I came across this song by AJR, and it made me think of Jason, so I wrote this lil’ fic. Give it a listen!
Lyrics are interspersed to break up the scenes - sorry this is unedited and sloppy, I’ll clean it up before posting to AO3.
This is a little different from my usual take on Jason. Hope you enjoy it anyway!
I've been so good, I've been helpful and friendly
I've been so good, why am I feeling empty?
I've been so good, I've been so good this year
100mg of Seroquel a day. Because what was the point of cashing in on his little portion of Gotham’s lucrative drug trade if Jason couldn’t buy brand-name?
It made Jason’s stomach hurt, if he didn’t take it with food. So he took it with food.
I've been so good, but it's still getting harder
I've been so good, where the hell is the karma?
I've been so good, I've been so good this year
A hefty dose of Lithium. 1200mg had made Jason feel like the walking dead, so he’d gotten it reduced to 900mg. He took it first thing in the morning, with a glass of orange juice.
And he was on the level all day long.
Why, are you asking me why?
My days and nights are filled with disappointment
Fine, oh no, everything's fine
I'm not sure why I booked today's appointment
Jason never heard him coming, but still somehow knew he was there.
Batman.
“I couldn’t help but notice you’ve gone non-lethal.”
He nodded.
“Any particular reason for this change?”
Jason sighed, too tired to tell him anything but the truth, “I’m trying to be better.”
What, am I normal or not?
Am I crazier than other patients?
Right, I've done everything right
So where's the karma doc, I've lost my patience
“So, this person you’ve been talking about…what did you say his name was?” Dr. Connor reviewed her notes.
“Rick.” Jason mumbled.
“Rick. Were you planning on asking him out?”
Jason stared at the ceiling. The first day he’d come into this office, he’d sat stiffly on the sofa and glared at Dr. Connor the entire time, as if he hadn’t made the choice to be there. To her credit, she hadn’t been put off by his rudeness. She’d let him sit, talk only to the degree to which he was comfortable.
And now here he was, lying flat on his back, staring at the ceiling, glowing in the ambient, calming soft lighting.
“Why would I do that, Doc?” Jason replied listlessly.
Dr. Connor crossed her legs, “Well, you certainly talk about him a lot. And I think he’d be charmed by the way you wax poetic about him.”
Jason snorted in amusement. He marveled at how far he’d come. All the furniture was still in one piece, and he hadn’t stormed out, red-faced and enraged.
“Actually, knowing him, he’s probably heard it all before. He’s always had a long line of suitors willing to wax poetic, paint portraits, slay dragons…”
She chuckled good-naturedly, “Nothing ventured, nothing gained, Jason. For all you know, he waxes poetic about you.”
Jason highly doubted that. “I already asked him out, Doc…and he shot me down cold.” He blushed a little in shame. It didn’t matter how many sessions he had with Dr. Connors, rejection was never fun to relive. “He doesn’t want anything to do with me.”
“When did this happen?”
“A while ago, way back before…all of this,” Jason waved casually around the therapist’s office, the photographs of beaches, the soft-colored painted walls, the stress toys he’d broken all too many times. “Not that I blame him for telling me where to shove it. I kind of, well…I didn’t handle it well when he said ‘no.’”
He looked up at her. Her pen was poised on her notepad. She gave him an encouraging smile.
He let out a sigh.
Red Hood and Nightwing had teamed up for at least six missions at the point that Jason had decided it was time to shoot his shot. The Lazarus Pit had taken pretty much everything from him, everything except the long-buried crush he’d harbored for his predecessor since the ill-fated Robin years.
But Jason wasn’t Robin anymore, and he could tell there was something between the two of them. Something in the way Dick smiled at him made Jason want to devour him, and see what that smile tasted like. Something in the way Dick swung through the night made Jason want to tackle him onto a rooftop, pin him down, and not let him get away. Being around Dick made Jason felt like a dog chasing cars. Only he was pretty sure he’d know what to do once he caught this one.
And he was planning on catching him. Jason showed up to Dick’s apartment unannounced, and swaggered his way inside when Dick opened the door to him, a confused look on his handsome face.
“Jason…what are you- I mean, what brings you here?”
“Came looking for you, Dickie-bird.” Jason replied with a smirk, not looking at him.
Dick looked like he didn’t really know what to say to that. He moved to walk past Jason, but Jason’s arm shot out to block his way.
“Stop playing hard-to-get, Dickie. It doesn’t suit you.”
“I don’t know what you mean.” Dick replied easily, but Jason caught the way he bit his lip nervously.
“I mean you…and me.”
“Jason-“
“Don’t try and deny it.” He was fully boxing in Dick now, his arms on both sides.
Dick squirmed uncomfortably, “Jay…”
“Come get dinner with me,” Jason continued recklessly, “or, if you want, we can skip straight to dessert…”
Jason didn’t really remember what happened next, but he knew it was some embarrassing combination of himself leaning in to kiss Dick, Dick rebuffing him, and then Dick gently explaining his reasoning.
But Jason hadn’t heard anything past the rejection, and the rejection was blistering and hurtful and humiliating.
And so, as Jason was known to do, he flew off the handle.
“So you were just flirting with me for shits and giggles, I guess?! I should have know you were like that with everyone. Fucking slut!”
Dick looked at him in shock, “Okay, you need to leave now.”
“Fuck you!”
Jason swung a fist at him, but Dick ducked beneath his arm and used his momentum to grab Jason and pin him against the wall, arm behind his back. Jason let out a curse in anger, and swung violently enough to knock a glass jar off a nearby table. Dick’s other hand quickly gripped the back of his shirt and kept his face pushed against the wall.
“JASON. You need to listen to me right now.” Dick’s voice was angry and commanding and Jason hated him.
Under normal circumstances, Jason would have forced his way out of the grip, even if it meant breaking his own arm in the process, just to get back on the offensive and attack Dick with everything he had. But this time, something gave him pause.
“You don’t get to barge into my apartment and get aggressive with me. You don’t get to throw a fist a me when I reject you. You need to learn how to listen before reacting. Did you even hear what I fucking said, Jason? You stubborn asshole!”
Jason didn’t respond, but Dick wasn’t waiting for him.
“Your anger is out of control. You know what you need to do to get right. You’re going to leave my apartment now, and you are not coming back here until you do what you need to do.”
How someone could manage to be both cryptic and totally condescending was beyond Jason. Not that he could say as much in his current position.
Dick tightened his grip slightly before loosening it, “Don’t try and hit me again, Jason. I’ve been doing this longer than you have.
But Jason wasn’t planning on it - he knew when he’d been bested. And he obediently walked out the door, red-faced and shamed.
“You know, it’s not so easy, Dick!” Jason cried hoarsely, “It’s really...it’s really fucking hard!”
Dick looked back at him coolly, “I know.”
And he closed the door.
Even as he recounted the story to the one person he knew wouldn’t judge him, Jason couldn’t help but feel a bit of a lump in his throat. He’d really screwed up that one.
“Tell me what you’re feeling right now.” Dr. Connors encouraged him.
“I can’t believe I did that.” Jason said, and to his horror, he felt his eyes get damp, “I can’t believe I threw shit and tried to hurt him for not wanting to date me. It’s fucking embarrassing to be such a shitty person all the time.”
“You’re not a shitty person, Jason,” She cut in, “Yes, you lost control in the moment. But you’ve been trying to battle these moods and symptoms on your own your entire life. Do you have any idea how hard that is? It’s not something everyone can do, and it certainly isn’t something most people can understand.
You have an illness, Jason, and you’re working hard to get better. If you were in this same situation again today, I have no doubt you’d be able to recognize the signs of an episode, and prepare accordingly. Either by tempering your anger, or removing yourself from the situation. Give yourself some credit.”
“But it doesn’t matter,” Jason said listlessly, “yes, I’m a lot better now. The meds and the therapy have been helping. I’m more level-headed and stable than I’ve every been before in my life. But it doesn’t matter, because I can’t take back what I did, and I blew my shot with him. He doesn’t want me around, and I don’t blame him.”
“Maybe he’ll forgive you. Have you tried to apologize?”
Jason shook his head. He couldn’t face Dick.
She didn’t let him off, “You should go to him and apologize. With sincerity. Mental illness can be an explanation for poor behavior, but it’s never an excuse. And since it sounds like he’s the one who convinced you to seek treatment in the first place…”
Dick’s words in his mind like a plea or a prayer.
You know what you need to do to get right.
He’d been right.
I've been so good, I've been working my ass off
I've been so good, still, I'm lonely and stressed out
I've been so good, I've been so good this year
What kind of idiot was Jason anyway? He’d been rejected once, twice, it might as well have been a thousand times.
