himself in the mirror
no, you would never... right?
when morning comes and you eventually wake up and question his absence in bed and the circles around his eyes he dismisses you with a simple "oh i couldnt sleep, the bed was uncomfortable,"
poor guy

Minors DNI...
Not my gif!
Warnings: Mentions of sex, heavy flirting
Steve Harrington x Fem!Reader
Imagine....Robin dragging you to one of Steve's stupid parties and it’s honestly the last place you want to be, having already had to endure 8 hours in Family Video with him that day. Steve’s already in the corner of his kitchen, looking like a million dollars, talking to some blonde you recognise from the video store and you hate how it’s bothering you that she has her well manicured hands on his biceps but you grit your teeth, grabbing a drink and downing it quickly (your first of several that night). Of course it’s all part of Steve’s big plan to make you jealous, cause he’s really only got eyes for one girl. But you’re too damn stubborn to admit that you might actually like your handsome coworker because you didn't want to be one of those stupid girls that fell for Steve The fucking Hair Harrington....
When Steve grows bored of the lingering looks you've been exchanging all night, getting tired of pretending the guys lining up to make their move on you weren't irritating him, he walks toward you, a confident smirk across his face as he lifts his arm over your head to lean on the wall, closing you in.
You try your best to look displeased in his presence but when he boldly presses his body against yours, telling you just how pretty you look in your little red dress, you know instantly you're done for, cause you couldn't keep pretending that you didn't want to fuck Steve Harrington's brains out.
“So, princess, what exactly do you suggest we do about this sexual tension between us?” He whispers so causally in your ear and you're cursing at the way he has your thighs clenching just from how he was looking at you. Like you were the only person in the room.
"I have no idea what you're talking about, Harrington." You reply, smiling sweetly, as Steve bites the corner of his bottom lip, grinning.
"So those hot little denim shorts you wore to work today weren't for my benefit? Like you didn't knock over those tapes on purpose so you could bend over in front of me, sweetheart..." He teases, stealing a little moan from you as his fingers begin to dance on the bare skin of your backless dress and you weren't sure how much longer you could stand not kissing him.
"Liked what you saw, Stevie?" You ask boldly, knowing it wasn't the alcohol setting your skin on fire now. It was all down to him.
"I think you already know the answer to that, sweetheart. But if you want me to admit it, then yeah, got me hard as a fuckin' rock."
"Did you touch yourself thinking about it?" You whisper in his ear, tugging at his shirt, his lips trailing the exposed skin of your collarbone, slowly moving his fingers from your hip, sliding them down your thigh but stopping just as he hears your breath hitch.
"Did you?" He smirks, letting his hand fall back to his side again and he can't help but grin when he sees the disappointment spreading across your face at the lack of friction between you.
"No more games, princess, you know I want you and I know you want me, even if it kills you to admit it.... So, I'm gonna go upstairs and if you want me to show you just exactly what I wanted to do to you earlier, you'll follow me there in five minutes." Steve instructs, leaving you standing there hot and needy for more.
It didn't take you five minutes to make your decision but fuck, work was going to be totally awkward on Monday.......

MOOT GAME: " make up a trope for your moots and their biases. doesn’t need to be romantic. can be crackfic/funny. ^ㅇ(๑>◡<๑)ㅇ^ "
hi anon-ie!! yayyyy ok this is so fun imma just *rubs hands* cook up some scenarios 😋 (tagging the ones i talk to on a daily basis!! 💗)
@sungbeam acedemic rivals - theres something about you just being rivals with changmin and it gets on your nerve whenever he outperforms you but then all that bickering slowly turn into romance and thats something i will be watching from afar with my popcorn.
