Y/SV/N = your super villain name
Tumblr media
"We have a problem." You spoke in a hushed tone into your phone, even though your door was closed you couldn't afford for you mother to find out what you were up to.
"You said you had everything under control Y/N." Your boss raged through the other line, irritation laced within his words.
"I did! -I mean, I do! It's just.." Your voice trailed off, dreading to mutter the words that were about to come out of your mouth.
"What's the issue." Your boss demanded, as you paced in front of your window, your palms clammy at what you were about to confess.
"I-I've been made." You muttered into your phone, before placing it between your shoulder and ear, pausing your anxious pacing to face your window once more.
"How the hell did that happen Y/N?" Your boss growled through the speaker, causing you to flinch at his tone.
You let out a frustrated breath through your nose as you retrieved the paper that was stuck to the outside of your window, crumbling it up in your one hand.
"I don't know how it happened! But, I'm almost certain that someone broke into my house, some of my belongings have been tampered with." You replied, pinching the bridge of your nose as you walked over to the picture frame, a slight smile forming on your lips as you looked it over.
"Y/N I let you join this team because I saw potential in you-" Your boss started off, causing your heartbeat to quicken in panic, he couldn't fire you, not now, not when you were so close.
"-I know!," You cut him off, breathing heavily now, "I know, and I won't let you down, I promise. This whole situation just proves how committed and how far I'm willing to go, Spider-Man is afraid of me, like he should be." You smirked as the words left your mouth, before walking over to your window once more, your eyes gazing out over the busy streets of Queens.
"The only downfall is now he knows who I am, and I don't know who he is.. So he has an advantage." You groaned, resting your forehead against the cool glass of the window, your eyes shutting in frustration.
"Spider-Man may know who you are Y/N, but you're intelligent in what you do and how you do it, so use that to your advantage and do what you do best, eliminate the pest once and for all." Your boss replied, venom laced within his voice as he spoke, making you swallow thickly, nodding in response even though he couldn't see you.
"Do whatever it takes Y/SV/N." He spoke once more before the line went dead, leaving you alone in your room, your thoughts roaming.
Spider-Man wanted to play games with you, he thought he could outsmart you at your own game, but this was more than a game to you, this was war.
"How am I supposed to act when I see Y/N? Do I say hi? Do I smile? Should I ask if I can borrow some notes?" Ned questioned in a hushed tone, as Peter chewed on his bottom lip anxiously.
"Just act normal Ned, we can't come across as if we know anything." Peter replied in the same hushed tone, as they both peaked around the corner to make sure you weren't anywhere to be found, once concluding the hall was safe Peter approached his locker, Ned hovering behind him as he searched anxiously for you.
"I just can't believe Y/N is the enemy, this whole time, I can't wrap my head around it at all." Ned mumbled to Peter, as Peter made a 'shhh' sound, looking around him as if people were actually paying enough attention to their conversation to overhear them.
"I know Ned, I can't either, but it's the truth, we found solid evidence, now all we need is for Y/N to confess and this will all be over." Peter spoke determinedly, as Ned gave him a look as if saying 'you can't be serious.'
"Peter, I don't know if you recall or not but Y/N tired to kill you!" Ned whisper shouted at his best friend, his eyes wide as he spoke, "The last thing that's going to happen is Y/N surrendering to Spider-Man." Ned tried to reason with Peter, but Peter didn't believe that, he believed that somewhere deep down, you still had heart.
Peter was about to object Ned's statement until his hairs started standing up on his arms, signaling you were approaching, making his stomach start to churn, and before he even had time to warn Ned, you made your way around the corner.
You couldn't help but glance over at the two boys, first making eye contact with Peter, something that felt so foreign yet so familiar and warm, before you shifted your gaze to Ned, your eyes studying how he was shifting back and forth anxiously.
But that's not what sold you on how you knew something was going on, no, it was Ned, he was waving at you, which Peter was quick to slap away in panic.
You couldn't help but quietly laugh at the two boys, you'd been friends with them since the sixth grade, so you could tell in an instant when they were up to something, and you were determined to find out what it was.
So, you did what neither of the boys expected, you smiled at them, before heading off to your first period of class, if they wanted to play games, so could you.
However, Peter and Ned both stood in the hall awestruck, trying to process what they had just witnessed.
"Did Y/N just?"
"Yes."
Peter watched you walk down the hallway, the hairs on his arms going back to normal once you were out of range.
"Do you think Y/N knows we know? Oh my god Y/N is going to kill us! I'm to young to die Peter!" Ned exclaimed, now panicking in the middle of the hall, his eyes wide as he paced back and forth.
"Ned, calm down," Peter tried to comfort his friend, before placing his hands on his shoulders, "I won't let anything happen to you. If anything Y/N is coming after me." Peter gave Ned a faint smile, before heading to his first period class also, Ned slowly falling behind.
It was going to be a long day.
Peter and Ned sat at their usual spot during lunch, an empty table in the back where Michelle also sat with them, but at the end where she could read her book in peace.
"I haven't been able to focus all day." Peter admitted, taking a bite of his premade sandwich from the cafeteria, his eyes scanning around the room filled with his classmates.
"What are you going to do?" Ned questioned, taking a sip of his water, turning to face his friend who was about to respond, but instead froze in place.
Ned followed his gaze, his own eyes widening as you were making your way over to them, a faint smile on your lips as you approached.
"Hey guys.. Do you mind if I uh.." You questioned hesitantly as both of them stared at you in shock, making the situation even more awkward.
Ned quickly snapped out of his thoughts, kicking Peter in the leg under the table, before stuttering slightly, mumbling a quiet 'sure.'
You sat down in front of them, feeling Peter's gaze on you intently, causing your hands to get a bit clammy once again.
"Not to sound rude Y/N, but why are you sitting with us?" Ned blurted out, your eyebrows rising at his question, as Peter's eyes widened at how straight forward his friend was being.
"I wanted to talk. I wanted to say I was sorry for how I acted, I've been going through a lot and I took it out on you guys." You confessed, it wasn't a complete lie.
They both looked at you, turning to the side to talk in private, before smiles appeared on their faces, making you smile in response.
They both agreed it was best to keep you close, that way they could find out what you were up to.
"You want to come over to Peter's later? We're going to gave a game night." Ned offered, a smile on his face as you placed a finger on your chin as if you had to really think about it.
"Oh come on Y/N, it will be fun." Ned urged on, the smile never leaving his lips as you bit your lip in thought, before letting out a soft laugh, nodding your head.
"Of course I'll join, it'll be fun, who doesn't love a little competition, right Peter?" You questioned, your eyes locked with his as he swallowed thickly, becoming nervous under your stare.
"Of course." He squeaked out, not once breaking eye contact with you, a faint smirk creeping up on your lips.
"I guess that's game on then." You replied as you picked up your apple, taking a bite of it as you winked at Peter, his cheeks becoming a light shade of pink, his mind swarming with thoughts.
But one stood out the most in his head.
You were on to him, and that scared him.
I'm sorry this took so long to update, I have been so busy, and I had major writers block on this part, but I think it turned out pretty well, the next parts will be way better, things are just now heating up.
If there's a line through your user Tumblr wouldn't let me tag you :/

Where We Start Again 2
Pairing: Peter Parker x Reader
Synopsis: how do you fake date someone you have real feelings for?

Tumblr media
“This is my room.” Peter weakly gestured to his bedroom as you walked through his door. His eyes were immediately drawn to everything he needed to hide as you began to look around. He kicked a pair of boxers into the closet and threw a hoodie over the vials of web fluid on his desk. When he looked up at you, a smile dawned on his lips. You stood out in your mini skirt among his nerdy ambiance, but you didn’t look out of place. You noticed him staring and tucked your hair behind your ear nervously.
“What?” You asked, feeling a little self conscious under his gaze.
“Nothing. I just like looking at you.” His lips moved faster than his brain and he was defenseless to stop the words from coming out. Luckily, you found it sweet and gave him a small smile.
“Star Wars bedsheets?” You nodded towards his unmade bed where tiny green Yoda heads dotted his sheets.
“Those aren’t mine.” He scoffed playfully, watching as you took a seat on his bed. His throat tightened at the thought of your bare legs on his sheets. The skirt he’d fawned over so many times was on his bed right now, and he was beginning to panic.
“Uh huh.” You humored him and ran a hand over his pillow. “They’re very soft. You should thank whoever they belong to for taking care of them.”
“I have your laundry- oh! A female.” May was startled by your presence when she came to Peters open door. Peters eyes widened when he noticed she was holding a few pairs of his boxers in her hands and prayed you didn’t notice too. Unfortunate for Peter, you had manners and got up off his bed to shake Mays hand. You shoot Peter a look when your eyes fell on the pile.
“Hi Mrs. Parker. I’m Y/n.” You said politely as you shook her hand. May looked between you and Peter with a surprised expression.
“Y/n L/n?” She asked and you nodded.
“Yeah, that me.” You told her. Peter looked up at the ceiling, silently cursing God for what was happening in front of him.
“It’s nice to finally meet you. Peters been telling me about you since freshman year. You’re the one with the skirt, right? Oh, you’re wearing it now.” She laughed spritely and handed Peter his boxers. “You were right, Peter. It is a nice skirt. And please, call me May.”
Peter knew a nail in the coffin when he saw one. There was no coming back from what May just said. You were gonna think he was a creep and your fake relationship would end before it began.
At least you sat on his bed, though.
“Thank you, May. It’s from H&M and I hear there’s a sale right now. It kinda matches your nails. They’re so pretty.” You told her and she looked down at her nail color. Peter did a double take between you and May. For some reason, you weren’t running out of his apartment in fear.
You were giving his Aunt shopping tips and nail compliments.
“Oh, wow. It does. And thank you. I just got them done but of course this one didn’t notice.” She gave Peter a pointed look before returning her attention to you. “I think I’ll go check it out. I’ll leave you kids to it.” She winked at Peter before closing the door.
Peter braced himself for an abrupt end to your newfound relationship as you turned around. Instead, you had your arms folded and a surprised smile on your face.
“Have you been talking to your aunt about me?” You put yourself hand over your heart like you couldn’t believe it. Peter opened his mouth to apologize, but decided against it when you didn’t show any signs of disdain.
“However did you know?” He replied sarcastically and got a laugh out of you. So you didn’t want apologies, he thought. You wanted humor. “I hope you know, you just witnessed the most embarrassing moment of my life.”
“Well if I know anything about women, she’s gonna be at H&M for a while. You don’t have to worry about her coming in here to embarrass you and drop off your Scooby Doo boxers.” You picked up a pair from the pile he was holding and dangled it in front of his face. He snatched them away from you and quickly stuffed them in his drawer.
“Give me those. They also aren’t mine.” He lied and you held up your hands in defense.
“I believe you.” You insisted and walked over to his LEGO Ferris Wheel. He joined you, standing next to you in silence for a moment as you admired it.
“Ruh roh.” You muttered and his head snapped to you.
“Hey.” He whined. You leaned into him as you laughed, making his breath hitched in his chest when you touched him
“I’m sorry. How does this thing work?” You returned your attention to the Ferris wheel. Peter took a moment to admire the wonder in your eyes as they trailed over the bricks. He pushed a button on the side and it began to move.
“Effervescent.” You said flatly at the anticlimactic way it worked. Peter watched you fondly as your eyes followed the LEGO man and woman in one of the carts.
“What made you want to come over?” He asked suddenly. “Do you have to do community service or something?”
“No.” You said like it was a crazy thought. “I wanted to hang out with you.”
Peter was taken aback by this answer and thought for sure you were lying. He looked at you skeptically as you watched the Ferris wheel.
“Why?” He asked. “And how has nothing you’ve seen so far made you want to stop hanging out with me? You know, the boxers, the bedsheets, the aunt.”
You leaned against his book self and looked down at your boots as you shrugged.
“The boys in our school show up hung over, smelling like mango juul pods and hotdog water. They sleep through class and pelt spit balls at each other at lunch. And I’m pretty sure half the football team hasn’t made the full transition from monkey to human yet.” You said as you kept your eyes down.
“These are all things I already know.” Peter said when you didn’t answer his question. You looked up at him and shrugged slightly.
“You show up in button downs and cute sweaters, smelling like apple shampoo. The one that can get in your eyes and won’t sting. You pay attention in class and build LEGO desk lamps for the science fair. And you give people your gogurt.” You said timidly. The corners of Peters mouth turned down as he fought a smile, as well as the urge to scream into a pillow.
“Well she packed me an extra one.” He reminded you and you rolled your eyes. You walked away from his bookshelf and over to where he had set the LEGO lamp down.
“Can I help you glue the legos down?” You changed the topic. “It’ll go faster with two people.”
“Sure.” He nodded and joined you at his desk. He took a vial of web fluid from under the hoodie and handed it to you. “Here.”
“What kind of glue is this?” You asked as you examined the vial.
“Oh, uh, I made it myself.” Peter stammered as he pulled up a chair for you. You gave him a grateful smile and took a seat.
“You made your own glue?” You asked him once he sat down next to you at the desk.
“Yes?”
“You’re incredible, Peter.” You shook your head and started glueing pieces down. “Out here making your own glue. Elmer’s is quaking.”
Peter took a moment to collect himself before he started glueing the pieces together. Everytime he thought he did something lame, you liked it. And not only that, you praised him for it. All the things that made him unpopular were the things you seemed to enjoy. He was curious about your intentions and could only hope they were good.
“The fair is this Friday, right?” You peered at him through your lashes as you focused on sticking a piece to the base.
“Yeah, right after school.” He replied, freezing momentarily when your pinky touched his.
“I’ll be there.” You said definitively. He stopped what he was doing and looked at you to see if you were joking, but you looked completely serious.
“You don’t have to. It’ll be really boring.” He said softly but you dismissed him.
“Then I’ll hang out by you the whole time.” YIU said simply. “What kind of fake girlfriend would I be if I wasn’t there to watch my boyfriend win the science fair?”
The tips of Peters ears turned pink when you called him your boyfriend. As much as he’d love to have you cheering him on at the science fair, he didn’t want to make you do something you didn’t want to do. He was about to insist that you didn’t have to go when he stopped himself. Something about all the impossible things that had happened today made him want to go against his normal behavior.
“It’s every boys dream to have his fake girlfriend watching him awkwardly tell judges about his science fair project.” He said instead of telling you you didn’t have to come. You seemed like you wanted to, and he’d love to have you there. Why not let it happen?
“I know, right? How’d you get so lucky?” You tossed your hair off your shoulder and winked at him. Peter has gone from never speaking to you to you winking at him three times in one day. You were right. How did he get so lucky?
“Are you sure about committing to this whole fake dating thing? If you’re at the science fair with me, more people are gonna know. It won’t just be between you and me and Flash anymore.” Peter warned you. You stopped glueing legos and looked at him.
“I am sure. I want to do this. It’s just until the dance right? I can dedicate two weeks of my life to mess with Flash.” You insisted as you put your hand on top of his. He tensed up so you quickly drew it away and cleared your throat. “We should probably come up with nicknames for each other to really sell it. What do you want to be called?”
Still recovering from the hand holding incident, his mind was blank.
“You pick.” He said blankly.
“Thank God. I thought you were gonna say “my lord” or some shit.” You laughed and went back to glueing. “How about baby? Nice and simple.”
“Sounds good.” He smiled shyly. He wasn’t even on your radar this morning and now you were calling him baby.
“What do you want to call me?” You asked. The hope in your eyes made Peter determined not to disappoint you.
“Daisy.” He said confidently. You raised your eyebrows at his quick response.