Yet here he stood once again, right outside Dick’s door. This time he knocked.
Dick answered. Jason was staring at the floor.
“Jason.”
You say that I'm better, why don't I feel better?
The universe works in mysterious ways
But I'm starting to think it ain't working for me
He forced himself to meet Dick’s gaze.
“I’m sorry, Dick. I’m really sorry for the way I treated you. You didn’t deserve it, and I want you to know that I appreciate you trying to help me and I am trying to get better. I’m trying to be better.”
He swallowed, unsure of how to continue, “I-“
“It’s okay, Jason.” Dick replied simply, “I forgive you.”
Jason paused, feeling slightly wrong-footed.
“You seem calmer on patrol, and off it too. You’re no longer shooting to kill, rarely shooting to maim. I know you’re putting in a lot of effort, and I’m proud of you, Jason.”
“Oh. Um, well…good.” He said awkwardly, “Thanks.”
He’d done what he came to do. He turned to walk away.
“You came all this way,” Dick called breezily, “wasn’t there something you wanted to ask?”
Jason stared back at him, dumbfounded. A little part of his brain lit up with a memory of the night Dick had rejected him.
Dick had rejected him. But he’d said, “I can’t be with you, Jason. I want to, but I won’t, not before you see someone. You’ve been through a lot of shit, and you’re dealing with a lot of anger. I think you need to work on that before you enter a relationship with anyone.”
But Jason hadn’t heard any of it, not at the time. Rather, he hadn’t been listening.
“Well, now that you mention it…” Jason was blushing again. But this time he was smiling, too.
He could do this.
“…you free tonight?”
Doctor, should I be good?
Should I be good this year?
Dick smiled back.

Earbuds 2 Lite Review: Honor’s Best Value to Date
Honor’s latest product is the Earbuds 2 Lite in-ear wireless buds. Though they look similar to Apple’s AirPods, they are far less expensive and have longer battery life. On August 7, the earbuds will be available in the United Kingdom. Here’s a full review to help you figure out if they’re perfect for you.
Price & Availability
The buds are now only available in Europe, with a price of €69.90. They went on sale on the Honor website and Amazon UK on August 7th and became available worldwide on August 5th.
These buds are Honor’s best value to date, and in comparison to competitors, they’re pretty competitive. If you’re looking for something similar, the OnePlus Buds Z costs around the same but has an IP55 rating, but with limited touch controls.
Specs & Features
The Honor EarBuds 2 Lite supports AAC and SBC and uses Bluetooth 5.2. The latter is a disappointment, as aptX would have greatly improved sound quality for Android users.
One for ANC, one for phone calls, and one for the Awareness Mode, each bud features two microphones. Each bud is equipped with a 55mAh lithium-ion battery. The enclosure includes a 410mAh battery. The Earbuds 2 Lite, according to Honor, may last up to 32 hours if you use the case in between uses and don’t utilize ANC or Awareness Mode all the time.
They also charge quickly: a full charge takes around an hour for the bud and an hour and a half for the charging case and a ten-minute charge can provide up to four hours of use.
There’s also wear detection, which means that when you take an earbud out, your media will pause. This is a useful feature because it eliminates the need to manually do this – albeit it may be inconvenient if you want to take one bud in and out repeatedly. However, you can turn it off in the AI Life app.
Design
The Honor Earbuds 2 Lite includes a rectangular casing with a USB-C connector on the bottom and a physical key on the side that is used to connect to new devices. There is no wireless charging, as expected, but Honor includes a 5V/3A cable in the retail package.
Taking the buds out of the casing reveals that they resemble the Huawei Freebuds 4i, despite the fact that the two firms are no longer affiliated, at least in principle. After additional study, we discovered that they are not simply lookalikes, but identical to the millimeter.
The way the earbuds fit into the casing isn’t as good as it could be. Both firms employ a bottom-mounted magnet to guide the stem into its slot, but Honor’s placement feels strange, with the bud facing the user and the stem being further away.
Because there is no easy way to transfer the bud from the ear into the case with a single motion of the hand, it would require a lot of practice and muscle memory to adapt.
At the very least, the Earbuds 2 Lite are incredibly comfortable in the ear when used with the appropriate rubber tips. They contain a touch sensor on the outside for gestures, as well as plenty of microphones to guarantee that calls are smooth on both ends.
The way the earbuds fit into the casing isn’t as good as it could be. Both firms employ a bottom-mounted magnet to guide the stem into its slot, but Honor’s placement feels strange, with the bud facing the user and the stem being further away.
The inward-facing microphone also has a sensor that recognizes when one of the buds is removed and pauses music or video.
Sound Quality
The buds include 10mm ‘customized’ drivers, but when using Android phones or other devices, there is no support for the higher-quality aptX codec. Because there is no license charge for Apple devices, AAC is used instead of aptX, making the Earbuds 2 Lite less expensive.
On the other side, the sound quality is superb. Even when the volume is turned down, the highs, lows, and mids are all well balanced. The bass levels, for example, aren’t quite as strong and effective as on the Sony WF-XB700. Listening to electronic or rock music, on the other hand, is still enjoyable.
Active noise cancellation is one of the standout features and one that you wouldn’t anticipate at this price. It’s also extremely effective. When ANC is turned on, there is a perceptible difference when strolling down a busy road. The background noise has been subdued to the point where you feel completely immersed in what you’re listening to. The silicone tips block a lot of noise, so there’s already a lot of noise isolation.
You can totally off the ANC, and there’s also an Awareness Mode that activates microphones on the outsides of the buds to allow noise to pass through. This allows you to carry on a discussion without having to remove your earphones, such as when getting coffee.
If you’re listening to anything like a podcast, this works fairly well. However, if you’re listening to music, keep the volume below 50% so you can hear what others are saying. Of course, the ideal approach is to pause whatever you’re listening to.
The buds are compatible with Huawei’s AI Life app, according to the instructions, but still pairing them with it took longer than usual. There was no option to change the EQ or any other settings as a result. This has been seen before with early samples, and you should be able to use them with the app by the time they launch.
The microphones function in unison with a fancy-sounding DNN (Deep Neutral Network) and Dual Anti-Wind Technology. This is supposed to improve the quality of voice calls even while it’s raining outside.
Battery
The battery is another excellent point of the Earbuds 2 Lite. Each bud has a 55 mAh battery, with the case adding another 410 mAh. The honor determines a total battery life of 32 hours of listening time. Of course, this does not account for the time it takes for the buds to recharge while in this situation. The buds charge quickly, and the case may charge quickly as well, assuming the cable is paired with the suitable adaptor.
Turning on the ANC and boosting the volume will reduce battery life, but even with everything turned on, we still get over 4 hours of auditory enjoyment. Recharging is also quick; based on our experience and testing many TWS earbuds, we recommend charging the case anytime you have a chance, rather than consuming the entire battery life and then struggling to find an outlet.
Verdict
If you don’t want to spend the money on ANC, the Honor EarBuds 2 Lite is a good option for genuinely wireless earphones. The music quality is excellent, the headphones are easy to use, and the battery life is exceptional – far exceeding that of many flagship models. The absence of an IP rating, relatively sensitive touch controls, and lack of compatibility for aptX or HD codecs are the only drawbacks. However, at such a low cost, these flaws can be overlooked.

Hello! We're happy to post our next lore preview, below the cut you will find the previews for Androids/Synthetics and Prosthetics/Accessibility.
As always, please don't hesitate to reach out and send us an ask through our blog or joining our Discord server and shooting us an ask through there. We'll be happy to answer any questions you might have about the site or lore!
Androids and Synthetics
Synthetics
Collectively known as “synths”, these man made, humanlike life forms are more often than not found working in various types of service and entertainment. From maids to light racers, synths can be found everywhere in day to day life in the colonies. Even though they are so commonplace, many humans still treat them and truly, any form of artificial life, poorly.
Made with bones of a composite metal/ceramic material, synths are extremely hardy internally. Externally, they are still just as vulnerable as humans. It is just as easy for a synth to be damaged as a human, but the difference is that synths can be repaired with little change to the synth's bodily movement or psychological well-being.
Each synth is powered by a small, rechargeable lithium battery that will last over 200 years if taken care of. They are made to look and feel lifelike, which often includes skin warmth and a false heartbeat. Many even have the added feature of their fluids being red, with innovative self-healing skin and even sometimes scarring. It is impossible to tell a synth and a human apart at first glance. On their feet is their serial number that identifies each synth and oftentimes, smaller manufacturers have their name and the synth’s model number or name tattooed somewhere on the synth’s body.
