Watched Velvet Goldmine again and I feel creatively refreshed and reset. I've legit seen this movie well over a hundred times, and it still hits that emotional and aesthetic cord just right for me. Even more so as I've grown older. I think, though it did shape me in deep, fundamental ways as a person, at sixteen or seventeen, whenever it was I first watched it, I was nowhere near mature enough to properly appreciate it.

1. How many works do you have on AO3? 31, but a few of them are like compilations of one shots, so more like 221. Oh and a few for an old fandom that I’ve pulled down because I wanna just be focused on bandom works.

2. What’s your total AO3 wordcount? 437,181 (why have I never looked at my AO3 stats before?!)

3. How many fandoms have you written for and what are they? I mean if we’re talking like individual bands: My Chem, Danger Days (counting that separately as the characters are different thankyouverymuch), Fall Out Boy, IDKHow, Panic, Taking Back Sunday and one for Ms Taylor Swift. I also have Umbrella Academy fics on here that have never made it to AO3 for some reason. Oh and two old fandoms that again I’ve pulled down.

4. What are your top five fics by kudos? MCR Imagines, Bandom Imagines, Because I’m Good At It (one of the fics I took down actually), Twelve Days of Christmas (and Winter) Fics, and Blood Moon 

5. Do you respond to comments? Why or why not? I try to! At least to say thank you... actually that’s usually all I say because I’m not good at responding to compliments

6. What’s the fic you’ve written with the angstiest ending? Oooh, umm... The Spaces That Divide Us. I should really write the last part of that trilogy and resolve that cliff hanger lol

7. Do you write crossovers? If so what’s the craziest one you’ve written? Umm, not really, unless you count adding FOB into the Danger Days universe (as the Youngbloods)

8. Have you ever received hate on a fic? Not that I’ve ever seen, but I know that generally speaking there are people who feel very strongly about real person fics sooo

9. Do you write smut? If so what kind? Yea. What kind? Umm, the smutty kind? I dunno, nothing too kinky. I’m not a HUGE fan of writing it, mainly because I feel like it always ends up pretty much the same when I write it and I dunno.

10. Have you ever had a fic stolen? I haven’t had a fic stolen per se, but I have seen a fic or two on here that feel suspiciously similar. @thewordworrier knows what I’m talking about. Also I will die on the hill that Taylor Swift read my fic Do It All The Time and then wrote Cowboy Like Me. Ms. Swift, I’d like my writing credit pls and thx 😉

11. Have you ever had a fic translated? No lol no one cares that much

12. Have you ever co-written a fic before?

YES! Me and @mariawritesfanfic wrote a Danger Days fic with a couple of OCs and it was so much fun! I still write a bit for my OC from that story, but rarely post them, it’s mostly just for my own enjoyment.

13. What’s your all-time favourite ship? You mean other than band member x reader? 😅 I have a soft spot for Frikey if we’re gonna be honest (I have one open on my phone right now)

14. What’s a wip that you want to finish but don’t think you ever will?

Oooof this is a call out. Probably my zombie apocalypse AU Late Dawns and Early Sunsets, part 3 of Weapons of Clairvoyance, or my Mikey Way x reader that’s part of my Taylor Swift inspired series. That one is almost done, but someone else released something with a similar premise and I don’t wanna be accused of stealing (even though I had it mostly written well before I knew about that other fic so I know it wouldn’t be but the optics are bad)

15. What are your writing strengths? I have no idea. I don’t feel like there’s any one point that I’m like “yes, this is what I’m good at” while writing. It all takes a lot of work and editing (so much editing... maybe editing is my strength?)

16. What are your writing weaknesses? Writing villains or bullies. It’s hard for me to write people being mean.

17. What are your thoughts on writing dialogue in other languages in a fic? I have literally never had a thought about this lol like it’s fine, idk why it wouldn’t be. Google translate exists if the author doesn’t include a translation.

18. What was the first fandom you wrote for? Waaaaaaaay back in the day, like 2002 or 2003 I wrote for Harry Potter on ff.net

If you're glad Tumblr is doing this just because "it won't affect you because you don't consume adult content", you're a selfish asshole. Don't compare this to the LJ and ff.net bullshit, this is not "I wanna see smutty art of my favs uwu" drama, there's people who get their food on their table with this platform. People who haven't hurt anyone and really depend on Tumblr to literally LIVE.