“You had that prepared.” You remarked and he rubbed the back of his neck.
“I see you drawing daisies on your notes all the time.” He admitted. “And then you color the center with yellow highlighter. It’s cute.”
“Good eye, baby.” You emphasized the pet name for effect.
“I just have a good view, daisy.” He did the same. You pulled your tongue between your teeth and giggled. The sight of it made Peters knees weaken as he glued on the final piece.
“You should give me one of your shirts or something so I can wear it to school.” You said as you got out of your chair. “Do you have anything that says your last name on the back?”
Peter got up from the desk and dug around in his closet for his decathlon hoodie. He made sure not to touch the area where his suit was hidden.
“Would this work?” He asked as he held it out to you. You traced your fingers over the bold white block letters and smiled.
“That’s perfect. And here.” You slipped your scrunchie off your wrist and gave it to him. “Wear this on your wrist. I wear it a lot so people will know it’s mine.”
Peter put it on his wrist and thought of all the times he’d seen you wearing it. He loved it when you wore your hair up. And down. He loved it all.
But so did the rest of his school.
Guilt bubbled in the pit of his tummy at the thought of what the fake relationship could do to your reputation.
“You really don’t have to do this, Y/n.” He said softly. “You’re committing social suicide.”
“That’s not a thing.” You stated as you tied his hoodie around your waist. “And I told you, I’m happy to do this. Flash needed to be put in his place. I always hear him picking on you over nothing.”
“Yeah. He’s a real piece of work.” Peter shoved his hands in his pockets and blew out a breath.
“You pronounce “dick head” funny.” You smirked. “Why do you let him get away with what he says to you? How do you resist the urge to punch him in the face?”
“He’s not worth.” Peter shrugged. “I want to get out of here and go to a good college. I’m kinda depending on scholarships and I hear schools prefer kids who don’t get into physical fights with other students.”
“Well you’re very patient.” You complimented him as you stepped closer. “I see him beating up on you all the time.”
“Are you stalking me?” He teased and you shoved his shoulder.
“Says the boy who tells his aunt about my mini skirts.” You shot back before pulling your bottom lip between your teeth.
“Touché.” He squinted at you. “You know, you could’ve just told him to back off. Now you’re stuck pretending to be my girlfriend.”
“Would you stop?” You pouted as you sat back down on his bed. “I don’t feel stuck. I think this is gonna be fun.”
“Not that I’m not enjoying looking at legos with you, but wouldn’t you rather be spending your time with your actual friends? Not your fake boyfriend?” He asked as he took a seat beside you. You took a rubix cube off his nightstand and toyed with it, solving it almost immediately.
“Wanna know a secret?” You asked him as you handed him the solved rubix cube.
“Tell me.” He urged.
“I hate those people.” You laughed sadly. “All of them. Everyone who cares more about what brand you’re wearing than how your day was. I don’t think I’ve ever had an intelligent conversation with any of my “friends”.”
“Then why do you hang out with them? And how was your day?” He added to make you laugh.
“It’s a lot better now.” You said as you drew your knees up to your chin. You had shed your boots at some point and Peter could see your mismatched socks. “And I hang out with them because they count on me to. I don’t know when I became the cult leader around here but now they don’t leave me alone. It’s like, you have to be at this party and you have to wear a dress by this brand unless you got it from this store because that’s cheap. And you must wear your hair this way and drink this alcohol and know this song. It’s exhausting. That glue smells like flint stones vitamins, by the way. It’s all over my hands.”
“I didn’t realize being popular was so trifling.” Peter replied as he reached for a bottle of web dissolver (disguised as hand sanitizer) on his desk and offered it to you. You held out your hands and he squirt some in.
“I know how it sounds.” You said lowly. “I know that people would kill to have my status. But no one in my circle is happy. They’re running on 10 shots of expresso and fake smiles.”
Peter took what you said into consideration as he watched the solemn expression on your face.
“Are you unhappy?” He realized. You had said no one in your circle was happy, and he worried that included you.
“Sometimes. A lot of the time, actually.” You admitted and his heart sank. “I know it looks like I have a lot of friends, but I don’t have a single one. Not one who cares about me or checks on how I’m doing, anyway. I would give up my dozens of fake friends for one real one.”
You kept your eyes down as you spoke to hide your emotions, but Peter couldn’t ignore it. He tried to redeem himself from earlier by putting his hand over yours.
“I care about you.” He promised. “And I may be your fake boyfriend, but I’m your real friend…friend.”
You gave Peter a half smile and flipped your hand so you were holding his instead of just under it.
“You know, this is the first time I’ve done something after school that I actually enjoyed.” You told him.
“We could hang out more, if you want.” He suggested, not thinking you’d actually say yes.
“Yeah, totally.” You agreed, much to his surprise. Your smile seemed different to him, more genuine.
“To convince Flash, I mean.” He added quickly. Your face faltered a little and you took your hand away from his.
“Right.” You gave him a tight smile. “Flash.”
~
“I need to talk to you.” Peter whispered harshly the next morning when he found Ned at his locker.
“Is this about you walking home with Y/n? Everyone’s talking about it. People are saying you took her to an alley and killed her.” Ned recanted the rumors he heard with excitement.
“What? I didn’t kill her.” Peter defended. “She wanted to come over to see my legos.”
“Oh wow. And I had Tia and Tamera over to bake me a loaf of bread.” Ned said seriously.
“I’m being serious, Ned.” Peter sighed. “Flash was making fun of me and she just-“
“Peter!”
As soon as Peter turned around, you jumped into his arms and wrapped your legs around his waist. He quickly wrapped an arm around you to keep you from falling as you hugged him tightly. When you let go, he could see you were wearing his hoodie over a jean skirt. It reminded of of his sleepless night as he couldn’t get over the fact that his bedsheets now smelled like you. He tossed and turned all night with a smile on his face, too giddy to go to sleep. He didn’t even care when he heard the birds chirping, signaling that he had never fallen asleep. Nothing could break his smile.
“Good morning, baby.” You cooed as you kept your arms around his neck.
“Baby?” Ned sputtered. “Big confused.”
“Haven’t you heard? Peter and I are dating.” You smiled brightly as you linked your arm through Peters. A huge grin broke out on his face at your display of affection as Ned’s eyes bulged out of his head.
“Fake dating.” He said to calm his friend down.
“Semantics.” You replied quickly. “If anyone asks, we’re together.”
“That’s what I was trying to tell you.” Peter explained when Ned still looked shocked.
“Look! I’m wearing your hoodie.” You pulled the hoodie forward so Peter could see.
“And I have your small headband.” Peter held up his wrist to show you where the scrunchie was.
“It’s called a scrunchie.” You giggled. You took his hand and held it to your chest. “We look so convincing. Ned, don’t we look like a couple?”
“I’m having network connectivity problems.” Ned mumbled as he struggled to understand what was going on.
“Wait. I forgot I have to talk to the student council about the dance decorations.” You remembered. “See you at lunch?”
“Have a good day, s-sweetheart.” He stuttered out a new nickname he had always wanted to call you.
“Sweetheart? I like it.” You twirled yourself under his arm before walking away. “Shaking things up.”
Peter and Ned watched you walk away, Ned with his jaw slacked and Peter with his eyes soft.
“Dude.” Ned breathed.
“I know.”
“You have a fake girlfriend.” Ned said in disbelief. “And it’s Y/n.”
“I know.”
“You’ve been in love with her for years.” He whispered.
“I know.”
“She is way out of your league.” He looked at his friend.
“I know!” Peter exclaimed. “Do you think people are gonna buy it?”
“I don’t know.” Ned answered honestly. “Why did she agree to this? You didn’t try to kill her in an alley did you?”
“No, Ned. This was all her idea. She asked for my hoodie and gave me this little skirt for your hair.” Peter held up with wrist with the scrunchie again.
“It’s called a munchie, Peter.” Ned rolled his eyes.
“Well she gave me hers so people would know she’s my girlfriend. Or fake girlfriend. I don’t really know the details.” He sighed but broke into another smile. “She came over yesterday and God, she’s so much better than we thought. She’s funny and a good listener and everytime I thought I did something lame, she liked it. She liked me! This might be the greatest thing that ever happened to me, Ned.”
“But is this really what you want? You’ve liked her since the first day of school when her dad almost hit you with her car and she started crying.” Ned reminded him. “Do you really want your first relationship with a girl, especially this girl, to be fake?”
“MJ was right, Ned. A girl like that will never be interested in someone like me. This is the only chance I’m gonna have with her. And yeah, it’s a fake relationship. But it’s a real friendship. I’ll take what I can get if it means I can be close to her.” Peter decided.
“I don’t want you getting hurt, Peter. If this ends badly, it’ll crush you.” Ned said sincerely.
“I know what this. I know she’ll never actually like me. As long as I keep reminding myself that, I’ll be fine.” Peter insisted.
“Okay.” Ned patted his back. “If you say so.”
“Don’t-“
“Didn’t even notice. No punches there to roll with.” Ned began to sing as he walked down the hall. Peter kept his distance as he followed him to class, already thinking about the next time he’d get to see you.
~
Peter waited a lifetime for the lunch bell to ring. The best parts of his day were when he got to see you. Those parts were the morning if he got to his locker on time, lunch, 7th period, and after school when you had Volunteer Club. They met right across the hall from the Decathlon team and of Peter angled his chair correctly, he could catch a glimpse of you.
He kept his head up as he headed to his table, always on the lookout for you. He spotted his hoodie a few seconds before you made eye contact.
“There you are, baby.” Your eyes lit up as you made your way over to him. “Come on. Let’s eat together.”
Peters heartbeat quickened as you lead him towards your usual lunch table. It was already full of popular kids, the very popular kids that Peter feared.
“Your friends won’t like me.” Peter protested to save himself from 40 minutes of torture.
“No one at that table likes each other, Peter.” You laughed but he sensed a sadness in your voice. “Let’s sit with your friends then.”
You pivoted away from the cool kids table, earning yourself a glare from every inhabitant. It struck fear in Peters heart, but it didn’t phase you. You linked your arm through his again and led him towards Ned and MJ’s table.
“Are you sure?” Peter asked nervously as he made eye contact with an angry quarterback.
“Yes. Come on.” You tugged him harder until you got to the table.
“Hey guys.” You greeted Ned and MJ as you sat down. Ned looked up in shock and the water he was drinking fell out of his mouth.
“Girl?” He asked Peter, reverting to his inability to speak around you.
“Yes, girl.” You chuckled. “Come sit with us, Michelle.”
“Fine, but only because this cannot end well.” MJ picked you her stuff and slid next to you. You handed her her daily granola bar and she took it with a sly smirk.
“Flash is coming.” Ned whispered and you quickly took Peters hand. You leaned your head on your other hand and stared at him with a dreamy smile as Flash walked by. He shot you guys a look and pretended to gag before walking away.
“He totally bought it.” You squealed as you watched him sit down. “We are so good together.”
Peter nodded stiffly, his full attention on the fact that you were still holding his hand.
“Are you in the science fair too, Ned?” You changed the subject but began to trace patterns on Peters palm. It took him a moment to realize you were drawing daisies.
“No. I’m not.” Ned replied and everyone perked up.
“He just said a full sentence.” MJ realized.
“Yay!” You released Peters hand to clap softly. His hand felt cold without yours holding it and he felt disappointment sink in. He thought he’d be okay as long as he reminded himself that the relationship was fake, but he wasn’t. He wanted to hold your hand all the time, not just when Flash was around.
“Why not?” You asked as you opened up your lunch bag.
“I usually just hang out by the snack table until Peter wins. Then we go to Delmars and order a sandwich with every single ingredient on it.” He explained. “It wasn’t that bad until they added tuna to the menu. Tuna really doesn’t go with peanut butter and hot sauce.”
“Haha, he’s kidding.” Peter lies and shot Ned a look. “We don’t do that. That would be absurd.”
“I have this really strong feeling that you do do that-“
“Do do.” Ned chuckled.
“-and it sounds fun. Is it cool if I tag along this year?” You asked Peter, slipping your hand back into his. Peter looked at your intertwined hands before looking to Ned for approval.
“Girl welcome.” He nodded until he realized he was doing it again. “Damn it.”
“Of course you can come.” Peter made the decision when Ned was no help. “But I have to win first.”
“I’ve seen your picture in the display case the last three years. Come on, you had the robotics arm, the homemade spinneret, and the thing with the flies.” You surprised Peter by listing his lady entries. “This solar powered LEGO lamp is gonna blow the judges away. You’re gonna win. My boyfriend is the smartest guy in school.” You gloated as you moved some hair off Peters forehead.
“You know your don’t have to call him your boyfriend around us, right? We’re not the ones you’re trying to fool.” MJ cut in. Peters has tightened at MJ’s interruption.
“I know.” You said timidly and took your hand away from Peter again. He huffed out an angry breath but kept his mouth shut. If you could take his hand, he could take yours.
“She can do what she wants.” Peter said decidedly and laced his fingers through yours. You smiled proudly at him and squeezed his hand.
“Thank you, baby.” You said, happy he was taking initiative. “What are you doing after school today?”
“You’re in luck, Y/n. You chose the best possible boy to fake date. His schedule has been open for the last 18 years.” MJ jeered.
“Haha. Don’t you have a chicken to ritualistically sacrifice or something?” Peter shot back.
“Ooo. Witch joke. Original.” She whispered and twiddled her fingers like she was casting a spell.
“I’m not busy, daisy.” He ignored MJ and kept his eyes on you. “What did you have in mind?”
“I’ve been so busy planning the dance that I never got a dress.” You told him. “Would you come with me to pick one out?”
“Do I want to spend my afternoon watching you try on dresses?” He repeated your question back to you and you realized how boring it sounded.
“You don’t have to-“ You began.
“Hell yeah I do.” He cut you off and you smiled. “Where do you want to meet?”
“If you walk me home after school we can go from there.” You suggested. Peters mouth dried out at the thought of going to your house but he forced himself to nod.
“Okay.” He squealed.
“Shoot, I almost forgot. I have to meet with Mrs. Carlisle about the DJ.” You packed up your lunch and cupped Peters chin. “I’ll see you later?”
“I’ll be at your locker.” He nodded as your thumb slid off his chin.
“Good boy.” You smirked. “Bye Ned. Bye Michelle.”
Ned waited until you were out of sight until he freaked out.
“Dude! She invited you to her house! She totally wants to jump your bones.” He whispered loudly.
“Why would she jump on my bones? Like my skeleton?” Peter asked innocently. “You think she want to kill me?”
“How is the hottest girl in school interested in you?” MJ shook her head. “Especially when you ask questions like that.”
“Shes not into me. We’re fake dating.” Peter reminded them.
“And who’s idea was it to do that?” MJ cocked her head. “Because she called me yesterday to tell me all about your little plan.”
“Yesterday you were saying I’d never have a chance, and today you’re insisting that she’s into me?” Peter asked in confusion. “Wait, she called you? About me?”
“I hadn’t seen you interact before yesterday. She was doing girlfriend shit when no one was watching. Not even you! Check your notebook.” MJ grumbled and angrily took a bite out of her granola bar. Peter curiously opened his notebook and found a pink slip of paper inside. He opened it up and read it out loud.
“This is my favorite color on you. Have some sweet tarts, for my sweetheart. See you after school.” He read the note and held up a fun sized packet of Sweet Tarts.
“She put that in there when you were too busy staring at the jocks.” MJ told them. “Now tell me, why would she sneak candy into your notebook entirely out of Flash’s view? Who does that convince?”
“I love sweet tarts.” Peter muttered as he stared at the note. Even your handwriting was pretty.
