also like speaking of college joe'marr....one of my favorite headcanons is like, yeah, ja'marr probably hero worshiped/had a big crush on the new hot older super talented QB....but i also think joe had a very inconvenient little crush on ja'marr
like joe said himself that thought of his time at LSU as a master's/internship type program but for football instead of any real school curriculum (lol). he had just spent 3 years at OSU /not/ playing football and it was all he wanted to do. now that he had this chance at LSU he was going to buckle up and take it as seriously as possible (he took all online classes and spent as much time as he could at the facility, living and breathing football as much as possible).
so like, he did NOT plan on getting distracted by the cute freshman with the million watt smile and easy warm nature. this kid who would try to joke with him but never try to talk with him without justin or terrace around. this kid with all this god-given talent but no clue how to actually watch film and improve from it. but hey! nothing always goes 100% to plan!
#but i mean look up college freshman baby ja'marr how could joe resist tbh??#and you know the chemistry didn't quite get there until the end of ja'marr's freshman year#the very important for the Lore fiesta bowl#(where ja'marr himself said it finally clicked for him and joe)#and then came the summer of 10000 catches!! where joe and the receivers spent all summer throwing together and going to the gym#and like they're finally getting to know each other. get slightly more comfortable with each other off the field as they thrive on the fiel#and maybe the crush isn't so inconvenient anymore because it actually comes very in handy that joe is always Aware of ja'marr#and where he is and what he's doing#is ja'marr aware that joe is always Staring at him??#well i have a HC for that as well actually lol#a very clear scene in my head of justin trying to talk to joe about something during practice#and then he realizes that joe is absolutely paying no attention to him#and instead is just watching a shirtless sweating in the louisiana heat ja'marr who's laughing with terrace across the field#and justin is like 'well. that's interesting' and messes with joe about it#and DEFINITELY brings it up to ja'marr later like 'yo i think joe wants in your pants bro'#and ja'marr thinks he's just fucking around#but DOES start to notice that yeah. joe's always staring#and he just has to add that in his 'stuff to figure out about joe's expressions' folder he has stored in his brain#ANYWAY this got long but i love thinking about college joe'marr#joe'marr#nfl rpf

breaking rules
Can we get heavy PDA Joe and everyone’s reaction
joe burrow x gf!reader
—-------------------—----
Your friends made fun of you relentlessly because, to a lot of the outside world, it looked like you and Joe were just friends, distant cousins even. PDA made you very uncomfortable, and that paired well with Joe, who hated anyone prying into his private life. Of course, his teammates and your circle knew that the two of you were together, but the media had yet to catch on, even though you guys lived together.
So imagine your surprise when it was now an hour into the team’s post-season dinner party, and Joe had not left your side. Usually, at these events, you arrive together but then break off, him going to find his boyfriend Ja’Marr, and you going to hang with some of the other WAGs. Then you meet up at the end to leave, and the cycle repeats.
But tonight, Joe’s hand had been snugly placed around your waist, even when you were talking to other people. Missing the playoffs had hit him hard, and you had watched him retreat into his shell these past few weeks; you were there for him when he needed it. So you weren’t shocked at his lack of conversation tonight but surprised by the touch.
The people you were talking to left to grab a drink at the bar, so you took the opportunity to turn to Joe.
“Are you okay?” You asked, concerned.
“Mmhmm,” he mumbled. You looked down at his arm wrapped around you and back up at him, arching an eyebrow. “Just want to be close to you.”
Nodding, you decided you’d let him have a pass tonight to be clingy, even though you were cringing on the inside. Ja’Marr called over to Joe from the other side of the room and you were dragged along to join them. He was sitting on a couch next to Tee, and Joe sat down in an armchair, pulling you down on top of him. Both of his friends’ eyes widened at the sight.
“Never thought I’d see the day,” Ja’Marr said once he came out of shock.
“I thought you guys would never beat the siblings allegations,” Tee chimed in and Joe flipped them off before settling his arms tightly around your waist, pulling you against his chest.
You felt your cheeks flush as you settled into Joe's lap, acutely aware of the eyes on you. Joe seemed unfazed, his thumb tracing lazy circles on your hip as he chatted with Ja'Marr and Tee. You tried to relax, reminding yourself that these were your friends, but you couldn't shake the feeling of exposure.
"You good?" Joe murmured in your ear, his breath warm against your skin.
You nodded, not trusting your voice. Joe pressed a soft kiss to your temple, and you heard Tee let out a low whistle.
"Damn, Joe. Who are you and what have you done with our QB1?" Tee teased.
As the night wore on, Joe's affection only intensified. He peppered kisses along your shoulder, nuzzled into your neck, and whispered sweet nothings in your ear. Your discomfort battled with a growing warmth in your chest at his open displays of love.
"Get a room, you two!" Sam Hubbard called out as he passed by, earning a chorus of laughter and wolf whistles from nearby teammates.
Joe just grinned, pulling you impossibly closer. "Maybe we will," he shot back and you slapped him in the chest.
Deciding you needed some air, you walked off towards the balcony, naturally with Joe right behind you.
“I’m giving you a one-night pass for this kind of behavior only because you’ve been so depressing,” you told him and he smirked at your honesty. He stepped closer to you, sliding his arms around your waist while you rested yours on his shoulders.
“Then I better take advantage hmm,” he said, eyes flickering down to your lips. Before you could protest, his lips were on yours, moving steadily as he found comfort in you. His hands started to dip lower, and you swatted them, causing him to smile against you.
When you pulled back, you gave him an irritated look, and he pouted.
“Come on princess, I just need you,” he admitted and your heart clenched at his words. You knew he was holding on to you like a lifeline and he knew you’d do anything to be there for him.
“Fine, then let’s get a room hot shot,” you said, dragging him off the balcony and towards the front of the venue. Ja’Marr gave you a teasing wave goodbye and you flipped him off.
Joe chuckled at your gesture, his hand laced tightly with yours as you maneuvered through the crowded room. The whispers and knowing smirks from his teammates didn’t faze him in the slightest, but you could feel your cheeks heating up again.
“You’re really enjoying this, aren’t you?” you muttered as you both stepped outside, the cool night air hitting your face.
“Immensely,” Joe replied, his grin only widening. “Can’t let them think I’m a robot all the time.”
You rolled your eyes, but the smile tugging at your lips betrayed your amusement. Once you reached the car, Joe opened the door for you with a flourish, earning an eye roll that turned into a laugh. He climbed in after you, wasting no time pulling you back into his lap.
“Joe,” you started to protest, but he silenced you with another kiss, this one softer, less teasing, and more vulnerable.
“Thank you,” he murmured against your lips when he finally pulled back, his voice low and sincere. “For putting up with me tonight. For everything.”
Your heart softened as you reached up to brush a strand of hair from his forehead. “Always, Joe. I’ve got you.”
His smile this time wasn’t the playful smirk you were used to. It was small, genuine, and filled with gratitude. You let yourself lean into him, your fingers absentmindedly playing with the chain around his neck as the driver started the car.
For all the teasing and awkwardness of the night, you knew one thing for certain: Joe Burrow might not be big on PDA most of the time, but when he let his guard down like this, you couldn’t imagine being anywhere else.

imagine giving joe a hickey.
author's note⠀⁎⠀requested by @lovelyburrow, some sub!joe undertones (my bad)

Joe was always very selective about PDA. He liked to keep his relationship with you private. It was something sacred to him, not to be shared with the prying eyes of the public or his even teammates. So, when he felt the warmth of your lips on his neck the night before, he didn't think much of it. He had no idea the kisses and nips to his neck would lead him to this.
He entered the hotel conference room, finding Ja'Marr sitting alone as players and coaches began to file in. Sam soon joined them, plopping down next to Joe with an smoothie in hand. The room filled with the low hum of male voices and the occasional burst of laughter as the Bearcats game from that afternoon replayed on the TV screens around the room.
Ja'Marr leaned over, peering at Joe's neck. "Yo, what's that on your neck?" He pointed to his neck, his eyes squinting at the sight before him.
Joe's hand shot up to cover the spot. "What are you talking about?"
"You've got a hickey the size of a quarter, bro," Sam said, his eyes wide as he brought a fist up to cover his mouth, his shoulders shaking with a deep laugh. Ja'Marr's laugh boomed through the room as Joe's eyebrows furrowed, a blush creeping up his neck. He glanced around, hoping no one else had noticed.
"What?" Joe murmured, self-consciously touching the spot.
"Come on, Joe, let's see," Ja'Marr prodded, reaching for his phone to snap a picture.
Joe slapped his hand away, "Fuck no. You're not putting that anywhere," he hissed, his cheeks burning.
Sam leaned back in his chair, grinning. "Looks like someone had a good night."
"Or a good morning," Ja'Marr piped up, still chuckling. "Did your girl sneak in before you came down?"
Joe sighed flipping his camera to selfie mode, dropping his hand, and turning his head to show the offending spot. It was definitely a hickey, a dark, round bruise that stood out against his skin. "No," he muttered, "It's from last night."
Sam leaned in to get a better look. "Damn, she wasn't playing around." He took a sip of his smoothie, pulling back with a smirk when Joe sent him a glare.
Ja'Marr chuckled. "You ain't have to stunt on us like this. Good for you, Joey B."
Joe silently thanked the heavens when Zac stood up at the front of the room, calling for the team's attention. The teasing subsided, but the guys couldn't resist throwing a few more jabs under their breath as they turned their focus to their coach. The meeting dragged on, Joe's thoughts consumed by the unwelcome brand on his neck.
Later that evening, Joe fell back against the crisp hotel sheets. His mind was racing with thoughts of how to cover the hickey before the game tomorrow. He picked up his phone and called you, hoping you would have some kind of ingenious solution. Your face filled the screen, your tired smile brightening at the sight of him.
"Hey, babe," you said, your voice warm and unassuming. "How's the hotel?"
"It's fine," Joe replied, his tone flat. He felt his annoyance rise as he thought about the hickey. "But I've got a problem." He turned his head slightly, showing you the reddish blemish that was beginning to purple around the outer edges.
Your eyes lit up with amusement. "Oh," you giggled. "Is that from last night?"
Joe rolled his eyes. "Yes, it is, and it's not funny."
You couldn't help but laugh, your eyes sparkling. "Well, you never told me to take it easy," you said, your voice teasing. "I got a little carried away. That's not a crime."
Joe felt his own smile tugging at his lips despite his embarrassment. "It's not funny," he said, trying to keep his tone serious, but failing. "What am I gonna do?"
Your laughter subsided, your expression turning thoughtful. "Makeup?" you suggested. "You can get some concealer to cover it up before the game."
"Makeup?" Joe echoed, his disbelief clear. "You want me to wear makeup?"
Your smile grew. "Well, not exactly. You don't have to go full glam. Just a little dab of concealer to even out the skin tone."
Joe groaned, rubbing a hand through his damp hair with a scowl. "Where am I gonna get makeup from? Won't it melt off from the sweat anyway?"
Your eyes danced with amusement. "Well, I guess you gotta own it, Burrow. Maybe it'll be your new good luck charm," you said, leaning closer to the camera to kiss the screen. "From me to you."
Joe couldn't argue with your logic, though the thought of walking onto the field with a glaring hickey didn't sit well with his image. He sighed, nodding. "Alright, I'll figure it out. Thanks for the support," he said, his voice dripping with sarcasm.
"Anytime," you said, your laughter bubbling up again. "Good luck tomorrow. Love you."
Joe couldn't help but smile back. "Love you too." He ended the call, feeling a bit more at ease despite the looming embarrassment of tomorrow. He decided to take your advice and own the hickey. It was a small price to pay for how down bad he was for you. Plus, he had to admit, the idea of you leaving your mark on him was kind of hot.
His confidence lasted until the next afternoon, when Joe found himself in the locker room, surrounded by his teammates and their knowing glances. He felt like he had a neon sign pointing at his neck. The guys didn't let up, making hushed comments and sharing smirks every time he looked their way. It was clear that the news had spread through the team like wildfire. Joe tried to ignore them, focusing on his preparations for the game. But as he pulled on his jersey, the fabric brushed against the tender spot, a stark reminder of his predicament.
He stepped onto the field for warm-ups, the cool air hitting his bare neck. The stadium lights seemed to highlight the hickey even more. Joe felt his jaw clench and his face grow hot, but he forced a straight face as he threw the ball around. He had a game to play, a job to do, and he wasn't about to let a little thing like a hickey throw him off his game.
By the time he returned home that night, a win tucked under his belt, Joe was exhausted. He was looking forward to cuddling with you and forgetting about the long weekend. But the moment he walked through the door, you were trying to suppress your amusement, your eyes dancing every time you looked at him.
"Okay," Joe sighed, his chest deflating beneath your head as he exhaled deeply. "What are you smiling about?"
You couldn't hold it in any longer, bursting into a fit of giggles. "You looked so grumpy all game," you exclaimed, poking his chest playfully. "You were trending on Twitter again."
Joe groaned, his hand sliding from his neck to his face. "I know," he said, his voice muffled by his palm. "Couldn't believe it when Sam told me."
You sat up, your laughter fading into a gentle smile as you reached over to trace the hickey with your finger. "You looked like a spoiled toddler," you said, your eyes sparkling with affection. "It's kind of cute, you know."
Joe rolled his eyes, his irritation from the day melting away. "Cute is not the word I would've chosen," he muttered, but he couldn't help the smile that tugged at the corners of his mouth. "I can't believe you did this to me. Destroyed my neck like a chew toy."
You leaned in to kiss him, your eyes gleaming with mischief. "Could've stopped me," you whispered, your breath warm against his skin. "But you didn't."
Joe chuckled despite his feigned annoyance. "I guess I was a little preoccupied," he admitted, his voice low.
"A little?" you teased, your eyes twinkling. "I think you liked being my chew toy."
Joe's cheeks flushed, and he couldn't help but laugh. "Okay," he conceded. "Maybe a little."
You leaned back, your expression satisfied. "So, you're not mad at me?"
Joe sighed, his annoyance giving way to a fond smile. "Mad? Nah, I can't be mad at you," he said, pulling you closer. "It's just, you know how I feel about PDA. It's all over the internet now."
You shrugged, kissing away his pout. "Well, at least your fangirls know you're taken," you said, planting another kiss on the bruised spot.
Joe grimaced, but couldn't help but feel a warmth spread through him at your touch. "Very funny," he said, his tone laced with affection.
"You have a pretty neck," you whispered playfully, your hand moving to his neck again as your eyes darted over his skin as if examining where you could stake your claim next. "You want another one?"
Joe rolled his eyes but didn't stop you. Your touch was gentle and loving, a welcome contrast from the rough teasing from his teammates. "Just don't make it any bigger," he said, his voice a mix of exasperation and resignation.

