I was working on the first one-shot for the We Finish What We Started 'verse, and this idea popped into my head.

And I have friends that enjoy pain, so I wrote this.

While this was inspired by the WFFWS 'verse fic, it is NOT set in it...

Lost one of my brothers today 😪. I met Troy back in 2008 when I had just gotten into choppers & Immediately had a special connection I hadn’t had with many. Probably because of his wise old soul, and having had many life changing experiences beyond my years as a young buck. He always shared the coolest stories with me that I felt he didn’t with others because of the connection we had. I’ve ridden next to him for hours at a time and 1000’s of miles around California. Troy was a special bread for sure, and I’m gonna miss him so much. You never really know how much you cared and respected someone until their no longer here in psychical form. I’ve been looking through old hard drives of photos from our rides & man have we had some of the best times ever! Today has been one of the hardest days for me in a long time, especially being a father now knowing he has his son Hunter, daughter June, and wife Teressa still her. West Orlando native BigBankReed$ joins me on this “email interview” for his upcoming show at Backbooth with Maxo Kream, June 15th. Reeds has been countlessly working in the studio and releasing music letting all his listeners know he’s about to level up. JM: Who is the artist, BigBankReeds? Where did the elaborate name come from?

Reed$: BigBankReed$ is one high as fuck, lit, ahh weirdo from Orlando, they say I look like hood Mickey, I laugh. Just here to turn shit up, put out a lot of positives vibes, smoke a lot of gasss. I used to go by WF Reed$ cause everyone in squad (WFFW) had WF in front of they name, as I started focusing more on my own brand I decided to change my name. My uncle used to rap his name was Big Bank Hank from the Sugar Hill Gang, and to honor my family legacy I decided to take the Big Bank and add it to my name to replace the WF, but if you wana just say Reed$ or BigBank it's cool that shit too much to say sometimes.

JM: Where are you originally from? What do you think of your roots?

Reed$: I was born in Bronx, New York, but I spent most of my life in various locations in Orlando playing a lot sports...wasn't shit else to do as a jit. 

JM: How did music play a role in your life? Were you always destined to be an artist?

Reed$: Like I said early my uncle was doing music so I was always surrounded by music I used to be in marching band, I wanted to be a rapper since like... 5th grade I think so.

JM: When did you know that you wanted to take your music career serious?

Reed$: Like taking this shit for real for real? About 2/3 years ago. When I found out this shit can really happen if you work hard enough. 

JM: What are some key influences? Do you hope to work with them one day?

Reed$: My key influences is my squad I work with them all the time. I'd like to work with anybody who passionate about their craft I feel like can learn something from anyone.

JM: What is the making of a song like for Reeds? Do you sit and writer or just walk in the booth and freestyle?

Reed$: A lot of weed, maybe jumping around lit af. I come in with written shit and I don't be finishing it. so I normally freestyle the end of a verse. 

JM: What does BigBankReeds have planned for the future? In example, music, shows, etc.

Reed$: I got Boof Pack music video dropping real soon, merch coming soon, new song called Poppin’ this week. Too much new shit,  check it out @ bigbankreeds.com
