Achievement unlocked! I've now spent so much time wondering what motivates the background goon in a daytime soap (Part 1 of my watch of Doctors here) that I dreamed up a whole story about a Joplin character who seemed righteous and good only to turn out in some really shitty twist to have been the Big Bad the whole time. I definitely blogged about it, I also played some 8-bit video game version of the story (very ooc dream me), and I think I even participated directly in the universe at some point to try to umm persuade him not to be evil, actually. I also had a really good samosa.

1. I love how XQC’s shock is described - waves of the sea pouring into his heart etc. HY finally shocked that very calm person.

2. XQC apparently has been chased/confessed to lots of times, by both men and women but nobody has ever been this enthusiastic about it except ex wife. Ah, HY, if you only knew you are being compared to the ex again, you’d have a fit :P But the fact that XQC didn’t really feel anything for LRQ and only married because she chased so hard (which says volumes about how messed up he is and how he sees his life as for others not for himself) but he clearly feels for HY makes all the difference. FWIW, XQC is one of those people who I don’t think can open up first or fall without the other person falling first, so that confession by HY was so necessary.

3. XQC is speaking in a nervous tone (not because he’s terrified HY would pounce but because I think his brain short-circuited and he has no idea how to act) and basically negotiating/coaxing HY to let go and I love this so much. And now he knows, he feels responsibility - of course he does, if XQC isn’t feeling responsible for everything, is he even XQC?

4. Poor HY, telling him to laugh and XQC is all wtf of course I won’t and I love that he’s thinking of HY as a very expensive but very fragile artwork and I love that he’s not laughing or spurning or w/e but giving it proper consideration and thinking through it, even if in shock. I do love that even at this point XQC thinks of himself and HY as two straight men who are just fucking...ummmmmmm.

5. XQC thinking about love and lust not being the same and once again the shadow of his ex-wife is there as he thinks about how she was enthusiastic at first and then got bored and left. HY would never, we all know that, but I love how realistic it is that past baggage affects the future (even if we see that even at this stage, XQC differentiates between HY and ex.)

6. I loooove how at a loss XQC is and has no idea how to deal with the heart even he can tell is sincere. He really is a kind person. But ahahahaha he so can’t believe HY fell in love with him sincerely and fully that he’s contorting himself into explanations - it’s the patient’s dependence, no it’s transfer of HY’s daddy issues where HY sees him as his absent dad (XQC, Freud has been discredited for decades, the gay version of Oedipus complex is not a thing any more.)  But I am glad because their nonsensical argument about various age differences is hilarious.

7. I am sorry, XQC trying to reason HY out of being in love with him is HILARIOUS!!! This is not how emotion works ahahaaha. But you can tell XQC is affected - it mentions his lowering his eyes from the strength of HY’s gaze and similar; he wouldn’t if he were not affected himself.

8. I love their discussion about what love really is because I am Team HY where responsibility and all is great and necessary but liking has to come first and be a prerequisite otherwise you get the situation XQC had with his ex where there was family and responsibility but no like and so both of them got hurt.

9. XQC going “it’s just physical reaction on your part” - ooooh boy good luck dude, you will need it! And he brings up HY’s crush on a girl and I love that HY says he didn’t figure out his actual feelings at the time. Even though XQC disregards it, hopefully when the whole “he liked XX” thing comes out, this conversation would cushion the bad consequences.

10. HY saying that he deserves many deaths for what he’s done but he’s fine with it and just...guuuuh.
