☆Hi! So i wanna post a little about my mha DR because im really hyperfixated on it rn😭
So here it goes Ig if you have any questions feel free to ask Im more than willing to respond
★・・・・・・★
MHA DR ♡
Name:Bianca
Nicknames:Bee,Bia
Age:15
Height:5'4
Pronouns;She/they
Nationality:Portuguese
Appearence
I don't have a faceclaim but I used AI to try and mimick what I kinda look like
Also if u see me using any pics where the hair is longer it still makes sense because I spontaneously change mine anyways
★・・・・・・★
Quirk ⭐️
Quirk Description: it's called celestial control and I can basically control the moon and the sun , and based on the time of day, as in if its day or night I have different abilities
Day; I have energy manipulation, energy absorption, light manipulation, manipulation of the light spectrum, pyrokinesis and I can change light into physical matter
Night; I can manipulate shadows and dreams, I can create illusions, manipulate gravity, I can teleport between shadows, I can control blood (which doesnt have to be in people's bodies) and have other vampirism attributes, I can also manipulate the stars and their light into weapons and blasts
Drawback; Guys I haven't thought of one yet HELP 😭😭😭
Also during solar eclipses something diff happens but I'll probably make a whole other post about that
★・・・・・・★
Hero Suit !
So I don't have like an official hero suit but just so you guys understand the vibe of the suit which isn't really a suit anyways
Now this does have some practical functionalities I haven't thought of which ones but it does also it isnt a dress in like the picture it has pants I promise
Backstory :D
My backstory is not as intriguing as half of the people here it's so cringy but like idk
My parents weren't exactly common folk in this case my mother was a pro-hero called storm (yes same powers but not that storm) and my dad was out of the picture. From an early age, I exhibited an affinity for the sun and moon.
As a child, my quirk manifested unexpectedly. One sunny afternoon, while I was playing in the backyard, I reached out to touch a sunflower. And to my surprise, the flower caught on fire. My mother and my grandma who were both there there at the time were both amazed and concerned.
But mother dearest being a pro here handled it pretty well I would say, later on during my younger years I jst kept discovering I could do stuff it's like every day I would wake up and it's like wow I didnt know I could do that
Neat Ig
Anyways I had a pretty chill childhood I'll say, but I did know shoto and Momo and Iida before coming to UA cuz rich people know rich people.
★・・・・・・★
Relationships <3
So my S/O is Bakugo but my dear people I have a DR that is practically the same as this one but my S/O is Shigaraki cuz he's my favourite character, I jst didn't know how to make him my S/O in this one and I love my Angry Pomeranian man aswell so, anyways if u see me calling Shigaraki my S/O its jst different DRs
Anyways he's so silly lol
Name:Katsuki Bakugo
Age:15
Height:6'1
Love language:Quality time and physical touch
(his definition of quality time is training until my bones are mush ☹️☹️☹️)
Confession:Angrily blurting it out in an argument...Guys I'm a sucker for this
10/10 accurate representation of our relationship
I'll probably make a separate post with scenarios I've scripted in my DR lol
★・・・・・・★
☆Now for the friendships !!
So my friendgroup is mostly the bakusquad, I've been a mha fan since 2019 so yes bakusquad is forever in my memories

☆Kirishima - He's honestly my like best guy friend here
☆Mina - I Love her SM my bestie <333
☆Sero - He's the mom friend I appreciate him
☆Denki - I'm so excited to jst do dumb shit with him
Yeah those are all my best friends emphasises on Mina tho
Out of the bakusquad I scripted 2 of my CR friends in
☆Bea - Either keeps me from doing dumbshit or does it with me i love her, I made her s/o todoroki cuz Im nice
☆Mari - Childhood friend I've known her for 9 years now I think, most loyal hoe on the planet, obsessed with mickey mouse, just that should let you know she needs no s/o
And I'm also rll good friends with Jirou, Hagakure and Tsuyu I'm clearly a girl's girl
I dont have a bad relantionship with anyone in class cuz I scripted mineta out #self-care
This is the seating and dorm arrangements btw and i will take no criticism for them😙
I FORGOT TO PUT AOYAMA IN THIS ONE BTW
There are the dorms which were also meticulously crafted to however the fuck I wanted them ☺️
★・・・・・・★
Anyways I think that's all I have to say for now ask any questions if u have them and yh sorry for any spelling errors english is not my first language
-Bee⭐️

legend : [Y/N = your name] they/them pronouns used, quirk not mentioned
note(s) : happy 3k ‼️ thank you all for all the love, and most especially those that continue to send love, and indulge in my works. further context, this is what the bnha boys/men learned by being with you :))
»»————- ♡ ————-««
midoriya izuku
↮ that his opinion does matter. okay— it’s not like you handed his confidence to him, no that’s different. but, you are a main contributor to the sudden increase of confidence in himself. before, he was just so used to be brushed aside, other people being told to ignore him whenever he does this, and for his rambles to be ignored like white noise— but after you showed up and spent some time with him, he realizes that it’s not the end of the world if he does ramble, and it’s not the end of the world to not be confident about your opinions 100% of the time, but what does matter is that his opinion was heard. which ultimately lead to him being more confident in expressing his own opinions, not caring if it’s apart of the vase majority, or the minority. he’ll forever love you for this.
todoroki shouto
↮ that taking your time isn’t abnormal. shouto, being someone that had little to no set example of what romance is, and being exposed to romance comedies, and tv shows— made him realize something. that people were already kissing on the first date, and he felt well,, under developed because of it. he was never the biggest fan of physical touch, it’s not to say that he never wanted to kiss you, he always does want to, but— he won’t just kiss you just because it’s the first date, or because the movies said so, even as much as he wanted to, no. that’s not what he wanted. he felt worried that he was moving too slowly, compared to the examples he’s seen online but— you say things differently. you allowed him to take his time, showing him patience as you peck him on his temples, and he couldn’t be more grateful to love someone like you.
bakugou katsuki
↮ that being vunerable isn’t a bad idea. you’re even aware of the many few boundaries katsuki has set up for himself— like no pda. which, you’re perfectly fine with, but katsuki hated the idea of being vunerable because well,, people shoved him onto this pedestal at a very young age, he’s thee bakugou katsuki, there’s no room for vulnerability (or so he thinks) besides all might and deku, you’re really the only one that has seen the vulnerable bakugou katsuki, not the loud and explosive one everyone is used to. he was repulsed by the idea, but after the first time he allowed himself to cry on your lap, shedding tears as he trembles in your caring embrace— he realized that he has someone, and that someone wouldn’t care for the world if he wasn’t this big and strong person 24/7. he won’t say it out loud, but he’s incredibly thankful
kaminari denki
↮ that people do take him seriously. nearly everyone sees this man as this.. class clown, goof ball, and that he’s ‘stupid’ or he’s ‘lacking braincells’ most of the time, and that’s all they make him out to be. denki doesn’t like drowning in self pity, but he can’t help it, why doesn’t anyone take him seriously? but wait, that’s when you come along. it was heartbreaking to say the least when you saw how shocked he was when you wanted to hear his plans and ideas. to anyone else, it might appear to be the bare minimum, but it’s everything to denki. to be taken seriously when the time says so, to be treated like the next person with ambitions. sure, he loves being a jokester, he loves making people laugh, but he can’t bite back the smile, when he sees you worry about him after every short circuit, and kiss him on the cheek whenever he comes back to his senses.
shinsou hitoshi
↮ that not everyone’s opinion is valid. okay hear me out, that might be considered a bad thing, but it’s really not. in fact, it’s a good thing. hitoshi’s just used to hearing sugar coated and backhanded compliments being thrown his way, people saying that “you’d be a good villain, at least!” but, he doesn’t want to be a villain. sometimes they’re not even backhanded, and he’s just used to accepting it as it is. because, everyone has been thinking that way, since well— he first manifested his quirk. but that’s when you come along, and blow away his expectations. you weren’t afraid to tell him the truth, that he shouldn’t have allowed all of them to insult him like that, since he deserved all of the good that was in the world. that wasn’t the part that stuck out the most, but it was the part where you told him that it’s the intent that mattered, and who cares if his quirk seems villainous, as long as he meant well? for once in his life, he stopped paying attention to the senseless comments, and focused on what really mattered— you.
kirishima eijirou
↮ that you don’t need a flashy quirk to be honorable. his quirk, while it took some time for it to be in the state that it is today, it has always been an insecurity of his, not that he’d admit that. that he can’t create big explosions or large glaciers of ice like bakugou or todoroki, or he can’t create whatever he desired like yaoyorozu, he just felt,, plain sometimes. which was something he never voiced out in such a blunt manner before, since he always presented himself as this cheery dude that’s always ready for the occasion. it might be easy, he probably curses at himself for being under your spell a little bit too easily, but he feels great whenever you praise him for his hard work, and especially his quirk. even when the insecurity slips out by accident, and when you’re questioned if you really meant that, you stay true to your statement, and that was an eye opener.
amajiki tamaki
↮ that there are other ways of being strong. look, it’s not like tamaki’s quirk is weak— in fact, it’s the very opposite, but his self esteem, and the absence of a sociable personality does take a toll on him sometimes. he feels like he can’t do anything right, especially when he mutters, messes up on what he wants to say, more importantly when he has an idea on what to say. he feels helpless, compared to the other two strong personalities of UA’s big three. and that’s why, you’ve showed him that shyness is completely normal and fine, and it’s not just him that struggles with socializing— and besides, tamaki does have other strong points, like his ability to be considerate with his actions, and his carefully selected words of affirmation whenever he sits next to you on a date. tamaki might be socially uh.. weak sometimes, but he’s come to realize that it’s fine, since he has other strong parts!
monoma neito
↮ that he won’t be forgotten, and also— that being nice to class 1-A doesn’t sound that bad. come to think of it, neito DOES have a nice side in him, but it’s just not exposed to class 1-A for several different reasons (that are layered) when he was younger, he was told that his quirk wasn’t that spectacular, people have underestimated his quirk a lot. not because it’s ‘boring’ but because it just ‘copies other quirks,’ and has no individual attributes. thus, lead neito to act out as an attempt to stand out and not be ‘boring.’ in reality, neito doesn’t realize that he’s anything close to that, and that he can be remembered in the best ways. like, when you first saw his room, and it was covered in pastels, and whenever he sees you, the first thing he says is a compliment. who would’ve guessed it from him? and most importantly, when he is nice to class 1-A, he finds himself laughing at amusement— and he thinks ‘hey! this,, isn’t bad.’ it’s a slowburn for him to finally act like how he is with his class but hey, process!
dabi todoroki touya
↮ that he needs someone. how ironic, a villain— needing someone, and all for what? just to be abandoned for someone better? no thanks. you didn’t actually shove it in his face for him to realize it but, you did contribute to it. his staples were starting to falling off again after another gruesome mission, dabi didn’t feel like plucking them out himself, but he knows that he has to— he went to go pick them off, until, you come in. a stapler in your hand, as you practically make him sit tightly as you replaced the staples. it stings, not that he’ll ever admit that, he’ll just stick to making fun at you in such dabi fashion. but ugh, there’s that warmth again everytime he looks at you. it’s not the cruel burn, similar to his quirk— but it’s,, gentle. it makes him want to disembowel himself, but he doesn’t mind it when you touch the cool metal. just,, get out of his face before he decides to flame you, all just because he learned that he needs someone (he won’t actually flame you but ugh, he’s still dealing with that kind of warmth you’re making him feel)

Hhhhh could you write a sequel to the hades fic???? it was SOO good!!!!!!