“Everyone knows that. Remember when you had to go to the nurse freshman year on Valentine’s Day because you ate 18 packets?” Ned brought up.
“I don’t remember that.” Peter mumbled, trying to think of what Ned was talking about.
“Because you were sent home for going into a sugar coma.” MJ snorted.
“Wow.” Peter raised his eyebrows. “I never knew that.”
“Well she did. And now she’s sneaking you candy.” MJ said and laughed in disbelief.
“What’s so funny?” Peter laughed defensively.
“I think Y/n actually likes you. And I think that hilariously paradoxical.” She laughed again.
“What? No.” Peter didn’t allow himself to have hope, even for a minute. “She doesn’t like me. She’s just faking.”
“You’re going to her house today right?” MJ raised a single eyebrow. “See how she behaves. If you acts like your girlfriend when no one is around, you’ll know she isn’t faking.”
“Okay.” Peter decided, figuring he had nothing to lose. “Okay. I’ll do that.”
~
Peter stationed himself at your locker directly after school. He kept MJ’s advice at the front of his mind as he waited for you to arrive. All he had to do was observe you. He did that all the time anyway. Only this time, it counted. He wiped his sweaty palms on his jeans and let out a breath.
“Baby.” He heard your sweet voice from behind him. He turned around and saw your equally sweet smile.
“Ready?” He asked as he took the books from your hands. You gave him a puzzled look and he explained. “I’m carrying your books for you. My uncle told me to do this when I got a girlfriend. I figured he’d still appreciate it, even if our relationship is fake.”
“He sounds like a smart man.” You said kindly and Peter nodded.
“He was. I’ll tell you more about him on the walk.” He offered and you smiled like you liked the idea. “Lead the way.”

“Tom, have you seen this?”
It was the first thing Harrison asked once his best mate made it back to his trailer after long hours of shooting his first Marvel movie as Spider Man. Tom had left him there to wait for him to be done so they could go out and explore Atlanta together, and it seemed like Harrison had a good time doing absolutely nothing but going through his Instagram all day.
“No, what is it?” Tom sat next to him in the small couch they had, if it could be called couch.
“You know (Y/N), from that one band Harry is always listening to and you’re all obsessed with her.”
“Not obsessed, I just find her really pretty and talented.” Haz rolled his eyes and threw his phone on Tom’s lap.
“Well it seems like she’s going to be in town this weekend for a gig.”
And there it was, a simple Instagram post from that one account Tom have visited so much and liked so many pictures. The girl standing on a stage, a single light standing over her, who was holding her guitar and singing something, just like many other posts. But this one was different, and what was written below the picture was what made Tom open a big smile.
“@yourusername: Thanks for singing with me tonight DC, it was magical! Next stop: Atlanta. See ya’ Saturday.”
“Mate! We need to get tickets for this.”
“Hey, slow down Mr. Parker, you have work Saturday. You can’t simply drop it to go to a gig.”
Tom shrugged and his smiled faded away. Haz was right, he couldn’t drop work to go see a band play, even if it was his favourite band. So he dropped it for a moment, realizing he was too tired to mourn about it in that moment and that he had to get some rest for a long week of shooting. But he couldn't get it out of his head. So that night he had insomnia, and rolled in bed for a very long time until he gave up and got out of bed to look for some tea, and ended up scrolling through Instagram leaned against the kitchen sink. And she had posted another picture, one quite different from those she normally posts, where she’s on stage or rehearsing. This one she was laying on one of her bandmates lap wearing anything less than a Spider Man shirt.
“Shit!” He spilled some tea on his hand and had to drop his phone to clean it up. “I can’t believe this girl just got more perfect.”
The thing is that it happened with Tom what happens to a lot of people. They see a celebrity, and they find them super nice, funny and pretty and suddenly, they have a platonic crush on them. It happens to a lot of people, and it happened with Tom. It only took his brother listening to her songs on repeat and him enjoying some of them. He remembers asking whose song it was to Harry and him showing a video of her on stage. He’d been following her ever since, and he simply couldn’t believe he wasn’t going to be able to see her live, after admiring her for months through social media. But today he felt different about that one picture she posted, the one with the Spider Man shirt. The urge to comment on it.
“Okay, fuck it.” He held his phone again and commented on the picture.
“@tomholland2013: Loved the shirt, great superhero preference.”
Meanwhile, (Y/N) was chilling with some of her friend in her tour bus. They had finished a great gig that night and stopped at McDonald’s for some after show food before they could hit the road onto the next city. They had a lot of fun together, sang, took pictures and laughed together while having some burgers and some more food. But the end of the night, they were simply very tired. (Y/N) lied next to her best friend Amy and started interacting with some fans on social media, just because she couldn’t get any sleep. So going through some comments, she saw his. The guy who was announced as the new Spider Man just commented on her picture. Well, she noticed he had been liking her things for a while now, but it was the first time he commented on something. She had stalked him once or twice, and she already thought he was cute. So this time, (Y/N) replied.
“@yourusername: @tomholland2013 well thank you, and great spidey casting!”
Tom almost choked when he saw a reply to his comment, and soon a message on his DM. He needed to stop to breath and process what had just happened. But once he got it all together, he opened the DM and saw what she had to say.
“Hi Mr Parker, is Atlanta fun?” She asked, and he smiled at her message.
“Very very fun.” He said out loud while typing on his phone.
“So, I hope to see some webs around my gig this Saturday.”
“Sorry, I have work :c” He sighed while typing this one.
“Oh fuck! Not even a little bit for the encore?”
“Well, maybe just for the encore.”
“And some backstage meeting.”
“Okay :)”
“See ya’ Saturday!”
Harrison’s first action of the day was roll his eyes when Tom woke him up holding his phone in front of his face and rambling about running right after finishing work just to see her play. Haz thought his friend was insane, but on Saturday, there they were, rushing to some gig to finally meet the girl of his dreams. When they got there, it had already started and it was right in the middle of the set.
“I can’t believe you did this for a girl you’ve only known through photos. You’ve never properly talked to her.”
“I know, it’s just, I felt like I had to be here tonight.”
He couldn’t take his eyes off her during the whole concert. The way she held her guitar, or the way her body swayed while she sang. She looked just like how he had seen on Instagram a lot of times before. Those colorful clothes, a tie dye and light jeans, and a lot of glitter on her eyes. The ultimate alternative girl, just giving her all on stage. He couldn’t stop smiling, because she was just like he always imagined she would be. Funny, extroverted and really pretty, with such a stage presence. No wonder she and her band got famous quickly. They had a lot of talent, and everyone there could feel it. Once the gig was over, Tom went completely crazy over finding a way to go backstage.
“Maybe they won’t even know who you are. You’re not that famous yet mate.”
“Come on Haz, we have to try!” Tom approached the big guy standing between him and the backstage door. “Hey, I’m Tom Holland, could you please get (Y/N), cause I really need to talk to her.”
“Oh, I thought I’d heard an angels voice, but it was just you.” A girl said from behind them. “I was giving some autographs and saw you from far away. I’m glad Peter Parker got some time just to see me playing live.”
“I couldn’t miss it.” He smiled shyly and she stood her hand in the air.
“I’m (Y/N), by the way.”
“Tom, and it’s really nice to finally meet you.” They both stared at each other for a long time until Harrison cleared his throat. “Hm, and this is my mate Harrison.”
“Nice to meet you. Really great concert, amazing voice.”
“Thank you. Come on, let’s get inside and grab something to eat.”
They had a lot of fun around the band, getting to know each of them personally, and finding out that all of them were personally obsessed with one Marvel superhero, and that all of them loved Spider Man. That suddenly became a huge deal to Tom, to not let them be disappointed with him once the movie was out. That was also the night he got a picture he always dreamed of having. (Y/N) smiling at him while he was rambling about something, captured by the band’s photographer.
“Hey, can I have this one?” Tom asked while they were going through the pictures.
“I’m gonna post it on Instagram.” (Y/N) said. “I mean, I look so cute!”
“You always do sis.” Her brother said from afar, looking for some beer.
“Well, I think we need to go.” Harrison said. “We had a long day of shooting, right Tom?”
“Yeah, uhm… But I’m not tired though.” Tom said without taking his eyes off her.
“But you should go, Harrison looks tired and you do too.” She caressed his cheek and he smiled. “I’m gonna take them out and call a driver.”
(Y/N) followed them outside with one of her security guys and Harrison went ahead to find a taxi, and to leave some time for them to talk alone to each other, because he knew his mate needed to get more connected to her. He could see it while they were all together, the way they instantly connected. Tom walked alongside her while she finished a joke, making him laugh a lot.
“So you’re gonna be in Atlanta for how long?”
“One more day only, and we’re off to Texas.” She explained. “But hey, at least it was nice to see you around, even for so little time.”
“See, I have to admit something to you.” He glanced down to his feet and she kept staring at him in hope to get something out of him.
“What is it?”
“I’ve been following you for a while now, since my brother showed me your band. And I really think you’re amazing, and I have for a while.” She smiled to him and blushed hardly. He was being so nice. “And I really want to do something crazy right now.”
“How much crazy?” She furrowed her brows and he stopped, making her stop too.
“This crazy.” This way he stole a small peck from her lips, leaving her paralyzed.
“Wow.”
“Sorry.” He blushed immediately, rubbing the back of his head. Her hands went to cup his cheek and she pulled him to another brief kiss, but much more longer than the previous one.
“If you want to, I’m gonna be around for the whole day tomorrow, and I really don’t know many great places to have lunch here in Atlanta.”
“I know the perfect place.” He said with a smile on his face.
“It’s a date.” She caressed his arm and left one final peck before going back inside, leaving Tom with a dorky smile on his face.
“Come on mate, being paralyzed over there won’t make the moment last longer.” Harrison shouted from the taxi door.
“At least I had to try.”
(...)
“So, you got a date with (Y/N)? The (Y/N) (Y/L/N)?” Harrison asked in breakfast when Tom was trying out different shirts for his date.
“Yeah, is it so hard to believe?”
“Hmm, kind of. I mean, she’s super famous and you’re not that much yet.” Haz sipped his tea and Tom rolled his eyes.
“I got to meet her anyway, and we’re going out for lunch, and now you should be the good friend and help me pick something to wear.”
“Just go with the black one, and maybe a jacket over.” Tom nodded and smiled, going back to his bedroom.
“Thanks mate! See you later.” Tom waved and Haz rolled his eyes.
“Whatever. Get that girl!”
“I will.”
While Tom finished getting ready, (Y/N) was getting her makeup done by her best friend, Willow, master of makeups, drums and dating advices. She always knew what to say to people, and she had so many great advices and some helps for those going on first dates. Willow did a light makeup on (Y/N)’s face, much opposite of those she does for when she is on stage, and chose a black denim skirt and a yellow shirt that just matched with sneakers, and were the perfect casual look.
“Aaaaand… Ready for your date with the cute Spider Man.” Willow said once she was done with (Y/N)’s makeup.
“All of them are cute.” (Y/N) glanced up with a smirk on her face.
“Well, he’s the cutest.” Willow helped her stand up and lightly tapped her butt to make her go in direction of a mirror. “You look gorgeous, as always.”
“Shut up Will.” She took a look at herself in the mirror, sometimes slightly turning around to check if everything was good. “I have to admit, I love when you go shopping with me.”
“I know I’m that good of personal stylist.”
“And thank God for those makeup classes you took when we were in High School. I look completely amazing!”
“You always do.”
And so there were knocks on the door, and Willow opened it up, showing (Y/N)’s brother on the door, with a big smile on his face, as if he was about to laugh at his sister’s face.
“Tom’s here.” He announced and (Y/N) nodded, finishing gathering her things like lip gloss and phone to keep it on her purse.
“Okay, bye Will, and I’ll see you later.”
“Have fun babe.” She said, sitting back down, but smiling for her bestie’s happiness.
“(Y/N/N), come here.” Her brother called and she stopped midway to turn back to him.
“What?” She approached him and he hugged her.
“Just be careful, you just met him. But also, have fun.” He kissed the top of her head and she smiled.
“I will, I love you.”
“Love you too.”
Tom was waiting for her in the sidewalk, walking side by side, the most nervous he has ever been in his life. He always dreamed of taking this girl out, but never really thought it was going to be for real one day. Once he saw her walking towards him, he could swear his heart stopped and he forgot how to breath. She looked different from every picture or video of her on stage. (Y/N) for once looked like a real life person, and it made Tom breathless.
“Hi.” She said shyly.
“Hey.” He smiled brightly, making her feel so much more comfortable. “Did you have a good night after I was gone?”
“Sooo good. Like, we cleaned everything up and I watched a movie with Willow drinking hot coco and honestly, it was last night’s peak.” She provoked, just to see his reaction.
“Really?” Tom furrowed his eyebrows and (Y/N) laughed. “No other good thing happened last night?”
“Nope.” She shook her head laughing and he nodded. “Come on, I’m kidding. I had a very good kiss last night too.”
“Humm… Good to know.”
“Let’s go, I’m starving. And, dying to know where you’re taking me.” She pulled him by the hand, making him smile.
“It’s nothing too great, really. I just hope you like burgers.”
“It’s my favorite food.” She smiled and he reached for her hand, guiding her to the car he rented with Harrison on the second day in America.
It wasn’t so far away from where (Y/N) was staying with her band. They had a calm car ride, listening to good songs and having a nice and casual conversation. It was like they’d known each other forever, it was so easy to talk to the other, and it made their day so light.
Tom pulled over in front of a small cafeteria, not crowded, but with a really nice and calm environment. Perfect for a famous person who doesn’t want to be bother on her day off. The place smelled like good food, and there was some known rock n’ roll songs like Led Zeppelin or David Bowie playing on the background. The few people that were there were focused on their work, or the people that were with them, so no one even noticed two famous people coming in. Tom guided (Y/N) to a booth in the back, close to the kitchen door, a little far away from the windom.
“This place is so nice.”
“Yeah, it was recommended by someone on the studio. They said it had good food and never was crowded. So I tried one day with Harrison, and it’s actually pretty great.”
“I really loved it. And it smells sooo nice.”
“I can’t wait to see your face when you try out their cheesy fries. It’s heaven sent.” She smiled and kept staring at him. “Do I have something on my face?”
“No, no…” She shook her head and laughed. “It’s just… It’s weird, I feel like we’re old friends and we’ve known each other for like one day.
“I feel it too. Like, when I listen to your music, I feel so close to you. And I had the same feeling the first time I talked to you.”
“Maybe we know each other from other lives.”
“Maybe we used to work together.”
“Maybe we were married.” She lowered her sight to her lap and he smiled.
“Yeah, that’s more likely.”
“Tom, nice to see you around again.” The middle age waitress approached with a sympathetic smile on her face.
“Penelope, you know I’d be coming back for more of your cheesy fries.”
“So I’ll take notes to bring it to you right now.” She wrote something down on her notepad.
“Thank you.”
“So, who’s the pretty lady?”
“This is (Y/N), she’s passing through town this weekend and didn’t know where to eat. And you know, since here is so quiet and private, also really good.”
“It’s nice to meet you (Y/N).” She smiled to the girl next to Tom.
“It’s nice to meet you too.”
“So, what can I order for you two?”
“Bring the cheesy fries, I want my regular burger and a chocolate milkshake.”
“Which one is your regular?” (Y/N) whispered to Tom, looking at the menu.
“This one.” He pointed the burger on the menu and she smiled.
“Okay, I’ll have the cheddar bacon burger. And, can we share a milkshake?” She asked and he nodded with a grin on his face.
