So I had kinda a shitty day but I came home to find that my mom made my favorite cookies to cheer me up and it meant the world to me. So I was wondering what each of the Seeds would do to cheer reader up after a bad day and also what would make them feel better after they had a bad day? Love you and thanks! 🙂✨💜
sorry this took so long! school started up and i have been working on a commission! i will slowly but surely work through them! i have a tag list if you’d like to be added to it so you know when i post content!
ENJOY!
Jacob would:
- give lots of bear hugs. y’know the tight crushing ones. you can feel your soul piecing itself back together again.
- a lot of small touches in general. he’ll run his fingers through your hair while you hug, place a firm hand on your shoulder, drag his hand across your hip as he walks by.
- if he has a busy day he’ll ask if you’ll be alright on your own for a little bit, and then he’ll plan to have a night in and spend a good chunk of the next day with you.
- if he doesn’t think you’re alright on your own he’ll either cancel everything he had going on or bring you along. there’s no way he’s leaving you on your own if you need him badly enough. he’ll give you small things to do so that you’re always close by.
- jacob puts on some music so that you’re not left alone with your thoughts if you’re not in a talkative mood.
Jacob likes:
- being in close proximity with you. nothing beats coming home after a shitty day and seeing you smile.
- he loves your cooking/baking. whether it’s sweets or dinner, hell even cocktails, it makes him feel better knowing that someone cares enough about him to take care of him.
- sex. jacob talks a lot, but not always about his emotions. instead of venting or discussing how shitty he feels, he’ll every so often start to get flirty and hint that he wants to have sex. you’ll hear a little sigh of relief from him when you take him up on the offer.
- jacob just needs to get his mind off what happened, and depending on the severity, sometimes bringing it up will only make it worse. any and all distractions are welcome. whether it’s chopping wood for the fireplace, helping clean the house, or curling up on the couch and watching a movie together.
Joseph would:
- try to give you physical comfort. a massage, rub this thumb on the back of your hand, finger comb your hair. he once asked faith to teach him how to braid so he could braid your hair.
- joseph will sit/stand and listen to you pace the house, ranting and waving your arms around as you get everything off your chest.
- he’s the one that will try to give you advice, which even though you love him, is sometimes a little irritating when you just need to get things out there. you don’t always want a solution, just a listening ear.
- if he catches you mid/pre/post breakdown, his face will drop. he’ll rush to you and sweep you into his arms and comfort you.
Joseph likes:
- quiet comfort. sitting in a room with your head is in his lap while you nap or read. cooking together with passing touches.
- even if he knows you’re not religious, little prayers or sitting with him while he prays. if you’re not religious he even just appreciates the thought that you’re willing to be there.
- activities. going for a swim in the lake behind the church, walking around the compound, visiting his brothers. getting out and doing things to clear his head helps.
John would:
- try to comfort you with physical affection. whether it be distracting you with sex or holding you in his arms as you cry into his arms. he knows that feeling another person’s touch (romantic or not) makes him feel better and tends to project that onto you.
- will offer to take you shopping/out as an outlet. ya boy has deep pockets and has no problem overindulging you.
- john will very convincingly tell you everything you needed to hear and more. the best part is that he means every word.
- he’ll request a few days away from his responsibilities and orders his chosen to bother him only if something absolutely requires his attention.
John likes:
- to pace around the house, hands flailing as he goes on and on about why he’s in such a bad mood. will include swearing and lots of exasperated groans.
- being pet calms him down severely. running your fingers through his hair, over his arms, tracing odd shapes and patterns over his skin. just gentle, absent-minded touches help soothe him.
- he likes to try and cook fancy foods he had in his lawyer days. it’ll take him a few minutes to get into the groove, but eventually he’ll dance around the kitchen with you while the two of you cook.
- will totally atone for it later, but on especially shitty days he’s prone to drinking and using bliss. he’s not an ass while intoxicated so you don’t mind, he just tends to get clingy and emotional.
Faith would:
- try and make sure that you have something nice to come home to when she finds out you had a bad day. whether it’s cookies, a new bouquet on the kitchen table.
- she’ll make your favorite thing for dinner along with your favorite drink (alcoholic or otherwise).
- she’d make you a cup of bliss tea to calm your nerves. its a small enough dose that you don’t feel anything other than a slight calm.
- she’ll sit and talk with you about what’s going on, and if you ask she’ll help you try to solve the problem. otherwise she’ll show you her sympathies and love for you.
Faith likes:
- after being neglected for so long by her family, faith needs her emotions validated. whether it’s through your verbal reassurances or the physical comfort you give her.
- hugs. lots of hugs. tiny ones, long ones, tight ones, ect. all the hugs. she feels safer in your arms and isn’t shy about that fact. she’ll also settle for some hand holding and soft touches if hugs aren’t available.
- she’ll offer to go out and do things, but she’ll only do it with you. faith doesn’t trust herself and other people to go walking the streets of hope county at night. she also just enjoys the hell out of your company.
- if she’s having a breakdown, she needs space to realign her thoughts and figure out whats going on. once she feels she’s stable enough, faith will be back at your side and ready to kick some resistance ass!

Why Jadon Sancho Starts for the Bundesliga Clash in Borussia Dortmund?
Bundesliga supporters would have to wait a bit longer for Jadon Sancho 's return after a calf injury forced the winger to be placed on the bench for Borussia Dortmund derby battle with Schalke.
The coronavirus outbreak put Sancho 's remarkable season to a halt back in March and the 20-year-old must have itched to return to the first-team action in Dortmund colors this weekend. England International has established itself as one of the world football's most deadly attacking stars, racking up 14 goals and 15 assists in this term's German top flight, and his results have made him a priority for the elite of Europe. Manchester United is at the front of the queue for the signing of Sancho, but Real Madrid, Barcelona, Liverpool and Chelsea are all still in the youth race. After being pictured in training with the rest of his Dortmund team-mates last week, Sancho looked for another chance to put himself in the shop window this afternoon. Lucien Favre, however, has chosen from the start not to threaten Sancho given that he has been dealing with a minor problem of calf. 🚨 Our Starting XI against S04 🚨 Gio Reyna will make his first official start for BVB 🇸 pic.twitter.com/bKSxcSPYbq — Borussia Dortmund (@BlackYellow) May 16, 2020 Giovanni Reyna, 17, was due to make his first league appearance in the absence of Sancho, but during the warm-up of Dortmund the American picked up an injury and was substituted by Thorgan Hazard. 'There will definitely be no Axel Witsel and Emre Can,' he said when asked about the two midfielders. 'We are hoping they can return as soon as possible.' Without their captain Marco Reus (muscle) and central defender Dan-Axel Zagadou (bruised knee ligament), Dortmund is also out. March Break Reading List
As spring creeps closer, we find ourselves nostalgic for the March Breaks of days past, when the last week of winter meant time away from school, huddled in a pillow fort, nose buried in a book. You might have noticed we quite like those. In fact, you might have also noticed a few of our current favourites if you’ve visited our mini libraries at Macpherson, Forest Hill, and The Detox Market. Curious about the nine titles on our current list? Our shelves include inspiring recipe collections, romantic verse from a Canadian icon, and classic lit page-turners.