For Dear Life (Hades & Persephone AU)
Notes: (continued from here) Hello anon, I'm very happy to hear you enjoyed the Hades/Persephone fic! As I've said before, I love mythologies!
S/O is gender neutral (they/them pronouns). Barok refers to them using petnames.
Content Warnings: abducted / hostage situation; power imbalance; intense emotions; Tia seriously screws around with Greek mythology. Like really REALLY screws around...; I'm sorry historians (again!) and mythologists
It was impossible to say whether or not the underworld met their expectations, because such things were normally so abstract and not a subject they really thought of; so, to be suddenly confronted by the literal domain of the dead, was utterly mind-boggling.
All they really remembered, as the chariot dove deep into the bowels of the earth was the feeling of the God of the Underworld holding them close and partly shielding them with his long cloak of darkness. It had surprised them to hear a heart beating in the deity's chest – surely that was something of an oxymoron?
With a firm shake of their head, they quietly wondered why they were dwelling upon that precise detail; it seemed like such a trivial thing...
They had been escorted to a garden within the deity's palace: the plants were unusual colours and shapes, no doubt thanks to the lack of sunlight they enjoyed, but it was a soothing space nonetheless and one that helped their racing thoughts to calm. As they looked around and overhead, it struck them how easy it was to forget this was a subterranean domain given how high the vaulted cavernous ceilings were.
"It is a pleasant garden, is it not?" a familiar, but terrifying, voice remarked as the tall and imposing Lord of the Dead entered the space.
Instantly the feeling of calm abandoned them and they stood with a small yelp of shock, "........" even if they'd wanted to speak, it was as if their voice was stuck in their throat.
"...." the God's expression was momentarily odd, they might have taken it as him being wounded or even disappointed, before he cleared his throat and sat on a bench fashioned from black marble, ".... I have no intentions to harm you. It may be difficult to believe that, but it is the truth... won't you come here?" he held out a hand, "I have shown you a great deal of discourtesy thus far in failing to properly introduce myself... My rashness can only be attributed to the passion you make me feel. It is... very out of my usual character."
And it was, for the Lord of the Underworld was known among his brethren as a level-headed judge who maintained utmost composure at all times. In fact, they often described him as being 'cold as a corpse' and brutal when it came to matters of logic or strategy. Impulsiveness was an unknown concept in his mind, until now...
"...I... am fine here," they replied, settling back down in grass that appeared to be more peacock blue than green.
"... Very well," once more he wore that wounded expression, but the God seemed willing to respect their reluctance, "I am the God of the Underworld, I believe your kind call me 'Hades'."
"... Hades," yes -- that was what humans called the stern God beneath the earth, but it sounded to them as if that might not be his real name, "Is... that not your name, then?"
A smile graced and lifted his features for a moment, brightening them in an unexpected way, "You are as astute as I thought... that is correct: my 'true' name is not Hades, though, mortals may call me whatever they wish."
"Then... what is your real name?" this topic of conversation made them curious: where had the names of the Gods actually come from? Were they brought to the minds of men in a dream? Or did the Gods themselves provide false identities, if so then why?
"Mmm," he looked momentarily pensive, "That is a secret, for now... a God's true name holds great power. To entrust it to another is akin to making a vow."
Their eyes widened, "Oh... I... I see."
"You will forgive me if I do not offer up something so personal at this delicate juncture, I am aware that your presence here is entirely of my doing and that you are... unhappy about it. I will not keep it a secret any longer than I must."
"...." it made sense that a God would not trust a relative stranger with something that seemed to hold a great deal of power. They wanted to ask more about it: what did it mean to know a God's true name? What kind of 'vow' did it create? But, it seemed more prudent to leave the topic for now, "... Please won't you let me go home?" they asked, eyes pleading, "I am... flattered to have caught the eye of a God, but I am a mere mortal. I cannot see what lasting intrigue I would have to a divine being such as yourself."
The Lord of the Underworld tilted his head, "Do you think me a shallow man who saw your beautiful face and thought only of that?" he shook his head, "I appreciate that we Gods have a less than glowing image among mortals, and that we have a reputation for treating humans in a superficial manner, but, that is not why I have brought you here. I do not see you as some pretty trophy to keep until I tire of you. Though you are beautiful, yes, it is not simply your appearance that has captivated me so."
"What...?" for some reason his impassioned words made their heart thud in their chest; did he really meant to say that he, a God, had fallen in love with them?
"You possess a quality of character and strength of spirit that has quite simply dazzled me... I have watched you from afar, seen how you have helped your fellows and maintained your grace and resolve even in the face of adversity. I was blinded by more than just your looks."
They blinked a few times, going over his words again and again in muted silence. How could they respond to such a heartfelt answer? It was clear that the God of the Underworld was sincere, if nothing else-- but, this was too much to take in.
"... I'm sure it must come as a surprise to hear a God's confession, but I cannot yearn from afar any longer... that is why I have brought you here. So that I might marry you and take you for my spouse."
"This... it's... this is far more than a surprise... it's shocking. I'm a simple human, surely there are other Gods and Goddesses that are better suited to wed one such as you?"
The God chuckled, "Gods and Humans aren't so different you know... We're possessed of the same diversity of thought and feelings, the same irrational sensibilities and yearnings... it is not as if for every God there is a comparable divine partner. In fact, I find a number of my divine brethren to be a noisy, irksome lot and ill-suited to my temperament. I gladly opted to rule the Underworld for it lessens the time I have to spend with them."
".... huh?" suddenly, they couldn't help but giggle, "... Are you... saying that you view the Gods as annoying relatives?"
"...." he pursed his lips, "Well... they are."
"Oh... I had no idea... So, you came here willingly?" he nodded, "That's not what our books say: apparently you drew lots with your brothers and received the underworld having drawn the shortest straw."
"...?" he looked genuinely bemused by that account, "... I've... never heard something so ridiculous in all my life... drew lots? By the Gods, no. The last thing I would want is to rule the Gods and endure the constant politics of Mount Olympus. Truth be told, I have no idea how my brother manages it..."
Once more they were laughing, for the God of the Underworld --Hades himself-- looked utterly aghast, "Oh! But what about the sea then? Wouldn't you have preferred your brother Poseidon's domain?"
"First, Poseidon is not my brother, he was a 'brother-in-arms' who assisted me and my brother... second, the sea is not much better than Olympus given its relative proximity. I find that my brethren are far slower to make the trek down into the bowels of the earth than any other place."
"I... had no idea the Lord of the Underworld was so anti-social," they mused, smiling to themself having almost entirely lost their nervousness, "But... I suppose it makes some sense, given that your domain is that of the dead. Have you... always been like this?"
"Like what?" he cocked his head.
"... Disagreeable to spending time with other Gods."
"I suppose so," he folded his arms, as if trying to recall some divine equivalent of childhood, "There are so many irksome and tedious Gods in the world, I discovered that during the wars with the Titans."
"Oh... so those wars actually happened then? Our human books are right about that much at least?" he nodded, "So... are the myths about your brother, Zeus, true?"
"What myths about Zeus?"
"That he's the most terrible womaniser who forces himself upon anything that catches his eye?"
"What?!" he stood up, clearly flustered, "Who dares to tarnish my brother's name so?! He's not some philandering hedonist! He's a man of the utmost integrity and happily married! Not to mention his wife would punish him severely were he to hold such callous disregard for the mortals..." suddenly, he stopped his ranting and looked apologetic as he sat down, "... Forgive me, that outburst was uncalled for..."
"I'm... surprised," they said, "Because our myths suggest that you and Zeus do not get along... but you seem incredibly fond of him... oh... and what did you mean that Poseidon is not your brother? Aren't all the Gods related?"
"Of course I'm fond of him," the God said, "He's my brother... and as for your other questions.... what kind of inbred bedlam do you think the Gods live in? We are not begat as generations of mortals, we all issued forth from the black waters of Chaos..."
"But how are you and Zeus related if all Gods are not born?"
"I... was a weak little God when I emerged from the primordial darkness, in fact it was questionable whether or not I would survive. Zeus took pity on me, and shared with me his ichor.... that sustained me and breathed life into me. We are brothers who share the same blood, literally."
"Oh... wow... I had no idea..."
"Why would you? It is not as if we Gods are at pains to correct the fantasies that mortals dream up to explain the world around them," he folded his arms, "I'm... glad you seem a little less nervous in my presence."
"Ah..." they blinked, "Now that you mention it, I do feel a lot calmer."
"That's good... I hope, with time, that perhaps you will... take a liking to me."
"...." funnily enough, seeing more of the God's character had endeared him to them, "I... can't make any promises," they said, while looking down and smiling.
He seemed to pick up on that coyness, "Hmmm... that's better than an outright no. Now, I should like to show you my domain. Do you feel up to a chariot ride? I won't burst up from the earth this time and grab you..."
"In that case, yes."