“Okay.” Penelope smiled with their interaction and wrote down their order.
“I’ll be right back with your food.”
“Thank you.”
“Why didn’t you wanna order your own milkshake?”
“I don’t know. I always thought it was cute to share milkshakes on a date. But I never really tried it.”
“Really?”
“Yeah. I don’t go on many dates though. Like, me and my brother started chasing our dream around our band very soon, and since we started, I haven’t had time to date.”
“I know what it’s like. The same with me, for real. Once I got in my head that I wanted to be Spider Man, I had to let go of so many things, that including girlfriends.”
“The price we have to pay to be successful.”
Their conversation went on about their careers, and they had so much in common when it came to that part of their lives. So that’s where they connected the most, and they went on about it for long minutes, until their order came, and they stopped talking and focused on the food.
“God, this is amazing!” She said, rolling her eyes in excitement. “I was so starving, and this is like medicine for the soul.”
“You’re so cute.”
“I know.” She did a cute face to him, and kept eating. “And the fries are so good.”
“The best, right? Oh, and try the milkshake.” She leaned to take a sip of the milkshake and moaned once she could finally taste it.
“I never wanna leave this place.”
They sat silent, just eating and feeling each other’s presence, but it was so comfortable, that it just felt so right. They finished the food and left the milkshake for last, so they finished it locking their gazes on each other. Tom was mesmerized by her and couldn’t take his eyes off her, because in that moment, she was all he could see.
“Okay, I’m so full that I don’t even know if I can take another glass of water.”
“Good, that’s where I wanted to get.” Tom smiled once again, he couldn’t stop smiling, and his face was hurting.
“Tommy.” She asked, leaning back on the booth.
“Yeah.”
“Can we kiss again? Cause you know, I can’t stop thinking about the one we did last night.”
He leaned forward and used one of his hands to bring her closer. It was a soft kiss, but it got much deeper once she licked his bottom lip, asking permission to explore his mouth. It was much different from the first one they had in the parking lot, but their first real kiss was just… perfect. After a nice lunch together, light conversation, ending with something they both craved the whole day. And so they stayed there, for a really long time, just kissing and talking, without being bothered, until it was almost dark.
“I think we need to go. Phineas is going to be worried.”
“And you need to rest, because you’ll have a big concert tomorrow.”
“I can sleep on the road, I just wanna be with you right now.”
“When will the tour be over?”
“In a month. We’ll end it up in London.” Tom nodded, heart already aching, knowing he would have to bear a long time without her.
“So why don’t you take some vacations once it is over? A little time in London. You can stay with me.”
“Okay, I like the idea.” She smiled and he kissed her again.
“Come on, let’s get you back.”
He paid for the food after that long discussion on she wanting to pay and he refusing to let her pay. He ended up paying for the food and she left a very good tip for Penelope, leaving her really happy. Tom drove (Y/N) home, trying to take forever to get to the destiny, just to stick around her a little more.
“You know Tom, once I’m gone tonight, we won’t be able to see each other for a long time.”
“I know, but I’m done with Spidey in two weeks. Maybe I can go meet you, wherever you are.”
“Would you do that for me?” Her eyes sparkled and he nodded.
“I’ve never been so sure of anything before in my life, (Y/N/N).”
“In two weeks I’ll be in San Francisco, and maybe if we squeeze really tight, we can share my bus bed.” He laughed with her and nodded.
“I wouldn’t mind at all.” She kissed him once again, one to last until the next time they see each other again.
“Call me. Don’t leave me on ghost Spidey.” She pointed to him. “We can FaceTime, and everything. So please, don’t be a stranger.”
“Never again.” He kissed her one last time before she opened the cars door.
“I’ll see you soon, okay?”
“Okay. Good night darling, and have a safe trip.”
“Good night Tommy.”
And as Tom watched (Y/N) walk away, he simply knew that it was the start of something special. Something that would last through eternity. And he was so excited to see what was coming next from this brand new relationship, once like he never had before.

They say that time heals all wounds, but why does it seem that as time goes on Peter and you drift farther apart. After Washington DC, you wanted to talk to Peter, waiting at his locker after school almost everyday, or stopping by at his place.
“Sorry Sweetie. I think he’s at Neds. You can come in and wait for him if you want, I was just making some dinner.” May said the 4th time you’d shown up at her door this week while Peter was out. You shook your head, matching her weak smile, obviously feeling bad for your predicament.
“Thanks May, but I just needed to talk about some school stuff. I’ll call him later or something.” You lied to her hoping she’ll believe you. You turned around, hearing the door close a few seconds later than it should’ve, meaning May was probably watching you walk away, pretending your head was spinning. You pulled out your phone, quickly sending a text to Ned asking if Peter was there. You were halfway down the block before he texted back saying he wasn’t. If there was one outcome from your almost death in DC it was that Ned forgave you. He told you that he didn’t care if Mr. Stark was your dad because you proved you were their friend and he would’ve never forgave himself if you had died from the fall and thought he hated you. You were still gloomy as you walked but you couldn’t help but smile at the memory of that night.
Ned had tried to convince Peter to talk to you, but he refused to. After Karen had told him to kiss you, he put more distance between you. Not completely sure what to do. He loved you, he knew that, but you lied to him, strung him along with this big secret and only told him when he found out himself. Ned tried to get him to see it from your side, Peter didn’t tell you he was Spider-Man.
“It’s different Ned!” He whispered, voice sharp against the loud cafeteria but only Ned was listening.
Ned rolled his eyes, glancing up to see you sitting next to MJ, staring at your food but not eating it. “Is it different Peter? I mean, Spider-Man is your secret identity and being a Stark is hers.”
“That’s not her secret identity Ned. It’s her name. It is different.” Peter countered before standing up at the sound of the bell, heading to his next class as you watched.
You knew May wasn’t lying to you when you asked about Peter, meaning Peter was probably on patrol. You wanted to look up, try and see a swing kid in a blue and red suit, but you held back, keeping your eyes on the street in front of you until you reach a familiar restaurant.
“Hey Y/N! Where’s Peter?” Mr. Delmar said as you pulled the door open. You gave him a smile, always happy to see the man who loves his customers.
“Hey Mr. Delmar. Uh, Peter’s around.” You felt your smile fall a little as he nodded his head, seemingly understanding what you’d meant.
“The usual?” He asked and you nodded your head as he started to make it. Your attention shifted to the door as it opened, Liz and Peter coming in as you met Peter’s eyes. So he wasn’t out on patrol. He was with Liz. You lowered your eyes, pretending you hadn’t seen them as Mr. Delmar handed you your sandwich.
“Oh hey Y/N!” You turned to face Liz, smiling at her as she gave you a hug.
“Hi Liz. Peter.” You nodded in his direction, trying to ignore the fact he hadn’t stopped staring at you. Stepping past them you left, Liz watched you leave before shrugging, turning to order. But Peter didn’t look away, watching you head down the street with the sandwich in your hand.
You tried to keep your head unclouded of thoughts of Liz and Peter but you hated it. He kissed you, but now he’s out with Liz? It made no sense. You ended up back home, trying to fix your suit as your dad tells you to try and pack your lab up for moving day. You rolled your eyes, focusing back on the tech in front of you as it started working again, earning a satisfied cheer from you before Pepper came down.
“Your dad says you spent all night in here.” She starts as you looked outside, seeing the sun come up a little through the window.
“Oh. I guess I did. Finally got the suit fixed. And I didn’t shock myself once.” You proudly state, standing up to stretch a little as Pepper laughed at all the cracks your body made.
“Congrats, now come on. You didn’t eat dinner last night and we all know how cranky you got when you don’t eat. There’s waffles upstairs.” You give her a smile, thanking her as you both walk up the steps, your arm wrapped around her waist as hers is thrown over your shoulder. Pepper had graciously stepped into the role of your mother after you showed up, taking care of you any way she could and always being there for you when you needed her. You didn’t know what you’d do without her.
“Waffles!” You yelled as you took a seat next to your dad and Rhodey as you dig into the plate, earning a few chuckles as your excitement. The rest of the morning was spent with everyone in the living room, hanging out and watching movies. You weren’t paying attention as your phone buzzed, several times until Nat had pointed it out.
“Hey, Ms. Popular. Tell them you’re busy.” She joked. You smirked before it fell reading all the texts from Ned across your screen.
Ned: Hey Y/N... so Peter would kill me if I said this but I think we could use your help.
Ned: so scratch that, I know we could use your help.
Ned: Y/N? Peter gonna get himself killed.
Ned: Y/N! Please answer!
The last text was information on ferry times and you got a bad feeling in your stomach.
“I gotta go.” You ran down to your suit, slipping it on before flying out, calling Ned.
“Y/N! Thank god!” He exclaimed as you headed towards the water.
“Ok Ned. Explain, what’s happening?” You knew you sounded annoyed but you were more worried.
“Well. Peter found out about a weapons deal here and so...”
“Say no more. I understand now.” Your eyes widened as you looked at the scene in front of you the ferry was being sliced in half by a ray. “Oh no. No. This is not good!” You yell as you get closer, seeing Peter begin to strap the boat together with his webs. “Peter!” Your mask comes off your face as Peter looks at you, the eyes on his suit expanding before he tilts his head, still trying to keep the boat from falling apart.
“Y/N? What are you doing here?”
“I came to help.”
“I don’t need your help.” He groaned as you came closer. “I can do this without you.”
You knew that nothing you could say would convince him otherwise so you nodded your head, believing he could do it but being sure to be there in case anything happens. In practically no time, he was done, webs everywhere holding the boat together as people’s screams stopped. For a half second you thought he did it. He saved the people and you felt relieved. That is until he started yelling at Karen and webs started snapping from the force on them. You held your breath. People were screaming and Peter was trying to fix his mistake. As fast as you could you were in the boat, trying your hardest to get people out of the way. When a little girl started screaming you were there in a second, pushing her as one of Peter’s web collided with your stomach. You were thrown back, smacking your head into the wall. As you tried to get back up, the boat moved, coming back together as you looked next to you, your fathers suit holding it in place and saving the day.
After the boat was taken care of, you and Peter exchanged worried glances before heading to a building with an awaiting flying suit. Peter got there before you, already in an argument with your dad’s tech as you landed.
“If you even cared, you’d actually be here!” Peter yelled before the suit opened, your dad walking out staring daggers at Peter as you both jump back.
“Shit.” You mumbled as Tony looked at you.
“I did listen. I called the FBI. Everyone said I was crazy to recruit a 14 year old kid and I was the only one who believed in you.” You could sense Tony getting angrier as Peter corrected him on his age. You tried to sneak away as he laid into Peter more, knowing that whatever he was saying to Peter, you would get the brunt of it later.
“Where do you think your going, young lady? You’re in just as much trouble.” You closed your eyes, turning around to face him once again as he turned to Peter, finishing his rant. “If you’re nothing without this suit then you shouldn’t have it.”
“I don’t have any more clothes.”
“We’ll sort it out. Now Y/N. What the hell were you thinking! Something like this happens, you tell me. You stay away and you tell me so I can take care of it. You don’t try to be the hero because that’s what can happen.”
“Dad-“
Tony glared at you as you stop talking, knowing it’s best not to interrupt him when he’s like this. “No. No! You could’ve died! People could’ve died. You’re not ready for this kind of mission. You couldn’t even watch over the kid!” Your eyes fell as Peter took a look at you, biting your lip while hearing your dad’s words. “You’re done.”
“What?” You shook your head, unsure of where he was going with this.
“You’re done on missions until you learn about the consequences. You’re done with that school and you’re grounded.” He yelled as you scoffed. Of course he’d ground you, you’d been in the tower your whole life, why not the rest of it.
“You can’t take me out of that school! It’s the only normal part of my life!”
“Normal? Y/N you finished school two years ago. I sent you to school on a mission and that’s long over.” He closed his eyes, pinching the bridge of his nose trying not to yell at you as he began to see your eyes start to water. Knowing you hated him yelling at you, he took a different approach. “Look bug, I can’t lose you. You coming out here to the kids rescue wasn’t smart and if that keeps happening then I can’t allow it. I’m sorry it has to be this way but i don’t seem to have another choice. Say bye to Parker and let’s go home.” You watched as he flew away, leaving you and Peter behind him as you both held back tears.
“I’m sorry.” Peter whispers as you finally meet his eyes. You bit your lip even more, not saying anything but not breaking eye contact. “I’m sorry.” He repeated.
“For what?” The weakness in both your voices haunted you. But you wouldn’t let Peter know how much it got to you. You hoped he would say he was sorry he yelled at you that night. That he was sorry he kissed you and then told you he never wanted to see you again. You hoped it was something along those lines.
“I’m sorry I couldn’t save everyone without your help, or Mr. Starks help.” He finished as you closed your eyes. So he wasn’t apologizing for leaving you.
“It’s not your job to save everyone, Peter.” You assured him as you went to walk away. You had no idea how much of this conversation you could have with him and your head was pounding from smashing into the wall. Peter just shook his, following after you before you made it to the edge of the building.
“Yes it is!”
“No! No it’s not!” You yelled, pointing a finger into his chest as you walked him backwards away from the edge. “I grew up watching my dad and my entire family be heroes. I watched the toll it took on them and I watch them not be able to come back from certain events. I might not have gone through it but they did. And it was my job to put them back together. And I will damned if I let you fall apart too. It’s not your job to save the world, to save everyone. Sometimes you gotta let them save themselves.”
Peter stared at you wide eyed, you didn’t know that was in you. You loved your family but after years of being the one to comfort them and make things better you had enough. Right now your emotions were coming out like a waterfall, uncontrolled and not stopping. You looked down at your shaking hand before stepping back, turning away from Peter as your heart started beating faster and your head felt like it was spinning faster than ever. Peter knew something was wrong the minute you turned around. He was quick you put a hand on your shoulder, turning you to face him before pulling you into him. He knew you were starting to have a panic attack, god knows he’s had more than one.
“I’m here. I’m here. You gotta breathe Y/N. In for 5, out for 5.” He whispered in your ear as you both fell to the ground. You listened, staying in that position for a few minutes , trying your best as you felt yourself become calmer, head pressed into his chest as you sat up. Peter felt your heart slow down as your eyes met, faces only a feet apart as you found yourself in Peter’s arms. You knew you should’ve moved. You knew that Peter was probably with Liz and he hated you, but you had to know.
“Peter.” You whispered, you hand falling onto his forearm as he looked down at it before moving back up to your E/C eyes.
“Yeah?”
“I can live my entire life knowing you hate me. But not if you don’t. I can’t live knowing you don’t.” You admitted, finally pulling away from his eyes as you bit your lip again, to afraid of what he might say. When he didn’t say anything you looked up again, seeing the gloss outlining his eyes that wasn’t there before.
“What do you want me to say?” He croaked, voice cracking as you let a shaky breath come out.
“Say you love me. Say you love me or say you don’t because I am tired of playing this game with you.” He didn’t say anything after that. The only thing he did was pull your lips to his. You kissed Peter back without a second thought as tears ran down your faces again. How is it the two times you kissed you were both crying, feeling broken together. At this point you weren’t sure where Peter’s tears ended versus yours, both combined on each other faces as you kissed. You pulled away first, finding your breath as your lips tingled.
“I can’t.” And just like that you were snapped back to reality.
“W-What? You can’t what?” You stammered and hoped you didn’t let your voice crack to much.
“I can’t say I love you because I don’t.” He lied, unknown to you. You felt your heart shatter. Everything you thought you knew fallen into a million pieces in front of you and you couldn’t put them back together. You held back more tears as you nodded your head. Standing up as Peter followed suit. You didn’t look at him, eyes casted onto the city around you as your phone buzzed.