Food 52 Genius Recipes: 100 Recipes That Will Change the Way You Cook by Kristen Miglore, Ten Speed Press, 2015 Available at Macpherson and The Detox Market
Named in 2012 as the Best Food Publication at The James Beard Awards and Best Culinary Website at the 2013, 2014, and 2015 IACP Awards, the Food52.com community has become synonymous with premier cooking, publishing recipes by and for chefs of every level and culinary style. One of the site’s most beloved columns is “Genius Recipes”—a weekly feature by executive editor Kristen Miglore which highlights a recipe that “surprises us and makes us rethink the way we cook.” This collection of 100 delightful and foolproof recipes debunks kitchen myths, rethinks traditional techniques and ingredients, and will incite surprise and delight in any kitchen.
Food 52 Vegan: 60 Vegetable-Driven Recipes for Any Kitchen by Gena Hamshaw, Ten Speed Press, 2015 Available at Macpherson, Forest Hill, and The Detox Market
The award-winning Food52.com has also been credited for convincing eaters of all proclivities that incorporating plant-based dishes into one’s diet can be both flavourful and satisfying. One of the site’s most popular features is Gena Hamshaw’s “New Veganism.” This bound collection of plant-based dishes features new recipes and a few favourite standbys from her column, including Savoury Breakfast Polenta, Greek Salad with Tofu Feta, and Carrot and Fennel Pot Pie. Vegans, vegetarians, and omnivores alike will be won over by the inventive creations.
Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland and Through the Looking-Glass by Lewis Carroll, Penguin Classics, 2009 Available at Macpherson, Forest Hill, and The Detox Market
Designed by the award-winning Coraline Bickford-Smith, this clothbound hardback copy of Lewis Carrol’s classic pays colourful, foil-stamped tribute to the classic work, which, in our opinion, belongs on the shelf of every reader, no matter his or her age. The magical, fantastical world of Wonderland and Alice’s adventures there delighted us in our formative years, and we’ve returned many times over since our first read to revisit the Mad Hatter, the Cheshire Cat, and even the Queen of Hearts.
Vegetable Literacy: Cooking and Gardening with Twelve Families from the Edible Plant Kingdom by Deborah Madison, Ten Speed Press, 2013 Available at Forest Hill
Plant master and chef extraordinaire Deborah Madison dazzles with her expansive knowledge of botanical families of vegetables, edible flowers, and herbs. Madison outlines the fascinating relationship between plants, demonstrating which are related—and why certain vegetables can be used interchangeably, while others complement each other perfectly. It is from this knowledge that Madison has curated a collection of 300 delectable recipes that encourage improvisation and curiosity in both the kitchen and the garden. The volume promises to “forever change the way we eat and cook.”
Kinfolk Table: Recipes for Small Gatherings by Nathan Williams, Artisan Books, 2013 Available at Forest Hill
From the creatives behind the wildly popular quarterly journal Kinfolk, Kinfolk Table is part cookbook and part narrative adventure. The book features 45 tastemakers from across the world—from chefs to artists, writers, and florists—who invite readers into their homes and share a few of their favourite recipes. The accompanying photography is beautiful, while the narratives and recipes focus on unfussy entertaining, designed “to foster the endless and energizing magic that results from sharing a meal with good friends.”
Book of Longing by Leonard Cohen, McClelland & Stewart, 2007 Available at Forest Hill and The Detox Market
From Canadian singer, songwriter, poet, and artist Leonard Cohen, Book of Longing is full of verse that is at times playful, at others poignant, romantic, and erotic; other poems still are self-deprecating and darkly funny. His lyrical pieces are complemented, not by music this time, but by Cohen’s own line drawings, which take from and direct queues to the poetry, interacting with the text on every page in a variety of unexpected ways.
East of Eden by John Steinbeck, Penguin Classics, 2016 Available at Macpherson and The Detox Market
Ever wonder about the great novel behind our green juice? “It has everything in it I have been able to learn about my craft or profession in all these years,” John Steinbeck once wrote to a friend on East of Eden, calling all his other works simply “practice for this.” And indeed, critics widely agree the enduring novel is the Nobel Prize winner’s magnum opus. Set in the Salinas Valley of California, the sprawling work tells the tale of two families — the Hamiltons and the Trasks — whose intertwined stories span generations. The epic is rife with biblical allusion, inviting readers to ruminate on the perpetual struggle between good and evil. And yes, it’s best enjoyed with our eponymous green juice.
Undermajordomo Minor by Patrick deWitt, House of Anansi Press, 2015 Available at The Detox Market
Canadian author Patrick deWitt (whose last novel, The Sisters Brothers, won most of Canada’s literary awards and was shortlisted for the Man Booker) is at it again with another pee-your-pants-funny noir adventure. We highly recommend joining deWitt’s disarming protagonist Lucien (Lucy) Minor, a compulsive liar with impeccable manners and a fragile constitution, as he ventures from his birthplace to the remote, sinister Castle Von Aux to assume the post of undermajordomo. In this “ink-black” bildungsroman, Lucy makes some highly unusual friends and one exceptionally handsome enemy as he strives to win the heart of the beautiful Klara. deWitt has once again constructed, out of the most unlikely materials, a touching, riotously funny, three-dimensional world in which you will want to live for as long as possible.
Tales of the Jazz Age by F. Scott Fitzgerald, Penguin Classics, 1922 Available at Macpherson
Francis Scott Fitzgerald and his wife Zelda lived such an extravagant life in the roaring twenties that Fitzgerald, despite having achieved literary success at a young age, was often strapped for cash. Writing commercially viable short stories for deep-pocketed magazines like The Saturday Evening Post and Esquire allowed him to keep the party going while working— intermittently, by most accounts— on his novels. Although both Fitzgerald himself and his tough-love friend Ernest Hemingway have referred to his short story writing as “whoring,” we can’t help but love all of the worlds Fitzgerald has created. More lighthearted, in many cases, than his novels, these stories are the party without the hangover: they offer decadent snapshots of a much fantasized-about era.

Thomas Partey among 20 stars who could be on the move this summer
The transfer window is open and there are A-list players in demand and whose futures are uncertain. We take a look at some of the big names who will be the centre of attention during the transfer window...
Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang: The value of a goalscorer
They say first-class strikers are hard to find but Arsenal certainly have one in Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang. He has hit the 20-goal mark in each of his two full seasons in the Premier League and his record of 54 goals in 84 top-flight games in England is a remarkable return, especially given Arsenal's struggles over that time.
So why the delay over handing him a new deal? Aubameyang's current contract is up in 11 months and after watching the striker fire Arsenal into the FA Cup final, boss Mikel Arteta implored the Arsenal board to extend his deal.
At 31, the hierarchy may have reservations about tying themselves into an expensive contract for a player who may be beyond his absolute peak. Mesut Ozil, anyone? Meanwhile, a transfer fee from one of the many major clubs reportedly interested in signing him would be a financial boost in the wake of the coronavirus crisis.
But putting a price on Aubameyang's goals surely weighs in favour of keeping him at the club. Success on the pitch will drive Arsenal's recovery off it and ensuring Arteta - who has made an impressive, encouraging start to his project - has the firepower to get Arsenal back to where they want to be must be the priority during this transfer window.
Arsenal can still qualify for Europe if they win next week's FA Cup final. How important might that result be in determining the player's future?
Peter Smith
Jack Grealish: Decision time looming
Jack Grealish has admitted he is "not too sure" about his Aston Villa future - and that is little surprise with the hype surrounding him. Only Kevin De Bruyne made more chances across the entire Premier League season, and the Villa captain made almost a quarter of the club's scoring opportunities on his own. That sort of creativity is difficult to teach, which is something clearly not lost on long-term suitors Manchester United, who appear to be leading the chase for his signature.
