ok so i was already thinking about this before the post i just reblogged but like. considering Athena’s undetermined condition after God Games and everything 🫠

you ever wonder about what that means for Hermes’ role for the rest of the musical? because Athena did have more to play in the legend, so given her current state (or lack thereof rn) in Epic, that could place Hermes into a much larger role being Ody’s godly aid

Hermes already has an ancestral connection to Ody (being his great grandfather) but will there also be an obligation to honor Athena’s wish to bring Ody back to his family? sure he aided Odysseus before but there wasn’t a 100% guarantee that Ody would survive. Hermes just leveled the playing field enough to give Ody a chance

so what is his reason for continuing to help this time? he grew attached? Ody is his prime entertainment? or…….maybe he was moved by Athena’s display during God Games?

idk it’s a thought that’s been spinning around since the saga came out
