It's not that they trust Misty, it's that for all the awful things that she's done, they've done just as bad...or worse.
I definitely get the profound bond of mutual trauma and sharing the weight of sins too terrible for any one who wasn't there to comprehend, I did go to boarding school for five years. It's just that I feel like we, as animals, have a certain level of visible violent mental instability that we intuitively know not to show our throats to. There's absolutely a level of looking after your own out of bone deep debts and wretched guilt, because you can't kill a monster when you're the one who helped feed it, when it's more a part of you now than your own skin. I get that, but I cannot endorse ignoring your survival instincts just because you haven't learned a single coping mechanism in thirty years.
Misty is like, "Hey, is anyone else gonna commit this unspeakably depraved act?" and doesn't even wait for an answer.
Anyway, I'll almost certainly wind up with different opinions by the end of the show. I'm just rambling about it as I watch.
