yan! ex husband (cont.)
Things got a little messy with my life within 5 days after I uploaded. I was almost disowned but things are better now. I was planning on uploading soon but I only got time now.
next
You barely remember when it started âwhen was the last time he sat down and spent time with you instead brushing you off in your rare times of rest. You do understand how time consuming his daily activities are. He was, after all, a professor by day and a medical student at night. So, you would smile at him and assure him that you always understand and you are fine with less date nights and hangouts. But, you were only asking a bare minimum from him âyou just want some time where you both just sit in each otherâs presence and let the silence be because it brought you comfort.
You just want to know that he is still there.
That, in some way or form, you still matter.
(In the back of your mind, you wonder if it is a right choice to get married as soon as you both finished your undergraduate degrees.)
(You brush the traitorous thoughts away from your mind.)
Just a little more. You can still wait.
â
Was it by a stroke of unfortunate circumstances, you wonder as you watched him grinned widely as he finished med school and immediately was recruited to some hospital while his words came from one ear to another. He seems so happy and less stressed as you try to keep up with him.Â
âWhat do you think, love?â
What do you think?Â
âWhat?â
âI asked if we can move closer to my workplace?â He repeated and you felt that once again your world froze. âIt will be a different environment from here. The distance is a little over five hours in this place. Wouldn't it be more convenient?â
âOh, yeah.â Convenient for him, sure. But, what about your career? âBut, it will be far from mine.â
He brushed you off. âWell, you can always quit right?â Then he moved on to the next topic as if you agreed.
Oh.
Do you really matter to him at all?
â
You often heard from your friends that sometimes being together wouldnât be enough if the relationship becomes stagnant and prison for your well-being. You had denied everything that is slowly ruining your relationship for years now, you let go of your convictions, passions, and dreams just for him. Let him shine and soar high while you are left scrambling in the ground.Â
It was not like this before.Â
Before, he listened. He was there before, there used to be a lot more love and smiles.Â
Home was him before.
Home is not him now.
â
You stared at the documents in your hand, you had talked to your attorney about the procedures and now you need his signature.
âLove?â Heâs back early for a change.
Itâs time to end this godforsaken marriage and choose yourself for once.
âI need you to sign this.â
There is no going back to the past.

âPenelope, what the hell is this?â You asked, a laugh leaving your lips as you looked over the container of what looked to be normal chocolate. âWell! I found it online and apparently itâs some of that chocolate that you eat and you just wanna go crazy on the first person you see.â She giggled.
A girls night meant all sorts of things but whenever Penelope pulled out presents, you knew exactly where this was going. You and the girls had met up at her place about an hour ago. After ordering Chinese takeout and having way too much wine, the night had taken a bit of a turn when it came to discussions. Women talk. Sex was a main topic between you and your small friend group.
âSo you are giving them to me?! P, I donât even have a boyfriend.â You laughed. âWho needs a boyfriend whenever you can have fun with anyone in the world. Just keep them.â
And so you did. It was days after the fact whenever you were inviting Spencer over for a marathon of your favorite show. It was going to be fun, you and your best friend from the office watching your favorite show together. Heâd offered to pick up food on the way, which heâd stuck with a good Thai place that you both had eaten at numerous times before whenever you got back from a particularly late case.
Spencer was your best friend on the team, the both of you being closer in age compared to the rest of the crew you worked with. Plus you had similar interests when it came to books, movies, among other things. Youâd greeted him with a wide smile the minute the door opened. âHey!â You grinned while moving to hug him. Despite his disdain for hugs or being touched, heâd slowly began to let you in more. He was happy to hug you or have you hold his hand whenever you needed to pull him somewhere else in a crowded room without losing him.
He enjoyed being by your side. Honestly, he was sure he was in love with you because of how caring you were. You listened to his rambles and even asked him further questions. You even laughed at the jokes that were complicated to understand. You were truly a light shining bright on the team. âI hope you have snacks because I didnât even stop.â Spencer groaned after returning the hug with one arm as his foot kicked the front door shut. âI do. I have a lot in the kitchen.â You assured.
You'd started the new season of your show together and gotten through dinner within a few episodes before Spencer disappeared into the kitchen as you paused the program on tv. âDonât take too long! I gotta see how this plays out!â You called while leaning back against the couch, pulling the blanket over your body while letting out a soft hum. Spencer had ended up grabbing some chocolate. Which he didnât read over the label as he grabbed a tab from the container and looked it over. âThatâs cute. Itâs got little shapes.â He chuckled to himself, breaking one in half as he was moving to take a bite from the rich milk chocolate. It was to die for, so he had to take the other half to you so you could try before you both tore into the bag together.
âTry this. Itâs so rich. I actually love it.â Heâd commented. You werenât paying attention to what the chocolate looked like, bringing it up to your nose and smelling it before you were pulling the piece in your mouth. Which it was delicious, your eyebrows raising. âWow, that really is good.â You laughed, watching as Spencer was sitting down and passing over snacks to you. âWe can eat the chocolate later. You know sweet stuff can either send me flying on the walls or I end up feeling bad to do anything.â Fair enough.
It was an hour later when you were on another episode, your body was feeling hot as you shifted uncomfortably on the couch. You wouldnât like to think that you were attracted to the program, it was a horror series and you were in the middle of a chase scene. So why else were you squirming?
Just as you were going to excuse yourself to take care of the heat in your belly, you noticed Spencer shifting uncomfortably, a pillow resting over his lap. Then you thought about the chocolate, your eyes widening as you were shooting up from the couch and rushing to the kitchen. Spencer watched you, turning slightly on the couch to watch you curiously through the doorway. Thatâs when you see the box, a soft groan leaving your lips as you lifted up the sex candy while bringing a hand up to rest against your face. â
Just great. You knew you shouldâve just put it in your room.
âSpencer.â The sound of your voice had him nearly jumping out of his skin as he quickly faced the tv again. âYeah?â He asked as his hand clutched the pillow harder. Maybe youâd caught him. Even someone who wasnât a profiler could tell there was something going on, not to mention the growing tension between the both of you.
Mutual pining was normal and you both werenât exempt from that. Spencer was an awkward rambler but you found it endearing. Just as he found you as equally as endearing even if you were quiet a good majority of the time and relished in his ramblings about whatever was brought up. You both enjoyed each other's presence, the two of you spending time together more often than not.
Those unsaid mutual feelings made this whole situation worse.
You approached the couch again as you slowly sat down beside Spencer again, body leaning back against the couch as you could feel yourself hot, face flushed as you couldnât sit still to save your life. Spencer had now taken notice, clearing his throat. âI-I uh.. I may need to leave soon. M-momâs facility called.â A lie but it would be a smooth getaway.
âOh, yeah. Uh, it might be for the best! I forgot that I have to..â Your eyes glanced around the room. âReorganize my bookshelf!â Less subtle. âR-right. Uh, This seems weird but can you close your eyes for a minute? I just..â His eyes were glued on the pillow, making you bring your eyes down as well. âO-oh.â
âItâs not because of the show!â He squeaked, face bright red as he was looking back at the screen. âI donât- I donât know why but I was looking at you and it just.. I donât know!â He whined. His awkwardness made it hard for him to admit why there was a pillow on his lap outright, however you had clocked the reasons why.
âYou know the chocolate..? Uh, Penelope gave me them the other day as a joke and they are.. They are essentially just sex chocolate.â Your face was hot, chest rising and falling as you were feeling the gush of slick in your panties from the heightened arousal. âWait. Aphrodisiacs?!â Spencer was looking at you with wide eyes, mouth agape in shock. Well, at least he didnt feel as bad from getting hard after giving you a few glances. There was a reason behind it.
The both of you stared at one another, faces hot and eyes blown out with lust. âSo uh.. How long does this last?â Spencer finally asked, his brain being too clouded over with lust as he stared in your direction. âI-I wouldnât know.. I never used them.â Your nose crinkled as the both of you couldnât seem to tear your eyes away from one another. âI, uh, I lied about my reason to leave.â He stated the obvious while you couldnât help but let a little laugh escape your lips. âI know..â You admitted, slowly pushing yourself to stand. âI um.. I donât actually have to reorganize my bookshelf either..â You laughed awkwardly while heading over to stand in front of your best friend, hand moving to gently rest over the pillow. âI donât want you to go.. Not yet. Can you, um, help me out a little bit? I trust you and you are here.â You rambled on as you put your hands together slowly. Spencer was looking at you with wide eyes as he nodded slowly.
âIâll help.â You were both a bit awkward at first, the male letting you move the pillow before you were straddling his waist, the show in the background continuing to run as your best friend was blushing nervously. âI gotta admit that Iâve only done this one time before..â He spoke while you offered a smile. âItâs alright.â You whispered as you let your head dip down to connect your lips with his. Your bodies were buzzing with electricity as you were deepening the kiss, your hands tangling in his hair while his hands were gripping your hips.
You never thought youâd be in this position, tongue in your closest friendâs mouth while your hips were grinding down against his. You felt a fire inside of you, your body desperate to be bare and touched. As you pulled out of the kiss much to Spencerâs dismay, you were tugging your shirt over your head before tossing it somewhere else in the room. The sight of your breasts in a white bra had Spencerâs Adams apple bobbing as his eyes were trained on the lace that accentuated your skin. âItâs pretty right? One of my favorites.â You comment while watching his eyes stare at your tits with a new sense of hunger in his eyes.
You took it as a great sign as your hand was reaching behind you, unclasping the top before letting it fall somewhere with your shirt. His hands were quickly coming up to cup your breasts before he was just diving right in, wet kisses being pressed against your skin before his lips were wrapping around your nipple, tongue flicking over the nub as your fingers tangled in his hair. âFuck.â You cursed while his attention was focused on your chest.
Your body was perfect.
As he had gotten enough though, he was pulling back to examine your chest that was covered in a few hickies and your hardened nipples. âYou look so pretty.â It wasnât akin to being called a whore or a slut but you honestly liked it. The way he complimented your body had your cheeks heating up as you were lifting your hips when he had gained enough confidence to work on your pants. Heâd tugged down your pants and panties before working on his own pants.
âEager?â You commented, a little giggle leaving your lips as Spencer looked at you as if youâd grown another head. âHave you seen yourself?! Of course Iâm eager!â He defended himself, causing the both of you to share a laugh. âI hate to rush this but-â He was cut off by a groan as your hand reached between you both to give his leaking cock a few tugs. âI know, me too. You can make up for the lack of foreplay later.â You wiggled your eyebrows as you pressed your lips against his once more, your leaking hole sinking down onto his cock.
The both of you had let out moans muffled in one anotherâs mouths as your hips rocked slowly, getting adjusted to the manâs thick cock. It was always the awkward nerds who had the best surprises.
Your head was falling on his shoulder as he held your hips with a bruising grip. He wasnât one to have sex often, not being lucky like Derek in the department of women effortlessly throwing themselves at him. He knew that this scenario was one he never imagined happening, your velvety walls clenching tightly around this bare cock while you essentially used him as a human dildo to get yourself off.
He wasnât complaining in the slightest, watching your face contort in ecstasy as his hips were thrusting upwards to slam into your leaking cunt, a groan falling from his lips as his head tilted back against the sofa. You were whining and moaning with each thrust that he matched with your movements, eventually pushing the one place you needed most. The impact had your hands clutching tightly to his shoulders as you let your mouth fall open with a soft cry.
âOh my god, fuck, Iâm gonna cum.â Your words were slurred, the effects of the aphrodisiacs heightening all of your arousal so you felt like you were going to burst at the seams. Your body was hot, hips surely bruised by Spencerâs rough grip as he slammed into you as well as your legs shaking from their position.
When you did hit your peak, you were tightly grabbing Spencerâs shoulders as your hips slammed down into his lap, ass hitting his thighs at an unsteady rhythm. Spencer however, was quickly flipping you both over, your body sprawled out against your living room couch as he was rolling on top of you.
Taking the opportunity, he wasnât skipping a beat as his hips slammed into yours, your sensitive cunt contracting around his cock as he was bringing himself to climax. As your moans and whines from overstimulation echoed in the apartment, his own whines of desperation were falling from his lips.
His cock twitched inside of your used pussy, quickly making the effort to pull out of you as he jerked at his leaking cock, a low huff leaving his lips as ropes of cum were now pooling in your stomach, glazing your bare skin as he let out a weak whine. As you lay there covered in his spent, your chest was rising and falling at a rapid pace as you made the effort to catch your breath.
âI think that chocolate needs to be thrown away to avoid incidents like this again,â his voice pulled you out of your post sex haze as you laughed a little. âAre you kidding? I think we need to do this every time we watch our show together.â You teased, making Spencer shake his head with a smile.
âAt least hide it for when you have anyone else over. I donât think Iâll survive if this mix up happens with someone else.â

