what you have to understand is that when an image gets "fed" into the training data it gets turned into a bunch of decimal point numbers between 0 and 1 and so far so good right, the image is still technically there, just codified in the form of numbers but it is still the image you have rights to, correct?

except then those numbers get added up and multiplied a million billion times until they are no longer codifying even a shadow of the same information it started with, and this is before we go into the backpropagation phase. so no, the original data of the image is simply not there except as a shadow of a shadow of an echo and if you dont consider that process "transformative enough" then we might as well get rid of the concept of fair use altogether. you might as well never write a story because it be using the same 27 letter other copyrighted stories used.

Before we start anything here, I would like to say that I am not a professional tarot card reader. I am just a Persona fan who, like MC, had parents who went through a spiritual phase (my highly religious father used to be in a fucking coven; weirdest lore drop I've ever received about that man). So, for the purposes of being ethical here, I wouldn't recommend taking this as a complete lesson on any form of divination. Technically speaking, I'm not even supposed to be doing this for religious reasons, but I fear my years of smarmy teenage esotericism will never truly escape me.

For anyone who is not semi-familiar with the concept of tarot like Cas and MC are, the basic background is that tarot is a form of cartomancy, a style of divination that utilizes playing cards as a medium for divining (also known as future telling). Compared to other divination practices, it's remarkably recent, really only kicking off in the 14th century. A tarot deck, unlike a standard 52-deck of French suited, are traditionally composed of 78 cards. These 78 are then divided into two sections: the major Arcana and the minor Arcana. The major Arcana, which most with a passing knowledge of tarot may already be familiar with, are composed of 22 cards numbered from 0 (The Fool) to 21 (The World). We can get into the minor Arcana later, but the purpose of the major Arcana within the eyes of occultists is that these cards are meant to serve as metaphors for one’s personal journey through life into their enlightenment. This is where the “Fool’s Journey” serves as a narrative conceptualization of this.

The type of reading in question that Cas and MC conduct is known as a "Past/Present/Future" spread, or you could alternatively interpret it as a "Problem/Advice/Outcome" spread. The goal of this type of reading is to use the tarot to reflect on past experiences, current circumstances, and future potential as a means of offering a clearer insight into one’s life in order to take proper direction towards their goals. To begin this type of reading, you usually asks a singular question you seek the answer to. While Cas and MC don't really establish one verbally before their reading, the one that is lingers over the scene is whether Cas should risk his chance at discovering a new aspect of themselves (his cultural history as a witch) by fighting back against them as a coven, or take the chance of exploring this new avenue with the knowledge that it could destroy the life they’ve built for themselves? This question, however, is very long and arguably not even the real question Cas is struggling with. The actual question seems to be a matter of identity: where should Cas’ sense of self lie? Within the covens or their ancestral roots? Now that the question is clear and the shuffling is done, the reading can commence.

PAST: The Four of Wands (Reversed)

Within the major Arcana, the first card in the numbered series is not the Fool, which is represented by 0. The first card is actually the Magician, labeled quite clearly as 1. This card is symbolic of initiation as well as a transparent sense of knowledge that becomes available to all once it is put into motion. There is a lot of things to say about the Magician (sort like how he isn’t even really a magician, rather a street performer), but the important thing for our purposes is the image on the card itself.

See, the most well-known tarot deck (of which there are many) is the Rider Waite deck, originally published in 1909. It’s considered, perhaps, the default set for beginners, and many of its card art, while simple, is packed with as much visual symbology as possible. Within the Magician’s card, he stands in the center of a garden of flowers, often thought to be Roses of Sharon and Lilies of the Valley. Clutched within his left hand is the wand (or in some translations the baton), pointing up at the roses. The Magician also points downwards as well, the power acquired by him moving through his body to bring it below. So, it is often said “As above, as below,” which states everything that occurs in a higher plane of existence also occurs on a lower plane and vice versa. Before the Magician lies a table, on which is a cup, a sword, a pentacle, and a secondary baton/wand.

Okay, so I’m well aware I just gave a lot of information to you in a very short amount of time, but I promise this has a purpose. Namely, this is part where I explain what the minor Arcana is. The minor Arcana is the other 56 cards that make up the tarot deck that Buzzfeed doesn’t talk about because it’s not as interesting. In the way that the major Arcana are meant to signify highly influential moments of one’s life, the minor Arcana are a lot smaller and narrower in their vision. They are separated into four suits: the wands, the cups, the swords, and the pentacles. Noticeably, these are the tools of the Magician with each minor Arcana representing a physical element (fire, water, air, earth) as well as a power/or ability (will, spirituality, reason, material matters) that Magician not only uses, but also has complete mastery over.