Although he has spent the season largely cutting in from the Villa left flank, it appears there could be a Grealish-shaped hole on the right of Ole Gunnar Solskjaer's front three; after a bright start, summer recruit Dan James' form has faded, while Mason Greenwood's future could be more central.
But United's end-of-season surge has reportedly cooled their interest and a question mark may lie in Grealish's price tag. United chief Ed Woodward has admitted the club has not been exempt from the effects of the coronavirus pandemic and with Villa now safe from relegation, Grealish's age and the often-inflated price tag on English players, his signature could make a significant dent in their transfer kitty.
Ron Walker
Jadon Sancho: Can Man Utd match Dortmund's valuation?
Few players are generating as much interest and intrigue as Jadon Sancho ahead of the transfer window. The 20-year-old, who turned his back on Manchester City to join Borussia Dortmund in 2017, has produced another stellar season in the Bundesliga, with City's rivals Manchester United now believed to be at the front of the queue for his signature.
In league games alone this season, Sancho scored 17 goals and provided 16 assists. It is an extraordinary return for any player, let alone one who only waved goodbye to his teens in March. Across Europe's major leagues, there are only five players who have had a hand in more goals in 2019/20. That list includes Lionel Messi, Robert Lewandowski and Cristiano Ronaldo.
It places Sancho in esteemed company and it explains why he is in demand. Dortmund had previously placed a £100m asking price on his head, but Manchester United hope to pay considerably less in the wake of the coronavirus crisis, with Sky Sports News reporting they will seek to do a deal at around £50m. It would be a steal if they can pull it off.
Nick Wright
Mesut Ozil: What's the exit plan?
How do you solve a problem like Mesut Ozil? It is a long running saga that never seems to end, with Arsenal's highest earner appearing happy to see out his £350,000-a-week contract in north London.
Gunners head coach Mikel Arteta has appeared to draw a line under the saga. Ozil, who has a year left on his Arsenal contract, does not look to be part of the Spaniard's plans. The stark fact of the matter is that Ozil didn't play a minute of football after the Premier League restarted and wasn't even on the bench for their final two matches.
It is no secret Arsenal would love to get Ozil's mammoth wages off their wage book but will Arteta's strong management be enough to convince the German it is time to leave the Emirates Stadium? Are there even any clubs interested in signing him and paying his mammoth wages after the financial strain of the coronavirus pandemic? Will Arsenal even pay some of his wages to finally get the World Cup winner away from the club?
These are the questions the Gunners will finally hope to have answers to as they look to solve their Ozil conundrum.
Oliver Yew
Wilfried Zaha: Time up at Palace?
It was no secret that Wilfried Zaha wanted to leave Crystal Palace last summer, but the move didn't happen and despite his initial disappointment he managed to get his head right and focus on doing his best for Palace. But a year on, and Zaha finds himself in the same situation.
Palace haven't matched his on-field ambitions, he's changed agents and he recently said he wanted to win trophies. Palace held firm on their £80m valuation last summer but that sort of asking price will be unlikely with the current Covid-19 pandemic expected to affect spending. Arsenal were interested last season - as were Everton.
Crystal Palace signed off with a 1-1 draw against Tottenham but manager Roy Hodgson admits he faces another battle to keep hold of Zaha.
"It's a dilemma for the club and for him if he is so set on leaving," he said.
"We still like him very much, we can't make him like us. It's obviously affected him because his form in the last few weeks has been quite poor considering what he is capable of doing. I don't have an answer."
Another summer of speculation awaits.
Lewis Jones
Kai Havertz: Germany's young star on his way to the Premier League?
There is considerable hype surrounding Germany's hottest prospects, Timo Werner and Kai Havertz. Chelsea have already snapped up the former from RB Leipzig and they are eager to prise the latter away from Bayer Leverkusen as well.
But at just 21 years old, Havertz will cost a premium price - reportedly in the region of £70-90m. Why so much? The versatile forward set a Bundesliga record for most goals by a teenager with 17 last season and became the youngest player to reach 100 league appearance in the German top-flight this season.
What will Frank Lampard be getting? According to Statsbomb, Havertz is strikingly similar to fellow youngster Christian Pulisic - who began to look capable of filling Eden Hazard's boots as the season progressed this season. Chelsea appear to be in the hunt for even more youthful flair - as if they needed any more.
Adam Smith
Gareth Bale: Will he settle for fringe role at Real?
Gareth Bale's spell at Real Madrid has descended into a soap opera. During their recent charge towards La Liga glory, he was most commonly seen joking around in the stands, an unused substitute with little prospect of winning back his place in the team. When the squad threw Zinedine Zidane into the air in celebration after the 2-1 win over Villarreal that sealed the title, Bale watched quietly from the fringes.
His relationship with Zidane has been fractured since the 2018 Champions League final win over Liverpool, when he was left out of the starting line-up only to come off the bench and score the decisive goals, and recent evidence suggests it is now broken beyond repair. Bale has only started five games since the turn of the year and one since the restart.
The problem for Real Madrid, of course, is that Bale has a contract - and an extraordinarily lucrative one at that - until 2022. The Welshman was close to sealing a move to China last summer, but the deal fell through and his agent, Jonathan Barnett, now insists he has no plans to leave. It remains to be seen whether any Premier League sides could try to change his mind.
Nick Wright
Lionel Messi: The beginning of the end of his time at Barca?
There is no chance of Lionel Messi leaving Barcelona this summer. The Argentina star has vowed to stay at least until the end of his current contract in 2021. But this window could mark the beginning of a lot of speculation over his future after a tumultuous campaign at the Nou Camp.
Messi is unsettled and frustrated at Barca and - for the first time - is seriously thinking of leaving next year, having broken off from new contract talks. He is fed up of conflict with the board, and of widespread rumours that he is the one that calls the shots at the club.
Inevitable links will be made with Manchester City for as long as Pep Guardiola, whom he considers to be the best coach he has worked with, is still the manager, while Inter Milan boss Antonio Conte has labelled their link with Messi as "fake news". Regardless, there is a lot of time still to pass before his contract expires, so a lot of time to either work things out or widen the rift even further.
Lyall Thomas
Harry Kane: Sticking with Spurs?
Remember the stir created during lockdown when Harry Kane told Sky Sports he would be prepared to leave Tottenham if he felt the club wasn't progressing?
"I love Spurs, I'll always love Spurs. But it's one of those things - I've always said if I don't feel we're progressing as a team or going in the right direction, then I'm not someone to just stay there for the sake of it," said Kane. "It all depends on what happens as a team and how we progress as a team. So it's not a definite I'm going to stay there forever - but it's not a no either."
His talent up front needs no debate. He is an outstanding striker and would certainly bring goals to any team he plays for with Golden Boots from the Premier League (twice) and World Cup as proof. Any forward who performs well will be loved by the fans, but there would be the same relationship between player and another club that Kane currently has with Tottenham?
This will likely be on his list of considerations but so will trophies and a player of his calibre deserves to be lifting them. Mourinho is often described as a serial winner but with Tottenham being that 'almost, but not quite' club, can he instil a winning mentality that will convince Kane to stay with his boyhood side? And would he have a better chance of winning silverware with the likes of Manchester United? Or should he be aiming right for the top where trophies are a requirement - not an aim - such as Real Madrid, who have been linked with Kane in the past.
This season has been the antithesis of progress for Tottenham with a dramatic change of manager and a first finish outside the top four since the 2014/15 season. Kane has once again had his injury problems and may want to wait a little longer to see if Mourinho can inspire an improvement at Spurs. But there would certainly be plenty of suitors willing to meet his demands...