MY BOY IS STILL A DICK - NOT MUCH HAS CHANGED
he’s the oldest twin and yes it fucking matters
he’s also the biggest bastard in this bitch and that matters too
surrounded by a dorm full of other bastards amycus would say he has a pretty good time with the bros
he was the first of the lot to take the mark - being the older twin does have perks (he’s not 100% sure this was one of them but he’s not mad about it either)
S L Y T H E R S L U T
alecto has always been his number one - don’t test this
loves to build a swamp and/or flood rooms/floors/homes as a petty vengeance
he’s a dick to almost everyone but he does genuinely care about people
he likes to fight
loves it
he doesn’t need a reason to fight you
he will just throw hands in your direction
if he calls you by a nickname feel special
he likes cats and stops to pet every cat he comes across at the castle and dares you to judge him for it
sybill gave him a christmas kitten - he named it primrose (aw) but he did it in bulgarian so no one would know how cute he was being
he hates his parents (he’d be a momma’s boy if his mother wasn’t a useless, absent, drunken whore with a drug problem ..... god, amycus, that sounds familiar, you okay buddy?)
has a stabbing problem
he wouldn’t call it a problem, he’d call it a solution
this last birthday was the best one yet, as far as he’s concerned. it was so good, someone literally d i e d

Congratulations, SIDNEY! You’ve been accepted for the role of LADY MACBETH. Admin Rosey: Ah, my dear Lady Macbeth. Sidney, you capture her so effortlessly, it almost scares me a little bit. Her voice simply flows so easily, so dangerously easy that it enraptures us all. What with her purr that could make any person fall to their knees, and the way that she strikes terror with little to no mind for the psychological fractures that she is likely to cause. Your plot points in particular had us all practically salivating for the drama that you are promising to bring. Bring the terror, the brimstone, and the damnation, Sidney. We are ready for it all. Please read over the checklist and send in your blog within 24 hours.
WELCOME TO THE MOB.
Out of Character
Alias | Sidney Age | 21 Preferred Pronouns | She/her Activity Level | I’m fairly active! I’m usually here when I’m not working or sleeping, and most likely mobile and available to plot. I get to replies within 1-3 days depending on muse and time management! On a numerical scale, I’d say I’m a 6-7/10. Timezone | EST Current/Past RP Accounts | This is my most recent, and this is another from the past few months! And of course there’s my old DV account here!
In Character
Character | Lucrezia Falco / Lady Macbeth (I do plan on sending in a Cressida app (hopefully) by Saturday, but I’d be happy to potentially play either so I will defer to your judgement upon acceptances! Thanks so much for reading, love you all <3)
Lucrezia Carina Falco (née Ricci) LUCREZIA:“profit, wealth”, a name she’s taken quite literally since the day she looked up its meaning. To say it gave her a complex would be a vast understatement. If it had been anyone else who had discovered such a thing — that their given name means pure profit — it surely wouldn’t have created a monster. But the same cannot be said of the little princess who bore it one fine January morn. Thirty years in the making, and Lucrezia suits her better now than it ever has, as she walks the marbled floors of Falco Manor, donned in the finest of silks from the best of designers. A name can mean so many things, and in her case, she turned Lucrezia into gold. CARINA: “little darling”, once her mother’s name and cherished tenfold since the day she died. It fits you, mi carina, her mother would say before tucking her into bed at night with a kiss to her temple. Little darling, she’d coo despite her daughter turning into anything but. Though it became a persona she’d wear whenever she was feeling particularly cautious. Carina, she’d whisper with a small, calculated smile as she introduced herself to new strangers. With a bat of her lashes and lips painted a blushing pink, Lucrezia became a different woman. Someone her mother would have loved, someone she would have approved of. It’s a comfortable mask, one easily slipped on, but a mask nonetheless. It fits, but it doesn’t feel quite right. FALCO:It sits atop her shoulders in a black shroud, casting long shadows and grasping throats tightly with its wide reach. Mikael’s surname once tasted like candied cherries atop her naive tongue, sweet and rife with possibility—but it’s long since turned rotten in her mouth. Still, she wears it. Like a shield, pieces of armor she’s nailed and stapled to her chest with triumph. He may have been born with it but it was her who made it anything to bow before. It had no power, no fear or fealty attached to it with him in tow for there are only two uses for rabid dogs: annihilation and worship. He’s good for both, not much else. She’ll don it for now, milk that wretched man for all he and his name are worth and, by God’s gracious graces, that’s still something. For now.
What drew you to this character? | Lucrezia’s just so unapologetic; she is who she is and ever since birth, and never has she wavered. She knows what she loves: power. She knows what her best assets are: her sexuality. Instead of spending her life fighting to rise above everyone simply seeing her as this unattainable object, she embraces this so-called stereotype and uses it to her benefit. Manipulation is not only her best skill, but it’s her way of life. Since she was a child, she’s been told to change nearly every fundamental aspect of herself, to mold and shift and evolve into this delicate flower everyone thinks she should be, but she refuses. She is who she is—like it or not, and if you don’t, well, then she’ll convince you. Lucrezia derives true pleasure from making people squirm, bending and twisting their will just so she can get what she wants. Through pain or through pleasure, it doesn’t matter as long as they offer up exactly what she wants to hear. What it all boils down to is that reaction. Ranging from igniting pure, unadulterated rage from an enemy or sparking an animalistic, carnal desire in a lover’s eyes, all that matters is what they give her. With the smirk of her ruby-coated lips coupled with the sultry sway of her hips, or the hard slap of her leather encased hand followed by the sharp heel of her boot, people will kneel. They will obey.
I’m so drawn to her and all the power she has, whether it’s been created and cultivated by her through the Falco name, or entirely imagined simply because of her inflated sense of self worth. As a writer, it doesn’t matter to me because her motives are so crystal clear. She just wants more. That’s all she’s ever wanted, and I so desperately want to give it to her by any means necessary. There’s a reason they whisper Lady Macbeth behind her back; and she wears the pet name with pride despite the ashen taste of Mikael’s name being attached, but the lady always comes first.
What is a future plot idea you have in mind for the character? | ONE: All her life everyone around her has told her exactly who she was supposed to be: delicate, tender, angelic. Characteristics that, if you truly knew Lucrezia they wouldn’t describe the raven-haired, irresistible dame by a long shot. While she could mimic these attributes, they did not come naturally. And it was those completely opposite traits which define Lucrezia that Mikael was first drawn to. Though she may still not be sure whether she truly love(s)d Mikael, she keeps him around. His attractiveness comes from the power the Falco name now elicits—all due to Lucrezia and her hunger for notoriety. Can’t find a man who will make you a queen? Then make one. And so she did. From the moment she saw him, she saw opportunity. But that only got her so far, unfortunately. At the moment, Mikael is just as useless as his rank. Not a single soul fears the name Falco—no—and with fear comes respect. Lucrezia has worked hard to change this, shaping and molding Mikael into a man who can command a faithful following, burrowing his insecurities behind a false sense of confidence from simply being her husband. Lucrezia’s affections can do wondrous things—turn simple people into leaders, mere men into gods. She turned Mikael into the perfect soldier for the Capulets and they should adore her for it. They should want to be her. But is adoration enough? No — never. Still very low in the ranks of the Capulet’s, she has her sights on something better: a crown. One clad with the finest jewels in all of Verona, dripping in the blood of whomever dares to step in her path. The only things Lucrezia pledges full loyalty to are herself and opportunity. She’ll need to decide quickly whether or not Mikael could be useful in helping her climb the ranks or if she would benefit from finally putting the poor dog to sleep.
I’d love to explore her specific manipulations of Mikael and his rank. He pushed her (and his own) feet through the door, but he is still only just a soldier and she is still only just an emissary. If he has nothing more to offer, then she would not even blink at the thought of killing him, or even carefully orchestrating such a tragedy. People always pity and underestimate a poor and young widow, a role she’ imagines she could play perfectly.
TWO: Where there is death, there is opportunity—at least to Lucrezia. With the news of Alvise’s demise spreading like the plague, she can’t wait to see how it all unfolds. Undoubtedly, the Capulets will be accused of committing such a horrible act, igniting a war among the feuding families, creating absolute chaos. And there’s nothing she loves more than a little mayhem. If she was a betting girl, she’d put her money on the very side Alvise pledged his allegiance to as the guilty party for the crime of putting an end to his very, very important life. There’s nothing like the hunger for power; Lucrezia is all too familiar with such a craving. Being an emissary has its perks. You’re given a direct line to the Boss’ needs and therefore delegated with the tasks deemed too dirty for the them. There’s something pure about being in the trenches, getting your boots wet (with blood), so to speak. You always know where you stand when you’ve got your heel to someone’s throat. Breaking and bending the enemies of Cosimo Capulet has its benefits. Lucrezia is free to do what she wants as long as the job gets done, but freedom is dangerous when a guard dog is given the opportunity to rip out its owner’s throat. All they’d have to do is offer her a particularly delectable bone as incentive. She wouldn’t give it a second thought, lunging at the opportunity to betray her so-called “family” if it meant ending up that much closer to a throne.
One of the only things she’s loyal to is opportunity. I can see her figuratively splitting herself in two. One side reaching toward Vivianne or Rafaella, going straight to the source and attempting to seduce them—platonically or romantically—by any means necessary. Mikael is, after all, only a soldier and Lucrezia is hungry. Her other half would be seeking any and all opportunities to inch her way into bed with a Montague and work her way up. Defecting would be a betrayal by anyone’s standards except Lucrezia’s.
THREE: Love can bring anyone to their knees—except Lucrezia. After all, the person she loves most is herself. While she finds lust and infatuation entertaining, and may even develop real feelings from one of her many, many trysts, they can all be reduced to ash in the palm of her hand as quickly as they were sparked to life. Nothing and no one will stand in her way—not even herself. Legally, her heart is tethered to Mikael and for that, he’ll remain loyal and grateful, despite his jealous tendencies. He has every right to be possessive, of course, because Lucrezia belongs to no one—not even her him. Assuaging her husband’s envious passion is easy, though; all she has to do is smile. She’s found a great friend in Delilah, but deep down she’s still unsure of whether or not the girl can cut it. If she cannot instill in her the same selfishness that’s gotten Lucrezia this far in life, she may have to cut ties with her as well. No matter the cost. Lucrezia will always blow through people’s lives like a tornado leaving only obliterated hearts and the burning embers of betrayal in her wake.