The first card drawn represents Cas’ past: The Four of Wands drawn in reversed. Drawing a card in reverse (also known as low polarity) basically means that when you flip the card over, it lies upside down from the perspective of the reader, not the client. This is why when one is incorporating reversals in a reading, it’s important to remember to flip the card horizontally, not vertically. Pulling a card in reverse is often seen as a “negative thing," but all it really communicates is that the energy associated with the card is or will be struggling to properly manifest. This could be for many reasons: it’s not fully developed/in its early stages, it’s present but unable to be expressed, it’s being internalized, etc. There are countless reasons aside from the cards telling you you’re doomed.

The Four of Wands is visually represented by an image of two happy people, likely a couple, dancing and celebrating among a garden of roses and grapes, symbolizing abundance and the cultivation of desire. They hold the bundles in their hands, a visual show that they managed to grasp these very things. The four wands arrange themselves in a manner resembling a wedding arch, the connection between family and this card becoming even more pronounced, particularly with large castle and smaller group of people lingering in the background. 

The wands are a slightly hardball suit of cards to read, at least in my experience as a complete amateur. The wand is seen as the main tool of the Magician for channeling, and it’s directly tied to a type of spiritual consciousness (the will). This spark of creative divinity is often matched to things like the ego and one’s personal energy well; it’s these aspects of yourself that you utilize in your drive to manifest your goals and desires. The lower polarities of the wand suit, in contrast, can point to things like a lack of direction, a trend towards impulsivity, an unstable ego, and so on. The number four tends to commonly be seen on cards meant to represent stability and security. As such, the most bare bones interpretation of the Four of Wands can be seen as the stability of the inner will. Where your ego feels safe within your journey of realizing your fullest potential. The Four of Wands is not an action-oriented card. Rather, it seems more like a pause or breath: a brief moment of meditation. If the Ace of Wands is the initial spark, and the two/three of wands is where you put your steps into action, then the four of wands is meant to be your break for celebration after you’ve reached your initial milestone. It’s a card that demands rest, preferably in a space of peace and sanctuary.

Drawing this card in reverse, as MC points out, is likely a reflect of Cas’ familial instability growing up. Growing up under the foster care system, Cas experienced a state of continual movement, much like MC. Unlike MC however, who had the semi-stable presence of Terri in their life, Cas was not as fortunate. It wasn’t just environment that shifted constantly, but Cas’ own family changed with new rules and personalities to contend with. It’s worth noting that the only foster parent Cas brings up, of which they had to have had quite a few with the rate they were being bounced between homes, is the one that seems to have seared themselves into Cas’ mind for all of the wrong reasons.

I don’t entirely agree with MC’s assertion that this card is not something Cas needs to worry about because “it’s in the past,” or at least I’m not too keen on the phrasing. The entire point of a past reading is that it comes with the knowledge that your past currently affects/or informs the present form of who you are. In regards to the state of Cas’ identity problem, the Four of Wands Reversed shows why Cas is even struggling with this question in the first place. The space that one calls home and the relationships children create in their formative years are crucial to a proper development of the self, and Cas says it best when they state “home is a loose concept in my experience.” Cas never knew their biological parents, got stuck with a strange alien book that holds more questions than answers, and was raised by strangers who likely did not look like them and did not establish themselves as caregivers enough to mitigate this seeming contradiction. There’s a particular post I can't find but still sticks in my head about Cas, almost unconsciously, mimicking a form of Denise they wished actually existed. This constructed sub-personality that’s used to recreate an element of their past with MC where the cool alternative student actually liked the new kid, and it wasn’t actually a cruel joke all along. In fact, Cas seems to be made up of sub-personalities that are entirely dependent on how others perceive them rather than how they perceive themselves. And when they perceive themselves, it’s clear all they see is that kid from senior year more often than not. The loose foundation on which they’ve built their ego has carried through into modern day.

I do wonder, however, if the Four of Wands Reversed may not be only referring to Cas’ upbringing as a human, but also their transition into being a vampire. It’s possible to read this type of card as an unwillingness to move on from the state of temporary rest and celebration it demanded once, but has now concluded. Cas has managed to find a sanctuary in becoming a vampire and joining the Venandi, but it’s also worth noting that the coven structure is a highly restrictive space in of itself. It’s easy to draw connection to the found family nature of these covens and the mixed households that foster care often creates, and to say that Lewyn and Astoria are abusive would be an understatement. It’s not just the covens though. Of the trio, Cas explicitly states a desire to stay within Crimson Beech, or at least they seem to have no real interest in leaving the town even with an excuse to do so. Cas has been roleplaying their teenage years for the better part of thirty years at least. Maybe this is a signal to Cas that it may be time to grow up and move onto the next stage of their journey. Who knows?

