i love the answer that they didn't let rook join the book club because it was an attempt to avoid forcing roleplay choices onto the player meanwhile...
#like in inquisition for sure none of the dialog options you'd pick#that would reference little things about your past - what you liked about dalish clan - what you got up to at fancy parties etc.#were small details that were firmly within the scope of background blurb you were given#meanwhile in veilguard you pick 'yeah i understand the complicated nature of multicultural identities'#and suddenly your rivaini pirate is actually an escaped tevinter slave#i do super appreciate what they were trying to say and do with this answer and in general here#it was just funny to me given that I got blindsided with that bit of detail#when i was expecting more a comment that was vague about going through it themself#or at most having a parent who isn't rivaini or not being born in rivain#and instead it was such a fucking choice