Charlotte Marsh
Declan Rice: West Ham star would not be cheap
Declan Rice's future at West Ham depended a great deal on what division the club would find themselves playing in next season. With the Hammers' Premier League status now assured they have at least guaranteed Rice will not be leaving on the cheap. That is if he even moves at all.
Despite interest from Chelsea - the club that released Rice at the age of 14 - West Ham have been clear they have no desire to sell the England international. "He's under contract...he's not going anywhere unless you get one of those steel vans that have the cash in it," Hammers boss David Moyes said after the final day of the Premier League season.
Moyes is keen to build his team around young players such as Rice and, with the likes of Ben Johnson and Grady Diangana also at the club, the Scot's plan for a new, youthful and vibrant West Ham could begin to take shape quite quickly.
If Chelsea do decide to follow up their interest this summer, there is no doubt they will need deep pockets - West Ham value Rice at around £80m. In previous years, West Ham have experienced the likes of Dimitri Payet and Marko Arnautovic trying to force through moves away from the club. They were successful in doing so. However, Rice is unlikely to deploy such tactics.
History tells us that there will come a time when West Ham will eventually part ways with their very best talent - but, for now at least, they can demand the utmost amount for their star man.
Nick Lustig
Ben Chilwell: Can Chelsea or City convince Leicester to sell?
Could Chelsea's summer spending spree continue with a move for Leicester's Ben Chilwell? Frank Lampard is known to be a keen admirer of the left-back, who has impressed for the Foxes for the last three seasons and become a regular starter for England in the process.
Chelsea are unlikely to be the only side who register an interest, however, with Sky Sports News reporting that Manchester City are also eager to secure his services. Pep Guardiola even went out of his way to compliment the 23-year-old at the Etihad Stadium on the pitch following City's win over Leicester last season. "He just said he thought I was a really talented player," revealed Chilwell afterwards.
Leicester, however, are unlikely to allow him to leave cheaply. Chilwell was ruled out of the season finale due to a foot injury, but manager Brendan Rodgers insists he has not played his last game for the club and says he is confident of keeping him. "There's no intention to sell Ben Chilwell and absolutely no need to sell," he said recently. "The message is: He's not for sale."
Nick Wright
Paul Pogba: Will Frenchman put pen to paper?
Paul Pogba's timely return to form and the Manchester United first team coincided with the club's post-lockdown resurgence that secured Champions League qualification on the final day of the Premier League season.
But for those thinking Pogba's revival finally puts an end to speculation surrounding the Frenchman's future, well, things are not as simple as that.
For all the talk that Pogba's recent form will be rewarded with a lengthy new contract at Old Trafford, speculation over potential moves to Real Madrid or Juventus will rumble until his future is secured.
It is a situation agent Mino Raiola will look to take advantage of as he seeks the best deal for his client, and whether Pogba signs an extension or leaves United, you can almost guarantee he will be at the centre of a transfer saga that could define this window.
Jack Wilkinson
Adama Traore: The Plan B everyone wants?
After a quiet first campaign at Wolves in which he made only eight league starts, Adama Traore enjoyed a stunning second season, not only wowing Wolves fans but emerging as the neutrals' favourite. He is the Premier League's most explosive player.
Traore saved some of his best work for the biggest occasions - scoring at home and away in wins over Manchester City - but he has been a consistent performer too. As well as topping the dribbling charts, his nine Premier League assists ended all talk of a lack of end product.
Who should be interested? Just about every team in the world. Jurgen Klopp at Liverpool is an admirer. Part of the attraction is that coaches need not have a ready-made role for him in their line-up - he is a one-man plan B. An option from the bench capable of changing any game.
If there is a problem it could be the price. At 24, and under contract until 2023, Wolves are well aware of his value. One fee floated is as high as £135m. It might not take anywhere near that much to prise him away from Molineux, but expect big numbers involved.
Adam Bate
Nathan Ake: Could the Dutchman solve City's defensive problems?
Manchester City are reportedly in the hunt to snap up Bournemouth centre-back Nathan Ake this summer.
Of the current Premier League defenders aged 25 or under, only Hector Bellerin and Luke Shaw have racked up more top-flight appearances. Ake's positional development - from defensive midfielder to left-back, to centre-back - also provides a versatility which would appeal to the likes of Pep Guardiola.
Since his permanent switch in 2017, the Cherries' win percentage jumps 17 per cent with him in the team and they concede fewer goals. That blend of youth, experience, versatility and effectiveness bodes well for any suitor...and there will inevitably be a thought that the Cherries are ripe for picking following their relegation.
Adam Smith
Philippe Coutinho: Back to the Premier League?
Another summer, another guessing game of where Philippe Coutinho will end up playing next as his season-long loan spell with Bayern Munich draws to a close.
The Bundesliga champions have the option to sign the Brazil international from Barcelona for €120m this summer but are thought unlikely to take that up after an underwhelming campaign in Bavaria that has often seen Coutinho left out of the club's key fixtures.
With the 28-year-old having spent five hugely successful years with Liverpool, though, do not be surprised to see him back in the Premier League next season, with the likes of Chelsea, Tottenham, Arsenal and even his former club reportedly weighing up moves for the playmaker.
Richard Morgan
James Rodriguez: Who will take the risk?
The name James Rodriguez epitomises a long-running transfer saga. For five years and counting, his future at Real Madrid has been up for much debate, coming in and out of the transfer headlines when he has been linked with a handful of Premier League clubs, with a two-year loan at Bayern Munich wedged in.
Manchester United, Liverpool, Chelsea, Arsenal, Tottenham, and even Everton, Newcastle and Wolves: they have all been linked with the Colombian at some point over the past half a decade as James found himself on the periphery of Zinedine Zidane's plans. With his contract up next summer, now might be the time for a permanent move and for James to feel loved by his employers. At Real, he simply has not been.
At 28, he still has plenty to offer - he scored 15 and made 20 assists in 67 games at Bayern - but his wages will be a problem for many, reported to be around £160,000-a-week. Even if James leaves for a cut-price deal, let's say £20m, he represents a risk for many Premier League sides. It will be intriguing to see where he finally goes, and whether a change of scenery can prompt him to recreate the form that saw him one of the world's most-wanted players at the 2014 World Cup.
Gerard Brand
Kalidou Koulibaly: Finally on his way to the Premier League?
False peaks have long been found on the path to signing Napoli's man-mountain Kalidou Koulibaly, dubbed 'K2', but the stubborn Italian club are set to make the world's most sought-after defender available if they finalise a big-money deal for Lille forward Victor Osimhen.
Liverpool's strict transfer policy prohibits them spending more than £60m on a 29-year-old. But Manchester City, equipped financially and untethered from a Champions League ban, could ditch their usual age-profile and begin an ascent.
Nathan Ake would be cheaper, but the authority, speed and experience of Senegal captain Koulibaly makes him an ideal partner to Aymeric Laporte, and Pep Guardiola's long-awaited replacement for Vincent Kompany.
James Dale
Allan Saint-Maximin: Will Newcastle hold onto prize asset?
Transfer plans at St James' Park remain in torturous limbo as takeover silence continues to exhaust and deflate but, whatever the eventual outcome, Newcastle fans will be desperate to see Allan Saint-Maximin dancing through defences in the black and white again next term.