“Dad wants the suit.” You mumbled putting your phone back into your pocket as Peter nodded, letting a tear hit the ground as he wiped the others. He needed clothes so telling him to stay there, you flew down to the gas station beside you, buying the only things in there that would fit him. The shirt was a simple find, but pants were harder. Everything seemed to run way smaller than Peter could fit or way to big, settling on a pair of Hello Kitty pants that looked to fit. Heading back up, Peter had began to lose the suit, putting on your new clothes as you grabbed the spider suit. Your eyes met once more before you brought him to an empty alley. You turned to walk away before stopping, letting a stray tear travel down your face as you met his equally wet gaze. “Have a nice life Pete.” You flew off, leaving Peter to walk home alone in pajamas and tears.
Your dad was by your side the moment you entered your lab, tossing Peter’s suit in his face before retracting your suit.
“Look Y/N. We have to talk.” He started before you swiveled in your chair, glaring at him.
“No. I’m done talking. I’m done being an avenger if I can’t actually be an avenger. I’m done with the stupid tech and the stupid missions an the stupid boy who thinks he can just break my stupid heart! I’m done with it!” You yell as you push everything off your desk. The only sounds in the room was the clatter of the objects, Tony staying silent after your outburst. You felt your head exploded, about to pass out as you gripped the desk in front of you and clasped your eyes shut. Your head was spinning as Tony put his hands on your shoulders trying to steady your swaying body as you pushed him off, eyes heavy when you faced him. “I’m done.” You whispered once more, heading up to your room as you left your mess in the lab, your suit somewhere amongst it. The moment you collapsed onto your bed you were out, the day taking its toll on you quick.
Your alarm didn’t go off the next morning. Or the one after that or the one after that. Tony was getting worried. You’d spend most of your time in your room or on your balcony staring off into the sky. You only came out for meals, hardly saying anything before you locked yourself back up. He didn’t know what happened after he left, only what he said to you but there was no way this was because of that. He tried to talk to you so many times but you would just stare right through him. Soon he told you you weren’t grounded anymore to see if you would leave or his daughter would come back to being this ball of light, but you didn’t.
You hadn’t seen any of your friends in a while, barely texting anyone besides Ned. You texted him everyday. No one else knew the real reason why you just disappeared besides him and Peter and it didn’t seem like he was going to do much talking to you. Ned kept trying to convince you that Peter cared for you, but when you told him what really happened after The boat incident, he had nothing to say. The only thing he had said was a quick ‘Peter lied’ before the texting stopped that day. You didn’t think anything of it, assuming he was just busy with school work or something. But today it was like he wouldn’t shut up.
Ned: Come on Y/N! It’s homecoming! You have to go!
Y/N: i don’t even go to that school anymore Ned. I can’t.
Ned: You could go as my date. And it’s fine as long as I fill out some stupid paperwork.
You grinned at his bargain, seriously thinking of going with him until Peter made his way into your head.
Y/N: what about Peter? I’m sure he wouldn’t like me hogging his best friend all night.
Ned: ...
Ned: Peter’s actually taking Liz
You felt your heart stop. Of course he’s taking Liz, he’d be crazy not too. The next thing you did could’ve probably been the best decision of your life or the worst. It could go either way.
Y/N: Fine. Ok. I’ll go to Homecoming.

Trust Me
Tumblr media
words: 976
pairing: Peter Parker x Reader
warnings: none?
Tags: @qwacksonklaxon @gondorgirl01
A/N: This is the second part of my new mini series for Peter. You can read the first part here and the third part can be found here. I hope you guys like it and if you have any requests for me you can shoot me a message or send it to my ask box: here  :)
I sighed as I dangled my feet off of the balcony and leaned against the railing. My eyes watched the sun as it slowly set into the horizon and music played softly from my stereo. I had changed from my clothes I had worn at school to an old t-shirt and sweatpants, but I kept the navy blue cardigan I had been wearing.
Everything was calm and quiet until something, rather someone landed on my balcony beside me. The red and blue suit that was always on the news was familiar to me, Spiderman.
“Sorry! I didn’t watch were I was landing,” I heard a slightly muffled voice say as he dusted himself off.
“No problem, Spiderboy,” I mumbled as I briefly glanced at him and looked back at the fading sunset.
“You should probably head inside, it’s going to get pretty chilly out here once the sun is completely set.”  He suggested as he leaned against the railing and looked down at me.
“I’ll be fine, I’ve been in colder weather in thinner clothing,” I hummed as I kept my eyes on the horizon.
“Nice cardigan, you go to Midtown?” He asked as he pointed out the school’s logo that was stitched onto the right side of the cardigan.
“I do. Thanks but this is my,” I realized it would be the first time I would actually confirm it was over between Peter and I. “This is my, uh, ex’s sweater.”
“If it’s your ex’s why do you still have it? Don’t people throw away things once a relationship is over?”
“They usually do, but I guess I’m still holding on to the past,” I fumbled with the hem of the cardigan and then laughed dryly, “I guess I still love him…”
“If you still love him why’d you break up?”
“He was becoming really distant and he always blew off all of our dates. Said because he had this Stark internship but, honestly, with all the whispers between him and Ned, his best friend, and the secrets he kept from me…” I gulped the lump that was beginning to form in my throat, “I thought he trusted me, but I guess I thought wrong.. So I thought it was better if we broke up, I wouldn’t have to worry about him anymore and he’d be able to focus fully on whatever he was actually doing. But I still think about him y’know? You never really get over your first heartbreak..” Tears had blurred my vision my the time I was done venting, and I wiped them away with the sleeves of the cardigan.
I laughed humorlessly, “I’m sorry you had to hear my sob story, I don’t usually talk about anything with anyone.”
“Have you tried talking with him?”
“Once. I was going to confront him about it, but I had seen that he already had moved on from me. So I gave up, I’ve been avoiding him ever since.” I murmured as I wiped my eyes again with my sleeve.
“I-I don’t know much about the guy, but maybe you should give him a chance to explain everything then maybe decide whether you should stay on your separate ways or if you should give him a second chance to prove himself.” He suggested as he began getting up from his seat beside me.
I stood up and wrapped my arms around myself and looked at him questioningly, “You think so?”
“Yeah, you never know. Sometimes we keep secrets so our loved ones don’t get hurt,” he shrugged and nodded.
“I’ll think about it,” I offered a crooked smile to him, “Thanks for listening, Spiderman.”
“See ya around!” He waved and shot out a web before swinging away.
Maybe he was right, just let Peter talk about what happened and then I could decide whether I could take him back or if I was right and that we were better off on our own ways. But what if he was only going to lie to me again? Could I really trust Peter to tell me the truth after all the lies and stand ups?  Could I run the risk of having my heart broken again by him? Once was already hard to deal with, but another heartbreak from him would kill me.
I ruffled my hair as I began to overthink things again, maybe I'll let him explain but not anytime soon. Sighing, I flopped onto my bed before drifting off into a restless slumber.
Peter’s POV
She still loves me.
I sat on the rooftop of the apartment building, my feet dangling from the edge. Now I had to think how I'd tell ______ everything that was going on and hopefully we would be back together again. It wasn’t going to be easy, but I was going to do everything I could to get ______ to fully trust me again.
Ned’s ridiculous ringtone broke me away from my thoughts as I answered.
“Hey Ned,” I answered
“How’d it go with _____?”
“It worked! Well sort of, she said she’d be willing to listen to what I- Peter, has to say. I have a chance to make everything right again!”
“See? What’d I tell you? You should have just used Spiderman from the start.”
“I know, but better late than never, right? But I can’t just be like ‘Hey _____ I’m Spiderman.’ ”
“Why not?”
“Cause what if she freaks out? And tells everyone? Or what if she thinks I’m lying? And hates me for not telling her?”
“Well she’s already mad at you for not telling her. You’re Spiderman. Just pop in as him again and take off your mask in front of her and boom you have her back.”
“... I’ll tell her tomorrow. I hope you’re right, because if not, I’m going to be in so much trouble.”
“It’ll work out, trust me.”

To say Peter and Ned were confused by your actions from the previous day would be a complete and utter lie, in fact, they were dumbfounded, skeptical, suspicious.
There hadn't been a day in your life when you would just ditch school and leave, especially during the day, you were a nerd like them, so when they watched you sprint out like it was the only thing that mattered, it sparked something within them that you were either not okay, or you were hiding something.
"Hey, hey.. Ned, I just noticed Y/N isn't on the bus. Y/N never misses the bus." Peter spoke up, tapping his friends face who was currently focused on his phone and the music blaring into his ears, until he was interrupted by a hand hitting his cheek, and eye.
Ned turned around, now observing the bus as well, his eyebrows furrowing in confusion, where were you?
"What is going on with Y/N? First ditching school, now not being on the bus?" Ned started to count things off on his fingers as Peter leaned against the window, trying to come up with almost anything to make sense of your strange behavior.
The bus ride wasn't long until Peter and Ned got to the school, both of them trying to figure out reasons as to why you weren't there, until they saw you, at your locker.
"Y/N?" Peter questioned aloud, causing you to turn and look at who was calling your name.
"Oh, hey you guys!" You smiled, grabbing your trigonometry textbook, along with your bottle of water before shutting your locker.
"How come you weren't on the bus? You never miss the bus." Ned blurted out, while Peter visibly cringed at how straight forward he was being.
"Ah! Yeah, sorry about that, I had to come in early, Mr. Matthew's wanted to see me about my Econ paper." You rolled your eyes in annoyance, making Peter and Ned chuckle slightly.
"I'm sorry you had to suffer with him this morning, he can be a real pain. Were you trying to bump your grade up?" Ned grinned, as you nodded your head in response, letting out a sigh.
"Needless to say it was a waste of my time, asking for a grade bump is like finding a needle in a haystack." You groaned, as the bell for first period rang, making you groan once more, not wanting to go to class.
"I'll see you guys later, have fun in English." You teased them both, a smile on your face as you gave a small wave, before departing ways and turning to head to your class.
However, you could still feel a pair of eyes on your back as you walked away, making you anxious and annoyed, causing your jaw to clench.
He was curious, and you couldn't afford that.
"Did you see how Y/N acted?" Peter questioned his friend who shook his head in confusion, glancing back to see you were already gone.
"No, why? What did I miss?" Ned raised his eyebrow at his friend who was biting his lip harshly.
"Y/N is hiding something, it's clear as day, and for some reason, Y/N doesn't want us to know what it is." Peter spoke, now looking at Ned with a serious expression on his face, before they both headed to class themselves.
You on the other hand were twitching in your chair the entire first two periods, you had been given new orders from your boss, it was a more intense and risky job this time.
You were assigned to rob three banks in one night without getting caught, and if someone were to try and stop you, you had orders to kill them on the spot.
It was a lot to ask of you so early on, but he wanted you to prove your dedication, your loyalty to the job, so this was the test.
"Y/N, you're zoning out again, this is like the fifth time you've done this, are you alright?" Peter snapped his fingers in your face, making you blink rapidly, your eyes flickering up to meet his.
"What? Oh, uh, yeah, I'm fine! Just tired is all, I stayed up late working on a project for my new club that I joined." You lied straight through your teeth, trying to make it sound believable.
Peter however was studying you like a hawk, and with his Spidey senses he could pick up on things others usually couldn't, like the fact that you were clearly lying to his face.
"Oh really? What project?" Peter questioned, raising an eyebrow at you in curiosity, making you suck in your bottom lip, trying to come up with an idea.
Peter thought he had gotten you caught in a lie, but you were quick to come up with an answer, making his fists clench together in frustration.
"It's actually quite a cool project, we're doing something like a family tree, but instead of it being a tree, it's a web," You explained, grabbing a napkin and a pen drawing out the diagram, "so basically it's like a spider web, and the title of it is called 'Spinning the Web' which is actually pretty creative if you ask me." You grinned, now have drawn out the diagram and showing it to Peter and Ned.
Peter on the other hand couldn't believe you were going that deep into covering your tracks, making him now more than ever wanting to know what this big secret of yours was that you were keeping from him.
"Well, I'm happy for you Y/N, you seem to be having fun, even if it is without us." Ned teased, making you laugh, causing you to almost choke on your sip bottled water.
You all continued on talking throughout the rest of lunch, until the bell rang, signaling it was time to get back to class, which you were so ready to be done with so you could get on with your assignment.
"Y/N, quick question, what's this club called again?" Peter asked you as you all were walking down the hallway.
"Oh, right! I never did get to tell you! It's called the Wish Club." You smiled happily, before saying your goodbyes to your friends and entering your classroom, leaving Ned and Peter to go to theirs.
"Why have I never heard of this club before?" Ned questioned his friend, as Peter was thinking the exact same thing.
"Because that club doesn't exist dumbass, Y/N made it up." Michelle chimed in, startling Peter and Ned, who turned around instantly, seeing Michelle standing there unamused.
"If that club doesn't exist, why did Y/N lie to us?" Ned spoke his thoughts aloud, his mind coming up with a million possibilities.
"More importantly, what doesn't Y/N want us to know?" Peter mumbled, walking into his classroom, there was no way he could focus on anything else now.
This went deeper than he thought.

Web of Lies (Part 4)
Pairing: Peter Parker x Reader

You could of sworn time was going in slow motion as you stared at the clock, your leg twitching in anticipation for the final bell to ring so you could get the hell out of what you considered school to be, prison.
Tonight was the night you finally proved to your boss your dedication to your work, that you were loyal and committed to this job and everything that came with it.
You sucked in your bottom lip as you watched the clock hit three, the final bell ringing throughout the school, everyone eager to get out and be free for the weekend, while you on the other hand were eager to grab your belongings and get out before Peter and Ned got in the way.
For the past few days you'd been avoiding them, totally cutting them off to your life as if they'd never been apart of it in the first place.
At first it was hard, they'd be waiting at your locker for you in the mornings, so you'd simply turn the other way and wait till they left so you could grab your belongings, or when lunch came around, you'd sit at a different table and they'd stare at you from across the cafeteria, confusion on their faces as to why you weren't sitting with them.
It even got to the point where they were trying to trap you into talking to them, one of them would walk down one hallway, the other walking down another that way you couldn't avoid them, but none less you found a way out of it.
You even ignored their calls and text messages, which genuinely pissed them off even more, not knowing why you suddenly dropped them like they were nothing to you.
But you believed that this was the only way, it was the only way to keep them safe from your job, and you in general, your alter ego was a dangerous person, and if you accidently hurt one of them you'd never forgive yourself.
So, you chose the option to cut them off, to make them hate you, to make them want to avoid you that way they wouldn't get caught in the crossfire.
Deep down it did hurt you though, they were your only friends besides Liz who unfortunately had to move away.
But maybe you were better off this way, being a lone wolf doing your own thing independently with nobody to interfere and ruin it or cause issues.
Your mind was a jumble of thoughts, making it hard sometimes to focus on the important things, but you were quick to get yourself out of it as you made it to your locker, putting in your code before shoving your books in, taking the ones you needed out and slamming it shut.
You grabbed your phone out of your bag, checking the time, seeing that you had exactly fifteen minutes to get home, grab your gear, and get to your boss on time to get the rest of your instructions.
At least that was the plan until you felt a hand grasp your wrist, causing you to jerk your arm back, anger rising in the pit of your stomach.
Who the hell had the audacity to grab you like that, you thought to yourself as you turned to face your attacker.
"Y/N, we need to talk." Peter spoke, his voice low as you gave him a slight glare, which didn't seem to phase him at all.