Your cell phone rang, and you knew that it was only a matter of time before it did. Peeking over to see that it was your twin brother, you answered and put it on speaker.
“Hello twin.” You said as you adjusted baby uno on your chest.
“Pebbles!”
“Yes? Why is the nature of this call so frantic?” You asked knowing exactly the reason why.
“Why am I signing for the delivery of a 75 inch television!?” Ja'Marr asked as he handed the delivery guy the clipboard back.
“Oh, that’s for the baby.”
“The baby? WHAT? WHY? Whose baby are we talking about!?”
“He needs it so he can watch Ms. Rachel in HD. That's why. Don't ask me silly questions. And my baby, obviously.” You replied as Joe had finally come out of his office. You guessed that he was in there reviewing film, but looked highly confused to see you holding his nephew.
Joe mouthed ‘When did you go and get him?’ as you then heard your frantic twin.
“And wait a minute… did you? WHEN DID YOU COME AND TAKE HIM!? I literally got up to answer the door and now he's gone.”
“Hmm, don't know what you're talking about little brother.” You said to him as Joe reached down to take little uno from you.
‘Just now.’ You finally mouthed back to Joe as he nodded his head.
As he started to play with him, it instantly made you smile knowing what your future was going to look like. Joe was amazing with children and you knew that he was the perfect person to have yours with.
“You know EXACTLY what I'm talking about. Stop doing that!”
“Well you got an attitude earlier when I called and only wanted to talk to him instead of you so I went and got him myself so we can discuss his big ass headed father in person.” You responded and Joe couldn't help but to bust out laughing.
“Is that? JOE STOP LAUGHING AT HER. SHE'S NOT FUNNY.”
“Yes, she is. One of the many reasons why I married her.” Joe replied as he smirked and leaned down to kiss you.
“See that's why you my number one opp.” He told you as you heard him walking and assumed he was coming to your house.
“Love you twin.”
“No you don't! You love to torture me!”
“Look, I am about to feed you tacos, so shut up and be nice to me.” You told him as Joe simply walked off with baby uno making you throw your hands up in protest.
“Good, now open the damn door!”
“Lose the attitude and I just might. BABY! BRING ME BACK MY BABY!” You yelled in Joe's direction and you could hear him laughing.
“Which one!? Me or baby uno!?”
“Don't play dumb! You didn't help me on my mission to sneak him out to do hoodrat shit with us as I was doing mission impossible rolls across the floor so I wouldn't get caught!” You told him as you got up to open the door and was met with Ja'Marr who hung up the phone once he saw you.
“Where is my child and where are the tacos!?”
“Your baby is currently being held by my baby and the tacos are being delivered in like ten minutes.” You told him as you moved to the side in order for him to be able to come in.
“I swear you live to stress me out.” Ja'Marr said as Joe finally emerged with your nephew who was currently munching on his baby snacks that you and Joe kept in your pantry for him when you would watch him.
“I love you too, twin.”
You immediately walked over to them and pinched his little cheeks before kissing them. He proceeded to give you a little smile and you could see two of his teeth on the bottom row starting to come in.
“I didn't know that I literally had him for the both of you.” You heard Ja'Marr mutter as he made himself comfortable on the couch as both of you made a face at him.
“Uh, obviously. This is our trial run before I actually get her pregnant.” Joe told him as he sat down next to him and baby uno was now moving back and forth between them.
“And spare me the damn details. I still remember walking in on the two of you at LSU and have been scarred ever since.”
“You are literally so dramatic. I was covered.” You replied as you rolled your eyes as the doorbell rang again.
“Uh, yeah, with Joe's body. And is that the tacos? I'm starving!” Ja'Marr told you and you gave him a tight lipped smile.
“I… Pebbles, what is that look for?”
“That's baby uno's g-wagon. He has to match his favorite auntie.”
“I…. You cannot be serious. Joe, get your wife.”
“Nope. She was your sister first.”

You weren’t sure who the Chiefs were playing.
Not that you hadn’t been trying to pay attention—you had, really—but somewhere between the first and second quarter, you realized you had absolutely no idea which team was on the other side of the field. It didn’t help that Taylor was curled into your side, an arm draped around your shoulders, squeezing you gently every time Travis did something remotely worth cheering for.
"You having fun?" she asked, her voice just loud enough to cut through the roar of the stadium.
You nodded, because it was easier than explaining that football games had never really been fun for you. They were just… familiar. A backdrop to your childhood, a constant in your life. You had been sitting in the stands for as long as you could remember, watching your brothers carve their way through the sport, watching them win, watching them lose. It wasn’t new. None of it was new.
But for Taylor, it was.
So you leaned into her warmth, let yourself cheer when she did, pretended like the weight in your chest wasn’t getting heavier and heavier with every passing minute.
It was easier that way.
After the game, you went out to eat.
Somewhere lowkey—well, as lowkey as you could get when you were with Taylor Swift—where the lights were dim and the noise was loud enough to drown out any lingering thoughts about the game.
You were finally starting to settle, finally letting yourself enjoy the post-game buzz, when you saw him.
Jayson.
The second you saw him, everything else in the restaurant faded.
The warm lighting, the distant clatter of plates, the low hum of conversation—it all became white noise, swallowed by the rush of blood in your ears. Jayson Tatum was here. Here. A few tables away, sitting with a group of people you didn’t recognize, laughing like he hadn’t once shattered you so thoroughly you weren’t sure you’d ever feel whole again.
Your stomach dropped, a sick twist knotting its way through your chest, because suddenly it was December again. Suddenly, you were back in the middle of that breakup, the most public, most humiliating moment of your life. You were reading the headlines, seeing your name next to his in bold, ugly letters, dissecting every photo, every quote, every little piece of your pain that had been turned into entertainment for the world to consume.
Travis stiffened beside you. He saw him too.
And if there was one thing about your big brother, it was that he had never been the type to think twice before throwing a punch when it came to protecting you.
“Let’s go,” he said, already pushing his chair back.
You barely had time to register his words before Taylor was tugging at your hand, her fingers warm and grounding against your wrist. “Come on, babe.”
You should’ve argued. Should’ve said something about how you weren’t going to let him ruin your night, that you didn’t care, that he didn’t affect you anymore. But you knew that would be a lie. You weren’t sure if you could even breathe properly right now, let alone sit here and pretend like seeing him didn’t send you spiraling back to the lowest point in your life.
So you left.
You weren’t even fully out the door before Travis was muttering, “Motherfucker. Just seeing his face makes me wanna—”
“Don’t,” you cut in, voice shakier than you wanted it to be. “Just—don’t, Trav.”
His jaw clenched, but he nodded, running a hand through his hair as he let out a sharp exhale. He was still wired, still pissed, but he wouldn’t push it. Not if you asked him not to.
Taylor, though, was quiet. Too quiet.
And when you turned to her, she was watching you with something so heavy in her eyes, something so full of understanding and sadness and anger that it nearly knocked the breath out of you.
She knew.
She’d known before—she knew the headlines, the surface-level details, the way the media had painted you in the aftermath—but now? Now, she really knew.
And suddenly, for the first time since it all happened, you wanted to talk about it.
The words came before you could stop them. “It wasn’t just the breakup.”
Travis and Taylor both looked at you, startled by the sudden admission.
You swallowed, throat tight. “It was—God, it was everything. He was in my life for so long, I—I thought it would always be that way. We had this stupid back-and-forth thing, and I let him—I let him treat me like I was disposable, like I was something he could just come back to whenever he wanted.” Your voice wavered, thick with something you didn’t want to name. “And then when it finally ended—really ended—it was so public. I couldn’t escape it. I’d open my phone and it was everywhere, people picking sides, making jokes, acting like—like it wasn’t my life that just fell apart.”
Taylor squeezed your hand, her grip firm. “I hate him.”
That pulled a watery laugh out of you, and you shook your head. “I think I do too.”
Travis was still tense, his hands flexing like he was trying to physically restrain himself from going back inside and doing something that would definitely end up all over the news. “I should’ve hit him when I had the chance.”
“I think you did have the chance,” you pointed out. “A couple times.”
“I should’ve hit him more.”
Taylor sighed, but there was amusement in it. “Okay, violence aside, let’s go home, yeah?”
You nodded.
And as the three of you walked toward the car, the weight on your chest didn’t feel quite as heavy anymore.
Kylie had a way of making things seem simpler. Not easy, but manageable. Like no matter how deep the hole you’d fallen into, she could always build you a ladder out of sheer willpower and stubbornness alone.
And right now, as you sat on the couch in her living room, surrounded by the chaos of her kids running in and out of the room, she was trying to do just that.
“I’m just saying,” she said, adjusting Bennett on her hip as she reached for her coffee, “heartbreak isn’t the end of the world. It feels like it is, trust me, I know. But it never actually is.”
You sighed, watching as Wyatt toddled over with a toy in hand, babbling about something you couldn’t quite decipher. Kylie reached down instinctively, ruffling her daughter’s hair before she turned back to you.
“I’ve been where you are,” she continued. “I mean, maybe not exactly where you are, because, you know—" she gestured vaguely, "—I wasn’t dealing with the entire world watching my love life implode. But still.”
You huffed out a laugh, rolling your eyes. “Glad someone finds my misery entertaining.”
“You know that’s not what I mean.” She shot you a look before taking a sip of her coffee. “I’m saying I get it. I get how much it sucks. I get how it feels like you’re never going to be okay again, like no matter what you do, you’re always going to have this big, gaping hole where he used to be.”
You swallowed, glancing down at your hands. Because, yeah. That was exactly how it felt.
Kylie sighed, shifting Bennett in her arms before nudging your knee with her foot. “But you will be okay again. Even if it doesn’t feel like it right now. Even if it takes a while. Because heartbreak sucks, but it doesn’t last forever.”
You let out a slow breath, looking up at her. “And what, exactly, is the secret to moving on?”
Kylie smirked. “Oh, there’s no secret. You just... do it. One day at a time. You wake up, you do your best, and then, one day, you realize it doesn’t hurt as much anymore.”
You stared at her. “That’s it?”
“That’s it.” She shrugged. “And if it makes you feel better, you will find someone else.”
You raised an eyebrow. “Oh?”
“Absolutely.” Kylie grinned, shifting so she could reach for her phone. “And when you do, I fully expect to help you stalk him on Instagram and determine whether or not he’s good enough for you.”
You groaned. “You’re ridiculous.”
“Maybe.” She winked. “But I’m also right.”
You shook your head, but for the first time in a long time, the idea of moving on didn’t seem so impossible.
The locker room smelled like sweat, grass, and the faint, lingering staleness of protein powder. Preseason camp had been brutal—long days under the relentless August sun, drills that made even the veterans question why they ever picked up a football in the first place, and competition so fierce that the air always felt thick with something unspoken.
Joe sat at his locker, tape still wrapped around his knuckles from practice, shoulders tense as he stared down at his cleats like they held the answers to something he couldn’t quite put into words. He could feel the weight of his teammates around him—the easy banter, the occasional slap on the back, the sound of pads hitting the ground as guys peeled them off like second skin.
Ja’Marr plopped down beside him, kicking his own cleats off with a grunt. “You good, Joey B?”
Joe smirked slightly at the nickname but didn’t look up. “Yeah.”
“Uh-huh.” Ja’Marr leaned back, stretching his arms over the bench. “You’ve been acting weird, man.”
Joe exhaled through his nose, finally glancing over at his friend. “Weird how?”
“Weird like... I don’t know. You’re doing things, man.” Ja’Marr waved a hand. “Going out more. Talking to random girls. You—” He pointed at Joe. “—are acting like me.”
That made Joe huff out a quiet laugh. “And that’s a bad thing?”
“It’s a weird thing.” Ja’Marr eyed him. “That’s not you. You’re not a casual guy.”
Joe didn’t say anything.
Because Ja’Marr wasn’t wrong.
Joe had never been the type to chase after girls just for the hell of it. It wasn’t that he didn’t like women—he did. But he’d always been a relationship guy. A stability guy. The kind of guy who found one person and built something solid. That was just how he worked. It was how he thrived.
But now?
Now he didn’t have that.
And maybe that was why he’d been filling his time with meaningless interactions, fleeting distractions that never really amounted to anything. Because at least if he was doing something, he didn’t have to sit in the quiet and think about what was missing.
Ja’Marr sighed, shaking his head like he already knew what was running through Joe’s mind. “Look, man, I get it. Breakups suck. But this whole... whatever this is? Not you.”
Joe clenched his jaw, flexing his fingers against his knee. “Yeah, well. Maybe I need to figure out who I am without her.”
Ja’Marr studied him for a second before nodding slowly. “Fair enough.”
Joe appreciated that about him—Ja’Marr never pushed, never tried to psychoanalyze him the way some people did. He just... got it.
“But for real,” Ja’Marr added after a beat, standing up and stretching, “if you ever wanna talk, you know where to find me.”
Joe smirked. “Yeah. At the club.”
Ja’Marr grinned, tossing a towel at his face. “Damn right.”
Joe shook his head, watching as Ja’Marr walked off, leaving him alone with his thoughts once again.
And that was the thing.
No matter how many people surrounded him, no matter how much he tried to distract himself—at the end of the day, he still felt alone.

Picture Day
Tee Higgins x Chase!Reader
Desc: You start getting antsy 5 weeks postpartum and find something to do with your hands.
TW: nothing too bad, mostly fluff.
Princess Ti | Main Masterlist
WC: about 1k
*✿❀ *. ꕥ * · ❀✿*
The buzz from your clippers fed your creative soul. You had only come in the salon to reminisce and take some time to yourself while your baby girl naps. You couldn't help but miss the chatter of clientele and the smell of coconut oil usually in the air. The pristine white counters in front of each station were completely bare, only each counter’s handheld hair dryer sticking out of the black cubbies.
Sitting in front of the first station, you think back to when your husband asked you what you really wanted in your home. It was a ballsy ask, in your opinion; you weren’t even sure what he meant by it. But he said you could turn the basement into whatever you wanted. It baffled you because you thought he’d want a man cave to escape the realities of marriage. That’s what your dad did, so you thought it was normal to think so.
So you tossed around the idea of taking on more personal and private clients in a home suite. A month later, he pleasantly surprised you with a fully furnished and functional home salon. It resembled a mini version of your main salon in the city. There is nothing that man wouldn't do for you.
After giving birth, Tee kicked into full dad mode. When he said your only job once Tiana was born was to just take care of her, he did not go back on his word. He's been an absolutely phenomenal father and partner, always taking her when you need a break, making sure you eat and stay hydrated, and even getting up during the night to calm her down. Him and your brother are literally upstairs putting together a new nursery glider so your morning feedings can be cozier.
Maybe that's why you're so antsy. You were so used to always caring for others; now that someone is holding you down the same way, you don't know what to do with yourself. You don't even cook anymore. Your mom has been handling all the meals so you can take time and heal. Everything they were doing was amazing, and you deeply appreciated it, but damn, you were bored.
The sound of your phone buzzing made your train of thought drown.

Great, just when you thought you'd be able to do your own thing, your little brother goes and fucks it up before it happens.
Oh well, you shrugged and walked over to the back of the salon for your supplies to set up for Ja'Marr's haircut. You grabbed an apron for you and a barber cape for him (even though you should let him be itchy for threatening to snitch), your black pro clippers, a razor, a number 1 and 2 comb, some holding spray, and a brush. Then, set up your chair.
Minutes later, you were all ready, and your client walked in with your husband.
"Y/n, what are you doing?" He asked with an amused smirk on his face.
"I'm giving my brother the haircut he so desperately needs." You smile back, patting the back of the chair for J to sit down.
"You're supposed to be resting." He crosses his arms as you drape the cape over your brother.
Smirking, you untie your apron and walk up to your husband with your hands on your hips. "Look at me, babe." You slowly spin around to give him an eyeful of your postpartum baby body.
"I see you, mamas. Trust me, I see you." The very nice thing about everyone making sure you take care of yourself these last few weeks has been your ability to prioritize your "snap back." You weren't working out to get to a certain shape. You were just prioritizing strengthening your core, which meant some belly binding, light ab exercises, and self-care. You were nowhere near your pre-baby weight, but you liked the extra curves, and someone else did too.
"You can't just expect me to just sit down and wait for Tiana to wake up. I gotta keep my body active, practice my trade."
He knew you were saying words, but ever since that apron came off, his mind was somewhere else. "Oh, I know how you can get active."
"Alright, y'all just nasty. Am I getting my hair done or what?" Ja'Marr groans from behind you.
"Yea Tee, you gon' let me work or what?" You say, biting your lip.
He takes a deep breath and shakes his head. "Fine," he says, pulling a waiting chair over to the corner of your area. The 6-week rule playing over and over in his mind.
"Good, now let's get to work. Don't worry babe, you're next." You chirp, picking up the brush to begin the haircut.
But Ja'Marr jerks his head away. "Ay, Y/n don't go too rough now."
You can't help but snort. "Yes, yes, I know. You too tenderheaded for my skills."