Tyneside has a new great entertainer - only Adama Traore and Wilfried Zaha completed more dribbles in the Premier League season - but more of those edge-of-seat slaloms are starting to yield end product: the Frenchman has added four assists to his three goals and has created more big chances than any other team-mate.
Steve Bruce might have served him a string of fines for "earrings, headbands and all sorts" but he reckons the £17m arrival from Nice last summer is the "best pound for pound signing in the Premier League" and has warned suitors - PSG, Napoli and Arsenal have been linked with a move - that "there is no chance" of him leaving. Bullish talk, but this is Newcastle, where anything can happen.
Kate Burlaga
Thiago Alcantara: In search of a new adventure]
It appears as though Thiago Alcantara's time in Germany is at an end after Bayern Munich chairman Karl-Heinz Rummenigge told Bild: "Alcantara wants to leave. It looks like he may want to do something new at the end of his career."
What that new adventure will be is still to be decided, but the Spain international will not be short of suitors after seven trophy-laden years at the Allianz Arena and a knocked-down transfer fee with his Bayern contract expiring next year.
It was Man City boss Pep Guardiola who took the Barcelona youth product with him when swapping Catalonia for Bavaria in 2013, shortly after his hat-trick saw Spain crowned European U21 champions, so do not rule out the pair being reunited at the Etihad next season.
Meanwhile, Liverpool are also reportedly interested in signing the 29-year-old - whose father is Brazil World Cup winner Mazinho - in order to add some flair to the champions' workmanlike midfield.
Richard Morgan
Thomas Partey: Finances could see Atletico ace depart
Arsenal are reportedly ramping up their summer pursuit of Atletico Madrid's Thomas Partey, and it is clear to see why he is a player in such high demand. Partey's intentions and his reachable £45m-buyout clause make him one of Europe's most sought-after players.
Atletico are willing to offer Partey double his current £65,000-a-week wages and are keen to insert a new £91m-buyout clause in his contract to fend off interest from elsewhere. But Arsenal are not the only European club to have been linked with the player plucked from Ghanaian club Odometah FC in 2012. Juventus and Manchester United are also said to be paying close attention to developments.
Atletico accrued £178m in debt with Mexican billionaire Carlos Slim's company Inbursa in order to facilitate their move to the Wanda Metropolitano - and that is not due to be paid off in full until 2028. Diego Simeone is the world's highest-paid manager, and while he has taken a 70 per cent pay cut from his £36.2m salary, Atletico will be feeling the financial strain of the pandemic more than most clubs - less than a year after Joao Felix's arrival for a club-record £113m from Benfica.
The emergence of Marcos Llorente as Partey's potential successor in the Atletico midfield looks like softening the blow of any sale this summer.

Maurizio Sarri: Who is the new Chelsea manager and what is his football history?
Maurizio Sarri: Who is the new Chelsea manager and what is his football history?
Maurizio Sarri: Who is the new Chelsea manager and what is his football history?
Highlights: Eden Hazard’s first-half penalty helps Chelsea beat Man Utd to win FA Cup
Forgive Antonio Conte if Friday felt a little like groundhog day. After all, it’s not the first time he has been sacked and replaced by Maurizio Sarri.
Implicated in the Calciopoli match-fixing scandal in 2006, the job of keeping Arezzo in the second division was never going to be easy with a six-point penalty. Fortunately, club president Piero Mancini had an eye for a top manager. Unfortunately, he kept panicking.
Mancini famously fired Conte in October 2006, pinning his hopes for survival on Sarri. But it wasn’t long before Mancini got cold feet. Back came Conte in March and, although results picked up, it was too late. Arezzo were relegated and have never recovered.
Sadly they went bankrupt in March. “I had the future manager of Italy and Sarri and we still went down,” Mancini sighed, incredulous. It’s a funny old game.
Who is Sarri?
Sarri worked as a foreign currency trader at the Banca Toscana
Sarri had already been coaching for more than 15 years when he succeeded Conte at Arezzo. He began in the same summer as Italia 90. If you’ve ever been to Tuscany, the chances are you have driven through a village whose team was coached by him at one time or another.
Sarri never made it as a player. He was a rugged, non-league centre-back mentored by the great Kurt Hamrin, the Swede who used to regale his players with stories about playing against Brazil great Pele in the 1958 World Cup final and all those goals he scored for Fiorentina.
Unable to make a living as a footballer, Sarri worked as a foreign currency trader at the Banca Toscana. He was attached to the international department, which involved business trips to Europe’s financial centres, including the City of London. But the role never stoked Sarri’s imagination quite like football did.
He coached part-time, hopping from one Tuscan town to another: Stia, Faellese, Cavriglia, Antella, Valdema, Tegoleto – you get the picture. Strongly influenced by Arrigo Sacchi, whose AC Milan side he taped and studied with great attention, Sarri one day decided to follow in his footsteps.
Sacchi worked for a shoe company and used conventions in Europe as an excuse to watch Ajax before jacking it all in to become a coach. Like Sarri, he had a non-playing background and coined the famous phrase: “You don’t need to have been a horse to be a jockey.”
So, in 2001, as Italy prepared to adopt the euro and foreign currency traders like him were no longer as useful to banks as they had been in the past, Sarri decided to take a leap of faith and leave his well-paid nine-to-five for what he says is “the only job I would do for free”.
Unlike Sacchi, who was 41 when AC Milan appointed him in 1987, and Conte, who got his first top-flight job with Atalanta shortly after his 40th birthday, Sarri did not reach Serie A until four years ago, aged 55. He did it the hard way.
Sarri was not plucked out of the lower divisions as the next big thing in coaching, like Juventus boss Massimiliano Allegri was when Cagliari took a punt on him after he achieved promotion to the second division with Sassuolo. He needed to take a team up himself in order to show he belonged there.
That Sarri’s talent went unacknowledged for so long in the upper echelons of the Italian game has become a source of some embarrassment in Italy. One reason Sarri lay undiscovered is because he had to wait years to get on the famous Supercorso at Italy’s elite coaching school. He didn’t have the contacts, nor the pedigree of being an ex-player to be put at the front of the queue.
Another is the lack of patience in the Italian game. Often Sarri got the boot before his ideas had time to take hold. “Like every revolutionary Sarri was long misunderstood,” wrote Francesco Saverio Intorcia in La Repubblica.
“The young Walt Disney was sacked because he lacked imagination. They advised Marilyn Monroe to become a secretary and Elvis to go back to driving a lorry.”
Luckily Sarri did not pack it all in and return to the banking sector. Had he done so he would now be chancellor of the exchequer, Inter manager Luciano Spalletti has quipped.
What can Chelsea expect?
Sarri came up against Pep Guardiola’s Manchester City in the Champions League last season
Pep Guardiola, no less, is a huge fan of Sarri’s. Before Manchester City played Napoli in the Champions League last season, the Catalan couldn’t hide his respect for the Tuscan’s brand of football.
“I encourage you and the fans to come next Tuesday because they will watch an amazing game,” said the City boss. “Two teams with the same idea: high pressing, win the ball, short passes, dynamic in front. I am very pleased to face one of the coaches I admire the most.”
At a charity golf day put on by former Chelsea player and manager Gianluca Vialli every year to raise money and awareness of amyotrophic lateral sclerosis, also known as Lou Gehrig’s disease, Guardiola called the football Napoli play “a brindisi al sole” – a toast to the sun – presumably because you can’t help but raise a glass to it when confronted by its splendour.
Shortly afterwards, Guardiola went out for a bite to eat with Sacchi and Sarri in Milano Marittima, which sounds like a fantasy dinner party for football purists everywhere. It speaks volumes that Sarri has the respect of two of the game’s pioneers.
