Since I am the Sunflower CEO, and I have... *Checks* 74 FOLLOWERS WHAT I decided to make a rain world shipping name masterlist. You can suggest in comments or reblogs. All the names are listed from most common > least common in general, but this isn't a strict rule, some I see equally used. Unique names usually rank higher than two names smashed together, but there are some cases where the two names smashed together roll off the tongue very good

Hello everyone, and welcome!

We are the denizens of the wonderous world we all know and love. And we have all gathered here to speak with you! Got anything you desire to say, ask, or send our way? Do it anytime you wish, and we shall respond - through our voices! - We are voice acting enthusiasts, some of whom, you may have already heard in some Rain World fan projects. You can send anything at a character - images, art, questions, ideas, videos, whatever you wish! And the character shall react - just like in any other askblog. But the difference is not just that we use voiceovers to answer (instead of art), but that the process is fully collaborative. As the VAs of the characters all have full creative control over what they say, instead of following the standard practice of one person writing/deciding everything.

Important things to note (please read before submitting):

When you send us something, make it abundantly clear which character you're addressing. You're allowed to address multiple, or even the entire cast.

NSFW submissions are not allowed. Mildly suggestive ones are fine, but they will not get a response, if the character you're addressing has a minor as its VA, or an adult that would be uncomfortable with it.

This project is fully non-canon. VAs are allowed to use headcanons and personal interpretations when answering. It's also not really meant to be serious, so feel free to send us silly stuff :3

You should only submit things for characters that actually have VAs, as you wouldn't be able to get a response otherwise.

The person primarily running this project and blog is me, @fadebolt. If you wish to voice act a character yourself, shoot me a DM, either here, or in Discord (my name is also 'fadebolt' there, and I'm in the main RW server, so finding me should be easy). There's absolutely no limit with the characters you could ask to VA. Slugcats, iterators, ancients, echoes, scavengers, any other species... they're all available! We also aren't limiting ourselves to just the base game. Characters from Downpour, characters from mods, OCs, and non-canon characters in general are also available (though if you're planning to VA a character owned by someone else, then make sure to consult them first). Just... don't ask for characters who are already taken. Asking to be a backup is fine (in fact, backup VAs would be more than welcome), but we're not stripping anyone of their role, just because someone else asked for it as well. This post will be regularly updated, with the list of all the taken characters, and their VAs. Characters who are not on the list do not have VAs, and are fully open.

Got bored, came up with an Artificer x Saint au based off of the hit vocaloid song Lower by nuyuri (Don't come at me because I gave Arti masc pronouns, I'm projecting in transmasc.)

Taking place between The Monk and The Rivulet's campaigns, the story opens up with Artificer on a walk, sending any scavengers that spot him scattering as he casually passes through a toll. Suddenly, he hears a series of loud PANG noises from the scavenger burrow, and Saint emerges a few seconds after, having ascended the whole pack before they could have reacted.

Curious about Saint while simultaneously unaware of what exactly happened to the scavengers and only knowing that they're likely dead, Artificer greets them cheerfully. Intrigued by Artificer's violent nature combined with their laidback personality, Saint asks him where he's headed, and he replies with "No idea!"

After getting to know each other for a while and exchanging names, they decide to travel together, Artificer being fascinated by Saint and their ability to seemingly kill creatures simply by pointing at them, while Saint is interested in Artificer's seemingly unlimited capacity for violence. Over the course of their travels, they join a local slugcat colony, learning more about each other through every step of their redemption arcs, but one day, Artificer comes to realize the truth about Saint: they're not just killing what they point at, they're ascending them...

Feeling that this is a pretty big secret, Artificer confronts Saint, who tries to calm him down, only to receive a nasty scratch across the eye that prompts him to flee, leaving Artificer to face their colony alone, and they aren't too happy about the fact Artificer had the audacity to attack another slugcat.

As Saint returns to make amends, they arrive just in time to see the pack gathered around, with Artificer about to be executed, tied to a stake above a patch of wormgrass ready to devour them alive. In a last ditch effort to make things right, they ascend Artificer from afar, and flee the scene before any of the other slugcats even see them, let alone realize what happened.

After their escape, they look back on their life with The Artificer, knowing that they will never return, and for the first time, they mourn the death of someone they've ascended.

The story closes with Saint realizing the value of their friendship with Artificer, (which might have been something more all along) and vowing to keep their promise. If they cannot die, then they will simply live life to the fullest until the world finally comes to an end.

I want to hear about the pokemon x rainworld au. It sounds so cool and i totally havent been thinking ahiut something similar.

Okay first of all, THANK YOU FOR ASKING!!!!! I swear to god you're like the hyper fixation fairy, letting me indulge in info dumping and all.