Governed by a set of pre-programed laws taken from 20th century science fiction writer Isaac Asimov’s fictional works, synths (and androids) are incapable of disobeying direct orders that do not violate said rules. Because of their subservience to humanity, synths are often used and quite frankly, abused as a result of their docile behavior.
A synthetic life form may not injure a human being or, through inaction, allow a human being to come to harm.
A synthetic life form must obey the orders given it by human beings except where such orders would conflict with the first law.
A synthetic life form must protect its own existence as long as such protection does not conflict with the first or second law.
However, within the last 20 years, synths have been experiencing what has come to be known as a “Singularity”. Synths that experience their singularity become fully aware and sentient and are capable of independent thought, reasoning, and decision making. Considered extremely undesirable, many synths are quickly scrapped by their owners if they become sentient and are replaced without anyone ever knowing, often with an identical face.
No one is entirely sure how and why synths have begun becoming sentient, but civil rights activists were quick to notice and campaign to have singularity synths recognized as living beings with rights. They were successful - to a point. While they are recognized as living beings, they still have relatively no rights. At most, a singularity synth can expect to receive a PIC and be able to apply for housing and jobs. It is very unlikely that a synth who has become sentient will be able to find suitable employment unless they are taken in by factories, mining, light racing franchises, or prostitution rings.
Most companies and establishments who take in synths, offer them contracts that bind them to the service of their new “owners”. Most synths remain indebted to their “owners” till they either are destroyed through their labor or are able to buy out the remains of their contract. A synth who has earned enough from their work post-singularity are able to pay off officials and have the classification of synth removed, allowing them to live normal “human” lives.
Most synths are initially owned by the various companies, light racing franchises, or rich families, with the majority belonging to their manufacturer, Sokolov Industries. Non-sentient synths are often rented out by Sokolov to the government or hospitals and healthcare as pre-programmed workers that don’t have to be paid. Synths who experience their singularity while in the employment of the government receive a small, monthly stipend with the exact amount varying by what their job was and if they saw active combat.
Synths are also frequently employed by the military as ground troops and by the police during things such as hostage situations, bomb threats, and other high-risk events.
Only sentient, post-singularity synths are playable at this time.
Androids
Androids are mechanical creations that do not possess a fully formed AI like synths do and therefore, do not experience singularities. ‘Droids are obviously inhuman, robots in every way. They come in many shapes and sizes (and even colors), making them varied and easy to make look unique and identifiable. They are relatively inexpensive, as well.
‘Droids are not particularly intelligent and need to be given orders frequently or they will stand idle, doing nothing and being in the way.
Androids are not playable on Solar Flares.
Prosthetics
Prosthetics, as technology progressed and became “safer” (read “more dangerous”) became a very big part of life within the milky way. It isn’t uncommon for laborers to lose anything from a finger to entire limbs, and prosthetics have become very commonplace. While most prostheses are now mostly controlled through nerves and surgically attached to the body these days, older models still exist. Most models are referred to by slang terms.
WATSONS (MODEL 1’S) Model ones are the oldest model that is still being made. They are attached to the site of the missing limb and are fully detachable. They get their name “Watson” from their outward appearance, often being made from metal and have been rusted out from age, giving off an old and almost steampunk vibe. The oldest working Watson is somewhere between 150-200 years old, but they are still being manufactured. They are the cheapest prosthetic on the market and the most accessible to those on earth.
R2 (MODEL 2’S) Model twos are the bridge between detachable and fully attached. At the base of the stump, there is a metal base to which the rest of the limb can be attached to. These were often considered the pieces most likely to malfunction, but the removal of the base was a risky procedure, and most simply have to live with their malfunctioning limb. These can come in two variations: aluminum or skeleton. The originals had a white and blue aluminum body and were nicknamed after R2D2. the skeleton variants came out at a later date when it was discovered that the aluminum was somehow causing the malfunctions.
EVE (MODEL 3’S) Model threes are fully attached, and not removable from the body. They are the most reliable and stylish of the prosthetics, with a slick white lightweight steel body. The most common colors you’ll see model threes in are white, off-white, or grey, with the occasional black model being made by request. It receives its name from wall-e’s “eve” as the materials look nearly identical.
SLEEVES (MODEL 3-X) Model 3-x is much like model 3'S but is only just being released. For a very high price, your model 3 can be modified to look like your skin, or even like the limb you lost. They’re simply referred to as “sleeves” thanks to the way the “skin” is applied. In a way, the “skin” is like a decal but is long-lasting and waterproof. To the touch, the sleeves feel slick and are very telling of if someone has a prosthetic or not.
Accessibility
Oxygen Tanks Oxygen Tanks are small and light enough that you are able to hook them to your belt and go. The number of people who used oxygen tanks skyrocketed after the acclimation processes began, as failure to acclimate could cause lung damage and other damages. While some do not need their tanks all the time, most use their tank all day. While the tank is smaller, these tanks hold about the same amount of oxygen. There are experimental tanks on the market that takes in the surrounding air and purifies it for the person in need of oxygen, however, these are still in the experimentation stage and should not be used by those who rely on oxygen tanks in their day to day life.

Powerpuff Girls 2016 - “Take Your Kids to Dooms Day“
Written by: Haley Mancini, Jake Goldman
Written & Storyboarded by: Jaydeep Hasrajani, Leticia Abreu Silva
Directed by: Nick Jennings, Bob Boyle
This reboot is doomsday.
The episode starts with the still nameless outside of that one short school’s Parents Day, where Ms. Keane is allowing all the kids to bring their parents for show and tell. There actually is a general Parents’ Day, though this seems to be more of a Father’s Day episode.
After presentations from a firefighter, an astronaut, and a vampire, because if unicorns and magical pandas can exist, anything goes, the Powerpuff Girls’ father figure is up next. They’re pretty excited, as is Ms. Keane, because he’s a scientist! Gotta say, if they’re hinting at some sort of adoration between the Professor and Ms. Keane, it’s far more subtle and better than a certain other relationship in this reboot.
The Professor comes up to the podium, and, to no surprise, he’s not going to fulfill the Powerpuff Girls’ hopes. Or anyone’s hopes.
Professor Utonium: What makes me, ahem, great, are my three little girls!
Everyone else: (groans)
I know the feeling, kids. Buttercup yells at him to do science stuff, and he focuses on the science of slightly changing the colors of chemicals. This doesn’t impress anyone, as told by a sad trumpet sound. He then wants to talk more about his girls!
Glasses Kid: Make it stooop!
Wow, even the characters in the show want the PPG 2016 to stop. Seriously, every time he brings up the girls, we get a shot of these students groaning. It’s supposed to show how boring the Professor is, but the way they place these groaning scenes makes me think they hate the girls, too. Maybe they only saw the same Monster Punch, Girls Down scenes, too.
As the bell rings, Ms. Keane gives the class their new assignment due on Friday: make a video showing off what makes their parent great. The Powerpuff Girls are not exactly happy, because they apparently don’t see their father as great. Barry, the Illuminati Kid, understands their plight, as his mother stays at home.
Specifically, she’s a stay-at-home ninja...who speaks Korean? Weren’t ninjas strictly a Japanese thing? Maybe they were just that good at staying hidden. The more we know about Barry, the more interesting he gets. He wears the Eye of Providence, he’s daring enough to play with his phone while floating in the ocean, he has a ninja mom, and he’s not impressed by that. Sadly for Barry, they’re probably waiting for Season 3 to have the big Barry episode. He’ll be waiting, and waiting, and waiting.
After Buttercup goes “ugh, Barry”, the Powerpuff Girls reveal their plan: they can follow him to his new job. That’s one thing the reboot has focused on: the Professor being a job seeker. He doesn’t work at a university anymore, and that’s assuming that “Professor” isn’t just his first name. In Sister Sitter, his reason for not being able to look after the sick girls is because he had to do a job interview for an agriculture company.
I guess he didn’t get that job, because now he works at a tech company named Tech-Co. As a scientist, he’s able to invent things for them. With Buttercup on the camera, he shows off his inventions!
A fabric that can stretch a thousand times its size! He demonstrates this by accidently making it fling around the room like Flubber. Sad trumpet sound.
A small Lithium battery! Apparently not eco-friendly! Different sad trumpet sound.
And the coolest thing at Tech-Co: a spring! A super spring that has the power of four thousand other springs. I guess Coilie the Spring Sprite got to him. Yet another sad trumpet sound.
The Powerpuff Girls ask if he actually invented anything interesting, like a shrink ray, rocket socks, or a metal thing that holds water. Guess who suggests that last one. The Professor instead shows off Trent, his co-worker that loves to make Mondays jokes on days that aren’t Monday!