@from-izzy strangers to lovers - you and hyunjae (as much as i wanna mention the other guy but i won't bcs im trying to be nice 🥰) would meet as strangers on your first day of uni orientation, seemingly also ends up as deskmate in class and boom hes the goofy funny guy, always trying to get you involve in activities when you're just shy and reluctant and then the both of you start falling for each other
@daisyvisions best friends to lovers - we all know how much you love this, esp with hyunjae when yall be doing things that are pretty much obvious that's more than just friends 😏 so by the time yall end up together its more of a meh we've already done this before but then it gets awkward cs you're both now labelled as bf/gf
@aimeecarreros / @momhwa-agenda enemies to lovers - bcs of what you told me yesterday....but juyeon who's always teasing and bullying you...but then it's bcs he actually likes you sm but bcs of his ego he refuses to believe nor accept reality...but then it eventually hits him and hes confronted by you with a revenge dress and he goes oh. 😌
@snowflakewhispers mutual pining - realistically you and jacob would be having feelings for each other but then you both have your doubts (even though you don't look like it when you have beef with me everyday 🙄 HOWEVER it'll be cute but then the rest of us at the side will be all frustrated (aka me, daisy, elena) be like HE ALSO LIKES YOU BACK WTF but you're just "IDK MAN I DONT THINK HE WOULD"
@kimsohn unrequited love (but with a happy ending) - sunwoo's been head over heels over you since day one but you're always just ignoring his advnaces be like "this dude is hella weird", this goes on until one day you eventually see the other side of him, he makes you blush and he gets a high and giddy be like "okay confirmed maya likes me now i've won in life"
@justalildumpling rich kid au - ok i know it sounds cliché but hear me out!! na jaemin aka the rich boy from uni and he gets all the girls and naturally you fall for him too cs hell hes a fine-looking man but then maybe one day you are forced to live with him and thats when you see his true colours which makes you go ew, but then bcs of your personality you'll be like "i will change this man" (which you do) and he realises that you're not like the other girls out there
@ethereal-engene coffeshop au - you just give me calm sunshine vibes so!! you and woozi in the coffee shop, woozi as the barista (WHEW WITH A WHITE SHIRT- 😮‍💨) either you both work tgt as coworkers and eventually become a couple, or you would often visit the store not just for the good coffee but also for the good looking barista 👀
@drunkdrazed childhood friends to lovers - you're literally the sweetest human being so it would only be appropriate for this trope!! either with ten / jacob, you would fit so well 🥺 love the way how yall know literally anything abt each other and when yall reach uni / work and thats when you both realised that you're falling for one another instead 🫶
@h0mebody-heaven soulmate au - you're so funny and another ball of energy!! i can't imagine a better soulmate for hendery than you! lmao i can imagine all the chaos, the jokes that you both are gonna pull, probably asks you to film plenty of questionable tiktoks but then you oblige bcs YOLO 🤭
@strayed-quokka established relationship - do i need to say more, husband sangyeon and you're the housewife. you can replay that scenario in your mind.
@sanaxo-o arranged marriage - chanhee the rich son of dior's ceo ✨ but imagined getting pampered by him??? what a life it'll be 😮‍💨

sitting on my lunch break as a barista rn kicking my feet and giggling at ur ellie coffeeshop au. requesting a oneshot where ellie & reader are coworkers at a coffeeshop/bookstore or whatever and they have a crush on each other !! love ur writing <3
a/n: AHH I LOVE THISS i want to be coworkers with ellie <;/3 and I'm so glad you are liking the coffee shop fic!! it makes me so happy to see you guys enjoying it so much haha
cw: AWKWARD ELLIE, like so awkward i love her, mr. beast mention LMFAOO
wc: 800
you needed to be working. if your manager ever happened to look at the cameras, you would be reprimanded for sure. but, you couldn't help it.
you sat behind the register peering around a bookshelf to look at the coffee shop in a snug corner. the bookstore you worked at wasn't huge but when the local coffee shop proposed opening a small area in your store, your manager happily agreed.
it was small enough to only need 1-2 workers a day. today just happened to have 1 person working.
ellie.
a smile crept on your lips as you thought of her name. she was the main barista at the small coffee shop, maybe even the manager? you didn't deal with the shop much but all you knew that was when ellie worked, you couldn't help but stare. she was kind enough to bring you a cup of coffee some days. when you were crazy busy and there were no tasks at the shop she even jumped in to help you with customers.
you would always tell her you were fine but she would wave you off, ringing up customers as if she originally worked at the bookstore.
she snuck into your heart with her small acts of kindness.
you tear your eyes away from her to scan the small store, seeing if any customers were in. to your surprise (and benefit) there wasn't.
it was time.
you hop off the small stool you were seated on and made your way over to ellie.
"slow day, huh?" you shove your hands in your apron as you approach her.
she laughs, nodding her head, "yes it is! feels like the shift is never gonna end. i don't think i've seen more than 4 people today." her sleeves were rolled up to reveal her forearm tattoo as she washed some spare dishes. that damn forearm tattoo always got you blushing.
you look out the window, "i thought since school was out today some kids would stop by."
ellie clicks her tongue, "kids don't read anymore. they are all about their ipads and... what's, what's that one youtuber called?"
you look back at her and shrug, "i have no clue. i don't keep up, too old." she looks like she's racking her brain to find the answer.