I’d love to explore a new relationship in her life, one where she sets her sights on someone with every intention of completely devouring them. Perhaps they will surprise her at every turn, matching her witty remark for witty remark and keeping her on her toes. Maybe they’ll be easy prey, weak and naive and capable of great manipulation. While there’s no doubt she’d be absolutely fascinated with someone just as devious and unapologetic as herself, Lucrezia would still ultimately throw them to the wolves to further her own personal interests. God help the lover who stands in her way, or worse tries to change her for the better. Lucrezia’s already perfect the way she is; this she knows. But they can surely try.
Are you comfortable with killing off your character? | Yes.
In Depth
In-Character Interview:
What is your favorite place in Verona?
“Mmm… The Dark Lady,” she purrs, the words pouring from her mouth like molasses, beckoning the interviewer to lean in closer as if she’s going to reveal a secret meant just for their ears.
“Music echoing off the walls and swirling with the soft chatter of Verona’s most notorious gluttons and the city’s biggest hedonists—it’s wonderful.” Her eyes fall shut for a moment as she settles in and leans back on the sofa, stretching her arms out on either side of the pillows behind her.
“There’s something about the smell of depravity in there I just love. The gambling, the liquor. And lust just hangs in the air like a thick fog,” she chuckles wryly, but her eyes shimmer, igniting with a mischievous wanton eagerness. “You never know what’s going to happen,” she leans forward once more, crossing her legs and winking at the interviewer.
What does your typical day look like?
“It’s rare that I wake up alone,” she mutters quietly, twirling a curled strand of her hair around her index finger—a tic she’s picked up along the years, usually stemming from boredom.
“I wake, I dress, I stumble—depending on how drunk I still am—back to my room and sleep or change and then leave the Emelia.“ She rolls her eyes carelessly, tossing her hair over her shoulder and leaning forward to take a sip of the tea the interviewer offered her when she sat down.
“Depending on the day, I either head to the Cathedral for work or I wander the streets, looking for entertainment. I can’t stand days sitting around doing nothing. I need to be moving,” she emphasizes her words with her hands dramatically, “I need to live, but you know, you can always find me at The Dark Lady or The Tempest come dusk.”
What are your thoughts on the war between the Capulets and the Montagues?
“War,” she deadpans, brushing away a few stray strands of blonde hair from her face. “It’s a waste of time, if you want me to be honest.” She doesn’t wait for them to ask her to expand. If Lucrezia is known for anything, it’s for speaking her mind whether it’s warranted or not.
“You’ve got one side, filled with — by anyone’s definition, especially their own — do-gooders. Saints, if you will. They’ve worked so hard to re-brand and re-build their name so it not only invokes respect, but one of generosity as well,” leaning forward, Lucrezia reaches for her silver cigarette case and lifts it from the coffee table in front of her. In one swift motion, she pulls one out, lights it, and takes a long first drag.
“Y-y-y-you can’t smoke in here,” they chirp, stuttering as if they’re afraid to scold her for fear she may tear out their throat. She chuckles and exhales, blowing the smoke up and to the right as she leans back once more into the plush cushions of the couch.
“Anyway, like I was saying, you’ve got the Saints, right? A real underdog; a redemption story. But then you’ve got the other side — the Sinners. Debauchery courses through their veins. I mean, it has to if you’re going to be in their line of work, doesn’t it?”
She takes another long drag, narrowing her eyes at the interviewer across from her. Their pen shakes ever-so-slightly in their hand—tremors from being in the presence of someone so domineering, if Lucrezia had to guess. The assumption brings a devilish grin to her wine-stained lips.
“But Saints always rely on Sinners to do their dirty work. The promise of becoming a Saint is all a hopeful Sinner needs to surrender their free will and execute orders deemed too evil for a Saint. But in my opinion…” she lingers, taking one last drag from her cigarette, before leaning in again. The interviewer leans forward in tandem, hanging on her every word.
“I love guns just as much as I love drugs,” she whispers, tossing her cigarette into the cup of tea atop the table, pushing herself to her feet and walking out.
In-Character Para Sample: Ten years ago —
A doe-eyed, fresh-faced, twenty-two-year-old Lucrezia stepped out of the cab into the cool summer air. She took in a deep breath, savoring the moonlight as it bounced off her caramel skin and basking in the light breeze rolling through from the west. Soft giggling echoed off the balconies above and she could hear a distant, yet very loud thumping of the bass all the way down onto the street. She could practically feel the pavement vibrating beneath her Louboutin sandals.
She lived for nights like these, nights filled with luxurious outfits and promiscuity. In fact, she spent all week looking forward to this very night—Saturday. The one night a week she can afford to venture out to Tempest. It was her guilty pleasure, indulging in the obscenity and carnality. She loved it; she lived for it.
But tonight felt different.
She quickly slammed the door to the cab shut and waved a thanks to the driver before heading in. Immediately, the door was held open for her and she smiled at the man, giving him a peck on the cheek as she brushed past him. Her heels clicked atop the marble as she sauntered over to the elevators, ever step radiating sovereignty—as if each touch of her toe to marble meant she was that much closer to becoming royalty. She knew it was a far off dream, but still her heart yearned and ached for such notoriety. She already had the following of a queen; people fell at her feet, worshiping the very ground she walked on. But something was still missing—a crown.
She rode up alone, but she liked it that way. Entering a party with a man immediately eliminated any and all opportunity, and that was the last thing she wanted. The silence, however, was deafening—something she detested—and by the time the elevator dinged and the doors opened, she was relieved. Noise traveled down the hall and bounced off the walls behind her, enveloping her in a warm embrace, beckoning her.
And she obliged.
Anticipation coursed through her veins as she headed toward the entrance of the Tempest but her brows knitted immediately at the people gathered in a line along the wall. Her face fell, her lips forming into a subtle pout as she stepped behind a brunette and proceeded to wait impatiently. Minutes passed and she inched forward with the line, growing angrier by the second.
A queen never has to wait, she thought, letting out a frustrated sigh and tightening the maroon pashmina draped across her shoulders. Her attention was so fixated on the clipboard holding, large, bald man in a black suit at the front of the line that she nearly missed the opportunity of a lifetime. She caught him though, thankfully, out of the corner of her eye.
Dressed in Armani from head to toe, he swaggered past her—and everyone else—in line, heading straight for the bouncer, who greeted him with a smile. He shook the man’s hand as his friends brushed past him. Lucrezia was transfixed. Such confidence. Such power. A few kind words to the man in front, and he was granted all access. No wait. No line. Amazing, she mused.
And that’s when he turned to face her.
Their eyes locked immediately and Lucrezia batted her lashes instinctively. Invite me in, she beckoned. She shrugged her shawl slightly, letting it slip naturally down her shoulders, revealing the spaghetti straps of her gold Dolce & Gabbana dress. A chill ran up her back and she shivered lightly, goosebumps covering her skin as the shawl fell farther down her arms, hooking in the crook of her elbows. As if in tandem, he took a few steps toward her as she rolled her right shoulder back slowly, reeling him in. Methodically, as if checking steps off of a list, she broke their eye contact, turning her head away and tucking a few strands of hair behind her ear.
“I must say,” he started, approaching her, and with no discretion he continued on, “you are the most beautiful thing I have ever laid eyes on.”
She blushed, letting out her perfected adorable giggle and shook her head ever-so-lightly. He didn’t wait for a response, and instead proceeded to lean in, his lips hovering just inches from her ear.
“You must let me buy you a drink,” he whispered, reaching around and placing his hand on the small of her back. Once again, he gave her no time to object — not that she would — and lead her out of line. Breezing past everyone, she reveled in the envious side glances and resentful snickers. Everyone wanted to either be her or kill her. It was the kind of attention she’d wished for all her life and the power gave her a bigger rush than she’d ever had.
She wanted more.
Minutes passed and they reached the bar. He pulled out her seat and even held out his hand to assist her in sitting. He was such a gentleman—easy on the eyes and strong in the jaw. Lucrezia was used to such treatment, of course. Men of all shapes, sizes, and backgrounds fell at her feet in all corners of the world, but what she really wanted was to bring men to their knees. She wanted them to bow.
“Mikael Falco,” he strained to make himself heard above the overly rambunctious Saturday crowd, but she nodded and smiled. Mikael, she repeated it again in her head slowly, taking it in—trying it on for size. She wasn’t sure if she liked it…yet.
“Lucrezia.”
“What would you like?” He asked, raising his eyebrows.
“Everything,” she purred, the corners of her mouth pulling her lips into lascivious smile.
He let out a chuckle, naivety clearly evident in his eyes, and hollered down at the bartender. She watched him carefully; he was meticulous in everything he did. The way he walked, talked, even smiled. It was calculated—a show. For her benefit? Perhaps. Indicative of his future ability to follow orders? Absolutely. Lucrezia wasn’t one to express her feelings, let alone speak them aloud, but by some miracle she was absolutely smitten. This man could take her places. She was sure if it.

HEADCANONS:
ASTROLOGY: Born January 13th, 1990, Lucrezia is a capricorn. — Element: Earth, practical while valuing material things. — Ruler: Saturn, well-established boundaries and icy exteriors. — Colors: Brown, black
STRENGTHS: Responsible, confident, strategic, charismatic, disciplined, passionate, practical, independent, decisive, determined.
WEAKNESSES: Arrogant, cruel, stubborn, judgemental, distant, controlling, impatient, condescending, aggressive, cold, overly critical.
MBTI: INTJ, the Architect - a very strategic thinker and always has a plan, believes wholeheartedly that with intelligence and perseverance anything is possible, radiates self-confidence as well as irresistibility, a natural born leader.
ALIGNMENT: Chaotic Evil, the destroyer - greedy to a fault, loves to watch destruction just for the hell of it, quite hot-tempered and vicious, has a tendency to lean toward violence, often labeled as demonic which she embraces with a smirk.
GENDER/SEXUALITY: Cis-female, using she/her pronouns. Lucrezia is bisexual, having shown great attraction to any gender since she was around 14. She has no preference and rather enjoys heated encounters with especially interesting people. She has excellent taste, of course — only the best of the best — but she never turns down a good time despite the diamond that rests on her left hand.