PRESENT: The Lovers (Upright)

The present card is the “big advice” card. In interpreting it, you narrow down what exactly is going on at the current moment. What steps can be taken to mend or end the damage brought on by the past. Basically, this is the “we know all of my trauma, what do you want me to do about now?”

The Lovers Arcana is about…well…love. On a basic level, this is a direct reference to the fact that Cas, as MC states, has managed to find their soulmate (or soulmates depending on the route taken). The angel in the middle of the Lovers, Adam and Ish’shah (soon to become Eve), is Raphael, the archangel associated with healing who, in Paradise Lost, is sent down to warn the two mortals of the temptation that lies ahead of them. The card itself is associated with the twin sign of Gemini, whose cosmic purpose lies in seeking out and fully understanding the shadow aspect of one’s self in tandem with its brighter counterpart, ideally coming to a more rounded sense of being. The Lovers card also serves as a metaphor for the marriage of the subconscious mind, where Adam represents the logical and Eve represents the intuitive. In this, Raphael stands in as the divine direction, the super-conscious that guides the two. In its high polarity (upright) state, it represents union, choice, and connections. In its low polarity, it implies discord and disharmony.

In sharp contrast to the instability of their past, the Lovers implies that Cas is in the process of healing the fragmented sense of identity they've acquired, likely through their connections to others. One recent example is Cas’ relationship to their sense of humanity, which they have often tried to deny or hide away as a result of associating it with a period of time in their life where they were at their more vulnerable. It's only through their connection to a human (MC) and another vampire who does everything in their power to reaffirm the humanity they themselves struggle to maintain (Gabe) that Cas gradually begins connecting to this side of their identity again. I don’t think it’s a stretch to say that forming and protecting the family that Cas acquires over the years is their divine directive in a way, implying that the answers to their identity problems lie in these very relationships they’ve built and will continue building. A bridge between communities could be ideal here, but with the witches posing a threat to the covens, it seems this direction has been muddled. Still, the fact that the card appears upright implies that there might not be as much disharmony between these two identities (vampire and witch) as Cas seems to think there is on the surface. In fact, the card could be implying that Cas already knows the answer to their question, or at least is in harmony already. Simply put, Cas might be overthinking things again, creating discord that is not actually there and allowing the opportunity to capitalize on the benefits of this energy pass by. In any case, I would say that the answer to Cas’ concerns is not separation/isolation (which they have already experienced more than enough of), but rather through the connections they have formed and can go onto to form. It’s here they will find a more cohesive form of self.

FUTURE: The Sun (Upright)

The final card to read is the future. In my opinion, it’s debatable whether a card can really tell you the future per say, or simply give a perspective on one possible path that’s in accordance to the advice presented in the present card. After all, the future is varied and the only surefire thing in life is the unchecked chaos of the human will. Also, taxes.

Seeing two or three major Arcana appear in a three-card spread like this is usually the universe trying to signal that something really drastic is probably going to happen to you. I remember once watching an older woman draw, in quick succession, the major Arcanas of Judgement, Death, and the Tower before witnessing the most genuine look of terror befall her. In fact, despite the Sun’s…well…sunny disposition, I actually feel it has quite a lot in common with those aforementioned Death and Tower cards.

When received in high polarity, the Sun represents an awakening of the self from where it was previously dormant. It can also be seen as the moment one becomes truly adept at something. The most immediate thing that comes to mind is the awakening of Cas’ powers as a witch. The Sun speak to a large shift in both outlook and self as well, to the point that the person in question may be completely unrecognizable compared to the where they originally came from or who they once were. In Cas’ case, I think this implies that their brighter and more cognizant future where they have formed and embrace a stronger sense of who they are will be a rapid departure from the wound formed in their childhood reflecting in the Four of Wands Reversed.  After all, the Cas of now is remarkably different in a lot of ways from the Cas that MC meets in the hallway in book one, much less the Cas decades prior. When the card is in low polarity, it’s also associated with ego-centrism and a child-like willfulness. Cas’ past child-like desire to run away from themselves and others, to shut themselves off in moments of being overwhelmed, was also reflective of a type of stubbornness that no doubt stunted their growth. While it’s clear that Cas is still in the process of managing this aspect of themselves, the fact that the card is not reversed in its appearance could be a sign that this part of them may be dealt with.

The birth of a child is also an aspect that a high polarity within the Sun covers, as represented in the card art. If this interpretation is sound, this birth is likely metaphorical; a rebirth of Cas perhaps, and the signal of a new beginning.

Alright, so what’s the point of anything then?