This is close enough for a beggar like him.
âWhen Yui turns threeâŚâ Satoru turns to look at you with a small smile and a look in his eyes that you know too well not to understand at a glance. âWhen Yui turns three?â You urged him to continue, â...we make another one. Hopefully, a baby boy.â He pulled you on top of him as you laughed fondly.
âI canât even count on my fingers how many times you said that already.â You giggled, kissing his blushing face. âI canât have you forgetting. Itâs a must. We make cute babies.â He spoke each sentence in between pecks. â Yeah, but sheâs only 5 months old, Satoru.â You put your head on his chest, feeling him caress your hair.
âI know, but I wanna tell you in advance.â Moments like this make you forget about all the problems and fights that you have with him. âBut weâre gonna get married first, of course.â You looked up at him, watching his eyes glimmer. âYouâre asking me to marry you?â You poked his side.
âOf course, what else am I gonna do with you?â He flips you over, kissing your neck and chest before attempting to pull the straps of your nighties down your shoulders. âThis is for your daughter, donât even try.â You pointed a finger at his nose as he pouted, âSheâs asleep. Canât I get a sip?â He wiggled his eyebrows at you making you giggle.
âWhat is going on with you?â He kissed your lips, joining you in your joy. Just two days ago, you and Satoru were screaming at each otherâs faces because of how he got angry at you for talking back to his mother. She came into his house, trying to fight you because you got Yuiâs ears pierced. You and Satoru agreed on it, but he didnât like that you âtalked backâ to his mom.
And now, itâs all gone. Washed away by his touches. Drowned away by his kisses and moans. âRemember when we did this while you were pregnant?â You could hear his smirk as he nibbled on your skin. You're now lying sideways with your hand holding one of your legs up. His strong arms were wrapped around your waist, caressing your lower stomach.
âGonna put another one here in a few years.â He grunted when you reached for his hair, pressing him closer to you. âSatoruâŚâ His breath on the shell of your ear only made you heat up more. You sobbed as his thrust got faster and harder. âYeah, you want that.â He bit your ear lightly as you arched your back, whimpering.
You were just about to tell him that youâre close but Satoru got your body memorized. His hand was already trailing down to your womanhood, fingers rubbing on your nub as he coaxed you to your climax and followed shortly after. He finished inside you with your name flowing smoothly out of his lips. You stayed in the same position; with him still inside you as he pushed your legs together.
It was only one of those nights that made you believe that youâd be together until the end.
â...a new one?â Satoruâs voice snapped you back to reality. âHm?â You turned to him, seeing that he was already staring at you. Yesterday, you and Toji fought. And today, you did again. Is the honeymoon phase they were saying already over? You gritted your teeth. âAre you still thinking about it?â Satoruâs voice was laced with concern as he drove.
Yesterday afternoon, you and Toji were talking about how much louder it gets when there are more kids around. Other than Yuuji, a little girl from their neighborhood named Nobara also joinedâa name Yui cannot pronounce correctly but kept saying anyway.Â
With four children running around the house, you and Toji could only communicate with eyes, teasing like a married couple planning for an addition. You two could only joke around the topic, though, knowing how serious and how big a responsibility it will be.Â
Besides, your relationship is still young and you would like to get married first before taking a step like that. But marriage still feels pretty far for you and Toji. Â
âLook, Iâm sure he doesnât mean it like that.â Satoru tried to comfort you. âHis wife used to do that stuff and now heâs just sharing it with you.â He explained. You canât help but feel like you were being petty. The kids had a playdate and you thought that making a bit of juice for their picnic would give them a better experience.
Toji started randomly talking about how his wife had little cousins and she refused to give them juice until they were 5 because itâs terrible for toddlersâ health. And though, you understand this, the way he said it just put you off. You felt like he was comparing you to her and you just didnât like the way it made you feel.Â
Before, there were times when he would mindlessly say that his wife introduced something to him or taught him to do something and you would think that he was probably just reminiscing. But now you just feltâŚsensitive. It just felt like you still had to compete even if there was no one to compete with.
âHeâs probably just suggesting.â Satoru tried to explain for Toji, something you didnât think would ever happen because theyâre almost always wordless around one another. âSuggesting what? That I should do what his first wife did? And today he got upset that Yui and I would leave early to go with you.â Satoru sighed, nodding slowly.
Ever since that night, heâs been a lot more calm, more patient, and more careful with everything he does. âWe shouldâve canceled and moved it another day.â You looked at him, disbelief flashing on your face.
âY/N, heâs your boyfriend now. Itâs not good to leave a fight without talking first, even just for reassurance.â Whatever heâs been learning at counseling is definitely working, you thought. When he first told you about it, you didn't know how to react. Probably because you know that the cause of your problems is not just him. But also his mother.
âI told him weâll talk later. He just doesnât like that we have to spend time around each other like this.â Your voice was quieter. To be honest, you donât know how to deal with that because it concerns your daughter too. âWe canâŚwe can just reduce times like this to milestones like birthdays and school events when sheâs finally in school,â Satoru spoke, clearing his throat.
âI donât think itâs that important anyway, Yui will understand that weâre separated soon. Sheâs growing fast.â You glanced at your daughter as she waves at the passing cars. Satoruâs right. âYeah, Iâll justâŚIâll talk to him about it.â Satoru probably doesnât want it like that, but nowadays, heâs beenâŚdifferent. In a good way.
âBy the way, I have aâŚmy previous car. Do you remember? The one before this.â He asked, âYour car always breaks down. I meanâŚYou can have it. So, you wonât have to take a cab when you take Yui to daycare, go to work, or pick her up from my place.â You can tell that he was nervous to ask you about it.
âActually, if you want. I can ask Toji, so he wonât think of it as anything.â You looked away, thinking. Youâre not the only one who has a significant other here; Naomi might think of it as something too. âYou have to tell Naomi too.â You glanced at him through the rearview mirror. âYeahâŚâ He cleared his throat.Â
Silence enveloped the three of you for several minutes until Satoru spoke again. âMy counselor said itâs easy to mistake comfort for love.â Taking a deep breath, you chose your words carefully. âYou can learn to love people and things.â There was a long pause along as you reached his house. You checked on Yui to find out that she fell asleep.
âThat sounds like resignation, Y/N. Love doesnât need conditions.â He mumbled, looking at his lap. âLetâs go, sheâs getting uncomfortable.â You took Yuiâs things before following him inside his house. âDonât forget her vitamins, Satoru.â Humming, he opened the door for you with your sleeping daughter in his arms.Â
To his surprise, the lights were on and there, his mother and Naomi sat on his couch.
âYou took so long. Did you forget about your girlfriend?â His mother was the first to speak. âWhy are you here, Mom? Youâre early, Naomi.â Naomi glanced at you with a look on her face that you canât quite read. Thereâs nothing sinister about it, in fact, she looked nervous.
âSheâs early because she wonât be working full days anymore.â You stood there awkwardly, feeling invisible before Satoru took a step closer to you, âSince sheâll be a part of the family soon, I asked your father if he can take it easy on her workload. Lovers should spend time with each other as much as they can.â His mother continues, emphasizing the word âfamilyâ as she gave a mocking glance your way.
She never once considered you as one. Not that you want to be related in any way to someone like her. You scoffed inside your head, seeing Satoru glance at you. âWe do spend enough time together.â He spoke, âAnd why are you deciding for her, Mom?â He took the bags in your hand, âLetâs go to Yui's room.âÂ
âItâs okay, I wonât be staying for long anyway, I just wanted to drop her off.â After taking Yui to an inflatable indoor park, Satoru bought her a Hello Kitty cake just as you were about to go home. The kid was excited to open the cake with you, but you were reluctant because you donât really want to be around Naomi. After being assured by Satoru that Naomi wasnât supposed to come over until Friday, you finally agreed.
You shouldâve trusted your gut, because here she is with Satoruâs mom, like a cherry on top.
âIâll take you home, letâs just put her to bed, then weâll go.â The child stirred in her sleep, adjusting her head on his shoulder, âMama, cake.â She murmured, probably dreaming about her food. You looked at Satoru, catching him already staring at you and something tells you itâs gonna be alright even with these two people who seemingly want you out of your own daughterâs life.
âWeâll talk later,â Satoru spoke to them, gently nudging you toward your daughterâs room. âThereâs literally nothing to talk about, son. We just wanted to make the two of you more free for each other. Canât have others hogging all of your attention from your lover. She wonât appreciate that. Isnât that right, Y/N?â You paused, glancing at Satoru.
âWith your new boyfriend, doesnât it irritate you when he uses his time for other things?â You can tell that his mother is trying to elicit a reaction from you. âThe only thing my boyfriend does other than work is take care of his son. And I will never put myself in between them.â Before his mother could even say anything, Satoru quickly took the stage.
âI said later, Mom. Naomi and I will talk. Itâs our relationship.â With that, he walked with you into Yuiâs room, closing the door behind him, careful not to wake his daughter up. âIâm really sorry. I didnât think theyâd be here.â You took Yuiâs shoes and jacket off, before letting Satoru put her down. âI know, itâs okay.â Kissing Yuiâs forehead, you could hear him whisper curse words.
âHey.â You can tell heâs more than upset. This is probably more painful and exhausting to him than you thought. âI donât know anymore, Y/N.â He turned away from you, running his hand over his face, âThis. This is whatâs making my life harder.â He gestured towards the door, referring to his mother. âThis is what made our life harder.â You caught him saying as he shook his head.
âJust talk to them. Maybe there's a reason for this. Sheâs just naturally hostile with me.â You shrugged, knowing that he was speaking the truth. âThatâs the point. Sheâs pointlessly hostile and she thinks she can decide for me.â Turning to you, there was redness in his eyes.Â
Satoru didnât want to seem like he was asking you for comfort. He refused to give you that before, heâd be shameless if he wanted you to hold him. âLetâs go. Iâll explain to Yui, weâll call you later.â Blinking hard before opening the door, Satoru knows better than to allow his mother near you. You never told him but he knows that she slapped you when she came to your house.
They fought about it when he went to their mansion. Thankfully, his father backed him up with a speech about protective orders which shut her down. It pained him to be like that to his mom but he canât just have her abusing you just because she can.Â
Satoru walked beside you, covering you from his mother. âSatoruâŚâ Naomi called out but his mother quickly spoke, âDoesnât she have a car? Did it break down again? Ah, like before, when she wanted someone to take her home.â There was no hint of amusement in Naomiâs eyes, probably clueless as to what she was talking about.Â
âIâm calling Dad to pick you up.â With that, he continued walking, leaving his mother with an angry look on her face. âThatâd be good. He will be here to discuss things since heâs her boss. He might even give her a vacation. You and Naomi can go out of the country. Get close, plan things like marriage, childrenââ Stopping in his tracks, Satoru turned with his jaws clenched.Â
âYou know what? Maybe I shouldnât leave my daughter here. After all, you threatened to take her away.â Walking back to Yuiâs room, Satoru didnât think twice as he grabbed your hand, making Naomi tense up. âCan she stay with you tonight? Iâll get her tomorrow.â He murmured, breathing hard as he picked his daughter up again.
âYou think Iâll kidnap my own granddaughter, look what sheâs making you think.â You can hear his mom as you rush to take Yuiâs things. Whining, Yui covered her ears as Satoru walked her out of the room with you beside him. âI donât need to kidnap Yui to get her away, her own mother isnât even capable, what makes you thinkââ Satoru cut her off when he stood in front of her.
âIâm filing a restraining order.â He spoke, voice low as he tried to stay respectful despite what he was saying, âAgainst you.â His motherâs eyes widened in surprise, âCome on.â Ushering you out, and leaving his mother stunned. Opening the door for you, he then proceeded to fix his daughter in her car seat.
âMama why?â You shushed her, caressing her hair, âWeâll eat cake at home.â You smiled at her, trying your best not to sound panicked before closing the door to finally get in the car. Satoru was about to get in the driverâs seat but Naomi came out of the house and ran to him. Glancing at you, she held his hand, âWeâll talk about it later.â He told her, checking if his mother followed.Â
âCanât you justâŚâ Naomi was about to say something but held back, grabbed his collar, pulling him down to kiss his lips. You almost immediately looked away, seeing from your peripheral vision how she put Satoruâs arms around her waist. âCome home quick.â She whispered not so quietly at him. Getting in the car, you wondered if his mom told her about it.
âNaomiâŚâ Satoru sighed, pulling away before looking at you with a concerned look in his eyes as he nodded away at her words. Leaving her, Satoru entered the car and started it. She stood there with a mixed look on her face that screams how irritated and upset she is with the events.Â
âYou donât have to file a restraining order against her. Sheâs still your mother.â You didnât have to say that but you felt like youâre the reason why thereâs a gap between them now. âSheâs not good for Yui. I canât have her around speaking about you like that in front of her.â He was breathing hard. âCan you calm down? Youâre driving.âÂ
âSorry.â He muttered, before taking a deep breath. âI hope she wonât be there when I come back. I can deal with it on my own, whatever Naomi and I have to talk about.â He ranted, âI wish she didnât intervene so much in everything I do. I feel like the decisions I made arenât even mine.â He rarely talked like this back then. Actually, you rarely interacted like this back then.
âHowâsâŚâ Hesitating, he swallowed before continuing his question, âHowâs Tojiâs family to you?â He asked softly as if the information heâll get can break him even more. It probably would. âHeâs not that close to them, so they donât really know much about us. Iâve met them twice when we picked up Megumi. They treat us kindly.â You glanced at him, seeing him purse his lips.
âThatâs good for you. You wonât have to deal with something like this.â Satoru wanted to say that heâll cut ties with his mother to protect you; to be with you. But knowing you, youâll probably feel like itâs your fault and he doesnât want that.
Heâs aware that his mother influenced the decisions he made in the past. Talking to someone about it made him realize how wrong he approached things with you and how easily he let himself be swayed by the instant gratification that he felt when he gave up on your relationship.Â
None of it was worth it.Â
â--------------------------------------------------
Three Days Ago
âI canât do that,â Naomi spoke as she tried to lean away from Satoruâs mom. They met at a cafe near her neighborhood. She was supposed to ask for advice, but it quickly turned into plotting how to lock Satoru to her. âListen, Y/N was able to keep Satoru with her because they have a child together.â She tapped a sharp nail on the table.
Naomi would be lying if she said that she didnât think about using that to get more of his time. She admit that she thought of a way to make him have a kid with her, even trying to lie about her safe day to make him do it inside her. She didnât think that hearing it come from someone else can sound so sick and twisted.
If Satoru doesnât want the kid, whatâs going to happen to me; to us?
âWhy are you worried? Iâve been in the same situation and Iâm telling you, Satoru kept his father for me.â Naomiâs eyebrows bumped together as she thought of how easy it was for her to say something like that. âYou did that to his father?â She asked in disbelief, wanting nothing but to go but desperate enough to stay.
âNot intentionally. But had I not told him, his ex-wife wouldnât have left us alone and he wouldnât have stopped running after her.â She took a sip of her coffee, making her seem so chill with her story. Naomi knows all of it for Satoru once told her. She just thought that his mother really baby-trapped his dad to make him stay.
Can Naomi really do that?
âYou wonât baby trap my son, you just let him come to you. Attract him like you did back then.â She nodded at Naomi. âI just wanted to help him, then. I didnât try to seduce him.â She defended herself, âBut you did drink with him a few times? Tell me you didnât get seductive with him during those nights.â She dared, and Naomi looked down.
She remembers telling him how she liked his eyes and how he was too hot to bury himself in problems. She also remembers nonchalantly telling him how he caught her eye when she first saw him. She knows that she liked to think of him and Yui as her own little family even before they started dating and she remembers promising him that they can make it work.
Was Naomi really being just a friend to him then? Or was she already falling for him when she tried to become what he needs during those times?
âY/N was confident that sheâll get Satoru back and thatâs why she let her guard down. Now, if you want to be her so much then, be happy-go-lucky and watch him dump you.â She shook her head, and the words easily got Naomi thinking twice. Sheâs not trying to be like you. Sheâs better than you.Â
Sheâs better for him than you.
âWhy do you hate her so much?â Naomi suddenly asked, thinking out loud as she carefully thought about her decision. I mean, she didnât really do anything to me.â If sheâs going to think about it, other than the misunderstandingsâ which were probably caused by something offensive she did or saidâyouâre never antagonistic towards her.
âShe ruined my sonâs life. I shouldnât have expected anything knowing how she got him, but she even had the nerve to try and make him do all the work. Sheâs probably just after the money..â No matter how hard she tried to recall, Naomi canât remember him sighing over having Yui with you. âAnd you think she didnât really do anything to you? Youâre a bit naive.â Naomiâs forehead puckered at her statement.
âDidnât you notice how she got a new man only now when it started looking like Satoruâs sure about you?â His mother might just be overthinking things but it didnât help that the changes in her and Satoruâs relationship were almost perfectly timed with you getting a boyfriend. But what if itâs just Satoru? It couldâve been a coincidence, right?
Realizing how she was trying to convince herself in her mind, Naomi only felt worse. Maybe she really has to do something. After all, she swore to him that they can make it work. Sheâs not someone to just back down and give up on the one she loves when things get tough.
Sheâs better than you, and unlike you, she wonât run away; sheâll fight for their relationship.Â
â------------------------------------------
Arriving home, Yui was already wide awake. â...then, Dad will be back to buy a new cake with Yui! Howâs that?â Satoru kissed her cheek as he put her down on the couch. The little girl got upset that her dad has to go so soon. She just stood there wordlessly, leaning on the couch as she refused to look at Satoru.
âItâs okay, Iâll talk to her. Sheâs just grumpy because her nap was disturbed.â Walking towards the little girl, you sat down and put her on your lap. âSay bye, now.â You pushed the stray hairs away from her face and Satoru canât help but admire how much he missed just seeing the two of you waiting for him on his couch.
Yui was younger then; much smaller in your arms. And he felt like a real husband coming home to his wife and child when youâd be there, watching TV when he got home from work. Itâs been more than a year now, he just thinks heâs lucky enough to still be close to you again.Â
Youâre not as close as he wants you to be but this is more than enough for a beggar like him.
Leaning down to give your daughter a kiss, she turned away from him. âYui, thatâs not nice.â Her mouth was quivering but you know her too well. âYou better go, theyâre waiting for you there.â You looked at him but he only stared at you, sighing deeply. You felt like it was the hundredth time today.Â
He looked so worn out; like he was just ready to drop as soon as he gets these things out of his tail. You wondered if you looked like this to him back then, too. Probably not this bad because you donât have a meddlesome mother who keeps trying to put her finger in the pie.Â
Before Satoru could answer, a knock on the door was heard. The door opened and a little boy holding his sippy cup stood by the doorway. Toji held the doorknob, staring at you and Satoru. What time is it? You thought. You remembered telling him that youâd be back by 4 in the afternoon. Yui was quick to jump from your lap.
âDada! âGumi! Dada! âGumi!â She squealed at them and you could feel Satoru tense up beside you. She had been told by Toji about it, but hearing it from her friend isnât helping at all. Megumi looked up at Satoru before looking at Yui. âHey, hey, hey. Whatâs my name?â Toji bent down to pick her up when she kept stomping her feet and reaching up at him.
âDada!â She laughed, before pointing at Megumi who was now taking his little bag from his fatherâs hand. âYouâll play later. Listen, tell your Dada what my name is.â Toji repeated just as Satoru regained his composure. âItâs alright,â He chuckled, âShe probably thought youâre her Dada because you take care of her. And her mom.â You wanted to stop him, feeling bad that he had to pretend that he's cool about this.
Yuiâs first word was âDadaâ and you could still remember how happy he was when he got her to say it before âMamaâ. You canât stand the thought of that memory becoming painful for him. âI gotta go, Iâll just pick her up again tomorrow.â He whispered to you, before nodding to Toji. âBye, love. See you, tomorrow.â He waved at Yui, faking a smile before rushing to leave.
Yui waved back at him before wiggling out of Tojiâs arms. She rushed to get her toys when he put her down. âSheâsâŚsheâs a kidâ Biting your lip, you breathed out through your nose before walking to Toji and putting your arms around him. âDonât run.â He called out to the children as giggled their way to Yuiâs room. âI feel bad. Iâm gonna talk to him later.â You mumbled.
Toji kissed your forehead before you pulled him to your room. âWhatâs going on?â He asked you, sitting on the bed. âAre you worried?â You asked, straddling him. âI am.â He answered, ignoring your actions. You looked up at him with a frown, remembering the misunderstanding that you had. âWhy was he here?âÂ
âLook, he just had to drop me and Yui off because his mother was in his houseââ He cut you off, leaning away a bit from you. You know that you didnât tell him that you were going to Satoruâs house with Yui because you were still upset about your argument the other day and earlier this morning.Â
âYou told me the time but you canât tell me where you were going?â Perplexity was clear on his face, âI didnât want to agitate you further. I wouldnât tell you right now if thereâs another reason why Iâm there except for Yui.â You tried to explain, feeling him put you beside him on the bed. âY/N, thatâs not the point.â He sighed, closing his eyes.
âThen, what is? I wasnât planning to stay for long.â You kicked off your shoes, before turning to him. âLook, Iâm sorry, ok? I just thought you were mad because of earlier.â You hugged his arm, putting your forehead on his shoulder. âAnd I was still upset.â Kicking his own shoes off, Toji pulled you on top of him as he leaned back on the headboard
âYou have to tell me why youâre upset. It canât be just the orange juice.â He spoke, grabbing your face as he kissed you. You moaned, breathing into him as you opened your mouth, letting his tongue find yours. His grunts sent vibrations to your core as you press yourself against him.Â
âDid you lock the door?â He murmured, taking off your cardigan before putting his hands on your buttocks. âYeah, donât worry.â You quickly took off your shirt before going back to kissing him, completely forgetting about what he was asking from you.Â
âAs long as we can hear the laughs, theyâre fine.â He chuckled, unclasping your bra before taking a nipple in his mouth. âOhâŚâ You moaned rubbing on his shoulders and tugging at the fabric of his sweater. His other fingers tweaked at your bud as he stared up at you, lustful eyes taking away your worries.
You really just donât want to tell him that the mention of his wife is starting to trigger you.
Taking off the clothing, he flipped you on your back, removing your belt and jeans. His lips trailed kisses on your thighs as he go, massaging your calves before parting your legs, making you inhale sharply. âWe canât drag this long. Come here.â You giggled, ushering him to hover over you. âYou know how they areâŚâ You moaned when he started to kiss your neck.
His tongue and teeth bring pleasure and a bit of sting on your skin. âYou just want it that much.â Winking at you, he discarded his remaining clothes before hovering over your womanhood. He smirked as he slid your underwear down, kissing your pearl. âTojiâŚâ You whined, worried that this might get cut short if he doesnât hurry.
âAlright, alright. I canât just stick in. Letâs seeâŚâ Spreading your lips with two fingers, he eyed your heat with furrowed brows and his mouth slightly ajar, you canât help but rock your hips against his hand, desperate for friction. Your eyes shut close when he put a finger in, slowly at first, before speeding up when he added a second one.
Toji panted, stroking his member when he felt you squeeze his digits. Youâre dripping and heâs starting to ache. âFuck.â He muttered as he leaned over to go for your lips, kissing you hard. He growled in your mouth when you whimpered as he rubbed on your pearl while massaging the sensitive spot inside you.
Pulling away when your legs started to tremble, Toji hissed as he tapped his head on the bundle of nerves before rubbing his length on your wet folds to lube himself up. âToji, please.â You cupped your mounds, looking up at him. Seeing you like this drove him crazy, he had to hold back from just slamming himself into you.Â
Grabbing a pillow and putting it under your hips, Toji prodded your entrance with his tip. He opened your legs wider, taking in the sight of you being stretched and his shaft disappearing slowly until he was fully in. Leaning on the bed with one hand, he grabbed your jaw with the other and silenced your moans with his kisses.
âYou canât let them hear you.â He murmured as he clenches his jaw, pressing his nose on your cheeks and kissing it. He was moving steadily inside of you and whispering words of praises to your ear, âYou take me so well now.â He teased you, groaning whenever your hole fluttered around him.
You gasped when Toji pushes your legs to your chest, pounding deeper into you as he sings your name like you do to his. His thrusts were unrelenting, merciless as he slams himself into you. Soon enough, your walls were starting to convulse and your nails were clawing on his arm.Â
âCome on. Let it go, hon.â You closed your eyes, feeling your chest throb at the nickname he used but the surges of pleasure that took over your senses flooded it out. Your hand covered your mouth, eyes rolling back as you writhed underneath him, coming undone with a cry of delight escaping your lips.
Your thighs trembled under his touch as he continued to rut into you, desperate for his high. âOh fuckâŚOh, Y/N.â Feeling your walls spasm and contract around him, he hurriedly pulled out and spilled his load on your womanhood. A sight to see, he thought as he watched your thighs still shaking from the pleasure.
âWait a minute," Reaching over to your cabinet, Toji took the box of tissues before wiping you and himself clean. Hearing the jolly screams from the other room made you both laugh to yourself. "That's too quick. We gotta continue this later." He winked, throwing the tissues away before getting on the bed with you.
"Definitely." You let out a tired laugh as you put your head on his shoulder, sighing as the heavy feeling settled on top of your chest. Why did you have to remember him just from that word alone? Toji tilted your head up for a passionate kiss, blurring away the image of your ex inside your head.
âI have a request, though.â You looked down, avoiding his curious gaze. âCan youâŚ.can we not use âhonâ?â You donât know how weirdly you phrased the question until you looked at Toji to see him looking puzzled. âI meanâŚthis is the first time you called me that and Iâm, uh, not really comfortable with that. â
âYeah, alright. But why?â Maybe you shouldâve thought this through. You know Tojiâs been getting moody whenever you two talk about anything concerning Satoru. You canât really blame him after what happened that night. âI just⌠donât feel it.â You lied, shrugging. âItâs not that bad, though. I could get used to it.â You smiled up at him, pecking his lips.
âAlright, I think I know.â He exhaled harshly, standing up from the bed to grab your clothes. Great. You just ruined the moment. âAre you mad?â You sat up, watching him get dressed. âNo, I just wanna check on the kids.â He is mad. You clicked your tongue, sitting on the edge of the bed. âBabe, I just donât want toââÂ
âY/N. I said alright. I canât do anything about it, anyway.â That doesnât fix anything. âA lot of people use that, I just donât get why you keep getting affected.â You stared at him, baffled. âItâs not like I want to do that. I canât help my mind, there was a memory attached to that word.âÂ
You stood up to get a robe, âYou know that itâs not easy for me, too. I told you.â You uttered, watching his back through your vanity mirror as he stood still. âMaybe if you stop relating everything to him, then it wonât be so hard.â With that, he left the room and you donât know if youâre hurt or just shocked that he would say something like that to you.
Because he does that to you too. And you thought that he, of all people, should understand where youâre coming from.Â
âââââââââââââ-
Satoru slid the door open with force, seeing Naomi flinch as she was startled by the sound. âWhereâs mom?â He asked, breathing hard and eager to just put an end to the craziness she was doing. âI convinced her that weâll be fine.â She walked to him, smiling as she put her arms around his neck.Â
âWe just need to catch up on each other, I feel like weâve been too occupied these days.â She buried her face in the crook of his neck, kissing the skin as she rubbed his nape with a soft, delicate hand. âYeah, we got a lot to talk about.â Satoru put a hand on the small of her back. âBut first, you gotta tell me what that was about.â
âI just invited her over. I didnât know Y/N would be here, sorry.â She sighed, before dragging him to the couch. Satoru kept thinking about the scene before he left your house. That was just a lot to take in, especially when he just fought with his mother. âI got no work tomorrow, we can stay up all night.â She giggled, taking off her cardigan.
âLetâs have a couple of drinks during dinner. Iâll cook for you.â She proposed, walking to the kitchen. Checking his phone, he found himself expecting a text from you. None. You donât give a fuck about him. He sighed, Itâs okay. As long as I can see themi, he thought. He just hoped that youâd ask how things went in his house. Or if heâs hurt about âDadaâ Toji. All the things he shouldnât expect.
Guess, Iâll fucking die of jealousy, then. He clenched his teeth proceeding to his bedroom. âIâll wash up.â He spoke to Naomi, âGo on, baby. Iâll be making dinner.â She answered, glancing his way. If sheâs going to be honest, she wanted to skip the talks. The truth is Naomiâs afraid of what heâll say if she confronts him with her real thoughts.
She could easily skip those steps, and get to her goal.
Goal? Naomiâs movements halt as she realized how she sounded. Sheâs not a bad person, she thought. Is she really gonna do this? âIf you want to be her so much then, be happy-go-lucky and watch him dump you.â Naomiâs breath hitched when his motherâs words reverberated in her head.
She canât lose him. Not now when theyâre almost settling down. Sheâs not being a monster, sheâs not baiting him. Heâll come to her on his own like he did before. Sheâs just going to make him see that sheâs good for him.Â
Dinner time came and she prepared it more than ordinary, hoping to ignite a light in him. Itâs not usual for a woman to start something like this but Naomiâs different. As she said, sheâll fight for him. âWow, is this a date?â Satoru chuckled sitting down in front of her seat. âI just wanted to rekindle. Your momâs right, weâre just drifting away. I canât stand that happening.â
Walking to her chair, Naomi stopped by him and kissed his cheek. Satoru on the other hand, canât help but feel bad. Heâs sure that nothing will change even if they do this. âTry. Sheâs a good person.â He quickly downed a drink, letting it take your voice away. Not because he doesnât want to listen to you, but because heâs not sure if he can do it.Â
The dinner went by quickly, and they were just discussing over drinks. He canât even count how many he downed when she started talking about how you look more plump. âThey might beat us in giving Yui a sibling.â She joked, laughing because she didnât know what was in his head. âI doubt it, she wanna get married first.â He replied monotonously before opening up about his counseling sessions.
âCounselling?â She asked. The topic is incredibly close to what Satoruâs about to confess. She stared at her wide eyes as he nodded. âWere you having problems? Baby, why didnât you tell me? I couldâve helped you.â Her concern was sincere and it made him feel like a villain. âI wanted to be better for Yui.â And for Y/N.Â
Clueless, she gave him a fond stare. âYouâre a great father. Y/N knows that.â There were times during the dinner when Satoru was so close to spitting out the truth to her but the effort she put in just to make that food on the table makes him feel remorseful.Â
Satoru knows that itâs not right. But just for tonight, after all the months that he made him feel tranquil, he can spare her heart for a night or two. He didnât want to hurt her, he didnât want to break her heart. But staying would only mean that sheâs never going to get what she wants and deserves.
âIâll be brushing my teeth then, get to bed. The drink got to me.â He laughed, holding the chair as he stood up. âThank you so much. For everything.â She came to hug him, kissing his lips as she murmured words of adoration to him. âGo ahead, youâre all red, can you walk?â She joked, before pushing him to go, âIâll be with you in a few. I feel really sleepy now, too.âÂ
Itâs been almost half an hour. Naomi checked on Satoru to find him sleeping soundly already. Not even her slam of the door woke him up. She stared at herself in the mirror, âIâm really gonna do this.â She exhaled, closing her eyes before going walking out of the bathroom. Heâs still in the same position as before.Â
Stepping closer, Naomi removed her silk robe, revealing her night dress. She clenched her fist tightly, before quickly releasing it just to try and get rid of the tension in her body. She sat on the bed, touching his chest and abs. Hearing him moan when she got to his lower part calmed her slightly. Just like we always do, she repeated in her head, kissing his skin.
âIâm sorry, SatoruâŚâ She whispered one last time.