Chapter 1
Masterlist 😉

Injury…Again.
Joe isn’t sure if the optimist of the doctors is hardly forced or is a hopeful one, either way, sucks knowing he will be one more time stuck in the bench at the middle of the season, getting hurt in one of the most important games with the season on the line.
Either way, opposite of what people expect he went to the following games for support and to be there for their teammates.
With another win with Jake on the controls, he dares to believe the playoffs are at the reach, at the same time he knows the last games will be crucial.
“Morning Joe.” Officer Lynch greets him as every morning and like every morning he gives a hot coffee. “Thanks.”
Joe smiles, putting his hand on his hoodie. “Free day?”
“Guys have an amazing game, it’s a deserved one.” Joe smirks, missing being in the game but focusing on the role he’s playing right now.
“Yeah, that’s what I heard.” Officer Lynch takes a sip of his coffee with a smile in his face. “I'd better go, I still have a few laps before shift over.”
The park is kind of secret. It’s an old park far away from the new ones where you have thousands of things to do; this is kind of classic; just trees, flowers in spring and a lot of places where you can sit and enjoy the view.
The last places where you can see the clear sky without the big buildings covering it.
Joe believes that is it’s secret, nothing too fancy to talk about.
He’s been visiting this place three days after getting injured, he needed a place away from everything and everyone as Ja'Marr drove him to his house, they found it. Joe is pretty sure that Ja'Marr looks at him like he actually lost his mind when he asked him to leave it there.
In an old but well cared for park surrounded by old houses, still he agrees, telling him, called if he needs to drive him back home.
Three weeks later, it became his routine, coming here early in the morning, spending long hours walking, or just sitting loving the peace and calm he feels right there, the anonymity it’s a plus, a golden one.
Sitting in his favorite bench, hidden behind two big trees, where he bets on spring the leafs will help him to be totally aisled of the world.
His calm was interrupted when he heard a curious sound.
He turns to his left, nothing, to his right, nothing, at the back nothing, in front of him just the sunlight painted the blue sky with a soft yellow.
He forgot to look under him.
It’s until the sound intensifies and a small head, with a lot of black dots over it appears under him, smelling his shoes.
Sniffing, that’s what it hears a loud sniffing.
“Whoa!” Joe exclaims seeing how confident a dalmatian puppy came out and keeps smelling his pants until his knees. “Asking for permission is way too much, huh?”
The dog raises its eyes and Joe notices a peculiar black dot that covers all the left ear.
Observing him like he just said the most stupid thing in the world, the dog tilted his head, turning around to sit in front of him, admiring the view.
“Am, hey, are you lost?” Doesn’t turn around. “Your owner is around here?” Nothing.
He searches to see if he has a collar or something but all he can see it’s a navy blue bandanna around the neck; so he stands up kneeling in front of him quivering for he could get a bite.
“Don’t bite me please.” The dog turns around when see from the corner of the eye a hand approaching him, Joe is pretty sure now, he will get bitten.
Until he doesn't, the dog sniffs his right hand where the cast is, slowly gives him a small lick.
“Ok, I just…” By the time he tried to move the bandanna the dog definitely stood and jumped backwards. “How do you expect me to call you owner if you don’t let me see if you have a plaque?”
The dog blinked before barking, making Joe jump slightly, but before he could continue with his talk, Officer Lynch came running to the bench founding a funny scene a dog barking to a guy of 6´4 who is sitting in front of him.
He relaxes his shoulders as he scoffs. “Well, you met each other.”
Joe narrows his eyes confused. “I’m trying to find who the owner is so I can call, but she isn’t cooperative at all.”
Officer Lynch approches to the dalmatian patting the head, in totally amenity. “Isn’t a she, is a he.” The dog closes his eyes in every pat. “And his name is Monet, besides people around here know his owner.”
“Then why is he alone?” Joe stands cleaning the back of his pans.”And why I haven't seen before.”
“Oh, Monet has been out a couple of weeks, visiting family, right boy?” Monet barks. “And he isn’t alone, his owner must be somewhere in the park.”
“Is it legal?” Joe asked in disbelief for the fact that such a puppy walks around this place alone.
“Joe, relax.” The officer knew he needed to give him a big explanation for him to be calm. “Monet is been around this place since he has 2 months old, first carried by his owner as they walk around as he grew up, we’ve know him, he’s kind of restless for be sit while his owner is working so he start to wonder around; the first time believe me she has a almost had a heart attack when she couldn't find him.”
So, the owner is a she.
“But slowly they set a routine, since all we work or pass through frequently here, we agreed to give her a hand. Little Monet will go freely around this place and we don't mind keeping an eye on him.”
Now all has sense.
“But of course you didn't know that.” Monet lay on the grass next to the Officer.
“How can he know when it's time to go? I mean she will look out for him all over the place?” Joe scans the puppy, probably around 4-5 months old.
“She whistles.” Officer Lynch smiles. “He hears it and then he will run to find her.”
Joe highly doubts that can be possible for a puppy.
“How do you know he is Monet, could be any other dalmatian?” Why is he so curious?
“This.” The Officer points to the bandanna. “Monet always has a blue or green one. If he doesn't, then he isn't Monet.”
Monet raises his head, to stand fully a second later.
“Time to go Monet.” Officer Lynch said patting his head. “See you tomorrow.”
Monet barks before running and gets lost among the trees.
“See? It's time to leave.” Joe bliks in disbelief, how can hear something?
Officer Lynch receive the call, time to change shifts. “Well, Joe, see you tomorrow too.”
Joe smiles and nods, having more questions than answers for such a puppy.
For 2 weeks, Joe and Monet find each other on the same bench, at the beginning they just barely see each other but by the second week Joe carefully pat his head, still Monet simply ignores him as he keeps seeing the blue sky.
With Christmas around the corner presents are a daily thing.
“What can you give a dog?” Tee turns his head around, for hearing better.
“What?” Trey, even sitting next to Joe is confused for a random question.
They flew backwards from Pittsburgh, with a loss he tried to distract them.
“Yeah, what would you give to a dog?” Joe asked one more time scrolling in his phone about leashes.
Tee sees Trey who shakes his head. “You don't have a dog.”
Trey has a point. “You're a cat boy, too.” Tee has another good point.
“I met a puppy, a cute one, so before Christmas I like to give something.” Joe sees them with weird expressions on their faces.
“And who is the owner?” Trey asked. “That must help, ask and then give something that the puppy likes.”
“That's the problem!” Joe says it's frustrating to not know such a basic thing. “I don't know who she is.”
Tee giggles. “What a story! Joey doesn't know a girl but he knows the puppy and the present is for the puppy.”
Joe laughs. “I care about the puppy, not about the owner.”
Trey smiles while putting his headphones on. “I guess a simple dog prize must be enough.”
It sounds simple until he arrives at a pet store and he sees more than 3 options of snacks.
Joe's confusion must be so evident for the way a boy approached and asked him.
“Do you need help?” A boy in uniform from the store points to the snacks.
“Yeah, which one of those is the best?” The boy blinks confused for the fact Joe points from side to side of the shelf.
“Am, it depends, your dog has a special type of diet or something like that?” Joe opened his eyes that even hadn't crossed his mind.
“Diet?” He whispers more to himself but it’s audible for the boy.
“Yeah, sometimes a dog has a certain type of diet and you must be stuck to a special…” Joe tilts his head to the left more and more. “Isn’t your dog, right?”
Joe giggles. “Not, is not.”
“Right, in that case, if you don’t mind, why don't you pick a toy, all dogs love toys.” Joe sees the boy who points to the other side of the corridor.
But he finds equally lost, the squeaky one, the fluffy ones, the hard ones, a frisbee.
“Maybe the name could give you a clue.” The boy waits next to him.
Joe sighs. “His name is Monet.”
“Like the painter.” The boys hear another man speak behind them. “A french painter, Claude Monet.”
He’s on the back shelfs picking a cat toy. “Sorry for the interruption. Big fan Joe.” He shakes hands with Joe. “But that could be the reason.”
The boy gasps. “Oh, we have a fluffy toy with the shape of a paintbrush.” The boy started to look in the basket until he found it.
And it actually is, a fake red paintbrush, any squeaky sound just fluffy and light.
“Perfect, thanks.” Joe said after the toy has a pretty wrapping.
The boy who helps him and the cashier smiles, for seconds later adding, who dey?
For a week Joe waited but Christmas passed as New Year too and Monte didn't come. Every morning he arrives at the same bench with the toy in his hands and leaves after a couple of hours with the same toy in his hands.
After the last press conference of the season Ja’Marr waits for driving him home, even though he insisted he can already drive, both of them were so stubborn for letting one drive and the other let the other drive.
“Come on Joe! You can show me where you spend your mornings that lately you look so defeated.” Ja'Marr smiles seeing Joe quiver, a second later opening the door of the passenger seat.
“Where?” Ja’Marr asked as Joe typed the direction on the screen.
Ja’Marr feels kind of defeated too, just arriving at the place, the same old park for the first time. He side-eye to him, as Joe, still he didn't say anything when they walk inside, Chase clearly surprised of how good care the park is and more surprised by the fact a lot of people say hi to Joe, and he doesn’t seem uncomfortable at all.
A bark scares Ja’Marr but Joe turns around quickly with a smile on his face.
Chase simply couldn’t believe a dalmatian running to Joe jumping over him when his best friend patted his chest with his left hand as he stood on his two legs waiting for Joe to pat his head.
For the size Chase calculates he will be 4 probably 6 months old but by the confidence they have it seems that they have already met for a long time.
“Hey buddy!” Joe keeps patting his head so Ja’Marr actually has to lean to witness that smile.
“He’s a dog.” Joe nods but he keeps seeing Monet running around him. “Joe?”
“His name is…”
“MONET!” The female voice makes Ja’Marr feel relieved, of course, the owner dog, that’s why he feels so defeated.
“Where are you?!” Joe looked around and he didn’t recognize the voice, so any one of the people working in the park must be.
Monet barks, calling for the girl to find him. After a couple of seconds, a girl with a big jacket and jeans appears with a leash on her hands.
Probably finding two NFL players here is out of her dreams for the way she stops dry and her cheeks turns in a burning red.
Monet runs back to the girl sitting in front of her. “Sorry, we didn’t mean to scare you.” Joe said, putting his hands on his pockets.
“Oh, am, no…Sorry. I mean.” She takes a deep breath. “I was just scared, Monet runs so fast and normally he doesn’t do that.”
“You didn’t know?” Ja’Marr asks speechless for the way they look as totally strange.
“No, we don’t.” Joe said sharply and clearly. “Am, Joe.”
“Yes, I know.” The girl smiles and walks closer. “And Ja’Marr, right?”
Chase smirks and nods. “A pleasure.”
Joe sees Monet sitting next to the girl when she stands in front of them. “Monet is such a good boy.”
“I know, that’s why I get scared. He is a good behaved boy.” She put the las over his lapels. “His owner will rip my head if I lose him.”
Wait, she isn’t the owner of Monet.
“You're not the owner?” Ja’Marr reads Joe's mind before he can even speak.
She stands after making sure Monet is comfortable.
“Oh no, I'm Nora, I know her, well…” Nora thinks for a second. “My sister is her best friend.”
Joe is utterly confused, now.
“She's been snowed under with work and she hasn't been able to take out Monet, so I finish early my school duties and offer to take him for a walk.” Monet smells Ja’Marr hands, making him smile. “She told me this is his favourite park. Now I know why.”
The guys couldn't avoid giggling because of the way she opens her eyes and smiles, of course, she's a teenager.
Her phone starts to sound so she picks up. “Yes, sorry I got distracted…Oh don't worry, we call an Uber…Not worries, he's fine…Bye.”
She saved it in her pocket one more time. “Your mom Monet, time to go home.” She smiles at the boys. “It's been a pleasure, we must go.”
The boys nod and say goodbye observing Monet and the girl going to the entrance as she takes a quick glimpse, unable to believe what her eyes saw.
“I THOUGHT YOU WERE DEFEATED FOR THE GIRL MAN!” Chase raises his hands in the air. “For a dog?”
“I bought him a nice present and he disappeared! I was worried something could happen to him.” Joe laughs walking back to the car. “It's just a puppy.”
Ja’Marr shakes his head. “You're one of a kind man, one of the kind.”
Savannah arrives with her sister Nora to Y/N house with a happy Monet running to the studio.
“Hey my love!” Y/N smiles as Monet gets between her legs under the table.
Monet waits for a kiss in the top of his head before running back to the living room.
“God! If this is more dark I could actually believe you're living in a cave.” Savannah said point the switch warning she will light on all the lights bubbles, like it supposed to be.
Y/N takes her glasses and closes her eyes to get used to the light.
“What time is it?” By the time she opens the soft white light covers all her studio.
Savannah smiles observing the usual mess when she's so much work, Nora appears next to her sister.
“7 pm, have you even eaten?” See the half bag of chips next to her. “That definitely doesn't count.”
Y/N giggles. “I almost finished, one more layer and this is over.” She laid back on her chair observing her computer, laptop, tablet and a lot of pens all over her desk.
“He behaves?” Said moving her eyes to Nora as she picked up a sketch from the floor.
“Yeah, all good. A small mischief but all under control.” Nora mentions remembering the words of her sister.
<Let's keep between us, if Y/N knows we almost lost Monet she will want to do more than rip some heads.>
“Thanks for taking him out, one more day inside of the house and he will go crazy.” Monet barks to his owner. “Or I.”
“What about pasta?!” Savannah screams from the kitchen. “Forget it, I found shrimps.”
Y/N and Nora roll their eyes.
“Anytime, I mean it.” Nora giggles remembering her unexpected meeting.
“Don't worry, I'm sending this tonight and I'll go back to normal.”
Y/N stands hearing how her back and legs crack due the hours sitting.
“I need some fresh air too.” They walk to the kitchen. “Besides, you're about to enter your finals.” Y/N shakes her head. “Focus on that.”
“Wise advice, hear her.” Savannah adds as sauté the shrimps. “You almost finished?”
Savannah sees the canva over the sofa. A couple of months ago it was a plain empty canva, now it's a beautiful paint of a garden in autumn, orange leaves and yellow over the floor as a few green keeps on the branches.
“Yes, a couple of weeks more and it'll be complete.” Y/N said, perking over the stove seeing her dinner.
“You absolutely have gorgeous views there.” Almost drool just thinking at that moment.
Y/N looks at Monet with narrow eyes, who just sighs and lays his head over his left paw as he gets comfortable in his bed.

Joey B Imagines: Who’s That Girl With Him?