STYLE & HABITS: She smokes unapologetically — any place, any time — but this habit increases exponentially when she’s intoxicated. And peaking of, Lucrezia drinks heavily to keep herself sane. She prefers whiskey to scotch and red to white wine, not caring for the sickly sweet taste and preferring an oaky coating of her viper’s tongue instead. She doesn’t care for mind altering substances; that would require her to enjoy letting go of control, and that’s something she’s nearly incapable of doing. However, Lucrezia will indulge in anything at least once, be it a new drug from Theodora, a new liqueur at the Tempest, or a new pretty face that catches her eye. Because of this, she rarely wakes up alone; always found in bed at her regular room at the Emelia with whomever she’d sank her teeth into the night before sprawled across the hotel’s luxury king-size bed. She’s often donned in the best outfits from the classiest of shops within Verona, loving vintage designer the most above all else. She prefers stark tones, wearing mostly blacks and whites with a few colorful accents, mostly red, but if there’s no top-five label on the item, she won’t wear it. And when in doubt, a pair of black pumps goes with most everything.
CAPULETS: Her goal has always been to climb to the top, and for a while now, that’s exactly what she’s done. She’s surpassed Mikael, even and was rewarded with one of the most coveted positions: emissary. She is the eyes and ears for Cosimo, her and his other little favorites, each with their own skill and proficiency. But greed is a funny thing and a deadly sin for a reason. If she were to use this opportunity to seize any sort of power, she’d have to be quick. She’d have to undoubtedly trust people to come to her aid. She’d have to tie up loose ends that call themselves her beloved. The more she thinks about it, the more strings emerge into her purview that tie her to the Capulets. But that doesn’t mean they cannot be severed for the right price. Loyalty, it’s supposed to mean something, isn’t it? Especially with a bloodied C pinned to her chest for all of Verona to see. It draws a line in the sand wherever she walks, that sweeping letter. Stand back, it says. Obey, is always what follows. And that’s a sentiment Lucrezia can get behind. For now, she’ll remain loyal. She’ll do Cosimo’s bidding and she’ll listen as Vivienne drones on in his name, but watching and waiting in the wings Lucrezia will be. It’s an easy thing to fake, loyalty. Especially for her, just ask her husband.

Hello Addie and welcome to New Orleans, the city of The Damned. Thank you so much for applying, you have been successful for the role of Hayley Labonair. Welcome to the family, but for now it’s time to get down to business…
Head on over to the New Member Checklist, careful not to go down any dark alleys, it’s not safe here.
OUT OF CHARACTER:
Name: Addie
Pronouns: Anything of the feminine variety (she/her, etc)
Age: 21
Timezone/Country: EST
Triggers: N/A
Activity Level: 8 – I’m around nearly every day for at least one round of replies. However, I do have things like work and school that might mean I cannot be on every single day. However, I do normally have a pretty quick turn around and am always lurking on discord for plotting.
How Did You Hear About Us: I heard through a friend! The plot and intricate weaving of the shows are what made me decide to throw my hat into the ring. I have a special place in my heart for these three shows, and I’ve never quite seen them woven together in such a manner. I think it offers an opportunity to find grounds in canon but also gives the opportunity for interpretation and divergence, which I love.
Anything Else?: Excited to see how this roleplay unfolds!
DESIRED CHARACTER:
Desired Character: Hayley Labonair, queen of the wolves and my heart.
Why This Character?: In response to this specific rp, I want to play Hayley because I think her character has a lot of room to grow. In the actual show(s), she had connections that helped her grow and realize who she was. Here, she’s been thrown quite literally to the wolves, and she’s got no earthly clue what she’s doing. She has no one looking out for her, aside from Derek. I want to go through all the character building that needs to be done to make her into an alpha that’s worthy of leading the pack on her own accord. I want to expand her ability to let others in as her tumultuous life has left her rather incapable of developing and committing to relationships of any type. Hayley needs to learn that people aren’t always the enemy, and that no matter how it’s been in the past, she’s not invincible and immune to failure. I think it’ll be rewarding to help with the transition from a loner into an alpha that isn’t in power because of her namesake, but because she’s capable and able to lead the pack to a better tomorrow. In general, Hayley has always been my favorite muse to write. If you will, she’s likeable to a first language for me. I learned to play her through multiple scenarios until doing so was as natural as speaking. I feel that I have a grasp on who she is and her mannerisms because I’ve spent so long working at it. I’ve always loved her as a character, and I don’t doubt that I’ll ever stop having a soft spot in my heart for her.
Any FC Changes? No, Phoebe is an utter goddess.
Ships/Anti-ships: I’ve played out Hayley with a variety of significant others (Jackson, Elijah, Klaus, Tyler, and Derek to be exact.) Though, aside from an attraction to males, I have no firm headcanons when it comes to ships. I find that I ship based on chemistry that occurs in the writing rather than theory originating from the shows or elsewhere. I need to write against the other character and examine how my muse reacts to them before committing to a ship fully.
Headcanons: 1. Hayley’s not done digging for information on her parents. While she’s procured more information than she ever has, the wolf wants more. Hayley wants to know who they were, how they met, and just the little intricacies of their lives. Maybe it’s for her own closure or maybe just curiosity, but Hayley’s created so many scenarios of who they were and what paths had brought them to each other in her head. She wants to know everything she can because it’s the closest she’ll ever get to having them in her life. Hayley keeps this desire to herself. She knows that it isn’t outlandish to think that someone would understand why she needs this closure, but Hayley never has been good at extending her trust to anyone other than herself. 2. Hayley’s fairly handy with construction and carpentry. It’s an odd talent she truly has no use for, but she’s always been good at repairs and woodwork. When she’s stressed or angered, there’s a good chance she’ll end up doing some DIY remodeling on her cabin. Her cabin was also the first place she really utilized her abilities. The cabin already existed, but when Hayley came to the Bayou, it was uninhabitable. Weeks of work went into the refurbishing, but Hayley has successfully created a quaint and likeable home for herself. Overall, it could be said that Hayley reverts to this habit of carpentry because she needs control. Her life has been unpredictable and left her with a complex. Carpentry is solely in her hands. Every move is her choice, every mistake is her own, and most importantly, every outcome is of her choosing. 3. Hayley is claustrophobic. Hayley can’t quite place where this fear arose from. Her realization of it came after her first turn as a wolf. In preparing for her second moon, Hayley found an abandoned cellar and tried to lock herself inside to prevent anyone else from getting hurt. However, the dark, cramped space triggered more than just her curse that night. Hayley had a panic attack and did a fair amount of damage to her hands trying to get out of the cellar she’d put herself in. Ever since, she’s been extremely wary of any place that is either cramped or doesn’t have a clear exit. This fear likely arises partly from her wolf side. Freedom and the ability to roam are in her blood, and reasonably, that ability being taken away from her would cause agitation. On the other hand, it could be attributed to Hayley’s commitment to survival. She’s spent so long fending for herself that being trapped or unable to save herself sets off a fair amount of alarm bells in her head.
Please Provide At Least One: I’m submitting this on my mock blog! The blog contains what I would like to call a character study. I’ve created a playlist and an aesthetic for Hayley here. I’ve also included a few reblogs that I feel summarize my take on who she is as a character and expand on her traits and personality. All of the things mentioned above can be viewed on the blog itself or can be found in the about link! - Moodboard/Aesthetic - Playlist - Mock Blog
CHARACTER QUESTIONNAIRE:
How Does Your Character Feel About The Peace Treaty?: Hayley accepts the peace treaty, but her own predispositions make her extremely wary of it. To her, it’s the kind of thing that sounds great in theory but turns to shit when put into practice. Hayley knows that peace is a fickle beast, and as soon as someone feels threatened, it’ll go right out the window. So, while she works to uphold the treaty as a member for the faction, you can bet your ass she has a contingency plan lined up. Hayley doesn’t want to fight, but she’ll be damned if she or her pack suffer because she was too confident in a piece of parchment.
Slice of Life:Hayley spends most of her time in the Bayou. She has a decent sized cabin to call her own, but the girl prefers to be outdoors, even if it is just on the porch. Hayley’s not the type to sleep in, and as a result, she’s normally up early in the day. Hayley goes for a morning run and comes home an hour or so later to shower. After that, she’ll grab breakfast and eat it out on the porch and watch as the rest of the world comes to life. Later, she’ll walk around their community and chat with a few other wolves and see what’s going on for the day. If there’s nothing that needs her attention, Hayley will venture into the Quarter to see what she can see. Whether it’s hanging out at Rousseau’s or down where the witch community congregates, the wolf likes observing. It’s not quite surveillance, but it helps to stay in the know—especially because news doesn’t exactly spread to the Bayou at god-speed. When she’s satisfied with that, she may seek out Derek and ask him to help her train. It also her hope that if she’s with him when dinner time circles around, he’ll cook a portion up for her as well. Seeing as her ability to cook stretches to about boiling water, if she doesn’t have dinner with Derek, she’ll likely pick up something to eat. Her night after her meal typically winds down with a couple of beers and a fire. Hayley doesn’t mind if this time is spent alone or with others, but it gives her a chance to unwind and settle her thoughts before she heads off to sleep.
What is Your Character’s Greatest Fear? How Does This Affect Your Character?: Hayley’s biggest fear is commitment. This isn’t specific to any singular area of her life. The wolf has issues sticking to any one home, friendship, or relationship. This fear stems from her childhood. Being bounced around a system that could care less about her shaped her into a person who learned to anticipate and expect change. Hayley is incapable of trusting that anything good with last forever and will often self-destruct whatever it is before it gets the chance to hurt her. In her mind, settling down is pointless because it will either be taken away from her or scar her even more.

Please describe any important relationships to your character and how they have shaped their life [people in their past/ex’s/parents/friendships/etc. This is a good place to put head cannons/plot lines with other characters]:

Michael Trevino; The ex-boyfriend. It was not easy for Candice to move on after their relationship ended but with time, she is over him now. However, (and as Candice always says) he will always have a big part of her life and even that their relationship is over and there are no feeling towards him anymore, she will always care about him.