I would like to share a few head canons for Gale Dekarios being in love with tav/you. If you liked this one and have a request for another character let me know. These ones have just been percolating for a bit.
In Battle
He tries very hard to stay near you. He doesnât like it when you go off on your own. He knows he doesnât quite have the strength of Karlach or the sure footedness of Astarion, but heâs not just going to let you fight everyone on your own.
Sometimes he gets a little hurt that you always put yourself in harms way/take so much of the damage on the battlefield. Donât you know that losing you would destroy him?
You have never witnessed it, but according to the other party members he goes feral if youâre knocked unconscious.
When you wake up itâs always with your head cradled in his lap as shadowheart works on the worst of the wounds.
He does this thing with his magic where he makes his hands really cold. It feels nice on your feverish skin as he gently smooths your hair away from your face, you donât know why you feel so nauseous and sweaty after you black out but this little gesture helps you come back smoothly.
He has a hard time sleeping after a rough encounter. He keeps waking up and making sure youâre still breathing. In the end he gives up on sleeping and just reads by the fire, calming his nerves to the sound of your steady, stable breathing.
In Camp
He is hilariously fussy about what you eat.
âNo, you ABSOLUTELY CANNOT subsist off of a loaf of bread, three olives and a bottle of wine. We are no longer young scholars barely SCRAPING byââ
Very resourceful when it comes to what you can scrape together out of barrels around camp. You were very skeptical when you watched him putting a variety of different bones into a cauldron as you left him back in camp one day. But you came back to a rich stew full of potatoes, some wild rice and even some cut up apple in the mix.
He likes it when you play with his hair. But he has to very pointedly avoid it if heâs in the middle of reading up on something.
âDarling, are you certain youâre not practiced in the arcane arts? I do think youâve got some magic in those fingertips of yours, at the very least, with how quickly they can put me to sleep.â
When Youâre Alone
Itâs simple. He worships you. Perhaps itâs because his last lover was a goddess but it seems to come easy for him; the reverent words, the gentle touches, the utter devotion. Sometimes you catch him just⌠looking at you. His eyes softly hooded, a relaxed curve to his lips. Itâs your favorite to ask whatâs on his mind when he looks at you like that.
âHm? Oh, nothing much. Iâve just been observing. Did you know you purse your lips when youâre reading something that you disagree with? Yesâhahâjust like that.â
He loves to read WITH you. Especially loves to show you some of his favorite tomes. Heâll get you all nestled up against him and hold the book down in front of you. He reads much faster than you, so he busies himself kissing behind your ear or playing with your hair until you turn the page.
Gods does he love it when you ask him questions about something to do with magic. He loves watching the glint in your eye when heâs helped you understand something.
You love it when you get him rolling on a topic of theory that you know he doesnât get to talk about much. Sometimes he loses you when he gets into the minutiae, but heâs so damn cute when heâs ranting about the wonder in the world.
In Intimate Moments
(Potential NSFW below.)
Of course it is not a surprise that heâs a generous lover. What is a surprise is how demanding he can be when he feels like it. He knows you are no stranger to a challenge and he loves to make things more exciting by presenting you with one.
âOf course Iâm aware of our companions in camp. But itâs not as if we can afford ourselves more privacy. Youâre just going to have to quiet those lovely little sounds you make while I touch you⌠letâs see⌠it was here wasnât it? Ah, ah⌠shhhh, my love. Those pointy ears of Astarionâs might pick even that tiny sound.â
Gods does he know how to string words together to leave you completely undone.
Sometimes foreplay is mostly talk. He can get you going without even touching you.
âMy love, Iâve not been able to stop thinking of the ways I want to touch you all day. Shall I tell you whatâs been on my mind?â
His breath tickles against your ear as his hands smooth over your clothed body, telling you how he wants to take you. Itâs all the more flustering when you know he always keeps his word.
Love making always starts with a kiss, deep and slow.
You feel him smile into the kiss when he slips his fingers into the front of your trousers and he feels just how aroused heâs made you.
âYou are exquisite. A delicacy of the highest quality. Do you know that?â
Heâs not one to bang it out for a quickie. He doesnât like to feel like heâs stealing his time with you, or like heâs a young man again and hastily getting whatever he can before heading back to the dormitories. Every touch, every word, every thrust is slow and deliberate. He wants to relish the feeling of it all. He wants to soak you in.
Somehow, he always smells good. Like cinnamon and tea and⌠some earthen, herbaceous scent you cant place.
So many cuddles after youâre done.

legit gonna tear up at work because ...
#another annoying bf post from yue... but this one is different y'all#we were talking the other day and the topic of 'how we got together' came up#and i know that some of you guys were there for the entire journey (tysm)#so essentially i told him that i was super close to just ending it out of the fear of getting hurt#like i knew that i liked him alot and the fact that he was also seeing someone else was almost too much to bear.#it ate me alive. i remember driving to dance practice listening to sad music and when i parked my car i just sat there.#thinking and brooding and contemplating on ending it with him.#the more dates that i went on i realized that i wanted him and that if he didn't choose me the heartbreak would be the worst. i would need#an immeasurable amount of time to move on. and it would suck. but luckily i took the risk and it worked out :')#because i literally asked him 'who are you still talking to' after he told me that he deleted hinge lmao#and he said that he's so glad that i didn't go through with cutting it off.#plus i told him that when the other girl said 'i'm not ready for a relationship' to him i was like FUCK YES LET ME TAKE HIM OFF YOUR HANDS#HONESTLY. if i ever meet this other girl i'm buying her a coffee and making her cookies istg because she did me a service#a service that makes me the happiest that i've been in a long time attached with a bf that makes me feel seen and safe and comfortable.#and then. he just started to spill everything. he was like. i should've chosen you earlier. i should've been exclusive with you earlier.#he said that he regretted even entertaining the idea of going out with the other girl#and then i asked him if i really had anything to worry about and he was like yeah. you did have something to worry about#(lol i love being right)#he literally said that there were times at the beginning where he was swaying towards the other girl instead of me#and how he realizes now that he was so stupid for it. he said that he couldn't believe that the thought ever crossed his mind#to him we were easy and talking to me was fun and all of our dates were great and memorable so the fact that he ever swayed towards the#other girl was a source of guilt for him. he said that he felt guilty for making me wait when i already knew that i wanted him#it's been eating him up and he admitted the sweetest fucking thing.#he said that the idea of not having me there. of not having me in his life. heartbreak doesn't even begin to describe how shitty it would be#like a 'knife in his gut' he said.#and he was like 'the idea is so fucking awful that i'm tearing up just thinking about it' :'(#just the fact that he could've lost me before it even started... it was the possibility of that happening that got him all shaken up#and i could hear his voice breaking up over the phone as he said all those things#then he said 'i just want you to know that i'm fully committed to you.'#and i said that i know that he's committed to me. and that the past doesn't matter anymore because he chose me and we are together now.

Hey it turns out you are lucky after all.
You and 6 other friends decided to rent a house (more of a mansion) for a couple of days. While you always go on vacations with them this time all 6 came by. As always Haewon drove the car while Lily sat in the front, Kyujin, Jiwoo and You sat beside each other and Bae and Sullyoon sat beside each other too.
At first going to a house with 6 girls as a guy should be a bad idea, anything could happen after all. Every minute being in the car you thought how bad of an idea this really is, yes you love the girls, yes you would love to go on vacation with them, but at the same time Haewon paid for the house so you really have no right to say no to her.
Arriving at the house you saw how huge it was, 4 floors, a gate around it and a big pool too. All of you quickly got your stuff and entered the house, not wanting to waste any time you started to explore the house. It really looked awesome you were questioning on how Haewon had the money to rent it, you did see that all girls except one stayed in the kitchen.
âWhats up?â Bae asked
âNothingâ You answered
âCoolâŚâ Bae said âHey um, whats going on with you today?â
âIn what way?â You asked
âYou just seem shy.â Bae answered
âWell, im with 6 girls as a guy and in a mansionâ you said âYou know how awkward this is?â
âOh come on, you are going to be so close to all of us at the end of the weekâ Bae said
âWellâŚâ you said while looking towards the first floor. It did make you think, would it even happen?
âKyujin and Jiwoo are the only people you arent close to.â Bae said breaking the silence
âYou too.â You said
âWe are talking right now. I would say we are close!â Bae said
âFair.â You said. Both of you went back to the first floor, seeing that only Sullyoon and Jiwoo are there.
âWheres everyone?â You asked
âHaewon and Lily went to their room and Kyujin isâŚgreat questionâ Jiwoo said
âWe lost the maknae?â Bae said
âIts a huge house i wont even be surprised that you get lostâ Jiwoo teased
âWheres Haewon?â You asked
âHEREâ She shouted from upstairs. You quickly went wherever she is.
âMissed me?â Haewon said as she hugged you
âSort ofâ You teased
âHey, me and Lily arranged the rooms for the rest of youâ Haewon said âKyujin, Sullyoon and Lily are living together, Bae and you are living together and me and Jiwoo live togetherâ
âOh Kyujin is in her room then?â You asked
âYeahâ Haewon answered âYou didnt know?â
âJiwoo didntâ You said
âOh alrightâ Haewon said
Both of you finally met the rest of the girls in the kitchen, you saw how all of them glanced a look at you two.
âWhat?â Haewon asked
âFucked her already?â Bae said, making the girls laugh
âNo.â You said
âWell alright.â Bae said âTook both of you too longâ
â8 minutes is too long?â Haewon asked
âWell i havent fucked him have i?â Bae said
âI also haventâ Haewon said âI literally heard you moan last time we went on vacationâ Lily said
âI-iâŚno. I wasnt moaningâ Haewon tried to deny
âWant a drink?â Jiwoo tried to change the topic
âYeah sureâ Haewon said âand you?â
âOf course.â You said.
Jiwoo went on to make the drink for you and Haewon, while waiting you decided to go the living room where you saw Kyujin and Lily.
âHeyâ Kyujin said
âHeyâ You said
âWe are going to the pool in a bit wanna go with us?â Kyujin asked
âOnly you two?â You asked back
âOf course not.â Kyujin answered
âYeah i will go tooâ You said âIts so hot how can i notâ
âExactly.â Kyujin said. After a while of waiting Jiwoo arrived bringing you and Haewon a drink, seeing how close you and Haewon are the members obviously suspected something is going on.
âAre you both finally official?â Jiwoo asked
âNo?â Haewon said
âReally?â Jiwoo teased
âYes really. You should know that if anything im friends with benefits with himâ Haewon said
âWhatever makes you happy i guessâ Jiwoo said
âHey me and Lily are going to the pool join us if yall wantâ Kyujin said
âOh hell yeah we wantâ Jiwoo said before rushing
âWait for us Jiwoo-â Bae said before rushing after her too
âShould we wake her up?â You asked
âYou can wake her up i will go to the pool alreadyâ Haewon said
âWell alrightâ You said before approaching Sullyoon. Before waking her up you couldnt stop admiring how fine she looked, you didnt understand how a person can be this good looking while sleeping.
âHm?â Sullyoon said
âWe are going to the poolâ You said
âOh okayâ Sullyoon said before getting up, you were ready to go out to the pool but Sullyoon decided to call you
âY/n?â Sullyoon said
âYes?â You said
âI need help with somethingâ Sullyoon said, you kinda knew what this could be about.
âYou sure?â you asked
âJust get in hereâ Sullyoon said
âWell if you say so-â You said before opening the door just ot be met with her half naked
âWhat? you havent seen a naked girl?â Sullyoon teased you âAnyway could you help closing my bikini?â
âUh yeah sureâ you said
âYou legit havent seen naked girl?â Sullyoon asked
âOf course i haveâ You answered
âLike in real life?â Sullyoon asked
âYeah, in real lifeâ You answered
âThen why are you shy?â Sullyoon said âIs it weird to see your crush naked?â
âLets just goâ You said
âSure.â Sullyoon said.
You went out and saw that the girls were already having fun, it took you to close the door about too loudly for them to realize.
âTook you long enoughâ Bae teased
âI just needed help with my bikiniâ Sullyoon said
âOr did he fuck you?â Bae asked
âWhat? No!â Sullyoon said
âHe definitely fucked youâ Bae said
âShut up.â Sullyoon said
âI didnt fuck herâ You jumped in
âSureâ Bae said
âOh y/n can you play some music?â Lily asked
âSureâ you answered before once again going into the house. You didnt really know where the speaker is so instead of finding for it you decided to ask one of the girls to come with you.
âWhere is the music?â Lily asked
âI need someone to come with me to find the speakerâ you said before eyeing Haewon
âI will go.â Haewon said
In truth you could have probably find the speaker by yourself but you wanted to spend time with Haewon.
âHere it is!â Haewon said âYou didnt look here?â
âIm not the one who rented the houseâ You said
âWell thenâ Haewon said âIm not that strong babyâ
âOh i knowâ You said
âThe girls are in their own world, how about we just have some fun?â Haewon asked
âAre you insane?â You asked
âOh dont act like you dont want to fuck meâ Haewon said
âI guess i doâ You said
âThen lets do this quickâ Haewon said before undressing herself.
âOh godâ Haewon moaned out âI-its hugeâ
âAnd you like it. Dont you?â You said before starting to speed up in her. You saw how quickly Haewon went from the cute and teasing girl to the horny girl.
âYou know i DOâ Haewon moaned out as you started to fuck her fast. You really took her Lets do this quick, seriouslyâŚi mean who wouldnt? You have a hot girl, your crush even right below you and fucking her brains out.
You kissed Haewon resulting into a short but godly makeout, while fucking her you felt her pussy walls closing onto your dick. Bringing both of you to a peak and bringing the short fuck to the end.
âCum in my mouthâ Haewon said before you stuck your dick into her mouth, giving her a short but really good oral fuck.
You came in Haewonâs mouth and saw how she swallowed it.
âGod you are such a freakâ You said
âIm your freak~â Haewon said
âWell, how about we bring it down?â You asked to which Haewon nodded. After bringing the speaker down to the first floor and connecting your phone to it you played whatever song you remembered suddenly.
âWell that took longâ Bae said âIs the mansion that huge?â
âYeah we found a completely different room so you know we had to explore!â You said
âFairâ Bae said âTurn it a bit up thoughâ
âY/n turn the music upâ Kyujin said
âUh sureâ You said. After what felt like hours all of you went out of the pool. You saw how dark it was getting and just wanted to sleep but the girls didnt.
âI will go to sleepâ You said
âUh no you wontâ Haewon said
âIts 3amâ You said
â2:36 to be specific.â Haewon corrected you
âCome on Y/n! Dont be so boringâ Bae said
âIm not boring just want to sleepâ You said
âWe have a week.â Lily jumped in
âYeah shes right. We have a whole week here we can stay up all night any day we wantâ Jiwoo said
âWell then lets call it a nightâ Bae said Waking up the next day, you checked your phone and saw that its only 8am, while wanting to sleep still you decided to wake up.
âMorningâ Bae said half awake
âMorning?â you said âawake already?â
âSort ofâ Bae said
âI wanted to go out but now that you are awake i wont!â You said as you sat on her bed
âI didnt know you are clingy?â Bae teased
âI am?â You asked before answering yourself âHow could i not be clingy to a hot girl?â
âOh i-iâŚâ Bae stuttered. You saw that flirting with her was a weakness but you didnt want to make a move yet.
âYou think i didnt see how you looked at me yesterday?â You asked getting closer to Bae
âY/n-â Bae tried to stop you
âHow you tried to not cuddle with me all day?â You asked âGod.â Bae said, you saw that at this point she surrendered she knows what you are doing but she just doesnt understand why you arent making a move
âCan you just kiss me-â Bae said before you did so. The kiss quickly turned into a makeout with you bringing Bae on your lap and bringing your hands under her shirt.
âAre you a fan of sex in the morning?â Bae asked before undressing herself
âSort of.â You answered
âWell you will be after today.â Bae said before undressing you too, freeing your rock hard boner.
âNo wonder Haewon loves youâ Bae said before giving you a blowjob. Her sucking skill were so good that you thought this isnt her first time. Not long after you saw her slowly sticking your dick into her pussy.
âS-shitâ Bae moaned out
âYou are so fucking tight oh wow-â You said
âC-can you NOTâ Bae moaned loudly âShhhâŚyou dont want other to hear do you?â You asked before she nodded âGood. Now how about we start?â
At first you go slow and soft with her, after all she deserves it, but then you start to quickly fuck her to the point you were sure she would lose it all in seconds but she didnt.
âHuh you take a lot more than Haewonâ You said before speeding up, you reach for her arms but not long after you pull out. You look at Bae, at this point you were sure the Bae you knew 10 minutes ago is not the same Bae right now.
âRuin me.â Bae said
âGladly.â You said before sticking your dick in her again. This time you do it hard, not soft. You start to speed up in her but not long before Bae has her own orgasm
âGODâ She moans out, you look at her before you continue fucking her. Enjoying what you see you decided to pull her up to you making contact with each others bodies and start to fuck her faster and faster.
You havent even fucked Haewon this hard let alone to the point she has had her own orgasm, you have no idea how Bae is the type of girl to be this kinky.
Not long after you have your own orgasm cuming in her. You see what a mess you both made but thats not the biggest problem, the biggest problem is you cuming in her.
âOh shitâ You said
âIts fineâ Bae said âIt was good. Thank you.â
âWelcome?â You said
âI am on birth control dont worryâ Bae confronted you
âOh thats goodâ You said before cuddling up to her. Silence sets in as you both realize what you just did, but god you feel proud of this. For some reason you dont feel guilty you feel happy by what you did.
âAre you a fan of cuddling after sex?â Bae asked you breaking the silence
âSort ofâ You said
âYou dont cuddle with Haewon after fucking her?â Bae asked
âUh well, we usually dont have rough sex.â You answered
âOh you like to be soft with her?â Bae asked again
âOf courseâ You answered
âIm guessing you fucked Haewon yesterdayâ Bae said
âWasnt it obviousâ You teased her âYeah i didâ
âCool!â Bae said before getting up but not before laying back down
âHold on wheres my shirtâ Bae said
âUnder the bedâ You said
âOh rightâ Bae said
âShould we go?â You asked
âYeahâ Bae answered
âI will eat and then go take a shower for sureâ You said
âTheres a hot tub by the wayâ Bae said
âWait seriously?â You asked
âYeah you didnt know?â Bae asked back
âNopeâ You answered
Both of you went down and saw that almost everyone was there. You werent surprised at all though as it is around 9am already.
âLong day ahead.â Lily said
âWhat?â You asked
âNothing i just wanted to say something to break the silenceâ Lily said
âOkayâ You said
âGeneric responseâ Lily said
âHey Lily, i think that Jiwoo needs help with the foodâ You said
âYou think so?â Lily asked
âMhmâ You said before Lily got up and went to help her. In truth you just knew that she would continue to tease you.
âThis is the first time i have seen you speak to Lily in englishâ Kyujin said
âOh wellâ You said âYou can speak to me in english too!â
âCan i?â Kyujin asked, you're not that shocked that she knows English as Lily sort of taught her.
âYes you canâ You said
âSee i know how to speak English!â Kyujin said
âYeah cause Lily taught youâ You said
âYou did the most teachingâ Kyujin said
âI knowâ You said
âWowâ Kyujin said
After relaxing in the kitchen for a while, you finally went to take the shower. You were shocked at how nice and huge it looked. At first you thought you are in the wrong room but then you saw the hot tub which Bae was talking about and of course you had to try it out.
You seriously wanted to be in the hot tub just a little longer but you knew that the girls would think you drowned in the bathtub so you finally stepped out, dressed and went downstairs.
âWell that took longâ Jiwoo said
âBae wasn't lying huhâ You said
âAbout what?â Jiwoo asked
âAbout the hot tubâ You answered
âOh yeah the hot tub is awesomeâ Jiwoo said
âYouâre awesome tooâ You said
âW-what?â Jiwoo stuttered
âNothingâ You said before going back upstairs
âCOME BACKâ Jiwoo screamed running after you
âYeah?â You said as she stopped you and pushed you into a completely different room
âIs this the room where you got the speaker?â Jiwoo asked
âYeahâ You answered
âGood.â Jiwoo said before she kissed you. You didnt understand what just happened, you went from playfully flirting with her to now making out with her.
âI want you to fuck me.â Jiwoo said
âAre you sure?â You said
âUh yeah?â Jiwoo said before starting to undress. Not wanting to waste any time you decided to undress yourself too.
âSlowly-â Jiwoo cut herself off with a moan. You wanted to go gentle with the girl but it wasnt long after you started to go faster.
âOH GODâ Jiwoo moaned now louder. You were sure that if someone would go out of their room they would hear it.
It didnt take long at all before she reached her peak already.
âDONT STOP PLEASEâ Jiwoo moaned now even louder
âFor a loud girl you dont take long to cum do you?â You said in her ear before kissing it, Jiwoo didnt know if she was even the person she was before this, but all she knew is that you shouldnt stop.
âJust shut up and FUCK MEâ Jiwoo reached her 2nd orgasm, at this point you didnt know how much more it would take for her to be ruined.
âYou are cute when you think you are in control.â You said while speeding up, while she is almost at 3rd orgasm you arent even at your first.
âYou are so-â Jiwoo said
âSo what?â You teased her
âContinue fucking meâ Jiwoo said, you did so not knowing how much more she could take. You kept hitting her G-spot and bringing her into a new world that she never experienced. At this point you reached your own orgasm as well, not wanting to cum in another girl you decided to quickly pull out.
âGodâŚâ Jiwoo tried to catch her breath
âIt was awesomeâ You said
âI wonder if the others knowâ Jiwoo said
âProbably notâ You said
âI hope soâ Jiwoo said
âWhat time is it?â You asked
âAlmost 11pm, why?â Jiwoo asked back
âNothing just askingâ You said
âWell, i will goâ Jiwoo said
âWe will goâ You corrected her
Overall everything went well, you didnt even understand what happened but you were sure you will need to take another bath later. Going back to your room you hoped that Bae wont ask you anything. âWell that took you longâ Bae said
âI was with Jiwooâ You said
âSee! I told you that you will be closer to all of us at the end!â Bae said
âWhateverâ You said
You completely forgot that you wanted to go shower, you were sitting on your phone when all of a sudden you remembered.
âWhere are you going?â Bae asked
âShower?â You said
âAt 1am?â Bae asked back
âYou can come with me!â You said
âNo thanksâ Bae said âI am not a big fan of sex in the showerâ
âWe wont fuck!â You said
âJust like we didnt fuck in the morning?â Bae teased
âI will goâ You said before going out. While the bathroom for some reason is quite far from your room you had some time to go.
âY/n?â Someone asked
âYes?â You asked before turning around to be met with Kyujin
âAre you going to shower?â Kyujin asked
âYesâ You answered
âIm going with you!â Kyujin said before running in the bathroom, you debated if you should wait or risk it and go.
âCOME INâ Kyujin screamed, at this point you knew you couldnt go anywhere so you decided to give up and go in.
Once you did go you already saw Kyujin in the hot tub, you knew how wrong this is but at the same time you couldnt let this chance go away.
âSo?â Kyujin asked
âHuh?â You asked back
âAre you going to come in with me?â Kyujin asked
ââŚyeah. I will.â You said
âThis shouldnt be weirdâ Shes right. It shouldnt, but it is.
âYou are attractive.â Kyujin said
âThanks.â You said
âUmâŚso look. We are adults.â Kyujin said
âI knowâ You said trying to not look at her at all, however while trying to do that you felt Kyujin coming closer and closer to you
âStop-â You said before she started giving you a handjob
âDont act like you dont want thisâ Kyujin said
âI guess i doâ You said before kissing her, you hated how good this felt but you also didnt want this chance to go away.
âYou knowâŚâ Kyujin said before completely undressing âMy eyes are up here.â âYes.â You said, you hated how she had control over your body right now.
âOh wow-â You said as she started to give you a blowjob âYou sure do know how to suck a dickâ
âPorn does wonders.â Kyujin said. You never thought she would know how to suck a dick but it felt so good.
âOh wowâ Kyujin moaned out as she inserted your dick into her
âGod you are tightâ You said
âShut up-â Kyujin said before you kissed her
âYou know i have seen how you look at meâ You said before thrusting in her
âI-i haventâ Kyujin said
âHow you checked me outâ You said
âNo-â Kyujin said
âHow you got jealous when i talked to Bae and Haewonâ You started to go faster
âFuckâ Kyujin moaned out, you saw how weak she became, how she started to surrender under you
âYou take a lot too dont youâ You said before started to go even faster. You didnt care anymore, all you wanted was to make her cum as soon as possible.
You felt her pussy walls closing in on your dick and you knew how close she was. It didnt take long for her to finally have her orgasm.
âFUCKâ Kyujin moaned out, soon after you also came but quickly pulled out and came in her mouth, to which she swallowed.
âGod.â You said
âPorn. thats how i know.â Kyujin said
Both of you sat in the hot tub which at this point was getting a bit colder, it didnt take long before you decided to go out.
âWellâŚâ Kyujin said
âIt was goodâ You said
âI needed that thanks.â Kyujin said
âWelcome.â You said âYou wont come with me?â
âEh no i will stay here for a bitâ Kyujin said
âWell alright thenâ You said before going out of the bathroom, you couldnt stop thinking about what just happened.
Going back into your room, Bae was already sleeping which you didnt care that much.
Waking up the next day should have been nothing other than just relaxing however Lily had different plans.
âAnything planned today?â Lily asked
âNopeâ You answered
âThats unfortunateâ Lily said as she sat besides you âBecause i do.â
âLily-â You said before she kissed you, it wasnt a soft kiss or anything but a kiss that made you surrender to her.
âShouldnt we take-â She undressed you and herself before you could even finish your sentence
âYou were saying?â Lily asked
âNothingâ You said
âGood.â She said before giving you a handjob
âIs this not your first time?â You asked
âIm not innocentâ Lily said before sucking your dick, it really did feel like heaven at this point she was sucking you off so good that you were surprised.
âFuck-â She said as she put her dick in her pussy
âGod you are tightâ You said
âI-i GODâ Lily said before you started thrusting in her.
âYou are what?â You teased
âNothing-â Lily said, the chance of someone going out right now and catching you both is high but you did you care? nope.
âS-stopâ Lily said as she slowed down, you were scared as any reason would currently be valid.
âBedroom.â Lily said she put her panties back on There wasnt a need for her to repeat, you quickly put back your boxers and rushed to the bedroom.
âLock the doorâ Lily said
âShall we?â You asked as you pointed your dick at her pussy once again.
âOh yesâ Lily responded. You went slow at first but quickly fastened. Your dick hit her G-spot. Every single time it did hit, her eyes rolled back to her brain.
âEnjoy it?â You said while speeding up. You fucked her as if she was the last thing on earth, she bit her lip to hide her moans, but that wasnt enough as you fucked her harder and harder.
âF-fuckâ Lily finally reached her peak, as much as you wanted to stop, you didnt. You were close to your climax as well. âOpen your mouthâ You demanded and she did so. You fucked her mouth, hitting the back of her throat until you came which wasnt long.
You finally came, you pulled out of her mouth and saw her swallow it.
âHoly shitâ was all you could say
âYou fucked my brains out i thinkâŚâ Lily said
âIm proud of it.â You said, while laying down both of you heard a knock
âYes?â You asked
âDinners ready.â Haewon said
âAlrightâ You said
âDress up!â Lily said before going out
âHey wait-â You said. You went downstairs just to be met with Haewon and Jiwoo
âWheres the rest?â You asked
âOut in the poolâ Haewon answered
âOh alrightâ You said
After you ate, you decided to go out but not in the pool.
âWont you come in?â Kyujin asked
âNopeâ You said before sitting on the chair
âWhy not?â Kyujin asked
âI was in the hot tub this morningâ You answered
âI should probably try it outâ Sullyoon said
âYou should, its awesome.â You said
âYou should go with herâ Haewon said
âI have been saying that to Yoona all morningâ Bae said
âShes an adult she can go alone-â You said
âYou went with Kyujin thoughâ Jiwoo said
âThats a different storyâ You said
âNot reallyâ Kyujin said You wanted to prove yourself right but you knew they would continue to tease you, so you just gave up. Hours later you were once again the living room, not really doing anything except scrolling through your phone.
âSoâŚwill you come to the hot tub with me?â Sullyoon asked breaking the silence
âDo you want to?â You asked
âSort ofâ Sullyoon answered
âSure then.â You said before getting up and following her in the bathroom. She quickie undressed as did you.
It shouldnt be that awkward but it wasâŚfor some reason.
âYou have seen me naked alreadyâ Sullyoon said
âYeah i knowâ You said
âHow badly you have wanted to fuck me since then?â Sullyoon asked
âA ton.â You said
âThis is your chance to fuck me thenâ Sullyoon said before giving you a handjob
âMhm.â You said before kissing her, the kiss lasted for a while but she pulled away.
âSit upâ Sullyoon said âI want to suck you offâ
âFor a shy girl- shit.â You said right as she started sucking you off. You would be lying if it didnt feel good
âFor a shy girl you sure are horny-â You said right before your dick hit the back of her throat, and god it felt awesome you really did think you were in heaven.
âI want that dick in meâ Sullyoon said
âSure.â You said before you aimed your dick at her pussy
âShit-â Sullyoon moaned. You wanted to go slow at first but you wanted her to remember tonight for a while.
âWait- oh godâ Sullyoon said
âYou alright?â You asked, in genuine concern âOh i amâ Sullyoon said âFuck me like you mean it-â You did so, you fucked her as fast as you could.
Sullyoon bit her lip hard enough to draw blood, she couldnt hide her moans anymore as you fucked her faster and faster.
Your dick kept hitting her G-spot. You were sure she would lose it all any second but she didnt. Instead she kept on resisting the orgasm.
âIs this the best pussy you have ever fucked?â Sullyoon asked as you continued to abuse her pussy
âYes.â
âBetter than Haewon?â Wanting you to admit that she is the best you will ever get and have in your life
âShit-â You said âFuck yes.â
âThen fucking ruin me.â Sullyoon said before you sped up. She wanted to be ruined and you will gladly accept her offer.
Your gripped her hair, and fucked her as fast as you could. It didnt take long before she finally reached her climax, as did you. Following fast you cam in her.
You slowly pulled out admiring how you destroyed her.
âWell Shitâ was call you could say.
âAdmit that you like me.â Sullyoon said
âI do, but more Haewonâ You said
âYou sure?â Sullyoon asked
âMaybe.â You said
Both of you finally went out, to see everyone in the living room.
âHad fun?â Jiwoo asked
âYes.â Sullyoon answered
They knew. All seven of you knew what happened these past couple days, and for sure none of you will forget it.

