Hello! I saw your work on this and I like it very much! The first two already hooked me in!
My ask is this- what specifically triggers Michael to turn into the Were-bear and back to human? An emotion? A smell? The person itself?
Thank you for your time.
Hi! I'm happy you're enjoying it!
To answer your question, It's still on the brain storming phases but for right now Michael transforms when he is exposed to too much Remnant or if he feels like he is in too much danger (Something that will come into play a little later)
He can't willingly transform back but certain words and smells can cause the bear nature to vanish for a moment. Smells that are known to calm him or ones he associates with people he feels safe around may also transform him back.

i havent actually seen werefox mike aus so i dont really have any ideas/scenarios….
but like, if you were gonna make a werefox au, im curious;
1. when did mike become (or discover) he was a werefox?
2. how did he become one? is it a fucked up way or is he just Like That
3. does his family know? are any of them weres?
4. if any are, are they also werefoxes, or smth else?
5. if his family doesnt know, is he hiding it on purpose, or have they just like, not figured it out by pure coincidence?
5.5. adding onto five, not really a question, but i think even if he was hiding it/they didnt know hed use it to scare cc given the opportunity. no one believes him that a fuckin werefox keeps coming into his room at odd hours and scares him at any opportunity
6. can he talk when hes in his werefox form? does he sound different? actually now im imagining a teen boys voice coming out of a big ass fox thatd be so funny
7. are weres a common thing at all (even as like, outcasts) or is he just fucked up. like are they known to exist in the world as a thing or is it like, yeah theyre a myth they dont actually exist thatd be wild
okay. i think thats all my questions :3
-cross
Probably recently when the story takes place, so about 14.
It's genetic!
Willaim is! That's who Mike got it from! (Also CC but he's too young to know just yet)
William is a rabbit! the fox part likely was just a mix up of genes since i doubt every wererabbit had kids with only other wererabbits and vice versa yk?
William knows one of his kids is likely to be a were, but they didnt know HE was a were, so mike hid it from him, but liz and cc found out eventually.
he has two forms! i dont have the other one drawn yet but its much bigger and harder to control and he cannot talk in that form, but then he has a smaller one where he's just a little fox boy. its similar to turning red/tokyo mew mew in that his emotions can bring it out but also he can do it at will (however the big one only comes out at specific times and he can't go in and out of it freely)
weres are not well known, but people understand they exist. its like a "this thing is real and not a story but ppl hardly see it so who cares anyways" because weres are nnnot treated well methinks

Uncle
Henry Emily stared at his old friend's home. The Afton household looked dull, cold, reflecting the tragedy that befell the residents that once lived inside.
Police tape flowed gently in the light breeze. They had abandoned the investigation. Why? Henry was still fighting for that answer
The man found the door to the home unlocked, revealing the abandoned family home. Everything had been left. Like nothing had been touched.
Maybe something here could give some closure to what happened to his friend, his family and maybe even Henry's own daughter. He hated the thought but all signs pointed to William being the killer.
Henry rummaged through old cupboards, bedrooms and filing cabinets
Nothing.
That left the basement. Michael had told him William vanished in there a lot. Evan added to that, stating he heard weird noises at night from the basement
William's workshop.
The man had always claimed to have one but never let Henry see it. It worried Henry but he respected his business partner's privacy
Tense with anxiety, Henry slowly pushed open the door to the basement. The dark staircase greeting him.
The man slowly descended into the basement. He was greeted with a sight that was the complete opposite of the upper half of the house.
The place had been trashed. Paper had been made into a carpet as it sprawled over the cold, blood stained floor.
That was another thing. There was dry blood. Stained over the floor, desk and what looked liked a ruined chair
What had William been doing here?
Henry crouched down to the paper cover floor and picked up one of the loose sheets.
Scribbled notes had been written on it. Rants about something called Remnant and the diner.
It froze Henry to his core. Had the business he and William worked so hard for just a lab experiment?
He rummaged through the desk's drawers finding mainly scrap metal and random tools. An odd mess for such an organised man.
Then his hand hit something. Paper, it felt like. A stack of it. A file.
Henry pulled it out and was greeted with the word "Failed" in bold red pen.
Yet up in the corner it stated RE-001 BR
Some sort of test?
Henry placed it on the table and opened it wide. He read the first page. William was going on some rant about eternal life and how he could discover it.
Then the next page went on about animals and their Remnant, a substance William had apparently discovered. One someone could collect after the death of something living.
Then there was the diary entry
October 25th 1983
I have successfully gained some Remnant.
I harvested the substance from a bear cub that had given its life to my research. I am one step closer to my success thanks to the animal.
Now, to get the subject in place.
Henry's confusion only grew. William killed a cub before all of this and for what? Some substance he believed would make him Immortal.
Afton had always been strange but this was taking it to a new level. Henry's friend, business partner, was insane
He flipped the page.