The TLDR goes as followed:

(Past) Four of Wands Reversed – A representation of a call towards a sense of security and identity that was not allotted to Cas in their childhood. This has led to a weaken sense of self that Cas has had to spend a vast major of their time attempting to develop, often through somewhat simple and superficial personas that only represented a small aspect of who they are. There’s a lack of closure that has yet to be discarded.

(Present) The Lovers Upright – Cas has formed connections and relationships that have helped them heal and given them that sense of security missing from their past as well as a more stable sense of self. In the wake of a blossoming identity crisis, it is these relationships which will be the bedrock of Cas’ self-discovery. While they should be mindful of their future, they must remember not to fragment themselves again like they have in the past. A dialectical marriage should be the preferred manner to self-analysis.

(Future) The Sun Upright – Through old and new connections formed in the present, Cas will be rewarded with a greater understanding of themselves and totality of who they are. This version of themselves will likely be much different from the version of them in the past, and thus it is important that they cannot return to that place of isolation and posturing. With two major Arcana to focus on, the past is no longer the most influential period of their life, nor is it the core of who they are. It’s time to behave as such.

Aka, Cas doesn't have to choose, they shouldn't be worrying so much, and this is about their journey at the end of the day.

Looking at all of the messed up boss forms during the Neutral Flowey fight

I just want to talk about them i like them a lot. i was very obsessed with help_tale when i was younger and that's probably why. spoilers below cut, and body horror warning because of the topic ofc.

Decibat

Starting with Decibat, no eyes and a stomach mouth. Awesome!! The stomach mouth kinda goes along with Decibat's noise theme - HUGE MOUTH is loud and Decibat wants quiet.

Dalv

Out of all of the Flowey forms only 2 actually made me jump and this is one of them. Creepy eye things get to me and that’s why this is one of my favorites. It's really simple but it's great. Also the way it glitches sometimes makes it look like he has more than 2 eyes, which I'm not sure if it's on purpose but it's still neat!

I do wonder what would be under the cloak, like would it just be normal Dalv? The void? Something like the Deer Lord from Spooky’s Jumpscare Mansion? idfk. His face being obscured is like how Dalv obscures his face with his cloak for the majority of Dark Ruins, and since we don't really get to know him due to killing him, we don't get to see his real face..

Martlet

Martlet technically doesn’t have a form like the others but I didn’t want to leave her out. This scene does a great job at being unsettling with the lack of talking portrait and the slowed down Snowdin imo. i really like how her hugging animation changes for just that One Frame, it's slow enough that you'll probably catch it but quick enough that you might be wondering if you imagined it.

And then there's the whole "I'm so happy I found you! So happy I found you. I found you." that happens and then her face melts to reveal the Eye. The eye is in grayscale, like Flowey is during the second phase of his fight, so I wonder if it's meant to be HIM looking at you through Martlet.

And the melting parallels her death in No mer- hey wait, why does Martlet melt in both routes where she dies? Like??? I mean, she does have connections to Alphys and the True Lab so like...or maybe i'm just over thinking it. Either way this ones cool, if I knew pixel art I would try to make a form for her like the others have.

El Bailador

I think a lot of people believe this is the scariest one and....yeah. This is the other one that actually made me jump. The smile, the Eyes, it's fucking scary i hate this one (positive). The large strained smile goes with how El Bailador wants to make everyone happy with his dancing even though some prefer quiet, which he doesn't realize. does that make sense idk if that makes sense.

Starlo

Oh boy plant growth body horror! Yeah this one’s good. The vines growing out from his face, the weirdly elongated hands, the way the piece of straw on his hat changes to a flower. Honestly I have 0 clue what is going on with his face. Very cool. I also just noticed the holes in his poncho, like bullet holes? i saw someone say he's still hot on twitter and im scared

Ceroba

Ceroba's gets bonus points for being one of the rarer ones, because you have to abort a No Mercy route to see it. Besides that, no face! Wahoo! Plus her bow has changed to have a flower in it, which matches Starlo.

My favorite thing though is that the way pixels are scattered (i cannot find the right wording for this) kinda makes it look like she's constantly turning into dust which is really cool!! I think her face might be obscured for the same reason as Dalv, considering you have to be in No Mercy to see this you never get to know who Ceroba is.

Guardener

Overgrown robots overgrown robots overgrown robots. She already was overgrown but it gets more turned up with this one which makes me very happy, I love overgrown robots and machinery. All the vines get changed into flowers as well to fit, yippee! The Delta Rune logo on her chest is also scratched out, which is one way to send a message...

Axis

I like how the lack of face here parallels both how axis dies in No Mercy AND the death of the blue soul. This one's very cool, though i wish there were some more wires in his face like his death sprite in No Mercy has. thats a weird thing to wish for isnt it. Actually now that I'm looking at it more, it kinda looks like a mouth? That might just be because of the things at the top and bottom, I'm not sure if it's meant to be a mouth.