Arabella had always lived a quiet life on the Outer Banks. Her family was very close to the Camerons, and family reunions were a tradition. Since they were little, she and Sarah Cameron had become inseparable. They spent summers together, swimming, exploring the small islands around the coast, or just talking. However, Arabella's relationship with the other brother, Rafe, had always been different.
Rafe Cameron was everything Arabella hated: arrogant, conceited, and with an ego that barely fit in the room. Every time they met at a family reunion or event, their exchanges were cold and tense. They didn't openly insult each other, of course, but the looks and sarcastic comments were constant. The truth is that Rafe also saw her the same way: he thought Arabella was a haughty girl who thought the world revolved around her. Despite everything, they both knew how to behave in front of others. It was a tacit agreement, a sort of silent truce to not cause problems in their families.
Parallel to their tensions, both their lives had continued on their course. Arabella had been dating a boy from the Outer Banks, Matthew, for a year. Matthew was the complete opposite of Rafe: charming, humble, and always ready to make her laugh. He was easy to be with, and their relationship gave her the peace of mind she had always sought. For his part, Rafe had met a young woman a few years ago and, in an unexpected turn, was preparing to marry her. The wedding was the most talked about event on the island. Everyone seemed to be excited, from close families to childhood friends.
Arabella, in particular, couldn't help but joke about it with Sarah. Every time the topic of the wedding came up, she and Sarah used to laugh and say that, once Rafe got married, they could get rid of him once and for all. "Can you imagine?" Sarah said with a laugh, "we'll finally not have to put up with his 'I'm better than all of you' attitude." Arabella smirked, knowing that even though they were joking, a part of her actually believed it would be a relief to not have to deal with Rafe on a regular basis anymore. With the wedding approaching, he'd be busy with his new life, and she could enjoy her days in peace.
One afternoon, while helping Sarah pick out a dress for her brother's wedding, Arabella and Sarah sat on the store's couch, surrounded by fabrics and catalogs. Sarah showed her one of the dresses, and Arabella looked at it, nodding in approval. "It's beautiful, Sarah. You're going to be the prettiest bridesmaid I've ever seen."
"And you? Do you know what you're going to wear yet?" Sarah asked curiously, glancing at her friend out of the corner of her eye.
Arabella let out a soft laugh, crossing her legs as she settled into the couch. "I haven't decided yet, but honestly, I don't care that much. The important thing is that you'll look spectacular and that your brother is finally getting married."
Sarah smiled. "Can you imagine what it'll be like? It'll be weird not having him hanging around the house."
Arabella laughed, nodding again. "Exactly. It's like he always has to remind us that he's Rafe Cameron, as if we could ever forget." She paused, leaning forward. âSpeaking of which, how is everything going with him and his fiancĂŠe? Do they have everything ready yet?â
Sarah sighed. âMostly everything. I wonât lie to you, though, there have been tense moments. You know how my brother is. Everything has to be perfect for him, and his fiancĂŠe seems to be the same way. Itâs like two perfectionists have met, which should be a good thing, but⌠sometimes I think theyâre going crazy with the details.â
Arabella nodded, imagining Rafe being picky about every little aspect of the wedding. âI can see that. Heâs probably checking every flower, every napkin, to make sure everything is up to par.â
âExactly,â Sarah said, laughing. âBut, well, itâll be a wedding everyone will remember, for better or worse.â
The days leading up to the wedding were complete chaos. Arabella had anticipated it, but nothing could prepare her for the magnitude of the storm that was brewing. Between last-minute meetings, planning details, and the endless list of tasks Sarah had set out to complete, they were both swept up in a maelstrom of stress. Rafe, of course, was at the center of it all, making sure every aspect of the ceremony and reception was flawless. It was nearly impossible to see him without a worried or annoyed expression on his face, which, to Arabella, was a normal occurrence for him.
Despite everything, Arabella tried to stay out of the way. She reminded herself that this wasn't her wedding, and that no matter how much everything got out of hand, the best thing she could do was stay calm, help Sarah when necessary, and avoid Rafe as much as possible. But things didn't always go as planned. During the days leading up to it, she was forced to cross paths with Rafe more times than she would have liked. Every time she saw him, he was arguing with someone: an organizer, a caterer, or even his own sister.
The wedding day finally arrived, bringing with it a mix of emotions. The Cameron household was bustling early, with servants and family members running back and forth to make sure everything was ready. Arabella had slept there the night before, as part of tradition. Sarah had convinced her that it would be easier to get ready together from the Cameron household. They had both thought they would get ready with the bride, as was customary for close friends and family of the couple. However, that expectation was quickly dashed.
At the last minute, Rafe's fiancĂŠe had decided that she preferred to get ready elsewhere, alongside her mother and some members of her family. Not only that, but neither Arabella nor Sarah had been invited to join them. It was a clear sign of distancing, and although Sarah tried to hide her irritation, Arabella noticed how she clenched her jaw at the news.
Arabella, for her part, considered it disrespectful. Wasn't Sarah Rafe's sister? And hadn't she, Arabella, been by Sarah's side all these years, sharing every important moment in the Camerons' lives? She tried to ignore the small flicker of anger that was beginning to form inside her. There was no point in making a scene over something so trivial. Besides, she had Sarah, and the two of them could turn any awkward situation into something fun. If the bride didn't want them there, then they would enjoy getting ready on their own.
âCan you believe it?â Sarah said, slamming the bedroom door shut as they entered. âHe didnât even tell me directly, can you imagine?â
Arabella, sitting on the edge of the bed, shrugged. âTruth be told, I was expecting it. He doesnât seem like the kind of person who wants to share his day with us. At the end of the day, itâs his wedding, and he can do whatever he wants.â
Sarah let out a sarcastic laugh as she sat down in front of the mirror. âYeah, sure. But Iâm his future sister-in-law. And youâre my best friend. I donât know, he just seems⌠cold.â
âWell, better for us,â Arabella said, getting up to find her dress. âAt least we wonât have to pretend to like his every comment and smile all the time. Weâll get ready together, like always.â
Sarah let out a sigh and looked at herself in the mirror. "You're right. But it still bothers me. Anyway, let her get ready by herself. Today's all about my brother getting married and I honestly want this all to be over with."
Arabella laughed softly, patting him on the shoulder before starting to change. The sun's rays streamed through the curtains, illuminating the room in a warm, golden light. Although they were annoyed by the bride's lack of consideration, there was something almost magical about those moments.
As they both got ready, the silence was filled with soft murmurs and occasional laughter. Sarah tried to comb her hair while talking non-stop about how chaotic everything had been, and Arabella, who had already finished getting dressed, helped her with some details. It seemed like the small frustrations of the day were being left behind.
As Arabella and Sarah got ready in the bedroom, chaos quickly took over the house. The screams and constant movement of people running through the halls soon interrupted the calm that had prevailed only a few minutes before. Arabella, who was finishing adjusting her dress in front of the mirror, frowned as she noticed the growing sense of anxiety that was beginning to fill the air.
âWhatâs going on?â Sarah asked, glancing out the window and then back to the door. The door to her room opened and closed frequently, but no one stopped to give them an explanation. Servants walked back and forth with tense faces, exchanging hurried whispers. The two friends began to grow restless.
Arabella stood up, smoothing out the folds of her dress as she walked to the door. âIâll ask. This is already too weird.â Sarah nodded, following closely behind. They both stepped out into the hallway, hoping to find someone who could tell them what was going on. But every time they tried to stop someone, the employees avoided their gaze, mumbled apologies, and walked on, as if they were under strict orders not to say anything.
Nerves began to set in at Arabellaâs stomach. The laughter and conversation that should be filling the house on a wedding day had turned into tense whispers and palpable nervousness. They tried to approach various people, but the answers were always vague, almost as if no one knew what to say or how to handle the situation.
Sarah, for her part, was starting to lose patience. âIs someone going to tell us whatâs going on?!â she exclaimed, glaring at one of the servants who hurried past without stopping.
Their frustration grew by the second. Finally, they decided to try something more daring: approach Rafeâs room. They knew he must be getting ready there, and although they didnât feel like facing him in the middle of a possible disaster, they couldnât stand to be in the dark any longer.
The atmosphere around Rafeâs room was even stranger. The door was closed, but people passing by avoided looking at it as if they feared what was happening inside. Arabella and Sarah stopped in front of it, exchanging glances. Sarah, frowning, took a step towards the door, but before she could knock, a muffled scream came from someone behind them.
âNo! Donât go in there,â one of the women working in the house said, quickly approaching with a look of pure panic on her face.
Arabella crossed her arms, facing the woman with a mix of confusion and impatience. âWhatâs going on? No oneâs telling us anything.â
The woman hesitated, nervously glancing at Rafeâs bedroom door before looking down. She seemed to be torn between what she should do and what she was supposed to keep secret.
âItâs⌠itâs the bride,â she finally murmured, her voice shaking. âShe⌠she had an accident. On the way to church.â
Arabellaâs world stopped for a second. Her brain was slow to process what she had just heard. Beside her, Sarah let out a soft gasp, her face paling.
âAn accident?â Arabella repeated, trying to understand. âIs⌠is she okay?â
The woman looked down even further, unable to hold her eyes. âNo⌠he didnât survive,â she whispered.
The silence that followed was deafening. Arabella felt the room around her seem to fade away, her mind caught up in the brutality of that simple sentence. Rafeâs girlfriend, the woman he was set to marry in a matter of hours, was dead. There was no softening that reality. Arabella slowly turned her head to Sarah, who had stood frozen, her eyes filled with shock and horror.
âWhatâŚ?â Sarah stammered, bringing a shaking hand to her mouth. âHow⌠how did it happen?â
The woman, clearly uncomfortable and distraught, tried to explain. âIt⌠it was a car accident. The car he was in lost control. He died instantly, we were told.â
Rafeâs life, as arrogant as he was, had just changed forever.
Before they could fully process what they had just heard, the silence of the hallway was suddenly broken by a crash coming from Rafeâs room. Both friends turned sharply toward the door, their hearts pounding.
The noise continued: something heavy had fallen, followed by a thud, and then more sounds of things breaking. It seemed like everything inside the room was falling apart. Arabella and Sarah exchanged a panicked glance, and in that instant they knew Rafe had heard.
"No," Sarah whispered, bringing a hand to her chest as she took a step toward the door, as if she wanted to enter.
Arabella grabbed her arm, stopping her. "Don't go in," she said quietly. She knew the last thing Rafe needed right now was for someone to see him in the midst of his pain.
The noises inside the room continued: more glass breaking, furniture being dragged or overturned, and the occasional muffled scream that could barely be heard. It was as if everything Rafe had held in for days, weeks, or maybe even years was finally coming out in the worst possible way. Arabella could imagine him throwing objects at the walls, taking out his fury, his pain, and his helplessness on anything that could be broken.
Arabella nodded slowly. She knew that the day they had joked about âgetting rid of Rafeâ once she was married seemed far away now. All that was left was unimaginable tragedy.
The day of the funeral arrived with a heavy, oppressive air enveloping the Cameron household like a suffocating blanket. From the moment the news of Rafe's fiancĂŠe's death had hit their lives, the atmosphere in the house had changed. Everyone, from the servants to the family members themselves, walked with a caution that had not been seen before. Arabella had hoped that the funeral would be the moment when, finally, everyone could begin to process what had happened. However, that day only brought more bewilderment.
At breakfast, Ward Cameron had summoned the entire family into the dining room. It was a strange scene: the sun shone softly through the windows, illuminating the table covered with plates of food that no one had any intention of touching. Arabella sat next to Sarah, both silent, waiting for Ward's words, who remained standing at the end of the table, a stern expression on his face.
When he finally spoke, his tone was cold and authoritative. âNo one from this family will be attending the funeral,â he announced, his voice cutting through the air like a knife.
Arabella blinked, shocked by what she had just heard. She glanced sideways at Sarah, expecting her friend to protest, but she was motionless, her gaze fixed on her plate, her hands clenched in her lap. There were no murmurs of disagreement, no attempts to debate the decision. The silence was absolute.
Ward continued, as if he had not expected anyone to question him. âIt is a tragedy what has happened, but it is not wise for us to be there. The family of⌠the deceased,â he said, pausing before mentioning Rafeâs fiancĂŠe, as if he could not bear to say her name, âcan handle the funeral. We need not involve ourselves further in this matter.â
Arabella felt a wave of disbelief run through her body. How could she say such a thing? Her sonâs fiancĂŠe had died tragically, and now they intended to simply ignore the funeral. It was inhuman. Yet the coldness with which Ward spoke made it clear that he was not willing to argue. To him, this was a matter of convenience, of avoiding further unwanted attention.
âThis includes Arabella,â Ward added, giving her a brief but firm look. âYou are part of our family and on this occasion, it is best that you follow our decision.â
Arabella felt a pang in her chest, but said nothing. This was not the time to challenge Wardâs authority, not when everyone was so tense.
Sarah, who had remained silent until this moment, finally spoke, though her voice was barely a whisper. âAnd Rafe?â she asked, her eyes lowered, as if she could not bear the answer.
Ward set his jaw. âRafe wonât be attending. Heâs not fit.â The way he said it made it clear that Rafeâs âconditionâ wasnât something he was proud of.
Arabella knew what that meant. From the moment heâd learned of his fiancĂŠeâs death, Rafe had disappeared into a self-destructive cycle. Empty bottles piled up in his room, and servants whispered that theyâd seen him with bloodshot eyes, walking the halls like a ghost. He was doing everything he could to avoid the pain, drowning himself in drink and other things to escape reality. He hadnât bothered to see anyone or face what had happened. The funeral, of course, wasnât an option for him. Not when his only concern was evading everything that made him feel vulnerable.
The weeks following the funeral were like a minefield in the lives of everyone around Rafe. There was no talk of the accident, or of Rafeâs fiancĂŠe. It was as if his name had been erased from everyone's memory. However, the absence of words did not mean that the pain had disappeared.
Arabella watched everything with a mixture of uneasiness and curiosity. She had grown accustomed to the rhythms of the Cameron family, to their coldness and the way they solved their problems without ever talking about them, but this time, the pressure was different. Something in the air indicated that, although Rafe had begun to get his life back on track, something had broken inside him that would never be the same again.
At first, Rafe had disappeared completely. He did not come down to meals, he was not seen at family gatherings, and the few times Arabella saw him around the house, he would stare blankly, walking like a shadow of the arrogant man she knew. But little by little, that changed. The nights when he would lock himself in his room with bottles of whiskey began to diminish, and, slowly, he began to appear again at social gatherings, resuming his place as the Prince Kook of always.
The first few days Rafe went out with his friends again, Arabella felt a kind of relief. She would watch him walk around the house with that same confidence that had always characterized him, his face unwavering as if nothing could disturb him. It was almost as if the tragedy had never happened. On the surface, Rafe was the same: the Camerons' golden son, the man who could have it all. He was seen with his old friends at clubs, sailing along the coast in his boat, and organizing parties that brought the hustle and bustle back to the quiet Outer Banks neighborhood.
But everyone knew that something in him had changed.
Sarah, who used to be the first to joke about her brother, now kept quiet when he was around. Sometimes, when Rafe walked past her and Arabella with his confident smile and sarcastic remarks, Sarah would just glance at him out of the corner of her eye, as if she expected the old Rafe, the one who laughed carefree at everything, to return at any moment. However, the silence that followed his words was almost unbearable, as if everyone knew that behind that mask of confidence there was something broken that had not yet healed.
One night, while Arabella and Sarah were in the living room of the Cameron house, Rafe walked in, fresh from one of his outings with the boys. His white shirt was open at the collar, and he smelled of alcohol and tobacco. However, his posture was as impeccable as ever.
"What, you're not going to say anything? Did you miss me?" Rafe threw the question into the air, with a lopsided smile that didn't reach his eyes. Sarah faked a laugh as Arabella watched him intently, noticing the details no one else saw: the slight tremor in his hands, the dull gleam in his eyes.
"You were quieter the last time I saw you," Arabella commented in a neutral tone, trying to test the waters. She knew that any comment that was too direct could be a bombshell for Rafe in this state.
He let out a short, hollow laugh, shrugging as he took a drink from the nearby cabinet. "Quiet? No, I was just... thinking about other things."
The weeks continued and Rafe was completely back to his usual routine. He began training and spending time with his friends. He seemed to have regained his place as the charismatic leader everyone admired and feared at the same time.
While to many everything seemed to be back to normal, in Ward's mind, the situation couldn't be further from that. The dream of seeing his son married, establishing a life of success and responsibility, was something he wasn't willing to give up, even after the tragedy. He knew that in order to maintain the Camerons' position at the top, Rafe needed to have a suitable wife at his side. The death of his young fiancĂŠe had only been a temporary obstacle in that plan.
Ward watched his son with a frown, aware that Rafe had returned to his old life, but without the purpose he believed necessary. Going out every night, surrounding himself with superficial friends, and getting drunk were not behaviors worthy of a Cameron with the responsibilities that corresponded to him. No, Rafe had to leave that life behind, and as soon as possible.
For several weeks, Ward had been looking around, evaluating options. The Camerons' social circle was extensive, but he couldn't just choose any woman. No, whoever married Rafe had to be someone suitable, someone who could not only handle his son's complex personality, but also bring respect and stability with her. But, as much as he searched among the young women of high society, he couldn't help but return to an idea that slowly began to grow in his mind.
Arabella.
He had known her forever, just like his family. She was someone he could trust. A strong, loyal young woman, and above all, someone who was already close to Rafe. Although their relationship had been strained over the years, Ward couldn't ignore that, of all the people in his environment, Arabella was the only one who had always been there, even in the darkest times. Perhaps, Ward thought, she could be the key to getting Rafe out of the abyss he was in, even if he didn't know it yet.
One night, as Ward was going through some paperwork in his office, that idea finally took shape. He closed the folder in front of him and leaned back in his chair, pondering what he had to do. He knew Rafe wouldn't take the suggestion well, not in his current state, but that had never stopped Ward before. It was his duty, as a father, to guide his son, even if Rafe didn't understand it.
Convinced that Arabella would be the ideal wife for Rafe, Ward decided to act. The next morning, he called Rose into his office and explained his plan. Rose, though initially surprised, didn't argue. She knew how her husband's mind worked and had learned not to question his decisions, especially when it came to Rafe.
"What about Arabella?" Rose asked, one eyebrow raised. "Don't you think she should have some say in the matter?"
Ward let out a dry laugh. "Arabella is a smart girl. She knows what's best for her family. And this is best for everyone."
Rose didn't answer, but a hint of doubt crossed her face. However, she left the subject up to her husband.
It was a few days before Ward decided to bring up the idea with Rafe. It wasn't an easy subject to broach, and his son was still dealing with the weight of loss, though he tried to disguise it behind his cocky smiles and carefree demeanor. He knew he would have to pick the right time.
The day came on a quiet afternoon. Rafe was in his father's office, going through some paperwork related to the family business, when Ward seized the opportunity. He looked at him from his desk, analyzing his expression, searching for a sign of an opening.
"Son," Ward began in his usual authoritative tone, "it's time for you to think about the future."
Rafe didn't look up from the papers. "What do you mean?" His voice was casual, but Ward noticed the tension in his shoulders.
"You know what I mean. We've talked about it before. You need stability. It's time for you to get married."
Rafe set the papers down on the table, his cold, disinterested eyes meeting his father's. "I thought that subject was closed. You know what happened."
Ward didn't flinch. "What happened was tragic, but it doesn't change the fact that you need a wife. Someone to help you build your life, settle down."
Rafe let out a bitter laugh, leaning back in his chair. âAnd who am I supposed to find now? Another girl who is willing to put up with me? I donât think so.â
âIâve already thought about that,â Ward said firmly, ignoring his sonâs sarcastic tone. âAnd I think the answer has been in front of us all along.â
Rafe frowned, visibly irritated. âWhat are you talking about?â
âArabella,â Ward said finally, dropping the bombshell.
Rafe fell silent, his face turning from confusion to disbelief. âArabella? Are you kidding? Why her?â
Ward kept his gaze fixed on his son, his voice calm but full of authority. âBecause she is a good young woman. She is trustworthy, we have known her forever, and she would be a good wife for you. It is not an absurd proposition, Rafe. It makes sense.â
Rafe stood up from his chair, his movements abrupt, visibly angry. "No, there's no point. I haven't even thought about getting married again, let alone to Arabella. I'm not going to."
"You will if it's what's best for the family," Ward replied coldly. "And this is what's best for you too, even if you don't see it now."
Rafe glared at him with fury in his eyes, but he knew arguing with his father was pointless. Ward always got what he wanted, one way or another. But this time, Rafe wasn't going to give in so easily.
Without another word, he walked out of the office, leaving Ward alone, pondering what had just happened. He knew his son wouldn't accept him right away, but he didn't need him to. As always, Ward had a plan. And sooner or later, Rafe would understand that Arabella was the right choice.
However, Arabella had no idea what was to come.
Arabella was in the living room with Sarah, laughing at one of the Kooks' absurd stories when Ward suddenly appeared in the doorway. His face was serious in a way that didn't go unnoticed by either of them, and Arabella felt the air grow heavy. Sarah, who knew that expression on her father all too well, fell silent.
"Arabella, can you come to my office? I need to talk to you in private," Ward said in his usual tone, one that left no room for questions.
Arabella exchanged a glance with Sarah, who gave her a small nod of support before she stood up from the chair. Although it seemed strange to her, there was no reason to hesitate, so she followed him. As she walked through the halls towards the office, a slight nervousness settled in her chest.
When she reached the office, the door was already ajar. Ward entered first and Arabella followed, but what she didn't expect was to see Rafe sitting in one of the chairs, arms crossed and a tense expression on his face. The atmosphere was thick, and she immediately knew that this was not just any conversation. Something was wrong.
Arabella frowned and, despite her discomfort, walked over to the free chair. She sat down stiffly, looking from Ward to Rafe, waiting for some explanation. The silence in the room was almost oppressive, until Ward decided to speak.
"I've been thinking a lot about your future, Arabella," Ward began, his tone trying to sound understanding. "And I think that, after everything that's happened, it's time for Rafe to move on. And since you both need stability, I think there's a solution that will be beneficial for everyone."
Arabella looked at him in confusion, her brain slowly processing his words. "What... what do you mean by that?" she asked, unsure of where he was going with this.
Ward paused, as if trying to find the right words, though his tone remained firm. "I think it would be best for both of you to get married."
Arabella froze. She looked at Rafe, expecting to see a reaction of surprise or disagreement, but he just watched her with a distant expression. She looked back at Ward, expecting there to be some misunderstanding. "I don't understand..." she stammered, trying to clarify what she had just heard. "Marry Rafe? That doesn't make sense."
Ward, ever calm, folded his hands on his desk. "It makes perfect sense. With his fiancĂŠe dead, and your family starting to look for a husband for you, Rafe is the best choice. You already know each other, your parents trust our family, and this would ensure the stability you both need."
"No, this can't be!" Arabella stood up from her seat, her heart pounding. "I don't want to marry Rafe. This doesn't make sense. We're not... we don't get along!" She looked at Rafe for some sign of support, but he just watched her silently, his dark eyes reflecting resignation.
Rafe finally spoke, his voice low but laden with a strange mix of resignation and mockery. âDonât resist, Arabella. Thereâs no escape for any of us.â
Arabella stared at him in disbelief. âWhat are you talking about? This doesnât have to happen. I donât⌠I donât want this, Rafe. It doesnât make any sense.â
Ward slowly rose from his seat and walked around his desk, approaching Arabella with calculated steps. âI understand that youâre shocked, but believe me, itâs whatâs best for you. Your family is already starting to look for a good match for you, and what Iâm offering is the best option. You wonât have to marry a stranger, you wonât have to fear for your future. Rafe will be a good husband for you.â
Arabella took a step back, shaking her head, fear and frustration invading every fiber of her being. âNo, Ward. I canât do this. I donât want to.â
Ward looked at her with a mix of patience and determination. "I know you think you can run away from this situation, but you can't. Your family is already considering alternatives, and if you don't accept, there will be other decisions you won't like. This is for the best, Arabella. For you, for Rafe, for our families."
Arabella's mind raced, trying to find a way out. But every word Ward said caged her further in. She knew she didn't have much choice. If her family was already involved in the arrangements, she wouldn't have much room to maneuver. And Ward... Ward wasn't a man to take 'no' for an answer.
She took a deep breath, trying to hold back the tears that threatened to fall. Frustration, fear, and despair washed over her, but deep down she knew there was no way out. This was the reality she was in, and she couldn't change it.
After the conversation with Ward and Rafe, the tension between him and Arabella had grown almost unbearable. They could barely be in the same room without feeling an overwhelming pressure in the air. Before, even though they didn't get along, they could at least maintain a polite conversation, but now not even that. Arabella avoided any encounter with him, aware that she was trapped in a situation from which there was no escape. The very idea of ââmarrying Rafe, of sharing a life together, was overwhelming, almost claustrophobic.
Every time she thought about the wedding, she felt a mixture of frustration and resignation. Sarah, however, seemed to be delighted with the idea of ââorganizing the event. She was more than willing to take care of every detail, from the flowers to the dress. Sarah tried to cheer Arabella up, but even with her enthusiasm, it was clear that her friend knew that things were not right.
One afternoon, as the sun filtered through the windows of Arabella's room, Sarah entered without knocking, as she always did, and found her sitting on the edge of the bed, staring into a corner of the room. Arabella's expression was blank, as if she were trapped in her own thoughts, absent from the world around her.
"Hey, Bells," Sarah said softly, closing the door behind her. "How are you feeling?"
Arabella looked up and forced a smile, but Sarah knew her too well to believe that gesture. She sat down beside her on the bed, taking Arabella's hand lovingly.
"You know you don't have to pretend with me," Sarah continued. "I know this isn't what you want."
Arabella sighed deeply, letting out all the air she had been holding. She knew Sarah wouldn't judge her, that she could speak to her with complete honesty. "I don't want to marry him, Sarah," she admitted, her voice breaking. "I never wanted this. And now... I'm trapped. I have no choice."
Sarah squeezed her hand, as if with that gesture she could transfer some of her strength to her. "I know. This isn't fair."
Arabella lowered her head, her eyes beginning to fill with tears that she struggled to hold back. "It's just... even the thought of having kids with him terrifies me. I don't see myself building a family with Rafe. I don't see myself sharing my life like that. This whole thing... is a nightmare."
Sarah looked at her, feeling her friend's anguish as if it were her own. "Bells, I'm here with you. Always. No matter what happens, you're not going to face this alone."
Arabella smiled weakly, grateful for Sarah's words, though the fear was still present. "Thank you, Sar. You're the only reason I haven't gone crazy over all of this yet."
Sarah gave her a small push on the shoulder, trying to ease the tension of the moment. "Hey, you can't tell me that planning a wedding with me doesn't have its fun side, right?"
Arabella laughed through her tears. "Yeah, right, 'fun' is exactly the word I would use to describe this."
Sarah smiled back, though she knew there was little she could do to ease the weight her friend was carrying. "This is all bullshit, I'm not going to lie to you. But no matter what happens, I'll be with you every step of the way. And if you need to run away, I'll help you escape. I know a guy who has a boat."
Arabella laughed, louder this time, imagining the absurd scene Sarah was describing. "It's good to know you have an escape plan ready."
Sarah's humor always managed to calm her down a bit.
Sarah, despite her unconditional support, felt the frustration of not being able to do more. She wanted to free Arabella from this situation, but she also knew that her family, her father in particular, was an impossible obstacle to overcome. So, as the wedding progressed, the only thing she could offer was her company, her loyalty, and a firm hand in the darkest moments.
It wasn't long before the wedding planning was set in motion. The Cameron machinery, with its unlimited power and resources, made everything happen surprisingly quickly. Arabella watched with resignation as the planning took shape almost overnight. Dozens of people were involved, each responsible for a specific detail: the flowers, the music, the decorations. Everything was being managed with surgical precision, as if the fact that she and Rafe could barely stand each other was irrelevant.
Chaos reigned in the house. Employees were running around, phones were ringing off the hook, and vendors were constantly visiting. Arabella couldn't believe how everyone seemed to be so excited about a wedding that, for her, represented the end of any hope of controlling her own destiny.
However, in the midst of the chaos, a problem arose unexpectedly: the family of Rafe's ex-fiancĂŠe showed up, outraged by how quickly the Camerons had decided to go ahead. It couldn't be any other way, Arabella thought. The news that Rafe was getting married again had reached them, and it hadn't gone down well with them.
One morning, as Arabella sat in the kitchen drinking tea, she heard the commotion from the hall. The angry voices of the ex-fiancĂŠe's parents filled the house, and through the half-open door she could hear the dead girl's mother accusing Ward and the entire Cameron family of being insensitive and heartless. "It's disrespectful to our daughter's memory!" the woman screamed, her eyes filled with tears. "It's barely been a while since she died, and you're already planning another wedding as if it meant nothing to you!"
Arabella felt a knot in her stomach as she listened. She couldn't help but feel bad for them. Although she hadn't been close to Rafe's ex-fiancĂŠe, she knew that the young woman had been loved by her family. And now, here they were, protesting what they felt was a betrayal.
Ward, for his part, showed not a hint of remorse. With his usual coldness, he assured them that this was all for the best for both families, and that there was nothing they could do to change it. "We deeply regret your loss," he said in a calculated, distant tone, "but life goes on. Rafe needs a wife, and this wedding is the solution."
The ex-fiancĂŠe's parents were not intimidated. âThis is disgusting! There hasnât even been enough time to grieve properly! And youâre already pushing your son into another wedding!â
Arabella felt the awkwardness building, but Ward seemed to have it all under control. Thatâs when he made his masterstroke. He offered them a considerable sum of money, with the promise that they would never speak of it again. Silence fell over the room as the ex-fiancĂŠeâs parents stared at Ward, stunned. But money solved everything in their world, and little by little, the familyâs resistance crumbled. After one last hate-filled look, they left, accepting the implicit deal Ward had offered them.
Arabella, from the kitchen, watched silently as Ward waved them off without blinking. The contrast between his sincere grief and Wardâs icy pragmatism left her even more empty. She knew that at that moment, any chance of her wedding being delayed or even cancelled was gone. Everything was already underway, and no oneânot even the deceased's familyâcould stop it.
When it was all over, Ward returned to the living room with a calm that bordered on the eerie. As if nothing had happened, he met with some of the organizers to discuss last-minute details, completely ignoring the spectacle that had just taken place.
Arabella slowly got up from the table and left the kitchen, trying not to think too much about what she had just witnessed. She knew that in the Cameron world, feelings always took second place to appearances and power.
The wedding day arrived quicker than Arabella could have imagined. Every step in the organization had passed like a whirlwind, and despite her inner resistance, everything had come together with astonishing precision. The Cameron home was decorated in dazzling fashion, as if the event were a celebration fit for royalty. White flowers hung in every corner, chandeliers sparkled, and the golden light of dusk filtered through the windows, adding an almost ethereal glow to the scene.
Arabella was in her room, surrounded by bridesmaids and stylists, as she prepared for the most important day of her lifeâor at least, the most forced. Sarah was by her side, adjusting the last details of the dress and making sure her friend didnât fall apart before the ceremony.
Arabellaâs dress was something everyone would talk about. The dress was made of a sheer, almost second-skin-like fabric that hinted at more than it covered, though the lace details gave it an air of elegance, both delicate and sensual. Each thread of lace had been strategically placed to create the illusion that the fabric was gliding smoothly over her figure, covering just enough but still revealing the shape of her body in a subtle way. The plunging neckline at the back and the embroidered details on the long sleeves made the dress sophisticated, yet bold.
The skirt flared slightly as it went down, lending an air of grace to her every move. But the real center of attention was the veil. Long and airy, the veil almost floated behind her, like a cloud of lace that seemed to have no end. It fell from a simple silver tiara that held her hair in loose waves, giving her an angelic appearance, but in her mind, it didn't feel that way at all.
Arabella looked at herself in the mirror, and for a moment she didn't recognize herself. The woman staring back at her was everything the world expected of her: perfect, beautiful, untouchable. But beneath that facade, all she felt was a mix of anguish and resignation. The dress might be the most stunning one she had ever worn, but she couldn't enjoy it knowing what it represented.
"You look gorgeous, Bells," Sarah said, trying to cheer her up as she finished adjusting the veil. "I know it's not what you want most, but at least, today you'll be the most beautiful bride of all."
Arabella gave her a weak smile in gratitude. She knew Sarah was trying to do her best in such a difficult situation, but that didn't ease the weight she felt in her chest. "Thank you, Sar. I really don't know what I would do without you."
The bustle outside intensified as the guests arrived. The murmurs, the sound of musicians tuning their instruments, all blended together in a distant echo as Arabella tried to focus on the present. She knew Rafe was somewhere in the house, probably getting ready as well, though she had no idea how he felt.
As she was being helped into her veil, she heard the door open behind her. Her father entered, dressed impeccably for the occasion. He looked at her with tacit approval in his gaze, as if she were a masterpiece he had created and was now displaying to the world. "You look perfect, daughter. I couldn't have imagined a better match for Rafe."
She swallowed hard, unable to find the words to respond. She didn't want to be the "perfect match," but she knew protesting at that moment wouldn't change anything.
"It's time for us to go downstairs," her father said, offering his arm to walk her to the ceremony site. Arabella took a deep breath and took his arm, feeling like she was giving up a part of herself with every step she took toward the wedding.
The garden where the ceremony would take place was a spectacle in itself. White flowers adorned the entrance arches, and the guests were seated in perfectly aligned rows, all waiting to see the bride. The sun was beginning to set, lighting up the sky with golden and pink hues, adding an almost magical touch to the setting.
In the distance, Arabella saw Rafe waiting for her at the altar, with his usual serious and impenetrable expression. Dressed in an elegant black suit. There was no emotion on his face, as if he were fulfilling one more task, another obligation imposed by his father and by the world around them.
With each step she took towards him, Arabella felt the distance between them grow, not physically, but emotionally. They were both on the verge of joining their lives, but they had never been further from each other. When she finally reached the altar, Rafe offered her his hand without saying a word, and the silence between them was more eloquent than any promise they could exchange.
The ceremony was brief. Arabella could barely process what was happening as the priest spoke the words, whispering the promises she and Rafe were to exchange. Their voices were barely audible, a distant echo amidst the murmur of the crowd. It all felt unreal, as if she were watching her own wedding from outside her body. The cold ring Rafe slipped onto her finger was the only tangible thing amidst the fog clouding her thoughts.
Once the vows were concluded, the guests stood up, applauding with a mix of enthusiasm and protocol, celebrating the union. Fake smiles and gestures were what they had expected of her, and though her stomach was churning, she reciprocated with weak smiles.
The transition to dinner and the party was almost immediate. The organizers moved with precision, guiding the guests towards the large tent decorated with lights and flowers, where the tables were impeccably set. Arabella and Rafe were led to the main table, seated like a royal couple under the watchful gaze of all the attendees. Rafe was at her side, but there was no contact, not even a word. All between them was silence and distance.
The dinner passed in the blink of an eye. Waiters paraded around with carefully prepared dishes, and champagne glasses were raised again and again in endless toasts. Arabella tried to keep her composure, but with each toast, she felt the tension in her chest grow. She knew what was coming next. The dance.
When the time came, the music began to play softly and the lights dimmed. Arabella felt her body tense as Rafe took her by the waist, his cold hands on her body.
The music started, and the two of them moved gracefully, but without a hint of connection. Arabella followed the steps as if it were a memorized choreography, feeling the pressure of each guest's gaze. She knew that everyone present was paying attention to them. Rafe's touch on her skin did not provoke the typical nervousness of a bride at her wedding, but a mixture of resentment and despair.
When the dance finally ended, applause filled the room. Arabella let out a sigh of relief. At least that part was over. But what came next weighed even more on her mind: the wedding night. She couldn't stop thinking about what awaited her at the end of the night, and although she tried to convince herself that everything would pass quickly, fear and uncertainty consumed her.
The party continued, but Arabella barely participated. She smiled when she should have, exchanged a few words with the guests, and accepted compliments about her dress and the beauty of the ceremony, but every minute that passed brought her closer to the inevitable.
Finally, the night came to an end. The guests began to leave, and the Cameron house fell back into a sort of calm after the bustle. Arabella and Rafe were escorted to their new room, a luxuriously decorated suite within the Cameron family home. Everything was perfect in the eyes of others, but to her, the silence of that room felt like a prison.
Arabella sat on the edge of the bed, her dress still clinging to her body, feeling the weight of the moment. She was alone with Rafe, and although they had been cold to each other for weeks, the intimacy that being in that room entailed made her feel even more vulnerable.
Rafe stood near the window, looking out. The silence between them was awkward, but Arabella was too nervous to break it. Finally, it was he who spoke, his voice low and sharp.
âIâm not going to touch you, Arabella,â he said without looking at her.
The words hit her with an unexpected harshness. Arabella felt her body tense, her hands tightening on the edge of the bed. It wasnât what she had expected to hear, but at the same time, it wasnât a surprise either. Part of her should have been relieved by Rafeâs confession, by the idea of âânot having to endure this forced intimacy. But instead of relief, what she felt was something far more painful: rejection.
âI donât want to make this any harder than it already is. But donât flatter yourself. This is what it is. A farce,â Rafe continued, his voice laced with contempt.
Arabella swallowed, trying not to show how bad those words made her feel. She was supposed to feel happy that she didn't have to endure a wedding night with a man she didn't want, but instead, Rafe's contempt cut right through her. There was something in his tone, in the way he looked at her, that made her feel small, unwanted. For a moment, she wished he had ignored her instead of attacking her so coldly.
Without another word, Rafe left the room, slamming the door shut. Arabella was left alone, sitting on the bed, surrounded by the opulence of the room she now shared with him. The moon shone faintly through the curtains, and the silence grew heavier.
She was supposed to feel relieved, but the opposite was true. She felt an immense emptiness, a loneliness that enveloped her completely. Tears began to fill her eyes, but she refused to cry. This was not the time to show weakness, even though every part of her felt broken.
Arabella slowly stood up, carefully removing her dress, letting it fall to the floor in a heap of lace and silk. She sat on the bed, hugging herself as the chill of the room took over her body. This was not the life she had imagined, and though she had never wanted to be married to Rafe, the feeling of being rejected in such a brutal way hurt her deeply.

