Birthdays...aren't really occasions Jakarta—fuck, Arta would look forward too.

Not like he hates celebrating birthdays due to some past trauma or anything, he just doesn't find the use of it. Plus, he just doesn't care.

But every single year, every single goddamn year, his family and friends will keep pestering him to accept their gifts and blow out candles and whatever. It's gotten so annoying to Arta, it really has.

But this year felt different, in a way.

With Hikaru's return to Arta's life, it's no surprise that he'll end up giving him cake, anyways. Hikaru's his friend since high school, it's only natural he got a gift for him.

It's chocolate, and Arta has always loved chocolate cake. It's bizarre to think that even after all of these years, Hikaru still remembered what flavor of cake Arta likes.

When Hikaru first introduced Arta to this man named Ling Hao Cheliang, Arta...didn't particularly thought too highly of him at first. It was only through their one-day-hangout that he managed to truly get along with Ling. So he guesses because of that, Ling also got him a gift.

It's just a simple stopwatch, but this might do wonders for Arta, actually.

Arta and DRG aren't really that close, but DRG knew when Arta's birthday is, so she quickly made a short song for him—or rather, a short remix of a song he'd been listening to all his life. She knew about his comfort song, he told her about it once.

And in Arta's honest and humble opinion, this remix fucking slaps.

Now here he is, after a long day of "celebrating his birthday" or whatever, in his room, looking at all of the gifts his friends and family got him, along with listening to DRG's remix of his favorite song, reminiscing.

After DRG's remix stopped playing, Arta quickly switched to the original version of the song, and as soon as it played, he smiled. This song was made specifically for him, after all. A song made by an old friend—someone who was there for him long before Hikaru came.

He hasn't talked to him in a good while, but Arta won't be lying if he said that he missed him. It has been awhile, after all. They've drifted apart since Arta moved away to Phi Central for the time being. They don't really talk anymore either.

Arta thought about it long and hard, before sighing, deciding to not waste his time feeling bad about something he could easily forget.

But with the existence of this song, there's no way he can forget it that easily.

...Still...

It's about time Arta thinks that birthdays are a little bit more worth celebrating than he thought it would be.
