Hello, I've recently found out about newruz and was surprised that my family didn't celebrate it or rather that they never talked about it.
(I'm kurmanji kurd from Turkey but was born in Germany. Maybe it isn't commonly celebrated in Turkey?)

#ask#anon#idk about how common celebrations are in that region but do know that many kurdish cities have big celebrations#and also places like istanbul and maybe central anatolian cities too but idk about those#the celebrations i've seen online included things like dancing & jumping over fire#what i find interesting is how people in southern kurdistan celebrate differently#i'm in a discord server with majority bashuris (at least theyre the most active ones) & they said they just gather & go on large picnics