————————————————————————-
summary: when you find out that joe might not be where he told you he was going, you and your best friend drive around cincinnati in hopes of finding out the truth.
warnings: none, angst, cussing
pairing: joe burrow x reader
imagine universe: into the mystic
————————————————————————-
(y/n’s pov)
"hey baby, i'm gonna go workout with ja'marr okay? i love you." - joe whispered and kissed your cheek
before i could even ask any follow up questions, joe had left the room.
when i opened my eyes the clock said 8:30. the twins hadn't waken up yet so i went back to bed.
it was a few hours later when i did wake up. it was to the doorbell ringing.
i was decent enough so i just walked straight downstairs.
when i opened the door it was alexa.
"girl, why are you here?" - you
"felt like coming over. why do you look you just rolled outta bed?" - alexa
"because i did." - you
"really? i'm surprised you aren't on your third round of the morning with joe yet." - alexa walked in the house
"alexa! you’re disgusting! i just gave birth four weeks ago, and joe’s not even here!" - you
"what why?" - alexa followed you upstairs
"he's working out with ja'marr?" - you
"ja'marr's home.." - alexa
"wait what?" - you
we had just walked upstairs and i stopped dead in my tracks, turning and facing alexa.
"are you sure that's what he told you?" - alexa
"yes! he told me this morning he was going out with ja'marr." - you
"uhm…" - alexa
"where is he?! oh my god, where is joe?" - you started panicking
"y/n calm down, i'm sure he's fine!" - alexa
"who's he with?! alexa why did he lie?" - you
"he's probably at the facility y/n, maybe he was supposed to workout with ja'marr but then j canceled.." - alexa
"we're gonna go find him." - you
"what do you mean??" - alexa
"we are gonna go driving around cincinnati until we find him." - you
"don't you guys have a tracker on each other? just check that." - alexa
i pulled the app up and it said joe had his location off.
"his- his locations off.." - you
"okay now i'm mad, we’re gonna go find him. i’m gonna call gracie and evan to come watch your twins." - alexa
"okay, i'm gonna hurry up and get ready.." - you
i threw some clothes on before brushing my teeth and hair.
only one of the twins was awake so i was feeding tyson while alexa and i sat on the couch waiting for gracie and evan.
"what do you think he's doing?" - you
"joe’s not a bad person. i don't think he's doing anything you wouldn't agree with." - alexa
"but why wouldn't he tell me the truth about where he was?" - you
"have you tried calling or texting?" - alexa
"no.." - you
"when did he tell you he was gonna leave to work out?" - alexa
"he told me this morning at 8:30." - you
"well it's 11.." - alexa
"i know, im freaking out alexa. what if he's cheating on me?" - you
"y/n.. calm down. call him." - alexa
i sat tyson's bottle down before pulling my phone out of my pocket and clicking the call button on joe’s contact.
it only rang twice and said the call was declined.
joey❤️ - busy rn
"alexa, im really nervous." - you
no knock or doorbell ring, just gracie barging in with evan following.
"hand the baby over, go find him." - gracie
i jumped up and handed tyson over to gracie.
"thank you guys so much." - you
"you're welcome, and y/n you should calm down a little, you know joe. he wouldn't do anything to harm you." - evan
i nodded before alexa pushed me out the door.
we hopped in her car and went straight to the facility first.
zac was standing at the front desk talking to the receptionist.
"zac? is joe here?" - you
"oh, hey kid! no joe hasn't been here at all today, why?" - zac
"nothing important. thank you for your help. see ya taylor!!" - you
"bye y/n!" - zac called out as you ran back outside
i sat back down in the passenger seat and alexa drove off.
"he hasn't been to the facility at all today, zac said." - you
"okay, text every player joe is close to and ask if he's with them." - alexa
i did exactly what she said. texted sam hubbard, tee higgins, tyler boyd.. literally half the roster.
all of them said no.
"alexa i'm gonna throw up, i think he's cheating on me." - you
"girl, you don't know that." - alexa
we drove around cincinnati for literally an hour, going to all of joes favorite restaurants and places.
i even tried checking his tagged posts on instagram, hoping that maybe a fan met him and posted it. maybe giving me a location hint but there was no new pictures.
"let's get some lunch, i dont’t think we’re gonna find him." - alexa
"i can't even think about eating." - you
"you don't have to okay, but i'm hungry and there's this really good açaí bowl cafe place around here." - alexa
i rolled my eyes as alexa put the cafe in the gps.
on our ten minute drive to the place my mind started to wander to the worst possible outcomes.
is joe cheating on me? is the life we built together gonna be thrown away and be discarded? i can't live without him.
we had arrived to alexa's place of choice and the inside was actually really cute.
it was a corner cafe with windows looking out onto the busy city street.
"i'll have the açaí bowl and a sweat tea." - alexa
"okay.. anything for you?" - waiter
"oh.. no thank you." - you
"are you sure?" - waiter
"yes." - you
"okay suit yourself." - waiter
the waiter walked away and alexa started a conversation, but i wasn't engaged in it.
i just stared out the windows at the people walking past.
there was this really tall guy and shorter girl with blonde hair, they both had coffee in their hands.
they were smiling at something on the girls phone and when the guy lifted his head my heart stopped.
it was joe.
"alexa! look outside right now! it's joe!" - you
alexa's neck popped because of how fast she whipped her head around.
"who's that girl he's with? do you know her? she doesn’t look familiar." - alexa
"no.." - your heart shattered
"we're leaving right now, i'm gonna beat the shit out of him." - alexa
joe and the girl continued walking down the street.
"no don't, can we follow them? i want to know what they are doing." - you
(joes pov)
"okay i know you said that the first house i showed you was perfect but here's another one.." - evelyn showed joe a house on her phone
"oh that's gorgeous, my wife y/n would love that." - joe smiled
"your wife has excellent taste mr. burrow." - evelyn
"yes, excellent and expensive." - joe laughed
"oh she's a girl, expensive is what we like!" - evelyn laughed
"i better get home to her before she gets nervous about where i am." - joe
"that's another common girl trait!" - evelyn laughed
"here i'll walk you to your car, downtown cincinnati is sketchy to walk around alone." - joe
"you bought me coffee and are walking to my car? they don't make gentleman like you that much anymore. your y/n is very lucky." - evelyn
we started waking down the sidewalk again and i realized we had passed a cafe that y/n had always wanted to go to. i made a mental note to take her to a breakfast date there.
(y/n's pov)
alexa and i were following joe and the girl down the sidewalk a long ways behind them.
they weren't really talking or anything, just walking and sipping their coffee.
we followed them all the way to a parking garage and the girl unlocked her car.
her and joe had a brief hug before sharing a few words and then she got in her car.
joe than walked further down the lot to his porche and alexa and i ran off to where we had parked her car before going to the cafe a few levels up.
(joes pov)
i walked evelyn to her car and before she opened her door we shared a brief hug.
"okay so which house do you think you’re going with?" - evelyn
"i think number one.." - joe grinned
"i'm sure your wife will love it! i'm gonna go out on a limb and guess you won’t need time to get a loan?" - evelyn
"no, i can go ahead and make a down payment if that’s okay?" - joe
"that’s great. the next time i see you will be the official tour of the house so y/n and your kids can see it. that's also the day you'll walk away with the keys!" - evelyn
"i'm so excited, thank you so much." - joe
"oh it's just my job as a realtor, no need to thank me." - evelyn
"i'm glad i chose you as our realtor, i think you have similar taste to y/n so it makes it easier for me." - joe chuckled
"yeah, i'm excited to meet her. bye." - evelyn
"bye!" - joe
(y/n's pov)
we were a couple cars behind joe but we quickly realized he was just going back home.
alexa had to stop for gas, so here we were alexa was out of the car pumping gas as i was sitting in the car sobbing.
joe was with another woman, and lied about where he was at. he's a fucking cheater.
when we got home i jumped out of the car and ran in the house.
joe was in the kitchen talking to evan who was sitting at the bar.
gracie was sitting on the couch, no babies in sight.
"hey baby, where'd you go?" - joe
i looked at him for a second and something in me snapped.
i started running towards joe.
"don't!-" - gracie
i grabbed the iced coffee out of his hand, taking the lid off and throwing it in his face.
"what the fuck?!" - joe
"y/n-" - evan
joe wiped the coffee out of his eyes before looking at me with the most confused look on his face.
"don't look so confused joe! you're cheating on me!" - you
"what?! no i'm not!" - joe
"don't lie! alexa and i just saw you with a girl. you guys got coffee, you walked her to her car, you guys hugged!" - you started crying
"y/n it wasn't what it looked like!" - joe
"than what was it joe?!" - you
joe opened his mouth but i cut him off before he could make a sound.
"you know what, i don't want to know. i thought you were my soulmate joe! we have kids together! what was i to you?!" - you
"y/n listen.." - joe
"no, i’m not going to listen! i'm done joe, im leaving you! we are over!” - you
"she was my realtor y/n! i just put a down payment on a fucking house for us!" - joe
"oh damn." - alexa
"wait what.. you're not cheating on me?" - you
"no! why would i ever do that?" - joe
"wait you bought a house?!" - you
"yes. for the love of god i didn't cheat on you, id never do that. she was helping me with picking a house because i wanted to surprise you" - joe sighed
"oh my god.. i'm so sorry.." - you
"it- it's whatever.." - joe
"i threw coffee all over you.." - you
"i'm gonna go change.." - joe
he pushed past me and walked up the stairs.
"i tried to tell you.." - gracie
"i feel like shit. i can't believe i did that. or even thought joe would cheat on me." - you
"its okay y/n. i don't really think joes upset with you." - evan
"i threw coffee in his face." - you shook your head, not able to believe you just did that
"you should go talk to him privately.." - alexa
i nodded and walked upstairs, joe was in our bedroom slipping a new shirt on.
"joe.." - you
"mhm?" - joe
"im so so sorry. i can't believe i thought you'd do such a thing." - you
"it's alright. i understand why you thought that, i know it looked pretty sketch from your pov." - joe
"i overreacted big time." - you
"nah you're all good. do you want to see the house?" - joe smiled
"yes!" - you
joe pulled out his phone and sat down on the bed, patting the spot next to him signaling for me to sit there.
i did and he started showing me pictures of the house, it was absolutely beautiful.
"joe, it's huge.." - you
"i know, we have a big family and a growing family of our own so we'll need the room." - joe
"is that you trying to tell me you want another baby?" - you
"i don't know, maybe. not right now, but definitely soon." - joe
"we'll see." - you
"okay." - joe smiled
"baby listen, i'm actually so sorry about everything. i promise i'll never throw coffee in your face again." - you
"you're fine y/n, but i do appreciate that promise." - joe chuckled
"i love you, more than anything." - you
"i love you too. i hope we fill all 5 rooms of that house with babies." - joe
"slow down there babe. i just had twins less than two months ago." - you
"i'm just kidding... maybe." - joe
"oh what am i gonna do with you?" - you
"i have an idea." - joe smirked
he tossed his phone on the bed behind us and leaned forward, placing his lips on mine.
he pulled me closer and closer until i was sitting in his lap and the kiss was more intimate.
we still haven't gone farther than making out, or me helping joe because i'm still fragile from giving birth not to long ago.
but nothing is better than kissing joe, it felt like fireworks going off throughout your body.

I need your thoughts bc i’m trying to write a story & obviously we ‘know’ how joemarr’s relationship is but do you think joe and ja’marr (separately or together lol) are closer to tee or justin?? AND how do you think their relationship is with both guys. because for me sometimes it’s like joe is tee’s big brother but idk… help. please.
hello!!! (so very sorry this took. so very long. but it's here! and i rambled way too much but at the same time nothing of substance on this sort of 😭)
in a completely non pushy very excited way what fic are you writing hehe any mention of a joemarr fic in progress and i perk up like a lemur. no pressure though keep it all to yourself I'm just nosy lol
and i feel like you are completely free to decide who's closer to who based on your own fic's direction?? like me personally it depends 😭 cannot be definitive for the life of me. i myself have totally sometimes Cartoonify friendships just for the Sake of the Bit you know? but like not too much or it just gets disrespectful and annoying and i try to stay true to their character or whatever really i don't actually know these people lol
the Vibes that i sense and also some i've made up completely in my head are kind of like this:
over the years, i feel like joemarr have grown wayyyy closer to tee and have grown apart from justin. and that's to be given really considering they're now teammates with tee and justin is in a whole other team making whole other moves than them! and that's okay! they aren't made to be forever linked together, they're their own people, making their own marks in the league! but they're always going to have that 2018-19-20 lsu insanity with them and i am always going to mention that in my fics! and nobody's going to forget that college run i fear 2019 lsu is kind of legendary lmao these three are always going to be asked about each other and their pasts linked to each other no matter what and that's honestly really beautiful if you think abt it.
ja'marr and tee -> god these two. i think ja'marr is just. so obsessed with tee. just. incredibly fond of tee. unwilling to let him go. incapable of being chill about him (like he is about anybody who has somehow hit certain standards that only he knows). and i went on a spiel here where i suggest you read bc it's weirdly more well written than what i wrote here 😭. basically, i think he looks up so much to tee because tee is someone who he gets to let his guard down and be just a team player with. does that make sense. it really honestly boils back down to comparing it to justin and that sounds bad but i don't know how to explain it better?? that sounds kind of wrong tbh arhgrhgrh. it's like with tee he doesn't have to keep clawing for his spot or compete as much or whatever. like tee is clearly such an amazing wr, clearly a wr1 caliber player like ja'marr, yet he doesn't fight with ja'marr over his looks or plays or spot like justin does with him, which has to be like a breath of fresh air for ja'marr and he's said it himself all 'tee is the most unselfish player'. like that means something to him. ja'marr cares so much for tee's opinions, tee constantly singing ja'marr praises and ja'marr being so sooo silent whenever tee goes on a rant abt him like he doesn't know what to say he just hugs tee with one arm and says appreciate you so quietly (HE DOES THIS A LOT WHEN HE GETS COMPLIMENTED BTW. DO YOU NOTICE THIS. and there's so many fucking clips of them just wrapped around each other after a tuddy just!!! so cute.), and ja'marr known outrageous mother hen ja'marr chase making (speculationnnn) tee change agents and taking him to his massage therapist (in his fucking houseeee i went on a rant here god this is still so crazy to me) and nagging at tee in his mic'ed up moments so many times that feel good play good thing like. he tries to big brother tee so much when tee's the one big brothering him you know 😭 it's so funny god their dynamic is so fucking funny to me. (ja'marr tries so hard to be mature and captain-like whatever and he is good at it you know but 😭 with tee and joe and like all the bengals vets like mike h and sam and even with yoshi whos the same age as him yk it's so very clear he's the baby lmao.) he's trying so hard to take care of tee, keep him safe and well and healthy and with him, doesn't want him to leave. OH AND they went to this showroom thing where they shopped for stuff and ja'marr went with tee (!!!!!!!) and asked tee's opinion for a belt or something and tee was all dude just choose whatever you want it's soooo cute god they're so cute to me (there was also that fucking loverboy beanie im obsessed with that ja'marr didn't even glance at im so pissed. im so fucking pissed what do i have to do to get him to wear a cat beanie this shit is serious to me) like ja'marr wants to know what tee thinks!! he values his opinions!!!! even for fucking clothes!!!! god. and he knows he plays better with tee with him on that field okay, he says that with tee he doesn't get double teamed as much, and he while he's proven that he plays just as well without tee, that piece of comfort having another wr1 with him (his best friend!!!) has got to be something he wants to keep for eternity (ahahaha, verbatim ofc).
joe and tee -> joe dotes over tee lmao you can't deny that man is besotted (ja'marr is too actually 😭 they both are it's completely understandable but at the same time you just have to close your eyes and wince bc that's embarrassing. please chill the fuck out you do not need to laugh that loud over a single sentence from tee. but again: completely understandable because tee is tee. like that batman hard knocks ep. tee said one fucking sentence and joemarr just. rolled over showed their belly panting it's embarrassingggg) he's soooooooo starry eyed over him, so shamelessly coddling (?) that game hug nuzzle the first time, the broncos game where it looked like he bit his neck, this pre season's training camp (?) laughing sooo freely with tee, every sentence out of him these past few weeks on tee staying in cincy 'tee is a NEED', etc etc like i know you said he's acting like tee's big brother which i agree with completely 100% but it's also like he can be such a little brother with tee!! it's like he can let go and not be a responsible person with tee idk does that make sense. joe totally acting like tees older brother but the thing is tee is doing it right back he's just chiller about it like he doesn't have to think too hard on it unlike joe who thinks he has to be this guy 24/7. it's like joe is unused to having such a down-to-earth sane (still hilariously unhinged but sane you know) guy who makes good choices when he's been stuck with guys like ja'marr and justin who are kind of. well. so he can let up and have tee take care of him for a change! well this isn't like this 100% of the time obviously but you get where i'm going with this right (god I'm so sorry this is a mess) also tee's like. really fucking funny and sweet and joyous to be around is there really any surprise that joemarr are smitten with him lmao. i think joe tweeted something abt playing with tee for a long time when they got drafted together?? kill me. no really kill me.
who do you think brought up that tee should just change agents to ja'marr's lmaooo do you think tee brought up his agent being so fucking argumentative that ja'marr tells him to tell him to fuck off and just switch to his. and then they all go dead silent about this including ja'marr because it was one of those things that he said without thinking. like literal light bulbs going off above their heads at the same time before they start scheming shit calling lawyers and ja'marr's agents at like 2 a.m trying to figure shit out 'playing chess'. or did ja'marr and tee discover this first like 'oh??? we can?? do it probably??' and call joe frantically like can we do it and joe hangs up on them without saying anything and the got so fucking offended only for joe to turn up in their place (either one idk) one minute later probably breaking the speed of light and boom. ja'marr has his claws on tee and he's not letting go ever.
joe and justin -> while yes i said that joemarr grew apart from justin i feel like joe is like the type of person to just. be shameless in reconnecting with people he's grown apart from. while ja'marr is. very petty. lmao. i think joe is just very shameless when he reaches out to people. he, like ja'marr, is insanely loyal and values friendship to a concerning degree. he keeps contact with practically any person he grows attached to and texts them regularly and by that i mean that even if he gets ghosted or there's a ridiculously long period of dead silence between them he still texts first like 'hey bro long time no talk u in town do you wanna watch the new spongebob movie tomorrow' and bulldozes through the awkwardness like he doesn't even see it. which works with justin!! who i think kind of sucks at keeping in touch with people (like ja'marr, see below sooo sorry this is so shittily structured) and he hangs out with a lot of people during the offseason no? (its sooooo fascinating to me how he's sooo introverted and technically a hermit but he's also suchhhhh an outgoing little busybody you know and constantly reaches out to people first? like to gronk????? who does that.) including justin who has the same agent! having the same agent works wonders in keeping the connection no doubt too lmao. the paris fashion week thing etc. i think i've said it before but joe falls in love with every teammate he's ever gotten close to and that very much includes justin jefferson who helped him achieve his Insane Ambition of getting the natty so he's not letting him go even the slightest bit really. also qb-wr connection is practically something otherworldly really so really something to keep in mind when writing quarterbacks with former teammates they've thrown to lol. especially joe, who's kind of crazy 😭. i mean look at all his wristbands and sweatshirts and moving to lsu and hanging on to the playoffs by the skin of his teeth and all that jazz. he does Not let go easily. truly an interesting man to write.
ja'marr and justin -> those type of near aged siblings who fight over the weirdest shit and get stupidly competitive over everything and disgustingly annoyingly overly smug over a win that they get into stupid fights one minute only to slam open the other's bedroom door the next hour saying excitedly 'bitch i got free coupons for ice cream' and the other immediately goes 'DAMN RIGHT let me drive' completely forgetting that they were fighting and then the cycle repeats all over again. you can see just how disgustingly close they were together during lsu and that's not really something that just goes away even through time you know? but i do believe they've both grown individually as people and maybe they wouldn't get along as well now as they do then because again, they've been pitted against each other over and over and over and fucking over oh my god but the love they have for each other is clear as they really when you take in account all they've been through together. and i've said up above how their entire thing has been drenched with Competition and that's different with ja'marr's thing with tee and that's not to say that he doesn't enjoy the competition with justin he clearly loves it lmao he wouldn't be such a good player in the league if he hates it lol. more said down below because again, very shittily structured :)
justin and tee -> they should date idk (i think i had a fic idea for them somewhere in my writing tag ehehe)
on the lsu trio specifically lol didn't know how to insert it up above so:
i think justin and ja’marr are both the type to be shit at replying to texts 😔 like sure they'd text you and stuff but. they ignore so many texts whether intentionally or not. they've both said they don't talk with each other etc etc haHAhaaHHAa pain. if i may Speculate: they both probably tried texting on the regular but suck sooooooo bad at it it just peters off (is that the right fucking word oh my god why is the english language so fucking difficult that is literally a NAME) pathetically like ja'marr texted tuesday 8 p.m and justin replies on saturday 11.59 pm to which ja'marr replies to that at wednesday 1.25 a.m do you get me. and they can't standddd this type of shit 😭 kind of low attention span kind of deal and also losing interest on the text convo and having so much shit going on irl that they just don't really text anymore??
joe is like the opposite of this he replies to texts late max 2 days tops but he’s just shit at text talk. absolutely 0 flair to his words. desperately needs to learn tone indicators but people he texts have grown completely used to this and either accepts they will never understand him or, like ja’marr and justin and tee, somehow understands him 98% and bulldozes through his awkward texting and also shits on him liberally. but even if people reply to him late he'd just continue with the convo completely dead serious abt it uncaring how long you text and never the one to end convos and that's weirdly how he keeps such close contact with people he hasn't seen in years??
that's not to say that justin and ja'marr don't vibe with each other anymore lol it's kind of difficult to let go of what two years of practically living in each other's pockets being the Best at what they do. it's just they've also grown so much apart and bloom into way different people than who they knew each other to be. the random ass rarri truck comment is still so confusing to me though like. are you two okay. what was that. did your agents tell you to do something. could you two please interact irl again so i can obsessively analyze whatever the fuck you got going on actually. maybe make out on camera too idk.
also they have such the shittiest friendship humor that only people in their circle would get you know 😭 constantly shitting on each other (ja'marr does it in front of cameras while justin knows pr talk and actually exercises it well. hence the amount of people shitting on ja'marr for saying shit they themselves have said and joke about their friends. pisses me off.) and outrageously competitive people who are undeniably the best at what they do getting compared to each other constantly and their history of ja'marr technically having beaten justin during college and coming into the league with justin breaking several type of records while ja'marr breaks a whole different set of records etc etc just 😭 do you get me. i am so Sensitive about these two pls nobody touch me about them im sorry..........
joe and justin having the same agents and then tee and ja'marr having the same agents is kind of crazy tbh. tee and justin should date just for this quartet to go straight into Messy.
disclaimer this is all pure Speculation and just me making shit up tbh using my Noticer Glasses that gets cloudy from my own delusions so take this with a grain of salt!
ALSO during college i think it's like. justin was really close to joe bc they're the same year (?) right seniors or whatever closer in age and they're clearly best friends. but justin and ja'marr were like twin flames, same position, and they're kind of insane abt each other during college lmao that one clip post natty win of justin leaning back to ja'marr is like burned into my head. and ja'marr was sooo unsure abt joe at first and joe was kind of way too intense without saying a single thing to ja'marr but just staring at him while justin was like the bridge between these two!! that's like a whole other thing about joemarr and justin that's sooo fun to write about truly i love Speculating lsu days crushes and justin being a little shit about them. (lsu ask i swear i'll finish answering you one day auguauguhsuhg)
#ask#teemarr being the longest go figure#i just. love them so much. if you could see inside my head you would see these two just. wrapped up around each other.#this is so shittily formatted im so sorry but i gave up 😭 this is like a headache to read through god im sorry#and i rewrote this so when i said 'tonight' i meant 'days after i answered your ask' 😃....sorry.........#also didn't reread shit just said 'oh well' and click post so...oh well 😭#are you sick of me saying sorry i know i am <3#somewhat unrelated sort of to this ask#justin doesn't even change his phones lockscreen guys i know this is such a stupid thing to base the texting thing out of but. really.#joe burrow#ja'marr chase#tee higgins#justin jefferson#but honestly#i keep mentioning justin in my joemarr fics lmaoooooo he's like haunting joes love for ja'marr 24/7 like 'joe you dumbass you love him'#and in another ask i have yet to answer fully i hc tee as ja'marrs bestman and justin as joes lmaooooooooooo truly#do whatever you wanttttt#also someone made tweet that tees more loose in the tongue and actions ever since he changed agents in his interviews do you notice that eh#my writing#or is it meta 😭#teemarr meta#...