October 27th 1983
Remnant Experiment 1. Bear Experiment.
Subject was reluctant to help. He's always been like that. Gets it from his father. Stubbornness.
He fought back but I was able to get the Remnant in place. His body accepted it nicely at first, healing anything it could.
Then the change began. He began to shift into a bear-human hybrid. It was interesting to say the least but not the result I wanted.
Do not use animal Remnant again. Michael was bound to be a disappointment anyway.
Michael? William's own son? The man Experimented on his own son?!
Henry could feel his blood boil. Not only had William potentially killed people but he Experimented on his son like he was some form of lab rat.
That's when Henry heard a noise behind him. A clang of metal.
A snarl of an animal was heard after.
The man turned to see a brown bear huddled into the corner. Shredded clothing, leftover food and a blanket lay by its paws.
It looked scared. A chain had been tied around it.
Henry could believe what he was seeing. It was exactly how William described. A Bear-human hybrid.
"Michael?" Henry called out to the creature.
The bear's ear twitched as it cried out.
"Jesus Christ" Henry gasped. "What did he do to you?"
The bear or Michael rather, sniffed the air and cried when he smelt something new. Henry couldn't imagine how long he was down here
"It's ok, Mike. It's me" Henry slowly approached the boy. "It's Henry"
Michael slowly approached and sniffed Henry's hand, crying more when he realised who it was.
"It's ok, Michael. Let's get you out of here" Henry spoke, moving to the chain. Michael carefully watched him as he unwrapped the chain around his leg.
As soon as the chain left, Michael leaned down and began licking his back leg much like how a dog would.
"There we go, Mike" Henry said softly.
Michael then let out a loud yell, making the man jump back.
Horrifyingly, the bear began morphing back into the boy. His bones and body parts cracking and reshaping.
There, laying in front of Henry, was a scared bare Michael Afton.
"Holy shit" Henry gasped. He quickly took off his long coat and wrapped it around the teen.
Michael looked up at Henry, tears staining his eyes.
"It hurts" Michael began. "It hurts so much, Uncle Henry"
His voice was harsh, dry, and painful. He sobbed.
"I just want it to stop" Michael cried. "Why me? Why did he do this to me?"
Henry pulled the teen into his arms and was quick to console him.
"You're ok, Michael. I've got you. You're safe now, ok? Ill take you home and I'll watch over you" Henry spoke. "Is that alright?"
Michael nodded almost instantly.
"Come on then. Let's get you home"

It was a cold night. The storm outside was loud against the roof of the Afton household.
Michael Afton knew it was the perfect night for a movie. He had made himself some fresh popcorn and was curled up in the armchair. 'An American Werewolf in London' had just started.
It had been recommended by one of his friends. A gorey werewolf movie? Sign him up.
He knew he wouldn't be disturbed either. His siblings were currently asleep upstairs and his father was in the basement doing god knows what.
Michael could still smell whatever he had dragged in earlier. It had been too dark to see but it had smelt of rotting meat. A smell Michael was familiar with when he had to clean the freezers at Fredbears as punishment for whatever antics he had done.
Michael had learned not to care for his father's work. It wasn't like he was ever told or got to see anything.
So, he didn't question it. He just assumed it was old food from the diner and let his dad get to work. That's usually what happens.
The first werewolf attack had begun playing on the TV when Michael felt a strong hand on his shoulder.
He finished the popcorn in his mouth and looked up at his father, who stared him down with a harsh glare. The bags under his eyes contrasted against his pale skin and blue eyes that met Michael's own.
"Why are you up?" William Afton questioned his eldest. His voice was as cold and harsh as ever, holding that accent that Michael's own voice mimicked.
"Just watching a movie, Father" Michael replied. "It's Friday night. I thought it would be okay as I'm not doing anything tomorrow"
"Yes" William replied, his cold eyes scanning the room. "Your siblings are in bed, yes?"
"Yes. I made sure they were. Lizzie wanted a story from you though. I compromised with her and tried my best to read her one, with the voices like you do" Michael answered.
Michael hated taking care of his siblings. He was only 15. It should be father's job, not his.
"Evan complained about monsters again. I had to show him there was nothing" Michael told his father
William hummed and finally took his hand off his son's shoulder. He picked up the remote to the TV and shut it off.
"Hey!" Michael cried but was quickly silenced when William crouched down to him.
He had always been a tall man. Seeing him crouch was an intimidating thing. No wonder Evan freaked out.
"Michael" William began. "I believe I am on the verge of discovering something wonderful but I need your assistance"
Michael was in shock. His help? Why? His father never let him help with anything.
"With what?" Michael questioned.
"Just a small task. In my workshop." William smiled.
The word workshop meant the basement. Michael knew that.
"Alright. What do you want me to do? Screw something? Test a robot?" Michael smiled a little. He would never admit it but he had definitely inherited his father's love for robotics. Always curious how things worked.