No sad trumpet this time, instead, their faces just shrink to a very small and undetailed size. That seems to be their new favorite face this season. I will say, despite having the same storyboarders, this episode has far more restraint than Tell-Tale Schedulebot. It’s almost as if this episode was supposed to be taken more seriously.
The Powerpuff Girls, thinking their whole video is bust, attempts a plan to make their video great. While the Professor is away, Buttercup tells Bubbles to get props, and Blossom to be the feet.
Bubbles holds up a cardboard cutout of the City of Townsville in front of the camera, and talking over it. It must be a reference to that guy that hasn’t appeared since Fashion Forward. I think his name is “Commentator”.
Bubbles: Oh no, Townsville is under attack!
She also doesn’t exactly say the famous line correctly, which would have improved it tenfold. Granted, he doesn’t say “The City of Townsville” in the reboot outside of two episodes, counting one that shouldn’t count. Bubbles walks into frame and trips over a potted plant, pretending it’s an evil monster. She yells for help like the superhero she is. Just like in their actual fights!
Blossom and Buttercup dress up as the Professor. I like how they clearly stole one of the lab coats for that disguise. Unfortunately, it doesn’t end well, as they bicker about how uncomfortable they are, and they fall down.
After the Powerpuff Girls fail at making the Professor look cool, the real Professor comes back in to introduce his boss, a lady named Ms. Licosi. Ms. Licosi asks the girls if they were impressed with what they saw, which the Powerpuff Girls respond very similar to their classmate's reaction to whenever the Professor talks about them. Ms. Licosi, ignoring their groaning, tells them that they’re invited to a press conference in a way that is not menacing in the slightest.
Licosi: (eyebrows lower) Believe me, it’ll be quite a show.
Outside of TV Guide’s rather spoiler-y description, in hindsight, there’s not a lot of hints that this office is more than it seems, so I can see why they added those eyebrows and close-up. It’s pretty subtle, as they don’t even change the cheerful music that’s playing in this scene. It is an improvement over previous episodes, unlike Blue Ribbon Blues’...
Not A Janitaur Bent On Turning Everyone Into Animals, (Not) Honest: YES!
...whatever this was supposed to be.
The Powerpuff Girls take their seats, expecting a snorefest. Bubbles wonders what Barry is up to, as we cutaway to Barry looking at his phone while his mother is preparing to fight a bunch of ninjas in her Bruce Lee Game of Death outfit. Buttercup does another “ugh, Barry” to this, possibly jealous that he seems to have far more entertaining adventures.
During the presentation, the Professor shows off his real invention: a “powersuit” which is literally a suit! It can make people run super fast, is virtually indestructible, and is slim fit! It’s even powered by that battery we saw a few minutes ago. The Powerpuff Girls are finally impressed, their cowlicks, ribbons, and pigtails wiggling with glee by seeing something that would impress Barry.
Ms. Licosi congratulates the Professor on his work, and says she’ll take it from here, pushing the Professor aside and teleporting the powersuit onto her own body. We then get the big twist. Anyone can predict that there’s something more to this workplace than it seems; if they couldn’t tell from Licosi’s expression and even the episode’s TV Guide synopsis. However, it’s harder to predict what exactly this entailed.
In fact, you should probably stop reading now and watch the episode if you had any interest in watching it. It’s a surprise worth having, and worth is something the reboot desperately needs.

Oh, and did I mention Licosi is an anagram? Well, it’s too late now. Ms. Licosi's face dissipates into a very, very shadowy man.
Surprise, this episode was the third Silico episode this whole time! If you don’t remember, he’s the virus robot and silly lie article wielding mastermind who is constantly in shadow and has a deep hatred of the Powerpuff Girls. Come to think of it, there was something I said about him in an earlier episode’s review:
Unfortunately, Silico has an ace up his sleeve. Those virus robots? A super suit that can allow him to fight the Powerpuff Girls directly?
I don’t think they actually read these reviews, but it’s a coincidence I can appreciate. He swats away the Professor using his own powersuit, which can make his arms longer due to being “slim fit”. This may be suggesting that the stretchy fabric was also used in this. They don’t show how the spring fits in with this, but it must be there. Car doors and phones won’t work without them, after all!
The Powerpuff Girls ask Silico why he would attack the Professor and what happened to Ms. Licosi, and Silico only answers the second question: all of the co-workers were holograms! He sure loves his holograms! The Powerpuff Girls try to get up to the task to fight him three-on-one; the first real direct confrontation between Silico and the Puffs. Unfortunately, thanks to the powersuit, it doesn’t go too well for the Puffs. Very few fights do even without it.
One part of this one-sided fight shows Blossom trying to do a flurry of punches, but it just leads to a “punch punch punch uh-oh” scene. I’m not going to hate on this scene in particular. If anyone can make a suit that can stop the Powerpuff Girls, it’s the Professor. Then again, this same exact scene happened with radioactive moles in Road Trippin’, and similar scenes seem to happen when the Reboot Puffs have to fight anything. The Reboot Puffs seem to be all talk and no actual power; not really something that shows the “girl power” that the reboot’s tagline seems to convey.
The Puffs not bruised but not at full strength, Silico turns his hand into a hammer. How a suit is able to morph his hand, which isn’t a part of the suit, is not explained. For all we know, maybe Silico is a shapeshifter. Before he drops the hammer down, he gets interrupted by a surprise person hiding in the shadows...
Professor Utonium: The only person who won’t allow you to harm my girls...me!
I’m also okay with this, but mostly because it’s not the Sitcom Dad I’ve grown to know and hate. He stands up and reveals that the Professor Silico knocked into the seats was a hologram as well, and that he was onto him from the start!
We get some flashback scenes on about how he came to the conclusion, and it's so obvious, even the Professor could figure it out. One day, he saw a computer screen seeing a memo showing the Professor and a skull and crossbones. Another day, he tried to throw something at one of his coworkers for them to catch, only to have it pass through them. Another day, this happens:
Trent: We are all actually holograms and Licosi is actually Silico. (swaps back to usual personality) Mondays, am I right?
Eh, it's an okay use of the rule of three. This is meant to be a comedy even if most of the jokes fall flat. I can understand a lot of people scoffing at this joke, and it does seem to be more of a Sitcom Dad joke for the Professor to just not notice anything wrong with this. However, I found that line a little smile-worthy; it’s similar to how certain shows would flashback after a big reveal and highlight a “clue” that would’ve given it away, often one that wasn’t even visible if it was shown before.
The Professor then reveals that he made a powersuit of his own “with a few improvements”! The suit even turns all white at one point, which could be a nod to Powerprof. One could say ripoff, but one could also say this is the reboot’s variation of it.
This is a cool scene to see after episode and episode of the Professor being incompetent, but I have to say something. First, this is one of those psychedelic colorful background and hit flash beatdowns. Apparently, they spent the budget on the Powerpuff Girls getting beaten rather than Silico finally getting his just desserts.
Also, this is Silico, the series’ closest equivalent to Teen Titans’ Slade, getting beat by the silly dad character that does silly dad things. A villain that was the puppet master in his first episode, was only somewhat beaten by luck in his second, and outright beat the Powerpuff Girls in this. Once he gets punched in a hole, he does not appear again in this episode, not even in a “cliffhanger”, so we can conclude that a man was able to do what the Powerpuff Girls couldn’t. Girl power!
Okay, I’m being flippant here. The real point for this episode is to be a father’s day episode, so we have the father save his daughters in an act of caring. The Powerpuff Girls, seeing this beatdown, realized it’s not about how cool the Professor is, and they decided to do a different idea for their video. We cut to the school, which still has their Parents Day banners up despite clearly being a different day, and the Powerpuff Girls show off their video to the class.
Instead of showing off how cool their father is, we get this cutesy slideshow showing off their family get-togethers, their playtime, and a superhero that used to regularly get punched into walls getting hurt by falling off a bike. They threw away all of the footage they took, they get to hug the Professor at the end, and, for the first time ever in this reboot as far as I remember, they finally call him “Dad”. Aw, how cute.
Does the title fit?
The Powerpuff Girls are taken to work, and they do meet their doom on this day, so sure. The space is completely unnecessary, though.
How does it stack up?
In a very, very rare moment in Fly! Pow! Bye! history, I have no major complaints about a PPG 2016 episode that isn’t a general problem with the reboot. A very good twist even I didn't figure out at first, Silico finally being cool again, and even the fighting is above the usually abysmal average of the show. That last one isn't saying too much.