But Sacchi and Guardiola are not the only ones. When Bournemouth manager Eddie Howe attended some of Sarri’s training sessions at Empoli, it opened his mind to a different way of approaching certain phases of play.
At a coaching conference in Rio de Janeiro last summer, former Milan, Roma, Juventus and England boss Fabio Capello recommended his South American colleagues fly out to study Sarri’s methods up close.
He said he told them: “There’s something new in football thanks to Sarri. Something interesting. Every 20 years there is some innovation. After Ajax there was Sacchi’s Milan, then Guardiola, who sent football to sleep a little. Luckily Sarri is waking it up again.”
Vialli put it another way in La Gazzetta dello Sport. “Going to [Napoli’s training ground] Castelvolturno is like going to Palo Alto [part of the high-tech Silicon Valley near San Francisco]. There’s innovation, creativity.”
How will he fit into Chelsea’s structure?
Maurizio Sarri’s Serie A record at Napoli
Just as Conte changed the Premier League with the back three, expect Sarri to enrich the game in this country from a tactical perspective. Chelsea can expect to transition from one style to another.
The contrasts are stark between Sarri and Conte. But the players will experience the same meticulous attention to detail.
In the summer of a World Cup dominated by set-pieces it feels entirely appropriate that the Premier League is welcoming a manager who was nicknamed “Mister 33” for the sheer variety of corner and free-kick routines he devised.
Watford midfielder Nathaniel Chalobah spent a year on loan at Napoli two seasons ago and couldn’t believe how much time was spent on throw-ins.
“I got there and I’d never practised a throw-in in my life,” he said. “They have 10 different signals and they gave me a sheet of paper to study after my first day. At this point I’m lost.
“He got really impatient with me as he expected me to pick it up really quickly. I used to stand behind [Marek] Hamsik and follow him to see what he was doing.”
Think of them as brushstrokes in the masterpiece Sarri painted at Napoli.
He didn’t win anything in his time at the San Paolo. But as Spalletti said of his fellow Tuscan, Sarri deserved “lo Scudetto del Manuale del Calcio” – the textbook title – because football, as Sarri teaches it, is how it should be taught everywhere.
It’s beautiful to watch and should generate great excitement among Chelsea fans.

Hi, can I request something for our boy John? Where he has a nightmare or something angsty and radios Rook who's like "hang on bby im on my way" and just sneaks into the ranch to comfort him? I don't know, I'm in a soft mood and wanna hug someone... also I love your blog, you're amazing and so is your writing just
Come to Me
wc: ~1,000
sorry these have all been shorter as of late! i’m currently on a five day migraine spree. i have a ko-fi and take commissions!
It wasn’t normal for Rook to sleep soundly through the night with all the explosions and gunfire that shook Hope County to its core. She needed to be able to defend herself at a moment’s notice in case any of the cult members stumble upon her resting spot.
That didn’t stop her from grumbling and slapping the ground around her for her radio as she heard it crackling in her sleep. The first time she heard her name echo against the empty confines of the cabin she had decided to spend the night in, she ignored it. Then she heard her name being called over and over and over.
Finally, her fingers wrapped around her radio and she dragged it to her face, but before she could press the button and start barking into the speaker, she heard the voice again.
“Rook, if you can hear this…I need you.” The deputy’s breath caught in her throat as she felt her heart squeeze. Normally at this time of night, there was a sultry, predatory note to John’s voice, but right now his voice was small and his words were slow.
She was wide awake and already struggling to shimmy out of her sleeping bag as fast as her tired body would move. John was prone to whining and crooning to get what he wanted from the deputy, but this sounded different. He sounded vulnerable.
“I’m here, I’m here. Are you okay? Where are you?” Rook spoke in a soft voice, trying to keep the pitch from spiking too much and alerting him to her worry. Since John and Rook had gotten closer the last few weeks he’d developed a system of how to gauge whether he should worry or not: if Rook was worried, it was going to be a shitstorm.
“I’m at the ranch, I couldn’t sleep. I-are you…are you in the valley? I wanted to give you your space so I didn’t keep too close of an eye on you today.” Rook could imagine John laying in bed with his radio next to his cheek and the blankets pulled up to his chin.
“I wondered why my radio was awfully silent today, but I had figured you were just busy with things,” Rook would pause between sentence fragments as she focused on packing her things up and talking to John at the same time. “I’ll be there soon, okay? Just hold on.”
Once Rook had her belongings stashed in the bed of a Peggie truck she’d found on the side of the road, she sped off towards the Seed Ranch. Considering the speed limit wasn’t being enforced by the local law enforcement (namely herself), it didn’t take her long to get to John.
She had to park her car down the street a ways so that she didn’t alert the cult to her presence. It wasn’t often that Rook could just waltz up to the ranch without being shot at, but those were usually days that she needed John’s comfort. Otherwise, he found it rather impressive that he couldn’t see her coming.
Rook crouched and walked through the tree line as quietly as she could, only having to render two cultists unconscious before reaching the back door of the ranch house.
The lights were off when she closed the back door behind her, but she figured if John wasn’t downstairs and waiting for her then he was still in his room.
She walked with heavy footsteps through the house so that she didn’t alarm John and send him into a frenzy of panic when he had already sounded so upset. Rook was about to knock on his bedroom door when it was flung open and she was pulled into a bone-crushing hug.
His arms were around her shoulders and his hands were in her hair and on the back of her neck. Rook was taken by surprise so she’d had to resist the urge to fight her way out of his grasp, but she focused on John’s heavy breathing and it was easy for her to calm down.
“You’re okay, John. You’re going to be alright.” Her arms came up around his waist as she rubbed circled against the small of his back. His grip was tight but not suffocatingly so. The way his fingertips grasped at the fabric of her shirt was desperate, and when she finally pulled away to look at the youngest Seed, her heart broke.
His eyes were shiny and red, the skin around them freckled with red spots. That familiar pain in his eyes was heavy as he searched Rook’s own gaze for any emotion. She touched his cheekbone with a sad smile, gently brushing away any remnants of his tears.
“C’mon, let’s get back into bed.” She nodded her head towards the sheets thrown haphazardly off the bed, and John nodded quietly. She took his hands in her own before turning and leading him back to bed. They crawled onto the mattress, the foam dipping slightly under their weight, and Rook pulled the sheets over the two of them.
John shifted around until Rook was comfortable in his arms, and while he played with her hair she ran her fingertips up and down his chest to try and soothe him.
“I…I felt so cold before, but now…you feel so warm.” It was the first thing John said since she’d arrived at his home, but it brought a smile to her face nonetheless. He turned on his side and buried his face into the crook of her neck with a deep inhale. She could feel a small smile forming on his face, and Rook felt her heart beat harder in her chest.
“Get some sleep, John. I’ll be here in the morning, I promise.” She whispered softly as she continued to run her fingers up and down his torso, and soon after her suggestion, small snores began to emanate from the person curled against her body.
Rook couldn’t be any happier than she was now.

I Believe I Can Fly

TW: ALCOHOL
His responsibilities for the night were done and John could feel the exhaustion settling into his bones.
As soon as he’d gotten back to the ranch with his siblings, John had gone upstairs to change into comfier clothes while Jacob made some coffee and Joseph lit the fireplace. Faith had taken up the job of shifting furniture around so that they could all be closer to each other.
