“edda gave into madness” is frankly some wow-style writing (no offence) so i think it’s important to note that she has been horribly emotionally, financially and physically abused by everyone she’s ever come into contact with, (barring avere and the warrior).

she didn’t go crazy or snap, i think she just decided to reorganize her priorities. why try to heal people who can’t wait to hurt her and laugh at her again? why put effort into something when all it’s done is ensure that the only person who mattered to her doesn’t get to see another sunrise? in her mind, she killed avere because she couldn’t heal him fast enough.

edda knows what she’s doing is wrong. she knows that it’s bad and evil but being good gave her scars and tears. being good meant she had to bury her brother, her mother and the love of her incredibly short life in silence while people still laughed at her.

avere would hate her for what she did in tam-tara deepcroft. he would hate the lengths she went to bring back a monster that didn’t even bear passing resemblance to him any more--- and she doesn’t care.

in her mind, he’s worth ruining her own soul over. some people need to be alive, even if she destroys herself in the process and becomes someone he wouldn’t want to marry any more. she needed to try, for him. because she doesn’t deserve anything, but he deserved everything.