"No. Peter, we really don't, and I actually have somewhere I need to be or I'm going to be late, so would you kindly let go of me?" You replied back, sarcasm laced in your voice as your eyes flickered down to his hand still firm on your wrist.
Peter gave a slight thought to it, but refused to let go, causing your anger to turn into rage, he was screwing up your plans, and you couldn't afford to be late on the biggest day of your career.
"Why have you been avoiding me? What did I do wrong? Surely something happened because you're avoiding me like the plague." Peter bombarded you all at once, making you feel slight guilt, but at the same time you had to remember why you did it all in the first place.
"Alright. Fine. I'll tell you why, it's because I can't stand to be around you or Ned anymore, all you guys are doing is holding me down and I can't have that anymore. Ever since Liz left, you both have clung to me like your lives depended on it and I'm tired of it." You spat at him, your words dripping like venom as Peter's face fell, causing your heart to break.
"Y-You don't mean that.." He whispered, his eyes searching yours frantically to see if there was a split chance you were bluffing, but you refused to look at him, instead shaking your head, letting out a bitter laugh.
"No. I do. In fact, I only became friends with you because I felt bad for you, being the nerd of the school and all.." You trailed off, watching his mouth drop open in shock by your words.
"Now if you'll excuse me, I have to go, you've already caused me five minutes." You growled out, ripping your wrist from his grasp, before storming off, your heart pounding in your chest as tears pricked your eyes, you were sure now, if not certain, Peter Parker hated you, and it was all your own doing.
You still managed however to get to your boss on time, even after the incident with Peter, you had a minute to spare, which made your knees go weak, you didn't know what would happen if you showed up late.
"So, here's the plan for tonight, you're going to rob three banks, I want you to get one million dollars from each bank, we need it for future projects, and if anyone gets in your way of doing so, kill them." Your boss stated firmly, as you replied with a "Yes sir." Before grabbing the bags you were to use to put money in.
"Oh and Y/N." Your boss spoke up, stopping you from leaving, causing you turn back around to look at him.
"If you do this, you'll officially be apart of this team, so don't fuck it up. We could use someone like you with your powers and knowledge." Your boss stated, as you nodded in response, your hands becoming sweaty.
You waited until nightfall to start your task, you swiftly put on your disguise, a mask covering your eyes, along with a dark body suit that hugged your figure.
Your powers were something that fascinated you, you had telekinesis, which was the ability to move objects at a distance by mental power or other nonphysical means, but you also had the ability to shape shift, which your alter ego had done some previous nights ago to a lady.
You and your alter ego were two completely different people, total opposite personalities, that is if you let that part of you come out to play.
Nightfall had now fallen over the city of Queens, which was the perfect time to make your move.
You swiftly jumped from building to building until you came to a bank on the corner, across from a deli shop, which you loved, Mr. Delmar's sandwiches were the best in Queens.
You carefully went into the bank, starting to hack into the system, occasionally checking to see if anyone was watching, which you were glad nobody was or that would end badly for them.
Once you extracted one million dollars, you made your move to the next bank, but before you left you made sure to leave your signature mark, a symbol that represented your alter ego.
Once having done that you were off to the next bank, which was a bit harder to break into, but you managed to do so anyways, however, there were a few unlucky guards that had to pay the price.
You killed all four of them without flinching, as you made your way to the vault, not caring if you set off any alarms, you were in the zone now.
You grabbed another million in cash, leaving your symbol once more before heading off to your last target.
This bank was even more guarded than the last two you had just robbed, mainly because it was an underground bank, but you were always up for a challenge.
You decided you were just going to walk in, go straight for the kill, which you did, and the guards did their best to fight back, but against you and your powers, they were nothing.
You grabbed the last guard by the collar of his shirt, dragging him to the vault as you took his thumb, pressing it onto the scanner to unlock the large metal door.
"Thank you.. Harold.. But now that you've done your job, you're no longer valuable to me, therefore, no longer needed." You grinned evilly, listening to his pleas, but you ignored them, using your powers to snap his neck in a swift motion.
You then went in and gathered the last of the money you needed, before walking out of the bank, a smile on your face as you felt the victory in the palms of your hands.
At least you did at first.
Your eyebrows furrowed as you felt something sticky land on your hand, causing your head to snap up to see the cause of the issue.
A smile made its way onto your lips as you saw the familiar red and blue colors, the colors that belonged to the one and only Spider-Man.
"I'm sorry but that money doesn't belong to you, it belongs to those banks you robbed." Spider-Man stated, yanking your hand which caused the bags of money to fall out of your grasp.
"Well, Spidey, you see this is now my money, so I'm actually going to take it and be off." You replied back, trying to get the disgusting web off your hand.
Spider-Man let out a low chuckle, shaking his head as he jumped down from where he was hiding, coming into a clear view.
"No, you're not. In fact, I'm going to return all of this money, and turn you in where you'll be locked up for good and not able to hurt anyone else." Spider-Man crossed his arms, watching you intently.
"Over my dead body." You threatened, using your powers to throw a large stone block at Spider-Man, who quickly dodged it.
Spider-Man then took this as an opportunity to web up your legs, which he did get one, causing you to fall, angering you.
You then used your powers to draw over a sharp object, cutting the web from you, before levitating multiple sharp objects, causing Spider-Man's eyes to widen on his mask, seeing all the objects being thrown at him.
However, he wasn't that lucky, his arm and leg getting cut in the process of getting away.
"Had enough yet Spidey?" You challenged, searching around the darkened room to see where he was.
"Never. Not until I have you in jail where you belong." He spat back at you, making you chuckle darkly.
You caught him out of the corner of your eye, swinging in on one of his webs, but you were a step ahead of him, levitating a bolder and throwing it into him, causing him to fall and hit the ground harshly.
"I have orders to follow, and that's to kill anyone who gets in my way. Which means that's the end for Spider-Man, I hope they remember you." You grinned down at him, as he let out a groan.
You then used your powers to cause the pillars surrounding you both to start to crumble, and before you knew it they were falling, and without hesitation you grabbed your money, taking one last look over your shoulder, seeing Spider-Man trying to get up, but instead getting trapped underneath the debris of the fallen pillars.
And there you left, without second thought, leaving Spider-Man to die.

"Hold on, what!" Ned shouted, staring at his friend in disbelief as Peter shushed him, looking around to make sure nobody had heard him.
"You're just now telling me that you were trapped underneath pounds of debris?" Ned scolded Peter, his eyes wide as Peter seemed a bit zoned out, deep in thought.
"I barely made it out of there Ned, it was real bad." Peter admitted, his focus on the ground, visions of the previous night replaying in his mind.
Just thinking about it gave Peter chills, he hated how vulnerable he had felt, how alone, and helpless he was in that current moment, trapped underground with nobody coming to his rescue.
"Peter, how did you even get into that situation?" Ned questioned as they both entered the school building, making their way to their lockers.
"It's this new villain, their strong Ned, they have powers that I've never witnessed before, they can move things with their mind." Peter spoke in a hushed tone, glancing around to make sure nobody overheard him.
Ned on the other hand was staring at his friend wide eyed once more, his mouth hanging open slightly as Peter's words processed through his head.
"So, you're telling me we have some wizard villain shit going on?" Ned whisper shouted at Peter, his voice laced with panic but with a slight hint of excitement.
"I mean.. I guess so? I don't really know, like I said, I've never seen them before, they're new. But what I do know is they're extremely dangerous." Peter let out a sigh, rubbing his chest slightly, wincing as he took a breath in.
During the fight with you, he got a few injuries, one being a couple of bruised ribs, along with a few cuts here and there.
Ned gave Peter a look, concern flooding his features as he quickly realized that Peter had gotten hurt in this fight.
"Peter.. I know you want to be.. you know.. the hero.. and all, but don't you think this is a bit too far? This was one thing when it was the vulture, but maybe you should let Iron Man take this one." Ned suggested, watching as Peter shook his head in disagreement.
"No way!" Peter exclaimed, as he started to walk to their first period class, "I'm not letting this new enemy of mine get away with what they're doing all because I get a few injuries here and there." Peter clenched his fists around his backpack straps as Ned let out a loud sigh.
Peter was about to continue his rant, until he felt the hairs on his arms stand up, causing his eyebrows to furrow.
Normally his Spidey senses only went off when their was something bad happening, or when someone bad was approaching him, giving him the heads up.
But this was at school? What or who was triggering his Spidey senses?
Peter stopped walking, causing Ned to bump into him, causing him to glance at Peter in confusion.
"What's going on? Were going to be late." Ned stated, motioning towards the clock that hung above the lockers.
"Somethings wrong. I can feel it Ned." Peter mumbled, his eyes searching for whatever could be causing this feeling.
"Do you think it's someone in the school?" Ned commented, trying to help in some sort of way, you know, being the guy in the chair.
Peter was about to reply, until his eyes landed on you, as you turned the corner to come down the hall, a serious expression on your face as you were focused on your phone, your thumbs typing away quickly.
The closer you approached Peter, the stronger the feeling got, causing Peter's heart to start beating quicker.
"Dude, what's wrong?" Ned questioned, noticing Peter's frozen figure, his gazed locked on you, as to which Ned followed, now putting two and two together.
With Peter's eyes still fixated on you, you couldn't help but feel the stare of someone, causing you to glance up, just to meet the gaze of the person you've done your best to avoid.
Your eyes scanned over his face, your eyebrows furrowing when you noticed a scratch mark above his eyebrow, and a slight mark on his right cheek bone.
Peter watched you intensely, becoming slightly insecure as he noticed you were checking him out, totally forgetting he forgot to cover up a few battle marks from the previous night.
Your mind however was filling up with multiple questions, but you quickly brushed them aside, there was no way.
You gave him one more quick glance over, before continuing your way down the hall, heading to your first period class, but the entire way there, you couldn't help but feel as if Peter somehow knew about you.
However, Peter still stood frozen in the hallway, breathing rapidly when his arm hairs went back down the second you left, causing him to start panicking.
"Peter, buddy, what's wrong?" Ned questioned, seeing that Peter was on the verge of a breakdown right in the middle of the school hallway.
Peter didn't even know what to say, or what to think for that matter, what he just experienced made him confused, angry, and more than anything, upset.
Peter grabbed Ned's arm, dragging him into a bathroom, checking to make sure they were alone before turning to face Ned, who was clearly unamused that Peter had now made him late to class.
"Okay, what I'm about to tell you is going to sound crazy, but.." Peter trailed off, running his fingers through his curls as Ned urged him to continue.
"When we were about to walk into class, I stopped because I felt my Spidey senses go off right? Well, right after they did Y/N came around the corner, and the closer Y/N came to me, the stronger I felt it." Peter blurted out, as Ned stood speechless.
"And the second we made eye contact it was as if Y/N was studying me." Peter continued on, now pacing around the empty bathroom.
"But what really got me was the second Y/N left, my Spidey senses went away, basically telling me that the enemy was no longer within distance of me." Peter explained, now leaning against one of the bathroom stalls, glancing up at his friend.
Ned didn't know what to say, or frankly what to do, this hadn't ever happened to them before, let alone have a friend possibly be the enemy.
"Are you saying what I think you're saying?" Ned carefully questioned, looking at Peter who was biting his lip harshly.
"I think there's a chance Y/N isn't the Y/N we think we know." Peter stated, his eyes focused on the tile floor.
Ned let out breath he didn't know he was holding in, as Peter lifted his head up, looking at his friend with a serious expression on his face.
"Clearly Y/N is hiding something, whatever it is we don't know, but Y/N is sure doing a hell of a lot to not have us find out." Peter spoke aloud, his eyebrows furrowed in concentration.
"I think there's a darker side to Y/N than we wanted to admit." Peter confessed, as Ned's eyebrows shot up at his words.
"We're going to find out what the hell is going on." Peter declared, grabbing his backpack off the bathroom floor.
"Whether Y/N wants us to or not."
I apologize for how lame this part is, it's more of a filler chapter, the next parts will be way more exciting and angsty and overall just a lot better lol. I hope you all still enjoyed this part though!

“So, who do you think was watching us last night?” Ned whispered, walking next to Peter as he carried his books in his hands.
Peter had gotten his backpack stolen, again, thus why he was carrying all his belongings, but his main focus was the crime scene they were both currently passing by.
“Damn, now that it’s light out, this is really bad.” Ned spoke aloud, snapping Peter’s attention to focus on his friend.
“I know, that’s why we need to figure out who is behind all of this, it was clearly a message, but to who I have no idea.” Peter looked around at the scene in front of him, before walking off with Ned to school.
They both arrived to class, you were already sitting at your seat, looking over notes, making Peter and Ned both roll their eyes at you. It was normal for you to be that extra nerd.
Peter and Ned both sat down next to you, startling you for a brief second, before you looked up and saw their playful judging stares.
“Hey, I’m going to ace this test alright? You might not because you don’t take the time to actually study, but I do.” You grinned, making Peter snort in response and Ned just let out a dramatic huff.
Your teacher soon arrived, passing out the test, and you were pretty confident you were going to ace it like you said, but for Peter and Ned, you could tell they were struggling, which made you give them both a small smirk, in which they gave you a playful glare back.
The first two classes went by quick, which you were thankful for, as much as you enjoyed learning and being one of the smart ones in the school, you needed lunch, you needed food, you needed freedom.
You sat down at your familiar table, giving Michelle a small wave as she gave you a questioning look, before diving her nose back into her new book.
Soon Peter and Ned both joined you, talking about some Lego Death Star thing Ned had just gotten and how excited he was to build it.
“Y/N, do you want to join us later to build it? It’ll be fun.” Ned wiggled his eyebrows, making you laugh and shake your head.
“I can’t actually, I’ve joined this new club and my first day is actually today.” You grinned, taking a bite out of your apple, seeing both their curious stares.
“What club? Since when did you join anything other than the Academic Decathlon team?” Peter questioned, looking at Ned who was also interested in knowing about this ’new club’ you had suddenly joined.
You looked between the two of them, giving a small shrug, continuing to eat your apple.
“I don’t know, I just wanted to branch out a bit, explore what else is out there.” You smiled, as they both looked at you a bit skeptically, making you laugh.
“Okay look, it’s like what you’re doing Peter, it’s like your Stark Internship, just not as epic because well, it’s not with the Tony Stark.” You explained, making Peter’s eyes widen slightly.
“Oh, well, seems fun, maybe we should join too?” Ned piped up, making you almost spit your water out, which didn’t go unnoticed by Peter.
“No! -I mean, -it’s just, I love you guys and all.. But I need something for myself.. You know?” You tried to cover up your frantic expression, making Ned nod slightly in agreement.
“I guess you’re right.” Ned admitted, glancing at Peter who was focused on you, he could tell something was off, but couldn’t place his finger on it.
You felt your phone buzz, your face growing serious for a split second as you read the message.
“I have to go. If someone asks for me just say I went home early or something.” You told the two of them, their faces scrunching up with confusion.
“-Wait, Y/N! Where are you going?” Ned asked, but you were already throwing your lunch away, quickly exiting the cafeteria.
Peter had no idea why you needed to leave so suddenly, it was unlike you to just get up and ditch school.
“What was that about?” Ned muttered, looking at Peter who’s gaze was still fixed on the door.
“I have no idea Ned, no idea.” He muttered back, looking at his friend who was just as confused.
They say vengeance is a dish best served cold but, sometimes it’s as warm as a bowl of soup.
“You’re late.” The voice boomed across the dark room, making you sigh and kick a rock on the floor.
“I was in school, it’s not exactly easy to sneak out.” You defended, crossing your arms as you looked into the pure darkness.