With all the chaos going on in Hope County since the Deputy arrived, the three brothers didn’t get to spend as much time together as they used to. Hence why the three of them were together for some scheduled family time.
To John, the sound of the wine bottle being uncorked was instant relief, just as the sound of coffee dripping into the pot was for Jacob.
John grabbed a copy of the book he was currently reading and decided to settle in on the couch once he’d corked his wine. Similar to a cat, John stretched out with his head resting against one of the sofa’s armrests and his legs taking up a sofa cushion or two. As soon as his coffee was done, Jacob came into the living room and with a devilish smirk on his face, grabbed John’s ankles and knocked them off the couch.
Jacob took up the loveseat that was to the right of his youngest brother, the latter of whom was grumbling and readjusting himself again. Faith took up the rest of the sofa that John wasn’t occupying and Joseph was in the loveseat to the left.
Having peace and quiet without anywhere to go or anything to do was serene to the small family. But naturally, it couldn’t last forever.
At about a quarter to midnight, the Seeds were still in the living room, though their seats had shifted and positions had changed into more relaxed ones.
Jacob picked up the book that was open and covering his face as he thought he heard clunking from above. Joseph had sat up as well from his section of the couch he was occupying, but John just shifted a bit and started groaning.
“Shut it John, you can whine all you want once we figure out what the hell that is. You have guards around this place, right?” Jacob folded the book closed and set it on the floor underneath his chair. He got to his feet as he angled his head towards the ceiling.
Some more thumping.
“For the love of God, not again! Just please don’t break the-” John rubbed his hands over his face and climbed off the sofa as he raised his voice, but the youngest brother was cut off by the sound of shattering glass.
“With great power, comes great responsibility, Johnny!” Jacob had his gun out in a flash, Joseph and Faith had jumped to their feet, and a few guards had come rushing into the ranch house. Yet John was still reclined on the sofa, his posture conveying annoyance instead of alarm.
From the skylight above John’s dining table, was a descending deputy with a bottle of liquor in her hand as she hollered at the top of her lungs.
A climbing grapple was attached to the window Rook had fallen through, and a carabine was clipped to a contraption around her waist. She was swinging through the air by a rope, laughing obnoxiously with a grin on her face.
Jacob had lowered his gun and waved off the members of the flock that had their guns aimed at their unexpected guest. When they didn’t move from their positions from the shock of seeing the deputy in such a state, Jacob rolled his eyes and spoke up.
“Dismissed.” His voice was loud and threatening, which got the deputy’s attention while she was taking another sip from the bottle in her hand.
“Jacob! Don’t be so mean to the poor guys!” Her legs swung forward then back, increasing the amount of distance she covered. Jacob raised an eyebrow in amusement, a ghost of a smile on his face.
“They didn’t follow orders pup,” He shrugged and slowly walked over to the dining table so that he was underneath the arc of the deputy’s swing. Jacob couldn’t help but just stand there and watch her as she moved through the air. “She done this before, John?”
John was already making his way over to the deputy, looking thoroughly disgruntled that he’d had to give up his comfort for her safety.
“Last week she came barging in through the spare bedroom upstairs with a stupid cowboy hat on screeching-” John was starting to explain that the deputy had, in fact, started making a habit out of appearing at the ranch unannounced and highly intoxicated. Just as he’d started to tell his eldest brother what phrase Rook had shouted into the ranch house, she had started yelling it yet again. “-YIPPIE KIYAY MOTHERFUCKERS!”
Her hands were thrown above her head as her body started to rotate in the air, but she’d forgotten she was holding a bottle of liquor. The bottle crashed to the ground, nearly missing Jacob’s shoulder on the way down, and sprayed alcohol all over John’s floor.
“It’s...odd seeing her act this way.” Faith spoke up from where she stood transfixed by the other woman in the house. Joseph chuckled softly and placed a hand on Faith’s shoulder before walking over to his brothers.
“We should try to convince her to come down before she hurts herself. Faith, will you make sure the guest bedroom is clean for her?” Joseph looked over at Faith, who nodded in response and hurried off.
“C’mon pup, time to come down.” Jacob’s tone was oozing with boredom as his arms folded across his chest. Rook shook her head, pouting as she gazed down at her broken bottle.
“No can do, lumberjack. I don’t want to come down. It’s nice and cool up here, plus I look really hot.” She pointed to Jacob with a confident nod, but he just rolled his eyes in response. Then Rook swung particularly far and nearly hit the antler chandelier hanging above the table, and Jacob felt his stomach drop.
“Deputy! Calm...just come on down now. Carefully. We don’t need you getting hurt now.” Joseph reached his hands up and out to Rook, his eyes slightly wide with panic as she gave another big kick to swing herself again.
“It’s like a giant swing. Maybe if you come join me I can show you how fun it is.” Rook leaned back so that she was looking at Joseph upside down, and she shot him a wink. Jacob erupted into a bout of rumbling laughter and John sighed dramatically while Joseph stood there slightly slackjawed.
Rook gasped as she noticed John coming closer to where she was suspended in the air. She started swinging her legs to counteract the momentum she had acquired, her tongue sticking out of the side of her lips as she concentrated.
“My darling, will you please come down before you get hurt? We can’t have such a delicate thing like you breaking anything, now can we?” John’s voice was warm and inviting, but Rook didn’t need much convincing from the third brother.
She started to let the rope out, bringing herself closer to the ground. Rook tried to angle herself so that her feet would land on the table, but in her drunken stupor, her fingers let too much rope go at once.
“Oh shit!” She slurred as her body dropped the few feet above the dining table and she landed on top of it with a loud bang. Pain radiated from the backside of her body, but she couldn’t help but giggle.
“Are you alright?” Joseph took a step towards the deputy as she rolled over on the table, groaning through her laughter.
“I’m fine, I just...ugh everything’s starting to swim.” Rook wiggled towards the edge of the table, where Jacob helped set her feet on the ground as Faith came back down the stairs.
“Did Rook fall? I heard a loud noise.” She raised her eyebrows as she watched John and Jacob hold the deputy up, who was beginning turning a shade paler.
“Right onto my poor table. I’m surprised she didn’t splinter the wood. We’re going to take her upstairs, Faith. Would you mind looking in on her every so often to make sure she hasn’t choked on her own vomit?” John’s voice sharpened towards the end of his sentence, the scolding directed towards the deputy reliant on him and Jacob to go anywhere.
“I’ll make sure she’s alright.” Faith nodded and continued past them and into the kitchen.
As the brother’s ascended the staircase to the guest room, Rook was softly humming the tune to “Oh John” with closed eyes and a relaxed posture.
She looked peaceful at the moment with her arms wrapped around John and Jacob’s shoulders, but they all knew she was going to be in a world of hurt in the morning.

ENTRY: JESS BLACK
These mountains used to be so peaceful before the cult got here. Sure, Eli and the Whitetails would run around with their guns and trucks, but they were harmless. They never shot anybody or tortured anybody. These damn cultists...what I wouldn’t give to put an end to the whole fuckin’ thing.

Can I request a matchup with the Seed bro’s please? I’m a 5”2 27 year old female with long blonde hair. Curvy but not fat. I like camping, road trips, reading and writing. I suffer with depression and anxiety as well as having crohn’s disease which is painful and uncomfortable and the reason I am depressed. I also have quite a temper and if someone makes me mad I tend to lose it. I hate technology and summer as I always burn, I prefer winter coz I like to snuggle in a blanket.