"mr. beast? i think that's who the kids are into. or is it someone else?" ellie was wondering out loud, scrubbing her last cup. you furrow your brows at the name.
you have never even heard of him before.
"i don't know him," ellie hums in acknowledgment, shaking her hands free from the water, "maybe we will get busy soon. only have about 2 hours before we close up."
ellie wipes her hands on a towel before leaning against the counter, eyes locking on yours, "maybe. we don't usually have many customers before we close, though." she looks in between you and the floor like something is bothering her.
"that's true." you finish out the conversation, settling in a sort of awkward silence. her eyes were darting back and forth while her bottom lip was tugged between her teeth, "well, i'll go tidy up my side of the store. bye bye!"
even if you wanted to sit and talk to ellie all day, you couldn't just completely abandon your job. you go to turn around but her saying 'wait!' pauses you in your tracks. you look at her with curious eyes.
"are you, uh, doin' anything tonight?" her hand rubs the back of her neck as she peers at you with a look in her eyes you can't quite place.
this was perfect.
you never thought ellie would be the one to initiate so this was a pleasant surprise. she always seemed sort of reserved so you figured you would have to be the one to shoot your shot.
you clasp your hands in front of you, a smile forming, "no, i'm actually free tonight."
ellie lets out a small breath of relief, "wanna go to the arcade? play some mortal kombat? if... if that's what your into, of course. we could definitely play something els-"
"that's perfect, ellie," she smiles at your reassurance, "meet you at the back doors after we get through closing?"
she gives a thumbs up, cringing slightly at her action, "sounds perfect!"
you wanted to tease her for her awkwardness but you couldn't do that to her. not yet at least.
maybe one day.

Maid cafe's ˗ˋˏ ♡ ˎˊ˗ (PT.3)
❤︎❤︎❤︎❤︎❤︎❤︎❤︎
Tumblr media
Toji fushiguro x F!Reader (Black female reader)
Context - Summers finally arriving and after a month and a bit, Toji finally gets to see you again....sadly, things don't really go as planned.
CW - masturbation, fingering, smut
Part 2 ←→ Part 4
This came out a bit early cus I was impatient ❤︎
"Please! Mr fushiguro - I just need more time and I'll get those documents to you! I was just busy with things-"
Toji just stared silently at the man at the end of the large table in the meeting room, completely bored to death and his begging for forgiveness wasn't as entertaining as it used to be.
"S' fine. Just get them to me before you go for your holiday and you can keep your job and your shitty dog."
The man was surprised, looking up from his closed fists with glossed eyes.
His coworkers - nanami, Geto and Gojo were all also surprised.
"Boss?" The man croaked, not wanting false hope to fully sink in yet.
"You heard me, didn't ya? Now get the fuck out of my sight before I change my mind." Was all Toji said before the man quickly got up from his chair, taking his briefcase with him before running out of the meeting room.
There was an awkward silence before Toji sighed deeply, flicking through a business proposal an aspiring investor brought in a few hours ago.
"well, is someone gonna explain what the fuck just happened?" Geto finally spoke, chuckling soon after.
Nanami shrugged.
"Don't ask me."
Gojo smirked, looking over at Toji.
"He's become a lot softer because of one person."
Toji shot Gojo a warning glare before facing the paper again.
"Toji met someone?" Geto asked almost teasingly. "Hard to believe."
"You should've seen his face the first time he-"
Toji suddenly got up, closing the file whilst all three of his coworkers stared at him in silence.
"m' going for a smoke."
He knew they'd continue their gossip after he left but at least he didn't have to be there to hear it.
Truth be told - he noticed it too. After those small hangouts with you, he managed to become so much softer in such a small amount of time. He'd let his workers off if they made mistakes he'd usually reprimand him for and he'd give more second chances. You'd fully gotten yourself into his mind without even knowing. And now he'd become a lot less strict and even looked approachable to more people.
Toji made his way into the break room, lounging on the couch tiredly. He didn't even feel like smoking at all. He just wanted to get out of there before he was bombarded with questions. Usually he'd try messaging you but with summer break arriving, you were swamped with work, school, projects and tests, meaning you had no time to talk to him.
And not wanting to annoy you, Toji kept his distance while that was in his mind. Besides...he'd get to see you during summer.
