The more I think about Snezhnaya and Nod-Krai being separate regions the more I like it.
We got a Voynich mention, so Nod-Krai could be closer to Poland (could also incorporate Baltic countries, Polish–Lithuanian Commonwealth was A Thing, for example). Which establishes a "Russia vs. adjacent countries" setting rather nicely.
It solves the problem of depicting Russia in an attractive way and misattributing other cultures as Russian. Hoyo could add all the fun stuff and not offend anyone.
Also music. If they add Baltic regions Nod-Krai should have the best music in game. Čiurlionis references both in music and visuals! Arvo Pärt! Hoyo, please.
Shall I add some Čiurlionis's paintings because why not.

As a Eastern European living in Italy, I agree completely. We do face a lot of discrimination, but it’s not ‘racism’ (people love using that word specifically because it muddles the issue). Also I do feel like they want to use the word racism to denote how serious the hate they receive is, but that’s so so wrong and disrespectful and cheapens the experiences of people of color. They need to put in the effort to raise awareness about their own discrimination without piggybacking. It’s so embarrassing. No harm in using another word jfc. Also absolutely not ‘as bad or worse than’ what people of color face. That’s just delusional and often deliberately malicious. (White) Eastern Europeans can and often are very racist, it’s crazy how I can hear someone complain about their own discrimination and in the same breath make racist remarks! Like, hello?! So yeah. Sorry for this kinda useless message, in conclusion I just agree completely and you are so right.
totally agree, and i want to also emphasise that im not tryna argue that the criteria to being a poc or to being able to claim u experience racism is not being racist to other poc. you can find racism towards specific groups of poc in basically every group... east asians to darker skinned populations (black ppl, south asians, southeast asians, etc), arabs to southeast asians, south asians, and black ppl, iranians to arabs, black ppl to asians & middle easterners, etc etc etc like no racial demographic or ethnic demographic is free of this and i do think that for us to combat racism and white supremacy, we need to also challenge each other and fight racism within our own communities bc we are stronger together.
WITH THAT SAID... yeah i think when the discrimination a group faces can be very clearly tied to other factors, it makes no sense to then turn around and insist that its actually racism that is the root of the discrimination & that therefore white people actually do face racism bc x group of white people sometimes get mistaken for poc (an argument i heard about italians, spaniards, and greek ppl) and then face racial discrimination based on the assumption that theyre actually not european (so .. misdirected racism) or bc y group of white people are looked down on for classist & xenophobic reasons by other white people. racism exists at a systematic, institutional level and involves a "dominant"/"superior" race discriminating against others in various areas of society on the basis of their race, that’s not the experience of eastern or southern europeans

tankies and libs being on the same level of braindead dichotomy thinking with assuming that just because you stand with palestine and oppressed peoples you stand with this other imperialist power. sorry but here in the third world we hate BOTH usa and your beloved china and russia. you're both imperialist powers and actual third world progressives want nothing from you.

Progress on the western Slav goddess.
I only used two strands on the red thread and I think I’m going to have to go back and work one more strand through. She just doesn’t look solid enough.
And I’ll probably backstitch around the black pattern. I already back stitched around the bird on her right shoulder as well as the dots under her crown to test it, and I think it looks better.

its in reference to the fact that eastern European languages are pretty much incomprehensible to American (latin or otherwise)
bc with western European languages that are still a lot of overlap due to the romans, i don't speak a lick of italian but i can get a few words here and there.
but with eastern europe? you could make a cohesive sentence or literally mash your keyboard and i wouldn't know the difference
OH! VLKMSDKLGMSDLKCMSDLGMKL YEAH I GUESS THATS A THING FOR YALL AINT IT
dude but legit listen, aight? as a slovak, i still use latin alphabet, yeah. but personally??? i feel Cheated out of my culture a tad cuz i'd dare to say that the proper slavic alphabet should be cyrilic (like yanno. azbuka. the thing Proper eastern slavs use. slovakia, czechia n poland classify as central EU places!!). i did learn cyrilic in school since we had three mandatory languages (slovak, english and russian/german- i went with russian) and it... idk, feels nice reading it. oh boy, if i pulled out Cyrilic on ya guys JLSDMKLSDMKMKLS now THOSE would be runes, alright, hah! CYrilic is our runes and i'm a sad bitter little gal.
i'm quite confident in that you could understand some of what i'd say in slovak, actually! especially since there's quite a few loanwords from english in the language nowadays. like. "kompletný", you could prolly guess it means "complete". oh but if i took out the cyrilic.........
dear god, but honestly just taking out whatever the living fuck Poland has going on is already some rune bullshit even to me. have you SEEN those nonsense letters, literally NO other slavic branch uses those, i have ABSOLUTELY no idea what the fuck happened to them to be Like That. Poland is built differently and i will respectfully driNK MY PIVO WITH NO DUMBASS WESTERN "W" IN IT THANK YOU VERY MUCH