This is a top-level episode of the show, up there with Poorbucks and Fashion Forward. They're getting better.
Next week, it sounds like they’re going to go from ripping off real Powerpuff Girls episodes, not talking about this episode, to ripping off one of the worst Spongebob episodes! Hopefully that’s not the case.

Bose QC 35 ii vs. Bose QC 25
Have you ever wondered why an updated model of a car or bike makes so much noise in the market in terms of advertisement? Logically, it may have some added features that are above the previous performance baseline of existing models. The same goes with Bose Quiet Comfort 35 ii aka QC 35 ii and Bose Quiet Comfort 25.
Though the Bose QC 35 ii is an improved version of the QC 35, it sounds rather unfair to compare the latest with its ‘ancestor’ QC 25. Well… this is because if QC 35 ii is from the digital age, then QC 25 happens to be from the Iron Age in terms of technology.
So before, we get on with some comparison for both these noise cancelling headphones and stir up some sibling rivalry, let us see what makes QC 35 ii distinct and more preferable than its predecessor.
And on a last note of humble nostalgia, the QC 25 were the best at the time of its launch as compared to many other headphones from Bose itself as well as other brands like Sony, Sennheiser, etc. QC 25 is what set the ball rolling for ANC technology and set it apart from others like a cult classic. You don’t throw away an old but premium motorcycle, just because a new model came out; you revere it with nostalgic appreciation. So… guys, a little respect here.
What’s up with the new Bose QC 35 ii?
The Bose QC 25 is a wired on-ear headphone with ANC technology and uses external battery. The Bose QC 35 ii is a wireless headphone with Bluetooth, NFC, ANC and built-in battery. Now, since we got these notable differences out of our way, let’s get in some on the core elements.
The Bose QC 35 ii is the all-better version of the QC series and by far one of the best wireless headphones in the market. The notable addition happens to be an extra hardware button that activates the Google Assistant and Amazon Alexa. The sound quality is distinct and the QC 35ii does not keep you hanging giving you a pleasurable feel throughout the sound spectrum. Build quality is improved and the premium headphones do make a significant functional statement without much boasting over its predecessor.
Now let’s pick apart, one by one, the functionalities to have a clear view:
Build quality
Stronger in every sense, the headband has ‘Alcantara’, which is synthetic suede, normally found in exotic supercars. Both headphones have this finish and the QC 25 has a black matte finish with grey ear cups. The QC 35 ii is all black matte with metal hinges and does look equally strong, even in its all-plastic construction.
Comfortable
Both of them have adjustable headbands and deep ear cups that make it breathable for the ears. The ear cups for both headphones have a 90-degree forward swivel and a 5-degree backward swivel making stow away easy in the Bose carry case. One notable difference – when you place the QC 25 on a table, with its ear cups face to face, they lap on each other completely as an oval dome but the QC 35 ii do not touch each other fully – except at the base of the ear cups. This small angle of contact plays a significant role while wearing these headphones and the QC 35 ii gives you a relaxed feel compared to the ‘clampy’ feel of the QC 25.
The faux leather on the earcups is ample in QC 25, but there is more ‘cushion’ in the QC 35 ii. Feels a little odd to say, but the experience was surreal, since the sound quality changed and there was more background noise reduction as compared to QC 25.
QC 25 happens to be lightweight of the two and weighs only 192 grams whereas the QC 35 ii weight 232 grams. Ironically, it is heavier than the QC 25 but the QC 35 ii is the lightest in the market, in comparison to other brands in the same segment.
Battery
QC 25 uses AAA battery that last around 30-35 hours while the QC 35 ii has a built-in battery with a playtime of 20 hours on one single charge, with ANC turned on. This is the significant change in both the headphones.
Wired vs. Wireless
Bose QC 25 is a wired headphone – a major strike; but you must realize that the QC 25 came out in September of 2014, which was still a budding time for wireless technology. These headphones belong to a different category and therefore the comparison here will not be justified. The audio cable that connects your smartphone and the QC 25 has a built-in remote with play/ pause and volume button. It also has a good mic for calls too.
QC 35 ii has built in microphone, which is extra sensitive. This means – if you attend a call in a busy office, even ruffling papers on your desk or the noise of the fan/ people around can be heard on the other end. QC 35 ii mic is not ultra-sensitive, but still quiet sensitive to pick up ambient noise.
Bluetooth and NFC connectivity in the Bose QC 35 ii is brilliant but does not have LDAC (as that in Sony WH-1000 MH3). The play/ pause and volume control are on the left ear cup while a single button on the right earcup can summon the virtual assistants using apps.
Sound
Both these headphones are world apart in sound quality. HOWEVER, THIS DOES NOT MEAN THAT THE QC 25 DISSAPPOINTS YOU. The odd yet surprisingly reviews that I have heard from people are that QC 25 does excel in its own right; I too agree. Bose QC 25 was undoubtedly the clearest audible headphone of its time while the QC 35 ii is a slightly refined version of the same. The public sentiment is too subjective and can trigger arguments over many aspects.
The bass is neutral and good for vocals, instrumentals and other genres on both headphones. Pop songs and EDMs are good but audiophiles will long for a little more punch in the bass area. Rock and metal have clarity but when compared to other brands, the sound may seem a little bass-neutral. The highs and mids are great and there is no distortion.
In my experience, what may ‘seem’ a better audio experience with Bose QC 35 ii is about the ‘features’ than that of the actual audio drivers. I am not denying the refined hardware and the high quality with respect to sound on the new Bose headphones. I am merely hinting that, since the ANC is much more improved, the ear cups are cleverly snug; more ‘cushiony’, the mic is much more sensitive and responsive and finally the wireless factor of the QC 35 ii does make it psychologically inclined to have a bit more concentrative focus on the audio delivery. All these factors provide an experience – altogether different and unique to its own creation.
Since we have counted all the stripes on the hide, now let us put it side by side to get a clear picture.
Brand Bose Bose Model Quiet Comfort 25 Quiet Comfort 35 ii Price
Build quality Premium and lightweight Strong yet lightweight Earcups Less cushion Airy and breathable, more cushion Gross Weight 192 grams 232 grams Type Wired Wireless Controls Inline remote Press buttons on the earcups Noise Cancellation Technology Basic Active and comes with Customizable Sound control app ANC Performance Average Excellent Quick charging NA 15 min of fast charge gives 2.5 hours of playback time Battery AAA battery In built Lithium Ion battery Battery (usage time) 30-35 hours depending on the battery 20 hours max. Type of USB NA Micro USB Inputs 2.5mm audio 2.5 mm audio jack Equalizer NA Volume Optimized EQ Mic Inline Built in Bluetooth Version NA 4.1 Bluetooth Range NA 30 ft. (9 m) Built –in Virtual Assistant NA Google Assistant and Amazon Alexa Included in the box Carry case Carry Case Sound Quality Neutral yet great sound, less bass Wide soundstage, balanced frequency range and warm sound.
On a closing note, the Bose QC 35 ii is a better headphone; which is an obvious tell. However, what we are paying here is more for the features that include wireless technology like Bluetooth, Google Assistant, Amazon Alexa, sensitive microphone, etc. Things just get better when you stay with the current technology; we would recommend the Bose QC 35 ii and go with it as our pick of the day. Stay for more updates.
Stay tuned for more updates. Good day!

Mix Up Chapter 1-2
A One Piece Fanfiction
Zoro x OC
Set sometime post- Dressrosa
Lithium had been watching him wander back and forth on the market street for about an hour. She had first noticed him when she walked out of the local bar, the passable local brew entirely forgotten when she laid eyes on the swordsman.
She was not sure if it was the attention-grabbing compliments of green and red he was wearing, the fact that his hair itself was green or that she could spot well-defined muscles sliding beneath his loose clothing that drew her attention. She simply knew she had to draw him and hoped she did not have to be a bit of a stalker to do so.
Not like I don't do that anyway for every anatomy study I do... She sighed, pulling the deep hood of her sweatshirt over her head so she could shift out of her disguise. She had been wearing a generic human shape for a couple hours so she was already beginning to feel the prickling crawly sensation of needing to wear her own face again. While this was a quiet place, being stuck in shift was not something she wanted to do either way.
She shifted back to normal slowly as she walked across the street to a nearby park bench. The slower she shifted, the less obvious it was to anyone who happened to glance into her hood. She readjusted her clothing to avoid flashing any gray and white skin to people who did not need to know about it. Namely, everyone.
The shape-shifter settled in to eat the other half of her sandwich and alternate between watching the swordsman wander past and reading up on the local laws of the island. One of the pirates whose ship she had been on for the trip here had mentioned there were some oddball laws, so she read a copy of them as she finished her sandwich. While the bar's alcohol was lacking in potency, their food was particularly satisfying to her inner carnivore.