Between Us Pt. 2
Summary: You and Spencer had a casual relationship. A misunderstanding ruins it all.
Pairing: Spencer Reid Ă F. BAU Reader
Warnings: Friends with benefits. Angst.
See My Masterlist Here
Part One
Tonight was the night you were going to confess your feelings to Spencer. You couldnât keep it to yourself anymore, it was too painful. You were worried you would lose him when you told him, but you thought there was a good chance he felt the same.
You spent all afternoon cooking his favorite foods, planning for a night of cuddling and love making after you got the confession out of the way. When you were finished getting dressed, Spencer knocked on your door.
You invited him in, taking your seats at the table. You ate in silence, your nerves making your stomach hurt. âI have to tell you-â âWe should talk.â You spoke over each other. You smile, giggling with excitement. Spencer wanted to talk too. This is going so well.
âYou go first.â You prompt him, smiling wide at him. âThese past six months have been so fun. But I think our time together should come to an end.â You try to swallow the lump in your throat, willing yourself not to cry.
âI want to keep it professional at work. We can still be friends, we will just take the sex out of it.â He explains, studying your face. All you can do is nod as he rattles on about how the statistics of such a relationship show that the longer you did it, the harder it would be to end it.
You used to love hearing him spout a million facts about whatever topic he was talking about. But not tonight. âSo what did you want to tell me?â He asks, serving himself more food. âUm, I was just going to tell you that book I ordered you came this morning. I thought you would be excited.â You rise from the table, retrieving the thick book from the counter and bringing it to Spencer.
âThanks.â His smile breaks your heart. You can feel that your attempts to keep the tears at bay are failing. âWhy donât you take the food with you? Iâm suddenly not feeling well.â You tell him, as you turn your back to get the lids for the bowls. You hand them to him, turning your back as the tears start to fall. âIâm going to lay down. Lock the door behind you.â
If he thought your sudden illness had anything to do with him, he didnât act like it. Spencer was right about nothing changing. He was the exact same as he had always been with you, just without the sex.
Spencer was heartbroken. He didnât want to end his sexual relationship with you. But he couldnât put himself through the pain anymore. He spent all of his spare time with you. He couldnât keep you off his mind. Things had changed a few months ago. He had bent the rules he set in place so he wouldnât fall for you.
You had started spending the night and cuddling. Spencer had fallen fast and hard. But he couldnât go through every day knowing you didnât feel the same. So he had to end it, as painful as it was for him. It was no secret that you had been hooking up. But he didnât want to talk about it with anyone.
Until two weeks after he called it off, he was so upset, he broke down and talked to Derek. He wanted to know all the details, but Spencer only told him the important information. âI have an easy fix for you, pretty boy.â Morgan smirked at him. Spencer leaned in, excited there was a solution.
âYou know what they say, if you want to get over someone, get under someone else. You just have to sleep with someone and she will be the last thing youâre thinking of. Works for me every time.â Spencer cleared his throat. âEasy for you to say. Iâm lucky she agreed to sleep with me. Iâll never find someone else so quickly, and Iâm not sure I would want to.â
âI know someone who has been into you since she started here.â Derek boasts, nodding his head to the blonde at the coffee pot talking to Rossi. âAshley?â Spencer squeaked, while Derek laughed.
Ashley Seaver was one coworker you could not get used to. She was impulsive, always throwing herself into trouble. You couldnât stand her. Not only for how she acted on the field, but for how she looked at Spencer. She wanted him, and she didnât care who knew it. She was all over him from the second she started working at the BAU.
She even knew that you and Spencer were hooking up, but she didnât care. She used every opportunity to touch him or say something flirty, making eye contact with you the whole time she did it. Luckily, Spencer was oblivious. When you mentioned how she hung all over him, he said he didnât even notice. He was too busy thinking about the case or the thing you did with your tongue the night before.
So you stopped being jealous. It wasnât like you had any right to be. You and Spencer were just hooking up. If he wasnât interested in her, then you would just let it go. The last time she tried anything had been a month ago. You were sick and she invited Spencer to go eat after work.
Spencer being the nice guy he is, accepted her offer. While they were out, he talked about you the whole time. She had told him to stop talking about you, that she was right there and she wanted whatever he was willing to give. He politely turned her down, but she was furious. She kept her distance from both of you since then.
Thatâs why you were confused when you heard her squealing and giggling, saying Spencerâs name as loudly as she could. You looked up from your mountainous stack of paperwork that you came in early to work on to see Spencer hugging her.
There was a vase of roses on her desk. âI canât believe you got these for me! What a surprise! I knew you would come around!â She almost yelled, looking directly at you. Spencer took her hand in his, âI wanted to get you something before our date tonight, but I wasnât sure I would have time to get them after work.â He explained shyly looking at her.
That little shit! Was he actually blushing? Was he seriously going on a date with Ashley tonight? And what is with the roses? He never once got you flowers. Did he call things off with you to date her? Seeing them together made you feel sick. Actually, the temperature felt like it rose a hundred degrees. You needed to get up now. You ran to the bathroom making it just in time to throw up.

