Kamele für die Ostfront, 2. Weltkrieg.
In fact, camels were used as draft animals in the Caucasus and the Kalmyk steppes, which was probably related to the lack of water there. As early as the 19th century, the Russian army used camel-drawn artillery there. Allegedly, the 4th German Panzer Army had 60 camels in action in the Caucasus in 1942, which as draft animals are said to have corresponded to the performance of a good draft horse and, as pack animals, transported loads of up to 150 kg. 1200x797 El Ejército alemán es saludado por holandeses amistosos a su entrada en Ámsterdam, 1940. La ocupación alemana de Holanda fue bastante laxa hasta mediados de 1944, pasando a ser cruel, sobre todo en el llamado "Hongerwinter".
