Weiss was... relieved to have some time to herself after the near-altercation earlier. It was never an easy situation to be pitted against your friends, especially with a tense situation like with Jaune, Nora, and Ren... and her new comrade's involvement in Pyrrha's death. Sure, Mercury hadn't been directly involved, but... he'd played a large part. Though Weiss herself had forgiven him, she couldn't forget that when it came to her friends.

Luckily, the ever-optimistic Ruby had been there to pull them through and take her side. Ruby always had her friends' back, and in that moment, Weiss had been afraid. She never wanted to admit it, but Ruby had been her first friend at Beacon. In fact, Ruby was the first person who'd been her friend because of who she was, not because she was the Schnee heiress. Of course, much of that had changed now for both of them...

After bidding Mercury goodnight, Weiss had initially headed to her room, but after realizing she couldn't sleep, she got up and left, heaving a sigh as she sat on one of the outdoor balconies, wishing she'd at least brought a blanket or a warm drink. It wasn't too cold out, but it was cold enough for Weiss in her short little nightgown.

Her gaze turned at the sound of the door to the balcony opening, wondering who it might be... and she was surprised to find none other than her dark-haired friend.

"Hey, Ruby," she greeted awkwardly, hands running through the long hair that was pulled over her shoulder. "Can't sleep either?"