As someone from an ex-socialist state [Yugoslavia/Serbia] I've been wondering, how come class consciousness is arguably as weak as in western states? The generation that built communism has perished, "boomers" vote for the current neoliberal bloc, while generation X was mostly anti communist, and now anti government. Was 45 years too short of a time to create strong foundations? Were the attacks of capitalism, and the "failures" and collapse of communism just that effective that people gave up?
You have to keep in mind that an important part of the process of the destruction of socialism in Europe was a massive operation by NATO to fund fascists, reactionaries, and to introduce an image of capitalism which revolved around limitless consumption. In many ways, the citizens of the socialist states helped to bring about that destruction because their only image of capitalism had been restricted to what the defensive intelligence efforts of the socialist states and this propaganda work from the capitalists allowed. Only once their entire countries were sold off, their schools and jobs closed, and a greater economic shock to that of the fascist invasion of the USSR was imposed (and a destructive and genocidal war forced on Yugoslavia), did people really see what capitalism is, too late. But the narrative created around this shock was completely spun around by the capitalists who controlled what was left or the socialist education systems and media, and placed the blame of this collapse on socialism. This is how it is Stil taught in capitalist schools, that it was somehow the fault of socialism for the effects of its destruction. That, and a simultaneous diminishment and normalization of the misery that fell on ex-socialist Europe. The slav is naturally poor, prone to prostitution and depressed, you see?
But what little mass consciousness could be built in 45 years (in the scale of societies, this is very little time) was confused from all angles. The new governments also played a role, positioning themselves as the opposition to the west, when all of them originated from the conspiracy that created the very same misery they now so graciously saved their citizens from, as well as leaning very hardly on narratives of the liberation of their nation and culture. Keep in mind that it has now been 33 years since 1991, and 35 since 1989. It is a comparable amount of time to the existence of socialism in most places in Europe.
Iirc, The Triumph of Evil mentions how the socialist peoples of Europe were lied to about capitalism. I haven't read it yet but I think Socialism Betrayed will also have some of the answers you're looking for, same with The Shock Doctrine

I’ve said something along these lines before but I think the typical zionist narrative that “Jews are indigenous to Palestine and Palestinians aren’t because Jews lived there first” falls apart when you start comparing it to the logical conclusions you’d have to draw for some of the European equivalents.
South Slavs have only lived in the Balkans for about 1300 years, definitely a far shorter time than the Greeks were there. Does that mean they should be driven out and the territory handed to Greece? The proposition is absurd on the face of it and then you remember that the kind of people who genuinely want that are Greek fascists. Hmmmm
Magyars have only lived in Hungary for about 1200 years and they outright conquered it, but I think anyone who’s not a Central European white nationalist would also think it’d be ridiculous to kick the Magyars out of Hungary.
This is fundamentally where such an ethnonationalist sentiment leads. It is only through the inertia of imperialism and the backing of western nations that the idea that Palestinians are uniquely not indigenous to the land they’ve lived in for more than a thousand years has taken root

You may be insane, abolishtocreate, but I'm perfectly happy in my pictogram free world! xD I'm sorry but cyrillic just scares the shit out of me for the simple reason that I don't understand it. At the same time I'M HAPPY I DON'T HAVE TO LEARN IT, IT LOOKS HARD YA KNOW!? We can talk about Christian crimes against humanity another time. I still didn't forgive them that I'm not living in slavic faith right now. I have a huge fucking bone to pick with them over year 966.
It's indeed funnily ironic that we don't use this alphabet tho xD
eastern slavs: ш
western slavs: szcszčsczš