If you're super against sexual work because it's usually exploitation of people who aren't doing it voluntary, let me tell you Tumblr is probably the only place where sex-workers do it freelance and because they want to do it. So, yeah, bold of you to assume that licking Tumblr's ass on this censorship policy is the virtual equivalent of punching PIMPs and ruining their business. The only business this will ruin is the one that belongs to regular, innocent people. And if you oppose to sex-work not because it's abusive, but because you're "más papista que el papa" (like we would say down here), let me tell you that taking others' way of living away from them must be the least christian thing ever.

But if you still don't care, well, they're not the only people who will get hurt by this decision. A lot of porn blogs belong to people who can't express their sexuality freely in the place where they live, who deal with sex-related mental illness such as sexual repression, who are sexually frustated and can't do anything about it. For a lot of people, this new policy means giving up their only safe space to enjoy and embrace their sexuality.

How do I know this? Because I'm one of them. I have been dealing with my sexual repression for years. I might never have sex in real life because of how heavy it is. I developed anxiety, body dysmorphia and depression because of this. My body is just too weak to have sex (I could get really hurt if I did it wrong), I can't stand nudity and intimacy, and my germaphobia turns any activity involving body fluids into a nightmare.

Lately, my panic attacks have been getting worse. A bad experience with someone I loved but who was extremely toxic to me fucked me up completely. I stopped eating and I can't sleep at night.

My 18+ blog was the only place where I could express myself and feel better with myself. It was the only place where I could feel wanted. Just one follower's praise could change my day fully and make me think, even for just one second, that I deserved love and pleasure, that there was nothing wrong with my body and my head.

Now I'm going to lose all of that. I can't just move to another adult content platform. Have you ever been in one of those? Those are real hellsites. The only place where I knew I wouldn't run into something I didn't want to see, where I could talk and enjoy my body with respectful people who cared about my boundaries and encouraged my progress... it's Tumblr. And now I won't have it anymore.

Do you honestly think this will help? Then maybe you aren't old enough to be here at all. The only things that will happen are:

Pedos and other disgusting people will find more subtle ways of get their shit pass under the radar (and we'll probably run into them more unexpectedly.)

Sex-workers, artists and people who really need to express themselves sexually will lose their job/safe space.

Again, pedos and other disgusting people will probably move to another platform. A far less popular and far more private one, where they can share their shit without the fear of getting caught/exposed.

Without a safe mode around, you might run into gorey/triggering stuff, including the adult content that will unavoidably pass under the radar. (Monitoring and giving people the tools to keep sensitive content out of sensitive audience's eyes is always better than banning.)

People will start moving to other platforms. Even your favorite writer or artist who doesn't post adult content might shut down their blog to give Tumblr a middle finger. Fandom death itself.

Tumblr will lose one of the only things that made it different from any other social media platform.

So, yeah, if you go for the "lol this won't affect me" approach, you're a selfish person who needs to re-think a lot of stuffn If you think this will help any real life child/victim of sexual violence/forced sex-worker, I feel bad for you. If you think Tumblr is doing this for the users, you clearly haven't heard of the App Store drama and you're too pure for this world. And if you feel as angry/hurt as me with the difference that you have money, move to Pillowfort (it looks amazing) and donate to AO3.

Seriously, if you want to keep just one thing of this rant with you, donate to AO3. Even if it's just one dollar. They genuinely care for their users and try to protect their right to express themselves. Show them some fucking love.

16) How did you come up with the idea for xxx?

Well we came up with Maybe One Day because… I forget. Didn’t you find the original conversation it was born from? Basically the need to see Jay Halstead as a father, because he would just be the best one!

I’m Fine was my attempt to reconcile myself with an Erin-less/Linstead-less Chicago PD. Then Don’t Look Back was the companion fic to that, and Home was the necessary reunion.

My Hero came from the line in 5x01 where we found out that Jay punched another cop who was harassing Erin (Protective Jay™)

And Reminding Me just smacked me in the face when I heard the song.

18) Do you have any abandoned WIP’s? What made you abandon them?Nope. I’m wayyyyyy too stubborn to abandon something

I know @letitrainletitsnowbutdontletmego wanted me to write somewhat of a sequel to My Hero talking about that hickey Erin showed up to the district with, but I’m not sure I’ll ever be able to make that happen….

Hey, can you recommend any slow-burn smut fics from The Vampire Diaries, Supernatural, or Teen Wolf (really hoping there's some good Derek hale smut out there.) Thanks!