Secondly, I've only played Pokemon X&Y, and that was a WHILE ago, so the information I remember might not be accurate for the AU nor fit it that well. That means I'd absolutely love anyone actually into Pokemon to add something, anything really, to this AU.

HAVING SAID THAT, here's everything I have so far~

One of the specific word building bits I want for this AU is for the Rain world universe be placed within the Pokemon universe. Like, all the lore, characters, everything, just take place within the magic system and vibes of Pokemon. So Ancients would obviously take the role of the humans, but here they're all still ascended and gone. The beings they left behind, both constructed and wild, have pokemon equivalents. Like maybe Red lizards resemble a fire type, vultures a flying or even dragon type, maybe stowaways could be dark or psychic typed!

I really like the idea of Iterators spending their days training or battling each other instead of looking for the solution. Of course there might be remnants of that culture, but I feel like most would be happy with their pokemon. Hell, maybe Moon or NSH could be gym leaders!

For the slugcats I really don't want to lean heavy into the pokemon vibe. I'll obviously design them accordingly, but I really like their simple designs so I just wanna add my own little touch. Though I fully imagine them being obtainable pokemon, for the wild ones at least. Spearmaster, Artificer, and Hunter would all be apart of their respective iterator's teams. SRS, FP, and NSH respectively.

I've only thought about pokedex entries and movesets a tiny bit, so all of what I have will be below:

SYNOPSIS

The Ancients once sought erasure from existence, but now with the power of space travel, they search for a new planet to call home. The world was beyond saving with their actions of seeking escape, at least what most believed. When a rogue iterator threatened the people (unintentionally), most had fled and destroyed the remaining access to a new life, leaving the remnants of a once great civilization to rot. Feeling betrayed, those who had been abandoned worked harder to catch up, only to leave in panic as another threat loomed over the horizon. And at the very end, the iterators who had helped them flee were left alone in a dying world, left to ponder whether it had been worth it.

Askblog is story-driven! Periodically (whenever I give myself time), there will be larger art pieces or comics that drive the story forward and introduce new characters

Gold Droplets is the name of the planetary system! It is named after void fluid, and it resides within the Eclipsed Galaxy

Main planet is the 5th planet, and although it's very cold, there's still warm enough with enough atmosphere to support life

The entire system has been conquered, iterator-esque stations are all over the other planets and celestial bodies

The people (Ancients) have somewhat evolved separately where they were raised

There are 9 generations of iterators total, with a large age gap between gens 3 and 4

Will make images for this later, but after some thinking, ideas, and sleep-deprived convos with my brother, I've figured out what ships to do for the Splitmind AU (again I still need a better name but)

Anyway, the ships in this and how they react:

Hunter x Inv (Not sure the name)

Hunter feels flattered by Inv's flirtatious nature, and finds that it has some combat prowess (and can eat corpses as well) mildly amusing. NSH also keeps bugging Hunter about a mate, since that's 'something creatures are supposed to do, right?' and 'come on, let's do something fun for once!', and Hunter can settle for Inv.

Inv is just glad to have someone to call theirs and cuddle and hold. Inv also adores Hunter and his skills with a spear, and doesn't mind th voice in his head (in some ways, Inv likes it this way since it can connect with Hunter about being a freak of nature/science)

In the Splitmind AU as well, they also have one kid: A weird little sluggie named Apprentice by NSH.

Artificer x Scav Chieftain (Again IDK the name)

This one needs explaining.

Long story short, SM Arti killed the chieftain, took his mask, and tried to ascend but got pulled out before she echo'd. This was kind of a wake-up slap for her, realizing her extreme violence had gone too far and it didn't even fill the hole in her heart. So with the mask and a bunch more pearls in hand, she set out to fix things.

Basically, she started to repair her scav rep and eventually made her way to the Chieftain again, gave him his mask back, and was about to go before he offered her to stay for a bit (He was so utterly shocked by her actions and also wanted to keep an eye on her).

Eventually, they just naturally fell for each other. They've got one scavcat pup named King, he's a lil' silly guy.

And das it, normally I love to ship but the splitmind AU just doesn't have a whole lot here shrug

For some non-romantic relationships, though, here's a few more:

-Survivor and Monk treat Nightcat like a sister, and she travels with them.

-Gourmand is great friends with Artificer and Suns, but not Spearmaster (hilariously). This is because Suns wants to study Gourmand and loves how indulgent he is, meanwhile Spears could literally care less since it can't even eat food normally.

-Saint and Spearmaster get along because they both don't really like the voices in their heads. Neither are interested in a relationship, but it's about as close to partners as you can be without being it. They travel together and take care of each other.

-Rivulet is great friends with Nightcat, who has feelings for Ruffles but won't ever say it. (By extension, Ruffles is also friends with Survivor and Monk)