Oh! And the heart in his chest is missing, which hurts because both ways you can spare him involve filling his heart (either with Daisy or compliments. Also, Axis' neutral route spare is extremely cute, please go check it out if you haven't seen it.)

Re-redraw, cuz the 2015 drawing is the only group drawing I have from my “MLP phase” that I actually have.

I think to summarize my updated style, it’s “SUITS SUITS SUITS”

From left to right, we have: “Lilli”, Star, C, Rose, Sonia, “Ignite”, “Kya”, and “Zoria”.

Rambling stuff under the cut

Lilli was based on Mieka, so she mostly got purple. And that’s abt it. I literally never used her for anything, aside from younger me wanting to have a character based on my sister.

Yeah for those who know Star and C from Facility X-535, they were originally MLP OCs LOL. Star had no backstory, while C was just a… recolored demonic Pinkie Pie. I think I just liked Star bc of the heterochromia. Nowadays, Star is the 2nd attempt of Director Sy’s “fusing two dead employees together” experiment, and C is a laid-back Bloodfiend.

Rose was created around that time as well, but I don’t know if she came before or after Star and C…? I mostly used her as a sona later on. I think she was angel for a time as well. Nowadays, she’s a goofy girlie who chills within Dream Shift, interacting with eldritch horror creatures. Maybe she was almost murdered by Haven and had to get her angel status amputated *shrug*

Sonia… was basically a genderbent Sonic the Hedgehog LMAO. Cuz of that one Rainbow Dash vs Sonic video. Technically was Shurei’s “OC”, but the only thing I did with her was that she was Rose’s sister. I don’t think Shurei even drew her.

(Shurei made a more current genderbend/human Sonic design, which I used for Facility X-535’s Cycle 0… Maybe a Enzo scenario, where they’re technically the same person, but very different.)

Ignite was just an evil version of Rose, cuz around that time I got into the Sonic.EXE stuff. I don’t remember what else I did with her. Probably tried to throw hands with Rose, idk

Now, Kya and Zoria were both based on childhood friends that I’ve lost contact with. Younger me always drew Kya with a katana for some reason…? Their original names were “Diamond (real name)” and “Princess (real name).”

Assuming that Michael is the player for Fnaf 1/2/3/5/6 (I have no idea what's going on w/4), I doubt there is any way that the spirits (including afton kids & William here btw) knew who they were trying kill was.

So, the animatronics are old and kinda crappy right? So the missing kids wouldn't have the best vision, and (if I recall correctly) Michael looks a lot like William. Plus, we know they attacked anyone with a security uniform (rip phone guy), so they definitely didn't know. I subscribe to the headcanon that they were affected by possible murder machine programming in the animatronics from William, increasing the likelihood that they had 0 idea what they were doing, but I don't know any proof for this, so disregard it, this theory doesn't need it.

Aftons are tricker. Based on how Elizabeth talks about William, I don't think her or CC knew about how fucked up William was.

Next CC. First off, "It's me." Which works if you think he knows Michael is Michael, but it works just as well if CC thinks Michael is William. Again, I have my doubts he knew how messed up William was, but he definitely knew how much Michael was - at least Michael as Foxy bro. I do believe CC said, "It's me" with no ill intent. Whether or not it was meant for Michael depends on how forgiving you think CC is. Irregardless of how forgiving CC is, he is still affected by bad robot eyes and falls into the same hole as the missing kids.

Before moving on to William, I want to touch on Michael. I don't think he knows that Elizabeth, CC, & the missing kids think he's William. From what I understand of SL, Elizabeth does talk like she knows the player. As mentioned above, SL is not a game I have learned a lot about, nor have I learned about Eilzabeth. I don't know if Michael knew that CC was haunting the Golden Freddy costume, but if he did, why would he think his brother would forgive the person who killed him? As for the missing kids, he knew they were attacking security guards (at least after a point), I doubt he thought they knew how he was.

I wanted to touch on Michael before William because this is a special case. I still doubt that William knew the security guard was Michael. His eyes have to be total crap, and (if I recall correctly) he can talk, so why wouldn't he talk to his son? Why would he be trying to kill him? Instead of trying to control him, find out what's happened since he was gone, etc. That's the same. However, I think Michael knows William doesn't know who he is. And wants it like that. Michael likely figured out that William is treating him as a rando. It's not hard to put together, but why wouldn't Michael say anything? Counterpoint, WHY THE FUCK WOULD HE? He knows what William has done, and he's there to burn everything down with William inside.