“You are committed though, I will give you that.” The male voice continued, making you grin slightly.
“Was it enough?” You questioned, pressing the mysterious man to give you the answer you’ve been dying to know.
“Yes. You start tonight.” His voice echoed in the darkness, you wanted to squeal with excitement, but you couldn’t afford to let that side show through.
“Come with me, I’ll tell you what you need to know.” The male voice instructed, and you did what he said, disappearing into the darkness, but not before you felt your phone vibrate in your pocket, pulling it out to see you had two missed calls from Peter.
You heard the male getting impatient, so you quickly shut your phone off.
No more distractions.
This is not a story about forgiveness.

Web of Lies (Part 9)

Y/SV/N = your super villain name
Tumblr media
Peter blinked rapidly at the words that left your mouth, had he heard you correctly? Did you say what he thought you said? He had to of been hallucinating right?
His eyes slowly flickered down to your hand which was in your grasp, his palm growing hot at your touch, this was real, he wasn't hallucinating.
Within an instant he quickly yanked his hand out of yours, taking a few steps back as you stared at him, a mischievous glint in your eyes that he'd never seen before.
"Y/N... W-Why would you say that?" Peter hesitantly asked, now standing a good few feet away from you beside Ned who stayed silent, not wanting to get anymore in the way than he already was.
A dark laugh emerged from your lips, your head shaking in response at his question, as you locked eyes with him once more.
"You really think I'm an idiot don't you? That I wouldn't figure out what you've been up to for these past few months? News flash Parker, nobody can magically do a one eighty over night and become a new person." You snapped at him, your arms crossed as Peter's face visibly paled.
"You don't think I didn't pay attention to all those times you and Ned had those hushed conversations that I wasn't included in? Or how you'd slip out at random times of the day? Or how you'd come back the following day with cuts and bruises?" You continued to pressure him, trying to get under his skin to make him feel on edge, to make him feel exposed.
Peter shifted anxiously under your gaze, everything you had said was true, but that's not what made chills go down his spine, it was the fact that you had known about his secret for a lot longer than he had expected, meaning you were always steps ahead of him, as if this was all one big plan.
"I don't know what you're talking about Y/N, people change, they grow up." Peter tried to defend himself, shrugging his shoulders as well before crossing his arms as he sent you a glare.
"You're so full of shit Parker." You seethed, your eyes sending daggers his way as he watched you carefully.
"If I'm so full of shit, then so are you. You're just as guilty as I am." Peter all but growled out at you, causing your eyebrows to raise at his tone.
"Maybe, but you already knew that right?" You countered, tilting your head to the side, a smug smile on your lips.
Peter sent you a glare, his fists clenching in anger as you stood in front of him, his once best friend, who he loved and did everything together with was now his enemy, and trying to kill him.
"You want to know how I found out your little secret?" You taunted him, a smirk on your lips as Peter rolled his eyes, but gave a slight nod, earning a delighted sound from you.
"It was a while back actually, the night the lady got attacked, I came over and the first thing you brought up was if I had heard about what happened. You knew so much, about the situation it was as if you had been there, and from that moment on I became suspicious, soon enough after I fought the "famous" Spider-Man, and then it all started to fall into place like a puzzle." You grinned, letting out a short laugh, causing Ned to flinch and Peter to roll his eyes.
"The way Spider-Man acted was how you acted, the way he talked was how you talked, and you want to know the best part of it all?" You questioned, your eyes pouring into Peter's intently, not waiting for his response.
"I knew you were Spider-Man because deep down you knew who I secretly was, and it drove you insane to think that your best friend could be your enemy," You let out a short laugh before continuing, "But, you had to be sure, so, you started to question everything I did, and it wasn't until you broke into my house that you found the proof you needed." You stated, all your jumbled up thoughts leaving your head as it filled up Peter's.
"You just didn't want to admit it to yourself." You concluded, your voice seemingly softer this time, causing his eyes to flicker up to finally look at you.
Peter was quiet for a minute while Ned watched anxiously, you were also his best friend, but there was a difference between him and Peter, he had accepted that you were Y/SV/N, whereas Peter hadn't.
The room was filled with an unbearable amount of tension, so thick you could cut it with a knife.
A few more minutes passed before Peter cleared his throat, his arms crossed as he chewed on his bottom lip, trying to process everything in his mind.
"You do realize you left me to die right? You left your best friend to die Y/N." Peter whispered, his voice quiet as he spoke, unable to stop it from cracking at the end.
He was hoping that maybe, just maybe it would trigger something in you, something good if you had any of that left within you.
His words were replaying in your head, causing you to avoid eye contact with him, as much as you hated to admit it, he was right.
Peter noticed your change of demeanor instantly, quickly shooting a glance at Ned as he gave him a sly thumbs up before refocusing on you.
"It wasn't my choice." You replied in a hushed whisper, your mind going back to that day when your boss told you to exterminate the pest, that pest being Spider-Man himself.
"Everyone has a choice Y/N." Peter counteracted, his brows furrowing at your response.
"You don't understand." You shook your head, a defeated laugh leaving your lips.
"Then help me understand." Peter pleaded, his eyes searching yours as you stared at him blankly.
"There's nothing you can do, it's too late." You admitted, breaking the gaze between the both of you.
"Y/N there has to be something we can do!" Peter shouted, now getting slightly aggravated with you, his arms going up in the air, his eyes wide as you let out a sigh.
"Peter. I'm not a good person, I've done things that are unforgiveable, hell I even left you to die and I knew what I was doing." You confessed, the memory causing your heart to hurt.
"I remember leaving you underneath the rubble, hearing you cry out for someone to help you, but I knew nobody would come, and the worst part about that was I was okay with it." You admitted, the words getting caught in your throat as you spoke, you wanted Peter to understand that your alter ego wasn't someone you could just "fix."
Peter's heartbeat quickened the more you spoke, becoming more rapid the more you revealed about leaving him to die, although, he was sure for a split second it stopped when he heard you admit that you were okay with it.
"-And you want to know the worst part of it all?" You choked out, a tear trickling down your face, causing Peter's expression to soften a bit at how broken you really were, this was the real you.
However, he wasn't sure if he wanted to know what else you had to say, his heart was telling him 'no' but his mind was telling him 'yes,' and before he knew what he was doing he was nodding for you to continue.
You took a deep breath, wiping the tears off your face with the back of your hands before looking up at him once more.
"-I remember liking it Peter." You whispered, your eyes locked with his as you said it, seeing a flash of hurt and pain in his eyes, but trying to stay strong so he wouldn't assume weak.
He let out a shaky breath in response, glancing over at Ned who seemed utterly scarred, having now found out the harsh truth.
"Y/N," Peter mumbled out, hesitantly taking a few steps towards you, before resting a gentle hand on your cheek, rubbing a tear away in the process.
This was the Y/N he remembered, the vulnerable and open one, not the closed off and evil one.
"I know you're a good person, deep down in your heart you know that this isn't you, that all those crimes you committed weren't you." Peter explained comfortingly, his eyes flickering between yours as he spoke.
"Your alter ego did those horrific things, not you. Your boss manipulated not only you, but the other version of yourself in the process because you trusted him. If anyone is to blame, it's him, not you." Peter stated firmly, his heart beating rapidly in his chest once realizing how close the two of you actually were.
You sat there for a few moments pondering his words, he was right in a sense, but he was also wrong too.
You quickly snapped back into reality, your eyes widening at the small gap between the two of you, along with Peter's anxious breaths.
You bit your lower lip in thought, before leaning forward a bit, as you pressed your lips against Peter's cheek, the gesture catching Peter off guard, his eyes going wide along with his cheeks turning a shade of pink.
Another tear slipped down your cheek as you pulled away, causing Peter's expression on his face to change from pure happiness to pure concern.
"I-I'm sorry.." You whispered, your face expression full of agony and regret as a dark red color started to coat your hand, along with the floor below you both.
[…]
"Peter!"
Apologies if there's no keep reading link, I put one in but lately Tumblr has been having issues, and it's super annoying. :/

Y/SV/N = your super villain name
Tumblr media
"Ned! What the hell were you thinking? Inviting Y/N over to play games?" Peter whisper shouted at his friend, eyes wide.
"I don't know, I just thought it'd be a smart idea, that way we'd know that Y/N wouldn't be able to harm someone else." Ned replied back in a calmer tone, not understanding why this was such a bad idea.
"Did you forget the fact that I'm Spiderman? That Y/N is literally trying to kill me?" Peter fired back, his voice cracking a few times as he spoke.
"Of course I didn't forget bro, but if you think about it, this is like one big game of mouse trap," Ned explained as he walked beside his friend, "Your house is the trap and Y/N is the mouse, you get Y/N into your house and boom, mouse trapped." Ned grinned, clearly proud of himself.
Peter shook his head in amusement as he thought about Ned's idea, it wasn't exactly what he had in mind, but it might just possibly work in their favor.
"Lets say this hypothetically works right? What do we do once Y/N is in my house? What if Y/N finds out who I really am? Do I bring up the enemy in Queens?" Peter blurted out all at once, questions continuously pouring out of his mouth.
Ned glanced over at his friend who was way too caught up in his own thoughts, letting out a sigh Ned placed his hand on Peter's shoulder, grabbing his attention.
"Peter, you know Y/N better than anyone, I also know you've had a crush on Y/N since the sixth grade," Ned grinned at the last part, making Peter's face tint a light pink before Ned continued, "I believe that you'll do what's right in your heart, I mean come on, you're fricken Spiderman dude, you've got this." Ned hyped his friend up, slapping his back before continuing to walk to Delmar's.
Peter trailed behind Ned a slight bit, going over what Ned had said, the words replaying over and over in his head, a confident expression suddenly washing over his face.
"I've got this. Spiderman's got this."
You felt your phone buzzing in your pocket, snapping you out of your thoughts as you walked down the street to Peter's.
You pulled the device out, mentally preparing yourself that it was your boss calling, only to be surprised when you saw Peter's name on the screen.
You took a deep breath before pressing the 'answer' button, gently pressing it up against your ear.
"Hello?" You spoke into the phone, a faint smile on your lips as you walked down the street, cars passing you by causing a light breeze.
"Hey Y/N, I just wanted to call and let you know Ned and I stopped by Delmar's and got some food, so if you're hungry we have some famous sandwiches!" Peter spoke through the phone, you were pretty sure he was grinning when he said the last part, making you laugh.
"Sounds great Pete, I'm on my way right now actually, so I'll see you in a few minutes!" You replied back, walking up to the intersection and pressing the button so you could cross the street.
After walking for another five or so minutes you arrived at Peter's, a strange sensation washing over you, you hadn't been to Peter's in a while, would their place look different? Would May be happy to see you?
You stood in front of the door for a few moments after knocking, hearing some shuffling from the other side before the door opened, revealing May.
"Y/N! What a nice surprise! I haven't seen you in so long! Please come in! How are you? How's your mother doing?" May questioned excitedly, wanting to catch up with you.
You couldn't help but laugh at her bubbliness and get the same warm fuzzy feeling you always got when you talked to May.
"I know it's been a while, I've been really busy with school and clubs," You smiled, noticing how she followed along to every word you said, "And my mother is doing well, still working the long shifts though." You shrugged slightly, causing May to smile sympathetically and give you a hug.
You two spoke for a few more minutes before you excused yourself and went off to find Peter and Ned.
"Knock knock!" Your knuckles hit the door gently before cracking it open slightly, your head peaking around the corner.
"Y/N! You made it!" Ned cheered, making you laugh as you entered the room.
"Sorry I'm late, I ended up taking the longer route to get here this time, and then I was catching up with May." You explained, waking over and taking a seat besides Ned.
"Yeah, she really missed you Y/N." Peter chimed in, his eyes flickering up to meet yours.
"I know Pete, I know." You mumbled, giving a sad smile as you grabbed a sandwich, your stomach growling in anticipation for the delicious food.
"Well, that's enough of sad talk! Lets get right into the games shall we?" Ned jumped in, wanting to break the uneasy feeling in the room.
"Sounds like a great idea." You smiled, getting up to take a look at Peter's stash of video games.
As you looked through them, you heard someone clear their throat, which only meant someone was about to talk.
"So, Y/N," Peter started, cringing at how awkward he sounded, but continued on anyways, "Since it's been a while since we've talked, how's your club going?" Peter questioned, messing around with his sandwich as he glanced over at Ned who gave him a warning look.
The second you heard the question you felt your body stiffen, which didn't go unnoticed by Peter, his brows furrowing as he waited for you to come up with another one of your lies.
"It's great!" You replied, trying to make your voice sound excited and upbeat, but you and Peter both knew it was just a cover up.
"Y/N." Peter stated in a serious tone, his voice a bit strained as he watched your movements carefully.
You bit your lip nervously, slowly beginning to turn around, your eyes focusing on everything but him.
Peter studied your uneasiness, his eyes squinting at you as Ned sat next to him, anxiously tapping his fingers on the floor as he glanced between the two of you.
"When were you going to tell us you were never in a club? Or were you hoping we'd just never find out?" Peter confronted you, there was no turning back now, now all he had to do was wait for you to finally give him the answers he needed.
"I don't know what you're talking about." You replied in a hushed tone, lifting your head up a bit so you could see his face.
"That's bullshit and you know it Y/N." Peter spat at you, causing your eyebrows to rise, surprised at his tone of voice.
"How would you know? Unless you've been stalking me." You snapped back, your arms crossing in frustration as you noticed Peter's face pale slightly.
That's when it struck you, the lightbulb going off in your head as your eyes widened slightly, now having put two and two together, before your eyes locked with his nervous ones.
"Tell me you didn't do what I think you did." You spoke in a low tone, your voice strained as you stared Peter down hard.
"I had to know the truth Y/N." Peter whispered, his eyes searching yours as your heartbeat quickened.
"You don't know shit Parker, you don't know anything about me, not anymore." You all but growled out at him, his eyes widening at your sudden change of demeanor.
You blinked a few times, clearing your throat as you stood up, your hands running through your hair as you paced around his room.
Peter carefully stood up a few moments later, as did Ned as they watched you pace back and forth.
"You, -You broke into my house!" You pointed at them both, anger washing over your face as they stared back at you, lost for words.
Deep down you wished they hadn't, you really wished they hadn't.
"Alright Y/N, you got us, we broke into your house," Peter finally spoke up, earning a scoff from you as you stared at the two boys standing in front of you.
"But what choice did we have? You'd been acting so off lately, we needed to know what was going on and it was clear you weren't going to tell us." Peter continued on, his eyes flickering to Ned before focusing back on you.
"I don't regret it at all, if we hadn't done what we did, we'd never had known what we do now." Peter stated firmly, taking a few steps towards you.
You both were now breathing heavily, adrenaline running through the both of you as you glared at the boy standing in front of you.
"Tell me what you know then, tell me Peter." You challenged him, taking a few steps towards him as well.
At first Peter didn't know whether this was a trap or not, you'd been lying to him this whole time so who's to say you weren't trying something now?
He fiddled with his fingers for a moment before letting out a breath of air he didn't realize he had been holding in, as his eyes locked with yours.
"Y-You're.." Peter stammered, not wanting to say it aloud because then it'd be real, he'd finally be admitting to himself that you were his enemy.
"Spit it out Parker, I want to hear you say it." You got closer to him, a faint smirk toying on your lips as he shut his eyes tightly.
"You're Y/SV/N." He whispered, before reopening his eyes, his palms sweaty as he studied your face, noticing how your eyes were a bit watery.
"You're right Pete." You whispered back, a sad smile on your lips as you grabbed his hand gently in yours.