Bedside Manner
for @acasualcrossfade request for "the infection has spread"
"Some birdie told me that you have been causing a fuss, Wayne, is that true?"
Wayne huffs from his hospital bed, glasses sliding down his nose. He places the newspaper he was reading on the table beside him. "You tell that Robbie of yours to stop exaggerating. It was only a small request."
Steve raises his eyebrows at his favorite patient (Dustin tells him he isn't supposed to have favorites, but he also used to cry anytime he picked up Max before him when they were younger, so what does he know) and gives him a knowing look. "Robin listens to no man, Wayne, you know this. You're better off sending that message through her wife. Besides, small? She was telling me you refused to have any other nurse help you because I wasn't here last night. Which surprised me since you are always pushing me on about taking a vacation. "
Wayne opens his mouth, but Steve presses on. "And the fact Robin was even in the room means they called a psych consult, so I can only imagine how bad it was."
Wayne grumbles like a little kid being scolded for getting his hands caught in the cookie jar. "Yea, well, it was a bad night, kid."
Steve feels his shoulders sag, he takes off his glasses and rubs a hand down his face before placing them back on. "Sorry, Wayne, I had a bad migraine last night. Nance and Robs wouldn't even let me pass the entrance. Bad news?"
"Kid, don't stress yourself out over me. I'm just your patient, and more so, I am just a cranky old man." Wayne patted Steve's knee as he sat down next to him.
"C'mon, Wayne. You're more than that. I'd like to think seeing you in and out of here the last year has made us friends. Although I gotta say, you're the only friend I have that I'll be glad if I don't get to see again, given the circumstances. So, what's the news?"
"The infection has spread."
Steve takes in a deep breath, he tries not to panic, but any infection in a hospital can be deadly, especially for a cancer patient like Wayne. "Incision site?"
Steve must not be as good at hiding his emotions as he used to be because Wayne jumps to ease his worry. "No, kid, don't worry. The surgery was a success. Just got that hospital fever, the good old bronchitis. But it just means I'm here longer than I have to. It also means my nephew is on edge, and I don't know if I can take a second longer of his hovering."
Steve laughed wetly, thankful for the topic change. "Ah yes, the mysterious nephew of yours that I've never met. The way you talk about him almost tempts me into switching to the day shift, sounds like he might be entertaining. But only almost."
"Always wondered why you were always working the nights, most of the others seem to switch. Not a big fan of the day?"
Steve shakes his head gently, "No, I like the quiet here at night. Like getting to know the patients without having to worry about fixing ten million things. Don't get me wrong, it has its downfalls. Like the doctors can be horrible at night, never tell Dr. Wheeler that or Robbie will kill me, and the food is awful. But there is something special about it here at night. So sorry, your ridiculous nephew isn't enough to tempt me."
Wayne smirked, "What if I told you he was a looker and single?"
Steve blushes slightly. He is used to patients trying to pawn him off to their relatives, it came with being a young male nurse, but typically it didn't phase him. But Steve has become close with Wayne, so hearing him suggest he get together with his nephew has him flustered. "I'm good, Wayne, thanks. Gave up on the dating scene a while ago. Not many people can keep up with a guy who works nights and suffers from severe head trauma."
"Shame, Eddie likes the nights too. I'd reckon yal would get along."
"I'm pretty sure we would need more than that, Wayne."
Wayne smiles fondly at Steve. "You don't need a whole lot to build a connection, son. Me and Linda, god rest her soul, only started dating for our mutual love of mugs. And we may not have had long together, but our love was strong. Besides, there is more yal would have in common than just the night shift."
Steve huffs a laugh, "Oh yea, like what?" The least he can do is humor the man.
"Well, you both care about me deeply."
Steve blushes again, "C'mon, Wayne. I'm your nurse. I'm kinda paid to care."
Wayne won't hear any of it, "No, son, it's more than that. You take your break in here every night. You make sure to record the game at home for me because they only have the news here. And last night, you tried to come in with a migraine, even though we both know I am the only patient you can stand right now."
Steve doesn't know what to say back. Wayne is right, of course. Steve has been spending all of his time with the man, giving him extra care. Steve isn't bad with his other patients, he goes above and beyond most of his coworkers, but there is something special about Wayne.
"You got nothing, kid, you know I'm right. Remind me a lot of my nephew. Before visiting hours ended is when I got the news of having to stay longer. Kid almost threw a fit when they kicked him out. Swore he was gonna break in to stay the night with me. I told him not to worry since you would be there, I brag about you too, ya know. When he found out today you weren't here, that boy threw a fit again. Swear he gets his tantrums from his father. Said he was gonna sneak back in tonight. Make sure I had company. That 'the man' couldn't stop him. That if he ran into you, he was gonna have a word with you."
Steve can't help the snort that shakes his body, "I'd like to see him get passed Hop first."
Wayne starts to chuckle, too, "Eds may have had his fair share of escaping the law, but no man moves as fast as Jim in a security uniform."
Steve is fully laughing now, "I know, right? It's like those pants make him aerodynamic or something. No way your nephew is getting by."
It is almost as if Steve's words summon what happens next. There in the doorway is the most gorgeous man he's ever seen, even though he is bent over and out of breath.
"Eds?" Wayne questions, clearly surprised. Steve has to mask his face and quickly before Wayne catches him ogling his nephew. Steve is finding it difficult, though. The man, Eddie, despite his out-of-breath appearance, is stunning. His long curly hair is thrown up in a bun, showing off the piercings up his ears. His clothes are simple but suiting, ripped jeans and a black band tee. Tattoos cover his entire body, and Steve wants to ask about every single one of them.
The most surprising thing about him isn't that he got by Hop (although he has questions for that later), no the most surprising thing to Steve is that Wayne somehow knew his exact type, which most people assume wrong in that department.
Eddie awakens an old craving inside Steve that he thought he had buried long ago.
"Wayne, you would not believe what I just went to get up here. The story I have for you, oh boy. You're gonna love it. Who knew security guards could move that fast. Anyway, I hope that nurse boy of yours is here tonight because I am ready toâ" Eddie stops mid-rant when his eyes land on Steve, a lovely blush blossoming across his pale cheeks.
"I believe what you are trying to say is, what was it, Wayne? Oh yea, 'have a word with me,'" Steve laughs softly.
Eddie sputters, "Wayne!?!" His blushing becomes deeper as the seconds pass by.
Wayne just chuckles as Steve stands. "Don't be mad at your Uncle, I think he was just trying to make me feel better. I am sorry I wasn't here last night for the news. Got my head knocked around too much as a kidâ" Steve taps his head with his knuckles, "âso I suffer from migraines sometimes. I really did try to come in, but wellâyou met Jim. He's pretty fast." Steve worries his lip. Eddie's eyes follow.
"Well, I can't be too mad now, can I?" Eddie swallows nervously before a smirk spreads across his face, switching from shy to confident in two seconds flat. Steve shouldn't be turned on by that. "The pretty face helps too. I'm pretty sure you could convince me to give you my kidney right about now. I'm Eddie, which I know you know by now, and you are...?"
Steve puts his hand out for a shake, "Nurse Harrington. But most people call me Steve."
Eddie grabs his hand gently and brings the back of it to his lips. "Stevie, a pleasure, really." A light kiss is placed on Steve's knuckles. Stevie, he thinks. That's a new one. And he isn't mad about it, at all. In fact, the butterflies in his stomach want him to get Eddie to say it again.
Steve catches Wayne's smug face in the corner of his eye as Steve begins to blush again.
"I'm just gonnaâI'll be right back." Steve stutters.
"Leaving so soon?" Eddie says disappointed.
Steve has the sudden urge to fix the frown on his face. "No, no! Just, uh, gonna call Jim and tell him not to send out a search party. That it's okay if you stay. I'll keep an eye on you."
Eddie's face breaks out into a brilliant smile, "Really, Stevie? You gonna keep me around?"
Steve's heart skips a beat, "If I can help it."

bar fun â DREW STARKEY
authors note thank you lovies for 700+ followers!! forever grateful for you guys and the support you give me. here's a little/not so little drew fic teheh.
summary going out in charleston with the cast after a long week of filming and enjoying your friday night with your friends.
requests open
warnings mentions of drinking, going to a bar, kissing, cussing, and drew being a sweet boyfriend.
"If you start to feel uncomfortable just let me know, baby" Drew whispered in your ear, placing his hand on your thigh and tapping it a few times as the car drew to a stop in front of the bar.
Turning back with a modest smile on your face, you say, "I will, don't worry," before kissing his cheek.
He smiles. Such a beautiful smile.
Drew's willingness to make you feel at ease is one of the many things you appreciate about him. No matter where you are, he wants you to be comfortable rather than uncomfortable.
After a hard week of filming season four of Outer Banks, the cast decided to spend the evening at one of their favorite bars in Charleston and unwind. You're not a member of the cast, but you tag along whenever thereâs an outing.
Downtown was incredibly busy tonight, so the cast will be spotted by many. The plan was to keep close together in case something happened. Security informed Chase that they would have security inside to keep an eye on everyone.
"I can't wait to have a drink," Carlacia groans as she steps out of the SUV and fixes her hair.
"I feel you on that one," Maddie agrees.
Drew pushed you in front of him as he walked through the crowded bar, grabbing your waist with both hands. He made sure to keep you near to him since he didn't want you to leave his sight or be pushed back at random.
Second outing with my very well known boyfriend and Iâma shit my pants.
The moment you walked inside the bar, everyone turned their heads. This is nothing new. When fans greeted them or spoke with excitement, everyone smiled and waved in response which made fans even more excited.
Once you guys got your drinks, you guys started talking about various topics. The guys were in their own little group and girls were in theirs.
You and the girls were talking about going on a week-long girls' getaway this summer. Carlacia brought it up first a few days ago; she always has great ideas.
"I think it would be a lot of fun, and we'll be laying by the beach," Carlacia says, moving her hands in ocean wave motions that make the rest of the girls giggle.
After talking about the girls trip, Madison breaks the silence asking you about going out with Drew in public.
"So, Y/N, how does it feel being in your second outing with Drew?" Madison asked as she swirled her straw in her drink.
âOoo good question,â Carlacia nudges Madisonâs arm softly.
"It's still nerve-racking, but I think the more we go out as a couple, the less nervous I'll be," you explain to your friends, then look in Drew's way; he's chuckling at something JD said.
Drew and you have been together for three months, and the relationship is still fresh. Heâs everything you ever dreamed of. The first time you went out as a couple was last month in Los Angeles, to one of your favorite cafes. This is your second outing together.
"I mean, that's completely understandable, Mariah and I were in the same boat when we first started dating," Madison says with a reassuring smile.
âPlus, you two make each other very happy and we all see it,â Maddie nudges in with complete honesty in her voice.
Hearing other people mention how Drew and you make each other happy undoubtedly makes your heart flutter with joy.
"Aw thank you, we always tell each other that we're each others person and the timing of us meeting was perfect" you continue to say.
After forty minutes, you've had two beers and are enjoying your time with your boyfriend and friends. Everyone was having a wonderful time. Fans came over and took pictures with the cast and a few of them took some with you too.
Conversations regarding filming were brought up, but the cast simply said what they were expected to say because Maddie had informed everyone before arriving at the bar that she would not be announcing the release date for season four.
We all know how that went the first time.
Drew's tall body stood behind you, one hand around your waist and the other holding a drink; your back rested on his chest, drink in hand. Every now and again, you'd sway to the music and chuckle.
âHow are you feeling?â he asks you softly, only for you to hear.
You raise your free hand to his neck, bringing him down so you can whisper in his ear, "feeling quite great, you?" The sensation of his breath on your skin sent shivers down your spine.
"That makes me feel better, and if you're feeling great, I'm feeling great," he chuckles in your neck before giving you soft kisses, which caused you to giggle in response, so he kept doing it.
The feeling of phones in your direction, capturing the sweet moment between you and Drew.
As Drew pulls away, a bunch of fans appear in front of him, beaming with joy. Everyone then hugs the girls and asks how they are doing. They even requested to give you a hug, which surprised you because this never happens. It felt nice.
"Y/N right?" A fan asks with a smile, putting out her phone to take a picture with you. She wanted to make sure she got your name right, so she asked in this way.
"Yes, that is me. Would you like a picture? You inquire as you tuck a strand of your hair behind your ear. Thatâs the first thing you asked because typically fans come up asking for pictures.
She quickly nods, smiling, then pulls her phone out. You take a couple pictures together and start a conversation.
While having a great talk, you discovered that her mom and your aunt are really close friends. She was even more thrilled to hear about it. A few of her friends joined the chat, and they were all quite nice to you.
Drew appeared behind you, causing the girls to glance up in surprise that Drew Starkey was actually standing in front of them. Drew grinned, waved, and hugged them.
âHow are you girls doing? Being safe I assume?â He asks with honesty, wanting to make sure theyâre making good choices.
They answered with the same response.
"Oh get this, Taylor," you add, pointing to her so Drew understands who you're talking about, "mom is best friends with my aunt," chuckling with delight. Drew's jaw fell in surprise.
Eventually, the group of girls returned to their original spot, allowing you to enjoy the remainder of the night. They were really respectful throughout the entire process.Â
You spent the remainder of the night close to Drew's embrace, drinking more with friends before returning to your apartments for a nice night's sleep.