I am technically in my 2nd fnaf phase, but I've only really ever seen gameplay of SB & Ruin, and that's from speedrunners. I got this far bc of game theory binge watching. Fnaf 4s lore is too confusing for me to touch, I think it doesn't matter, maybe as motivation? Eh, no idea. 6 is more of the same, up till Henry's speech everyone assumes Mike's (oh fuck. Mike has a nickname. I'm a dumbass, forgive me) some rando, Henry speech alerts them their wrong, but they burn before figuring it out.

Alright, I've finished Yakuza 0 after 50 hours and a long money grind for the Dragon of Dojima style. (No, I didn't get Mad Dog style, after grinding real estate for so long, I didn't really feel like grinding at a cabaret club.) The ending was pretty cool, especially with the final bosses. Spoilers ahead

Hiroki Awano, while technically not being a final boss was a really cool fight, and I think he represents Majima's will really well. He vowed he would destroy the Dojima Family in Makoto's stead, and fighting Awano represents this well enough. The next boss follows this, and does it better than Awano. With Vengeance is a great song too.

Like I said a moment ago, Lao Gui is a great representation of Majima's will to end the Dojima Family in Makoto's place, as he fights and nearly kills the greatest assassin in all of Asia. Not only this, but Lao Gui also represents the person Majima wanted to avoid becoming: a mindless assassin only doing jobs because he was told to. He spared Makoto's life because he felt it was wrong to kill her, but Lao Gui doesn't care, and he shot her anyway, which caused this chain of event to unfold, culminating in Lao Gui nearly dying.

Kiryu only got one final boss, and it's quite short, but Keiji Shibusawa is a great final boss. Phase 1 starts out in Keiji's "Rush" style, represented by the pink aura he has, just like Kiryu. While Shibusawa fights for the title of Dragon of Dojima, Kiryu fights for what he thinks is right. Phase 2 has Shibusawa enter his version of a Beast style, and surrounded by tables and chairs. Phase 3 starts, with Shibusawa claiming "I AM the Dragon of Dojima!" and he enters his Brawler stance, eventually Kiryu beats him to the railing and just starts wailing on him, digs his nails into Keiji's skin, throws him back on the ship just to deliver one last punch that sends Shibusawa flying through the air, and when he hits the ground, all he can say is "I'm the Dragon of Dojima..."

Hey guys, I survived the semester. What a trip it's been, this whole college thing. To think that... I'm actually here living my lifelong dream. It's lost on me sometimes. I get so caught up in the daily struggles that I forget just how much good I've done for myself especially in the last year. This... is probably the single biggest year for self growth I've ever had, even if it's also ending with my biggest depressive phase since I lost my best friend in 11th grade. It's so funny this game that life likes to play, you're on top of the world one second and then the next you're crashing hard and fast but somehow? You never really fall to the same depths you escaped before.

I'm doing this whole getting an education thing, and although I've not been doing it as well this semester as I did the past three I'm still very proud of who I have been as a student and how far I've come. I know as a fact that without the breakup I would be doing much better, but truth be told? I don't blame myself for struggling through schoolwork given the toll the split has been on me. I will admit that if there's any part of me that resents Aaron for the breakup, it's definitely the part of me that hates how big of a distraction from work and school it has become. But that's resentment, not really, it's just the passive observation that YEAH, having your heart broken DOES make weekly discussion board posts harder to do. But struggles aside, I fucking did it guys. The way the math works out it'll be almost impossible for me to fail any of my courses after my final exams are graded. Archaeology was an unfortunate struggle; the material listed on the exam wasn't difficult, but the format of the exam was. Hand written short responses to vague questions and the professors insistence upon us using "point form" answering for questions far too complex to answer with just bullets and lists. Anthropology was easy! There were a few questions that stumped me, but not enough that I think I'm in any jeopardy of failing the exam or seriously impacting my grade. My Spanish exam is technically on Tuesday, but with my current grade and how little weighting the final exam has (it's only 10% of the grade!) it's actually impossible for me to fail the course even if I get a 0 on the exam. My creative writing final also went good :) I'll probably revise the final edition a little bit for my own personal pleasure, but the piece that I delivered is something I'm very proud of. It ended up being almost 7,000 words... which is the largest self contained piece of writing I've ever done. I'm very happy with how things went, and I'm excited to share the piece with more people. I'm confident I got at least a B on that final, so that course should end up being a high B or low A. Overall I think my grades will look like: Archaeology: C (maybe D tbh)

But yeah!! That's almost all about school. One more thing ough. I realized I have like... PTSD (half joking?) about a seat in the library at school haha. I sat in the chair that I was sitting in when I got broken up with the other day and opened up my laptop to instagram and started having an actual panic attack lol. I texted both the love of my life (bnuuy entity) and my best friend almost immediately after that for comfort askjhldfasdf I didn't tell the bnuuy what was going on but I did share with my bestie what was happening and they thought it was both goofy but also 1100% understood the feeling of random trauma. I don't think I'll be sitting in that chair again.