I think you’d be great with…
Jacob Seed!
despite all the literal burn scars on this big bois skin, he tends to sunburn easily too. he just doesn’t ever really do anything about it.
jacob loves to play with your hair. if he’s feeling especially stressed he’ll finger comb it as you sit in his lap or snuggle up to him.
his hands often go to your waist with a firm grip when he sees other people try and flirt with you.
when you have an easier week, jacob will suggest going on camping trips throughout the whitetails and the henbane.
you take turns driving. when its jacobs turn his hand is usually on your thigh, giving you reassuring squeezes. you look up from your book and smile with a slight blush each time.
the first time your depression gets to its lowest, it takes jacob a few days to notice that you’re extremely out of sorts.
he does what he can to help while also trying to give you your space so you don’t feel suffocated.
he’ll wrap you in blankets and refuses to leave you by yourself in a room, often times taking you with him to go take care of business or do things around the house.
when your stomach starts to hurt jacob will try to make food that he hopes will be easier on you and he’ll try to make sure you’re as comfortable as possible. will absolutely take care of you and refuse to let you do most things for yourself when you’re hurting.
your fights are absolutely wild. jacob initially is the one to get heated but can quickly regain control over his temper, but at that point you’re angry, so he’ll either try to talk it out or remove himself from the situation until you’ve both cooled down.
there ya are love! my commissions are open and so are my requests!

Hello there! Rlly enjoying your blog! Still doing matchups? I'm a 5'3" girl, 18, with short ( john seed like) dark brown hair and I'm Bisexual! I have green eyes. I really like cats and I have a great interest in music! I play bassoon, piano, and baritone. I like night time but afraid of the dark and really enjoy spending time with people despite having anxiety and intense ptsd. Coffee while watching sunrise is an enjoyable hobby of mine. Thanks in advance! Have a good day!
I ship you with…
John Seed!
every morning john wakes you up with a warm cup of coffee and opens the blinds so that the two of you can enjoy the sunrise in bed.
the first time he hears you playing the piano, he was in the other room making dinner when he heard the first few keys. john thought you were playing around until he noticed a pattern.
john poked his head into the room and watched in awe until the smoke alarm started to go off.
for your birthday he’ll get you pick out a pair of kittens to rescue (their names are mozart and harmony).
the first time john finds out you’re afraid of the dark, he’s a little surprised, but he’s adorable about it. he has members of the cult string up soft faerie lights around the house where there is less light.
john can recognize the signs of anixety fairly well, so when he sees all of your personal anxious ticks surface, he’s quick to act and will do what he can to comfort you.
this includes but is not limited to: making tea, coffee, tucking you in with blankets, and having cuddle sessions.
john has a vinyl record player that he likes to bring home new records for the two of you to enjoy while you do things around the house.
it was hard for him to open up about his past to you, but when he learned that you have one of your own, it comforted him in a way. it helps ease the blame he feels on his shoulders and soothe the doubts he has about himself as a person and the validity of his feelings.
i hope you have a good day as well! requests or commission me!

I’m hoping matchups are still open,, So I’m a 5’10 female. Either male or female idc. I have anxiety and autism. I crave to be physically touched, hugs and holding hands. My humor is broad and I laugh at anything and in no way will back down from an argument. I love humor in a loved one and it’s kind of a must. I’d like to be a bit adventurous (non sexual). I cry when people yell at me bc I can’t stand loud noises (slamming doors also etc). I’m kinda awkward and make noises at random moments
I see you with…
John Seed!
when this boy finds out you love to be touched, held, and everything inbetween, get ready for it to never stop.
john’s a touch starved as well, so anything he can get he takes. he’ll lean into your touch like he’s never felt it before every single time. he’s wrapped around your pretty little finger.
your tendency to debate things is like heaven to john, unless he’s on the losing side or in trouble. he loves to put his lawyer skills to use in harmless arguments and debate things with you.
john likes to make you laugh, whether its with a corny pun or an elaborate joke. especially when you’re feeling sad or in a bad mood, he does his best to shower you with affection and bad jokes.
he’ll make sure not to be too suffocating or smothering.
john tries to get you to try new things (and boy can he afford it).
he’ll start of simple with taking you around the different areas of the valley, then the mountains, then the henbane.
then he’ll start taking you to other cities and even out of the state or country if you’d like. whenever he has free time he likes to spend it with you whether you’re at home and you guys are attempting to cook new things or going on a little trip.
the squeals are his favorite. john will pop out behind corners or sneak up on you and grab your waist to get a rise out of you. he loves all the different noises you make.
your sensitivity to noise allows john to practice and exercise control over his temper so that he doesn’t upset you.
whenever he does fuck up and raise his voice a little too loud , he apologizes constantly and tries to help you calm down.
i hope you like it! here’s my masterlist and my asks are open!

About the Character
Your muse’s name: jezebel ‘belle’ seed aka the healer
One favorite picture/face claim of your muse: elizabeth gillies
Two headcanons you have for your muse:
along with john, jezebel is a major financial contributor to the project. when the seeds were torn apart she was adopted out to a rich family in virginia. she lived off her adopted parents’ money and inherited multi-million dollar fortune when they died in a plane wreck.
jezebel is very compassionate and refuses to commit any violent acts unless absolutely necessary (i.e. if her direct orders are disobeyed and people die as a result). when she does get angry, she has wrath that gives john a run for his money.
jezebel used to sing ‘only you’ by the platters to john and joseph when they were children to help them sleep. it’s why jacob chose the song for his training. he thinks she’s strong for splitting the responsibility with him when she was so young.
Three things your muse loves doing in their free time:
cooking meals for her brothers and sister, especially at project get-togethers.
picking and admiring flowers. she’ll often press them and make decorations out of them.
she likes to wander around the county helping people, distributing supplies, and visiting her siblings.
Seven people your muse loves/likes:
jacob seed, her oldest brother. thick as thieves. seen as polar opposites.
joseph seed, her older brother. admires his devotion to their family for bringing them back together. they obsessed over superheroes together as children.
john seed, her younger brother. they often bicker but never stay mad at each other long. she’s one of the few things that can calm him when he flies off the handle.
faith seed/rachel jessop, her younger sister. jezebel makes sure to welcome faith with open arms and makes her feel apart of the family. they go on tangents of bliss properties often.
deputy tessa rook, the lamb. despite her role in the war of hope county, tessa and jezebel find a friend in each other. jezebel serves as a safe space for tessa and refuses to hand the deputy over to her siblings.
A phobia your muse has:
jezebel is afraid of dying. she knows the prophecy and has nightmares of how her death could possibly play out if the deputy fulfills her destiny. she’s even more afraid of losing her family again. having them ripped from her once was enough. she can’t stand the thought of being alone again.

__this is part of my in memoriam series that i’ve been working on__
Whitehorse set the small box down on the porch to knock, then took his hat off his head and held it in his hands. He could feel the brim of the hat tapping against his thigh, and when he looked down he saw that his hands were shaking.
This wasn’t the first time he’s had to give notice for either victims or officers that had died in the line of duty, but this had been Rook. It was different.
Earl felt that she was his work daughter, as well with Staci and Joey. They’d been to each others houses or apartments for dinner and enjoyed each other even at work.
The door swung open and Whitehorse could have sworn his soul left his body and was never going to come back. He knew it wasn’t her, he’d watched her die.
The young woman in front of him was a spitting image of Rook, just five or so years younger.
Her eyes moved over the sheriff to try and figure out who he was and why he was here, as Earl was too stunned into silence.
“This is about my sister, isn’t it?”