Hey! I love reading fanfics from all three of those fandoms, although I will say that I haven’t read many slow burns, at least not recently that are sticking in my mind. I haven’t read any Vampire Diaries fanfics in quite a while, but some of my favorites were oneshots on FF.net by an author called giraffelove92. My faves are “Deciding Factors” “Mahogany” “Keen” and “Flattery Gets You Everywhere”. They’re Elena/Elijah and Bonnie/Kol fics (which were ships I was hesitant about, but I swear they’re amazing). They’re not slow burns, but they’re still worth a read. “Deciding Factors” is a 3 chapter one, with smut in the last chapter…so maybe it’s a mini slow burn? lol And I think there’s another Elijah/Elena fic on their page that is a bit of a slow burn, and a longer fic, called “Propositions.” HERE’s the link to their page.

For Teen Wolf, I’m just now getting back into reading Peter Hale fics, thanks to the amazing Slow Burn by @xteenwolfwritingsx called “You Know Better” which is a Peter Hale slow burn that I seriously can’t recommend enough, and it needs more comments and positive feedback, bc the author is amazing. They also have Derek Hale and multiple other Teen Wolf characters on their masterlist, so perhaps check them out? The ones I’ve read so far are all out-of-this-world good. Their masterlist can be found HERE. 

I haven’t really read much Derek Hale, because honestly, Chris Argent and Peter Hale are my preferred daddies on that show haha (although Derek is def my 3rd top crush on there, after those two). I think I have some Derek/Lydia oneshots bookmarked from Ao3 on my laptop at home, that I could post links to, if anyone cares about those. I actually just read a threesome fic with Peter, Chris, and Lydia last night that left me utterly compromised. It can be found HERE. Seriously, get ready for a cold shower after reading that one. I have some Peter/Lydia and Chris/Lydia one shots also saved on my computer at home, but I don’t think I have any slow burns. Although I am currently searching for some, and if anyone else knows of any, I’m all ears lol. There are also a lot of smutty Teen Wolf imagines and one shots on a blog called @imaginesteenwolf and you can search them by character. The blog just recently decided to stop posting, but there are still plenty of fics archived on it. 

As for Supernatural, once again, I’ve mostly read one shots or short fics that are more smut focused. However, @ilostmyshoe-79 has a slow burn Dean fic called “Writing Is Hard” and HERE is the link to the most recent chapter (previous chapter links are at the top of the post). That author is AMAZING, and has a huge masterlist of other one shots and series, so I encourage you to check out their work. They also have a Sam/reader/Dean dom/sub longer series called “A Good Little Girl” that is so hot it’ll knock your panties off. HERE is the most recent chapter for that. @kittenofdoomage also has some amazing longer Supernatural fics, as well as amazing one shots, that you might want to check out, on her masterlist! I know I’m probably missing some obvious slow burn Spn writers, bc that fandom is so huge, so feel free to comment with other recommendations, y’all!

Sorry, I totally am sucking at recommending many slow burns. I love slow burn fics, but it’s hard to find ones that stick out for me, at least at the moment. I think I’ve read more Bethyl slow burns than any other fandom/ship, but I am ALWAYS open to recommendations for those fandoms. I’d love to find a great Crowley slow burn, and I desperately want more Peter Hale fics to read, now that I’m re-obsessed with him lol. I have a shit ton of oneshot fics for those three fandoms, and some long, slow burn Bethyl fics on my laptop at home that I saved, but slow burns for those other fandoms not so much. Which I need to remedy. Okay, now I’m done rambling.

Before I go on I need to do some promotion for other authors, too.

I mentioned @elym13 a couple of times.  On fanfiction dot net, her author name is ‘stillslightlynerdy’, and she has some excellent stories where Elsa has acquired an amazing lover.  Femslash OC extraordinaire!  Go, read!  Because my fiction wouldn’t be as good as it is without her beta skills.

In the last 18 months or so, I also acquired another beta reader, jedijae on fanfiction dot net.  She goes by the handle @thegeekogecko here on tumblr. She has a couple of modern AUs that are a delight.  Anna as paratrooper is so right!

At this point, nerdy, jae and I finish each other’s paragraphs and borrow OC’s shamelessly.  And we have tickets to see the musical in April! Squeeee!