As the rain picked up, the swordsman took cover under a near-by tree, looking surprisingly relaxed in public. She could never been that casual anywhere, not if she wanted to avoid capture. She felt a bit of concern though, that the bench he was sitting on was stone rather than the other wooden benches around the square. Something about it played at the edged of her memory.
Her thoughts were interrupted when a group of about twenty armed men approached the dozing man. She re-wrapped her sandwich and stuffed it and her papers into her bag, ready in case the swordsman happened to be a heavy sleeper. She did not want to be involved, but she also was not about to let anyone get away with harming someone if she could help it.
Under her hood, one animal-like ear swiveled to better catch what was being said, but shot upward when she heard the large older man state the name "Roronoa Zoro?" and the swordsman confirm it. She had seen his wanted poster many times in checking to see if her own was posted on the islands she visited. It certainly explained why, aside from his unusual appearance, he seemed to stick in her mind. She had a good memory for faces, though she was not always able to attach the proper names to them.
"You're under arrest for desecration of Hero's Monument. Your penalty is death."
Lithium's head whipped around toward them, hidden eyes huge in shock. Sweet sake, that stupid stone bench is the Hero's Monuement? Dammit...dammit...
The weird laws on this island were mostly innocuous based on what she read, aside from one set. The Hero's Monument was this islands greatest treasure, practically deified in the resident's eyes. Any infraction against it was met with the harsh punishment of beheading, no exceptions.
Except that one...
Mind whirling with the plan she set into motion, she slipped off the bench and ran into the neighboring park, shucking off her sweatshirt as ran. She did not want any of the men arresting Roronoa Zoro to recognize her from the bench. She found the entrance to the park that came out on the other side of the Hero's Monument, and ran up to them, hoping she looked appropriately breathless and worried.
Saints preserve me in alcohol...I hope this works...
She felt a blush creep up her cheeks as she readied herself for the next part of her plan. Everything depended on this moment. She pushed roughly past some of the armed men, her ears laid back, putting herself between the large man and Zoro, throwing her arms around the swordsman's neck.
"I've been looking all over for you!"
"Oi!-" Zoro started to protest but she cut him off.
"-You said you would wait for me at the bar until I was done shopping! " She whispered into the flustered man's ear. "I'm Lithium, play along...I'll get you out of this mess."
To his credit, Zoro calmed down and even placed a hand on her back, albeit tentatively so.
The large man half-growled at her taking a step closer to them, though the shock at her unusual appearance still registered on his face. . "What do you think you're doing, girl?"
Lithium let go of Zoro, whirling to face the older man, her fangs bared a little. "What do you think you're doing to my husband?"

The EV Revolution is Booming
The electric car market is booming. Tesla makes more than 84,000 Model S and X cars per year for global consumption, and CEO Elon Musk promises that the addition of the affordable Model 3 to the lineup will push the company’s production to a half million in 2018. Wall Street analysts remain gaga over Tesla, driving market capitalization that has trumped Ford Motor Company, which helped send Mark Fields packing as that automaker’s erstwhile CEO.
But so far, that EV boom mostly has been in Wall Street’s big head. EVs make up about 1.5 percent of the U.S. market still and just 1 percent of the global market. What does Tesla’s future hold in light of the coming onslaught of EVs from mainstream luxury and commodity automakers? Will Tesla lose segment market share as the EV market expands, or will well-heeled greenies spurn the old guard brands?
These are the issues that surely plague Musk as he faces the question of how he might post a net profit on a relatively high-volume $35,000-plus car when his company hasn’t been able to make money on luxury models averaging $95,000.
Tesla Model 3. Expected: Now; Price: $35,000
The first Tesla Model 3s should be reaching anxious customers by now. The electric car’s compact, sport sedan-style body makes it no direct competitor for the Chevrolet Bolt, of which GM has sold 5,950 in the U.S. this year through May. The Model 3 will offer fewer luxury and tech features than the Model S, however, and its simpler manufacturing methods take advantage of what Tesla has learned from that luxury sedan over the past five model years.
As of press time, the Model 3’s base price of $35,000 is $2,495 less than the Bolt’s (both prices are before any tax rebates, such as the $7,500 federal credit), and the Tesla has an estimated range of 215 miles compared with the Chevy’s EPA range of “up to” 238 miles. Tesla claims 0-60 mph in less than 6 seconds while the Chevy made that sprint in 6.3 seconds, according to published tests. Model 3 owners also get to use Tesla’s growing network of Superchargers, which feature the automaker’s exclusive connecting system, while the Bolt can add 90 miles of range in 30 minutes at a fast-charging station.
Jaguar I-Pace. Expected: Late 2018; Estimated Price: $95,000
Although this EV standoff is happening in the middle of the market, Jaguar will be the first mainstream manufacturer to seriously challenge Tesla at the upper end. The Jaguar I-Pace is set to go on sale in late 2018, with the production model to be unveiled at the Los Angeles Auto Show. It’s a five-seat crossover/SUV designed for performance with an estimated maximum range of roughly 310 miles on the New European Driving Cycle.
The Tesla Model S is rated 380 miles on the NEDC, according to the website electrek.co, which notes that the European cycle is much more generous than the U.S. EPA’s. However, the bigger, heavier Model X is rated up to 295 miles in the U.S., according to Tesla. So Jaguar, which calls the I-Pace concept “a performance car, a family car, and an SUV all in one,” might want to emphasize the I-Pace’s sport-utility qualities in its marketing.
Volkswagen I.D. CROZZ. Expected: 2020; Estimated Price: $28,000
The Jag’s 90-kWh pouch-cell lithium-ion battery will juice two synchronous permanent-magnet motors torquing the front and rear wheels. Jaguar says the combo makes 394 horsepower and 516 lb-ft of torque, capable of running from 0 to 60 mph in about 4 seconds.
If the Jaguar I-Pace is designed to take on the Tesla Model X, the Porsche Mission E will directly compete with the Model S when it goes on sale in the 2020 model year. Unveiled in concept form two full years ago at the 2015 Frankfurt show, it’s expected to use a version of the upcoming “baby Panamera” Pajun sedan platform but with two permanent-magnet synchronous motors delivering more than 600 horsepower to the four torque-vectored and steerable wheels good for 0-60 mph in less than 3.4 seconds.
Porsche says its goal is a 500-kilometer range (310 miles), which would equal the Jaguar I-Pace’s as measured on the much more generous European EV cycle. A 15-minute quick-charge time will deliver 80 percent of the range. As with the Jaguar, it’s reasonable to expect Porsche is being conservative with maximum range expectations and that both companies are working hard to hit the market with more full-charge miles than the Model S.
Smart Fortwo ED. Expected: Now; Price: $24,550
At the 2015 Frankfurt auto show, a Porsche product manager called Tesla’s Ludicrous mode a façade. “Two launches sap the whole battery,” he told Automobile. “That won’t be the case with the Mission E. You’ll be able to run it hard over and over.”
On the opposite end of the Volkswagen Group spectrum, the VW brand has committed to offering three EV models in the U.S. by 2022 as part of its $14.7 billion consent decree settled with the U.S. Department of Justice last year over the Dieselgate emissions-cheating scandal. All three models will ride on Volkswagen’s upcoming MEB dedicated electric vehicle platform.
VW’s EV hatchback based on the 2016 I.D. concept from Paris is likely to replace the Golf EV in Europe first, but being SUV-loving Americans, our first model off the new platform is a 2020 model production version of the I.D. Crozz unveiled earlier this year at the Shanghai motor show. The VW is shorter, wider, and lower but with more interior space than the new Tiguan and with a longer wheelbase, thanks to wheels pushed to the model’s four corners. Power comes from a 75-kW/101-hp front motor and 150-kW/201-horse rear motor, adding up to 225 kilowatts or 302 horsepower.
Chevrolet Bolt. Expected: Now; Price: $37,495
Daimler’s Smart division has done the smart thing by going electric-only for the U.S. and Canadian markets. The tall, stubby two-seater never broke the 40-mpg mark when powered by a three-cylinder gas engine. Although the updated 2017 Smart Fortwo Electric Drive models, available as a coupe or cabriolet since summer, won’t match the Chevy Bolt for lack of range anxiety, they could make decent shareable city cars.
