LRB to be honest every single time I see a really great piece of art I am reminded that the words of the guy that told me "You have no talent and it is very cringe that you say you do" and "Only people who can't draw could like your art" was right lmao

I just can see it's true and there is nothing talented, valuable or exceptional about my art. It is mediocre except for my attention to detail. I just know everyone can see it too, that I am wasting time and effort on things that don't even look good or that anyone will want to save and cherish ever, and that my "true" calling is writing not drawing. I just can't stop I guess, I like what I like. But also I wish he never said those things tbh. It's been like over two years since he said that, but my brain replaying those words over and over and over and OVER this whole time every time I DO see true talent is sooooo exhausting. 🙄