@morgaine2005 helped me out with some fashion things when I needed it.  She has a presence here and on fanfiction dot net, although she has been doing more writing in the harry potter universe recently.

@olofahere (olofa on ff.net) bailed me out when I lopped Elsa’s head off.  She writes terrific fluffy smut.  Smutty fluff?  Whatever... go, read. INGRID!

Who says guys don’t write fanfiction?  Try out @concolor44 and @dragunov888 while you’re there.  Drag writes realistic grimdark fiction and really gets into the dark side of the oeuvre. Concolor has a very nice OC mate for Elsa that has his own brand of magic.

@wandering-bard-from-the-id is a favorite. She goes by onora on ff.net

Also @insectoid5, @blunaowl, (looking for a Snowboarding update soon!), @wintermoonqueen, @ultranos (RL kicking her ass and keeping her from Ghost on the Wire), @marvelousgameofdisneythrones (taps foot impatiently waiting for updates), @fruipit,   and frankly, many more.  Please don’t be mad if I left you out. The number of talented writers here is simply phenomenal, and they all deserve to be read and cherished.

One last memorial: @thearendork.  She was a huge fan of Tadelsa. I mentioned her influence on getting me to write “Tears of a Queen”.  The cover art on her blog is Elsa and Tadashi walking through San Fransokyo, which I used for inspiration of that scene in chapter 13. We lost her too soon. We miss you, Ann.

The Spare - Eight months after her coronation, Queen Elsa of Arendelle begins to bring her sister into the governance of the kingdom. She does not know that there is a plot to force her from the throne. A plot that began long before her parents died. A plot that requires two deaths in order to succeed. Now part of the 'Frozen I.C.E.' award community!

Do The Magic! -  After the harrowing events that took place in "The Spare", Elsa decides that it is long past time that she actually practice using her magic. She has a proposal for the Captain of her bodyguards. He agrees, and training begins. As it happens, Elsa learns more than she bargained for. So does the Captain.

Teach Your Children Well - Everyone think Anna is the little troublemaker, but we know better. Elsa is the master mischief-maker, working hard to develop Anna's skills! A bit of sisterly fluff written for an event on tumblr. Queen Idunn and Gerda have their hands full with the two little princesses. The snow sisters is strong in this one!

Coffee for the Queen - Everyone had to do a coffee shop story! This was written for 'elsanna' week on tumblr. I don't usually ship elsanna, but this idea came to me and I wrote it. No incest, Elsa and Anna are not related in any way here. Also, no sexytimes or even kissing. But it got a pretty good reception on tumblr, so here you go.

A Walk in the Park -- A series of one-shots that explore various issues in the lives of our friends in Arendelle. These vignettes can take place days, weeks, months or even years after the end of the movie. The picture is from chapter 5, where Anna is trying to help Elsa forget bad memories and make good ones.

An Act of True Love -- Written for "What IF?" week of Frozen Fandom Month on tumblr. WHAT IF Elsa froze her own heart instead of Anna's as they argued at the Ice Palace? How would Anna revive Elsa? How would the Kingdom react to Anna becoming Queen? And ... what about Hans? And Kristoff?

Making Today a Perfect Day -- It's Anna's birthday - her first birthday since the Great Thaw. Elsa is determined to make up for 13 years of isolation and recruits Kristoff to help her make it a perfect day. A bit of Kristanna/Ice Bros. fluff written for Valentine's Day 2016.

Protector of the Dominion -- 3 months have gone by since Elsa's coronation. Life is settling into normalcy. An enemy out for revenge attacks Arendelle, putting the young Queen in a dangerous situation. This wasn't something she had trained for, but she proves to be the 'Protector of the Dominion' her coronation oath demanded, even if it costs her a serious crisis of conscience. This story was written first, and is an alternate view of the Weselton attack in  Verðug dróttning stór. 

The Hour of the Wolf -- Anna has demons that come to her in the dark of night, just like Elsa. On a trip to seek advice from the trolls, she is in peril in the wolf-infested woods. Will Elsa and Kristoff find her in time? As our story ends, Elsa comforts Anna and helps her overcome some of the nightmarish doubts in her heart. Heavy on the Ice Bros, as Elsa and Kristoff share their love for Anna.

My muse has been on vacation since December, 2016, but the new content coming out with Olaf’s Frozen Adventure, and especially the leaks from the Broadway Musical version of the story is stirring her up.  Maybe there’ll be more to add to this list soon.