Can you do write something where reader and Joe are playing Uno?
joe burrow x gf!reader
—------------------------------------------
Eyes narrowed, you stared at your boyfriend but his face betrayed nothing. He was stoic as he stared back at you. You knew his face well enough to know their was a hint of a smirk that was trying to break through as you studied him.
You looked at your hand and then at the pile in the middle. Joe had one card left, and you had a wildcard, but what color should you change it to? He’d played a lot of blues so far, so it could be that, or maybe it was green, and he’d just been waiting for the chance.
“Can you hurry up? Jesus,” Ja’Marr said from next to you, mentally noting that this was the last time he was ever going to play a card game with the two of you. You took Uno very seriously, always had. And Joe was, well, Joe. Losing wasn’t in his nature.
You ignored Ja'Marr's impatient plea, your focus solely on Joe and the crucial decision before you. The tension in the room was palpable as you weighed your options. Finally, with a deep breath, you made your choice.
"Green," you declared, placing down your wild card with a flourish.
Joe's eyebrows raised slightly, the only indication of his surprise. He glanced at his final card, then back at you. For a moment, you thought you'd outsmarted him.
But then, that infuriating smirk you knew so well spread across his face. "I’m out," he said smoothly, laying down a green skip card.
You groaned in frustration as Ja'Marr threw his hands up in exasperation. "Finally! Can we please do something else now?"
Joe leaned back in his chair, victorious. "Whatever you want.”
“Movie,” his friend said insantaly, practically bolting from your dining table to the living room. Joe gave you a wink as he followed, sitting at the end of the couch. You walked right past him, choosing to sit in the arm chair clear on the other side, much to his dismay.
“Baby,” he complained, patting the spot next to him.
“I’m good over here,” you replied shortly and Ja’Marr snickered.
Joe's eyes softened, a mixture of amusement and guilt playing across his features. "Come on, don't be like that," he coaxed, his voice low and persuasive. "It's just a game."
You huffed, crossing your arms and sinking deeper into the armchair. "A game you always win," you muttered, unable to keep the pout from your voice.
Ja'Marr, settling into the middle of the couch, rolled his eyes. "Oh my God, you two are ridiculous. Can we just pick a movie already?"
Joe ignored his friend, his gaze fixed on you. With a sigh, he stood up and crossed the room. His arms reached under you and soon you were lifted in the air temporarily as he sat down in the chair, then settling you on his lap.
You couldn’t stay mad at him for long with a face looking at you like that, and his fingers tracing circles on your skin didn’t help.
“You cheated,” you whispered and he laughed loudly.
"Cheated? Me?" Joe feigned innocence, his blue eyes twinkling with mischief. "I would never."
You rolled your eyes, but couldn't help the smile tugging at your lips. "You always seem to have exactly the right card at exactly the right moment. It's suspicious."
Joe's hands found their way to your waist, pulling you closer. "Maybe I'm just lucky," he murmured, his breath warm against your ear.
"Get a room, you two," Ja'Marr groaned, flipping through Netflix options with increased speed.
You giggled, nestling further into Joe's embrace. His fingers continued their lazy patterns on your skin, sending pleasant shivers down your spine.
"Next time," you whispered, your lips brushing against Joe's jawline, "I'm checking your sleeves before we play."

Your living room buzzed with the chatter of friends and the distant sounds of a video game battle royale. You leaned into the couch, your elbow digging into the cushion as you listened to Alani and Portia's latest gossip, their laughter echoing off the walls. Across from you, Joe, Ja'Marr, and Justin were huddled around the TV, controllers in hand, immersed in a digital world of basketball glory. The aroma of pizza and the occasional snort of laughter filled the air.
Ja'Marr looked up from the screen and caught your eye, a sly smile spreading across his face. "So, Joe," he said, pausing the game, "How's No Nut November treating you?"
Joe's thumbs hovered over his controller, his eyes flicking over to you before returning to the screen. "It's fine, man. No big deal."
But your ears had perked up at the mention of the infamous challenge. You felt your eyebrows furrow in reaction to Joe's participation in something so ludicrous. "No Nut November?" you echoed, your voice laced with disbelief.
Ja'Marr chuckled, leaning back into the couch. "Yeah, Joe suggested we do it this season. You know, build up that testosterone for the big games."
Your eyes widened. "Wait, so you're telling me that if I showed up at your place, begging you to fuck me, you’d turn me down?” You challenged, your voice a blend of playfulness and disbelief.
Joe, ever the poker face, barely glanced away from the TV. "Well, you're not begging," he quipped, a smirk tugging at the corner of his lips. "And it's not just about saying no. It's about self-discipline."
You rolled your eyes and whispered to Alani and Portia, "Can you believe this?" The three of you stifled your laughter, exchanging knowing glances.
"Hold up," Portia said, leaning towards you, "If Joe's really into this 'No Nut November' shit, maybe we can make a bet of our own."
Your eyes sparkled with mischief. "Yeah, like how much you think it'll take for him to crack?"
Your competitive spirit ignited. "I bet he won't make it through the week."
Alani and Portia's giggles grew louder, their eyes gleaming with excitement. "Okay," Alani drawled out as she thought for a moment. "We'll bet on it. If you can get Joe to break before the week is over, we'll buy your drinks for the rest of the month. But if he makes it, you're cleaning the apartment for the month."
Your mouth twitched with a smirk. "You're on," you said, tossing your hair over your shoulder. You knew Joe's resolve was iron-clad, but you had a few tricks up your sleeve.
"Are you seriously betting on my bet? That's cold, babe," Joe called out from the couch without taking his eyes off the TV, a hint of amusement in his voice. You stuck your tongue out at him before turning to your friends, your eyes gleaming with determination. "Game on," you said, raising your hand for a high five.
-
The week began with a series of subtle teases from you. You would strut into the room wearing nothing but Joe's oversized t-shirts, your bare legs leaving little to the imagination. You would bake his favorite cookies, their warm, sweet scent wafting through the apartment when he'd stop by to see you. You would casually drop sexually charged innuendos into typical conversations, watching Joe's reactions with a devilish glint in your eye.
But Joe remained unfazed, his resolve stronger than ever. Each day, he'd give you a knowing smile and say, "Good luck with that," before retreating back to his phone or his laptop. The tension grew thicker than the smell of those freshly baked cookies, and the conversations between the two of you were more heated than the Baton Rouge summer humidity.
One evening, as the week dragged on, you sat on the couch with Joe, your legs thrown over his lap, watching the latest episode of your favorite TV drama. You could feel the heat radiating from him, his muscular thighs tense beneath you. The room was dimly lit by the flickering TV screen, casting a warm glow on your faces. You leaned in closer, your breath hot against his neck, whispering sweet promises and nibbling on his ear. His grip on your thigh tightened, and you knew you had his full attention.
"Come on, Joe," you purred, your voice dripping with seductive challenge. "You can't tell me you're not feeling it."
Joe's jaw clenched, his eyes never leaving the TV. "Babe, I'm serious. This is a commitment I made. And I'm not losing."
Your smile grew wider, your eyes glinting with amusement. "Oh, I know you're serious," you whispered, your hand sliding up to his chest, feeling the steady thump of his heart. "But I'm just saying, you've got to be close to the edge by now."
Joe's eyes darted to yours, a spark of annoyance mixed with lust. "I can handle it," he said firmly, his voice strained.
The days turned into a dance of temptation and denial. You upped your game, slipping into his apartment while he studied, dressed in his favorite set underneath an oversized hoodie, your moisturized skin glowing in the soft lamplight. You would whisper dirty thoughts in his ear, your breath tickling his skin, your fingers tracing the waistband of his sweatpants, feeling the growing bulge beneath. Each time, Joe would push you away with a gruff laugh, calling you relentless.
But you were more determined than ever. You knew Joe's weaknesses, the way he liked his kisses—needy, all tongue as you moaned into each other's mouths—and the way his eyes would glaze over when you touched him just right.
-
One evening, you decided to bring in the big guns. As you sat side by side in your bedroom, you leaned over and whispered, "Babe, I need you to help me with something."
Joe looked up from his laptop, his blue eyes piercing through the darkness. "What's up?"
You bit your bottom lip, your heart racing. "I can't focus on my homework," you whined, your voice low and seductive. "I'm just too distracted."
Joe raised an eyebrow. "What do you need my help with?"
You leaned closer, your hand sliding onto his thigh. "Well, you know what usually helps me focus..." You trailed off, your eyes flicking down to his crotch before meeting his gaze again.
Joe sighed, setting his laptop aside. "You're not playing fair," he said, though the smirk on his face betrayed the seriousness of his words. You giggled as you shrugged playfully. "But I need you, Joe. I really do."
The air grew thick with tension as Joe contemplated his options. He knew he was close to breaking, and your touch was making it increasingly difficult to hold out. You slid your hand up to his waistband, your thumb brushing against the bulge that had formed in his shorts. His breath hitched, his resolve wavering like a candle in a storm.
"Babe, I can't. You know the rules," Joe murmured, trying to ignore the heat building in his pants. But you weren't one to back down easily. You leaned in closer, your breath hot against his ear. "Please, Joe. Just a little bit," you begged, your voice a seductive purr.
Joe's hand shot up, gripping the back of your neck firmly, his eyes flashing with desire. "Babe, you're going to be the death of me," he groaned.
Your grin grew even wider, your brown eyes sparkling with mischief. You sat up, straddling him, your hips pressing into his lap. "Is that a yes?"
Joe's gaze drifted down to your full lips before he pushed you away, a little too roughly, his breathing ragged. "Nope. Not happening," he said, his voice finding its gruff firmness.
You pouted, your eyes glinting with determination. "Come on, Joe, I'm begging," you whispered, your voice filled with a mix of amusement and desperation.
Joe leaned back, his hand still on the back of your neck, his thumb stroking the sensitive skin there. "You know I can't," he said, his voice strained.
You leaned in, your breasts brushing against his chest. "But baby, I'm horny," you whined, your voice dripping with exaggerated need.
Joe's eyes narrowed, and he chuckled. "You're always horny."
You rolled your eyes as you shifted away from the bed, Joe's smug grin following you. "Fine," you said, pouting. "But you know this isn't over."
Joe chuckled, standing up and stretching. "I'll make it up to you after the month's over," he promised, leaning in to kiss your forehead.