The Final Fifteen is about Terry Pratchett's Death
read on Ao3
The final fifteen is obviously a major plot point, and serves a role in a story that was written long before Terry Pratchett was ever diagnosed with Alzheimerâs. But the scene itself wasnât written until just a few years ago, during the writing of Season 2. In fact, the scene came about during a park bench conversation between Neil Gaiman and John Finnemore.
Others have noted that the non-romantic kiss that signals the story moving into the third act is a Neil Gaiman staple. The function of such a kiss, from Gaimanâs perspective, is to communicate.
In 2023 we are seeing a lot of stories written by men, for men, about men who are best friends and discover that their friendship can go deeper than the norms of society would usually allow; that platonic and romantic love are not so far apart, and perhaps the better word for a relationship that can be described this way is intimacy.
Neil Gaiman has made it clear in interviews that his friendship with Terry Pratchett was deeply intimate. They began collaborating on what would become Good Omens in the 1980âs, endured a tumultuous experience together through the first publication, wherein Neil offered to martyr himself on behalf of Terry if the book failed, and then spent the better part of two decades touring the world, meeting the people who loved their work. Neil would even off-handedly remark that Terryâs fans were so cheerful, and Neilâs seemed like they were ready to kill themselves; wouldnât it be nice if they got married? From the outside, it looks very much as if Terry was Aziraphale-coded, and Neil was Crowley-coded, working together in an unexpected partnership to make the world a little bit more tolerable for the humans inhabiting it. I am not conjecturing that Neil and Terry had romantic inclinations the way their fictional characters do, but I think it is fair to say that their opposites-attract intimacy became an important part of who each of them were.
In 2007 Terry Pratchett was diagnosed with posterior cortical atrophy, a rare form of Alzheimerâs. As the disease progressed, he began to lose himself, and knew that the person he used to be was slipping away. He wanted to end his life on his own terms, and die as himself, but England did not and still does not allow for voluntary euthanasia or assisted suicide. He advocated for the right to die but never achieved it, and ultimately succumbed to the disease in 2015. Neil Gaiman has spoken a lot on the topic of death, and one answer of his that resonated with me reads:
Mostly it feels terrible. It even feels terrible when itâs someone who has been in a lot of pain for a long time or has not really been there for a long time and you know that Death has in some ways been a blessing: suddenly you are mourning the whole person.Â
It doesnât get easier as you age. It gets stranger. The point where you realise how many people you used to know and like who arenât there any longer, and you cannot talk to them or see them or laugh with them is painful in a way that I had never expected. The first time that someone you had a romantic relationship with dies and you realise that there had been moments both of you shared and now you are the sole custodian of those moments and one day you will be gone and they will be lost forever is peculiarly strange and hard.Â
~~~
The entire show is seeded with references to Terry Pratchett, but the most important one is the one thatâs missing. Neil Gaiman cameoed as a sleeping moviegoer in S1E4, but a long time ago, he and Terry had discussed cameoing as sushi restaurant-goers, because sushi was weirdly prominent in the book. That cameo would have been in S1E1. But when it came time to do it, Neil couldnât. Not without Terry.Â
Neil: I was gonna say our location is a Chinese restaurant weâd had turned into a sushi restaurant. So Terry and I, Terry Pratchett and I, had a standing⌠not even a standing joke, just a standing plan, that we were going to have sushi - there was going to be a scene in Good Omens where sushi was eaten and we were gonna be extras, we were gonna sit in the background, eating sushi while it was done. And I was so looking forward to this and, so I wrote this scene with it being sushi, even though Terry was gone, with that in mind and I thought: Oh, Iâll sit and Iâll eat lots of sushi as an extra, this will be my scene as an extra, Iâll just be in the background. And then, on the day, or a couple of days before, I realized that I couldnât do it.
Douglas: You never told me this before either. I might have pushed you into doing it, had I known. I think you were right not to tell me.
Neil: I was keeping it to me self âcause I was always like: Oh, maybe Iâll be⌠this will be my cameo. And then I couldnât. I was just so sad, âcause Terry wasnât there. And it was probably the day that I missed Terry the most of all of the filming - it was just this one scene âcause it was written for Terry and all of the sushi meals weâd ever had and all of the strange way that sushi ran through Good Omens.
~~~
In the Final Fifteen, it is clear that Crowley and Aziraphale want to stay together. They love each other. They each know that the other loves them. Thereâs nothing that needs to be said, no convincing that their bond is true and real and precious.
But Aziraphale has to go to Heaven, and Crowley cannot follow him there.
I cannot speculate what it must have been like for Neil to endure losing a friend who, though Iâm sure he desperately wanted to still be in his life, he also knew that life had become a burden to him, and grieved that Terry was not able to choose the time and manner of his departure from this Earth. This sort of complex grief, we fan-ficcers know, is the kind that is often best processed through story-telling.Â
I think that what we see Crowley going through in the Final Fifteen, alongside its importance to the story arc of Good Omens overall, is Neil processing his grief at losing his friend Terry Pratchett, and even the kiss, that violent, terrible, awful kiss, was the symbolic representation of Neil saying goodbye.

domestic moments with them
im back HA. ngl this has been on my drafts for longer than i would like to admit but anyways. enhas new tour how are we feeling :/ ugh. hope you enjoy this!!!!
make sure to leave feedback! my requests are closed and my talk box is always open so lets talk!
WARNINGS ! mentions of food? playful arguing in heeseungs; non-sexual bath in sunoo's, i think that all!
word count: 1.3k
LEE HEESEUNG ! â game nights
we all know heeseung loves gaming and obviously he would love it if you were keen on it as well and if you werenât he would try to slowly introduce you to it. he would be all excited when he got a free day to spend with you. he hits you up with texts to tell you heâs coming over and before you know it heâs by your door with his hands full of your favourite snacks and sodas. you would set blankets and pillows up on the floor so you could both sit comfortably while playing. heeseung tried not to be competitive with you when you both started dating but after you were together for a while he would get all worked up with you. if you were playing 1v1 against each other he would do anything to win and if he lost he would be so pouty. if you were playing online he would be screaming orders at you making you scream back at him. in the end you both ended up cuddling while eating the rest of the snacks and would laugh at both of your previous behaviors.Â
rest under the cut !
PARK JONGSEONG ! â cooking together
if iâm not wrong this is probably the second time i write about this and i will never shut up about it! jay loves cooking and he loved cooking, especially for you even more. so when you join him in his favourite hobby he is so happy. he would cook the main course while you would bake some dessert for you two. both of you would be busy, most of the time in silence only exchanging a few words while easy-listening tunes played from his speaker in the background. while he let something cook he would sneakily come behind you and hug you, his arms circling your waist, making you turn your head around to leave a kiss on his lips. the kitchen would be filled with the comforting smell of food, making both of your stomachs grumble in hunger. after everything was done you would decorate the dining table with candles and your best cutlery, while jay would plate the food neatly. you two would have a candlelit dinner, talking and laughing with each other, something you both treasured so much since these moments were rare due to jayâs career.
SIM JAEYUN ! â breakfast in bed
jake isnât really an early bird and itâs rare for him to wake up early but sometimes when he does, heâll sneakily walk to the kitchen to prepare you some good breakfast or brunch. heâll try his best to cook for you even though heâs not the best cook in the world. the only things being heard in the kitchen would be the sizzling of the pan and his silent curses when he burns himself. the smell of bacon and pancakes would fill your small kitchen. he would be pacing back and forth looking for all kinds of ingredients in your counters and drawers. jake would prepare you such fancy coffee adding all kinds of toppings and adding things to give the drink some extra flavour. he would put everything nicely on a tray and would carefully walk to the bedroom, trying to keep everything from falling. you were already awake when jake came in smiling fondly at you, seeing you rub the sleep of your eyes. you both would eat silently on the bed as the sun hit right on your window.
PARK SUNGHOON ! â dancing in the living room
this one is just me projecting my own fantasies. sunghoon would be on his day off and whats better than spending it with you whom he missed so much? you two would be in your living room, just talking about random topics, laughing with each other, but it was mostly you updating him on the latest gossips from work colleagues. you had ordered some snacks and they were all almost gone. you both started complaining about still being hungry so you grabbed your phone to order more. before putting your phone down you got up to turn your speaker on and connected it to your phone. soft jazzy tunes started sounding in the room, changing the room's atmosphere to a more romantic one. you turned to look at sunghoon and extended your hand to him, making him laugh at you but hold it nonetheless as he got you. you wrapped your arms around his neck and you both started swaying from side to side to the rhythm of the music. you laid your head on his chest, listening to his heartbeat as he ran his hands up and down your back.
KIM SUNOO ! â bubble bath
self-care is a must for both you and sunoo. starting with skincare. you wouldnât even need to buy any because, oh! did sunoo buy something for him? donât worry, he got two of it so he could give you one. you would have a whole shelf full of products, almost full to the brim. every time sunoo and you had a sleepover you would always do full self-care, watching movies with face masks type of thing. but when you were both feeling a little extra you both would do everything to turn your bathroom in a full spa room. candles of all scents would be lit on each corner of the bathtub. bath bombs already spreading in the warm water along with flower petals you neatly scattered in there. you both put face masks on your faces before grabbing some fancy drink (wine) and getting in the water on opposite sidea. you both would sigh in unison, feeling your bodies relax under the warmth embracing both of you.
YANG JUNGWON ! â pottery at home
i canât stop thinking about jungwonâs vlog. the first time he saw you after making some pottery he was so happy to tell you about it and you both agreed to try and do it at home one day. so one day jungwon came over to your house with a bag full of cheap kidâs paint and clay. you both put old sheets on the floor to avoid staining it and put an old kitchen towel on the table. after putting on some old clothes you both started playing around with the clay. soon enough your table was a mess full of brown water, stained from the clay. both of your faces dirty with dry clay from both of you rubbing it in each otherâs faces. none of you had done a single useful thing out of it, multiple things in weird shapes were laid out on your table. every time any of you made something you would show it to the other laughing at the lack of skill put in the piece of art. even though jungwon tried to follow the rules he had when he went to do pottery professionally he gave it all and ended up just playing around with you.
NISHIMURA RIKI ! â picnics at home
time alone with you is one of the most precious things for ni-ki. itâs so rare for him to have the smallest amount of time with you so he tries to make every minute of his day off with you enjoyable. but as we all know itâs complicated for you to have outdoor dates and you both have expressed your desire to go on a picnic together near the river, but it all stays wistful wishes that need to be postponed for a far future. so you and ni-ki stick with your at-home dates that you love more than anything. you both would take everything that was placed in the centre of your living room and you would decorate it with checkered picnic blankets and place vases and plants around just for the sake of it. you would even prepare a little basket with all the food you made for both of you. you two would enjoy it so much, both of your hearts filled with warmth as you enjoyed each other's company.