Nina Dobrev; The best friend. The first person Candice will run to when she needs someone to talk to or go crazy with. They have been friends for years and no matter what happens nothing breaks their friendship.
Julianne Hough; Common friend of hers and Nina’s. They are close and Jules is always someone Candice calls when she wants to have a good time
If you could go back and change one thing in your life, what would it be? She would probably go back and change the fact that when she was younger, Candice cared too much about what other people would say or think about her. Because of that, she lost a good few opportunities in her life.

👑 A Little More About Emma 📖 Task O N E 🐾
[BASICS]
Full name: Emma Rose Roberts
Preferred name or nickname: Emma, Ems, Mommy (only from Dave Franco).
Age: 26
Date of birth: February 10th
Occupation: Editor-in-Chief
Relationship status: Engaged to Dave Franco
Sexuality: Straight
Preferred Pronouns: she/her
Spoken Languages: English & French
Family: Emma's parents (Kelly Cunningham and Eric Roberts) separated when she was still a baby. She has a half-sister, Grace.
[PERSONALITY]
What sets you apart from others? Her personality. Emma likes to let people see her as the typical mean girl who would put you down with every chance she has. She does not trust people easily and it’s very rare for her to open up to someone. The only person who gets to see the real her is her fiance. There are (rare) situations that she might have a normal conversation with someone but that does not mean she sees them as friends.
Three Positive Attributes about yourself? Emma does not let her positive traits come out often, she is trying her best to hide them as good as she can but deeply, she is a hopeless romantic, a girl who actually cares about others (as hard as it seems to believe it) and also, loyal. (especially to her fiance).
Three Negative Attributes about yourself? She can be kind of mean and very jealous - even if she doesn’t want to, it’s something she can’t control. She is also very insecure as well but she never shows it.
How would your friends describe you? They would describe her as someone who might seem quiet and a loner at moments, she actually has her crazy times. The closer friends would describe her as a sweet girl but those who don’t know her that well? Let’s not get there.
Biggest fear? Not having Dave in her life. He is very important to her and loves him more than anything and anyone. Emma always puts him first. If she ever loses him, it would be a disaster for her.
Raindrops on roses and whiskers on kittens… what are a few of your favorite things? She loves to spend time with her fiance, cherish every moment she has with him and make him have a good time, seen his smile when they are together is probably her favorite thing but she also loves cats (especially her baby Lori), yoga, shopping, reading and one of her favorite thing to do is collecting purses.
What’s your relationship to drugs and alcohol? While she was still in a relationship with her ex-boyfriend, Emma was doing drugs often. She was not a drinker but she wouldn’t say no if she had the chance to drink. After the relationship ended, she tried her hardest to cut everything and she made it. Except smoking, it’s the only thing she plans to not quit.
What is your characters ringtone? Closer by The Chainsmokers ft. Halsey
Post a photo of your character’s phone background here:
[LIFE IN STONECASTLE]
Living Situation [House/Loft/Apartment/Dorm/Etc]? House
Do you have any roommates? Yes, her fiance, Dave Franco.
Do you have any pets? Yes, she has one cat Lori and Dave has two cats too; Harry and Arturo
Highest level of education? Bachelor's degree in journalism
Do you have any kids? No
Where does your character hang out in their free time? Emma is kind of a loner. She likes to hang out in her house, but there are moments that she likes to have a walk in the park and be at the library. In very rare cases you might also find her at Shay's Smoothies trying to be a little more social than she usually is.
[HISTORY]
Were you born in Stonecastle? No.
If not, please tell us where you were born and when/why you moved to Stonecastle? Emma was born in New York but when her parents separated she and her mother moved in Stonecastle and she hasn’t move out since then.
What is your proudest moment? Her proudest moment is when after what happened in her life, after all the struggles she has been through - Emma took her life back to her hands and became stronger than she has ever been before.
What is your biggest regret? Her life has probably been full of regrets and moments she wants to delete from her memory. In the past, she had made mistakes, lots of them, that now she regrets more than anything in the world. If she had to choose only one of them, it would probably be when she said ‘I do’ in her first engagement proposal. That was the beginning of the end (as she likes to say herself.)
What led you to your current job(s)? It’s not an interesting or fancy story but Emma decided to be an editor-in-chief because of her aunt. She always admired her and wanted to follow her steps.
Please describe any important relationships to your character and how they have shaped their life [people in their past/ex’s/parents/friendships/etc. This is a good place to put head cannons/plot lines with other characters]: Emma does not really have many friendships. It’s hard for her to let people come in her life and as much as she tries to change it, it turns out impossible to her sometimes. However her relationship with her parents are normal, they have the typical relationship between parents and daughter. Here in Stonecastle, the only person who she possibly can count as a friend is probably Selena Gomez. To Emma, it seems like Selena was the only person who didn’t give up on her and made an effort to try and come closer. Emma found herself opening up a little to the girl and she might not know everything about her, she is a good friend of hers. She knows that Selena is a person she can count on.
Dave Franco; He is the person who changed her completely and with the best way possible. After struggling with her past, Emma would never imagine that someone would come in her life and want to be with her. Dave is the only person who has seen the true self of Emma, someone very different - a girl who is actually very sweet and kind. He has always been there for her, to support, help and love her when nobody else was and Emma thinks that if he wasn’t there, things would have probably turned very bad for her. Because of him, Emma is trying to be a better person. He is the most important person in her life, someone she will always love and care about no matter what happens.
If you could go back and change one thing in your life, what would it be? So many things. The list is bigger than she likes to admit. If she could go back, she would delete years of her life not just one thing. The number one thing in her list to change in her life is when she started the drug use with her ex-boyfriend/fiance. Also (as mentioned earlier) when she said yes to her first engagement proposal. Or maybe meeting him in the first place. All the years she wasted on him.

1. Full name:
Adam Paul Scott
2. Preferred name or nickname:
Adam
3. Age:
43
4. Date of birth:
April 3rd, 1973
5. Occupation:
Science and History Teacher at Stonecastle High School
6. Relationship status:
Single/Widowed
7. Sexuality:
Straight
8. Preferred Pronouns:
Him/He/His
9. Spoken Languages:
English and Conversational Italian
10. Family:
Father is Douglass Scott. Mother is Anne Scott (née Quartara). Father to Jacob Scott.
[PERSONALITY]
1. What sets you apart from others?
Adam is what you would consider a nerd. He is extremely intelligent and truly enjoys always learning more, particularly in the areas of science and history. He’s also a pretty big social rights activist, especially when it comes to women’s rights. He can never truly understand what women go through, but he’s there to help them fight. Despite these facts, you wouldn’t know them about Adam on the surface. He has a very laxidasical/joking attitude which has made him more like a friend than a teacher.
2. Three Positive Attributes about yourself?
[1] Adam is very family-oriented. He would do anything for his family, especially for his son. When his wife died during child birth, Adam made it his goal to give Jacob the best life that he could and to protect him no matter what. [2] Adam is big on Activism. He is not afraid to speak up and refuses to be silenced on the things. He wants to have a hand in paving a better world for his son. [3] Adam is very charismatic. He may not have a traditional way of teaching his students, but he does it in a way where they learn without feeling like they’re learning something boring.
3. Three Negative Attributes about yourself?
[1] Having a unique and dry sense of humor can often me taken offensively to people who do not realize that he is joking or being facetious. [2] Deriving from that, Adam lacks a filter. He says things at times that he probably shouldn’t. Including saying things in front of his students that might be considered inappropriate for a teacher (i.e. cursing). [3] At times he can be judgmental and has little patience for people who he considers to be naive. It sparks his love of debate, but at the same time, sometimes his favorite commentary is an eyeroll and knowing scoff.
4. How would your friends describe you?
Cheeky little shit with a lot of puns. A lovable dickhead.
5. Biggest fear?
That something bad or tragic will happen to his son. Outliving his son.
6. Raindrops on roses and whiskers on kittens… what are a few of your favorite things?
Puns, science, equal rights activism, history, Hamilton, cooking, debates, music.
7. What’s your relationship to drugs and alcohol?
Adam doesn’t drink very often, but in social situations when his kid isn’t around, he will have a glass of wine or a beer. He smoked weed socially in high school and college, but has not since.
8. What is your characters ringtone?
You’ll Be Back - Hamilton
9. Post a photo of your character’s phone background here:
[LIFE IN STONECASTLE]
1. Living Situation [House/Loft/Apartment/Dorm/Etc]?
Small two bedroom house.
2. Do you have any roommates?
Just his son.
3. Do you have any pets?
Not at this time.
4. Highest level of education?
University degree in Liberal Studies with a concentrate on History and Science.
5. Do you have any kids?
Yes, one ten year old son named Jacob.
6. Where does your character hang out in their free time?
If Adam isn’t at work in the teachers lounge, he can usually be found at home. About once or twice a week, he goes to Stonecastle diner to drink coffee and grade papers. Every two weeks, Adam will take Jacob to Anna’s bakery to pick out a sweet treat.
[HISTORY]
1. Were you born in Stonecastle?
No.
2. If not, please tell us where you were born and when/why you moved to Stonecastle?
Adam was born in Santa Cruz, California. He grew up there for awhile and when he was 18 he moved to Stonecastle to attend University. He later met his first wife there and has been in Stonecaslte since.
3. What is your proudest moment?
The birth of his son Jacob. It was on of the saddest moments of his life (losing his wife), but it gave him the best thing of his life-- his son. Jacob is his whole world.
4. What is your biggest regret?
Buying Jacob that drum set.
5. What led you to your current job(s)?
Adam has always been good at science, math, and history. It took him a bit to figure out what he wanted to do with it. In college, he decided that he might like teaching, so he chose Liberal Studies with a focus on science and history. After subbing for awhile, there was an opening at Stonecastle High for Science and later he was asked to teach History as well after a shortage of teachers.
6. Please describe any important relationships to your character and how they have shaped their life [people in their past/ex’s/parents/friendships/etc. This is a good place to put head cannons/plot lines with other characters]:
Amy Poehler: Adam and Amy have been working at the high school together for a long time now and became fast friends. Amy seems to understand his humor and the two of them can go back and forth for quite some time without getting offended or taking it too seriously. They both take activism very seriously, so they’re often found working together on that.
