also let's not pretend that as a collective, we dragon age fans have not been using our imaginations to rewrite entire plotlines and fill in gaps for 15 years. i have my minor gripes and major concerns, but i also know we're all gonna do what we always do: make up shit we like better for our personal narratives and canon anyway. i encourage haterism in the name of improving what we love but let's also be honest with ourselves. the diehards among us were gonna find something to love and cling to in every entry no matter what.

#there's something to be said about the devs clearly wanting to tell a very specific tight story and not allowing much deviation from it.#and i acknowledge the story they wanted to tell is sooooo not for everyone. i really get that and fully respect it. just bc i had fun #doesn't mean i don't have a laundry list of shit i thought was stupid and lame in this one. but i always do. and i'm still here ain't i #we should have all known from the first glimpses of the game that they were deviating from the old formula in more ways than just gameplay.#we're undeniably entering a new era for the franchise. for better or worse. takes drag of my cigarette