Soon You'll Get Better
Evan "Buck" Buckley x fem!reader
summary: you and Buck decide to keep your pregnancy a secret until the time is right, but an accident makes it all come out and everyone comes together to comfort the two of you
word count: 4k
cw: graphic description of a car accident and injuries, hurt/comfort, Buck has panic attack
part one part two part three part five part six
Things with you and Buck had been perfect since you had made amends in your apartment. Your pregnancy was a little secret between the two-well, the two of you and Athena and Scarlett-and you had planned on keeping it that way until you were far along enough to where a miscarriage wouldnât be an issue. You felt horrible for keeping such big news from your uncle, but you were just trying to take the proper precautions.Â
You had been staying at Buckâs more often than Scarlettâs so the two could be in your own little world with your baby. Youâd make meals together as you danced around the kitchen to whatever playlist Buck had on and heâd spin you around, pulling you into kiss after kiss, telling you how grateful he had been for you and for the baby. It seemed like he talked to your stomach more than he would to you and that was more than okay with you.
Heâd insist on laying on your stomach while the two of you watched tv after a long day of work for the both of you and heâd tell the baby about his day and youd scratch his head as he did so, always feeling like you were going to cry as you watched him. If he was like that with your unborn child, you knew that he was going to be the best dad once the baby finally came.
Athena had told you that you had to be the one to tell Bobby about your pregnancy, so he was very much still in the dark as far as the topic was concerned. You werenât showing yet, but every time you were around him, you were paranoid that he somehow knew your secret. So, you resorted to wearing big cardigans or holding a pillow in front of your stomach when you sat down on their couch or one of the chairs.Â
After you got settled in, Bobby and Athena insisted on having weekly dinners with you and it was becoming even harder to hide your growing stomach. But you tried your best, knowing that you just had to hold on a bit longer before you could find out the sex of the baby and then you and Buck were going to make an announcement to the rest of the 118.Â
It was the night of the week when you went over to Bobbyâs for dinner and he had you pick up a dessert on your way there, but you had decided to show up early so you could talk to Athena before Bobby got home for work.Â
As soon as you got in the car, you noticed that Buck was calling you that, signaling that he had just gotten to work. It seemed like he was always calling you when they were just sitting at the firehouse and you hardly minded. His coworkers did, though. Always rolling their eyes at him and even going as far as making bets to see how many times heâd call you during one shift. So far, the record was twenty-seven.Â
âHey,â you picked up and Buck let out a sigh of relief. He didnât know why he was always so worried that something was going to happen to you or the baby. Maybe that was why he always called so much. To give himself a peace of mind.Â
âHi,â Buck replied, a bright smile appearing on his face. âI miss you.âÂ
âI miss you too, but youâll be at Bobby and Athenaâs for dinner, right?â Just as you pulled out of the parking garage, you noticed that it was raining hard which was something that you hated to drive in. It was always unpredictable and accidents seemed inevitable so you tried to avoid driving in it as much as possible.Â
âI wouldnât miss it,â he replied, then let out a sigh, moving over to the kitchen so everyone couldnât hear him. âWhen are we going to tell them? Bobby keeps looking at me like he knows something and Iâm honestly becoming afraid of him.â He eyed the man who was sipping on his coffee while talking to the other members of the 118 as they all sat at the table. Bobby was getting suspicious and Buck could see it.
âBobby wouldnât hurt a fly, you know that,â you told him as you turned into traffic, finding yourself at a red light. The rain was coming down harder and it was getting more difficult to see which was worrying you. âAnd we will tell them when we find out the sex.â
âSleeping with you was one thing, but if he knows that I got you pregnant, heâll have my head.â Buck wasnât scared that Bobby would hurt him, but more to give him a lengthy lecture and Buck would rather clean the bathrooms of the fire house every single day of his life than get yet another lecture from Bobby. Especially when that lecture centered around his sex life.
âBaby, I think youâre being a bit dramatic,â you let out a chuckle as the light turned green and you pressed on the gas, maybe going a little too fast as you tried to get to Athenaâs as quickly as possible to get out of the rain.Â
âYou realize heâs going to want to talk to the both of us, right? Thatâs why he invited me over for dinner too.âÂ
âI donât know why youâre so scared, Evan. Itâs just Bobby. And Athena will be there to back us up. You know that. Just take some deep breaths, okay?â You asked as you got to another light, but quickly passed it as it turned red, not wanting to sit in traffic any longer, especially since LA traffic was a nightmare and rain made it even worse.Â
You were going a little faster than you should have and soon enough, you were starting to hydroplane, your car spinning out of control as you tried to take your control back. But the car had a mind of its own as it spun around to face traffic for a split second until it turned off the road and slid down the grass that was to the left of it.Â
You were screaming into the phone, telling Buck what was happening, but everything you were saying was unintelligible on the other line. Buck wasnât sure what was going on, but it definitely wasnât good and he was becoming scared for you. The last thing he heard was you screaming his name before he heard a loud crash.Â
Your car slammed into a tree, crunching the front bumper. The force in which your car hit the tree knocked you unconscious as your head hit the steering wheel hard before the airbags deployed. You laid there as Buck yelled into the phone, trying to get your attention, but it was no use. You were out cold.Â
Hearing Buckâs urgency, the other members of the 118 turned to him, wondering what was going on. He hung up the phone and pocketed it before rushing over to Bobby to tell him that he needed to go find you.Â
âWhatâs going on, Buck,â Hen asked as Buck approached the table. He looked like he had just seen a ghost.Â
âItâs y/n,â Buck replied. âI was just on the phone with her and all I heard was screaming and then a loud crash. And she wouldnât respond when I called her name. I have to see her, Cap.âÂ
âIâm sure sheâs fine, Buck,â Chimney gave Buckâs shoulder a pat.Â
âYeah, you probably just thought you heard something,â Hen agreed. Why was everyone brushing him off? He knew what he heard and clearly it was an emergency. If he didnât get to you quick, you could have been dead. And Buck would have been damned if he let that happen to you.
âBobby, you donât understand. You have to bench me today.â He knew he wouldnât be able to do his job if he was worrying about you the whole day and being a firefighter, he couldnât afford to be distracted. He just wanted to make sure that you were doing okay and then heâd come back in time to respond to the next call.Â
âNo can do today, Buck,â Bobby shook his head as he stood up from the table to take his empty coffee mug to the sink. âI let you leave here a couple of weeks ago because of her and I canât let you again today. Youâll see her at dinner.â As soon as the words left his mouth, the siren went off and he begrudgingly followed Bobby to the engine, worrying about nothing but you the entire way there. What he had heard wasnât good and your screams along the loud crash replayed in his head on a torturous loop the entire ride to the scene.
It looked like a pretty bad car accident from what he could see. Rain was still pouring down on the city and Buck assumed that was the cause of the accident. There was a huge pile up and police had blocked off the intersection where the big part must have happened. The crew went up and down the line to check on every vehicle that was affected in the accident and thankfully, none of them had been life threatening.Â
As Buck helped Eddie remove a man from his car that had been completely crushed in the pile up, he couldnât help but worry that you were in the accident, but Eddie assured him that you werenât. That he was just paranoid and he wasnât making him think rationally. They got the man on a board and carried him to an available gurney where he was rolled to the ambulance.Â
While that was happening, Hen and Chimney got to the intersection and noticed that the guard rail had been driven through and looked down in the grass to see a vehicle had hit the tree that was down the hill. They made a beeline for it and Hen was the first to notice you in the driverâs seat. You were still unconscious with your head against the steering wheel and blood was pouring from the large gash on your forehead that was caused by a piece of glass that had swiped across it.Â
Hen let out a gasp as she realized who you were and really hoped that Buck wasnât around to see you. She ripped open the door that was a little bent from the accident and reached up to check your pulse, letting out a sigh of relief when she could feel your heartbeat.Â
âI got a pulse!â She told Chimney then turned back to you, shaking your shoulder.Â
âY/n,â she called out to you âY/n, can you hear me?â When there was no answer, she radioed that they needed a board and a collar and immediately. One of the firefighters from the other department rushed down with one and together, they got you onto the board and the two of them carried the board up the hill where two paramedics were waiting with a gurney.Â
They got you on it just in time for Buck to see you and he raced towards you, falling over his feet as he did so. Eddie was quick to help him up and he blocked Buck from getting to you, knowing that it would have been for his own good. He knew he wasnât crazy. He knew it. And if he had left when he had wanted to, he would have been able to get to you in time before you had been knocked out. Okay, maybe that wasnât true, but he was going to tell himself that it was.Â
âEddie, move, I have to get to her,â Buck yelled, trying to push Eddie out of the way as he watched Hen and Chimney push the gurney towards the ambulance. He pushed Eddie out of the way and moved to walk beside you, watching you lay there unconscious. He could feel tears welling up in his eyes and Eddie held him back so they could put you in the back of the ambulance.Â
âEddie, let me go,â he tried to wriggle out of his grasp. âI have to go with her.â He could feel sobs trying to escape his throat and was making an attempt to choke them down. Heâd wait to do that at the hospital, not wanting to let his emotions fully take over when he was on the job.
âYouâre too hysterical right now, Buck,â Hen told him. âTake some deep breaths and you can go with Bobby to the hospital.â Both her and Chimney got into the ambulance and the door closed behind them. It took off down the road and Buck broke down right there, collapsing onto his hands and knees and Eddie was quick to comfort him, resting his hand on his back as Bobby approached the two of them once he was sure that everyone was accounted for.Â
All he could see was Buck on his knees and in all of the chaos, it seemed that everyone neglected to tell him what exactly had happened to his niece. All he knew was that something was wrong. Very wrong. He raced over to the pair and placed a hand on Eddieâs back. The man turned to face him and his face went white as he realized that it was his captain.Â
âWhatâs going on here? Is Buck okay?â Buck had been affected by losing people before, hell, they all had, but something was off. He had never cried like that over a stranger, even when he felt like it was his fault.Â
âCapâŚitâs y/nâŚher car hit a tree. Sheâs stable but unconscious. Theyâre taking her to Presbyterian.â Without a single word, Bobby pulled Buck to his feet and both he and Eddie took him to the engine where they all piled in, heading straight for the hospital.
Eddie sat next to Buck, comforting him as well as he could, but all he could think about was what happened to Shannon. He was in Buckâs exact position, just responding to a call when he saw her in the middle of the road. But it wasnât about him this time. It was about Buck and Bobby and he needed to be there for them in their time of need. He continued to rub Buckâs back and as he let him cry, knowing that anything he said wouldnât get into his friendâs head, so he kept quiet.Â
All Buck felt on the way to the hospital was guilt. If he hadnât called you then you wouldnât have gotten into the accident. All of your focus would have been on the road and then you wouldnât have swerved or whatever happened. It didnât matter if it wasnât his fault, he was going to tell himself that it was. He was going to beat himself up about it for the rest of his life.Â
As soon as the engine pulled up to the hospital, the three rushed inside just as your gurney was rolled inside. Both Bobby and Buck made a beeline for you, tears welling up in their eyes as they watched your lifeless looking, blood-stained face. They both went to follow you, but a nurse blocked their path, telling them that they werenât allowed to see you just yet as you needed surgery to have the glass removed from the slice on your forehead.Â
So, hours passed as the three men sat in the waiting room, wordlessly waiting to be able to see you and or hear about your condition. It didnât seem like you had been hurt that badly so what was the hold up? Every second that passed, Buck had been thinking the worst. Were you okay? Was the baby? Oh god, nobody knew about the baby and you werenât far enough along yet to be showing very much so it wouldnât have been obvious.Â
âMr. Buckley?â A voice asked and all three men whipped around, quick to stand to their feet as the nurse approached them.Â
âIt looks like has a slightly sprained neck and received some stitches for the deep cut on her forehead. There is a small break in her left leg from where it slipped from the gas pedal, but it should heal in a few weeks. Y/n and the baby are going to be just fine, Mr. Buckley. You should be able to go and see her in just a few minutes.â
You were okay. You were okay. And so was the baby. Sure, you had some injuries, but they were going to heal and youâd be good as new in no time. At that point, Buck was never going to let you out of his sight again just so nothing like that ever happened again. He didnât know what he would have done if he lost you. If Bobby lost you.Â
âThanks,â Buck replied as tried to process all of the information and the nurse turned to leave the waiting room as Bobby and Eddie turned to stand in front of him. Oh, he was definitely in for an earful.Â
âBaby?â They asked in unison. Of course, they knew that you and Buck had slept together, but your pregnancy was definitely not something that had been mentioned to either of them.
âYes,â Buck replied, feeling a weight lift off his shoulders. He had been carrying that secret for far too long for his liking and now that it was finally out in the open, he felt like he could finally breathe.
âSo my niece is having a baby and neither of you thought I should know?â Bobby didnât look angry, but disappointed and Buck actually thought that was worse. He did feel bad for keeping something like that for him, but ultimately wanted to leave that up to you since you were the one carrying the baby.
âIâm sorry. I just-we didnât want to tell anyone too soon. We were going to wait until we found out the sex next week.â He was getting choked up. Even though everything was going to be okay, he still couldnât help but be worried. That just seemed to be what he was feeling no matter what was going on.Â
âHey, hey, itâs alright,â Bobby gave Buckâs shoulder a squeeze before pulling him into a hug. Buck held onto him tight and let out the sobs that he had been holding while Bobby felt his own eyes getting misty.Â
Eddie just stood there, watching two people that he really cared about share a moment and feeling relief that you were okay even though he didnât know you very well. He really didnât know how he wouldâve been if something worse had happened to you. To see both Bobby and Buck in shambles would have absolutely broken him and he wasnât sure he couldâve seen them like that. Just watching Buck break down as the ambulance drove off was enough to break Eddieâs own heart.Â
Just as the men pulled away from each other, Hen and Chimney entered the waiting room with Maddie in tow. Buck made a beeline for her and was quick to pull her into a hug, so grateful that his sister could be there for him during this hard time. She said nothing but encouraging words to him as she squeezed him, assuring him that he was going to be okay.Â
âHow is she?â She asked once she pulled away, grabbing hold of Buckâs hands.Â
âSheâs stable. Her neck is sprained and she has a broken leg, but other than that she's going to be fine.â He began to pick at the skin around his nails as the anxiety ate at him, all of the horrible possibilities playing in his mind still. He could feel his chest getting tight like he was on the verge of a panic attack, but he couldnât have everyone worrying about him too. You were the priority at the moment. He sat down in the nearest chair in a way that wouldnât cause suspicion and Maddie sat next to him.
âOh, thank god,â Maddie let out a sigh of relief. She knew just how much you had begun to mean to Buck in the short time that you had known each other and knowing that you were going to be okay made her feel so much relief.Â
âAnd the babyâs okay too,â Buck added, watching his sisterâs eyebrows shoot up, her hands flying to her mouth. She had her assumptions with the way you had been behaving, but hearing that she was actually right was shocking.Â
âA baby!â She exclaimed. âBuck, thatâs amazing!â She pulled him into another hug, knowing that he was going to be the best dad. Seeing the way he had been with both Christopher and Jee-Yun, she was sure of it. Once she pulled away, she could see that he was still uneasy and reached over to give his back a rub.Â
Not long after, the nurse told Buck that he could go back and see you and despite wanting Bobby to come with him, he knew he had to do it alone. He didnât know why he was so nervous. You were asleep so it wasnât like he was going to have to say anything to you. That was the part he was most anxious about. When you woke up, what was he going to say to you? For the most part, the man never knew when to shut up, but now he was rendered absolutely speechless.Â
Buck stood in front of the door and let his hand hover, watching it shake as he lowered it to the handle. He slowly pushed the door open and hesitantly entered the room, sticking his shaking hands into his pocket as you came into view. He took everything in a little bit at a time. First, he looked at you, taking in your injuries: the giant scar along your forehead and your bruised cheek, the brace around your neck, and the cast that was on your left leg. Even though you were all banged up, Buck still thought you were the most beautiful he had ever seen.Â
His eyes moved to your stomach and it somehow seemed bigger than when he had seen you that morning. You were starting to show a little, but not enough that it was obvious that you were carrying a baby. He was still in shock that you were both okay considering how bad the crash seemed to be, especially the baby. He had taken care of multiple women who hadnât been as lucky, but you were. So much so that he felt lucky too.Â
Buck sat in the chair that was next to your bed and scooted it so that it was almost right up against the bed. He then took your hand that was nearest to him in both of his and pressed a kiss to his before bringing it back down to rest on the bed. He gave it a squeeze then let his gaze fall back on your face. He could feel tears well up in his eyes and he wasnât going to hold them back. He was allowed to cry and had to remind himself of that.Â
âHey, baby,â he said, reaching up and letting his hands graze over the bandage on your forehead. âItâs me,â he sniffed. âIâm here. Iâm always here. And I just want you to know that Iâm not going anywhere. Iâm going to be right here until you wake up and Iâm going to be right here when itâs time for us to go home. Youâre so strong and youâre going to get through this. Youâre going to be just fine.â One of his tears trickled down onto your gown and he decided that it was time for him to sit back so he just settled for holding your hand, perfectly content with just sitting there and watching you sleep.
He could feel himself drifting from all of the emotions and a long shift and eventually he closed his eyes right in the chair, your steady beat of heart on the monitor being the thing that lulled him to sleep. For once, he was able to sleep soundly and wasnât having any nightmares about you or the baby. It all just a lot of nothing going on in his head and that was exactly the way he liked it.
Just when Buck was deep in sleep, he was awoken to a loud, consistent beeping from your heart monitor. He sat up and could see that you were flatlining and just when he was about to get someone, nurses and doctors rushed inside and ushered him out of the room. The door was slammed closed in his face before he could process what was happening and he quickly moved to the little window to see them starting compressions, but you still laid there, lifeless. They tried and tried again before pulling out the defibrillator.Â
It was as if everything was moving in slow motion as the machine shocked you, but you still werenât waking up. They all turned in Buckâs direction as they shook their heads and he just backed up from the window, falling to the floor as he lost his footing. A sob raked through his body as he sat there, crying that he had lost the one woman he thought he could keep along with the baby he loved more than anything in the world. You both were gone and this time, there was nothing he could do to save you.

What if I say no and I come with you
Request
âItâs one thing to be in love, but itâs something else entirely to be willing to sacrifice everything for it.â - Unknown
December 10th: We had just got back on the bus; we had just played Chelsea and won 4-1. The main topic throughout the bus was the transfer window. You and Jen were sitting next to each other. On the opposite side, Beth and Viv sat. You and Beth were nearest to the window with your partners next to you. Beth and Jen were talking as you and Viv just sat and listened. The topic of transfers comes up. Everyone knows that you and Jenâs contracts run out in January.
âAre you going to sign new contracts this season?â You and Jen had put a lot of thought into it. Jen had already started to get offers, a lot from the NWSL. You had received some offers as well, so you had decided that Jen was going to go to the NWSL and you somewhere in Europe. You had done this countless times, but something about this didnât feel the same. Jen glances over at you.
âWe talked, and we decided if things donât change with the offers, Iâm going to go to the NWSL and Y/N somewhere in Europe.â
You just hum. âWhat about you, Viv?â It was no secret in the team that Viv was unhappy. The way she was being treated was wrong, but thereâs nothing anyone can do about it.
âI havenât decided anything yet, but if I donât, my contract runs out in July, so I guess Iâll just see what happens.â After that, the other two go back to talking.
January 2nd: Kim Little has invited the whole team around for a team bonding session. Training didnât start for another few days, but as the transfer season is now open, this is probably the last time that this team will play together. We needed to be at her house at 5 p.m., and itâs currently 4:56. You two just pulled into her street. A few cars you recognize. Jen pulls into an open spot, turns off the car, and gets out. She always insists on opening the door for you. You walk up to the house, knocking on the door. You wait for someone to answer. Kim finally opens it.
âHey, come in. A few of the girls are already here.â Walking into the main room, more than half of the team is there. You and Jen separate and go talk to different people. You walk over to Frida, Lia, Amanda, Stina, Katie, and Caitlin.
âHey, Y/N.â
You stand next to Lia. âHey.â You had not seen each other since the 21st, as everyone left for where they were spending Christmas on the 22nd.
âHow was Christmas?â Everyone talks about what they did and random stuff. Once again, the transfer topic comes up.
âY/N, have you and Jen chosen what teams youâre going to?â
You had thought about it for the last month but had yet to pick one. âJen has; I havenât yet, though.â
January 19th: You had just finished training. You had been thinking about it and didnât know who to talk to, so when you bump into Kelly Smith, it feels like a blessing.
âHey, Kelly, can I ask you something?â
She had always said that if any of you needed help, you could ask her, and now you need that help.
âYeah, whatâs up?â
You look around to make sure that nobody is near. âHow did you know you were making the right choice when you retired?â
She takes a moment to think. âI knew I was making the right decision when I looked at all the things I had achieved, and when I thought about it, I felt at peace that I had done everything I could and won everything I could. I knew I was doing it for the right reasons.â
Hearing her say that really helped. Realistically, there was nothing else you could winâyou won the Euros with England, came second in the World Cup, had Olympic medals, and played for Barca. You had done it all. You nod your head.
âThank you for saying that.â
You go to the changing room and see everyone. You get changed.
January 30th: We are standing in our back garden. It was Jenâs goodbye party. A few people were talking, a few eating, and a lot playing football. You and Jen are standing on the deck at the top of the garden. Her arms are wrapped around your back as your head is on her chest.
âJen.â
She hums to show that sheâs listening.
âWhat if I say no to all the teams and come with you? I donât want to be separated anymore. Iâm happy with everything Iâve achieved; thereâs nothing left to do.â
She pulls back a little to look at you, her eyes searching yours for any sign that youâre lying.
âAre you serious?â
You nod your head as your voice seems to have disappeared.
Jenâs expression softens as she looks you in the eye. âAre you sure? Thereâs a lot to considerâwhat if you regret it? What if you miss out on opportunities that could have come your way?â
You squeeze her hands gently. âI know there are risks. But I think the chance to be together and not worry about when the next time we get to see each other is worth it. I want to wake up with you next to me. Iâve done everything I have ever wanted for my career; thereâs nothing left to accomplish.â
She holds you in a tight hug. âIf this is what you truly want, then come with me.â

"Anything" ⥠Curly x Anya
art credit: seagummies on twitter
warnings: angst, topic of miscarriage
this is a good ending au of mouthwashing! if u are a hater, then dni𼰠this post aint for u, babe
Chapter 1
Jimmy had been dead for the past few months due to the crash. The crew has been slowly rotting. They have lost all hope, and for good reason. Daisuke and Swansea are unconscious because of hunger and exhaustion. Curly and Anya are slowly losing grip. Despite all this, the beautiful glowing screen still showcased the moon and stars. Curly's hair sticks to his face due to anxious sweat. "Well, we had a good run. Didn't we." Curly smiled. Anya laid beside him and she smiled despite the tears rolling down her face. "Yeah." Curly's breath hitches "Anya... I'm-â
Curly opened his eyes with a jolt. There he was, in the hospital. His whole body was aching. A nurse walked over to his bed, "How are you feeling, sir?" His eyes widened harshly. "Where is my crew?" He yelled. "Are they okay? Is Anya alive? I never got to tell her I'm sorry!" Curly's heart beat spiked. Thinking about Anya's distressed face made him feel nauseous from guilt. He placed his head in his hands, as if grappling with reality. The nurse spoke gently to try and to calm him down, "Everyone is okay. Some are still waking up." He sighed, feeling relieved. A doctor came into the room. "How did we survive? How are we home?" Curly was more than shocked. The doctor walked up to him, holding his papers. "Another space ship found you guys. Some astronomers were on an expedition in the area. You all were very lucky they were out there." The doctor said, cracking a smile. Curly looked down at his hands. "What room is Anya in? If you don't mind asking." Curly asked quietly. The nurse responded, "Room 25. And this is 24." After doing some basic checkups, and giving him some medicine for the pain, the doctor and the nurse left. Curly laid there, alone with his thoughts.
A few hours pass by, and unable to just sit and do nothing, Curly sneaks out of his room. He finds Anya sitting down in the lobby. The moon light shining on her in her hospital gown. She looked tired as usual, and mentally drained, but she still smiled faintly when she heard his voice. "Anya!" He cried out, limping towards her. She looks up at him and smiles with tears in her eyes. He wrapped his arms around her and cried. She held his head gently. "Anya... I-I I'm so sorry. I should have done something. You already had told me that you felt uncomfortable around him. I felt like I was losing my mind. I didn't know what to do. I'm so sorry that I made it seem like I didn't care. I care so much. I will do anything you want to gain your forgiveness. We don't have to ever talk again if that's what you wish. I'm so sorry, Anya." The words came out almost pleadingly, and rushed. He couldnât hold back a sob. "Captain-... Curly. Our worst moments don't define us. I don't blame you for what happened, we were in the middle of space. But it will still take me a long time to heal. Thank you." Anya was always the more quiet kind. She didn't know how to respond. After several quiet minutes spoke quietly, "I lost the baby." Curly looks up at her, his eyes slightly wide. To not offend her, he asked honestly, "How do you feel?" Tears rolled down her face, as she stared at the ground. "Empty.â
In the morning, Curly and Anya met up with Daisuke and Swansea. It seemed they were recovering well. The crew all sat together in the lobby. It was surreal, everything felt so much lighter. Almost happy. "How are you guys doing? What do you plan on doing after this?" Curly asked. Daisuke's face lights up, "That was totally crazy! I'm happy we survived. I can't wait to see my mom." Swansea pops in, "Heh, It will be nice to be with my family again. No more pony express. I get to be a retired lazy old man!" Swansea chuckles. Anya and Curly look at each other smiling. It felt like a dream.
A few days went by, and the crew slowly recovered. Everyone was released from the hospital once they were fully recovered. Getting back from the hospital was refreshing. The sterile white rooms grew to be nauseating. He could finally go home. Curly pulled up to his home, the sight of his big white house with blue shutters made him smile. That company never cared. Some random astronomers were the ones who cared enough to save them. He was free from that stupid job. He hated being glorified, he soon realized. Curly felt like a monster after everything that had happened. His loving pet guinea pig was waiting for him in his bedroom. Curlyâs mother would take care of her every day while Curly was gone. Whenever anyone visits, they are surprised that he has such a small creature when he's such a big guy. Almost every time someone says the classic "Wow. I thought you would have a dog of some sort, captain." He sighed and flopped on the bed but gently held Daphne. He felt so relieved to be home, after all this time. But every time he tried to close his eyes, he would see Anya's crying face

What if...?
A silly way of Solomon's devotion. Where was this at the start of the game? I'm not so sure. Although, I'd love to expound on this idea â atleast, for the purposes of a trope I come to love. Let's call this: "Tell me please, why can't I?"
âĄ.. Imagine a time where it began as the other way around: MC pining after Solomon. Had the human exchange student crave for human interaction in the literal incarnate of Hell? Go figured, it's in their nature. Of course they'd cling to him. Who else was the safest option?
âĄ.. Many moments pass and MC connects to Solomon like a missing thread. MC is his constant reminder of his lingering humanity, no matter how far gone he thought he was. Seeing the MC talk more about the Human realm: friends, family, places and even the most mundane things like ignoring stupid injuries, or multitasking on errandsâ it's almost nostalgic despite the many years the sorcerer had lived.
âĄ.. When MC finally builds up the courage to finally confess to Solomon, he was... shocked? Humanity was an odd topic; anthropology explaining the details of this race to a T. Solomon at this time thought that MC might as well have fallen for the demons. Like the toy they all were.
âĄ.. And what did he say? What did he say that determined the course of their relationship?
â "It'll pass."
âĄ.. He had an advantage. He was supposed to be able to become the first to MC's heart â the advantage of both being human. He and MC getting together causes the least amount of issues, but what did he do? He let them be. Let them bond with the brothers. With the others.
âĄ.. He only viewed them as a pawn in this endless game of life.
âĄ.. After that as some time came by, their relationship seemed to have continued on as normal. One might say that he and the MC had developed a friendship of sorts. This bond strengthened further when he sees them alone at the school dance â "shall we lonely singles dance together?"
âĄ.. That's how it should've stayed. His heart shouldn't have had a mind of his own. At night, he couldn't help but recall all their moments spent together. Solomon could no longer count the days he imagined their smile, their laughter, all that made them human...
âĄ.. As soon as he felt that spark â like a truck ran over him in his deepest nightmares, he realized: "oh fuck..." the platinum blonde muttered in cold sweat, panting as his mind continues to wander. He's awake. He is awake. But is he? Why is it that he's stuck in this dream?
âĄ.. Like a demon, Solomon felt tempted. Although, isn't that just human nature? â "what have you done to me?"
âĄ.. Now he knew how MC felt. And even if they was an attempt at the confession, MC's options were limited.
â "I love you like no other. Please, I... I don't want to lose you."
âĄ.. So they picked the least broken of the bunch.
â "I'll learn how to love you again."
âĄ.. It was a sentence of bliss, but to the sorcerer, he lost. Which is why when they were given the opportunity to go to the past, Solomon got to spend every moment with MC.
Every moment to enter their heart again.
To quote: "The whisper of love in the morning. Do you hear it? It's beating for you loudly."
Ah yes Solomon, aka mister "shady sorcerer who can't cook" but also "I lost my chance and now I'm taking it again." Inspired by the "fell first, didn't fell" and "fell later, fell harder" dynamic. I was admiring how domestic Solomon acts towards MC in NB â like they were a married couple. As much as I love the demon brothers, this one got my heart... Again, just a "what if," takes inspiration from canon but I tend to deviate a LOT if that makes sense ;v;
Anyhow, have a nice day~! Tell me what you think of this scenario? Let me know your thoughts! đŤś
