a lot of blacksad as a comic series’s biggest problems r related to its treatment of women it has very like This Was Done By A Comic Book Dude women and those issues r present with both the writing and art (dif ppl). while those would still be present if they had ‘furrier’ designs, it would be easier to look at at least lol.. the designs r a symptom of the greater disease of not rly being interested in most of the women in the series existing beyond being oversexualized. even in their deaths (some of which r like, violent hate crimes..) which is very noticeable and can feel even more inappropriate and out of place bcuz of the context. if u were trying to say something with it once it might work but the way it’s actually implemented it can just be gross. blacksad is a weird series in general tho with a lot of it i don’t rly feel equipped to be the best person to tackle it beyond ‘well this sure is handled strange or makes me feel Weird. can someone whose perspective is actually direly necessary to this conversation add something’ particularly about smth like race in blacksad which u could probably say a LOT about