That's when Toji remembered.
You'd offered for him to come and he wanted to. But you'd also mention Gojo and possibly more of his friends. He almost had no choice. You were bringing your friends and it'd be awkward for him to come alone. So, reluctantly, toji made his way back to the meeting room, all three of the men still there.
"You guys doing anything this summer?"
⎯⎯ ☾ ⎯⎯
You let out a deep huff, finally locking your door, placing your bags of food down.
"You're back?" A male voice came from your living room.
"Yeah!"
You used the rest of your strength to carry them over to the kitchen counter, shrugging your zip up hoodie off before leaving it on the smooth surface too.
Your cousin - Jaydon came from the kitchen, a pack of pringles in hand.
"All this for me? You really are the sweetest," he said, voice slightly muffled from his mouth full with pringles, his hand roughly slapping your back.
"Ow-! Jeez, you slob. If my apartment is messy when I get back I swear-"
"Chill-" he rolled his eyes, looking through the bags of food before grabbing a large bottle of cola. He'd graciously offered to house sit for you whilst you were gone.
"Do not. Drink that from the bottle." You warned before taking your phone out of your pocket.
Your cousin just nodded absent mindedly before grabbing a cup and taking his snacks back into the living room. You went onto your friends group chat, Diane sending an updated picture of the list you all put together.
All you needed to get was sun cream.
You sent a text saying you could pick those up from the convenience store near your house, Diane and your other friend - Ada, thanking you.
You quickly walked into the living room, walking over to your mouse cage.
"Did you miss me butterscotch?" You cooed, taking the rodent out of its cage, the mouse squealing in response.
"That things disgusting." Jaydon commented, eyes still fixed on whatever action movie he'd put on.
"You're one to talk." You remarked before putting butterscotch back into his cage. "Make sure he's fed twice a day. I put a note on the times. And no giving him snacks."
You walked back out to the kitchen, grabbing your purse.
"I'll be right back," you called out to Jaydon. "Gonna pick up some more sun cream."
Jaydon just gave a loud 'mhm' and you left the house, deciding to leave your hoodie at home.
Once you got into the convenience store, it didn't take long before you found the sun cream in an aisle near the front, seeing as it was definitely in high demand.
You grabbed a few bottles, holding them to your chest before making a sharp 180, accidentally bumping into a person behind you, all the bottles falling to the floor.
"Shit, I'm so sorry-"
"It's fine!" You quickly bent down along with the stranger who helped you grab your things.
You looked up, meeting eyes with him, slightly shocked.
He looked like Toji. A full carbon copy. The only difference was the eyes colour and his hair was more messy, as well as his young features.
"Woah." You whispered, making the teen look at you with obvious confusion.
He awkwardly smiled. "Sorry- I was a bit too close,"
"No, it was my fault. I turned a bit too quick." You sighed, rubbing your eyes. You don't see Toji for a while and now you're comparing strangers to him.
"Megumi? The fuck did you drop now?"
You and the boy looked over at the voice, your eyes widening when you saw Toji appear, his expression turning to a shocked one too.
"Was an accident.." the teenager mumbled before noticing both of your faces. "You two know each other?"
"Go look for what you want." Toji stated.
The boy you know knew as megumi just signed before walking off in the direction of the fridges.
"Toji.."
"y/n.."
You awkwardly smiled. He was surprised to see you after a while, noticing your hair had changed into black braids, blonde ones in contrast falling over your shoulders.
"It's been a while..."
Toji nodded, eyes moving to the bottles you had held against your chest.
"Sure you don't need a basket for those?"
You shook your head.
"I'll be fine.... I'm guessing that's your son you mentioned?" Looking over your shoulder at the teenager who stood in front of the fridges, staring hard at the variety of fizzy drinks.
Toji sighed deeply.
"Yup. My son, megumi. Did he bump into ya?"
"No- it was more my fault. I was in a hurry to get back to my apartment."
Toji almost forgot you lived so close around here.
"About the trip." You brought up, trying to fill the awkward silence. "We'll be going in a week....have you invited anyone of interest?"
Toji nodded.
"Some close... friends."
You smiled, relieved that he still wanted to come.
"Well, I'll see you there then?"
Toji nodded, watching as you walked over to the cashier, paying for the sun cream before leaving.
He wanted to talk to you more. No needed. But by the way you were quick to leave, he figured you had important things to do at your house.
Besides. He'd see you in a week...