Brie Larson: Brie is one of his good friends and his co-worker. Adam has been harboring a crush on the younger woman for quite some time now. Jacob gets on with her quite a lot and is often found hanging out in her classroom when he has to come to the high school. Not only is she incredibly gorgeous, but she’s smart, funny, and courageous. Adam figures that everyone has a crush on her, staff, student, and parents a-like, so he is afraid to make any sort of move on her. Adam often brings her coffee in the morning as his subtle form of flirting.
Stephen Amell: He hasn’t known Stephen very long and they just met by circumstance, but the two of decided to start a single dad’s club as they both know the struggles of it.
7. If you could go back and change one thing in your life, what would it be?
Adam always worried that there had to be something else he could have done to save his wife. Either once she was in labor or before. There had to be something that he could do to save her. There had to be something small he missed along the way.

Congratulations, SIDNEY! You’ve been accepted for the role of LADY MACBETH. Sidney, I had been holding my breath for the right Lady Macbeth application to come along. Your understanding of her was what really sealed the deal. You understand her goals and I love the ways that you’ve laid out her future development. Your voice for her was a perfect symphony and your portrayal of her mannerisms were icing on the cake. I’m so happy to have Lady Mac back in our ranks and I cannot wait to see how things play out! Please read over the checklist and send in your blog within twenty-four hours.
WELCOME TO THE MOB.
Out of Character: Alias | Sidney.
Age | Twenty.
Preferred Pronouns | She/her.
Activity level | I’m busiest earlier in the days when I’m in classes, but I usually get on for a couple hours a day or every other day. When I’m on break, like now, I’m on much longer (all day, sadly) usually. Normal activity would probably be a 7-8/10.
Time zone | Central.
In Character: Character | Lady Macbeth, Lucrecia Falco / Lucia. I love Eiza, but I did see you answered an ask about Lesley Ann Brandt, so if changing her age to 30-32 and using Lesley is possible, I’d love that. If not, that’s totally fine, though!
What drew you to this character? At first, I was really drawn to Celia, but I don’t think I understood her enough to do her justice, so I re-read Lady Macbeth after her re-opening and just immediately fell in love. She’s so unapologetic. She is who she is and ever since birth, she has never wavered.
What is a future plot idea you have in mind for the character? | Where do you see this character developing, and what kind of actions would you have them take to get there? 3 future plot ideas would be preferable. Lucrecia derives true pleasure from making people squirm. Whether it be in pain or pleasure, it doesn’t matter, as long as they elicit a response. What it all boils down to is that reaction. Ranging from igniting pure, unadulterated rage from an enemy or sparking an animalistic, carnal desire in a lover’s eyes, all that matters is what they give her. With the smirk of her ruby-coated lips coupled with the sultry sway of her hips or the hard slap of her leather encased hand followed by the sharp heel of her boot, people will kneel. They will obey.
ONE: “I don’t want to be a queen; I want to be the Queen.” All her life everyone around her has told her exactly who she was supposed to be: delicate, tender, angelic. Characteristics that, if you truly knew Lucrecia—Lucia only a trusted few—they wouldn’t describe the raven-haired, irresistible dame by a long shot. While she could mimic these attributes, they did not come naturally. And it was those completely opposite traits which define Lucrecia that Mikael Falco was first drawn to. Though she may still not be sure whether she truly love(s)d Mikael, she keeps him around. His attractiveness comes from the power the Falco name now elicits—all due to Lucia and her hunger for notoriety. Can’t find a man who will make you a queen? Then make one. And so she did. From the moment she saw him, she saw opportunity. But that only got her so far, unfortunately. At the moment, Mikael is just as useless as his rank. Not a single soul fears the name Mikael Falco—no—and with fear comes respect. Lucia has worked hard to change this, shaping and molding Mikael into a man who can command a faithful following, burrowing his insecurities behind a false confidence. Her affection can do wondrous things—turn simple people into leaders, mere men into gods. She turned Mikael into the perfect soldier for the Capulets and they should adore her for it. They should want to be her. But is adoration enough? No—never. Still very low in the ranks of the Capulet’s, she has her sights on something better: a crown. One clad with the finest jewels in all of Verona, dripping in the blood of whomever dares to step in her path. The only things Lucia pledges full loyalty to are herself and opportunity. She’ll need to decide quickly whether or not Mikael could be useful in helping her climb the ranks or if she would benefit from finally putting the poor dog to sleep. – I’d love to explore her specific manipulations of Mikael and his rank. He pushed her (and his own) feet through the door, but he is still only just a soldier and she is still only just an emissary. If he has nothing more to offer, then she would not even blink at the thought of killing him, or even carefully orchestrating such a tragedy. People always pity and underestimate a poor and young widow.)
TWO: “I may not be royalty, but I can set your kingdom on fire […] Crowns won’t stop me from being a queen.” Where there is death, there is opportunity—at least to Lucia. With the news of Alvise’s demise spreading like the plague, she can’t wait to see how it all unfolds. Undoubtedly, the Capulets will be accused of committing such a horrible act, igniting a war among the feuding families, creating absolute chaos. And there’s nothing Lucrecia loves more than mayhem. If she was a betting girl, she’d put her money on the very side Alvise pledged his allegiance to as the guilty party for the crime of putting an end to his very, very important life. There’s nothing like the hunger for power; Lucrecia is all too familiar with such a craving. Lucia is free to do what she wants as long as the job gets done, but freedom is dangerous when a guard dog is given the opportunity to rip out its owner’s throat if an intruder offers a particularly delectable bone as incentive. She wouldn’t give it a second thought to lunge at the opportunity to betray her “family” for the Montague’s if it means ending up that much closer to the throne. – Like I said, one of the only things she’s loyal to is opportunity. I can see her figuratively splitting herself in two. One side reaching toward Vivianne or Rafaella, going straight to the source and attempting to seduce them—platonically or romantically—by any means necessary. Mikael is, after all, only a soldier and Lucrecia is hungry. Her other half would be seeking any and all opportunities to inch her way into bed with a Montague and work her way up. Defecting would be a betrayal by anyone’s standards except Lucrecia’s.
THREE: “I’ll make you bleed and you’ll say thank you.” Love can bring anyone to their knees—except Lucia. He has every right to be possessive, of course, because Lucia belongs to no one—not even her husband. Assuaging his envious passion is easy, though; all she has to do is smile. – I’d love to explore a new relationship in her life, one where she sets her sights on someone with every intention of completely devouring them, but they surprise her at every turn. Matching her witty remark for witty remark and keeping her on her toes. She’ll be fascinated with someone just as devious and unapologetic as herself, but still would ultimately throw them to the wolves to further her own personal interests. She’s found a great friend in Delilah, but deep down she’s still unsure of whether or not the girl can cut it. If she cannot instill in her the same selfishness that’s gotten Lucia this far in life, she may have to cut ties with her as well. No matter the cost. Lucia will always blow through people’s lives like a tornado leaving obliterated hearts and a burning betrayal in her wake.
In Depth: The following THREE questions must be answered in-character, and in para form (quotations, actions written out if applicable, etc). There is no minimum or maximum limit for your response – simply answer as you would were you playing the character.
What is your favorite place in Verona? “Mmm… The Tempest,” she purrs, the words pouring from her mouth like molasses, beckoning the interviewer to lean in closer as if she’s going to reveal a secret meant just for their ears.
“Music echoing off the walls and swirling with the soft chatter of Verona’s most notorious gluttons—it’s wonderful.” Her eyes fall shut for a moment as she settles in and leans back on the sofa, stretching her arms out on either side of the pillows behind her.
“There’s something about the smell of depravity in there that I love. Lust just hangs in the air like a thick fog,” she chuckles wryly, but her eyes shimmer, igniting with a mischievous wanton eagerness.
“You never know what’s going to happen,” she leans forward once more, crossing her leather-clad legs and winking at the interviewer.
What does your typical day look like? “It’s rare that I wake up alone,” she mutters quietly, twirling a curled strand of her hair around her index finger—a tic she’s picked up along the years, usually stemming from boredom.
"I wake, I dress, I stumble—depending on how drunk I still am—back to my room and sleep or change and then leave the Emelia.“ She rolls her eyes carelessly, tossing her hair over her shoulder and leaning forward to take a sip of the tea the interviewer offered her when she sat down.
"Depending on the day, I either head to the Cathedral for work or I wander the streets, looking for entertainment. I can’t stand days sitting around doing nothing. I need to be moving,” she emphasizes her words with her hands dramatically, “I need to live, but you know, you can always find me at Tempest come dusk.”
What are your thoughts on the war between the Capulets and the Montagues? “War,” she deadpans, brushing away a few stray strands of jet-black hair from her face. “It’s a waste of time, if you want me to be honest.” She doesn’t wait for them to ask her to expand. If Lucrecia is known for anything, it’s for speaking her mind whether it’s wanted or not.
“You’ve got one side, the Capulets, who by anyone’s definition—especially the Capulets themselves—are do-gooders. Saints, if you will. They’ve worked so hard to re-brand and re-build their name so it not only invokes respect, but generosity as well,” leaning forward, Lucrecia reaches for her silver cigarette case and lifts it from the coffee table in front of her. In one swift motion, she pulls one out and lights it and takes a long first drag.
But then you’ve got the other side—the Sinners. Debauchery courses through their veins. I mean, it has to if you’re going to be in their line of work, doesn’t it?”
She takes another long drag, narrowing her eyes at the interviewer across from her. Their pen shakes ever-so-slightly in their hand—tremors from being in the presence of someone so domineering, if Lucrecia had to guess. The assumption brings a devilish grin to her wine-stained lips.
“But Saints always rely on Sinners to do their dirty work, don’t they? The promise of becoming a Saint is all a hopeful Sinner needs to surrender their free will and execute orders deemed too evil for a Saint. But in my opinion…” she lingers, taking one last drag from her cigarette, before leaning in again. The interviewer leans forward in tandem, hanging on her every word.
“I love guns just as much as I love drugs,” she whispers, tossing her cigarette into the cup of tea atop the table, pushing herself to her feet and walking out.
In-Character Para Sample: Ten years ago. A doe-eyed, fresh-faced, twenty-two-year-old Lucrecia stepped out of the cab into the cool summer air.