"And I have to kill you."
If there's a line through your user Tumblr wouldn't let me tag you :/

Secrets
Requested By: @timmers18
A REQUEST COMING AT YOU::: After Harsh Words, CAN YOU PRETTY PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE write another story similar like this, except they always had been fighting, Spider-Man vs Villain- plot twist: they’re best friends at school. I’d stay up 3 days straight for this.
Pairing: Peter Parker x Reader (aka Spider-Man vs Villain)
Description: Queens had been an active crime space for the past few months, Spider-Man was constantly fighting against this newbie of a villain that wouldn’t stop causing chaos, they both despised each other, or so they thought.
Warnings: Swearing, fighting
Word Count: 3,757
A/N: So, this request is kinda similar to my mini-series Web Of Lies that I’ve been writing, but I couldn’t help myself and wrote this anyways. I hope you like it a lot because I do aslkdfjsdkj.
Friendly PSA: Please do not steal my writing without my permission, or flat out steal it at all. It’s super disrespectful and 100% plagiarism. So, if you’re someone who does steal other peoples’ work, think about what you’re doing before you hit that copy button. Thank you!
Tumblr media
“You do realize that I’m going to turn you in right?” Spider-Man leaned against the pole, watching as you sat on the edge of the building, a laugh escaping your lips.
“You’re funny Spidey.” You mused, standing up, turning around to face the masked hero.
“I’m serious, you need to be stopped, I can’t have you roaming around Queens.” He shook his head, stepping forward, watching you carefully.
“Well that’s a shame for you, because I’m not going anywhere.” You grinned through your mask, crossing your arms.
“Fine, have it your way.” He shrugged, before charging at you, webs shooting out of his wrists.
You quickly dodged them, before charging at him also, kneeing him in the face, before hitting him on the back, making him groan in pain as he fell.
You smiled behind the mask, satisfaction evident across your features, thinking you had won, turning to walk away when he grabbed your leg, giving a yank before you went slamming on the ground.
Spider-Man hovered over you, webbing your one arm to the ground, as you fought his other hand.
“E-Either you surrender now, or I have to do this the hard way!” Spider-Man grunted out, trying to push your other arm down so he could web it.
“I-I don’t crack under pressure!” You shouted through your mask, moving your leg and wrapping it around his waist, his eyes widening on his mask.
You grinned through yours, as your legs finally twisted around his waist, flipping him over as you got up, cutting your other arm free of his web.
“I’ll see you around Spidey.” You gave a salute, watching as he started to get back up.
Once he got up, he looked around for you, but you were nowhere to be seen, you had vanished, and he once again, missed his opportunity to turn you in.
“Fuck.” He muttered, running his hands over his masked head, he’d been fighting you for weeks now, and he still hadn’t caught you.
He desperately wanted to know who you were, and why you were the new villain of Queens, but he never had a chance to ask.
Peter went home after that, cleaning his fresh wounds that were starting to form from your fight with him.
He saw his phone light up, seeing it was a text from you, making him smile slightly.
From Y/N: hey nerd, did u do the chem homework? i’m stuck like usual and u normally can make me understand it, would u mind video chatting for a bit?? :)))
To Y/N: hey pipsqueak ;))) yah, i did the homework, i can help, i’ll chat u in a sex
To Y/N: I MEANT SEC OHMYGOD KLFDSAKLJD
From Y/N: damn parker, i didn’t kno u wanted to get into my pants that bad ;))))
Peter rolled his eyes, his face flushed slightly as he read your message, a grin spreading across his lips as he let out a chuckle.
He then finished covering up his bruises before video chatting you, pulling his homework out as you appeared on his computer screen.
“Well hello there Mr. I want to get into his best friends pants.” You smirked, winking at him, as he rolled his eyes playfully.
“You know that wasn’t what I meant!” He whined, but couldn’t help the smile that ghosted across his lips.
“Mhm sure Parker, you’re a teenaged boy, your hormones are going out of control.” You shrugged, looking at the chemistry homework in front of you, not noticing Peter’s flushed cheeks.
He cleared his voice, running his fingers through his curls as he tapped his pencil on his desk anxiously.
“Anyways!” He smiled, making your head snap up and look at him, waiting for him to continue.
“What were you having trouble with?” He glanced down at his completed homework, before you started explaining your issue.
You both spent the next two hours doing your chemistry homework, having Peter explain the setup and the process on how you solved it.
Once finished, you spent another hour just chatting, something you both always did whenever you video chatted.
“No way, Ghostbusters is so much better than Star Wars!” You declared, making Peter gasp and place a hand on his chest.
“You traitor! Take that back!” He demanded, unable to keep the smile off his face.
“Nope, no can do, it’s just the truth!” You smiled, folding your arms and resting your chin on your hands.
“You’ll regret making an enemy of me Mrs. Y/N.” He grinned, making you wiggle your eyebrows at him.
“I’ll see you tomorrow hormones.” You bit your lip, before ending the video chat, leaving Peter grinning at his computer screen.
You really did know how to get under his skin, good or bad.
Morning arrived quickly, far too quick for your liking, your alarm blaring on your nightstand as you groaned, smacking at it to shut it off.
Thus, your day began, getting ready for school, the place you hated the most.
“Y/N, don’t forget to eat breakfast!” Your mother called from downstairs, making you sigh and yell back a ‘I know!’
You threw on an outfit, brushed your teeth and hair, put on a little bit of makeup and ran down the stairs, grabbing your breakfast to go, shouting a ‘Bye mom, see you later!’ before exiting the house.
You held your phone in your hand, your breakfast bagel in the other, taking a bite and scrolling through your social media, a certain topic catching your eye.
Queens Latest News: Last night the villain of Queens struck again, sources say they saw the masked villain go in and out of banks, and then eventually go off to cause more chaos.
You were so intently staring at your phone you didn’t even have time to react to the person in front of you, bumping into them.
“Ah! Shit sorry!” You apologized, steadying yourself as did the person in front of you.
“No worries.” They replied, making you smile sheepishly, you really needed to pay attention to where you were walking.
After deciding walking and reading wasn’t the smartest option, you made it onto the subway, taking the train all the way to your school.
You also decided to take this time to eat your bagel, which was very good by the way, your mom always got the chocolate chip ones.
Once you heard your stop, you got up and off the train, your phone returning to your hand as you started to scroll through the article once again, as you periodically glanced up to make sure you didn’t ram into anyone again.
Queens Latest News: Another source says they saw the famous neighborhood super hero Spider-Man around Queens last night, they claimed they saw the hero and villain fighting, but ran off when they saw the villain get away.
You couldn’t help but smirk at the last sentence, of course you got away, you weren’t an amateur after all.
You continued to read the rest of the article, walking into the school and immediately going to your locker, your phone still glued to your hand.
Queens Latest News: Everyone wants to know why this villain is in Queens and when their next strike will be, but the main question is, who are they when they aren’t this villain of the night? Could it be you reading this right now? I guess we’ll never know.
You bit your lip, reading the last sentence once again, they weren’t wrong, you were reading their article, and the villain of Queens is you.
How ironic isn’t it?
You set your phone down, grabbing a few books and your chemistry homework, you were not going to forget that.
“Hey Y/N!” Ned and Peter greeted you, smiles on their faces as they approached your locker.
“Hey guys, what’s up?” You smiled, putting the few books into your backpack, before grabbing your homework and phone, shutting your locker.
“Not much, I just found out we have a chem test today..” Peter rolled his eyes, as you stared at him in disbelief.
“You have GOT to be kidding me! I suck at chem so bad, I’m doomed, I’m one hundred percent doomed!” You exaggerated, your hands flying up into the air, which was such a stupid idea, once you saw your phone fly onto the floor.
You shrieked, shutting your eyes tightly, not wanting to see if it was cracked or not.
“What’s the damage Parker?” You questioned, your eyes still shut, waiting to hear your fate.
“It’s all good, no cracks, you’re a lucky duck.” Peter shook his head, a smirk playing on his lips as you let out a breath of air you didn’t know you had been holding in.
Peter handed you back your phone, which you thanked him for, before putting it in your pocket, keeping it safe this time.
“I couldn’t help but notice what you were reading.” Peter spoke up as you all were wandering to your class.
“What about it?” You glanced over at him, his expression staying straight ahead, as Ned glanced over at him too.
“Do you believe it?” He questioned, making you raise an eyebrow, signaling you didn’t understand.
“I mean, do you believe Spider-Man is a hero? He’s doing his best to protect Queens but this new villain of the night just makes it more difficult to do that.” Peter explained, making you shrug nervously, since when did Peter care so much about Spider-Man?
“I don’t know, I didn’t know you cared so much, I learn something new about you everyday Parker.” You winked, making him shake his head and chuckle at you, knowing what you were referring to.
You all then walked into class, where your Chemistry teacher eagerly awaited, ready to give you all a test and watch you all fail miserably, except Peter most likely.
You did, in fact, know a few questions, but overall, you knew you failed, unlike Peter however, he walked out, a smile on his face.
“That was so easy, I bet I got an A.” He bragged, as you hit his arm slightly, a frown on your face.
“Not everyone can be a genius!” You whined, a fake hurt look on your face, while Ned laughed.
The day continued on, you and Peter teasing each other all day as Ned and Michelle told you to get a room, which you then decided to tell the story of last nights video chat.
“Y/N, no please.” Peter begged, his cheeks reddening as he saw your mischievous smile on your lips.
"Oh, hell yes Parker, you’re getting exposed.“ You grinned, before telling them the story, Peter’s face flushed red with embarrassment.
There were certain times where he’d wish he was confident enough to just drag you away and make you quiet in ’other ways’ but he wasn’t Spider-Man, he was Peter Parker, the guy with no confidence.
“Damn Peter, you must really like her if you want to get in her pants that bad.” Michelle teased, making Peter groan and hit his head against the table.
“I don’t blame Peter, you are attractive Y/N, that’s just a fact.” Ned shrugged, making you smile, a blush rising onto your cheeks.
These dumbasses.
School finally ended which was a relief for you, you weren’t sure if you could handle anymore hours in this prison of a school.
“Are you guys still coming over later?” Peter questioned both you, but his eyes lingered on yours more than Neds.
“Of course, it’s movie night!” Ned chimed in, his face bright with excitement as you stood there, gathering your books once again.
“I might have to cancel..” You mumbled, avoiding their shocked expressions, you’d never canceled on them before.
“B-But Y/N, this is a tradition!” Ned shrieked, making you sigh and nod in agreement.
“I-I know, it’s just.. I’ve been busy..” You shrugged, playing with the hem of your sleeve, a nervous habit you did, which also didn’t go unnoticed by Peter.
“Alright well.. Just let us know alright?” Peter smiled slightly as you nodded, giving them both a small wave before leaving the school, Peter’s eyes not once leaving you until you rounded the corner.
“Peter you alright buddy?” Ned waved his hand in front of Ned’s face, making Peter blink a few times.
“Y-Yeah I’m good.” He muttered, his mind racing with questions, before walking home with Ned.
You felt bad ditching the traditional movie night, but what you read in the article and from what Peter said about Spider-Man just pissed you off.
You weren’t someone to be messed with, at least your alter ego wasn’t, which is why you were currently putting on your suit and mask, before entering out into the darkness of the night.
You decided to go with the more, ’fun’ route this time, cans of spray paint in your hands as you sprayed the brick wall, creating your mask to let people know it was you.
You opened the other can of spray paint, until you heard a voice clear from behind you.
“This is unusual for you.” The voice spoke, making you roll your eyes from underneath your mask.
“I’m just having fun is all.” You shrugged, spraying the blue color onto the bricks, not caring if the hero was behind you.
Next thing you knew it was flung out of your hand, a annoyed sigh escaping your lips.
“Really? I am trying to create something here.” You huffed, turning around to face the masked hero once again.
“And I’m trying to protect Queens, but here you are making my job difficult.” He crossed his arms, setting the spray paint on the ground.
“You don’t think what I’m doing is to protect people too?” You raised an eyebrow through your mask, crossing your arms back at him.
“You’re joking right? You’re a villain you don’t protect people, you hurt and kill them.” Spider-Man growled out, making your blood boil.
Who the fuck did he think he was?
You nodded slowly, before kicking him in the shin, making him groan, as he watched you sprint off.
“I don’t think so, not today!” He shouted, running after you, trying to web you while running, but you did your best to doge them.
You then jumped onto a building, climbing up the side of it, yes, you too, had powers somewhat like Spider-mans.
You flipped over onto the roof of the building, hiding behind an air vent as he got onto the roof as well.
“You can’t hide from me you know! I will find you!” He shouted, as you tried to regulate your breathing.
You had planned on not fighting tonight, that you would just spray paint a few things on the bricks of some buildings and then go to Peter’s to watch a movie with him and Ned, but instead, here you are, on some random roof, about to fight your enemy once again.
“Come out and fight me!” He shouted once again, as you slowly appeared out from behind the air duct.
“Look, I’m in no mood to fight, in fact, I need to be somewhere right now, so we can resume this later okay?” You leaned against the air duct, your arms crossed as you watched the hero intently.
Spider-Man laughed, his head shaking as he took a few steps toward you.
“How stupid do you think I am? I’ve been trying to for weeks to catch you and turn you in, and now that I have another chance, I’m sure as hell going to try to.” He growled out, making you sigh in frustration.
Next thing you knew, webs were on your legs, pulling you down to the ground as he dragged you towards him.
“Just cooperate with me and this will go so much easier!” Spider-Man grunted, as you twisted and turned, cutting your legs free.
This bitch.
“Okay, now you really pissed me the fuck off.” You growled out, as he tried to web your hands, you did something that shocked him, you caught his web, a smirk appearing through your mask.
You yanked him forward, before slamming your fist into his face, hard, making him stumble backwards, but you weren’t done yet, you pulled him back up with his own web, before hitting him once more, and kneeing him in the stomach.
“Next time, when I give you a chance to leave, you take it.” You spat out, watching him hold his chest, groans escaping his mouth.
You were now walking away, but felt his hand on your ankle, pulling you down on the ground with him.
“And I told you,” He panted, grabbing your one wrist, “That this is my chance to turn you in, and there is no way in hell I’m letting you get away again.” He grunted, hitting you a few times, making you even angrier.
This was one of the most intense fights you’ve had with the neighborhood hero, but at least you knew he wasn’t just some joke.
You looked up at him through your mask, his own staring back down at you, his breathing heavy as was yours.
“There’s a reason why you never officially catch me.” You groaned out, grabbing his other wrist, pushing it backwards to make him loose balance, which he did and fell.
You then took this as your opportunity to flip him over, you now hovering over him, his eyes wide on his mask.
You panted slightly, trying to get some air back into your lungs, before a smirk made its way back onto your mask.
“You want to tell me why?” He spat out, making you laugh slightly, as he squirmed underneath you.
“As much as you want to turn me in, you don’t because I’m the only one in Queens giving you a run for your money, and you find it exhilarating to have someone to fight, therefore, you let me go, whether you want to believe it or not, you like having me here.” You grinned, making Spider-Man freeze, you took this as your time to get up, before disappearing off the roof.
Peter slowly got up, your words replaying in his head, trying to figure out if you were right or not.
Why did he always seem to let you get away?
What was it about you that seemed so familiar?
He quickly rushed back home, his face bruising already, as was yours, but you did your best to cover it up, before going over to Peter’s.
You knocked on the door, May opening it with a smile on her face as he let you in, you walking to Peter’s room.
“Hey guys, it’s me sorry I’m late.” You apologized, walking in to see Peter and Ned watching Star Wars.