⎯⎯ ☾⎯⎯
"Damn, it's hot." Gojo whined for the nth time.
"quit whining or I'll throw another cicada in your face." Geto warned.
That shut Gojo up.
They'd all checked into their hotel rooms a while ago and now they were on the beach, sitting outside near a beach bar, the sun already setting, the sky painted a pale purple and pink.
Toji had told you where you they were but you said there'd be a slight holdup since there was a 'swimsuit emergency'
He was about to suggest they go back to the hotel plaza but Geto suddenly straightened up.
"Who's that cute little thing?"
They all turned and saw you with your two other friends quickly walking over, one of them being Diana. Toji's jaw almost hitting the floor. You were dressed in a solid yellow ruffle trim bikini, white buttoned up shorts, matching white platform sandals and sunglasses on top of your head putting the outfit together.
"So sorry we're late!" You apologized, your friends doing the same after.
"Well, it was definitely worth it-" Geto hummed, eyeing you a bit too flirtatiously for toji's liking.
"We just need to check into our rooms and we'll meet you back down here." Diana quickly explained, dragging you and your friend along in the direction of the hotel plaza.
"If you told me that they were as good looking as that, I would've convinced nanami to come." Geto hummed.
Toji mentally rolled his eyes. "C'mon. Let's set up on the beach."
⎯⎯ ☾⎯⎯
An hour had passed and by now, you were all surrounding a fireplace on the beach, drinks in hand whilst you lounged in beach chairs.
To your surprise, your friends were able to adjust with the new company fairly easily but you guessed it was due to the beer soothing their nerves.
Whilst your two other friends conversed with Gojo and Geto, Toji's eyes never left you. He wanted to talk to you badly, but about what?
He watched you smile at whatever they were talking about, your sweet laugh flooding his ears.
Then he saw you staring at him, your smile disappearing before he heard you call out to him.
"Toji?"
He snapped back into it, noticing everyone was staring at him.
"Uhuh?" He asked, rubbing his temples.
"You okay?" You asked, your voice worried. "Gojo called you twice."
"He's probably still worked up over work and all, don't worry bout him." Gojo cleared, taking another chug of his beer.
"We were askin' if you were gonna head back with us."
He looked back down at his bottle before nodding.
Sheesh he was out of it.
You all packed up, putting the fire out before heading back up to the hotel.
Once you reached your room, you swiped your key card on the door before entering, flopping down onto the bed, your face buried against the soft pillows. Your mind wandered to Toji, your face heating at the memory of his green eyes watching you.
You contemplated just going to sleep but you were still too restless, eventually deciding to slip out of your clothes and run yourself a hot bath.
Once you got to your preferred temperature, you slipped inside, sighing as the heat massaged your muscles.
Before you knew it, your mind wandered back to Toji. You hadn't really thought of him in such a way at your first meeting. Not until he'd...showed interest.
You'd be lying if he wasn't an attractive man. He was tall and had an amazingly built body, not to mention his deep voice that managed to make your skin tingle. Your breath hitched once you felt your hand brush against your clit, face flushing instantly.
Before you could second think it, your hand traveled there again, rubbing your sensitive bud as your thoughts of Toji turned more lewd, your other hand travelling beneath the water to slide into your entrance.
You felt your mind fog over, the heat making you feel dizzier than the beer had as you continued stimulating yourself. Because of all the schoolwork you had to complete before the break, you didn't really have time to....focus on your needs. You quickened your pace, teeth sinking into your bottom lip as you let out airy gasps, eyes squeezing shut as you continued to pleasure yourself, shamelessly picturing toji in your mind.
He was big at first glance which was obvious, and you began to think about the ways he could manhandle you, forcing you into whatever position he pleased.
You let out strained whispers of curses, feeling your orgasm build at sudden speed. It wasn't long before you came around your fingers, your back arching as your toe curled, your thighs clamping shut.
You took a moment to yourself, slowly regaining your strength before getting out of the tub, deciding to take a shower instead since you ruined the water in the bath.
After you quickly cleaned yourself up, you wrapped a bath robe around yourself, turning off the lights and then falling back onto your bed, this time feeling a lot more relaxed.
You were just about to finally doze off before a few knocks at your door broke you from your awaiting sleep.
You sighed, sitting up and checking the time.
23:45
You slipped on your slippers before shuffling over to the door, opening the door slightly and peeking out.
"Oh...Hey.."

Can I request Doc x Nurse assistant! Reader who was treated badly by nurses where they work?