William placed a hand on Michael's back, guiding him to the basement.
Where Michael was hit by an overwhelming smell of what could only be described as death.
"What is that smell?" Michael quietly asked. He received no answer.
Then it was what he saw that made him freeze
Blood was splattered across the desk and floor of the room. William's robotic work had been placed into the corner as vials of an unknown glowing substance sat on the blood stained desk.
Sitting on the centre of said desk, was a dead bear cub.
At least it isn't a person Michael thought.
It was still horrible to look at though.
"Dad. What is this?! What are you doing?" Michael turned to his father, who smiled at him.
William raised a needle filled with a clear liquid. He grabbed Michael by the arm and pulled him closer.
"Hey!! Let me go! What the fuck are you doing?!" Michael yelled as he fought against his father's grip
For such a slender man, William had one hell of a grip. The man grabbed Michael's neck and pulled his chin up.
"Now, Michael. You won't feel a thing" William coldly spoke as he injected the clear liquid into his son's neck.
Michael immediately felt exhausted. Fatigued. He collapsed right there in his father's arms, useless to do anything
When Michael eventually awoke, he couldn't move. He found his arms and legs tied to a chair as he sat in the cold basement. The chair itself looked as if William had stolen it from a dentist office.
"You're awake" William stated as he moved over to Michael in an office chair. The man had rubber gloves on and a leather apron.
"What's going on?" Michael asked, his voice cracking in fear. "What are you doing?"
"Just a small experiment" William replied. He began writing in a journal Michael had never seen before now.
"Remnant Experiment 1. Bear Remnant" Michael watched him write.
"You're experimenting on me?! Your own son?!" Michael cried in surprise.
"It wouldn't be the first time" William admitted.
Michael watched as he walked over to the desk and picked up an empty needle. He filled the thing up with the glowing substance that sat in a jar by the poor cub's corpse.
William grabbed Michael's bound arm, making the teen panic and shuffle.
"Don't move" His Father demanded
Michael froze as William scored his arm with a scalpel, creating a small cut that began to bleed. Michael hissed in pain as he did so.
William then moved to the needle.
"What is that? Father?" Michael asked, scared.
"I call it Remnant." William told him. "I discovered this substance. It's a beautiful thing that lasts for a few minutes after death. If timed right, you can harvest it. Have it become bound onto objects and if my theory is correct, humans too"
"What?" Michael muttered, completely confused and afraid. He knew his father was odd but the insane look on his eyes actually scared Michael.
"I may have discovered immortality, Michael." William grinned. It matched his eyes. "And you, my dear son, will be the first to try it out"
"What?! No!! I don't want it" Michael yelled but his father wasn't listening. Too insane to even hear the fear in his own son's voice.
William grabbed Michael's arm as the boy squirmed under his grip.
Michael felt a sharp sting at first before a burning pain ran through his veins.
William watched in amazement as the Remnant took hold of his eldest's body. The small cut he had made quickly healed over. Just as he thought, it could create healing properties.
Michael felt dizzy. Nauseous.
"Michael. How do you feel?" William asked.
His father's voice made his ears ring. Like he was too loud. The smell of the blood in the room grew too strong, making him feel sick.
He could smell his brother and sister upstairs, somehow, sleeping away.
It was sensory hell. Like everything had been cranked up to 100.
Then the pain kicked in.
Throughout his body, he felt his body tense up and ache.
He began fighting against the straps of the chair.
"Let me out!! It hurts!!" Michael screamed. He would not be surprised if his siblings had woken up to that.
William didn't seem to be bothered. Just intrigued with what was happening.
Michael then felt everything shift. Like his body itself was breaking and being put back together.
His eyes teared up, locking onto his father.
"Please, Dad. It hurts. It hurts so much…" Michael cried.
William didn't move. Just continued to observe.
Michael looked at his hands. His nails had grown long into dark claws and his feet had torn through his pyjama trousers to make room for the new animalistic legs.
Then his face began changing. He could see it being stretched into a long snout with a dark nose. He began growing thick brown fur across his body as his clothing ripped and tore.
Michael tried to call out to his father but all was heard was the whale of an animal
He was turning into a monster like in the movies and there was nothing he could do.
The last Michael remembered was his father staring at him, making one more note.
"Experiment failed. Do not use animal remnant again" he spoke out loud.
—-
When Michael awoke the next morning. He couldn't remember anything.
He lay sprawled out on the armchair covered in popcorn.
What happened? He didn't remember going to sleep here.
He remembered his father asking something and that was it.
What HAD happened?

Welcome!!
Asks: Open
Welcome to my were-creature Michael Afton AU! Where I can let my Were-creature loving ass write and (attempt) drawing!
This AU will follow themes of the usual fnaf shit, William being a shit dad, human experimentation and the usual were-creature shit (Violence and painful transformations)
Michael in this AU is a WereBear as I am a sucker for the Glamike theory (That might tie in with older Mike)