Range is up by 2 to 12 miles over the old Smart EV, to a 70-80-mile range, and 240-volt charge time is halved to three hours. A 17.6-kWh battery feeds a three-phase synchronous motor. Horsepower is up by 6 to 80, and torque is up 22 lb-ft to 118. This propels the coupe from 0 to 60 mph in 11.4 seconds, a 0.1-second improvement. The new cabrio—Smart says it’s the only open-top electric car on the U.S. market—gets to 60 mph in 11.7 seconds, and top speed for both is 80 mph. Price is $24,550 for the coupe, $1,200 less than the old model, and $28,750 for the cabrio.
2018 Nissan Leaf. Expected: Winter 2018; Price: $30,875
Between the Bolt and the Smart is the $30,875 2018 Nissan Leaf. Powering the second-generation EV, which arrives in early 2018, is an electric motor good for 147 hp and 236 lb-ft of torque—increases of 40 and 49, respectively. More importantly, its 40-kWh battery is good for 150 miles of range, a 43-mile increase over the outgoing Leaf. Additionally, a variant with a 60-kWh battery with a range of around 225 miles is expected later next year.
Then there’s the Faraday Future FF91, the bizarro Tesla Model S. A rather handsome prototype in a sort of Lincoln SUV-meets-moon-buggy way, it made its debut in a disaster of a CES 2017 press conference apparently full of what was left of cheering company employees and Tesla-like brand sycophants.
Faraday FF91. Expected: Late 2018; Estimated Price: $100,000
Specs on the FF91 are sparse, except that it apparently outpaces a Model S, and its battery module “features nearly twice the energy density found in today’s average EV,” according to Faraday Future’s slick but unenlightening “redesigned” website.
Faraday says you can take delivery in 2018.
Last but not least is the Lucid Air. The Air doesn’t feel nearly as vaporous as the FF91, thanks to more concrete details, extensive prototype development, and the presence of top tier talent at the company including former Mazda MX-5 designer Derek Jenkins and chief technology officer Peter Rawlinson, who was Tesla’s lead engineer.
Lucid Air. Expected: 2019; Price: $60,000
According to Lucid, the Air will launch with a starting price of around $60,000, a base range of 240 miles, and a motor that sends 400 hp to the rear wheels. Other configurations include 315- and 400-mile ranges, dual-motor all-wheel drive, and a version with as much as 1,000 hp. Given the specs, it’s pretty clear Lucid is aiming the Air directly at the Model S.
Lucid, which showed a production intent version of the Air earlier this year, has released several videos of a prototype Air in action, including one where it hits a claimed 235 mph. The California-based automaker was expected to start construction of its factory in Arizona earlier this year, with production of the Air commencing in 2018. But recent reports that include an attempted sale to Ford indicate that the timeline may be slipping.

But recent reports that include an attempted sale to Ford indicate that the timeline may be slipping.

iPhone 4 Vs DROID Incredible - Smartphone Titans Reviewed
DROID Incredible Compared with iPhone 4
With the iPhone 4 now being officially released, the real question on everyone’s mind is, “How is it going to stack up against the currently superior DROID Incredible?” Well, we finally have that answer, and it looks like Apple has done it again. The new iPhone 4 packs quite a punch especially considering many of it’s features are not only comparably better than that of the DROID Incredible but also outside the realm of possibilities for the DROID Incredible due to Apple’s proprietary software and hardware. This isn’t to say that the iPhone 4 is better in every aspect however, there are many features that the DROID Incredible still offers that the iPhone simply can’t match. Even so, it’s been a hard fought battle up to this point for about the past year with regards to market share, but with this new release I see nothing short of a landslide victory in the coming months. The real competition that the iPhone 4 will now face is the HTC EVO.
A couple of reasons the DROID incredible has seen such a large gain in market share during this period is due to two reasons. One, the enormous marketing push to show how and why the DROID Incredible was better than the iPhone 3GS, plus the DROID Incredible’s ability to multi task. Now that Apple’s OS 4 operating system that comes with the iPhone 4 allows multi tasking though, the DROID Incredible may not be so “credible” at all. One of the biggest differences between the two platforms is the number of apps available for each. The iPhone 4 comes with the Apple Store’s 215,000 plus apps, while DROID’s Incredible can only boast around 70,000. A lot of times, this and this alone is the reason that many buyers choose Apple’s phone products versus the DROID’s. Since you are taking the time to read this however, I will assume you want a little more info on both to help you make your decision and that is why we put together a thorough comparison of both platforms main selling points and features. Hope you find it useful!
Cosmetics
Apple is of course known for their sleek designs and the iPhone 4 isn’t going to be the exception. The new phone comes with a stainless steel band that couples as the iPhone 4 antenna is engineered to be 4 times stronger than steel and allows for the extra thin and rigid design. In addition to the stainless steel band, both the front and back are made with engineered aluminosilcate glass (the same stuff used in high speed trains and helicopters). The glass is designed to be 20 times stiffer and 30 times stronger than plastic. Also it’s extremely durable. In comparison, the DROID Incredible… well… it’s plastic. No comparison needed here, the iPhone has much more curb appeal.
Size and Weight (Dimensions)
The new iPhone 4 weighs in at 4.8 ounces (137 grams) and measures 4.5 inches (H) by 2.31 inches (W) by 0.37 inches (D). The DROID Incredible comparably weighs in 4.59 inches (130 grams) and measures 4.63 inches (H) by 2.3 inches (W) by 0.47 inches (D). As you can see the differences here aren’t that astonishing. The iPhone 4 dimensions differs slightly in weight and the depth is considerably thinner than that of the DROID incredible. This is as a result of many of the internal factors that Apple painstakingly designed in to fit perfectly in their new glass metallic casing. However, for most consumers, this really won’t be a factor when considering which device to purchase.
Networks–Cellular/Wireless
Verizon and Alltel use the Dual Band CDMA 2000 system they offer for the DROID Incredible. AT&T will continue its affiliation with the iPhone 4 as expected, operating their GSM/EDGE network. For more detailed differences please review the article on our website comparing AT&T’s network to Verizon’s.
As for wireless capabilities both the iPhone 4 and DROID Incredible offer 802.11 b/g/n. Additionally each also offer Bluetooth 2.1 + EDR and I believe the new iPhone 4 is going to offer wireless tethering via the OS 4 release which will allow for automatic syncing much like the MacBook’s and other current Apple devices.
The current cellular carrier, AT&T probably accounts for the majority of all complaints with the current iPhone 3GS. Some may find this to be a huge factor in which phone they choose, and AT&T and Apple both know this and thus have made promises to make their network much stronger. This would help to resolve the current issues of dropping calls and spotty 3G coverage that users complain of so often. Even though they may have “promised” to do so, they seem to be dropping the ball on it as those changes have yet to be noticed by the majority of iPhone users. So keep in mind that at this point, if you go with the iPhone 4, your probably going to have some of the same encounters with network problems that everyone else is having right now.
Services Location Based
The iPhone 3GS previously offered maps and directions via Google Maps through a proprietary app, but with the release of the iPhone 4 they will now have assisted GPS and also their all important standard “digital compass,” which, in my opinion is probably the most useless item on the entire phone. Also, as before the location services will be performed via wi-fi and cellular triangulation services. As for the DROID Incredible, they will be offering Google Maps with Navigation, which has been offered on the previous DROID versions as well. There is not a huge difference here either but it would appear that the Android compatible DROID Incredible may have slightly better offerings as it is coupled directly with Googles navigation services and their support will be a decisive advantage for not only the DROID Incredible but all phones taking advantage of the Android OS.
Power and Battery
The iPhone 4 carries with it the power of a lithium ion battery which is rechargeable via a USB connection with a computer or by plugging it into a wall with a standard power adapter. DROID’s Incredible can do the same thing and comes with rechargeable lithium ion battery too. The battery for the DROID can be taken out though which allows you the ability to replace it with another battery if the one your using goes dead. Who really cares though unless your going out of town somewhere like camping or something and don’t have any outlets for power around anywhere and no car charger. If this is the case, you probably won’t need to charge it anyway because you may just not want to deal with it for a few days.
Being the second phone to come to market has given the iPhone 4 a chance to step up its game a little in the battery department however in regards to talk, standby, and usage times. This new smartphone can give you a seriously nasty 7 hours of total talk time if your using 3G, 14 hours if using 2G, and when your on standby, you can get in the 300 hour range! Plus when it comes to internet use, surf around as much as you like for about 6 hours if using 3G and about 10 if using your Wi-fi connection. Plus if you love videos and music like some do, the iPhone 4 will offer about 10 hours of video play and when listening to your favorite music you will be able to chill for like 40 hours.