Doc x Nurse!reader
CW: Past abuse/trauma
"Ahem." You jumped slightly, turning around to meet the goggles of your new employer. With his face bandaged and goggles over his eyes, his expression was hard to read. No doubt if you could see it, you'd see the same judgement and irritation from your previous coworkers, before it would spill into anger as they screamed how incompetent, how useless you-
"Could you hand me a roll of bandages? Above your head, to the right." You turned back around, seeing a small cardboard box with 'BANDAGES' scrawled on in sharpie. Rushing to avoid being screamed at, your fingers held the box and-
It slipped from your grasp, the rolls tumbling to the floor, one of them rolling away and unravelling as it went. You followed them to the floor, crying and flinching away. "I'm sorry! I-I didn't mean it-" You cried, shaking and preparing for a slap.
"Are you alright?" Doc's voice was soft, or as soft as he could manage. You looked at him, he was kneeling down on one leg, his hand inches from your shoulder. "It was an accident, I need some new boxes anyway... I'm guessing your training wasn't smooth sailing."
The pair of you were now sitting together, Doc behind his desk, and you in front of it. He'd cleared his desk, serving some lavender tea for you to help calm you down, breaking out a secret stash of cookies he kept hidden for himself. "I'm trusting you with this secret. If the boys knew of this, they'd be raiding my cupboards every night." He chuckled.
Even with his relaxed attitude, you were still on edge, preparing for him to snap in an instant. The Matron was very good at putting up a nice front before doing a rug pull and turning vicious. The physical abuse you could see coming, the mental abuse was something else. The sick irony in care workers being some of the most cruel people you've met.
"So," Doc lowered his mask, showing off his scarred face. Deep scars gouged into his face, a Glasgow smile slit into his cheeks. "do you want to discuss what just happened, or not?"
"Well...." You nibbled on a cookie, trying to calm your nerves. "yeah, I.. I guess. Uh.. um.. It wasn't nice. Well, it was to begin with, but it spiralled fast. Where I trained, it was a real dog-eat-dog place. The strong step on the weak to get what they want. You don't want to follow in their lead, you become a target yourself. I helped a patient another nurse was beating, and that's when the trouble started for me."
A shaky breath escaped your lips. "Take your time, you don't need to go over everything if it's too much." You glanced up at Doc. "We can take a break if you need to."
"How'd you get your scars?" You pointed at your cheek.
Doc cleared his throat and shrugged. "I suppose I can answer that. Deimos and I used to be part of the agency. We were dissenting, and happened to get caught. Or, I did. I was pinned down, one of my former friends pulled his knife and started carving. Deimos put a stop to it by shooting him in the back of the skull. He saved my life, as I had his many times before."
Doc had told you little pieces here and there about how he'd adopted a newborn and orphaned Deimos and raised him, they'd been together since Dei's beginning, a father figure to the little shit.
"He was sobbing, pretty upset. He thought I was gonna die since I was coughing up blood. I had to calm him, and get him to help treat my face. Kid's been through hell with me. Of course that means I know I can trust him with my life."
Out of everyone in the base, Dei and Doc had the strongest bond, but you knew from the subtle glances and awkward flirts that Dei and San's bond was pretty strong too.
"You trust the others?" You glanced behind, almost expecting them to be standing there, but they weren't even close to your location, the three of them on a mission to intercept some more firearms.
"Sanford, sure. He's helped since day one, using his strength, mechanic and cooking skills to help everyone. Sometimes I train with him. A skilled tactician, and a sadist when he needs to be. Good for getting information."
Doc paused, taking a long drink of tea. "Hank on the other hand, absolutely not. He's reckless, downright moronic when he's got a goal in mind. Nothing else matters but meeting it. I don't doubt that one day he's going to try and kill the team. But I know we can put him down when that happens."
That didn't really take away from your worries. "What if Hank hurts me?"
"I'll kill him." Doc's eyes narrowed. "It was hard enough to find a nurse to aid me, let alone one as competent as you are. The only think I believe holding you back is self doubt. You've got potential. I just wish you'd use it."
"You get told you're awful and beaten for it long enough, and you believe it." You replied, swallowing the lump in your throat.
Doc exhaled, a long and resolute sigh. "I suppose I've got a lot of work to do building you back up then." He smiled, his aged features looking rather handsome in the dull light. "I believe in you, and I know you'll be the perfect nurse to this doc."