A queen never as to wait, she thought, letting out a frustrated sigh and tightening the maroon pashmina draped across her shoulders. Her attention was so fixated on the clip-board holding, large, bald man in a black suit at the front of the line that she nearly missed the opportunity of a lifetime. She caught him though, thankfully, out of the corner of her eye.
Dressed in Armani from head to toe, he swaggered past her—and everyone else—in line, heading straight for the bouncer, who greeted him with a smile. He shook the man’s hand as his friends brushed past him. Lucrecia was transfixed. Such confidence. Such power. A few kind words to the man in front, and he was granted all access. No wait. No line. Amazing, she mused.
And that’s when he turned to face her.
Their eyes locked immediately and Lucrecia batted her lashes instinctively.
Once again, he gave her no time to object—not that she would—and lead her out of line. Breezing past everyone, she reveled in the envious side glances and resentful snickers. Everyone wanted to either be her or kill her. It was the kind of attention she’d wished for all her life and the power gave her a bigger rush than she’d ever gotten.
She wanted more.
Moments later they reached the bar. He pulled out her seat and even held out his hand to assist her in sitting. He was such a gentleman—easy on the eyes and strong in the jaw. Lucrecia was used to such treatment, of course. Men of all shapes, sizes and backgrounds fell at her feet in all corners of the world, but what she really wanted was to bring men to their knees. She wanted them to bow to her.
“Mikael Falco,” he strained to make himself heard above the overly rambunctious Saturday crowd, but she nodded and smiled. Mikael, she repeated it again in her head slowly, taking it in—trying it on for size. She wasn’t sure if she liked it…yet.
“Lucrecia.”
Absolutely. Lucrecia wasn’t one to express her feelings, let alone speak them aloud, but by some miracle she was absolutely smitten. This man could take her places. She was sure if it.

4 Must-Have Traits in Every Person You Hire
Most leaders I’ve met want to build a high-performance organization. Instinctively, they know that this requires great people. But few of them have ever taken the time to define exactly what they are looking for when it comes to the ideal candidate.
Good leaders begin the recruiting process with a written job description. This generally includes the required educational experience and technical skills. But great leaders do more than this. They take a step back and look at the baseline qualities of the candidate.
They ask questions like—
What kind of employees are we trying to attract?
What kind of people will get the results we want and others expect?
What kind of people do we want to surround ourselves with?
What kind of people will contribute to the culture we are trying to build?
Warm bodies are obviously not enough. Better-than-average won’t get you there either. Even “really good people” are insufficient. You need higher standards if you are going to achieve your mission.
As I have thought about this, I have reduced these high standards to a sort of formula: H3S.
I want to fill my company with people who are humble, honest, hungry, and smart. The “h” in the word “high” represents the first three attributes. The “s” in the word “standards” represents the last attribute. All are equally important, but let me expound on each of them separately.
For simplicity sake, I’m going to use the masculine pronoun below, but it should be understood that the ideal candidate may, of course, be either a man or a woman. Gender is irrelevant.
Humble
Humble people have a good sense of himself. They don’t think more highly of themselves than they should (pride), nor lower than they ought (poor self-esteem). They are sober-minded, having a realistic grip on their strengths and weaknesses.
They do not exhibit self-ambition. They might be ambitious for the cause, company, or team, but they’re not ambitious for themselves. They aren’t overly concerned about their title, status, or position relative to others.
Humble people assume the posture of a learner and don’t pretend to know more than they do. It never crosses their mind that they may be the smartest person in the room.
They respect other points of view and asks questions to make sure that they understand an idea before criticizing it. They make other people feel smart and competent.
They are others-centered, no matter who the other person is. They acknowledge “the little people,” those that are easily overlooked by everyone else. They are valued and treated as peers.
Whenever I hire an executive, I always like to take him or her to dinner. I am always interested to see how they treat the host, the waiters, and even the busboys. Will they be curt? Demanding or brusque? Does they treat the people who serve them with dignity? Do they even notice them? Are they appreciative?
I am always leery of people who suck-up to those they want something from and disrespect everyone else. There’s no explaining it away. This is a character flaw. I have no patience for it, and I don’t want someone like that working in my organization.
Humble people are open to correction and not defensive. They are quick to admit mistakes and apologize. They know how to say, “I am sorry. What I did was wrong. Will you please forgive me?” Everyone makes mistakes. The truly humble try to make it right. Usually, they have had plenty of practice.
They are conscious of the contributions others have made to their life, career, and achievement. They are quick to give credit and express sincere gratitude. Conversely, when others compliment them, they offer a simple thank-you, without making a big fuss about it.
Finally, they do not consider certain jobs to be beneath them. They see what needs to be done, pitch in, and are just happy to be part of the team.
Honest
As Dr. Stephen R. Covey points out in The 7 Habits of Highly Successful People:
Honesty is telling the truth—in other words, conforming our words to reality. Integrity is conforming reality to our words—in other words, keeping promises and fulfilling expectations. This requires an integrated character, a oneness, primarily with self but also with life. (195–196)
When I use the term honesty, I am referring to both honesty and integrity.
At the most basic level, honest people not lie, exaggerate, or misrepresent the facts. Spin control is a foreign concept. So is bragging. If anything, they are given to understatement, especially about their own accomplishments.
They do not withhold negative information but give you the good, the bad, and the ugly. They have the courage to face reality head on and make their words conform to it. They would never ask someone else to lie on their behalf or cover for them.
They are also honest in giving others feedback. They are able to be direct without being hurtful. They don’t say anything about those who are absent that they wouldn’t say if they were present. They avoid drama.
Finally, honest people keep their commitments, even when it is difficult, expensive, or inconvenient. If they said they’d do it, they do. You can take it to the bank.
Early in my career, I was able to land the job as a marketing director at one of the larger publishing houses. The only problem was that I didn’t have any experience. None!
So my new boss put me on an informal 90-day probationary period. He said, “Look, I think you will do fine, but let’s agree to a 90-day trial run. If everything goes as planned, I will give you a raise equal to 10 percent of your annual salary. If not, we’ll shake hands and part company as friends.” I enthusiastically agreed, rolled up my sleeves, and got to work.
Knowing that this was an enormous opportunity, I read everything I could on marketing. I worked hard. I got to the office early and left late. I was determined to prove to my boss that he had made the right decision.
At the end of the 90-day period, I was actually looking forward to my review. I knew I had exceeded his expectations. I was confident I would get the raise.
My boss called me into his office. After the usual pleasantries, he said, “Mike, you have done an outstanding job. You have exceeded my expectations in every way. I am very proud of you.”
“But I have one problem,” he continued. “Last week, our parent company instituted a salary and wage freeze. They have refused to consider any exceptions.”
My heart sank. Though I tried to appear professional, I’m sure that my disappointment was written all over my face.
Then he handed me an envelope and said the most amazing thing. “In that envelope is a check for the amount I promised you. It’s not from the company, but from me personally. I have discussed this with my wife, and we are both in agreement. You don’t have a choice about whether or not to accept it. So don’t even think about refusing. I made a commitment to you. You lived up to your end of the bargain—and then some—and I want to live up to mine.”
As a young businessman, that act made an enormous impression on me. Not only did it bond me to my boss—still one of my best friends—for life, it has provided concrete guidance in every tough decision I have ever made.
Hungry
A hungry person is someone with an appetite. Metaphorically speaking, their last meal is already a fading memory. They want to eat, and they want to eat now. All they can think about is food!
In other words, hungry people don’t dwell on past accomplishments. They are never satisfied. They’re always reaching for more—setting higher goals. They are driven to exceed whatever expectations have been imposed upon them. This is just a part of their make-up.
They are intellectually curious. They read constantly—news sources, magazines, and books. Lots of books. They love learning new things and sharing that learning with others.
Hungry people don’t get stuck in a rut. They’re open to new ideas and new ways of solving old problems. That means they’re always looking for the best solution and embrace change if it will take them—or the company—to a new level.
They come to meetings prepared, having completed their homework. In the meeting, they listen actively, asking lots of questions and taking notes. Afterward, they follow up. They complete assignments on time without someone having to prod them. They are relentless when it comes to execution.
In short, hungry people full out, holding nothing back. More than anything, they want to win and are willing to pay the price to do so.
Smart
Smart people usually score high on traditional IQ tests. But not always. You have to be careful. Some people are book-smart but street-stupid. I’d like to have both. But if forced to choose, I’ll take the street-smart candidate.
Smart people are a quick study. They can connect the dots without a lot of help. They have a natural ability to think laterally, that is, across disciplines. They can apply learning from one field or category to another.
They’re comfortable using metaphors and analogies. They know how to make complex subjects simple without confusing themselves and everyone else in the process.
I was a philosophy major. Some of the books I had to read were really difficult. I remember reading, re-reading, and then re-re-reading some particularly tough passages. Then it dawned on me. If this guy is so smart, why can’t he explain this in a way that is easy to follow? I concluded it was a case of “the emperor having no clothes.”
In my experience, confusion often masquerades as complexity. Listening to an explanation, you might be tempted to think that you’re just not smart enough to understand the issue. In reality, the presenter may not understand it well enough to make it simple. I want people working for me who are smart enough to work through the complexity in order to arrive at a simple explanation.
Smart people also ask thoughtful questions. They see connections between topics that others miss. They are aware of nuances. And they have diverse interests, which come in handy when trying to understand new information.
They are also able to focus mentally, for long periods of time if necessary. They don’t give up quickly. They keep pressing until they gain clarity or insight. They are a creative problem solvers.
Finally, smart people have cognitive intelligence. That’s mostly what I have covered here. But that alone is not sufficient. In my opinion, a successful candidate also needs emotional, relational, and even spiritual intelligence to succeed.
Summary
It’s hard to find the buried treasure unless you have a map. It’s difficult to win a scavenger hunt unless you have a list. And it’s impossible to hire the right people unless you know exactly what you are looking for.
In my company, I want to hire people who are H3S: humble, honest, hungry, and smart. If I can do that consistently, I will build a great and enduring organization.
By the way, I have also developed a list of 25 questions to ask candidates. These questions help you discern whether or not he or she is the ideal candidate. You will find them, if you know what to look for.