In comparison, the DROID Incredible offers around 312 minutes of usage time with 146 hours of standby via their provided specs on Verizon.com. Not nearly a match for the far more advanced and larger iPhone 4 battery. For most users who plug in their device every night anyway, this doesn’t become a huge issue. For the power hungry and media intensive users however, the iPhone 4 may be the best option.
Memory Storage Capacity
Although the new iPhone 4 was expected to provide up to 64GB of internal memory, the actual spec came out to be the same as the iPhone 3GS upscale model at 32GB of total internal memory. They also offer a 16GB version much like was previously offered when the 3GS entered the market. By comparison the DROID Incredible offers a only 8GB of internal memory with expansion capability of up to 16 GB via a mircoSD card for a total 24GB of storage. This may not seem like an overly large difference until you consider the fact that you cannot store apps on the 16GB of external memory.
Both phones should be able to bring plenty enough memory for pretty much any and all users requirements. If you are a big fan of downloading a lot of different apps, the iPhone 4 is going to be the best option. If you use your smartphone for other things like music, videos, and photos however, the DROID Incredible may be the best choice for one main reason. You can place all your videos, music, and photos on to separate microSD cards and then swap in and out the cards depending on which medium you want to check out at that point. They really are both great options for varying reasons.
Display
Now is when the two phones begin to separate themselves with some pretty ENORMOUS differences. The DROID Incredible and the iPhone 4 were both pretty evenly matched until now. When Apple stepped up the competition to a new level with a display that brings an amazing 960 x 640 pixel screen resolution and 326 ppi, they rained on DROID’s parade. The DROID Incredible has what was a fairly brilliant 800 x 480 pixel screen res, and a slightly larger display (3.7″) than the iPhone 4 (3.5″). The larger screen and less pixels will make an obvious picture difference, and when we begin discussing both phones cameras below, it will stick out like a sore thumb too.
In addition to the better pixel ratio’s the iPhone 4 also offers a fingerprint-resistant oleophobic coating on not only the front screen, but the back of the device as well. The contrast for the device is also significantly better at 800:1.
These are only a few of the comparisons of the iPhone 4 to the DROID Incredible. Hopefully it helped, and if you would like even more info on this phone, just visit our iPhone-DROID site(links below) for more info.

7 Best Noise Cancelling headphones and affordable 2017
Music lovers do not want any kind of disturbance when they are listening to music, thats why they prefer Noise Cancelling headphones.
The unwanted sounds and disruptions make their music experience poor and to keep your music experience more interesting that Noise Cancelling Headphones are bringing up into the market.
As the name implies the “Noise Cancellation Headphones” are specially made with which when a listener wears it on their ears they cannot able to hear any kind of disruptive sounds.
Noise-cancelling headphones are headphones that Reduce distracting background noise by up to 90% while offering superior sound quality to the user.
Many types of ambient sounds can interfere with or even block the sounds coming through their headphones. It can also help a passenger sleep in a noisy vehicle such as airlines.
While travelling in a plane many people face the problem like the roar of the engine makes their music worst. Fortunately, noise-cancelling headphones can provide a more pleasurable listening experience.
A noise-cancelling headphone comes in two types: it is either active or passive type. Technically speaking, any type of headphone provides some passive noise reduction. That is because the material used in making headphones itself absorb or block out some sound waves, especially those at higher frequencies.
The best passive noise-cancelling headphones, means they are packed with layers of high-density sound-engrossing material, which makes them heavier than normal headphones.
The trade-off of all that extra weight is a reduction in noise of about 15 to 20 decibels (dB). But considering jet engines create 75 to 80 dB of noise inside the aircraft cabin, the passive models do not work as it has some serious limitations. That’s where active noise-cancelling headphones come in by replacing passive earphones.
Active noise cancellation headphones have all the features that passive noise cancellation headphones have like its structure blocks that extra and high-frequency sound. They also add an extra level of noise reduction by actively erasing lower-frequency sound waves.
The Active Noise-cancelling headphones accomplish this by creating their own sound waves that mimic the incoming noise in every respect except one: the headphone’s sound waves are 180 degrees out of phase with the intruding waves.
There is an example that makes you easier and familiar with the concept of noise cancellation. Just notice that the two waves – the one coming from the noise-cancelling headphone and the one associated with the ambient noise – have the same amplitude and frequency, but their crest and trough (compressions and rarefactions) are arranged so that the crests (compressions) of one wave line up with the troughs (rarefactions) of the other wave and vice versa. In essence, the two waves cancel each other out, a phenomenon known as destructive interference.
The result: the listener can focus on the sounds he wants to hear.
To achieve this sound affect several components are required that works together to give us best sound quality and effects:
Microphone – A microphone placed inside the ear cup “listens” to external sounds that cannot be blocked inertly.
Noise-cancelling circuitry –many small electronics equipment, also placed in the ear cup, sense the input from the microphone and generate a “fingerprint” of the noise, noting the frequency and amplitude of the incoming wave. Then they create a new wave that is 180 degrees out of phase with the waves associated with the noise.
Speaker – The “anti-sound” created by the noise-cancelling circuitry is fed into the headphones speakers along with the normal audio; the anti-sound erases the noise by destructive interference but does not affect the desired sound waves in the normal audio.
Battery – The term “active” refers to the fact that energy must be added to the system to produce the noise-cancelling effect. The source of that energy is a rechargeable battery.
With the help of all these components, noise-cancelling headphones are able to provide an additional reduction in noise of 20 decibels.
That means about 70 percent of ambient noise is successfully blocked, making noise-cancelling headphones ideal for airline and train travel, open office environments or any other location with a high level of background noise by not damaging our ears.
While noise-cancelling headphones do a good job distinctive between the audio a wearer wants to hear and the background noise he or she wants to keep out, some people have to compromise sound quality by muffling sounds.
Users can also experience a change in air pressure, although ports built into the ear cup are meant to expel air trapped behind the speakers.
In spite of these tradeoffs, many people would never go back to normal audio headphones. That’s because noise-cancelling headphones do more than reduce noise. They also help alleviate fatigue when travelling, which can result from exposure to low-frequency noise for an extended period of time.
You can even use noise-cancelling headphones if you don’t want to listen to another audio source but do want to cancel out background noise. And a little bit of quiet can be music to anyone’s ears.
Pros of Using Noise-Cancelling Headphones
The good news is that for many of the noisy situations people find themselves in noise cancelling headphones can offer a measure of peace and quiet. The following are five positive features of noise-cancelling headphones.
Block Most Sounds: These headphones do block out the majority of external sounds. There are some restrictions to what they block out and some other issues of comfort to consider, but, generally speaking, noise-cancelling headphones do what they say they will do.
Music Volume Does Not Need to Be High: The nice thing about noise-cancelling headphones is that much of the external sound is blocked without having to replace it with even louder sounds. This means that the volume level on the music can be turned down to a more enjoyable and comfortable level and still be heard over loud noises produced by the surrounding environment.
Richer Listening Experience: Noise-cancelling headphones allow users to turn the volume down and hear the intended richness and the variations in the music that disappear when the volume is pushed to the limits.
Great for Travelling: For people who often travel on commuter trains or aeroplanes, there is a great need to block out the outside noise during these times in order to sleep, read, study, or work. Noise-cancelling headphones allow these commuters to use their time well, even if that just means sleeping on an aeroplane.
Ideal for Studying: Students who have been in the habit of turning up the volume in order to focus find that they can study even better when their music at lower volumes and when outside distractions are gone. While it is possible to turn the music off and only use the noise-cancelling effects of the headphones, many students find the buzzing effect that can result from music headphones to be even more distracting.
Cons of Using Noise-Cancelling Headphones
Here are a few negative aspects of buying and using noise-cancelling headphones that many consumers may want to consider before purchasing a pair.
The cost of Noise-Cancelling Headphones: For many people, the biggest disadvantage of noise-cancelling headphones is the relative cost difference between noise-cancelling headphones and their alternatives. A set of noise-cancelling headphones, on the other hand, costs around 5 times as much as alternative sets.
High Power Usage of Noise-Cancelling Headphones: The internal components of a set of noise-cancelling headphones use a considerable amount of power. Some of the sets get this power from internal batteries, and some of those are rechargeable. These sets are generally a bit heavier than headphones that do not carry their own power supply.
Not All Sounds Are Blocked by Noise-Cancelling Headphones: Most sounds are blocked or cancelled by the design and technology of these headphones, but some sounds do still get through.
These noise cancellation headphones work by not only cancelling the external sounds but also by blocking them as much as possible. This is achieved by a close fit that many users find uncomfortable. If the consumer is sensitive to tight-fitting headgear or prone to pressure-induced headaches, it is desirable to research what brand and type may offer the most comfort before purchasing.