Honestly when I originally started to write this I told myself I was going to write a lot about the bunny because they are heavily on my mind but... honestly? I don't feel like it right now. There's a LOT of emotions going on inside my head about them lately (literally almost all of which are positive but in the bittersweet yearning but really fucking with them heavy kinda way) and they're a little too complex to ramble about when I should be relaxing. The short and easy of it is that... I miss them a bunch these days, and I wish I was still theirs. That's kinda always the quick and easy of my thoughts on them, though. I will say that the other day they sent me a goofy ass video of them with a kitty face filter on and they made a joke about us dating that made me laugh a lot alkjshdfalksdf it's kinda funny, I think if anyone else had ever broken my heart and then joked about it I'd hate them.. but I just know Aaron too well to hate him when he does that kinda stuff because I KNOW it's coming from a place of kindness. Him joking about it is a way to normalize us, and him feeling comfortable enough to do that is a sign that he's still comfy with me. Wow I defaulted a lot to he/him just then. It's because earlier today I noticed that their pronouns on twitter are listed as only he/him and I wonder sometimes like... is Aaron just straight up identifying as transmasc these days? I haven't asked!! I should though. OUGH ALSO ONE of our mutual friends MADE FUN OF ME FOR YEARNING SO HEAVILYYYYYYY IT WAS SO SILLYYYYY. Liv has actually become like... the person I talk to the third most lately behind Aaron (#1 always) and my bestie Sammy. They're a really kind soul who really cares about me, they're actually the first mutual friend me and Aaron had and they've been in my life just as long as bnuuy has been. Tbh? If me and Aaron ever work out? I'll be so excited to have Liv in my life as an actual irl friend. Anyways that's basically it. For once this isn't super depressive? I think after my exams finished up and... after I've had a bunch of fun texting Aaron the past couple days I'm feeling a lot better.

My Record Keeping Quartz that I use for keeping muertos "in transit" temporarily from graveyard to vessel. Yes, this IS legit. Conferred with Paleros about it. Rofl, peeps just have no clue about true necromancy. It's not in books or on the internet!

So, how'd I learn it? Truth! Experimenting, trial & error and...other ppl!! The best living (now deceased) teacher I had was Leilah Wendell and her books. But, mostly it was by instinct and a mysterious teacher in the shadows. She has been with me since I was eight years old. Who is it, you ask? Santa Muerte.

She teaches necromancy? No. She guides. Santa will aid anyone who listens well, obeys instructions, doesn't defy her & is 100% honest with her. No need to be obsessed with her, though we all go through a Santa Muerte buying phase. She wants devotion & love but don't choke her. She is conservative but wildly independent & will let you know if you annoy her. Offerings look untouched? Flowers die too fast? Something weird or random happen to you that manifests as a statue missing or tumbling over and breaking? Lol! That's her saying "Lay off a bit!"

I am technically a devotee but my practice is too heavy with beings to take care of right now. I never forget her. I did a $300, 3 hour skin sacrifice on my arm that is fucking awesome. Here she is:

Personally, I think what really taught me, or guided me with the Necro Arts is the Death Energy itself. Totally serious. It's an all encompassing energy that flows like electricity. It has polarity, a positive & negative, a 0 & 1, a male & a female. Yin & yang - yeah. The Death Energy is constant, it has no off switch, no delay, no breaks. All you can do is submit. There's no stopping it. Death prevails.

I'd love to go over my hypothesis here, but can't. It's about a certain type of Death Energy, yes - there are types but no one has ever said anything, anywhere. I'm working very slowly on a writing project that is very good and would be revolutionary if the right publisher came along. A huge NO on self-publishing. Did it too long, not worth it. My ideas would probably change a lot of minds & really make you ponder.

My little project has very little to no magic written for it. It's big on practice but for some reason, the messages I channel just don't mention spells or other castings. Yes, I channel & write but it's not with a spaceman named Lars. Lol! Or some 4th dimensional jabba-hooey.

Ages? Yeah, ... a little over a month now. I know that because I keep track on it. I pretty much keep track on most things. I do this thing where I plan a few weeks ahead and it is supposed to make sure I have more time left because of the planning but it doesn't account for roadblocks such as wrist pain, technical issues with tablets etc-, mental states, stress, health declines or others. So.. I haven't uploaded anything in a while but I never stopped creating ^^! In fact, I'm learning every single day so that I can create more, "better" (subjective) and build a skill-set that will help me be able to make what I want. I felt like I was making art aimlessly, but having a goal helps. Though, by chance, since you're wondering- this week for sure!