By Friday night, you were more than ready to throw in the towel on your little bet. Joe would be playing against Arkansas Saturday night, and you knew he would practically be MIA most of the day. Sitting in the living room of your apartment, you had all but accepted defeat.
"You know what," you said to Alani and Portia, "I think I'm gonna lose."
Your friends exchanged knowing glances, their smiles smug. "You can't give up now," Alani said, nibbling on a slice of pizza. "You're so close to breaking him."
Portia nodded in agreement, her eyes glued to the TV. "Besides, the game's tomorrow. They're playing an SEC rival tomorrow, he might get caught up in the adrenaline and forget all about the challenge."
You scoffed. "Yeah, because Joe Burrow—Joe Cool if you will—is just gonna forget about his sacred 'No Nut November' because they beat Arkansas... a trash SEC team." But deep down, you knew they had a point. The pressure was on, and you had one last shot to win the bet.
That night, as the clock ticked closer to midnight, you lay on the couch, scrolling through your phone. Your mind was unable to focus on the trash reality show that had become a Friday night tradition for the three roommates. Alani and Portia were sprawled out on the floor, surrounded by snack wrappers and empty soda cans, their laughter bouncing off the walls.
Your phone buzzed in your hand, and you looked down to see a text from Joe. Your heart skipped a beat as you read the message.
You're home, right?
You responded, playing it cool.
Yeah, why?
Good.
Came his curt reply, followed by a photo that made you gasp. It was a picture of Joe's covered but visibly erect length, straining against the fabric of his shorts. Your eyes widened as you took in the sight, your pulse quickening.
Your boyfriend had never been one to send many pictures of himself, let alone pictures that bordered on nudes. You felt a thrill of victory run through you as you realized Joe was finally cracking under the pressure.
You texted back, your thumbs flying over the screen.
Oh, is that for me?
Joe's response was swift.
Yeah, it is. Fuck No Nut November.
The words sent a jolt of excitement through your body. You looked over at your roommates, who were now watching you with confused expressions.
"Joe just sent me a dick pic," you sang, rising to your feet, the excitement in your voice palpable.
Alani and Portia's laughter abruptly cut off, their eyes snapping to you in disbelief. "Wait, what?" Alani squealed, reaching for your phone. You dodged her hand, holding the device away with a grin.
Your phone pinged again with another incoming text from Joe.
Open the door.
Your eyes gleamed with victory as you strutted over to the door, your hips swaying with confidence. You threw it open to reveal Joe standing in the hallway, his expression a mix of frustration and need. He stepped into the apartment without saying a word, his eyes locked onto yours.
Your boyfriend was a beautiful man. Dirty blonde hair, blue eyes, clocking in well over 6 feet tall, with a gorgeous smile. But as he towered over you in the doorway, visibly frustrated with pink brushes of color over the bridge of his nose and the apples of his Louisiana sun-tanned cheeks, you couldn't help but feel as if he'd never been more beautiful.
"You told them?" Joe's voice was a mix of annoyance and amusement as he stepped into the apartment, closing the door firmly behind him, hand already reaching for the flesh of your hip. You nodded, unable to suppress the wide grin on your face.
"You sent me a dick pic, Joseph Burrow," you said with a smirk, leaning into his broad frame. The sight of him standing there, looking so flustered and needy, had your heart racing.
Joe rolled his eyes, his grip on your hips tightening. "I know," he said, his voice gruff. "I’ll get you guys your 20 bucks in a minute. Right now, I’ve got something more important to handle."
With that, he scooped you into his arms, his eyes dark with desire. You squealed with surprise, your friends’ laughter trailing behind the two of you as Joe carried you into your bedroom, kicking the door shut.
Alani and Portia giggled, retreating to the front door to give you two space. "Take all the time you need, we’ll find somewhere else to spend the night. Just don’t break the bed!" Alani called out as she closed the door behind her, leaving you and Joe alone in the apartment.
The room was bathed in a soft moonlight, the only sound was the rustling of your clothes as Joe laid you on the bed. He hovered over you, his gaze intense as he reached for the hem of your shirt. Your heart thundered in your chest as you watched Joe's strong, calloused hands peel away the layers of fabric, revealing your bare skin. His touch was like fire, leaving trails of heat wherever he went.
"So, Mr. Self-discipline," you smirked up at Joe as he hovered above you, the bed creaking under your combined weight, "What lesson have we learned this week?"
Joe's eyes narrowed in mock anger as he grabbed the waistband of your shorts, pulling them down. "The only lesson I've learned is that you're a distraction," he murmured, his voice thick with desire.
Your laughter turned into a breathy moan as Joe's mouth found your neck, kissing and sucking as he worked his way down your body. His hands skimmed over your curves, igniting a trail of pleasure that made your toes curl. You felt his erection press against your thigh, and you wrapped your legs around his waist, pulling him closer.
"I think we've both learned some things," you whispered, arching your back as Joe's teeth grazed your collarbone. His hands moved your hair away from your face to trail his kisses down to the valley between your breasts. Your eyes fluttered shut, and you couldn't help but whimper. "But the most important one is that I always win," you said, your voice filled with triumph.
Joe chuckled darkly, his eyes meeting yours as he peeled your panties away from your skin. "We'll see about that," he murmured, his voice a mix of challenge and lust. He held back a groan of appreciation as he took in the sight of your bare pussy, already glistening with need.
Your hands found the bottom of his shirt, tugging at the fabric until it was over his head, revealing his broad, muscular chest. You traced the lines of his obliques with your fingertips, feeling his muscles tighten beneath your touch. Joe leaned down to kiss you, his tongue sliding into your mouth with the same urgency that was building between your thighs.
He broke the kiss to pull his shorts off, his erection springing free, standing tall and proud. You licked your lips as you took in the sight of him, feeling a fresh wave of arousal wash over you.
Joe leaned over you, his breath warm and minty as he whispered, "You're so needy, baby. Couldn't go a week without me, huh?" You felt a rush of heat to your cheeks, but you didn't deny it. Your body was begging for his touch, your pussy throbbing with anticipation.
You smiled into the kiss he pressed to your lips. "Not as much as you, clearly."
Joe's smirk grew into a grin as he hovered above you, his cock standing proudly at attention. "Clearly," he murmured, his hand moving down to stroke your thigh, teasing the sensitive skin of your inner leg.
Your eyes fluttered closed as Joe's touch grew bolder, his fingers tracing the edge of your pussy. You were already wet for him, and you knew you wouldn't be able to hold out much longer. "You're so fucking beautiful, sweetheart," he whispered, his voice hoarse with need.
"Show me how much you've missed me, Joey," you urged, your voice breathy.
For a moment, he just stared at you, his eyes a stormy sea of blue. Then, with a curse, he gave in, pushing inside you with one swift stroke that made you arch off the bed with pleasure. Your nails dug into the sheets, your body stretching to accommodate his size. He was thick, and you felt every inch of him, filling you completely.
"Fuck," Joe groaned, burying his face in your neck. His hips began to move, setting a rhythm that had your toes curling and your legs shaking. You wrapped your arms around his shoulders, your breasts bouncing with each thrust. The friction was exquisite, and you knew it wouldn't be long before you both started spiraling towards your climaxes.
Your hands trailed up from his back into the strands of his hair, his hips beginning to set a relentless pace that sent waves of ecstasy crashing over you. You could feel the tension in his body, the desperation that mirrored your own. You moaned his name, urging him on, your breath coming in pants that matched the rhythm of his thrusts.
"Jesus, babe," Joe grunted, his movements growing more erratic as he continued working you both to your orgasms. You could feel the muscles in his arms tensing, his hand reached down to draw your thigh to rest against his waist. His fingers squeezed at the soft, supple flesh until you knew you'd have bruises in the morning.
But you didn't care. All that mattered was the feeling of him inside you and the way he filled you so completely.
Your moans grew louder, filling the room as you gave in to the pleasure that had been denied for too long. You felt his muscles tense, his grip on your thigh tighten, and knew he was close to losing his battle against the bet.
"You're gonna break, baby," you whispered, your voice a seductive purr. "You're gonna lose the challenge."
Joe's eyes snapped to yours, a challenge gleaming in your depths. "Don't you fucking start with that shit right now," he growled, his breathing ragged despite the corners of his mouth twitching into a smile.
Joe groaned, the sound of pure agony and pleasure as he fought the urge to come too quickly. Your eyes glittered with excitement, your heart racing as you watched him struggle. But you weren't about to let him win.
He had hell to pay for making you wait.
You slid your hand down between your bodies, your fingertips circling your clit as Joe's cock hit just the right spot inside you. The combination was electric, and you could feel the beginnings of your orgasm building.
Your laugh was breathless, a sweet sound that seemed to push him closer to the edge. You sat up, your breasts bouncing with the movement, and kissed him deeply, your tongue dancing with his.
Joe’s eyes rolled back into his head, a low groan escaping his throat. He could feel his self-control slipping away, the pressure building to a crescendo that he hadn’t felt in weeks. He knew he was going to lose this bet, but he also knew it was going to be more than worth it.
"Let me know when you need to pull out." your voice seemed to curl around him, your eyes gleaming with mischief as you watched Joe’s face contort with pleasure.
"Fuck off, you’re enjoying this way too much," Joe murmured, his jaw clenched as he tried to hold back. "You're on the pill, remember?" He continued, his voice strained as he pushed into you deeper.
Your eyes sparkled with mischief as you nodded, your hands running over his back. "Mmhmm," you hummed, your hips rocking into his. "But I'm not ready to bring a little light-skinned baby into this world."
Joe groaned, his grip on your hips tightening. "Goddamn, babe," he warned, his voice strained. "Can't say shit like that when I'm about three seconds away from making it a reality."
"Pull out, dummy," you laughed, knowing he just wanted to prolong the inevitable.
He pulled out with a gasp, his cock glistening with your arousal. You couldn’t help but feel a pang of disappointment, your body begging for more. But you knew the game was still on.
He hissed out a strained, "Fuck," and your eyes widened as you watched Joe’s hand wrap around his throbbing cock, the veins bulging with the painful pulse of his ruined orgasm. The sight of his angry, red tip was almost too much for you to handle, but you bit your lip, keeping your own desire in check. He leaned over the side of the bed, reaching to pull out a condom from the stash in the nightstand.
With trembling fingers, he tore the packet open and rolled it over his erection. The anticipation was killing you, and you could feel your pussy clenching, begging for him to fill you up again.
"Get on top," Joe ordered, his voice gruff with need. You didn’t miss a beat, straddling him and sliding back onto his cock with a moan that seemed to resonate through your very bones. He filled you completely, stretching you in the most delicious way.
Your hands braced on his chest, you began to move, your hips rolling in a sensual dance that had Joe’s eyes crossing with pleasure. The head of his cock hit your g-spot with every thrust, and you could feel your orgasm building again. You threw your head back, your hair cascading down your back like a waterfall of chocolate silk.
The sound of your bodies slapping together filled the room, a symphony of pleasure that seemed to echo off the walls. Your breath grew ragged as you worked yourself closer to the edge, your eyes crafting a hazy image of Joe in his bliss. You could see the need in his gaze, the desire that was just barely being contained.
Joe’s hands roamed over your body, cupping your tits and teasing your nipples until they were pebbled and sensitive. He rolled them between his thumbs and forefingers, a smug smile playing on his lips as he watched your face contort with pleasure.
You leaned forward, your breasts pressing against his chest as you kissed him again, your tongue delving into his mouth with a hunger that matched his. You could feel Joe’s body tensing beneath you, his muscles straining as he held back his release. You broke the kiss, panting, your eyes locked on his.
"You’re so fucking beautiful, baby," Joe murmured against your neck as your hips rolled faster, your breaths coming in pants. He could feel the tightness of your pussy clamping down around him, your walls fluttering with the beginnings of your climax. His own release was barreling towards him like a freight train, the pressure in his balls becoming almost painful.
"Pain in my ass, but so fucking beautiful. "Joe’s voice was a gruff whisper in your ear as his hands moved to your ass, urging you to ride him harder.
You laughed wholeheartedly, a sweet sound that seemed to push Joe closer to the edge. You leaned back, your hands on his thighs, and increased your pace, feeling him swell inside you with every thrust. The sight of you bouncing on him, your pussy clenching around his cock, and your breasts engaged in their own mesmerizing dance, was almost too much.
"Don’t hold back, Joey, I can take it," you teased, your voice thick with lust as you continued to ride him with wild abandon.
Joe's eyes rolled back, and a guttural groan escaped his lips. His hands gripped your hips, guiding your movements, pushing you to the brink of his own release. The tension in the room was palpable, an intense mix of desire and competition that seemed to fuel your passion even further.
You threw your head back, your breaths coming in short, sharp gasps as you felt Joe's cock swell even more. You knew he was close, and you reveled in the power you had over him.
"Do it," you breathed out, your voice a command. "Come for me, baby."
Joe nodded frantically, eyes closing. Then with a whimper, he let go, his hot seed spilling into the condom. Your own orgasm crashed over you, your body shaking with the intensity of it. You remained like that for a few moments, your bodies entwined, breathing heavily as you both came down from your shared highs.
You collapsed onto Joe's chest, your heart racing. You felt his chest heave with his breaths, and you couldn't help but feel a sense of victory. You had won the bet, and more importantly, you had Joe's full attention again. You kissed him softly, your hand stroking his sweaty hair.
After a moment, you pulled back, your eyes twinkling with triumph. "How are you gonna explain this to Ja’Marr and Justin?" You asked, a smug smile playing on your lips.
Joe rolled his eyes, a grin spreading across his face despite his defeat. "I'll think of something. Maybe I'll say you’re a witch with magical pussy powers," he quipped, earning a playful smack from you.
"Asshole," you said with affection, snuggling into him. "You’re so gross."
Joe chuckled, his arms tightening around you. "But you love me anyway."
You couldn't help but laugh, the sound a sweet echo in the quiet room. "Unfortunately, I do."
The two of you lay together, basking in the aftermath of your passionate encounter, the only sound was your mingled breaths and the distant murmur of Baton Rouge outside. Joe separated from your warmth briefly to get rid of the soiled condom. You could feel his dick pulsing gently as it rested against your thigh, the reminder of his release. It was a feeling you hadn't felt in a while, and it brought a sense of contentment that you hadn't realized you had been missing.
Finally, Joe spoke up, his voice a low rumble against your ear. "You know, I should be mad at you."
You pulled back slightly, your smile fading into a look of concern. "Mad? Why?"
Joe sighed, his grip on you loosening. "Because you didn’t even give me a chance to win. You played dirty."
Your eyes sparkled with mischief. "But you love it when I play dirty." You wiggled your hips, feeling him harden against your thigh once more.
Joe groaned, his grip tightening again. "You're going to be the death of me," he said, though his voice held a playful lilt.
You giggled, leaning in for another kiss. "But what a way to go," you whispered, your breath warm against his skin.
Joe's chuckle was strained, his body still humming with the aftershocks of his orgasm. "True," he murmured, his eyes drifting shut as your kisses turned gentle, exploring his jaw and neck.
Your fingertips trailed over his chest, tracing the muscles that had flexed so beautifully under your touch just moments before. Slowly they trailed down to his semi-hard cock, which twitched at the contact. You couldn’t resist the urge to tease him, your nails scraping lightly over the sensitive skin.
Joe groaned, his smile growing wicked. "You're not helping." A large hand dipped down to your ass, giving it a firm squeeze before smacking it lightly. You giggled, the sound spurring his already raging libido.
Your fingers wrapped around him, stroking him with the same skill that had driven him to distraction the entire week. "What if I don't want to help?" you whispered, your eyes full of challenge.
Joe's eyes snapped open, his smirk turning predatory. "You're playing a dangerous game, babe." But the twitch in his cock told you he enjoyed it.
Your hand stroked him more firmly now, your thumb circling the sensitive head. "Isn't that what you love about me?" you purred, feeling the beginnings of his arousal building again.
Joe groaned, his eyes closing briefly as he fought the urge to let go again. "You're a menace," he murmured, his voice a mix of pleasure and exasperation.
"And you love it," you whispered, leaning down to kiss him again. Your hand never stopped moving, your touch growing more insistent as you felt him swell beneath you.
Joe’s eyes snapped open, a smoldering look in their depths. "Maybe," he conceded, his voice thick with lust.
Your smirk grew into a full-blown smile, your hand picking up the pace. The feel of him in your hand was intoxicating, and you knew you had him right where you wanted him. "Maybe?" you teased, your voice rising in mock innocence.
"Fine, I love it," Joe groaned, his hips bucking up to meet your strokes. "But you're going to pay for this."
With a flourish, Joe eased away from your hand and flipped you both over. You found yourself pinned beneath him, his eyes dark with desire. He reached over into the nightstand, grabbing another condom to replace the discarded one sitting in the small trashcan beside the bed.
"Oh, really?" you challenged, your voice laced with excitement. "And what do you plan to do to me?"
Joe's eyes glinted in the moonlight as he leaned over you, his teeth grazing your neck. "I'm going to fuck you until you can't walk straight," he murmured, his cock nudging against your entrance.
Your eyes widened with excitement, your pussy already slick with anticipation. "Is that a promise?" you whispered, your voice breathless.
"You bet your sweet ass it is," Joe said, his voice a low growl as he pushed into you again. Your walls clenched around him, and he had to bite back a moan at the feeling. He’d missed this, missed you, and he wasn’t going to let the opportunity pass without making it count.
He began to move, slow and deep, watching as your eyes glazed over with pleasure. Your nails dug into his back, leaving half-moons on his skin. Your moans grew louder with every stroke, and Joe knew he had you exactly where he wanted you. He leaned down, capturing your mouth in a kiss that was all passion and possession, his tongue dancing with yours as your hips met in a rhythm that seemed to be choreographed by fate itself.
The room grew hot, the scent of sex and sweat mingling with the faint hint of your perfume. The only light came from the moon, casting a soft glow over your tangled limbs. Your breath grew ragged, your moans turning to whimpers as Joe hit that spot inside you that made your toes curl. You felt your orgasm building again, a wave ready to crash over you at any moment.
But Joe wasn’t done with you yet. His hips picked up speed, his strokes becoming more forceful as he claimed your body once again. Your legs wrapped around his waist, your heels digging into his lower back as you matched his rhythm, urging him deeper. Your nails scored his back, leaving red lines in their wake as the intensity grew.
"Such a greedy girl," Joe murmured against your lips, his teeth grazing your bottom lip. He could feel you tighten around him, your pussy begging for release. He didn’t plan to give it to you just yet. He wanted to savor the feeling of you beneath him, savor the way you moaned his name like a prayer.
"Couldn’t let me go for a month, huh? Just had to have my cock fuckin' split you open, huh?" Joe grunted, his rhythm becoming erratic as his own release built.
Your eyes fluttered shut, your breathing coming in short gasps. "Y-yes," you managed to whimper out.
Joe’s smirk grew wider, his cock swelling even more inside you. He knew you were close, your pussy clenching around him. He reached between you, his thumb finding your clit, and began to rub it in small circles as he continued to fuck you hard. Your eyes snapped open, and you stared up at him with a mix of pleasure and desperation.
"Joe, I’m gonna—fuck, yes!" Your voice was a breathy whisper, your body trembling with anticipation.
Joe’s own need was palpable, his strokes becoming more urgent as he felt your walls tighten around him. "Come for me, baby. Show me how much I’ve been neglecting you." He growled, his voice a low rumble that made your insides clench.
Your eyes snapped open, meeting Joe’s intense gaze as you felt yourself teeter on the edge. The orgasm built, a crescendo of pleasure that made your toes curl and your body tighten. With a scream, you shattered, your pussy clenching around Joe’s cock in a vice-like grip that had him groaning in ecstasy. He followed you over the edge, his cock pulsing deep inside you as he filled you with his hot cum, the feeling of him losing control only adding to your own pleasure.
Your heart raced, your chest heaving with every breath. Joe leaned in, placing a soft kiss to your forehead, his thumb gently stroking your cheek. "You win, baby. You always win."
You grinned, your eyes still hazy with passion. "Damn right, I do."
You lay there basking in the afterglow, your bodies sticky with sweat and the scent of sex filling the room. Eventually, Joe rolled off you, his cock slipping out with a wet sound, his cum coating the material of the condom. He disposed of the second soiled condom and then collapsed onto the bed beside you, his chest heaving. You couldn’t help but admire the view, his muscles defined and glistening from the exertion.
"Fuck, I needed that," Joe mumbled, his voice thick with satisfaction.
You chuckled, turning onto your side to face him. "You say that every time we fuck, but it’s like you forget how good it is when you go on those stupid bets," you teased, playfully poking his chest.
Joe caught your hand, bringing it to his mouth for a kiss. "Maybe I need the bets to remind me how much I miss this when I’m not getting it," he said, his voice still rough from his orgasm.
Your eyes searched his, and you could see the truth in them. Despite the teasing, you knew he enjoyed the challenge you presented, and the thrill of the chase was just as much a part of your relationship as your intimate moments of passion. You leaned in to kiss him, your lips meeting in a gentle caress that spoke of something deeper than the physical connection you had just shared.
As you two lay there, your hearts slowly returning to a steady beat, your mind raced with the implications of your victory. You had won the bet, but more importantly, you had proven to Joe that you could break through his walls of self-control. It was a dizzy feeling, one that filled you with a newfound sense of power in your relationship.
"So, what do I get for winning?" you asked, your voice still husky from your love-making.
Joe chuckled, his chest rising and falling with his breaths. "What do you want?" he replied, his eyes playfully challenging yours.
You pretended to think for a moment, your hand tracing a line down Joe’s chest. "How about you never make a stupid bet like that again?" you suggested with a cheeky smile.
Joe rolled his eyes, but the grin on his face betrayed his amusement. "Okay, fine, I’ll never do a No Nut November again if you promise to leave my fantasy football league alone," he countered, his hand coming up to cup your face, his thumb stroking your cheek gently.
Your eyes lit up with mischief. "You’re an NCAA athlete, you shouldn’t be betting in the first place."
"Hey, a guy’s gotta have fun somehow," Joe said with a grin. He kissed you again, his hand resting innocently on your body for the first time that week.
Your smile turned sly. "Well, you definitely had your fun tonight. I’m surprised you have anything left in you after that performance."
Joe’s grin turned wolfish, his eyes darkening with renewed desire. "Oh, don’t you worry, baby. I’ve got plenty more where that came from." His hand trailed down to your thigh, giving it a gentle squeeze before sliding up to cup your ass. You giggled, squirming against him.
"That’s enough for tonight, Joseph. Maybe if you win tomorrow’s game, I’ll consider it," you teased, playfully swatting his hand away.
Joe’s eyes narrowed, his competitive spirit riled up. "Against Arkansas? Babe, have some faith in me, holy shit," he said, his voice a low rumble as you both laughed. "But when I win, you’re all mine for the weekend. No distractions, no friends, just you and me."
Your pulse quickened at the thought of an uninterrupted weekend of Joe’s undivided attention. "Can't wait," you whispered.

Sighing as you heard the doorbell rang as soon as you had sat down at the couch instantly annoyed you. Joe was somewhere in the house and probably in his office downstairs going over film and figured that you had to be the one to answer the door.
As you approached the foyer, you could make out the tall shape of your twin brother without even having to see him face to face and quickly opened the door.
Even though he had literally been over for breakfast earlier that morning.
“So, ugly twin has returned. What do you want? Didn’t I just feed you like an hour ago?” You asked as you looked at your phone to see what the time was and he quickly rolled his eyes.
“Move your ass over so I can come in and besides that was breakfast and now I’m here for lunch.”
“Do I look like an all you can eat buffet to you?! Groceries are EXPENSIVE and you and Joe eat like yall have never seen food before in your LIVES.”
“Hmm, not to me but definitely probably to your husband. The all you can eat buffet I mean and um, so? He’s the highest paid quarterback in the league, he can afford it. Where is he by the way?”
“Minding his business which you should be doing sir. You have your own house, but no one would ever know it because you are literally here all the time. And I’m ignoring that first part.” You told him as you sat down on the couch as he sat next to you.
“I came over to see you because I was bored.”
“Well, I was about to watch a movie, but I have another idea.”
“Go on.”
“We’re doing the suspect challenge and I’m making Joe do it too because I have something to tell him. Let me go get him, actually I’ll call him because I don’t feel like walking.”
“Lazy ass. But what do you have to tell him?”
“I will put you out of my house if you don’t shut up. And I have to tell him about this.” You told Ja’Marr and showed him the picture that had been in your pocket as you clicked on Husband in your phone and Ja’Marr’s eyes went wide.
He answered on the third ring which had you confused.
“Hmm? Ignoring me, husband? What took you so long to answer?”
“Baby, I literally spent the ENTIRE morning with you besides you leaving earlier. I just wanted to look at film for an hour and I told you then you could have me for the rest of the day and it just so happens that I’m finished.”
“Good, come upstairs and pay me some attention.”
“What kind of attention? Like? Are you naked right now?” Joe asked as he whispered the last part and your eyes went wide.
“NO! Your best friend is here…. Again I might add talking about he's ready for lunch and getting on my last nerve as usual.”
“Don’t listen to her Joe!” Ja’Marr yelled and you immediately pinched him.
Joe’s laughter boomed through the phone as you could hear his footsteps coming up the stairs. Once he reached the top step, he hung up and made his way to the living room where both of you were to see Ja’Marr now deep in a bag of Doritos and leaned down to kiss you.
“Wait, where did those come from?” You asked him as he was crunching in your ear because he hadn’t moved from his spot on the couch and you didn’t remember buying any Doritos.
“The grocery store.”
“I will…. One of these days I am going to beat your ass for that smart mouth you have. But anyway everybody up and outside!”
“Why?! It’s our bye week! I want to relax!” Ja’Marr whined as Joe was just standing there.
“Because I said so and I’m the boss. We’re doing the suspect challenge.”
“NO.” Joe immediately protested and tried to run away, but you quickly grabbed him by his waist.
“YES! You are doing it and I don’t want to hear any complaints. You two outside, NOW.”
The three of you were now lined up on the pavement in your long driveway and you were up first as you handed Ja’Marr your phone to record it.
“You ready?” He asked and you simply nodded as you took off running.
“Suspect has the attitude of someone who is 6’5, but she’s only 4’11.”
You stopped running as he finished while Joe was trying not to laugh.
“AND?!?! The two of you would crumble without me. Give me that phone. Ja’Marr, you’re up.”
“Be nice to me now.”
“I’m never nice to you anyway, so why would that change? Anyway, start running.” You told him as you pulled down your sleeves because you were starting to get cold.
Ja’Marr did what he was told as you thought of something good to say.
“Hmm, the suspect claims that he comes over to see his twin sister, but is really trying to steal my man.”
“HE WAS MINE FIRST!” Ja’Marr exclaimed as you motioned for Joe to go next even though he was too busy laughing.
“You’re just another one of his groupies! Now come on, husband.”
“Here we go because I already know some wild shit is about to come out of your mouth.” He muttered and all you did was smirk at him as he started running.
“Suspect won’t let me hold it when he pees.”
“NOT YALL BEING NASTY.” Ja’Marr yelled as Joe was too busy laughing.
“Come on, babe. Just one time?!” You asked and your brother looked at both of you in disgust.
“No! And get over here because it’s your turn.”
“Make it a good one.”
“Suspect claims that she doesn’t want kids right now, but that didn’t stop her from wrapping her legs around me last night.” Joe finished and your eyes went wide.
You and Ja’Marr collectively gasped and all he did was pinch the bridge of his nose as you turned to Joe.
“No regrets, my husband is fine as FUCK. Just look at those frosted tips. I plan on wrapping…”
“OKAY, MOVING ON! SPARE ME THE DETAILS!”
“Ja’Marr don’t you want a niece or a nephew?” Joe asked him and he sighed.
“A smaller version of the two of you? I’m going to have my work cut out for me.”
Now it was Ja’Marr’s turn and he was smiling because he was waiting for you to tell Joe the news while Joe was going to record and he got into position.
“Suspect set me up with his sister and then proceeded to get mad when he found out that we were in a relationship and didn’t talk to me for two weeks.”
“AHT AHT! Because the two of you hid it from me! Nice try.”
“We didn’t hide it!” You exclaimed as Joe was getting into position for Ja’Marr to record him.
“You didn’t exactly tell the truth either. Anyway, moving on. Suspect is one of my best friends and because of him this is the happiest I’ve ever seen my twin sister even though the two of them make me sick.” As soon as he was finished Joe turned the camera to the two of you to show him leaning down to kiss you.
“Aww, that was cute. I guess you are okay, sometimes.” You told him as he rolled his eyes.
“Don’t make me take it back.” He told you as you took your phone back to record your brother.
“Suspect is the ugly twin who was found in a dumpster behind Popeyes in a back alley.”
“WE LOOK ALIKE, DUMBASS! And I just gave you a nice one!”
“YOU’RE ADOPTED! So I don’t know what you’re talking about! And I fed you this morning and that was nice of me! I could have let you starve!”
“I got one for you babe.” You told Joe and he nodded as he began to run.
“Even though suspects claimed that I don’t want kids right now, he’s in for a surprise because I took a pregnancy test two days ago and it was confirmed at my doctor’s appointment this morning. He’s going to be a father of not one, but two little Burrows.”
Joe immediately stopped and turned to you with a look of disbelief on his face.
“Are you serious? Baby, are you serious?” He asked as he couldn’t stop himself from smiling.
You nodded your head and proceeded to take out the sonogram picture from the pocket of your sweatshirt and handed it to him.
He stared at it for a few seconds before he immediately picked you up and you had wrapped your legs around his waist as he was planting kisses all over your face.
“See? That position right there is why she has two in her. Good lord, I wasn’t ready for one mini version of them and now there’s going to be two?!” Ja’Marr said as he had taken your phone and was now recording you and Joe.
“They’re going to need to pay me if they want me to babysit.”