And within that planning is of course the Manga! The process is a lot of fun, but also there is science behind Storytelling and I'm using what I know and learning during my graduation process as well in order to create it. That's why I didn't start drawing until I am completely happy with the story (...and now don't mind so much that my previous draft got lost even thought that was so painful lol). I was so ignorant about it though, thinking I could just... create a Manga. Like c'mon. I knew so much time and dedication went into it and yet I thought I could just... do it 😆 but also, it is this dedication that made me able to do most crazy things in life so why not. If I'm going to spend idk how many hours on this then it better matter to me. I don't want Naruto and Sasuke to just drown in some plot, I want them to actively pursue something they care about and struggle, have dark moments and conflicts... heh.

When I first started drawing.. surprisingly I didn't have that many inspirations. I had no clue what I was doing and so what inspired me was the little art-community around me on Instagram because our goals were similar. My goal to finish Inktober, a wish to "someday create a webtoon" and seeing artists around me upload their art was what inspired me. Then, talking about art, each other's uploads, our obsessions- it was all a lot of fun and helped me improve and so did they! Of course you don't have to go there, you can find artists at any stage of their journey anywhere but really try to find artists and art that you like because your style will grow from that and eventually become your own.

I guess a few artists really stood out to me then, but they're literal gods and nothing like me 🥹..they're; wlop, Z ed, Ruan Jia, Zeen Chin, Guweiz and Dao Tong Le. I had a splash art phase where I fangirl'd (still do) so hard over Bo Chen, Sean Tay, Alex Flores, Cheng Du (crow god), Foritis Wang, but there's also Paul Nong, Ley Bowen, Inhyuk Lee... and for storytelling art there's Kan Liu which art I love and Toni Infante and ooooh Astri Lohne's brushwork is amazing as well. Song Nan Li has a few artworks that I've stared at for days and would love to study someday. Jaz Chiang too. Krenz Cushart has a course that I want to purchase because those colors are sublime... and oh, I'm probably forgetting SO MANY right now but I could go on forever tbh. Lemme talk about artists and their art and I won't be able to stop. i tried working on my lady instead of the prophecy fic. which, was more difficult? i think it's because it's technically not in the drafting stage yet. i worked on one of the main characters' sheet as well as brainstorming the setting- i decided to reuse an old idea for it.

i think... i'm going to work on both this week. i will try to use the fifteen-minute time to write for prophecy fic and then once that's done, work on my lady on the side until it's ready for the drafting phase. this is mostly because i felt like i was just... faffing about this session? i could just jump in and try writing a scene, but it didn't feel right since there's 100% chance of me editing it right out.

Well, my first fic was Black Water, but since this is an ever-evolving work with lots of feelings attached to it, I'll go with my first ever aa one-shot: Something Warm in a Noisy World

I like how I managed to get into Annie's psyche and trauma associated with her time in the crystal in such a small wordcount

I love how I still find it to be well in-character despite it being some of my first work and I wasn't as familiar with Annie and Armin's characterization

the perfect balance, imo, of fluff and angst!

7. What was the inspiration behind your shortest fic

My shortest fic would be the "drabble" Would she... at 170 words. This was still relatively early in my BW phase, when I was trying to get back into it and into Armin's head. I thought about this while half-asleep and wrote it whole in my notes' app in like 10 minutes lol.

This technically could be considered an extension of BW, one of the lost "chapters" since Armin is trying his best not to hope or wish for things from Annie that he knows she might not be able to give him, but every once in a while his mind slips and he wonders how things might've been

11. What annoys you the most about your own writing habits?

oh man, that it's either 0 or a 100. I either write over 1k words a day that requires very little editing, or I go cold turkey for weeks at a time. There's no in between :|

13. Do you use symbolism when writing your fics? Tell us about it!

When do I NOT use symbolism in my work lol. I think the themes of finding a home, warmth, feeling safe, and belonging are present in a lot of my fics in general, but the motherload of symbolism has to be Black Water (surprised pikachu face)

I just had a lot of fun burying all sorts of messages in the symbolism; Armin's house representing his and Annie's relationship, the tree being Annie's relationship with her father, clothes (the thing you wear directly on your body to protect it not it only from the elements but other people as well) being a metaphor for feeling safe with one another, at home, and belonging. The seasons in general but also the smell of coffee and tea fixing together as confirmation that Annie's here THEY'RE ENDLESS!

14. Tell us about a detail your wrote that nobody commented on

hmmm... I think the one that immediately comes to mind is the roof leaking at the end of chapter 13, immediately after the angsty smut and before Annie leaves him. Because if the house is their relationship, the leak is a sign that things aren't going well; it wakes Armin up but Annie mostly ignores it