It's A Man's World
Chapter 6 (Welcome to Atlanta)
A/n: Just a filler chapter to be honest. Real action picks up the next chapter 😏
Warnings: None that I can tell
Likes and reposts are welcome also my ask is open just not doing any requests right now.
No matter how many times I replayed the moment in my mind, disbelief still lingered in my heart. Joe, in a roundabout way, had just extended a rather unexpected invitation—was he really asking me out on a date, regardless of whether I made the World Series? As the season drew to a close, I found myself wishing it would come to an end even faster.
As I stood at the podium during the pregame press conference, anticipation buzzed in the air around me. One of the interviewers leaned forward, a bright spotlight illuminating his eager expression. “So, how are you feeling before your first home game?” he inquired, his voice brimming with excitement.
With a mix of nerves and determination, I replied, “I’m feeling great. I won’t lie; the butterflies are definitely there, but I’m ready for this moment.” My tone was confident, masking the slight tremor in my hands.
The next reporter chimed in, “Your last game—you were 3 for 4. What was going through your mind each time you stepped up to the plate?”
I chuckled, shaking my head at the absurdity of it all. “Honestly, I wasn't thinking much at all,” I said with a playful grin. “I was just hoping I could hit a ball that would bring in a run,” I added, my nod punctuating the laughter that filled the room.
Then, another reporter posed a question that made my heart swell, “It’s well-known that you, Joe Burrow, and Ja'marr Chase attended college together. What was that experience like, and how does it feel to see them thriving now?”
A wave of nostalgia washed over me as I reminisced. “Oh, it was such a blast! They graduated just a year ahead of me, but even back then, I knew they were destined for greatness. And now? It’s incredible to see them shining in their careers. I’m genuinely proud of both of them,” I said, my voice tinged with warmth and admiration.
Curiosity sparkled in the reporter’s eyes as he asked, “What was their reaction when they found out you were participating in the combine?”
I scratched the back of my neck, a sheepish smile forming. “I didn’t actually tell them,” I admitted, as chuckles rippled through the crowd. “But somehow, they found out anyway, and… let's just say I ended up buying the first round of drinks,” I said, laughing softly at the memory of our celebration.
The energy at Truist Park in Atlanta was electric, the cheers of the crowd echoing like thunder as we celebrated a stunning opening-day victory of 13-3 against the Diamondbacks. From the moment the first pitch sliced through the air, I felt an exhilarating sense of anticipation—Atlanta was truly buzzing, and it certainly did not disappoint.
Now, as I stepped into my new apartment, a place I could finally call home, a wave of contentment washed over me. I tossed my bag haphazardly in the corner by the door, the familiar clank of my keys hitting the table breaking the silence of the empty space.
With a soft thud, I collapsed onto the couch, letting out a deep sigh as I closed my eyes, attempting to untangle the chaos swirling in my mind after such a whirlwind of a day. But as I relaxed, thoughts of the whole Joe situation crept back in. Was he truly serious, or was this all just friendly banter? Was I overthinking every little interaction, or was there something more brewing beneath the surface? So many questions swirled around in my head, their answers just out of reach. For now, it seemed I would have to be patient and wait for clarity.
2 months later...
All-star week had arrived, but unfortunately, I wasn’t among the chosen players to participate in the coveted All-Star game. Still, I felt a wave of relief wash over me at the prospect of some much-needed rest before rejoining my team on the road.
This week also marked the halfway point of the season, a crucial juncture that implied if aspirations of snagging a wild card spot were to be realized, it was time to buckle down and hit the grind hard. Our record stood at a promising 32-17, leading us into the National League Divisional Championship Game, but the landscape of the season could shift in a matter of days.
With this little break that we humorously referred to as my "bye week," I had invited Mia down to catch up. The moment she arrived, she sauntered in with a bottle of wine, her spirited energy lighting up my living room. “So what's going on?” she asked, handing me a glass and settling herself onto the couch beside me, her eyes sparkling with curiosity.
“Girl, everything! But anyway, I have a date,” I teased, dragging out the last word to build suspense.
“Okay, with who?” she said, perking up at the mention of a potential romantic interest. “Is it one of your teammates?”
I shook my head, a smile creeping across my face. “Nope.”
She leaned in closer, her expression shifting to one of mischief. “Some rich ass celebrity?”
I shook my head again, amusement dancing in my eyes.
“Then who? Because I'm lost,” she replied dramatically, acting exasperated.
“Number 9,” I replied with a grin.
Her eyes widened in realization as the nickname registered. Number 9 was our inside joke for Joe, the charming player whose effortless grin had captured my attention on more than one occasion. Mia’s gaze bore into me as she processed my words. Finally, her excitement erupted.
“Final-fucking-ly!” she exclaimed, bouncing off the couch like a kid on Christmas morning. “How the hell did that happen so fast?” she asked, still trying to catch her breath from her outburst.
I laughed, the sound warm and genuine, and I began to recount the story of our unexpected connection and the playful bet that had sparked this new chapter.
“So either way, it's a win-win situation,” she mused, a thoughtful look crossing her face once I finished explaining.
“Yeah, in a sense, but I’m just not sure if it’s a friendly outing or an actual date,” I admitted, genuinely perplexed about Joe’s intentions.
“Let me tell you, he didn’t mean it in any friendly way. That boy has liked you since the day you walked into LSU; everyone saw it,” she declared, her tone passionate. “Every time you turned around, Joe and you seemed glued at the hip for a while; people thought you were already dating!” She took a sip of her wine, emphasizing her point.
The number of times we had brushed off those rumors had become a running joke. Yet here I was, finally starting to understand how people viewed our dynamic.
“Yeah, I guess it was just a matter of time,” I said, finishing off my glass and enjoying its rich flavor.
“Took long enough! Ja'marr owes me 50 bucks,” she said triumphantly, standing up and gathering the glasses to take them into the kitchen.
I chuckled softly to myself, recalling how my friends and I had joked about Joe and my chemistry. I knew I shouldn’t have introduced them; it had all spiraled a little too quickly, and yet, there was a thrill in the air that suggested maybe it was all meant to be.
I had just wrapped up an intense batting practice session, the scent of sweat and freshly cut grass lingering in the air, when my phone began to ring, cutting through the post-practice haze.
Incoming FaceTime call from Joe Burrr 🧡
A grin spread across my face as I pressed accept, and a moment later, Joe’s familiar face materialized on the screen, lighting up my day.
“Heyyy Joee,” I drawled, stretching out his name playfully, letting my excitement show.
He tilted his head back, letting out an exaggerated groan. “Please don't ever do that again, but hi.”
I pulled a chair towards me, the cold metal scraping against the ground, and settled in comfortably. “What’s up?” I asked, curiosity bubbling within me.
He shook his head, a hint of exasperation in his eyes. “Nothing much, just bored, so I thought I’d give you a ring. Are you at practice?” His gaze drifted to the vibrant backdrop of the field behind me.
“Yeah, I just finished batting practice. About to jump into some field drills soon, but I’ve got a minute,” I reassured him, feeling the warmth of our friendship.
“You sure? I don’t want to mess up your flow,” he replied, a note of hesitation in his voice.
I shook my head, a slight smile playing on my lips. “Joe, I will always have time to talk to you.”
A small smile crept onto his lips in reply. “Okay, okay, but I do have a reason for calling. When is your last game for the season?” he asked, genuine curiosity sparkling in his eyes.
Confusion washed over my face momentarily. “I think it’s October 2nd. Why do you ask?”
“Well, that’s the same day we’ll be in Atlanta,” he said, a hint of excitement creeping into his voice.
“You all facing the Falcons the same day?” I replied, piecing together the connection.
He nodded, an enigmatic smile gracing his features. “Yep. And I would love to see you there,” he said earnestly.
I made an exaggerated expression, anticipation mixing with disbelief. “How the hell am I going to be there and still play my game, Joe?” The prospect seemed absurd.
He chuckled, his laughter contagious, and then rolled his eyes. “Ri. It’s a night game."
The realization hit me like a ton of bricks, and I felt like the biggest fool on Earth. Of course, it’s a night game, Sierra; otherwise, he wouldn’t have called to invite you!
“I knew that,” I stammered, hoping to salvage my dignity.
Joe studied me for a moment, then burst into soft laughter, muttering something that sounded suspiciously like ‘Yeah, alright.’
“I’ll be there without a doubt,” I assured him, my heart swelling with excitement.
“Good. And don’t show up in any Falcons gear either,” he said, his tone turning serious as he shot me a pointed look.
My competitive spirit ignited, and I decided to push his buttons just a bit. “And if I do?” I challenged, a teasing glint in my eyes.
“Sierra, don’t play with me,” Joe replied, his voice dropping to a serious tone that sent a flutter through my stomach.
“I’m just kidding, Joe. Even though I still haven’t forgotten your little stunt, I’ll proudly wear your jersey,” I replied, a smile breaking across my face.
He fixed me with a pointed look again, the corners of his mouth twitching upwards. “You better.”

Tee interview!!!
Transcript below the cut:
for ease of reading: questions in green, the parts I loved the most in orange)
Q: How much do you enjoy being around Bengals fans because we know how much they enjoy being around you?
Tee: Uh, I enjoy it a lot, you know, umm, just... just especially when they started the -the Tee chant. So uh, you know, once they did that, I felt like we grew a friendship -I grew a friendship with everybody in the stadium and man, umm, they always show love so. Just I -my bad, I like to show love back to them, so, you know what I mean. So that's the type of person I am.
Q: I mean, we've seen you around town, not just at events, but you were at high school events -you were at a high school basketball game this weekend. How much have you just adopted Cincinnati as almost a second home?
Tee: Yeah, man, umm. I love Cincy. You know what I mean. Uh, the community, everything. And you know... it's like a second home like you said, and man, just... just everywhere I go, everybody always show love. So it's just like.. man, it feel like I'm back at Tennessee... So you know what I mean -it's just -it's just great.
Q: Speaking of showing love, your quarterback was everywhere [Tee chuckles] in New Orleans showing love for you to stay here in Cincinnati. What was it like for you to watch that and take that in?
Tee: Nah man, that's -that's -that's, you know, that's what it's all about. You know, umm, another -another brother looking out for his brother, and you know, umm, you can't ask for nothing more than that. You know what I mean, he putting that pressure on the front office and whatnot, but uh, we'll see, you know, umm. And I appreciate him and Ja'Marr, you know, for speaking out or -and doing things that make you, umm... because guys don't have to do that, you know what I mean, and you know, uh. It speaks for who they are as a person, so.
Q: I mean, they've been doing that since [audio cuts out]
Tee: [audio cuts out] crazy, but... I mean, you know we'll see. You never know what the future holds so.
Q: Ok, let me ask you this. Joe said that you guys have had discussions as a group about staying together. Is he correct that you guys have actually talked about this in a future where -not just you, Ja'Marr, and Joe- but also Trey, all stay Cincinnati Bengals?
Tee: Uh yeah, of course, uh. We all want to, you know, keep the core pieces what it is. You know, even with Mike Gesicki, you know what I mean. Umm. You know, just -that's a core piece as well. So. Obviously we want to build something here in Cincy. But you know, uh... it's not in my hands right now, so uh... I gotta do what I need to do and if that's - go to another team and -and, you know, that's what happens, so.
Q: Well, a lot of Bengals fans will be watching this, Tee, and they all want you to stay, you know that. What is your priority when it comes to this offseason and finding the best fit for you and your future?
Tee: Right now, umm... I'm just trying to stay away from it right now and you know, uh, clear my head and get away from the game, especially after this - after tonight. Umm, clear my head and get away from the game for a few weeks and then obviously in March, uh, that's when things start ramping up for me, umm, with the free agency coming up and then umm... I mean... Obviously, I would love to be here -in Cincinnati. I love it here, I love the city, I love the fans, I love -you know, the coaching staff and everything in the building, um but... Hey... Ah, it's not in my control.
Q: I asked you after the Denver game - I don't know if you remember this- I said 'do you think you proved your value to everybody inside the organization'? I think you proved your value to everybody in the league this year. Do you feel like it was your best year and do you feel like everyone understands now, the value you have at your position?
Tee: Uh, you know, uh, coming into this season, umm. You know, uh, last offseason, I -I thought I had my best offseason since I've been in the league. And, you know, I came in healthy and ready to go. And then obviously the injury before Week 1 was -you know, I was devastated. And then, you know, came back -that Washington game and umm, played pretty decent. And then I got injured again, missed a few more games and -you know, I was in my head a lot. You know, I had to go talk to some people, you know, and see what's going on and man, just... You know, that last little stretch, I played -I did what I needed to do and you know, it helped me out. And you know, I -I feel like, you know, I proved, you know, my worth and you know, umm. Yeah, man. So.
Q: Alright, it is Super Bowl Sunday. I know everybody watching this in Cincinnati is rooting for a team in particular tonight. You're one of those guys who's part of this rivalry [Tee: Yeah!] against the Chiefs. So when you watch this game -the Eagles and the Chiefs- will you watch it as a Bengals player, hoping the Chiefs don't win, or -you just going to watch a good football game?
Tee: Yeah, I'm definitely going to go for the Eagles. I ain't gonna lie, I'm definitely going to go for the Eagles. But, you know, uhh, obviously, they got, you know, they got former teammates of mine over there. And you know, one of my good friends, Deandre Hopkins. You know, it's the first time -his first time playing in the Super Bowl. So... if they do win, I won't be upset - but just for those guys, you know what I mean, and. But I'm definitely going for the Eagles 1000 percent. 1000 percent.

Things Are Changing
Pairing: Tee Higgins x Chase!SisterReader
Word Count: 1.3k
Warnings: Language and Ja'Marr being the ultimate younger brother. Mostly fluff though.
A/N: Someone requested more of this cute little universe so here ya go anon ♥︎
Tenderheaded | Main Masterlist | Princess Ti
.・。.・゜✭・.・✫・゜・。.
“I fucked up.” Tee said as soon as he got in the house.
With the groan Ja’Marr let out, he could tell his teammate was rolling his eyes.“Man shut up, you ain’t do shit.”
Tee shook his head and slowly looked around the corners of his place, making sure his wife wasn’t lurking behind any walls. “Y/n’s gonna kill me.”
“No she ain’t. How are you still scared of my sister? There ain’t nothing scary about her small ass.”
“That’s easy for you to say. I married into this family, yall shared a womb.” His brother in law snorted on the other side of the phone.
“Don’t be weird. Look you’ll be fine as long as you leave my name out of it.” Then he hung up.
Tee sighed taking a seat on the couch. His phone had gone black allowing for his reflection to look back at him. There was no way to hide it, the short hair was a very distinct look, especially on him. He hadn’t seen his hair this short since he was a kid, but the low maintenance it provided was needed for now. The only thing he was scared of was the shape of it, it definitely wouldn’t pass his forever beautician’s standards. But he did what he had to do.
‘Hopefully she’ll see the brightside.’ He thinks smoothing his hair forward just as the front door opens.
“Tamaurice, what the hell.” That’s a great start.
Tee turns towards his wife and smiles, hoping your favorite feature of his takes care of some of the blow. “What, you don’t like?”
You hesitantly walk up to the couch and touch his head. “It’s short.”
He chuckles and places his own on your belly, caressing the soft protruding skin. His favorite reminder of the love they share. Then he looks up at you with loving doe eyes, but is met with a slight pout.
“I did it for you.” He whispers gently taking your hands.
“I don’t get it. I loved your hair.”
Tee sighs and lightly tugs you down into his lap. “I know, but you wouldn’t have much time to do anything with it once our little princess gets here. I don’t want you to have anything to worry about except taking care of our baby girl. While you're doing that I’ll be taking care of you.” You smile as both of your hands meet on your bump.
“That’s so sweet and thoughtful of you.” Your soft praises are joined with wet streaks down your face. “Damn these hormones.”
He chuckles as you wrap your arms around your very loving husband. “For real though,” you sniffle. “This baby is beyond lucky to have you as her dad, and I’m forever thankful to have you as my partner.”
“Only the best for my queen and our princess.” Tee wipes away your tears and pecks your soft lips.
“Mmmm does that mean you’re gonna take care of my hair too?” A playful smirk grows on your cheeks as you pick at your dark coily puff.
Tee snorts, “baby you know I got you.”
“Good, cause whoever did this to you should be put in jail.” You grimace looking over his cut again.
“It’s not that bad mamas.”
You kiss your lips with both brows raised. “You know I can cut hair right? I didn’t do all those hours of cosmetology and barber school for my husband to come home looking like one of the three stooges.”
“The whole point was so you wouldn’t have to do it.”
“Yea well, baby’s not here yet so come on.” You stand from his lap and hold a hand out. “What?”
“We’re going to the washbowl and starting your wave journey today.” Tee shakes his head and takes your hand.
“You’re real possessive over my hair mamas.” He smirks now towering over your bronze figure.
You shrug, pulling his hand towards your in-house salon. “Duh, look what happened when you went out on your own! It looks like a blind person did it.”
“It was your brother.” Pause. You stop in your tracks then take a deep breath.
“Y-you let…JA’MARR’S DUMBASS FUCK UP YOUR HAIR! I need a minute, go to the studio.” Breathe bitch breathe.
Tee watches as you pull out your phone and start mumbling obscenities under your breath.
“Baby, its not worth it. You shouldn’t be stressing yourself out like this. Think about the baby.”
You shake your head, the plump frown on your face unmoving. “If she’s as stubborn as you, princess will be completely fine. But she would not let this bullshit slide, her uncle Marr needs to answer for his crimes.”
“I don't think she’d be that worried about my hair compared to how I’d feel if you went into preterm labor right now.” You turned to your concerned husband, his deep brown eyes yearning for you to take a step back.
“Baby, I’m only 7 months and some change.”
Tee’s worried demeanor immediately dropped as his eyes widened. Shit, what did I say?
“You’ll be 8 months tomorrow. Was I the only one paying attention at those OB appointments?” He snorted.
You scrunched your face and looked down at where your feet would be if not for your bump in the way. “I paid attention, I just have pregnancy brain duh.”
Tee slowly closed the distance between you and hugged you from behind. “Oh yea?”
“Mhm but don’t forget that before I was your wife, I was Uno’s big sister. So just because some things are changing around here doesn’t mean I just give up my sisterly privileges of yelling at my brother when he messes up.”
Tee chuckles and kisses the skin where your shoulder meets your neck. “Of course not, big sister for life.”
“Exactly you get it..” The words come out breathily as you lean into his kisses.
You feel him smirk against your skin and kiss the sensitive skin behind your right ear. “What about this, I’ll go to that bakery you like and get a cheesecake sampler box.” You immediately perk up at the mention of your ultimate pregnancy craving. “If you go over to that couch and sit your pretty ass down.”
He turns you around to see your face beaming with excitement.
“The big one?”
He slowly nods. “24 flavors with the 3 extra brownie bites.” So you went and sat your ass down.

“God this is all I’ve ever wanted in life.” You moan after biting into a slice of NY Cheesecake. Tee shakes his head in pure astonishment
“Cheesecake?”
“Of course not. A husband who’ll drive 30 miles to get me the best damn cake in Ohio.” You smile at him. “Bonus points for being the most amazing husband even before I got pregnant.” You dote pecking his full lips with your sugary ones.
“Aww thank you mama, now can I have a bite?” He smiles but you jolt back, the cakes that were balancing on your belly now clutched in your hands.
“Y/n.” You shake your head. “Baby there’s 26 slices left.”
“Okay and, your daughter called those.” You shrugged.
“Y/n you don’t even like some of those.”
As the soon to be mother you just point to your bump, “it’s not up to me babe. I’m just following orders.”
Tee kisses his lips then slouches into the couch. “Just following orders my ass, more like ordering my ass around. But nah I did this to myself, got the woman I love pregnant then a got a wack ass haircut. Oh yea I’m doing gr-
Before he knows it, Tee has a brownie stuffed in his face.
“Wuv woo.” He muffles attempting to smile at you.
You just shake your head and return to your own treat. “We love you too chocolate face.”
